Representative Steve King (R-Iowa)Representative Steve King (R-Iowa) is a Constitutional conservative and advocate of the Tea Party. Robert Ringer recently interviewed King as part of his Liberty Education Series. In the interview King talks about President Barack Obama’s economic philosophy and his (Obama’s) lack of respect for entrepreneurs and small business owners, and King’s efforts on the small business committee to try and reign in the over-regulation of the government. King believes the Administration wants to nationalize Fortune 500 companies. King says there is a small but good core of Constitutionalists in the Congress now, but believes a new wave will come in with the November elections.     Don’t hold your breath for any great strides to Freedom with this guy. He voted Yea for H.R. 4061, the Cybersecurity Act which gives the Federal Government great regulatory power over the Internet. Somehow in the 10 years that I’ve been using the Internet, I’ve missed all the grave dangers that the Feds want to protect us from with their vast regulatory powers.
    As usual, we have here a Big Government wolf masquerading as a Freedom Loving Lamb.

        This is something floating around that is interesting. If you ever wondered what side of the fence you sit on, this is a great indicator.

        If a conservative doesn’t like guns, he doesn`t buy one.
        If a liberal doesn’t like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.

        If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn`t eat meat.
        If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.

        If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
        If a liberal is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.

        If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
        A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.

        If a conservative doesn’t like a talk show host, he switches channels.

    H.R.4061 wasn’t all bad, it protects children from people that lay in wait for ‘children’…to do them harm, and since we that use the network don’t police our own…then we opened the door for Government to step up to the plate. That said; I don’t like it when Government gets’ involved in our lives. But when do we as Americans take responsibility for what is happening in our country? It is good that we have open debate about a person running for office…before we get to the polls….not enough Americans take the time to know who they are voting for..if they had we wouldn’t have this mess we have now in Washington!

      I believe we know exactly what were doing, we Voted for who we wanted. Nobody’s in their by mistake. WE voted for this President, and we should stand by him. this wasn’t NOT a MISTAKE. So people need to start backing what he says and does. Stop making things worse by thinking they know whats best for the Govt. NOBODY does otherwise it wouldn’t be the way that it is now. If BUSH didn’t get us into all this mess, we wouldn’t be struggling now! Wasting all that money in IRAQ, what a waste of lives and billions of dollar. Too many people seem to forget Obama didn’t make these problems. He got left with them, he’s been trying to FIX them as best as he could!!!

And since I just retired from teaching English in a high school with about 100% Hispanic students, I would say judging from the mistakes in your writing that you have moved here from somewhere south of the border. You need to realize that this is the United States, and that the people do not work for the politicians — the politicians work for us, but too many of them think they are a privileged class, including Obama, who is a Marxist and wants to socialize our country. He is NOT “helping all small business people in his plans” as you claim. Just the opposite. I hope you wake up to the truth before his majesty and all his cronies destroy this country.

          You were an English teacher? Were you licensed to teach, or did you just decide you were qualified? From the errors I found in YOUR post, I would guess it was the latter.

          As for Debra’s post, she’s not completely wrong. Anyone who would challenge the assertion that the Bush administration screwed up is ignoring recent history. You can claim that it was all the fault of the Democrat lead Congress, but that would require that you ignore Bush’s insistence that we keep the cost of war off the books, that we bring in Halliburton and Blackwater at a cost far exceeding anything our military might have spent (and with less than acceptable results) and that the Republican congress force two tax cuts through despite a growing deficit (don’t forget, they used reconciliation!) Obama has made some mistakes, but you can’t expect an economy as bad as that which Bush created to turn around in just 18 months.

            Hold on there a minute. Bush certainly made mistakes, but his administration was doing many right hings as well until Congress changed over to a Democrat-led farce. Then all his plans and programs were killed in committee and voted down. It was Congress, not Bush, who made this mess. This is the same Congress that is in there now trying to “fix” it, as you say by adding on more idiotic legislation on top of the rest of the pile of crap they have piled up.

        I think it shows how there is such a lack about how the government works. First, Bush didn’t get us into this mess all by himself. One of the biggest causes lands in the lap of Barney Frank who was the head of the finance committee who was asked by Bush in 2001 to check how AIG, Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac were doing. His answer was All IS WELL. Again in 2006, same answer. In 2007, Congress came under control of Democrats so they were at the helm for the last two years of Bush’s term. Do you ever hear anything about this. They played a roll in the events that took place for the last two years of Bush’s rein.

        Secondly, the Republicans did not have the numbers that he democrats now have in both houses so it was easier to pass all legislation now without any consent from their constituents which the democrats have done, Obamacare and massive regulations.

          Ok, crisaf, I’m going to assume that your intention here is to suggest that the Republicans did not have the same majority under President Bush that the Democrats had when President Obama took office. It’s a fairly tired argument, but one that keeps coming back, so let’s take a look.

          The Republicans had complete control of the congress from 1995 (the 204th) through 2001 (the 206th). No, the numbers weren’t what the Dems had in 2008, but they had control. The 207th was theirs as well, until one Republican went independent, but then along came the 208th congress in 2003 and all was Golden for Bush. The big difference between the Republicans and the Democrats became clear: the Republicans will stick together. Bill after bill flew to the president’s desk without the support of the Dems because the Republicans voted as a solid block. Compare that to Obama’s first year and you can see that if the Blue Dogs had voted with their leadership, much stronger Healthcare reform would have been voted on and passed in the first 6 months. The failure of the Dems comes not just from mistaken ideals, as you would profess, but from having to satisfy the Blue Dogs and trying to satisfy the Republicans. A “solid” majority is nothing if all members don’t vote together.

          Back to the Republicans. What did they do with 20 years of Congressional control? They passed what they wanted and by September of 2004 the federal budget (over $2 trillion) and the federal deficit (over $500 billion) grew to the highest levels ever and kept growing along with the national debt (over $7 trillion and increasing an average of $2 billion per day.) Two wars were started (one justified, the other not.) and Bush proclaimed himself “a War President”. He was so proud. Since then, thousands of Americans have died on foreign, our national reputation has been drug through the mud, and Americans have even less liberty now than they had before.

          20 years of control, all but 8 of which included the White house and look what it got us.

            What twenty years of Republican control of Congress. The controlling party elects the Speaker of the House and you only have to look at the below list of Speakers since 1955 to see that the Democrat Party has held the most seats in the House for a long time.

            52 Sam Rayburn for the 84th, 85th, and 86th Congress from 1955 to 1961
            53 John McCormack for the 87th, 88th, 90th, 91st Congress from 1962 to 1969
            54 Carl Albert for the 92nd, 93rd, 94th Congress from 1971 to 1975
            55 Tip O’Neil for the 95th, 96th, 97th, 98th, 99th Congress from 1972 to 1985
            56 Jim Wright for the 100th and 101st Congress from 1986 to 1990
            57 Tom Foley for the 102nd and 103rd Congress from 1991 to 1994
            58 Newt Gingrich for the 104th and 105th Congress from 1995 to 1998
            59 Dennis Hastert for the 106th, 107, 108th and 109th from 1999 to 2006
            Nancy Pelosi for the 110th and 111th Congress from 2007 to 2010 today

            All but Gingrich and Hastert were Democrats. So the real control of the House of Representatives has been in control of the Democrat Party most of the time since the 77th Congress was first under Sam Rayburn who was Speaker for 17 years. Tip O’Neil was Speaker for 9 years and 350 days, John McCormack was Speaker for 8 years and 344 days, Carl Albert was Speaker for 5 years and 337 days, and Tom Foley was Speaker for 5 years and 209 days. The Republicans held the leadership in the House for a little over ten years.

            The point remains, Republicans held both houses for over a decade and here we are. Many of you jump on the Dems for the failures of Bush’s last two years, but history shows that, while the decline of middle class income has been going on since the Reagan era, it accelerated sharply during the time the Republicans held both houses. Bush’s Amazing job growth? That peaked in ’95 and it was noting to crow about. How about economic growth by percentage of GDP? Well the Republicans did well with Clinton at the helm, but when Bush stepped in it all fell apart. Worse than Carter, as a matter of fact. I know, I know 9/11 hit us hard, but you can’t blame everything on 9/11. Two wasteful wars didn’t help either.

            So I’ve looked at chart after chart, graph after graph and no matter how you look at it the neither the Democrats or the Republicans brought about the second coming when they were in charge. The Republicans did pretty well under Clinton, but as you all like to point out Clinton came in during a period of growth. Funny thing about that, Bush 1 came in during a sharp down turn, but his Democratic House and Senate turned that around to Give Clinton that great economy. Of course it could have just been luck. The economy has always had it’s peaks and valleys and both parties have been in charge for good and bad. The Dems had both houses and lowered the deficit under Nixon, Ford and Carter, but with Reps in the Senate and Dems in the house they increased it under Reagan. Reps held both houses under Clinton and the debt went down, but it went right back up when Bush came in. So does either one have anything but luck on their side?

        I am sorry to disappoint you. Your vote for Obama DID NOT count. The President of the United States is voted in by the electoral votes. All a person can hope for is that the electorate votes their way.

        Debra, You need to check your sources more accurately. Obama has spent more in one bill than Geo. Bush spent in both Iraq and Afghanistan in total since Sept. 11, 2001.

        Then it would possibly enlighten you if you obtained a valid copy of the Constitution of the United States and of the Federalist Papers which explained the purposes of the Constitution to the voters of the colonies so that they could support it or oppose it knowledgeably.

        Much of what has been passed by the Congress since Woodrow Wilson has been unauthorized by the Constitution, which you should have learned in school, is a partial list of the rights of the citizens and a complete list of the permissions granted to the Federal Government. The Federal Government has only one duty assigned by the Constitution. That duty is the defense of this country.

        Your hero, Obama, has done what he can to weaken this country’s defenses. He has scheduled that the last of our F-22 fighters will be built in 2011. The F-22 is the only fighter that we have which cn reliably defeat the current front line fighters of Russia and China, both of whom will readily sell these fighters to their allies. The F-22 supercruises at over Mach 1.5, that is 1.5 times the speed of sound, has a top speed of over Mach 2.3 and carries 8 air to air missiles. The first airplane that was capable of supercruise was built in the 1950′s. It was the F-106. It was capable of just over 900 MPH, about Mach 1.25 without afterburner and set the records for single engined aircraft of Mach 2.31.

        The replacement that Obama has agreed to let us build for our defense is the F-35. It requires afterburner to exceed the speed of sound and has a top speed with afterburner of only Mach 1.6.It carries only 4 air to air missiles and while claimed to be stealthy, has a radar signature that is larger than that of the F-22 by a factor of 10 or greater, depending on the angle from which the radar is active. The flyaway price of the F-35 is now close to 92% of the cost of an F-22, but the F-35 provides only about 35% of the security.

        He has cut the capability of the U. S. Navy as badly by limiting the capability of the new ships that the Navy wishes to buy.

        He has regularly berated police and other law enforcement agencies for enforcing the law while requiring his Attorney General to drop the charges against convicted criminals before the sentence was passed.

        If your mind is as closed as one of my high school classmates, you will dismiss this information as “Right Wing Bullshit”. if you are open to facts, you can verify my claims yourself. that way you may understand what BHO is really doing.

      A leftest can always come up to new laws that are suppose to help us but those on the right do not want a Fascist State. There are more than enough laws on the books now to punish people who cause harm. Problems stem from lack of enforcement as with our southern border. Adding more laws only empowers government. They do little to protect people. Another case in point is Wall Street. President Obama’s lack of oversight led to SEC employers watching porno for most of the day. No one was even fired. If they had a hundred more laws it wouldn’t have helped if people are going to be watching porno instead of doing their job. The left want more laws so they can be selectively enforced by those who oppose them. What Obama wouldn’t give to have a law on the books that would allow him to shut Fox News down. He certainly tried.

Granted, Obama’s administration did not catch these SEC workers in their first year, but it was the Obama administration that caught this and they HAVE disciplined some of the employees while others WERE dismissed. That’s not even the most important correction of your claims. No, what really matters is the fact that This has been going on for 5 YEARS! These accusations and findings go back to the BUSH YEARS!!

          I think you are missing the big picture. “The more numerous the laws the more corupt the government.” Tacitus 100 AD Okay we got rid of Bush. Now it is time to get rid of Obama. His policies will lead us into a totalitarian state. He has already passed laws forcing people to buy healthcare against their will. He is trying to use the UN against AZ, essentially to force control over the American people. Now he is using Hillary and the UN in a move to override our Constitution and the right to bear arms. He might just as well declare war on America except for the fact he is cunning and works in the area of subterfuge trying to recruit minions who will vote for him.

      You are wrong on the point of “if Americans only know who they were voting for things would be different in Washington.” Americans do know who they are voting for and they do it because they are a bunch of crooks themselves. Anyone who is collecting a check from the government should not be allowed to vote. It’s a conflict of interest. That includes any government employees, welfare recipients, social security recipients etc. These kind of people are looking out for the next handout, that’s how we got obama and what a disaster that is.

          I wish people would quit lumping Social Security in with transfer payments such as Welfare. We paid into that system against our will (supposedly for our own good), only for that money to be pillaged and wasted by the Democrats. If a private company ran their pension funds like Social Security is run, they would either be put in jail or have their buns sued off.

        Yes, Peter, I think you stepped in it with your Social Security statement. I would much rather have the $180,000 they took on my behalf over a 40 year period. With just simple investments (CDs, etc.) it would have been worth well over $360,000 by now. But, at this point, I would be happy if they just gave me my $180000 back, so I could invest in Silver before the dollar becomes worthless.

          IF you invested well and saw the crash coming, otherwise you wold be among the millions who have lost their retirement in the stock market. The idea of allowing each of us to invest for ourselves sounds good, but most people have no clue about where and how to invest, and many “financial advisors” are nothing but sales people out to make a commission.

        Peter, I am in agreement with most of what you propose. I would disagree only on Soc. (in)Security. many persons on S.S. were seduced into this poor financial position by the promises of liberals who promoted S.S. as a full retirement plan. It isn’t and it is not authorized by the Constitution. It should be made irrelevant by setting the payment equal to minimum wage, which would be a pay increase for may, and setting rules for a means test

        Then a Personal Retirement Plan should be created by making an IRA as invulnerable to creditor attacks as the current S.S. system and allowing full funding. Funding and payouts, up to minimum wage, must be free from taxes. Withdrawal rates that would expend the fund before the owner reaches the Insurance actuarial table maximum anticipated age must be disallowed. payments from these accounts must apply against the S.S. means test. The balance at the owner’s death would be taxable fully to the beneficiaries. as a lump before distribution.

        Government employees, and any others, who do not have a government sponsored or paid for, retirement plan should be eligible to vote. Even better would be the elimination of all retirement plans for all government employees other than Military.

        All congressional salaries must be established and paid by the state which sent the member go congress. This must include all office costs and the salaries of all office help.

      That’s the role of Parents, Doug. There are many software programs available for concerned parents to block their children from undesirable websites. We don’t need to spend extra tax money on more Government Bureaucracy. Make no mistake, the politicians are after one thing (everything else is just an excuse) and that is censorship. Unlike with the MSM, they have no control over us. It must upset them terribly that we can now communicate so freely.

That’s how they get some crappy bills thru. So did he vote for child protection, and had to accept the rider to get the part he wanted?? (Thats what makes it so hard to decide on the man.) I’ve said it before, I vote for the “LEAST BAD” OF THE LIST. Sometimes I have regretted my vote.Hay!

Without Congress nothing Bush proposed could have gotten passed.             I agree that Libertarians are likely to vote no on most of Obama’s plans, but that is a matter of political philosophy. The Republicans have made a point of voting no as a policy. Even on issues they supported in the past, the Republicans have voted no just to impede progress during a Democratic administration. This is the BS that has to stop.             CI…do you have auto insurance? It’s mandatory. Use the actual name..Social Security INSURANCE. One way to correct the failures of SSI running out in …. 30 something years … have the earnings cap in place where anyone earning say … 50 grand doesn’t receive SSI.

            Premiums go down, SSI is funded well into the futre, and the ones who need SSI have it. Asit stands today, the wealthy receive a check as well. You do realize that stats show most savings is exhausted when folks hit 80…so you espouse having people who hit 80 + find a job?

            BTW…I note many of those who in the past wer short sighted and called for SSI to be an option, are now quiet as they saw the values of thier retirement stocks and 401s drop to less than half of what they were. THAT’S why it’s called insurance…you dweeb.

        Congress should stick to thier constitutionally enumerated powers and keep thier nose out of our daily lives! The States and local municipalities are much better suited to deal with and understand our local needs. Just because U.S. case law and the Supreme Court have twisted and inverted the Constitution to be used against the States and thier people doesn’t make it right. The purpose of our Constitution was to LIMIT the reach of the Federal government and ensure a republican form of government to thr people of the individual, sovereign States. The Federal government is meant to have less power than the States. How else is this supposed to be a Union of States if the federal government dictates everything to us and our home State? Read our founding documents and debates over the ratification of the Constitution and you can CLEARLY see that the Federal government is acting well beyond it’s limits and has become a tyrannical entity who claims good intentions. Just make sure you read the original SOURCE material. I believe that most in Congress actually believe they are doing good weather they are or are not. But laws governing my everyday life and yours should not be up for debate in the halls of Congress. They are too far removed from our daily lives to understand our individual needs, nor our States needs for that matter. government is meant in this Union to work from the people upwards not the other way around. In order to secure that form of government the power should be strongest at the local level. In other words, if your city government had the most power you would focus your energy on local issues, elections, and problems. The next level of power is in your county seat, then the State, and finally the Federal government. As the power gets farther away from you the influence on your daily life should be LESS influential! Then we could all live in the manner we choose and who cares if the next State over has laws we don’t like. It wouldn’t affect you. Now imagine if the Federal government was actually still confined to the “chains of the constitution”. You wouldn’t care less about what they were doing because it could’t have an effect on your daily life. This is how it was supposed to work.

    You say it is inherited from the past presidency. That’s true. Every new president inherits from the previous; however, you can’t say it’s Bush’s fault. That is becoming laughable. The Democrat’s have had the power well over two years before this latest presidential election.
    No president is perfect. They make decisions based on the information provided them. To do that, you need people who are skilled in business skills, not from book learning.
    This current presidency is made up of unions, SEIU, and other tax dodging personnel. Our government has grown substantially since the latest election; our debt has even surpassed the unimaginable.
    The government is not here to provide for the people; it is here to protect them. Providing benefits takes away an individual’s desire for achievement, destroys pride (if they had any to start with); and will ultimately fail. When an individual says “he’s going to pay my mortgage, buy me a car, and take care of me”, what does that say. Eventually, there will be more takers than doers and that will result in everyone losing. Why should an individual work hard and end up being taxed so those not willing to work can have a share. That is socialism and I for one, do not believe in it. I believe in helping those in need through no fault of their own, those that tried to make wise decision but circumstances curtailed their efforts.
    I do not believe in people coming to the US and being provided food, housing, medical, etc. Anyone coming to this country must learn our language and earn his way.
    We need to beware of problems in the future, such as Sariah law, Constitutional destruction, babies being killed, etc. Germany killed many people in the past; we are killing many people now. A baby’s heart is beating in a matter of weeks; they are a human being — just as important as our handicapped and elderly. Today, it is an unborn infant; will tomorrow be the elderly, the sick, the handicapped?
    God gave us a brain, an ability to choose right from wrong. Let’s use this gift wisely.
    Our Nation has been a Nation of doers, not takers. Both parties are to blame for this fiasco; however, instead of moving slowly, the burner has been turned up to high.

Have the cities use the little electric sardine cans, and especially Congress and Onumnutts and Big Mamee, dispose of strech limos.       First off, Obama did not “give” money to Mexico. It was the U.S. Export-Import Bank that gave out this LOAN. Second, neither the President or Congress has authority in these matters. If they had, this loan would be attributed to Bush, since it started during his term. Third, these loans do not come from our tax dollars. They are primarily private bank funds loaned to forign companies to promote the use of American products and labor. And last but not least, Soros owns stock in Petrobras, not Pemex. And the claim that “Obama gave money to Brazil and Soros” is also bull since Soros sold off millions in Petrobras before this loan was approved, so he likely LOST money.

      This is not the first time I have corrected this error on this site. Please, if you must go off on another useless rant, at least do some homework first.

In other words they give out loans that commercial lenders wouldn’t be stupid enough to give out. As usual, Government risking and wasting the taxpayers’ money.

But even as strong of a conservative movement as it was, it eventually failed to turn things around.

    I have come to believe that we must either have a constitutional amendment convention per article V of the constitution, combined with State nullification of Federal laws, or we must once again declare independence from a tyrannical central government who is ignoring the citizens of the states and the states themselves! These are the only two paths left for true American liberty.The Federal government will not stop until it has entirely swallowed up the states and our liberties. We have been using the ballot box for a century now trying to fight the usurpation’s of our liberty. This hasn’t worked yet!!! We may slow the beast down, but only see it speed up again, and it destroys liberty faster than ever. How long can we keep trying the same thing and expect that it will work when history proves otherwise? Now we have republicans OPENLY supporting progressive ideas, and trampling on the constitution! BOTH sides are in it for their party, and power, not our liberty or our country! Until we wake up and realize the system itself has been perverted and turned inside out to work against us and keep the reigns of power in the hands of the new ruling class, this will NEVER change.

    With an amendment convention we may have a chance to repeal some bad amendments, (IE. the 16th & 17th) and modify or clarify others that have been grossly misinterpreted (IE. the 14th). As well as propose new ones such as giving the States an annual option to nullify bad decisions by the Supreme court. With 2/3 of the States in agreement a Supreme Court decision would be overturned. The founders never meant for the Supreme court to have the final say on law. Right now there is no check on the Supreme Court, I would say one is long overdue! We must have recourse on Supreme court rulings. We also can give standing to individuals in Federal courts when there is a legitimate claim to loss of liberty brought on by bills passed in Congress. As of today you cannot file suit in Federal court over things like Obama care because you don’t have standing. Only States and organizations like the ACLU, NRA, or NAACP can file suit on your behalf. Why? If individuals could file suit, it would be another huge check on Federal power. And how about some term limits too!

    I am afraid that even if we could get the States to call an amendment convention, and all of these things were accomplished there will still be judges who will reinvent the constitution and its meaning. I fear this is inevitable unless the people educate themselves and go through a fundamental change in their attitude towards government and liberty. Not to mention the unsurpassed importance of faith and morality which is ESSENTIAL to the survival of a free people. I truly believe that this combined with States acting to nullify unconstitutional Federal law is our last hope to salvage what the founders fought and died for. After that there is only one option. Secession, (or as Thomas Jefferson called it in the Declaration “separation”), and a new declaration of independence. This should be a last resort, of course. Just as it was also said by Jefferson’s declaration- “Prudence, indeed will dictate that governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.” However, I fear we are past the time already to accomplish these things and we may not have a choice left but to say again: “When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to separation……..” I hope I am wrong. But I don’t think I am. Do you?

      This is a lucid post and pretty much right on. We’re supposed to have a Representative Democracy, however the ideal so skillfully crafted by our brilliant forfathers has been preverted by the neferious amoung us, namely the super rich, Wall Street and powerful corporations, which have so many Abramoff’s lurking in our legislature seeking advantage at a price. Our government is for sale and the cost of the resulting transaction is born by the middle class largely because they’re the citizens who work and pay their fair share of taxes and more. Thing is the gross demands put upon our purse strings can no longer be met by the average honest tax payer. The federal government screws up virtually everything it touches and is the most inefficent component of our society. They’ve failed at public education, failed with Social Security plus robbed all the money, failed with health care by not at least addressing the gross over charge for care that is not the best in the world according the the World Health Organization, which rates France #1, our representation live like royality while millions of Americans suffer, failed at energy independance, failed at drug interdiction even after billions spent and given to countries like Columbia and Mexico, failed at immigration and protecting our borders, failed at import/ export equity and I could continue this longer than I could keep you from developing the 1000 yard stare. As long as incumbants have overwealming advantage in the ballot box and the cost of getting elected is millions of dollars that far too often is paid for by special interests with strings attached, we’ll not have representation with our interests at heart. We’ll only get lip service and double talk.

      Wow…great idea! We don’t like what’s happening…so instead of moving, we want to break up the USofA. Jeesh….do you get paid from Al Qaeda funds for saying that stuff? Because it’s exactly what they want…a destroyed and weak USofA.

      I don’t know about you…but espousing the same desires as AlQaeda ain’t exactly anything I want to do .. but apparently you do.

You must not have heard of, and Alliance Defense Fund, our religious rights; or The Judicial Watch, ACLJ American Ctr for Law & Justice and ACRU American Civil Rights Union, our constitional rights. Hook up with one or two of them, check them out, you may like them better for reprensentation. They need our support in helping to fight our battles against those intent on trying to take our rights away from us as well as Government Corruption.

    I totally agree with Conservative Immigrant. Social Security is just one of many rip-offs by Uncle Scam. He makes the perfect point – if the liberals/democraps’ policies and programs are so great, why does government have to force them onto us, against the will of most Americans??…..Likewise, many commentors here seem frustrated by the drones and diehard liberal morons whose comments make no sense. Well, these comments (HFlashman, Debra Lopez, et al) can also be useful and amusing – if you do what I do. That is, you can copy and paste them onto PowerPoint, along with a picture of the Great One, Mark Levin doing his radio program. We can create dibujos or skits, with 2 captions. First caption is the liberal moron’s comment, then the 2nd caption will be the Great One responding with a quote such as: “Get off the phone you big dope!!”

    it will not be possible to change the politics of this country until we change the habits of the politicians. our congressmen and senators have a large country club in wash.dc. it has taken them many years to create this utopia, thanks to the taxpayers.
    come november and if the polls are right, we elect a new congress and senate while at the same time many of the old guard will be sitting there waiting for their prey to join them. that’s when the goodies start showing up and in a matter of time the plebes will fall from their righteous stature and give in to temptation.
    remember “the boy scouts” (republicans) from the “contract with america,” how long did it take before they had no idea what the contract for america stood for, have you heard “sean hannity” calling for a signed contract again. you mean they have to sign a contract to make them honest?? “when they sear in doesn’t that cover them”.
    at this present time we have a congress and senate full of socialist
    and driving this country into ruin, unless we remove these people and their communist agenda there probably won’t be a second chance. if and when they are removed, we should demand term limits and very restrictive ones. the pay scale should be revised and place them all on social security and they will have to be covered under the same health care as you and i. that way there won’t be a delay in their canceling obama care. we can see how destructive four years can be so we should never allow congressmen to stay longer than two two year terms and the senate to two four year terms. they don’t need to stay longer.

      Yup. But it will take either an aggressive noisy revolution or a long time the peaceful way because they have the power we’ve allowed them to have, which they use against us. In fact it may be too late without the former. We’re giving them the money to screw us with.

    I hear those of you who feel that Social Security was a flop. Social Security is the only program that does work. The only problem we have with SS is that the politicians have been able tap into the funds for whatever they “need”. They produce an IOU but fail to repay the system. If SS funds had never been touched by congress there would be no funding problem. Now they say that the IOUs cover the system. If that is so, then why isn’t it solvent? Because in order to pay back the IOUs it has to be taken from the taxpayer (again). Congress should have no authority over SS funds. The funds should only be used for the intended purpose and handled by the States. The Federal government needs to get back to their primary function and that is to defend and protect the States and it’s people.

      It is solvent. Last I heard, there hasn’t been a default in payment and there’s enough to continue making payments for quite some time.

      I agree though. It was supposed to be a lock box. But then came Raygun and his scam and fraud act. Here’s a fact to chew on. Fewer than half of taxpayers have ANY cash savings, while more than half did before Reagan took office.

      Because of to Reaganomics, Social Security was converted from a pay-as-you go system into a subtle way to subtle way to overtax wages and thus finance tax cuts for the rich. The integrated federal budget (SS used to be accounted for separately) made this sleight-of-tax possible.

      But then…he’s a hero right? Frippin’ disaster is what he was..

    you say social security should be handled by the states. i live in california we are ruled by liberal democrats, are you knowledgeable of californias fiscal situation? if so, you would retract your statement.
    democrats are not fiscally responsible, especially these modern day socialist and the republicans are too wimpy and weak. i doubt if california could ever be returned to a state of the republic as intended by the founders. we are overrun with illegal and minority citizens who thrive on welfare and a large fed and state employment. they would all be satisfied with a cuban type rule. free pot, free housing and health care and a small monthly stipend.
    i look for the stores to start giving peso’s in change any day.

      Allen is 100% correct in his assertion that the States should handle things like social insecurity. the federal government has NO constitutional authority to have established such a fraud er.. I mean program. This power is meant to be left to the States. If you live in a retarded State like California then you can move to a more sane State where the government actually stands up for liberty. If there is any left. Thats what I did. California should secede and take the northeast, Oregon and maybe Washington with them and form their own Socialist Union and leave the rest of us alone :)

    After the last two stock market crashes you would think the republicans would wise up, but no they still want to invest SSI taxes in Wall street.A multi trillion dollar bonus for their buddies.Other republicans want to eliminate social security medicare and medicaid altogether.I would rather stick with the Obama plan anyday for the benefit of senior citizens, veterans and disabled.The question was asked “why do liberals come to this site”? It’s kinda like a gaper delay.
