Red State Giving Obama The Blues

May 25, 2012 by

Losing North Carolina? In last week’s column Barack Obama’s Really Bad Day, I discussed how Obama’s endorsement of same-sex marriage could hurt him in North Carolina — a State he carried by a razor-thin margin in 2008. The latest Rasmussen poll says it’s already happening; Mitt Romney has taken a decisive 51 percent to 43 percent lead over the President in the Tar Heel State. Adding to the Democrats’ woes, several gay-rights groups are demanding that that they move their national convention to another State to punish North Carolinians for supporting an amendment to the State constitution declaring marriage as a union of one man and one woman.

JPMorgan Chase can afford the loss. The media have been filled with stories about how some errant trades in its London office cost banking biggie JPMorgan Chase about $2 billion. But I haven’t seen any mention of the fact that the losses represent just a fraction of the $25 billion the bank received in bailout money. One big difference between bankers and bureaucrats is that the former will learn from their mistakes, not just keep repeating them.

The Greek crisis produces a new vocabulary. Will other European nations agree to pay “drachmail” to keep a “grexit” from taking place? If not, could the “Acropolypse” lead to “Eurogeddon” ultimately? These are just some of the new words being coined to describe the possibility that Greece will leave the European Union. No one knows for certain if such a “grexit” will take place, of course — or even what the consequences of it would be.

That small nation has a big impact. The financial headlines make it appear that Greece is the most important country in the world right now. Investor concerns about what will happen there have lopped billions of dollars off stocks in this country. But consider: Wal-Mart is just one of the 30 companies that comprise the Dow Jones industrial average, yet Wal-Mart’s worldwide annual revenue and annual Medicaid spending are 40 percent larger than Greece’s entire economy. Doesn’t it seem strange that such a small economy could have such a huge impact on the world?

Mitt Romney Is not the answer I think this yrs election for President will go down to as the worst in history. Why because because current occupant was not and is not the answer. The Blacks, Dems and Libs & Gays will vote for him no matter what. On the other hand people will vote for a cultist i.e. Mormon, elitist RINO. I for one will not vote for either. But will vote for OTHER on my California Ballot.

You are right. This is exactly a repeat of 2008, The power people, (Bilderbergs, CFR, etc) have repeated 2008 where we were given a political wimp who would not attack Obama. Now Romney has declared that he will not attack Obama either. That means that all the bad history of this joke of a president will not come to the attention of the lethargic American leaches. They will never come to understand that the escalating spending will bring an end to the value of those free dollars they have been getting from our government.

And now the Bilderberg types are so confident that they are on schedule to destroy our nation that they don’t even try to stop information from getting out.

Thing about how many of the candidaes WERE KNOWN to be part of the agenda. Perry was at a Bilderberg meeting, (and you don’t go unless you are IN). Gingrich was a CFR. Does anyone know of anyone who was not a part of these groups, except maybe Palin?

How about Obama and H Clinton. Both of them were there last year.

    • Carolann Julian

I’m white, female, and 71 years old. I and many other folks like me have and will again vote for Barack Obama. I think he is a great president.

      • eddie47d

There are many others who think like you Carolann but the poison has been set against him so he could lose. Romney isn’t loved much either so it shall be interesting.

    • Jeff

You go, girl. And see if you can convince your friends in Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia to do likewise.

My previous comment was meant, facetiously, for Wayne. But it goes double and for real to you.

  • Ted Crawford

While the North Carolina Rasmussen poll is encouraging, I think that polls, this far out have little value, except perhaps to Campaign Stratetigsts. As for moving the Convention, I think that logistics, at this late date, would make that highly unlikely.
The JP Morgam Chase issue is little more than a distraction for Obama. A tempest in a Tea Cup if you will and of primary concern only to those of us who are account holders!
In the case of Greece, might not the old addage of ” The straw that broke the Camels back ” apply?

    • Vigilant

Ted, your comment about Greece is correct. Chip Wood is making a mistake in sizing up the situation.

The problem is the result of globalization. Countries in the IMF and other banking multinationals have a lot of long green invested (wasted) on Greek bailouts. Given the heavy participation in this ponzi scheme by the US, and given the perilous financial situation our country is in, it would indeed take just a hiccup in Greece to topple the whole apparatus.

      • Ted Crawford

A default by Greece might also serve to further the , appearent intent, of the IMF to replace the American Dollar with their Special Drawing Rights (SDR), electronic currency, as the Reserve Currency!

  • Rick in MN (USAF/ret)

I think the most appropriate venue for the Democratic Convention these days would be Venezuela. So why don’t they move it to there!

    • Alex

Air Farce babykiller. The USAF is KNOWN for Christian indoctrination of cadets, sexual attacks on women, and rabid racism.
Anyone who joins an organization whose main purpose is to drop bombs on sleeping babies in morally bankrupt.

    • Charles Bill L.

believe it would be more fitting to have it in Bejing.

  • Raggs

Hummm.. The commie media keeps on keeping on about JP Morgan and not a damm thing being said of Corzine and his pocket monkey oblama.

  • http://NONE AD Roberts

Let’s see, the Democrats will cave to the ;homos, who constitute about 2% of the population and in doing so ignore the 25% who are Christians. But maybe, they knew that they had already lost the Christian vote. LOL

    • eddie47d

Why would he lose the Christian vote unless those Christians are afraid of acceptance of others. Heck it took the South years to get over segregation and there are still a few pockets of resistance. As far as moving to Venezuela (according to Rick) I say hang tough on this Obama and keep the convention in NC. .

      • Jeff

What makes the Christians “christian”? Certainly not an adherence to anything Jesus ever said or stood for. Has anyone ever been less like Jesus than Rick Santorum?

As to Greece, it is simple. The Europeans were dumb enough to tie the nations together with the money, the Euro, but not have ANY control on the out of control spending of some of the member nations. Greeks refuse to stop spending more than they make. So what is the common market to do? They could admit defeat and kick Greece out. (To much pride and arrogance to do that) No, they will allow Greece to take down the Euro. And that, Chip, is a big deal.

  • FEDUP!

Well Carolann, you are a lot older than me and I respect my elders, but you should be ashamed of yourself if you plan to screw the whole country by voting for the worst president in hisory. It will affect me a lot longer than it will affect you. Thanks A lot!

  • Jerry

What I am really curious about is how will the Catholic vote go down? The whole melt down last year between the White House and the Vatican over the homosexuality issue was very encouraging to any Republican. Has the Vatican come out with a stance like they did last year? If yes I have not seen it

  • Alex

Remember, the tarheel state allowed a collection of Nazis and Klan members to orchestrate the massacre of Communist Workers Party activists and get away with it.
    Dumb state. Inbred state.

  • Charles Bill L.

Give the perverts an inch and they take a hundred miles.

    • Jeff

You think there’s a chance Gomer and Floyd won’t vote for Obama? What could make you think such a thing? But what about Howard Sprague?

  • Oldbutnot a dumbass 2012

I’M 70 Years old,I’m also white.and I think obombo is the worst president in the entire history of this country ,followed by a far distanced second”tricky Dickie(RMN) and third LBJ.You would have to combine almost all the faults ,and mistakes of al the presidents in the history of the USA to total what obombo has done.
