Romney v. Obama? You Betcha!

February 3, 2012 by

Betting on politics. Hey, guess what? It turns out that when people put their money where their mouths are, they’re more accurate than a polling company. Intrade, an online website based in Ireland, lets people bet on who will win one of our elections. In the 2004 Presidential election, its bettors correctly guessed the winner in every single State. In 2008, they got all but two States right. Now, Intrade clients are betting that Mitt Romney will win the Republican nomination, but that Barack Obama will beat him in November. They’re betting cold, hard cash that they’re right. We’ll see.

The big bucks support Democrats most of the time. The mainstream media love to write about the hefty donations that go to Republicans. But when the Center for Responsible Politics looked at political donations from 1989 to 2012, it found that the really big bucks went mostly to Democrats. Would you be shocked to learn that three of the top six givers were unions?

The high cost of Obamacare. Thanks to Andrew Puzder, CEO of CKE Restaurants, which owns Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s, for warning what Obamacare will do to his company’s ability to create jobs. A healthcare consultant “estimated that when the law is fully implemented,” he wrote in an opinion piece for Bloomberg, “our health-care costs will increase about $18 million a year.” Unless Obamacare is repealed, Puzder warned: “Our ability to create new jobs could vanish.”

Quote of the week. This one comes from Senator Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.), who denounced efforts by Democrats to move military spending to Medicare. He said, “Only in Washington can you increase spending and call it a cut. This is the kind of fraudulent accounting that has caused Americans to lose faith in Washington.” Right on, Senator.

i can’ believe that voters would vote obunhole back in. during his campagain he kept asking if we wanted 4 more years of george bush. i’m convinced we got worse. at the rate of spending in his administration thy say 4 more years of obunhole would have this contry 20 trillion in debt. do we need more. i’m not crazy about romney either. he has the backing of the 1% of the population who has all the money. how can it be any better with him. the nra wnts obunhole out because of his anti-gun policies but mitt and newt have been involved in it too.no winning there. us innocent people will lose our second amendment rights with any of them. i’m 60 years old and i tried deer hunting for the first time in my life and found it to be a challenge that was kind of a neat challenge. why should we give this up because of our rulers in washington. they not longer represent they rule. do you hear this obunhole, mitt, newt. you wanna be our ruler. we need ron paul. trouble is the 1% make the others look so good. he is not anti -gun and a constitutionalist. that means he wants us to have our rights. the !%with all the money will not allow it. the massess must be controlled. if everyone voted for ron paul money would not beat the buck. comon peole vote. its our only chance

Life just keeps getting tougher and tougher all the time, doesn’t it?

I fear that Romney will be the same as Obama and I don’t believe we can ever have another decent person in the White House again. I know that sounds pessimistic and that is not my usual way of thinking. but I am not blind either or deaf.

    We’ve been set up.
Who among us couldnt have seen it coming a mile away?
Now America, you have a choice between Obama and Obomney.Other than fancy words that they speak, there is no real difference between them.Of course the duping isnt quite complete yet.The real dupe comes when the conditions havent changed, and you are back at square one.
It walks like a duck,it quacks like a duck…..yep……its a progressive all right.Straight from the mouth came the answer to your ponderance.Moot Obomney is that answer…..unfortunately,not to the conditions, but to the media circus.Yes the pundits are ablaze with excitement over Jack Welch and his younger wifes’ desire to see Moot as their candidate.Dick Morris is so happy now,he could just(expletive deleted). All the lawyers at Fox News can hold hands with the lamestream media and sing Michael Row the Boat, while patting each other on the back. They have pointed the fan at us all,and dropped their drawers to hunch down and defecate.
Meanwhile……back at the homefront,we learn to be happy with next to nothing. We are told anyone but Obama, and given Obomney,a white version of same.He is the only one who can beat Obama,we’re told. Then we are beaten senseless with the knowledge that lip service is what we are seeking as American voters. It comes straight from the Jackasses’mouth.
“My mouth will perform miracles”,(M)it(t) says.
“You want a rose garden along with the sunshine, well this mouth will give it to you!”,(M)it(t) iterates.
But when you dress a progressive to look like something else, its alot like dressing an 800 lb.gorilla to look like a little girl, and expecting everyone who looks at it to say,”what a cute little girl!”.
    Will it happen?
    Yes.
    Why?
Because you look to mankind to bail you out of the situation you find yourself in.You will not,no matter what, read the writing on the wall.
So when the conditions remain the same, you will not even realize why.
You will think you made a valiant effort to change them, but the world is taking over.
    Goodbye America.
    How short your reign was.
    Short like your memories.
The clay feet will no longer hold up the statue of your greatness.
It was a greatness that could have been, but never was.
You wont even have the time to apologize to those who fought and died for you,on your rapid descent from prominence.A fitting epitaph.
At the race track you are known as the”also ran”.
Who will replace you as the jewel in the crown of liberty?
    None.
Liberty will die,and when it does,it will take the world with it.
Those who worship death will wring their hands and laugh.
I’d shed a tear but I am too damned angry right now.
    -CC.

Well, you’re right about that cawmun, look what happened to Europe when the $hit hit OUR fan in 2008 and it couldn’t be coincidence because the same thing happened in the great depression.. Truly we are the stone that everybody else aspires to but when the stone crumbles, there will be nothing left to look up to. So sad.

The pollsters didn’t figure in that Barack has made most everyone mad. You cant buy your way out of that!

  • Bernie

Obama’s policies and Obamacare is a form of socialism and we know how succesful socialism, ie communism, has been throughout history. As long as the lame stream media continues to lie to and think for the American people, we will have to put up with this garbage. Thank god for FOX News.

  • r.p.

Latest News from Colorado. Mitt’s bus is stuck in Limon. Can’t make it up the little itty bitty hill into town. Roads are closed due to the storm. Not gonna end till Saturday. So he wont make it to the Springs for his rally. Ron Paul enjoyed the warm before the storm and got out of Denver before the storm hit. How’s that for being smart enough to plan ahead.

  • Rocketman

I hate to break the news to everyone, but if Romney is the nominee then OBAMA WILL BE RE-ELECTED. First off, Romney is far too close to Obama which means that the republican base will not be energized and will not all go the polls but will sit it out. Secondly, with the skeletons in Romneys closet Obama will have a field day if he campaigns against him. Anyone other than Paul who is supported by independents, moderate democrats and libertarians will be beat. Paul is the only chance that Republicans have.

    • Earl, QUEENS, NY

Rocketman, I agree with what you say about the RINO Mitt-nitwit Obamney, but you lose me when you speak in favor of that unelectable crackpot Ron Paul. Although he may be better than BHO or Mitt Obamney on economic and some constitutional issues, we certainly shouldn’t legalize mind altering drugs. Furthermore, Ron ‘Wrong’ Paul may be even worse than BHO on foreign policy or national security. It’s outrageous that some places, such as Virginia, are only allowing these two lemons on the GOP primary ballot. Perhaps the voters there should just write in a vote for Santorum or Gingrich.

  • JimH

I have very poor luck gambeling. Time to put my bet down on Obama. What ever I lose on the bet will be worth having him gone.

  • bklyn43

The minority of the people want same sex marriage.
The minority of the people don’t believe in God.
The minority of the people are millionaires.
    etc. etc. etc.
And America Will bow and be controlled by ‘The minority of the people’
The minority of the people VOTE!!

    • JimH

bklyn43, You’re right. In my county in the 2010 primaries 20% of eligable voters voted. It’s pathetic.
If we could just get as strong of a turnout that Chicago cemetary residents have, every where else, it would help.

    • Earl, QUEENS, NY

I hear you bklyn43. It’s really pathetic that among those who do vote in primaries, so many are so naïve. If everyone knew what a phony and RINO Mitt Obam-ney is; and what a McGovern like nincompoop Ron Paul is, they’d vote for the best choice – Santorum, or the next best choice – Gingrich.

  • Earl, QUEENS, NY

If I’m not mistaken, John McCain did oppose at least one of Obama’s radical court appointments, as well as Obamacare and the failed $800+ billion stimulus/porkulus bill which has been added to future baselines. Porkulus alone has tripled GW Bush’s largest deficits in future FY budgets!! Although a poor campaigner, it’s obvious McCain would’ve been a better POTUS than BHO. But what about Romney?? He may be a good campaigner, and is probably no worse than BHO. But, has Romney actually ever done anything to prove he’s better than Obama?? I could care less what this RINO promises between now and November, as it’s probably nothing more than GHW Bush saying: “Read my lips – no new taxes”. At least Bush Sr. apologized (although not forgiven by voters in 1992) for his mistake. We don’t hear the RINO Romney admitting that Romneycare was a mistake and is a disaster. So why are so many primary voters and the GOP so eager to nominate another lemon who’s worse than McCain?? Newt Gingrich has some faults, but he has a good conservative record from the 1990s. What conservative record does Nitwit Romney have??

The more I read and hear about Nitwit Obamney, the more I want to shout at the GOP and the many uninformed voters in states like Florida. Ask yourself – do you think today’s leftwing democrap party would nominate a Herman Cain or Michelle Bachmann type conservative?? LOL!! No way!! So why should the GOP nominate a lemon like Mitt Obam-ney?? If you really want to save America, then the 2012 election is too critical to repeat past mistakes. Why nominate a RINO like Mitt-nitwit Romneycare?????

  • Marlene

Heaven help us. I respect the Irish, but maybe they’ve had a bit too much too drink with these bets. We can’t survive another 4 years of Obama and I’m pretty sure my heart will either kill me to protect me from that fate or my sick lungs will smother me from the stress the vote would cause.
I certainly hope this will be approved, for once.

  • AnneOnymous

Unfortunately, I agree.. This will happen if Romney is chosen.. While most Americans would rather see Obama ousted, there will be no one on the Pub side (other than Ron Paul) who can sway the majority of Dems or the IND. fence sitters.. Neither want’s another Bush clone in office and after Romney’s cackle about the poor (and simply saying if the welfare state doesn’t work then he’ll fix it) they know what kind of ‘fix’ that will be (total extermination of the program).. No.. I agree with the brainiacs, it will go as they say. So, weep all you want for our future in EITHER outcome.

  • sidney perryman

Obama is absolutely 100 percent re-electable against Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney will not defeat Obama! Furthermore, Mitt Romney is a moderate Democrat disguised as a Republican or as most would correctly state a Republican in Name Only (RINO).

He is the best hope Obama has if he is the Republican nominee; “AMERICA IS THE BIG LOSER.”

  • wendy cummings

At this point the only answer is to get Obama out of office. America needs to return to being the land of the free. I’m not happy with the choices we have in this election; but I’m possitive that any of these choices is better than Obama. If this man and his socialist cronies get 4 more years we will have very little chance of being the country are constitution was based on again. Obama reminds me of a person that thinks he should be refered to as King Obama rather than President Obama.

  • Earl, QUEENS, NY

I just read on CNSnews (Feud Intensifies Between Romney, Gingrich, 11/21/11) that Mitt-nitwit Romney was reading off of a teleprompter. Teleprompter?? This RINO needs a teleprompter?? LOL!! This is the first mention I’ve heard of this ‘Romneycare’ knucklehead using a teleprompter. Yet democraps and RINOs badmouth Sarah Palin, when in fact she could read off the palm of her hand without a teleprompter!! Now tell us who this RINO Obam-ney resembles. Hint, on 11/4/2008, many of you made “One Big Awful Mistake America.” Does Obam-ney hesitate or stutter if his teleprompter malfunctions?? This should be a good attention getter for all the naïve supporters of this RINO Obamney. What is your objective; to replace one teleprompter-in-chief with another?? LOL!! Now here’s another good reason for some of us to call this, uh uh uh uh, Romneycare moron ‘Obam-ney’. It’s evident he’s, uh uh uh uh, not much different, uh uh uh uh, from BHO!! LOL!!!!!
