RNC Chair To Networks: Axe Hillary Biopics, Or We Won’t Debate On Your Channels For 2016

CGI America Meeting in Chicago

The Republican National Committee (RNC) is planning to effectively exclude NBC and CNN from hosting the 2016 Presidential primary debates if the two networks go forward with plans to air major productions that commemorate the career of Hillary Clinton.

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus released open letters to both networks Monday, claiming the lionizing of an active career politician represents an “in-kind donation” that (further) jeopardizes their journalistic credibility.

The two letters are similar in content, but Priebus amplifies his NBC version with this extra salvo:

There’s ample cause for concern. Executives and employees of Comcast, NBC’s parent company, have been generous supporters of Democrats and Secretary Clinton. David Cohen, Comcast’s EVP, raised over $1.4 million from President Obama’s reelection efforts and hosted a fundraiser for the president. Comcast Corp. employees have donated $522,996 to the president and donated $161,640 to Secretary Clinton’s previous campaigns.

Your company has expressly stated that your choice to air the miniseries in the near future would avoid concerns of running afoul of equal time election laws. This suggests a deliberate attempt at influencing American political opinion in favor of a preferred candidate, not to mention a guilty conscience.

…I find this disturbing and disappointing. NBC cannot purport to be a neutral party in American politics, and the credibility of NBC News, already damaged by the partisanship of MSNBC, will be further undermined by the actions of NBC Universal executives who have taken it upon themselves to produce an extended commercial for Secretary Clinton’s nascent campaign.

NBC has announced it will cast Diane Lane in a miniseries portraying Clinton; CNN has a feature-length Clinton documentary in the works. Clinton herself has remained coy about her 2016 ambitions, though it’s easy to envision a scenario in which she could time her campaign announcements to capitalize on the airing of a national television event in her honor.

Priebus gave the two networks until Aug. 14 to pull the Clinton shows, pledging to call for a binding vote at the RNC’s summer meeting late next week to “neither partner with you in 2016 primary debates nor sanction primary debates with your sponsor.”

Personal Liberty

Ben Bullard

Reconciling the concept of individual sovereignty with conscientious participation in the modern American political process is a continuing preoccupation for staff writer Ben Bullard. A former community newspaper writer, Bullard has closely observed the manner in which well-meaning small-town politicians and policy makers often accept, unthinkingly, their increasingly marginal role in shaping the quality of their own lives, as well as those of the people whom they serve. He argues that American public policy is plagued by inscrutable and corrupt motives on a national scale, a fundamental problem which individuals, families and communities must strive to solve. This, he argues, can be achieved only as Americans rediscover the principal role each citizen plays in enriching the welfare of our Republic.

God, are they ever biased. They are to report the news, not create the news. They have become the true “sock puppets.”

  • villageidiot

Who will be cast as Monica?

    • FreedomFighter

      Huma Wiener
      Laus Deo
      Semper FI

      • Nadzieja Batki

Won’t Weiner complain that his wife is stolen from him?

  • rendarsmith

I am so sick of hearing about Hillary. This woman is an incompetent moron and a complete joke!

    • Don 2

Incompetence is a career enhancer for Democrats. It’s in their DNA.

    • Karolyn

I’d like to see you do what she has done!

      • Don 2

Do you mean her lying about Benghazi or her lying about being shot at by a sniper in Bosnia?

      • WTS/JAY

        What has she done?

  • Don 2

Why does the RNC agree to have debates on NBC and CNN in the first place, allowing them to use their totally biased moderators? Their sole mission is to destroy any Republican candidate anyway. Wise up Priebus!

    • Nadzieja Batki

Because Priebus doesn’t know or care that he is a Republican, why else would he go into the territory of the human wolves the Dems/Progs/Leftists or simply he is a wolf in sheep’s’ clothing so he goes to the territory he is familiar with.

    • Bob666

      Yo Don,
We don’t always agree, but let me pose this thought to you.
Could it be the GOP is on it’s very own track to “self” destruction?

I really don’t believe they need any help from NBC or CNN.

      Just my opinion.

      • Don 2

        Yo Bob,
        You could be right?

        • Bob666

          Scary-is it not?

      • WTS/JAY

I think the whole political-system is on it’s very own track to self-destruction. A run-away train with no working brakes, in fact. I wouldn’t give a care, if it were only the morally-incontinent politicians/parties that self-destructed, but that they takes us with them; now that, is SCARY!!!

        • Bob666

          Yo Jay,
          yes it is.

I don’t think Priebus realized how conniving, unethical and sneaky the Demo’s were until we lost the election. Now he still does not seem to know what to do. They do not play by any rules. He seems inexperienced at the political game and the game changed with Obummer. It is hard to fight the Globalist Rich, NWO people, etc.

It does not matter what Hillary has done, the same low info voters will elect her just because they think it is time for a woman president. I told one what I thought of him and she said that she had really liked Hillary and would have voted for her then I proceeded to tell her what I thought of Hillary. The conversation soon ended and I failed to change her mind and I can’t stand to be around her now. I would have to bite my tongue off. I retired before the 2012 election and wrote to some of the people I worked with (could not start a fight at work), have not heard from them. I just hope these people live to experience what they have done to our country.

Each county needs to have their voting machines checked before anymore voting to make sure they are not changing any votes, like a test run to make sure votes are not being flipped. Maybe we should talk to our county voting registrar about this. Send a letter to the editor with all the bad things we know about the ones that are running and if both have done corrupt things (like in VA) choose the lesser of two evils to support. I don’t know what else to do, I have two Demo Senators that don’t listen to me when I point out what is wrong with a bill or an Obummer nomination. I feel sure that a lot of people are as frustrated as I am.

Understand this RINOism is a large part of the R’s party, they can and will torpedo any and all decent legislation, put a end to a good R candidate to save their own seats and continue to appease the libs. Priebus has this last chance to prove he can remove the RINO and make conservatism and the Republican platform the mainstay and the best part of the party. If he fails the country will most likely gain a third party..

  • Karolyn

They have a point, but it sounds like sour grapes to me. The repubs do not have a female politician who has had as varied and dynamic a life as life as Hilary. Sounds like an interesting movie.

    • Don 2

Yeah, interesting, if you’re already in a coma anyway.

    • Marten

Ignorance is bliss but it leads to the abyss and by the way Amerikans live in a matrix of lies, so all of Amerika become filled with Whores…Karolyn, I hope for you to have a working brain

The Clintons of old are both now facing serious charges of violations of obligatory duty. Hellary Rottenham Clinton is looking at a growing tsunami of evidence involving her degrading display of duty in the Benghazi incident and like BO this is really going to stink….
Bubba her longtime partner in crime and corrupt actions is now going to be on the block again for the TWA plane that was downed by a unknown missile, the entire event was set upon by the government under Bubba and all the witnesses were told they did not see the attack, the USN and other agencies had evidence to support the witnesses and it was suppressed again by Bubba and the boys. Now there is more than enough evidence to take this case to a Grand Jury and have it opened to the public for consideration of criminal charges against the Clinton administration……Elitism, greed and political corruption is now a solid part of our history and it is more than a black mark it is a dishonorable shame….

Boy, what a tag to put on Diane Lane. I had never heard of her before she was cast for this role so I did a search figuring I would find the 2nd ugliest women on earth (next to Hillary). But, she’s actually a good looking women. They say those makeup artist can do wonders, but I don’t think any of them are that good. The only roles she will find after this will be in monster movies.

    good deal. sic-em

Shouldn’t be partnering with them anyway. Priebus and the rest of the RNC are worthless. Looked what happened in 2012.
