Rats Joining Occupy D.C. Protesters

Rats Joining Occupy D.C. Protesters

WASHINGTON (UPI) — An explosion of rats has occurred in Washington at the two locations where Occupy D.C. protesters are camped out, health officials said.

Director Mohammad N. Akhter of the District of Columbia’s Department of Health told The Washington Post that inspectors have seen the rodents running around at both protest camps.

In addition, numerous new burrows and nests have been found under the hay-stuffed pallets that occupiers are using for beds.

Both campsites had working kitchens operating until last week when health inspectors pointed out unsanitary conditions at the McPherson Square site.

“I am very supportive of their rights and ability to demonstrate but I have concerns about their personal safety,” Akhter said.

He said he has ordered a citywide review of conditions at the camps.

The National Park Service has official jurisdiction over the two camps and will make the final decision about whether to evict protesters.

Please do NOT give uncritical acceptance of the Hegelian Right’s slander campaign against OWS- these are a diverse group of INDIVIDUALS that can and have been reasoned with as individuals. While it is true that the Hegelian Left has sought to coopt the popular discontent as has their fascists counterparts – they have NOT gotten the results they had sought.

I find much to commend them – and certain points of concern that should be addressed with grace and humility. It is that abject lack of grace and humility that gives the Hegelian Right WARFARE STATE crowd ZERO credibility when they refuse to admit to their own shortcomings.

Both the Tea Party and the OWS groups would have much to gain by dialoging over the issues to find common concern – chiefly by getting past the divisive surface issues to address fundamental matters. For example – rather than “gay” rights – we could address INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS and both sides would actually be in harmony instead of perpetual contrived conflict. Should you wish to contact me to see about arranging this my e-mail is MarkAnabaptist @ATT.net

Neither a Welfare State, Nor a Warfare State – but a LAWFUL STATE

We are all wrong about something – thus let us not persist in error – we must be open to correction if we are to expect it of others

    • CJM

Mark: Apparently you condone the rapes, murders, thefts, assaults, and a multitude of other felonious behaviors by these “protestors.” What they are really protesting is the fact that we have LAWS for all to follow and they desparately want to be exempted just like corrupt politicians have exempted themselves from such laws as Insider Trading so they can fatten their personal financial portfolios. The US Constitution says NO ONE, including politicians and these filthy protestors, is exempt from the law. I find them to be contemptible, poor excuses of human beings, and certainly nothing to “commend” them for.

HM-M-m-mph, This is actually, really scandalous in my opinion. It’s…just…like everything in this country is deteriorating so much faster than I thought. I’ve done some research and…rats…they are, comparatively, an historically proud race. But now, to see…once proud rats brought so low. Now they’re even found…ugh, cohabiting and mingling with OWS-types. Awck! Will it never end? Lord help Your poor rats.

    • Klaus

There is no way you can make any comparison between Tea Party protests and OWS. Tea Party protests do not attract rats, don’t cost the city a bundle of money to clean up after them, and do not have incidences of rape, murder and just plain lawlessness. How anyone can even think that there is anything in common with the two groups is totally beyond comprehension.

      • jay Lindberg

Actually they have a lot in common. Both are targeting different parts of the same beast. That beast- Abuses of power and corruption of the Federal government. Another similarity- the building of a national movement. You should have never allowed the Tea Party to be stolen from the Ron Paul style Libertarians by the likes of the Koch Brothers.

As far as the false claims of supposed criminality associated with OWS. Zeig Heil

        • Wil

Is the Koch bros. really all you libs can come up with?Tell you what, maybe Soros can give you some pointers next time he stops by your camp.

        • DanB

I will give you difference. One party wants to slay the beast. The other want to “upgrade” the beast by giving it more power and authority. I don’t expect you to figure out which group is for slaying the beast. It is hard to say you are against corruption when you want a bigger version of the beast that is corrupted…. Of course, the irony is lost on them….

      • Karolyn

That’s just because Tea Partiers are not as dedicated to their cause as OWSers. And don’t tell me it’s because they work. What about the retired? They would rather have their nice warm beds than rough it for what they believe in. Hey, can’t blame them. That’s what happens when you get old.

        • Mike in MI

          K -
Now who is it that is really committed to their cause?
Someone who lives his/her principles everyday – or – someone who gets paid to show up at the protest site for a few hours a week?
Someone who tends and nurtures a family lovingly – or – a walkoff mom who flits in and out of her kid’s existence or a deadbeat, donegone dad (maybe I should say, “dud”.)
A wellkempt, clean chaste individual who tends her/his temple mindful of the Lord’s instruction – or – some slippery slimeball who does anything, anytime, anywhere, with anyone to share “lu-u-uv” along with any and all the syph, pox, pus, crabs, clap, clamydia, candida, herpes, aids, hepatitus and whatever else any of the last ten partners may have had.
I could go on but I think you get my drift. So, who IS COMMITTED to their cause?
          K ?????

          • BSG

The difference is in the brain cells. The fleabaggers are living in tents with rats and becoming a laughing stock to most Americans while the tea party folks are sleeping in their beds and putting their energy into recruiting good candidates and enlisting voters to put in a sensible majority in the government so that the madness can stop. Fleabaggers won’t even be able to vote because they don’t have an address with which to register….but perhaps that won’t be necessary anymore?

I wonder if it was a member of the Hegelian left that abandoned the 13 month old baby at the OWS site. I never heard of any Tea Party baby being abandoned.

      • Karolyn

Did you even stop to think that the baby might have been left by an outsider who trusted the protesters to take care of it?

        • Void1972

          Karolyn

The only way to compare the OWS freaks with the Tea Party is good against evil.
If you notice everything that the freaks have been doing, compared to the good American citizens of the Tea Party, you will see the battle to come will be good or God against evil, or satan.
Every elected official, news commentator or person the condones these freaks are with satan.
These are the animals that elected the obamination, and now their ignorance has come home to roost!
They have no jobs, no money, no homes, but they have their corrupt illegitimate President!

Instead of trashing the park, they need to go to the White House, and see how receptive their hero Obama will be to them camping out on the lawn of the White House and inside like they have in State buildings.

    • lkar

The Tea party seeks a park permit, follows the rules, protests, and then leaves. OWS just protests and stays. So which is the “LAWFUL STATE? Which group has more crediability to engage in dialog?
I can agree with priciples of any group I wish (at least so far). However, if I had a government job responsibility like MR.Akhter, this protest should be cleared/evicted! These same government bozos have no problem shutting down little girl’s lemonade stands!

      • Mike in MI

        Ikar -
Actually, little girls won’t have a chance to vote before the socialist utopian lock-down and establishment of officer-assisted-social-organization. So, government reps want her accustommed and habituated to the conditions they will set on anybody conducting any activity that entails personal initiative or extend a service that doesn’t first attribute honor and obedience to our own version of Kim Sung Ungk.

    • Sol of Texas

      Mark –

Be careful throwing around terms like “fascist”. Fascist movements began and proceeded as leftist socialist movements with strong nationalistic appeal. Did you not know that the abbreviated word “Nazi” derives from “National Socialist German Workers Party”?

The authors on this site are always prodding for extreme reactions and as per usual they got it. Mark advocates for sanity from both sides and all he gets is more insanity. CJM pushes the buttons a little further and doesn’t have a clue of what is really happening out there. People are unemployed CJM,they have been had by the financial system, they are bitter and backed into a corner and are fighting back. You should be more concerned about the RATS on Wall Street and Washington instead of attempting to inflict more pain and disillusionment on OWS protesters. Just because those working on Wall Street wear suits and live in expensive homes doesn’t take away their obligation to the rest of society. It doesn’t give them the right to exploit mortgage buyers and investors. It doesn’t give them the right to make a killing on the Stock Market through illegal means and not go to jail for it. An Ivy league education doesn’t give them the right to implode the American economy and destroy the lifestyles of others because of self serving greed. The RATS are everywhere except you are too blind to see.

      • Wil

And why aren’t they?Seems to work just fine for Obama,Pelosi,Reid, etc.

      • http://sbcglobal.net CCLE1

I’m not supporting any of the illegal and corrupt actions of Wall Street but the OWS protestor movement was started and funded by Big Labor Unions and Obuma! I read all about it a month or so before it began. It was originally called “A day of Outrage”. The unions sponsored training camps on how to be disobedient and cause a civil uproar. So I have no pity or sympathy for OWS! They are a bunch of lazy thoughtles, lawless free riding losers and should clean up their mess and leave or go to jail!

        • Mike in MI

          Now,now, CCLE1 -
oddie47 has made it very, very clear we shouldn’t say anything at all if we can’t say either something nice or something that he agrees with – which is essentially like eating dry, unsoaked beans with beer and saurkraut.

      • Kenneth

Not everybody that is unemployed gets tangled with protests and the like. I have been unemployed and am now working part time to try and help feed my family. At the same time rather than be bitter about what life has handed me I decided to go back to school and get a degree. Maybe being bitter and protest is some of the answer but untill Americans are willing to get off their lazy butts and work America will continue its spiral downward. I agree the laws of the land do not help and politicians are greedy just like every other human however when it comes to protesters engaging in behaviors that the Word of God clearly states as sin one has to stop and seriously consider what the benefits of their protesting is and what are they really achieving. I would like to mention that some of us on these forums respond to others without taking the time to really think about what we are saying and just sling mud because we are angry at the truth while their are others that think and write well informed responses. Thanks to all who take the time to think things through before responding to others it makes you credible and your response enjoyable to read.

        • Elyse

What does the Word of God say about protests? I thought Jesus had his own protest at the temple- I think that was also about corrupt hypocrates.

          • JUKEBOX

You don’t understand that in our Progressive world today that hypocrits and duplicity are qualities to be admired, not at all like their perception in the days of Jesus.

The US National Parks Dept does NOT need additional time to contemplate the eviction of this rabble–it should have been done the second day. No permit should have ever (if one actually was) been issued. These are felons out for an extended holiday…and it’s time to end it PERMANENTLY.

  • james

If the OWS crowd can get away from big govt solutions and more big govt control, then they could probably find common ground with the Tea Party. From what I have seen; from many varied different sources and from personal observation is that ows is just about blind rage with no solutions except that benign govt should save us and make everything equal. Nothing “Hegelian” about any ows stuff I saw. I used to watch anti war protests on c-span, and the Cindy Sheehan “protests”, and it looks to me like all the same groups are present. Some corporations do bad things, but if the govt gets in bed with them, I see that more a problem of govt than corporations. The answer is not more benign govt; but less govt-doing only what it is supposed to do.

The biggest “Hegelian” Red herring/BS is that there is no difference between left and right politically.

Quote from article: “I am very supportive of their rights and ability to demonstrate but I have concerns about their personal safety,” Akhter said.

I think they (occupiers) should have unfettered access to protest all they want, in any conditions they want, HOWEVER, they do NOT get free medical care when they get ill from their chosen, if temporary living condition!

    • Nadzieja Batki

On property that they bought the protesters can protest all they want. If they are protesting on property that is public land, who is the representative of the public that gave them permission. Since we pay taxes for the public land were any of you asked for this permission.

      • Karolyn

They are the public too and pay taxes.

        • Brad

Karolyn, that’s not always the case and you know that…

        • JUKEBOX

The only taxes they pay is sales tax on the things they occasionly buy.

    • ekim

Okay, as long as they occupy and protest in their own privete place or a private place donated by their wealthy backers and stop occupying the public sites that should be open for the use of ALL citizens during the day!

  • David

    Such hateful, ugly rhetoric.
The protestors are there because the big players have raped our economy with the assistance of a greed-driven Congress. You can call the protestors ugly names and denigrate them to your heart’s content, but they wouldn’t be there if the big players hadn’t acted so dispicably.
I’d even wager the rats were introduced to the camps by anti-protestors.

    • JUKEBOX

No, the rats just chose to abandon Congress, because Congress made even the rats sick.

      • Mike in MI

Jukey -Ah-heet! Ah-heet, heet, heet. Yuckity luv’, man.

    • Sol of Texas

      Davo –

Consider that the greed-driven Congress exists because a majority (sometimes only a plurality) of greed-driven citizens have permitted and embraced it. Please don’t protest that Obama or Bush “started it”. This has been going on for decades, but the momentum is now so large even the most dim witted citizens can see how corrupt our institutions (and we) have become. There are very few innocents involved in this tragedy.

      • Mike in MI

Sol (such a sunny name!) of TX -
One of the biggest problems that I see as being necessary to overcome (if we ever get a chance) is subsidies and government payments toward any product or service extended for public consumption.
The poison this introduces is that society, technology and social pressures change. But government money, power, authority and influences keep archaic and obsolete products, services, utilities and management styles locked in cement, unchanging. The result is a failure to advance and creation of unnecessary pressure and stress on the whole system. Medicine is a perfect example (one specific would be cancer treatment deaths because FDA regulation and control of medications, treatments and protection of pharmaceutical companies depresses that whole market, to say nothing of spreading unfathomable cruelty and waste).

        • Mike in MI

Correction: I should have said, “SUPPORTS” THAT WHOLE MARKET, yet depressing newer better cures and systems of care, while spreading unfathomable…etc.

      • ekim

You said it all ! Give up the i phones and flip some burgers during the day so you can afford a roof at night. Seem s they have worn out the welcome !

its called public perception or public relations. If you want to affect public opinion, you need to craft a coherent message. Those of you who want pure democracy should embrace this above all else.

      • Nadzieja Batki

Go back and study history of this country. We were given a REPUBLIC.

        • james

Read the statement once again SLOWLY…I know the US is a republic; OWS claim they are about democracy.

    • JUKEBOX

Isn’t that what the PROGRESSIVES have adopted for the last twenty years or so?

    • eddie47d

It’s easy to sensationalize the OWS protesters because they are outside and visible. The media has instant reporting capabilities so the OWS become easy targets in daily reporting. The media has also exposed the shenanigans on Wall Street and how those controllers inside Wall Street has made billions at the expense of millions of homeowners. The truth is out there yet the media can only get so much mileage out of the misdeeds of Wall Street. It’s easier to bash the more visible OWS protesters. I think the OWS protesters are absolutely right but it is best if you all go home and fight the bastards on Wall Street from your home computer. Join a blog site and nail the thieves on Wall Street by constantly educating the readers of the harm Wall Street has done. Don’t be outside and making yourselves a visible target for that is too easy for the right wingers to be tearing you down. Remember that the right wingers will label you as filth while the filth on Wall Street get a free pass. Head to the libraries and get up to date on the corruption on Wall Street. Then E-Mail your friends with facts not angry shouts of frustration. While your at it E-Mail your Representatives and either expose them for their being complicit or if not convince them to be on your side. Work within the system and if that doesn’t work go underground but don’t let the Inside Traders (no matter where they hide) get away with what they have been doing. Expose the mortgage brokers with facts so they can be the ones who go to jail NOT YOU.

      • Wil

Interesting that the media you speak of is mostly liberal, yet you somehow equate them to the right.Although I understand that libs are easily confused.

        • ohoh

Most of the power elites behind Wall Street are progressive liberals as well. They are controlling, disruptive and apolitical in their greed for money and power. They continue to play both sides of false dilemmas their purchased politicos present to us in politics and academia in order to distract and control the same way they have for decades in the U.S. and for centuries around the world. By playing their game of pre-packaged issues and mantras, most of us don’t have to think past party politics or very much at all to feel like stakeholders in the process. The OWS like to think they’re above this, when, in reality, they, like most in the Tea Party, are classic dupes. The right-left political spectrum is a fraud. Just keep asking, “Cui bono?”

        • 45caliber

          Wil:

  • EHeassler, USN-Ret.

I think the city will have a much easier time dealing with the four legged rats than with the two legged variety. Mark is making a pathetic plea to the Tea Party to accept some sort of inherent guilt as a common quality and reason de etre to join forces with the OWS crowd. There is no comparison between the two groups. The Tea Partiers have acted lawfully, gained required permits, closed their rallies and left the areas at times agreed upon, and left them cleaner than when they found them. Also, I don’t think their is a record of any arrests of a Tea Partier connected with their activiities. In contrast, the OWS crowd has commandeered public areas for their own use, set up semi-permanent encampments, left mounds of garbage, debris, and in some cases, human feces, had sex in the open, taunted authorities, demanded free services, and generally bullied city administrations. Their demands generally start with, “Give me……” There may be some well meaning but naive individuals in with the OWS crowd, but generally I consider them to be tools of Van Jones, George Soros, Bill Ayers and other Obama cronies. They are a divisive force and bring nothing positive to the table except a litany of “gimmies”.

    • Sol of Texas

Go Navy!!! (perhaps I am biased — I think the Navy is the best branch of the armed services – no offense to the Marines, Army, Air Force, or Coast Guard)

      • Michael Hardesty

They all suck, abolish the military, no defensive wars for America since 1776. Cut “defense” 95% and end Pentagon Socialism.
Both OWS and Tea Party are statists, just in different ways.
Paul’s the only electoral hope now.

        • 45caliber

You forgot, at least, the war of 1812. And I’d certainly believe that the Confederacy was fighting a defensive war.

        • EHeassler, USN-Ret.

I like many of the policies espoused by Ron Paul but do not agree with his isolationist foreign policies. We live in a world of instant communication, nuclear weapons, and in a country bordered by two oceans and the Gulf Of Mexico. That is before considering our two non-contiguous states of Hawaii and Alaska or the territories of Guam and Puerto Rico. Our enemies are drooling at the prospect of our weakened military and will soon began making encroachments upon our maritime and international interests. Your response concerning the military only displays your ignorance and the tone of your response brings discredit upon the politian you are trying to espouse. Ron Paul would probably prefer you didn’t speak on his behalf.

Amazing to read the intolerance of the tolerant leftists/progressives,marxist-engels.

      • eddie47d

Yet you constantly heap praise upon the intolerant right wing fascists who have taken over our Wall Street economy and laid financial waste to millions of lives.

        • Mike in MI

Uh, eddie – disabuse yourself of such displaced inferences/opinions
The left-wingers caused the disruption in those lives.
Barney, Obama, Clinton, Rubin and others decided that everybody in the nation deserved to have the American nightmare in the form of as much house as they could coerce the banks to lend to the effort.
The bankers and mortgators balked – hard – cause they were being told they must loan the money or go to court for maybe fines or jail on civil rights violations.
The finance wizards were being forced to loan money to deadbeats without money, collateral, jobs or trustworthy co-signers. They could see the death of their firms and livelihoods.
So, Clinton/Barney told them, “Don’t worry, you can’t lose that much. There’s plenty of money in the system. We can tap into enough to make sure you get your money and won’t be harmed…at all. Ya, a few people will have to get hosed. But our friends deserve to have the nicest houses money can buy…and…it’ll make us look good.”
Well, it finally hit the fan (a little bit heavier than they expected), but they had made promises. So they had to deliver, no matter who got hurt, how much or how many.
I hope you took notice that nobody bothered to keep or demand that records be closely kept on any of it. A liberal congress shedding Liberal liberality – with other people’s lifetime savings..tsk, tsk.

        • eddie47d

“The bankers and mortgage companies bulked-hard” Now that was a doozy! Those two entities were part and parcel of the mortgage scams. They even endorsed bigger and bigger ponzi schemes to go along with the old ones. Remember those packaged deals that were sold on the world markets. They didn’t come from the government but from the banks and Wall Street themselves. Laying that all on Liberals is like blaming the passengers on the Titanic for the sinking. Washington may have been the ship builder but they didn’t tell the captains on Wall Street to steer the economy off the cliff.

          • Mike in MI

oddie – If you’d take a little more time reading, maybe you could think and respond straighter: I said “BALKED” not “bulked”.
Take more time anyway. Your metaphor was really tortured…convoluted and inept.
The rest of it? Suffice it to say, “That’s only the beginning”! How about: the fire under the Clinton Boom was fueled by the housing sector activity? That was due to the rewrite Rubin had to do on the charters of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and the other Government Sponsored Entities which shuffled the money around without having to be bothered by any SEC snooping? I mean the SEC just couldn’t go there. That’s how all those good and bad subprime loans got secretly “bundled” and “packaged” together to be floated overseas and here at home without any SEC scrutiny or oversight.
Then when the bubble burst in 2007 Bawney Phwanque and Kwiss Dodd howled bloody murder about LAX SEC OVERSIGHT to divert attention from their role in it all when they ROLLED AND MUGGED America in the TARP and Bailout frenzy to payback their banker friends. That way the Demoncrabs could continue to recieve their huge campaign contribution donations and lobbyists attentions unabated.
And never forget, Fannie Mae’s head head foah Bawney was Fwankwin Wains.

        The Tea Party is dead.

      • JUKEBOX

Who promotes the will of George Soros, Warren Buffett, and all of the LIBERAL billionaires, who make the Koch Brothers look like paupers?

  • http://DoULoveJesus.Wordpress.com Mark Dabney

OOPS – TRIAL BY MEDIA takes things out of context – did you even READ what I wrote about UNCRITICAL ACCEPTANCE? Have you actually EXAMINED these allegations – or just taken what you were sold at face value? if so – you are the Hegelian Right’s sycophant

@David – thank you – OWS is NOT monolithic – there are certain elements that need to be disabused – but my concern is how things are being grossly misrepresented. War based on fraudulent pretexts where no one is held accountable makes no one either safe or free – those that UNCRITICALLY accept anything the media presents to us have insulted their Creator by failing to use the gift of REASON that He has endowed to each of us to some measure or another

  • Maxine

MAYBE THE LITTLE RATS WILL GO LIVE WITH THE BIG RATS IN THE WHITE HOUSE

    • eddie47d

Those angry about Wall Street should have dumped RAT poison inside the halls of every corporate office in America and watch the RATS scurry out. Now if you want to do it to Congress feel free and we could then have a national RATFEST.

      • JUKEBOX

It would have been better to release a few thousand King Snakes, especially in the midst of the OWS protests. That would have cleared out the two and four legged rats.

  • Kris

Democracy does not work! That is why we are a democratic REPUBLIC!!!!!! These are no longer the first protesters, this are mainly the socialists, the communists and the unions who are the ows protesters! They in NO WAY resemble the tea party!!!! The tea party got permits, peacefully assembled, said their peace, left no litter and did’nt cost the taxpayers one single penny! They didn’t camp out, cost small business to lose business, assault, rape, rob or steal from each other! SO QUIT TRYING TO COMPARE THEM TO THE TEA PARTY DEMONSTRATIONS!

    • jbird

Just to back you up, the picture above shows CWA rain slicker on the OWS person. How many there are ONLY there because its another union, communist party, socialist party, Move On, etc. handout party.

    • eddie47d

There are plenty of Veterans, working people, unemployed folks of all walks of life protesting the evils on Wall Street,Big Pharma hooliganism and even Big Government at these OWS rallies. All you are doing is dumping on people who have already been dumped upon and that doesn’t make you much of an outstanding citizen either. So maybe the lame name calling should be leveled at you.

      • lkar

When you say “dumped on” is that metaphorically or literally?

  • jbird

OWS is Occupy WELFARE Street. They protest having to pay the low cost student loan they accepted ‘from GOVERNMENT’ , they protest the unqualified housing loans being foreclosed that were only loaned because ‘Fanny & Freddy’ ( overseen by Barney Frank and Frank Dodd ) and banks were forced to give by ‘the GOVERNMENT’ and they protest lack of jobs caused by ‘the GOVERNMENT’ agencies attacking businesses that bring us energy and those jobs. They want more WELFARE to bail out the people that WELFARE put there in the first place!! Occupy a JOB line and vote against the politicians that were ‘on watch’ while these tragedies took place, AND stop taking those government handouts that working people have to pay for!!

    • Mike in MI

      Coodna sed’t better mah shelf,
But since you already did, I won’t. Well done.

    • eddie47d

Some good points jbird but extremely one sided so we’ll toss it in the fiction column. Besides Bush/Cheney are out of office and have avoided prosecution.

  • Harvey

It’s against the law to camp out in these parks. Why are they allowed to ruin the parks with their filth? Mare they talking about the two leg rats or four leg rats?
This is some of the same community organizing that Odumba did as a community organizer in Chicago. Some of the two leg rate are being paid to protest about things they do not even know about.
The tea part people never lcost the city any money to clean up after their gatherings during daylight hours. They did not camp out and leave tons of trash for the cities to clean up.
Wake up people. The socialist/communist people in our goverent have established a foothold in their fight to destroy our way of life including our freedom and constitution.
How many of these two leg rats are receiving federal money. Cut their money off and move them out of our parks so law abiding citizens can enjoy the parks.

    • eddie47d

It’s against the law for Inside Traders to apply their unscrupulous schemes to enrich themselves too but oh so many get away with it. When they do get caught they get a slap on the wrist and lose little financial wealth. Why aren’t you concerned about those unlawful citizens who spiked the kool aid for unsuspecting Americans. When there is more honesty from the top of the financial food chain then maybe you wouldn’t have these “low life’s” protesting the ruin that the Elites brought down upon them.

      • lkar

        You mean like Nancy Pelosie?

    • Mike in MI

Hate to have to inform you Harve, my good man, but -
The more I look at this stuff..(?)..the more incredible it is.
It is becoming clearer every day that we live in a culture where all laws are selectively, prejudicially and unequally legislated and applied. If you have friends in powerful bureaucratic positions, legal (police, lawyer or judicial) positions, or legislative (local, state, federal or U.N.) you are aligned with the power class and most likely can do what you want.
We have devolved to a stiff and repressive class society peopled by those who are the clientele (a lowly degenerate crowd) of the political class (and their friends) who write and pass laws (not to strengthen the culture, but) to build-up their own aims and interests.
This is why, unless we overturn the present governing groups this election cycle, Constitutional government is probably pretty much finished, in my opinion.
The President governs by declaration and directives, without respect to Congressional advice, consent and prerogatives. Yet, the Congress either does not protest usurpation of its responsibilities or is in collusion therewith – too busy for the job they were sent to Washington to do.
They have spent us into the county farm, try to smother and suppress dissent both by propaganda and coercion, flood our land with chaos arrousing strangers and non-citizens, take money by taxation
and subtle theft that should be used for private philanthropy and civilizing endeavors and, finally, tearing away the mores, ethics and heritage which have been our greatest cohesive forces.
Whoever or whatever has undertaken to sunder this nation is devilishly expert at the job.
Few of you liberals who are joined to them at the chest will dodge the general conflagration when they bring it.

    • Karolyn

You’re worried about these parks, but I bet you are behind blowing up mountaintops for coal and the oil pipeline from Canada. How about more uranium mining in the Grand Canyon? Destroy beautiful America, but preserve the city parks.

  • http://www.catherinejfrompovich.com DumbStruck

I used to live in Northern Virginia across the river from Washington, DC, and every time I went into DC, I encountered rats similar to the way one sees squirrels running around. Rats are all over DC for many years and nothing seems to be done about it. I can remember one night in a rather uppity section of DC seeing a rat run up the outside front steps and then up the inside steps of a converted brownstone apartment house.
However, in my opinion, in DC all rats may not have four legs.
Sorry, I couldn’t help myself on that one.
So, I don’t think the Occupy folks may be to blame; they just may be victims of poor DC community services, in my opinion, and what I’ve seen for numerous years when I visited DC almost weekly.

    • lkar

Poor DC services? You mean the services run by unions and adminstrated by Democrats!

  • http://moniquer7 Merlin

I thought that the rats were already part of this group.

  • ARCHANGEL

Washington DC, what else would expect, the place is infested with nothing but RATS!

    • 45caliber

And some of them even have a tail!

  • Gringo Infidel

Ha! what a surprise. It would be a shame if those rodents bit the hippies.

    • eddie47d

Infidel! I guess if you think that is one way to get rid of the unemployed and others in financial distress.

      • smokey

no, the way to get rid of the unemployed, as you put it, would be to first get a president that can actually do something about the economy. second the unemployed need to get a job, any job. and there are jobs out there, just not ones were one can sit on their arse and make $20.00 an hour as most of these whiners want. lastly they need to clean up and get a little respect for themselves. if they do this then maybe adults will take them seriously.

    • 45caliber

      Gringo:

Not much chance of that unless the OWS were trying to pick up all the trash. Rats seldom bite each other.

  • Dr Anthony L James Sr

With democary, comes certain rights, and certain responsibilities, I can not understand why the people born and raised in the United States cant understand how business and goverment works. Wall Street truly whos fault is it is ours. It not CEO, CFO, Brokers, or anyone else who operates ther corporations, it is us the investors, the stock owners, the people that have the right to approve all this that a company or corporation does. But we too lazy to read motions of board and vote our proxies, and when it does get by that we stil buy their products. How dumb can one get when they hold all the power, and complain about the events that happen, gosh people get over it throw the prosters in the mental hospitals they need, and redress your grivances in the courts, and in the board rooms and at the cash registers where our laws make us kings not act like a bunch of 3rd world country uneducated heatherns.

  • jimmy2beans

I don’t know anything about this “Hegelian” BS and the author of the posts (hello Mark) but it is clearly an attempt to confuse the real facts.

We’ve got filth and health hazards at these OWS protests so let the authorities protect the general public by shutting them down. The plagues of the middle ages were caused by these exact same conditions: high density populations and a lack of sanitary living conditions which enabled rats to spread disease and kill millions across Europe.

It doesn’t take rocket science logic (hello again Mark) to figure out that the longer the protests last, the sooner diseases will start spreading thoughout the general population.

    • http://DoULoveJesus.Wordpress.com Mark Dabney

I have heard people from both the “Left” and “Right” refer to the “Hegelian Dialectic” but neither honestly explains what it means: thesis – antithesis merging into a synthesis. Problem – Reaction – solution – the “Problem” is contrived to provoke a “Reaction” which then leads to the “Solution” of the UNSTATED goal that was the goal from the go. This is either done by war mongering disinformation which results in war for fraudulent pretexts – or economic chaos where socialism is hailed as the “solution” – both of these expand the size scope and power of government which is ALWAYS COUNTERPRODUCTIVE

It is anything but “BS” that you accept one side or the other of the false choice between arsenic or cyanide only shows you have no idea how you have been deceived.

Again, I did not say that there was not a certain MEASURE of legitimacy to what is being blown out of proportion – only that you cannot rightly take what is being sold via TRIAL BY MEDIA at face value. TRIAL BY MEDIA is where things are grossly misrepresented, taken out of context, causal factors ignored or marginalized.

To those of the WAR MONGERING HEGELIAN RIGHT

      • http://DoULoveJesus.Wordpress.com Mark Dabney

OOOPS – know this war mongers of the Hegelian “Right” I have lawfully demanded of the Congresscriminal that feigns to represent me – on 6 April 2011 a document I drafted was received by Rep. Gingrey – to date – no response substantiating the TRIAL BY MEDIA claim that Bin Laden carried out 9/11 has been sent. GOT THAT? By default Rep. Gingrey has ADMITTED THERE IS NO PROOF AT ALL THAT BIN LADEN CARRIED OUT 9/11!!! THE TALIBAN – OUR FEIGNED ENEMY – WAS RIGHT!

So those of you in the self-righteous Likudnic ZioNazi “Right” that blindly buy into every lie the media sells you – you have ZERO legitimacy to criticize.

Again: Neither the Welfare State, nor the Warfare State but the LAWFUL STATE! [but first we must own up to how we have wound up with what the founders warned us against!]

The price of liberty is eternal vigilence – but too many bargain hunters want to cheapen it by blaming the other side while disowning their own culpability!

  • Spyder dalton

    Rats draw more rats….

  • Carol J

What did they expect when they dumped their garbage on the ground and used the places as (un)sanitary facilities?

  • AmericansRon2U

Hmmm…Obama attracts flies and Occupiers attract rats. Do you folks see a pattern here?

  • smokey

okay i’m confused. are we talking two legged vermin or four legged vermin? i mean at these love fests i would expect both to be present.

    • 45caliber

      Both are.

  • http://liberyalearts john p.

Occupiers are idiots they are blaming banks . for what the
country is going through.think about it Obama made the banks
to take the money .if they would not take the money Obama would
hurt there Businesses .Obama and his crew are the blame for
everything that is going wrong in our country.

    • eddie47d

OH Johnny Boy P. The mortgage scandal(meltdown) was in full swing with your bosom buddy Bush. The markets fell under your pal Bush. Employment tanked under Bush. Anything else you want to misrepresent? Now Obama did give the banks bailout money to save their arses but that has been repaid. I didn’t approve of bailing out the banksters (handcuffs would have been better), but did you send Obama a letter of thanks for saving your bankster cronies? Maybe you are what is wrong with this country and are the “idiot”.

  • Karolyn

Speaking of rats! I was reading comments here when all of a sudden a signup site for Rick Perry’s campaign appeared! I did not click on anything. They must be hijacking conservative sites!

  • Karolyn

Puhleez! Another pot-stirrer. Rats will gather anywhere there’s food and warmth. These were handy places for them. I’ve had rats in the past, but it never meant my house was unclean.

    • Mike in MI

Good, Karolyn, you keep kidding yourself like that.

  • http://DoULoveJesus.Wordpress.com Mark Dabney

Methinks that regarding the Plutocracy – and the political operatives that do their treasonous bidding – if we fed them all to the pigs – what would come out would be an improvement.

Pig $#!T would not lie to us – give itself inordinate pay – lead us into wars on fraudulent pretexts – pig$#!T for President!

    • Mike in MI

      We already got it.

  • Buck

Sewage , garbage , and trash ALWAYS draw vermin . Nuff said !

  • hitthedeck

I think the board of health made a mistake! Those were demorats.

  • Earl, QUEENS, NY

LOL!! Of course it sounds like the right place for 3 groups – the Demo-rat democrap politicians, the OWS morons ….. and the pesky rats!!

And while we’re at it, check out CNSnews (1/13/2012 – VA AG Fears DC Law May Relocate Rehabilitated Rat Families To Virginia). It involves D.C.’s new rat law–the Wildlife Protection Act of 2010, which seems to protect the rodents!! And it wasn’t that long ago when we heard of a Vietnamese farmer who was harassed and punished for accidentally running over a kangaroo rat with a tractor. Now we’re seeing even more lunacy by those with misguided compassion for such obnoxious animals. These are the consequences when politicians cater to animal rights and environmentalist wackos. We need to elect leaders in Congress, The White House, as well as on state and local levels, who will just say “NO” to animal rights and environmentalist wackos. Sadly, many republicans lack the courage to do so. On the other hand, we must remember that this kind of lunacy will never end with democraps in power!!
