Terrorists shouldn’t be given due process? Sure, if life were like a movie, where we’re shown who is the bad guy (or girl). But life isn’t like a movie. In real life, it isn’t so easy to tell who’s lying. And most of us know that, if anything, the political class contains a larger portion of liars than the general population does.
Government loves the idea of no due process. We can see the blowback, from declaring that “terrorists” have no rights, by the labeling of Conservatives as “terrorists”. Whoever is in office needs do no more than declare their enemies as “terrorists” and get a free pass from due process.
NO THANKS. I prefer due process.

    • Houghton

Due process? Sure, Senators Joe Lieberman and McCain introduced a bill called the “Enemy Belligerent Interrogation, Detention, and Prosecution Act of 2010″

Too bad, it’s not constitutionaal, but Paul and politicians think so.

Talk is cheap. If you’re going to talk the talk, you’ve got to walk the walk.

      • DaveH

Are you saying that Ron Paul went along with that?
If so, how about some references?

        • Houghton

Yes, that’s exactly what I am saying that Ron Paul went along with it.
The law was already passed before the public even knew it existed. There was no debate in either house. Do you know of any?

          • DaveH

            How about some references?

          • DaveH

That’s odd. Here are three different links from Ron Paul forums, each of them condemning the bill S.3081. So you say Ron Paul supports it, but his forums are calling it “an extremely dangerous bill”? Note that this bill is a Senate Bill. Ron Paul is a Representative not a Senator. And the Bill has never gotten out of Committee:

I’m going to assume, Houghton, that you are a slanderer. Care to provide proof that I’m wrong?

          • People’s Rights

DaveH, for someone who makes a lot comments you should know, TALK IS CHEAP.

You said, “That’s odd. Here are three different links from Ron Paul forums, each of them condemning the bill S.3081.”

Of course, it’s odd but yet you can’t figure it out. Ron Paul IS a multi-repeat presidential candidate , what do you expect him to say on his forums and his websites??

Besides, most of Paul’s articles were written by the best speechwriters and campaign coordinators who are paid by Paul.
            - During all Paul’s debates he had to review his notes.
            - Many times Paul’s answers don’t applied to the questions asked.
            - Paul always changes the topic when he has not been coached how to answer on a certain topic.

            Also:
            - One of Paul’s favorite statements is to “Bring the troops home”, so WHY DOESN’T HE? Why did let them send them there in the first place?

          • PEOPLEs RIGHTs

DaveH writes, “How about some references?”

How about some common sense. Don’t you know if there was no debate, you can’t make demands when there isn’t any (debate).

Any new article posted on the internet can be back dated. That’s how technology works – LOL!

          • People’s Right’s

When you compare Ron Paul’s debates, with his own words, and the articles which were written by him, they are very different.

            - One shows no knowledge of what’s going on, and he was constantly looking at his notes while other candidates didn’t.

            - The style and messages in all his articles are pretty much like the ones posted on Agent Jones websites.

People say Talk is cheap. If you’re going to talk the talk, you’ve got to walk the walk. Judging by their actions, politicians like Paul reveal themselves as shallow cynical exploiters.

“WE WALK OUR TALK.” People and I agree and will disappoint them.

          • DaveH

            People’s Right’s.
I see nothing factual in your comments. Conjecture, personal attacks, and ridicule is all. Nothing factual. Any ignorant Liberal can do that.
What can I expect from a guy who can’t even get his ID right — a possessive where there should have been a plural?

          • DaveH

And I forgot to add, Ignorant. What else is a statement like this — “One of Paul’s favorite statements is to “Bring the troops home”, so WHY DOESN’T HE?”

Duh, could it be because he’s only 1 Representative out of 435?

          • DaveH

What an ignoramus. One of the first things People’s Rights says is “TALK IS CHEAP”. And then he goes on to do what? Talk Cheaply. No references. We’re just supposed to take his word for it. What a loser.

          • People’s Rights

DaveH, if you are here to nitpick people and MY TYPO ERROR, then you won – Big deal. You proved that you lost your argument, got mad and turned around to insult my typing; the only thing that you could find. I of course know as I have demonstrated in my other postings; you’re obviously not smart enough to figure this out.

        • People’s Right’s

          DaveH,

You’re probably too old to be a USEFUL IDIOT but don’t be.

And DaveH is selling candidate(s), which he does NOT believe in, to Conservatives.

          • JeffH

People’s Right’s, you’re not very bright are you! Those darned public schools huh?

          • People’s Rights

            DaveH / JeffH

Stupid people are the ones do not know how to argue with logic. So what do they do? Stupid ones only know how to insult intelligent people and call us names.

Progressives, Radical liberals and Dictators hate freedom of speech.

          • DaveH

You wouldn’t recognize logic if it bit you in the butt.
At least you finally figured out that Rights doesn’t have an apostrophe before the s.

          • JeffH

Peoples Right’s…or is it People’s Rights? Didn’t you know that two wrongs don’t make a Rights(‘s?).

FYI, Logic, which you lack, is the formal systematic study of the principles of valid inference and correct reasoning.

          • People’s Rights

DaveH, I never said I’m a “great writer” or “majored in English” like Paul’s professional writers or some of the writers on site. That’s why we have computers to correct the errors for you, and Bob’s site does not have it.

I only discuss incorrect statements and the propaganda that you or others brought up . I WAS NOT AWARE of the typo nor do I care, until you brought it up, but so what!!!!

IT’S NOT ABOUT MY TYPO, IT’S ALL ABOUT YOUR PROPAGANDA AS I’VE SAID.

Again just in case you miss, If you are here to nitpick people and my typo error, then you won. You proved that you LOST your argument, got mad and turned around to insult my typing; the only thing that you could find. I of course know as I have demonstrated in my other postings; you’re obviously not smart enough to figure this out.

          • People’s Rights

My topic about Ron Paul’s actions (cannot walk the walk); this is not about how to write an essay using Logical argument – stupid. Perhaps you can start speaking real English, instead of the garbage you’re spouting to sell your PSEUDO AGENDA.

Do you have any idea of how stupid you sound when you make this statement?

“FYI, Logic, which you lack, is the formal systematic study of the principles of valid inference and correct reasoning.”

            LMAO!!!!

          • DaveH

Exactly what statement was incorrect? I provide back up links to my stated facts. What do you provide? Nothing, but lip-service. You said I was wrong about Ron Paul not supporting Houghton’s stated Bill. The onus is on you to prove I’m wrong. You can’t, so instead you personally attack. Typical tactic for people whose statements have no legs.

          • DaveH

Your ears are bookends to a vacuum, People’s Rights.

  • Houghton

Sorry, about the typo for constitunional, too many a’s.

    The proverbial saying

“Some of the less friendly observers have determined that we will abandon our principles and reveal ourselves as shallow cynical exploiters. We must disappoint them. Quite simply put, we walk our talk.”

  • s c

I heard someone say on the radio that he’d like to see Ron Paul take over for Ben [THE Boob] Bernanke, and run the Fed. What could be wrong with that? THINK!
What is the Fed? It’s a private corporation that controls America’s money. What’s wrong with that? Try and find any mention of the Fed in the Constitutiopn, and try to find any need for the Fed in the Constitution. You won’t find either.
The Fed has been playing hell with our money since 1913. That’s almost 100 years. Some understand why we can’t afford to have it in America. Others are afraid to take a position. Others have sold their arses (and everything else).
If Ron Paul has anything to do with the Fed, it should be ONLY to kill it, destroy it, abolish it, terminate it, and put it out of existence. For Ron Pail to ‘take over’ for Ben [THE Boob] would be a travesty, and it would prove that he will have forsaken everything he stands for, folks. THINK!

    • People’s Rights

s c, what are you talking about? I heard on the radio that you’re really the one who’s running the show/the Fed.

Take the job before the Fed is dissolved in 2013. Before this happens please make sure you print me up a couple of million dollars before it (the US) collapses as Bob has predicted.

Why Ron Paul and Eric Cantor are blaming Republicans while they are controlling the White House and the upper house?

And who is this that these two politicians are working for, the ruling party/elites? Just in

Article: Senator James Inhofe (R): Obama is Destroying American Institutions

Inhofe, who earlier this year criticized House majority leader Eric Cantor for suggesting that Republicans had to share some of the blame for the state of the economy, said Obama had allowed military spending to fall as a percentage of gross domestic product.

      • People’s Rights

What I meant to say is “Why are Ron Paul (R) and Eric Cantor (R) blaming the Republican party while the Democrats are controlling the White House and the upper house?”

And these two politicians do not approve Fema help for the East Coast victims who are suffering from the recent disasters.

Donald Trump was made at Congressman Eric Cantor for failing to approve funding to the victims.

        • JeffH

People’s Rights or is it People’s Right’s? Do you even have a GED?

          • People’s Rights

I agree two wrongs do not make a right. Take your own advice and stop bothering people. You jumped in and started insulting me while I was exercising my freedom of speech.

Don’t be so PARANOID, I did not argue with you under a phony name, JeffH. This is what you’ve been doing.

You’re a typical extremist, the type who says DO AS I SAY, NOT AS I DO – A Hypocrite.

Constantly insulting and crucifying people about their typo errors does not make it right either.

          • JeffH

OK People’s Rights…you have attacked Ron Paul and DaveH with nothing more than pure conjecture, without any substance, proof or valid references. Your opinion isn’t fact and your word doesn’t mean diddly squat.

If you’re going to make personal attacks on someone you better be able to back it up. If you can’t take the heat then get out of the kitchen!

          • JeffH

People’s Right…JeffH is a phony name? NOT! I’ll never post my last name…how about you?

Would my proper name of Jeffrey make you happier?

I’d have to say that “People’s Rights” is a phony name ya hypocrit! You butted in and started bothering and insulting DaveH so I thought I would exercise my 1st Amendment right of “freedom of speech” with you.

As for paranoid, you might want to take a peek in the mirror to see someone who is really paranoid, that is if it’s not broken.

Extremist? Only in a Marxist/communist/socialist/progressives eyes maybe but not in the eyes of American patriots.

            Hypocrit? Not!
Again I’ll say take a peek in that mirror again to see a real hypocrit.

Insulting and crucifying people about their typo errors does not make it right either.

If you think that was insulting, you are correct. It was meant to be.
Crucifying? Being a bit dramatic aren’t you?

Would you like some cheese to go along with you incessant whine?

        • People’s Rights

JeffH / DaveH, don’t be so PARANOID, I did not argue with you under a phony name (JeffH.):)

This is what you’ve been doing, a good name to sell Pseudo Agenda, and other names to attack someone who you lost arguments with. You have been doing this to others as well as myself, every single time you’re mad. You went under JeffH or other names, you never fail.

You’re a typical extremist, the type who says DO AS I SAY, NOT AS I DO – A Hypocrite.

Those facts and concerns are other peoples as well as my own, which I’ve sent to you under your DaveH name, and I’ve proven Paul cannot walk the walk. :)

          • JeffH

You’re just another liberal troll! It’s way past your bedtime troll…go to bed before your mommy puts you on restriction again!

          • DaveH

All that you’ve “proven”, People’s Rights, is that it’s time for your meds.

          • libertytrain

Jeff, Dave…this is one of those funny folks that accuses others of not using their “real” names and is most likely posting under multiples himself. How many times have we seen that these last few years —- good grief.

          • JeffH

libertytrain, I guess he has aspirations to be a “debater” when he grows up. Yeah, this chump is definitely one of the weirder ones to post here.

  • Harry

Ron Paul was basically saying there is enough blame for both parties to go around. He’s been around Washington long enough to know how it works and what works and what doesn’t. He see’s giant corrupt holes in a system that many on the street have limited vision of. He see’s a need to fill these holes with honest and economically sound policy. Lets face it, when on 9-10-2001 Rumsfeld announced the Pentagon had one point whatever trillion dollars unaccounted for, and it was broadcast on major networks, no one seemed concerned or the wiser. There is so much swept under the table in Washington, we need a man who recognizes this and is willing to do something about it. Our last four presidents have not, and we are suffering as a nation for it. Big government, more government (and military spending) is not the answer. Our economy and history has proven that. The only ones who benefit are war mongers and big corporations. Smaller government means a more efficient one, and it promotes strengthening a free and open market place to do business and promote business growth (free of huge corporation intervention) for the life blood of middle class economies, small business. Whom hire way more employees and try to keep them, then their big corporate counterparts.
