I have said for a long time that the FDA should be an advisory body like consumer reports. WE, the people will decide if we believe them and avoid raw milk or snake oil.

For a truly free people this is the only way it can work.

THis is why we want to elect Ron Paul for president, and that is to eliminate the FDA and other agencies like it. WE want smaller government and more States Rights like our Constitution gives us. Say no to more government, and big government. Does it, or has it been working? Sure don’t look like it. Because of “Big Government”, America is “going to hell in a handbasket”.

Don’t know what the big deal is. I grew up in Iowa, and had raw milk for 18 years! Never, ever got sick, once. As a matter of fact, I am more healthy today than most folks around me. I never get the flew, and I get one minor cold a year (in the spring). Other than that, perfect health. FDA should focus on more important things than mild.

The only thing I can think of is power! Then again, the corperations and their lobbyists could also have something to do with this. It is now time that we the people wake up, take an interest in goverment and take it away from those that are now in control. The power needs to be in the people.

The BIG DEAL is dairy products are big buisness controled by large conglumerates who seperate the goodness out of whole milk leaving a white deluted liquid. Then they pasturize it which hides the butterfat content after this you have “whole milk”with about 4%BF content.
I too grew up on milk straight from the family cow.My dad had a bottle marked to show BF content. We would fill the bottle and let it set overnight, cream would raise to the top IF it didnot show 12% BF that cow would be fattened up and come fall would end up in the freezer.
Big buisness does not want the little guy to take away ANY OF THIER PROFITS.

There should be more people doing this type of demonstration. I would love to have raw milk, but the closest place to buy it is about 60 miles away, and it is only available one day a week.

Normally, I wouldn’t respond to a topic like this, but it needs to be said that people don’t always ask WHY Uncle Scam is so anal retentive in what seems to be a simple issue. That is, if people want to drink raw milk, LET THEM DRINK RAW MILK.
Dairy farmers who KNOW how to make quality raw milk can be trusted. Raw milk is nutritious. Pasteurized milk is DEAD MILK and it is not nutritious but it’s “BIG BUSINESS” and MANY people are firmly attached to Uncle Scam’s large teats [interesting image, eh?].
The heart of the issue is, as always, POWER. In Uncle Scam’s way of “thinking,” every business in America is ‘in on it,’ and either you’re on the inside and getting a slice of the economic pie, or you’re an outsider who’s trying to buck the system. As a mere consumer, folks, THAT makes you DANGEROUS.
It’s no different than supplements (vitamins, herbs, minerals, etc.). People who make quality products deserve to be able to sell their products.
Those products are TAXED, and it should that SIMPLE [#^&* off, Uncle Scam!].
Uncle Scam’s non-logic about milk is IDENTICAL to
the approach used by Obs and his healthcare SCAM. That is, UNCLE SCAM CAN DO ANYTHING. He can make you buy ANYTHING that he demands that we buy. That means he can DEMAND that we not buy, not trade or even give away ANYTHING.
Uncle Scam, you’re treading on thin ice. If your sorry ass falls in (or you are the target of America’s wrath), I can live with that. Can YOU, Uncle Scam?

Raw milk is delicious and full of nutients….theeis one drawback. If the farmers milk is contaminated with disease BACTERIAS UNDULENT FEVER, from pusy milk from cows or goats teat, then the people come down with Undulent Fever, and their is no cure I was told for it. I was seeking raw milk 5 years ago, like we had on our very clean farm s cows, but a dairy farmer told me he put the gargety pusy milk right in with the pure clean milk. Therefore I did not buy any raw milk. I still would love to own my own cow or goat for pure milk that would cost m a fortune to care for the animal to keep it healthy. I will have to do with pasturized milk. You can pasturize your own milk, on a long time low certain heat, then cool it to cold very quick in under cold ice water and put in frig. Yougurt hs to come to a rolling boiling point before made, milk does not.

In all of the blogs I have read about raw milk, I have not heard of one person getting sick. As long as the cows are taken care of properly and are clean, therre is no problem. If someone sold milk that could make someone sick, they’d be nuts! (Not like Big Pharma selling all their drugs that make people sick!)

Brucellosis has a vaccine for cattle (bangs). You can also get it from handling raw meat or even your dog. Very RARE ocurance in the U.S. It is treatable with antibotics. “Trust but verify” I have my own milk cow, still waiting for that delicious healthy milk.

Mammals evolved so that mothers can produce milk to be consumed by thier young in the early months, for most species. We like cow milk, which evolved to allow a newborn calf reach 200 lbs. quickly. It is no wonder we have a weight problem! Diary tastes great, we all know, but is not as good for our health as we have been lead to believe. This is a greater issue and is largely absent here.
