Republicans, Rand Paul Is Showing You Your Leaders

March 7, 2013 by

Republicans, or rather, conservatives, it is time to wake up and stop being so damned lazy. After the disastrous results of the last Presidential election — during which you picked a RINO as your standard bearer because your Party elite told you to — Republican Average Joes throughout the Nation were left scratching their heads and wondering why there are no real conservatives leading the party.

Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) embarked on an epic filibuster in the Senate on Wednesday; if you weren’t paying attention, you should have been. The Senate takeover was not for the sake of partisan squabble about the nomination of John Brennan as head of the CIA, but simply because Paul wants to ensure that all Americans are granted their Constitutional rights to trial and are protected from tyranny and that power remains balanced between the three branches of government as intended by the Founders.

Paul spoke for nearly 13 hours on the Senate floor, asking the President of the United States for a simple yes or no answer about whether the Administration believes it has the right to extra-judiciously kill American citizens on American soil. Meanwhile, the rest of Washington was shut down because of a snowstorm that didn’t actually happen.

Paul was, thankfully, joined by a handful of other lawmakers dedicated to protecting your Constitutional rights and preserving what is left of the balance of power in government. So, if you’ve been asking for leaders who care about Americans — not the sort of chumps the good ole boy Party elite have been pushing on you — without further ado, here are a handful of lawmakers who participated in the filibuster in support of your rights:

SENATOR RAND PAUL (R-KY.)

Republican National Convention in Tampa

SENATOR MIKE LEE (R-UTAH)

The Supreme Court Strikes Down Most of the Arizona Immigration Bill in Washington

SENATOR TED CRUZ (R-TEXAS)

Republican National Convention in Tampa

SENATOR MARCO RUBIO (R-FLA.)

Bi-partisan group of senators introduces immigration reform bill

SENATOR JERRY MORAN (R-KANSAS)

moran

These lawmakers are not perfect conservatives; Rubio even voted for the National Defense Authorization Act. But they are a cut above many neocons in senior leadership roles in Congress. For instance, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said it was ridiculous to believe that the government would kill its citizens with drones, calling Paul’s debate “paranoia between libertarians and the hard left that is unjustified.”

A few other lawmakers, including some Representatives, also popped in the Senate chamber in brief support of Paul’s stand against government tyranny.

Paul reportedly sustained himself on water, cough drops and candy bars; meanwhile, from about 6:30 p.m. until after 8 p.m., the following Senators, and perhaps others, were enjoying an off-the-record dinner with President Barack Obama at Plume, a swank Washington restaurant: Lindsey Graham, Bob Corker, Kelly Ayotte, John McCain, Dan Coats, Tom Coburn, Richard Burr, Mike Johanns, Pat Toomey, Ron Johnson, John Hoeven and Saxby Chambliss.

Compliments of Breitbart, here is a list of Republican Senators that did not feel compelled to join Paul in making sure your government can’t kill you without proof of militancy or trial:

Paul’s filibuster was, admittedly, a moment of brilliant political theater. But his dedicated actions have also provided conservatives with a big opportunity to redefine their place in the political sphere after too many years of RINO leadership. Get busy, lest you want more Mitt Romneys and John McCains running the Party’s conservatism into the ground.

The GOP is dead!__They’re too busy trying to be like the Dems and there is a reason why we’re not Dems, the GOP have lost their way.

Rand Paul can be the future leader of a new party, and I don’t care if it splinters the old GOP or not, it can’t be any worse than what we have now!__Go Rand!!!

JP>>> as if the Marxists in power are any better….

Well. Rather then the President lead by what the Constitution says. He is leading by what he can get around. That is treason. Not his mind he should be working with. Its outside of the job he is required to fill as President for the People. Anyone can find away to do this. Amount of people in the rest of the Government that do not have the integrity to see what he is doing and saying nothing is wrong. Their families also that will parish in the coming years.

  • JeffH

Tell the POTUS and the GOP you stand with Rand Paul!

Well I guess John McCain was pretty embarrassed to be with the same party as Paul after he’s silly little filibuster rant.According to McCain Paul and the other 14 Senators that took to the floor were just totally wrong in that the US has the right to take out enemy combatants no matter where they are, on US soil or abroad and by whatever means are available.Pauls little speech by him and 14 others just turned into background noise after a while and nobody paid attention. It was nothing of the caliber that Bernie Sanders speech was a few years back and they even made it into a book.Paul was to much of an amateur and he was wrong again.Too bad Hillary wasn’t there to say “TURKEY”.

    • angelwannabe

jopa, if your post had audio, it would’ve been “just background noise”.

        Angelwannabe – WELL SAID! Haha!
