Putin is correct in his assessment of Americas role. Maybe being reminded of what America is all about by an ex KGB agent is too much for many people. But truth needs to be acknowledged no mater the source. However, our president, Mr Obama, as well as secretary of state Mr Kerry have accomplished what many in the right seemed impossible – preventing a war and making a dictator give up his chemical weapons.

    High five to the Prez!

    • momo

Wrong again KG. Obama was saved by Putin throwing him a life line. Obama hasn’t done anything, except look weak, even Kerry has looked more assertive than our numb nuts president. Putin has taken the measure of Obama and found him lacking.

      • Hoosier Daddy

As computer geeks used to say, Obama was “pwn7″ by Putin.

    • StinkBomb Jones

HAHAHA!! Are you serious??? The war & killing continues & he hasn’t given up anything…..WAKE UP & SMELL THE VOMIT!!!

    • pete

You are either kidding, seriously ill-informed or just plain daft to believe what you just posted. Putin saved both their sorry asses and you know it.
The guy that you so worship in the Whitehouse is quite a dictator in his own right, just lacks the balls to carry out any of the numerous threats he has made in the past. Want me to name them? Go look again at all your mags with Obamas face on the cover and enjoy as only you can. Just do it quietly please.

      • KG

Ask Quadaffi how big are Obamas balls? Or how about Usama Bin Laden? Bush just gave up on his patsy, but our president, Mr Obama put a cap in his Azz. I think Mr Assad realized this and used the old networks of the Cold War era to contact the Russians so as to prevent Mr Obama from putting a Navy SEAL in his bedroom. This is the ‘smart’ power that Hillary talked about. If you are dealing with Obama, you better be ready to get smoked like a doobie!

        • Robert Messmer

Obama didn’t put a cap in anyone’s ass. He sent real men to do the job. Based on some reports they were under orders to kill regardless who they found. I couldn’t help but notice that Obama very conveniently dumped the body at sea. No independent verification of the id. And of course, let’s not forget to waste even more of the taxpayer’s money by giving him a proper Muslim funeral.
Be much better, instead of Hillary going all macho on us if she would tell the truth about Benghazi (or anything else for that matter.)

          • KG

If you don’t think that Mr Obama had anything to do with the mission Geronimo, then Reagan was just an empty suit. The burial at sea was necessary. If there was a place where followers could go, It would create a possible place where a cult of Bin Ladin could grow.

A proper burial of enemies is a trait of civilized people. To honor fallen soldiers, men who have given their life in the service of their fellow men, is an honor that any soldier deserves. Besides, this is not new. After the secret Project ‘Jennifer’ to recover a sunken Soviet Submarine, American Naval personnel gave a proper burial of Soviet sailors. Watch this and try not to feel the incredible amount of empathy that is generated in the most touching and beautiful ceremony of men honoring each other just because they are men – Humans.

          • Robert Messmer

I didn’t say Obama didn’t order just that contrary to your comment he didn’t do it. “To honor fallen soldiers,” but I don’t honor Bin Laden as a soldier. Soldiers fight the enemy army, not attack innocent civilians. The body could have been brought back so independent verification of id could have been done and then disposed of in such a way to prevent a gathering place.

  • Alan

It appears the only hackles getting raised are of those on the left. The core of his assessment is spot on however. It is not in our best interest to get involved in something that can easily grow beyond our control. Mr. Putin saved Mr. Obama and Mr. Kerry from the disgrace they so rightly deserved.

  • nobaloneyhere

Every day Menendez is still a senator makes me vomit.

    • momo

I thought Mendez was too busy chasing Dominican hookers to vomit.

      • Cashu

Just imagine how the perverted fool would have acted had he been to Thailand on the taxpayer’s nickel?? He REALLY could have had a “ball” with those ten-year-old pre-pubescents. Menendez is one sick puppy… a typical liberal democrap… but you notice the MSM never points out his faults and is in no hurry to demand HIS recall.

As a matter of fact, I don’t recall hearing word one about the slimy bastard from the MSM. Everything I learned was from independent news sources on the net…

        Cashu

Menendez should be in jail for his screwing around with young girls while on his fact finding trips. Obummer should be impeached for all his lies. They both make me vomit. It’s too bad that our politicians think they are better than their constituents. They make me vomit too!!.

are americans exceptional no we are ordinary people who have been able to rise exceptionally high despite being just like every one else. our freedom allows us to rise no matter what race or creed or religion we were born into, we are able to rise solely on our own abilities to a greater degree than people in any other nation.

    • Cashu

I think your remarks should largely be in the past tense. Since the rise of socialism, especially in 1913, when Wilson allowed those two major events to happen – the Fed and the Income Tax – we have been on a downward spiral that soon will mean the end to our once great republic unless we can somehow turn this disaster around.

We have gotten to the point where both major parties are so far to the left we can’t really claim exceptionalism these days, not after the republicans can promote and pass socialist welfare programs of their own: The Prescription Drug Bill !!! passed under and signed by Bush.

Unless we can get this train wreck reversed very quickly, you won’t be able to speak about the late, great U.S. of A. in any tense except past tense…

How about another rodeo clown with a putin mask and then we could see the two clowns entertain endlessly. Oh what fun. It is now more obvious than ever before that goobermints actual role is to entertain the masses. Hey, how bout the imf start a “world lottery”. Wouldn’t that make for great circuses? Of course, it would be for the “chillens”!

  • Hoosier Daddy

Putin is jealous of the U.S. as Russia has been a 2nd-world country for many decades. The U.S. IS exceptional, and he knows it.

That said, it is true that he ate Obama’s lunch….although the mainstream media is doing a good job of covering for their leg-tingling Messiah’s blunders and missteps.

    • Oldmonkey

What you described more accurately was Putin’s disgust with an incompetent O Vomit leading an exceptional country while he don’t. Putin’s problem is leading a country still not up to working. ( A mentality O Vomit is trying to hook us on like a drug, which also disgusts Putin trying to ruin what he wants) If Russians had the tenacity of my cousins in China, we’d be up sht creek. Russians still are among the best programmers in the world; more creative than most Chinese, but too lazy to work. They are first rate in science, and equal to Persians in poetry showing they aren’t one trick ponies. It took 20 years and lots of suffering to make one Germany when the half they were making equal had no work ethic. Russia after 70 years of Communism is still a basket case. Chinese are motivated workers and businessmen to their core; even Mao couldn’t kill their tenacity. They also suffered only 30 years before Deng a closet Fascist gave them stuff, vices, food in their bellies, and hope of an even better life for their kids. Putin isn’t to be admired or trusted, but unlike O Vomit is competent.

      • Cashu

An absolutely outstanding evaluation of the differences between the three systems and their leaders. Only thing I can add is that communism still has a firm grip on Russia and China, regardless what the people of those countries want or expect. They are both single-party political systems.

However, you have captured the dichotomy between Putin and the obomination perfectly. And Putin will eat our loser’s lunch…

        • Oldmonkey

Don’t listen to what they say, look at what they do; obviously you missed Lennon’s lesson on “Country Capitalism” Deng’s “capitalism with Chinese characteristics” is country capitalism after the revolution of the proletariat envisioned by Lennon. “We’re all fascists now!” Fascists may be tyrants, but they don’t starve their people. I’ve had chats in Chinese with the children of members of the Communist Party at the Aladin in Las Vegas. The half dozen all had inch thick wads of new $100 bills playing at the tables, smoking Marlboroughs, half drunk. Deng convinced their parents they could be rich, still in charge, and everyone with a full belly.

Putin besting O Vomit’s lunch might be our friend if we take advantage of O Vomit’s weakness

          • Cashu

Well, yes, I’ve seen the reports of rich Chinese buying up everything in sight in America. And I have no doubt that is true. However, in a country of over a billion and a half citizens, the percentage of Chinese who are able to practice that large lifestyle – I suspect, but can’t say for sure – is likely miniscule. And those that are over here buying up everything willy-nilly, are no doubt closely connected to the Chinese Red Army, the real power in that communist country. They won’t represent the average citizen/worker by any means. Likewise, if you look at the social structure of Mexico, you find about the same break-down of uber-wealthy and dirt (hopeless) poor. The thing they have in common is the fact that there is no hope at all of those in poverty in either country to rise to wealth without the help of the governing elite: The Red Army in China and the Ruling Party in Mexico.

I don’t want to be a pest here, but I think the dynamic of communist countries is such that only those with an inside track will rise to wealth. There is no such thing as a free middle class in either social construct.. And, believe me, I DO pay attention to what people do as opposed to what they say…

            Cashu

(however, I want to thank you for the little lesson in Country Capitalism within a communist overstructure. Intriguing, to say the least. Now I’ll have to spend some time and become familiar with what that phrase entails… ([smile] )

I could rent a room to a Mainland national attending a 1st tier community college tomorrow for $1000 / month. Sis makes a living selling them auto insurance, and there is a tier below her clients who ride bicycles. They developed a US place to park when their parents took in US exchange students. My father-in-law was tortured in Taiwan by Fascists, and his siblings murdered by Communists in China. An E-friend graduated from Wuhan University, and is an electronic engineer in China. She thought nothing about dropping $1000 US for a Cannon camera. Actually in RMB she likely paid more. Another friend in China isn’t doing as well, similar to Obama era college graduates in the US. There is a Han Chinese middle class in China of 400,000,000. Chinese is spoken daily in my home, and I have subscription Chinese TV. Every political party in Mexico is Socialist or Communist. If not for exporting their people to the US and money sent to Mexico, they’d have another revolution. Chinese and South Americans are keen on assimilation, not squatting.

          • Cashu

Well, you sound as if you’re closer to the situation than I. So I guess the prudent thing to do here is to defer to your greater familiarity with the dynamic.

Your family has endured a lot from both sides. And it would seem you’re in a unique position to compare them. Do you prefer the free Taiwanese side of the equation, or do you lean toward the larger communist regime? And what do you have to say about how Hong Kong has been able to resist being thoroughly assimilated into the Chinese culture? Also, are you a naturalized American citizen, do you still hold Chinese or Taiwanese citizenship and what does the future hold for you.

I’m always intrigued by people who can interpret foreign (to Americans) cultures and the intricate dynamics behind them. I must tell you I am totally opposed to Americans selling out to the Chinese by buying same. I don’t buy anything from any communist countries. If necessary, I do without before doing so. Puts a real burden on shopping these days, but I believe it is worth it to encourage local trade…

I prefer Taiwan & China play nice. Taiwanese fought their entire history to determine their own destiny. Though I don’t like fascists, besides not killing as many, a country can actually turn in to a 1st World Parliamentary Democracy like Taiwan. China now being for all intentions being fascist, appears pointed slowly in the same direction. I won’t live to see it, but a social democracy might happen. HK has British history of limited Democracy, and will likely steer the course. Correcting trade imbalance can easily be done, but devil is the details. Ending H-1 Everything comes 1st, training our own, and attaching Green Cards to the diplomas of foreign students worth keeping. Manufacturing will require give and take between company and workers. If employees understand with roll out of new a new cellphone, tablet, or computer, gruesome, erratic work hours, and shifts are required. This requires a company & union into pleasing the other.

I forgot to say, OM, that I have been following the injustice perpetrated on the Falun Gong movement for the last few years by the communists of mainland China. They have endured such terrible treatment. I am absolutely appalled at the egregious discrimination, forced displacement and abduction followed by torture that those peaceful folks have endured from the communists. I can think of no greater reason in the world to refuse to do any kind of trade with a totalitarian regime that would treat peaceful, non-violent citizens the way the Falun Gong have been treated…

        Agreed.

    • Michael Lloyd

Exceptional at what – bullying, hating our neighbors, shredding our Constitution, spending money we don’t have? We are on the same road to decadence that led to the fall of the Roman Empire.

      • Hoosier Daddy

That’s not “the U.S.”, it’s some of our socialist “leaders.”

  • Michael Lloyd

“Hey little girl, I’ll give you a cookie for a quickie or a BJ” Menendez has a lot of nerve to speak about making people want to vomit.

  • Jeff Noncent

well what do we expect! the Rat is a joke that’s why the president of Russia said what he said

  • James Bowen

I agree with Mr. Putin on this. It is arrogant beyond description and extremely dangerous to think of ourselves as exceptional. People are people, no matter where they are in the world, and any people who think of themselves as immune to history will ultimately be nothing but history.

  • jandeen

for folks who love to waste most of the world resources, we sure are exceptional, but China is on its way.
