Proof That The GOP Suffers From Stockholm Syndrome

Hello, I’m Wayne Allyn Root for Personal Liberty. Look around. One thing that is clear is Obama and his socialist cabal is destroying this country, step-by-step, minute by minute. He’s killing jobs, strangling the economy, snuffing out capitalism, destroying our children’s and grandchildren’s lives with massive debt, demonizing business owners, punishing success, and redistributing income from the makers (the job creators) to the takers (his voters). And while all this is going on, millions of Americans are losing their health insurance because of Obamacare. And now it turns out Obama knew this would happen as early as 2010. Yet he lied to us. He said no one would lose their present health insurance policy because of Obamacare. He knew that was a lie. Isn’t that a crime? Isn’t that fraud and misrepresentation to sell a billion dollar product? If any CEO in the private sector did that, he’d be in prison in a New York minute. It’s certainly time to impeach Obama for lying to us to sell a fraudulent product.

Oh one other thing. Forget how many people will go bankrupt or lose their homes because of Obama’s lie and the doubling or tripling of health insurance rates. Just ignore that for a minute. And think about this — our government had three years to prepare for the start of Obamacare. Yet the web site is a mess. It doesn’t work. Can you imagine asking this same government to oversee your cancer surgery? This isn’t just bad, it’s tragic. We’ve let Obama ruin the best healthcare system in the world.

But Obama is not the only one to blame. I blame the GOP establishment. Why are they standing by as Obama destroys America? Are they stupid? Are they lazy? Are they cowards? Are they so dense they have no idea what’s going on right in front of them? Are they in on it? Are they good actors just making believe they oppose Obama, but in reality they are on the same team? Or are they suffering from the Stockholm Syndrome?

The Stockholm Syndrome is a psychological phenomenon in which hostages exhibit irrational empathy, sympathy and positive feelings toward their captors, sometimes to the point of defending them, or apologizing to them. In other words, crime victims are in a state of denial about who the bad guy is, and eventually they take the side of the criminals who control their lives and threaten to kill them. Today’s GOP establishment appears to suffer from this mental disorder.

The real statistics of the Obama economy are mind-numbing:

  • The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that over 90 million working-age Americans are not working- the highest in history.
  • And because of President Barack Obama and his most loyal supporters in the teachers unions our education system is wrecked even worse than our economy.

Yet the GOP says little, does less, and apologizes at any attempt to resist. STOCKHOLM SYNDROME.

Obama and his socialist cabal call conservative patriots who believe in the exact same limited government as our Founding Fathers, “terrorists” “extortionists” “legislative arsonists” “unhinged” and “racists” (comparing them to the murdering KKK). They call anyone who questions the mysterious background of the most powerful man in the world, the man with his finger on nuclear buttons, by the divisive name “birthers.” The GOP establishment not only doesn’t defend their own base (their most loyal supporters), they go along with Obama to belittle the few courageous conservative heroes trying to save America from disaster.

THAT’S A CLASSIC CASE OF THE STOCKHOLM SYNDROME.

Obama is rapidly turning America into a Big Brother Nanny State with nasty government bureaucrats controlling every aspect of our lives. He uses the IRS to destroy his critics and bankrupt his political opposition. He uses the NSA to listen to all of our calls and communications — no doubt planning to blackmail opposition candidates. He uses Obamacare to demand sexual histories — no doubt with more blackmail in mind. He uses the EPA to destroy any chance of America achieving energy independence from radical Muslim nations. He creates thousands of new government regulations to bankrupt business owners, thereby starving donations to conservative candidates and causes. He uses the SEC to extort political donations from companies under the threat of criminal prosecution.

Yet the GOP says little, does less, and apologizes at any attempt to resist. STOCKHOLM SYNDROME.

Then there’s the corruption. Michelle Obama’s Princeton college classmate just happens to be a top executive at the firm chosen to build the Obamacare web site. They are both members of the Association of Black Princeton Alumni. That firm just happened to receive NO BID contract worth more than $600 million. Then they built the worst performing web site in history. So where did the $600 million dollars go? That’s not Michelle Obama’s money. It belongs to taxpayers.

Yet the GOP says little, does less, and apologizes at any attempt to resist. STOCKHOLM SYNDROME.

Nine commanding Generals have been fired and two suspended from the U.S. military in just the past year under Obama. Is he purging the ranks of the military of anyone who disagrees with his policies? For what reason? These are the men responsible for keeping our children safe at night. Something is wrong. Certainly questions need to be asked and investigations opened.

Yet the GOP says little, does less, and apologizes at any attempt to resist. STOCKHOLM SYNDROME.

Obama orders the IRS to destroy critics, conservative donors, and patriots, while allowing the same IRS to hand over $4.2 billion in tax credits to illegal aliens, who never paid taxes, and claim multiple deductions for kids who either don’t exist, or don’t even live in this country. Yet he doesn’t ask the IRS to investigate this fraud, committed by criminals. Only conservatives get hit with IRS investigations under President Obama. If this was a script in a fictional movie, Hollywood wouldn’t buy it. It’s that absurd.

The country is going under. All appears lost. And the GOP fumbles, retreats and apologizes. It’s tragic, but it’s now clear to see: One party is filled with frauds, crooks, socialists and out-and-out communists out to bankrupt the U.S. economy, wreck capitalism and destroy America. And the other party is filled with weak-willed cowards who are either scared of their own shadow, in cahoots with Obama, or suffer from the Stockholm Syndrome.

I’m Wayne Allyn Root for Personal Liberty. See you next week, same time, same place. God Bless America and save us from the Marxist lying fraud in the White House AND the cowardly Stockholm Syndrome-suffering GOP establishment. What a pair.

The only thing the GOP suffers from is cowardice!

    • denise0513

And the few that are brave enough to stand up and speak out are then totally vilified by the cowards.

  • alboy5

    U.S. flushed down the toilet.

  • Mark

No, you had it with: “Are they in on it? Are they good actors just making believe they oppose Obama, but in reality they are on the same team?” YES. Got nothing to do with “Stockholm Syndrome”…

  • David Stovall

The McCain, Dole, Graham types, the aisle crossers, think if they act like Democrats, the independents and Reagan Democrats will vote Republican. Wrong, wrong , wrong. Why vote for a counterfeit Democrat, they will vote for the real Democrat and the Republican base will stay home instead of voting.

    • Vis Fac

That’s why ODUMBO won and Romney lost people didn’t like Romney and didn’t vote so ODUMBO won by default.

The problem lies in the fact that the Republicans never were the Party of Small Government. They have simply given lip-service to that lie, and their voters have bought into it.

Great article, but what can we do besides talking about it?

  • peter

They are all in it together and have made fools of us all with their Oscar winning performances. They know how much we love a show, so that is what they are providing for us while the elites get on with plundering! Nero and Rome anyone? Circus anyone? Choosing between these miscreants is futile – you may as well go live in another land – the question is where? The corruption is rampant everywhere.

    • TheOriginalDaveH

Because s__t naturally rises to the top.
The people who seek positions of Power are typically those who have no scruples and thus can tell the people whatever they think the people want to hear. It is up to the people to judge them by their actions rather than their words, but how many of us are willing to make that kind of effort?

  • KG

It isn’t “Stockholm Syndrome” that’s seems to be paralyzing the GOP, but guilt from using all the same techniques that Wayne describes. Let’s not forget our history too soon. Nixon was the ‘model’ for Republican rule. By any means necessary, Nixon would keep republicans in office. The main player to carry forward Nixon’s torch was Karl Rove. Rove helped produce the lying, cheating, dishonest “Christian” Republican. Now the GOP, when faced with the same tools they helped to create, are powerless to resist or be seen as the hypocrites they are.

You guys had your crook for 8 years, I want my crook in there for 8 too!

Liberals-Socialists-Communists Always use pejorative labeling because they are incapable of lucid debate. They take this defensive posture to try and mask their inadequacies and to make themselves feel better of themselves.

They fail to realize when doing so they lose credibility trying to provide or substantiate their position.

So keep it up and while you’re at it you might want to consider relocating to a more suitable climate for your ideological doctrine or seek out as to why you are so disappointed with your life!

Nixon was NOT a Christian (…any more than Zeroe)
…Nixon WAS about to be impeached and resigned (…to popular acclaim)

      • KG

Nixon was actually a member of the Friends or more commonly known as the Quakers. They were like Pentecostals – ‘Super Christians”.

What’s most ironic about Nixon was the very helpful and good things he did for America – the EPA and OSHA, were established as well as getting America off the Gold Standard.

        • TheOriginalDaveH

Exactly the kind of things that have given the 1% more Power and Perks, and shrunk the economy for the rest of us. But what else could we expect to come out of the mouth of the Commie-advocate KGB?

        • dan

          Matthew 7:21-21
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

          • KG

To whom are these verses directed to? If you read very carefully, you will find that Jesus is talking about the ‘pseudo’ Christians – people who profess Christ and deny Him any power. You know, Conservatives, Republicans, Libertarians, Nazis etc.

          • dan

no, it refers to those who were ‘ministers’ ,priests and ‘evangelists’ and church-ladies whose self righteousness and works were as unworthy as Caines offering….but I draw a parallel between pseudo conservatives and even facists whose goal is control, much like the progressive/socialist/communist /eutopian tyrants. I believe you err in including Libertarians as they tend towards anarchy rather than centrlized control.

          • KG

Actually, Libertarians are the worse of the bunch. While they claim to be ‘Anarchist’, they really clamor for the power to tell you how to be an anarchist. A classic example was Pinochet’s Chile.

          • dan

it’s a slippery slope where one is tempted to ‘know ‘ what is best for another and acts on his behalf….The scariest words known to man are :” I’m from the government and I’m here to help you.”
i suppose the strong point of Libertarians is their adherance to the ability of individuals to form contracts freely without interference or recourse to force….as opposed to the more anachistic Libertines (Pirates?)or the bully corporatists.

          • KG

Do you remember Katrina? How many people would have loved to hear ” I’m from the government and I’m here to help you.”? After the 1994 Northridge earthquake, due to the constant shaking from aftershocks, people who’s homes weren’t destroyed were reluctant to reenter their homes. The California National Guard, allong with employes of the Housing Authority created tent cities in the San Fernando valley to provide shelter for thousands of people. These ‘concentration camps’ provided diapers and formula for mothers with children and provide food and water for thousands of grateful CITIZENS. As well as any human being that needed help.

“To form contracts freely…” wow, sounds good, until you read the fine print. Since libertarians tend towards the ‘letter of the law’ they love to get people into contracts with certain stipulations hidden in legal-eze. However, they are vehemently opposed to collective bargaining which is a form of ‘contract.’ But it’s a bad kind because the power is in the hands of the contracted instead of the contractor.

Pirates? Arg! Bully corporatists? What’s the difference? Actually the true description of a Libertarian IS PIRATE, The freedom to do whatever you conscience can bear, if you have a conscience.

          • dan

I remember the red-cross and loads of water being refused entry and gun confiscation by FEMA…a selective memory ?Just like not remembering that Pinocet came to power during a MILITARY Hunta and ran a dictatorship (more benevolent than his predecessors?)…how un-Libertarian or was he NO libertarian. You disparge the leagal-eze in contracts (stipulations and conditions) freely entered and negotiated yet spewl about conscience…not surprising for one who disregards morality as being
THE KEY to Libertarianism while the lack of morality is the hallmark of libertines (pirates…or those outside the established law)
Recall that the “do as thou willt” lie is at the genisis of Thelema and Satanism(Dashwood ,Rabelais and Crowley)

          • KG

You are right – it’s not about ‘freedom’, it’s about ‘morality’. But I have to ask – Who’s morality? I mean Adolph Hitler had morals? Pinochet had morals? Who’s morals are we going to adhere to?

Has not G-d given humans the freedom to do ‘what thou wilt?’

          • dan

well ,the choice between His righteous way (allows for creativity within the parameters He sets…ie the laws of the universe and the plan of Creation)
or to choose the flawed and or twisted reality
which pride and arrogance might influence.
With freedom comes responsibility (Noblesse Oblige)
and morals are as corruptable as the flesh..
To put it another way:the Creater makes the rules, not the creation.

      • KG

The GOP never had any to begin with. They have consistently blamed the weak and most vulnerable of our society for their ills. It’s not the CEO’s who make billions of dollars by selling corporations to foreign companies that are to blame, but the poor “overpaid” guy putting on fenders at the GM plant thats to blame. It not the tax credits that oil companies get for being a “new Industry”, but the single moms with kids who are trying to survive on Welfare – that’s who’s ‘Killing America.”

It’s the ‘conservatives’ who are the ‘thuggish cabal’ in America.

        • speedle24

Tell us Karl exactly how the GOP “blames” the weak and most vulnerable of our society for their ills. I don’t recall anyone placing “blame” on anyone other than politicians. Perhaps you mean the GOP trying to free the slaves from the democrat welfare plantation as “blaming”. I admit it is tough to get people to give up something they are getting for nothing (even if it is bad for them).

          • WTS/JAY

You’ll have to forgive Karl, speedle24, as he’s always had a rather severe case of flatulence.

Those workers at GM are being paid well above what they should be & have for years, but they are greedy too & do not want to give back, just like public sector unions will not give up even a little bit for the common good!!!….what about poor people who got houses & knew they could not pay mortgages? Aren’t they greedy too?
If GOP prez did the things OBOZO has done in almost 5 years, you & all the other LOONY TUNES LIBS would be screaming for his head on a platter!!!!

Being a Tea Party member, you must know that we are patriotic Americans. We peacefully assemble. We petition our government. We exercise our right to free speech and we don’t understand why our government tries to stop us. We aren’t here as serfs or vassals. We’re not begging our lords for mercy. We are born free American citizens and we’re telling our government that they’ve forgotten their place. It’s not their responsibility to look out for our well being and monitor our speech. It’s not their right to assert their agenda. The post that they occupy exists to preserve American liberty. They’ve sworn to perform that duty and have failed !!!

Warning was given, yet the people continue to embrace their leader, until it was to late 1937 Adolf Hitler. Wayne hit this one straight on, not only with the GOP but the American citizen who go about their daily life’s as if nothing is wrong with America today. The year was 2008 and a man name Barack Obama won his election to become President of the Unites states of America, and on the night of his election he goes out before his people in Chicago, and the people our crying and shouting out Obama, Obama, Obama. I looked at my wife and said to her we will remember this night for we just witness the Stockholm Syndrome. I watched as my own Senator stab me in the back and voted with the Democrats to fund Obamacare, this GOP leader name is Mitch McConnell one of the elites in Washington D.C. No back bone to stand with the people, yet makes a back room deal for 2.9 billion to fatten his wallet and calls it a good deal. I’m sicken to watch this Government of the people destroy all that is good about America today, is it to late America, only you can answer that question, and I say we still out number them 3 to 1 but time to act is not tomorrow but today. America freedom is not free, and yet we have this Stockholm Syndrome of millions who think Government is the answer and the solution to all our problems. Marxist Socialism has killed million in the 20th century and I know in my heart we the people will face this destruction by doing nothing to stop it, yes the Stockholm Syndrome is alive and well in America.

          Hi Red,
Even now, we are telling the younger generation about the good old days when freedoms were guaranteed by our constitution and capitalism was a good thing

          • red55bird

Your right Bill me and you will not live to see the day when, Capitalism and free market system and the freedom to work hard and become what ever you wanted out of life is the American dream again. But I will fight even at my age to the very end for my Constitution and if I have to take up arms and stand my ground then so be it.

You can tell your children all that until you are blue in the face however once they attend Liberal one dimensional idiot-ological indoctrination camps they will be reprogrammed in liberal tenet

I used to attend school board meetings and found the unions have tremendous influence in the curriculum I also learned these people don’t like confrontation or resistance to their authority. As I am NOT politically correct they don’t care much for what I have to say and become a bit cowardly when confronted with facts.

Fortunately we have a chance to turn things around by pressuring the school board to hire and institute a “proper curriculum after all it is OUR tax dollars who salaries.

One person by them self has no effect but garner a sizable group and you can move mountains all it takes is action and not waiting for others to take up the slack.

With Republicans scrambling for agreement on hot-button issues like gay marriage and immigration, Democrats could be feeling pretty confident in looking toward 2016. However, vice.com writer James Poulos warned that Democrats can laugh now, but 2016 “will break you.”

“Obama has left the Democrats no political heir,” Poulos said. “Republicans, by contrast, have an embarrassment of riches.”

Ted Cruz has made one major speech and his national poll numbers took an immediate hit! Rand Paul would have been strong in1816! 2016 is just to complicated for him!! Bring back John McPain! The “old fat white man candidate” is as dead in America as last years bird nest!

The dems actually telegraph who they’re most afraid of by who they attack the most. They’re scared to death by Cruz, Paul, Palin, and Lee. So are the RINO’s like McCain. That’s why they attack their own.

The dems are also panicky because Obama is not only dropping in job performance polls, but also popularity polls. They are scared the ObamaCare debacle will set back their liberalism and big government agenda.

Please note that most of Americas decline has been in the 30 years since Raygun. The only ONLY solution has been tax cuts. And look where it has us now.

Ronald Reagan was the absolute worst president next to ‘W’. When he fired the PATCO strikers, America has been in decline ever since.

      • MLR

got that right, the only tax cuts went to Big business and the super wealthy. The rest of us working people get to pay more. Before Reagan, for every dollar the individual paid in tax, business paid a $1.5 now they pay around a quarter

        • speedle24

What’s “super wealthy” MLR? In your world it is probably anyone making more than minimum wage. Otherwise you wouldn’t be so ignorant of the tax laws.

          • MLR

the super wealthy are the billionaires Reagan cut corporate tax rates by 50% from 70% to 35% They took that money and raised executive pay, stagnated hourly workers pay and started outsourcing to other countries, with even lower wage base, Like China

          • speedle24

Well the fact MLR is that you are full of s__t. The Reagan tax cuts went all the way down the tax tables, not just corporations. Now if you were one of those negative producers that pay no taxes but did not get a raise, I get your point.
The amount of money that executives are paid by corporations all combined don’t amount to a grain of sand on the beach compared with our entitlement expenditures. Consequently this matters only in the minds of collectivist ideologues.

payroll taxes were increased, I also buy and sell stock so I make enough to know what goes on. but I also work hourly, get paid well, I am not anti-Business, just think that the income gap is way to big. Remember when only one person in the family had to work to make ends meet, without using credit.

          • speedle24

Yes, I remember when we used to have one bread winner in the family. In fact that was my family growing up. The thing is that things have changed, and it sure as hell is not the fault of conservatives. The democrats are and have always been the party spending now and worrying about paying for it later, ridiculing family values, promoting single parent families, and encouraging people to stay on welfare. There are guilty Republicans as well, but not the conservative ones like Reagan.
When Reagan spent money it was on defense and that investment ultimately paid huge dividends in the downfall of the Soviet Union. That is not even debatable. On the other hand what has the spending of LBJ (and every democrat since) on the “Great Society” yielded us in the way of return on investment? How about huge increases in single mothers on welfare, increased black crime, illegal drug use, declining academic achievement, etc. I am very frustrated that people continue to argue about economic policies that are clearly inarguable.

          • TheOriginalDaveH

Yep. I reached adulthood in 1971, and by 1976 was easily able to support my family even though traveling 60 miles each way every day to do so. My wife worked, but only because she chose to do that, and we were able to nearly pay off our home mortgage in just 3 years as a result of her extra income.
There is little doubt in my mind that the big flap over Women’s Liberation was a smoke-screen to cover the fact that Government and the Federal Reserve were robbing us all blind to the point where it was getting less and less possible to have a 1-worker family.

          • MLR

Just to say it is possible, maybe we got all those single moms, black crime, drug use, low test scores, etc. Is because of the lack of well paying jobs. The downfall of the Soviet Union, was a cumulative effort by every president from after WWII. It just happened when Reagan was President. He did help it along, maybe even speed it up. I am not saying Dems are not guilty, in fact they are, along with Republicans. The Republicans are pretty adept at spending what they don’t have too. The F;;;ing war in Iraq pretty well proved that.

          • speedle24

Okay, the lack of jobs contributes no doubt. But I submit that it all goes hand in glove with the entitlement society. When someone can sit on their ass and draw almost as much income as they would have if they had an entry level job, guess what happens. Instead of becoming a productive member of society (and actually paying some taxes) they become an unproductive burden to society. And that can be attributed to the policies of the “progressive” democratic party. The dems do NOT support private sector investment (read: job creation), and the whole thing becomes a perpetual poverty machine.

          • JeffH

MLR, you can thank the Marxists and Big Government progressive presidents for destroying the American Dream.

The only real complaint one has in relation to the “super wealthy” is whether they earned that money due to special-privilege bestowed by Big Government (Crony Capitalists), or by pleasing their consumers (Market Capitalists). If it was the former, they are indeed wrong, but the latter earned their money through voluntary transactions and it is none of your business, MLR, how much of that they have.

To sit back hoping that someday, some way, someone will make things right is to go on feeding the wolf, hoping he will eat you last – but eat you he will.

Rather than succumbing to class envy, why not question the real culprit — Government Spending?

Karl Karl the union foil. Everything Karl believes is rooted in the union cause. Karl is apparently not smart enough to follow the dots to the conclusion that if businesses aren’t encouraged (through tax policy), they don’t create the jobs that unions love to co-opt and organize. And guess what, unions won’t exist. It’s not too hard a trail to follow Karl. Try it sometime.

Since you have ALWAYS been a TAKER it is not surprising you take this position. As you have always been a taker and not a contributor you have no idea what you are talking about. Since work to you is a four letter word you have always been a taker.

union or no union had you been in my employ your attitude would have gotten you bounced the next day. In reality I wouldn’t have hired a slug like you in the first place You application would have provided enough information to disqualify you from the start.

        • KG

Yes. The GOP’s war against organized labor has done nothing but lower the wages and living standard of Millions of Americans. Here is a chart that proves why Unions are a necessary ‘evil’ in our capitalistic system:

However, I know that the ‘special people’ like you, Bob, are immune to such things.

Your chart says next to nothing. But here is a story that should make public employee union members cringe.

            http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/10/30/detroit-bankruptcy-proposal-would-leave-pensioners-with-16-cents-on-dollar/

          • TheOriginalDaveH

That is pure nonsense, KGB. The worsening middle class incomes are more a symptom of ever-growing Government than anything else.
When Unionists coerce higher wages, it comes at everybody else’s expense. Product prices go up. Non-Union workers get laid off. Even Union workers with lower seniority can find themselves out of work as a result of their brethren getting higher-than-market wages. The only way Unionists could benefit the economy would be if they produced more for their higher wages, and we all know that doesn’t happen.
            There is no Free Lunch.

          • KG

quote:The only way Unionists could benefit the economy would be if they produced more for their higher wages, and we all know that doesn’t happen.

Sorta like what CEO’s do. So why do they still get payed millions???

          • TheOriginalDaveH

Because the Owners of the company think they’re worth it, Cagey. Imagine that concept — They spend their own money the way they please.

          • KG

However, we all know that the money that company made is not made in a vacuum. It took the work of the workers to turn the Capitalists money into a product that he could sell. So the actual producers of his wealth are the people who produced it. And as such, they are the actual owners. They have sold the only resource they have – their life force – in exchange for wages. But the raw materials had no worth until Labor was infused into it.

          • TheOriginalDaveH

KGB says — “However, we all know that the money that company made is not made in a vacuum”.
Like that between your ears, KGB?

KGB says — “So the actual producers of his wealth are the people who produced it”.
You mean like the North Koreans, KGB?

KGB says — “So the actual producers of his wealth are the people who produced it”.
Then you should have no trouble, KGB, starting your own company. Let us know when you do, so we can observe your success.

KGB says — “They have sold the only resource they have – their life force – in exchange for wages”.
Apparently when people like KGB sell you something their asking price was not enough and you are on the hook for whatever they later demand from you. The moral of that story? Don’t buy stuff from Union people like KGB.

          • KG

I’m not aware of any Union contract that had any retroactive provisions. Usually most contract negotiations are over future earnings and benefits.

North Koreans? I imagine they can produce as much as any other kind of worker. However, when you have a fascist leader and a fascist government, until you have enough people willing to overthrow such a government their fate is a sad one. Not unlike the workers here in America who cannot afford decent housing. Or buy a new Ford Pickup. Or barely have enough to feed your family.

I have a conscience. I have too much empathy for my fellow human to be a successful businessperson. My father tried several times to start a construction contracting company. I worked with him and saw the dirty, underhanded, evil things that business people do to make a profit.

I like to sleep at night. So, no, business is not for me. But if you want my expertise learned from almost 20 years of doing Electrical installations I’m more than willing to work for top wages. That’s why I work Union.

            Solidarity Forever

          • TheOriginalDaveH

What does “retroactive” have to do with anything, Cagey? You agreed with the company for a certain wage, and you were implying that the work you performed for that agreed-wage somehow gave you “ownership” in the company.
The Koreans have the kind of Government, Cagey, that you and your Commie buddies would like to install here. If you can’t feed your family, Cagey, it is nobody’s fault but your own or that of the meddlesome Government that you advocate.
If you had a conscience, Cagey, you wouldn’t form Union Gangs to extort your employer who you should be grateful towards for giving you an opportunity to earn a wage.

Cagey says — “I worked with him and saw the dirty, underhanded, evil things that business people do to make a profit”.
Obviously, Cagey, you ignored the “dirty, underhanded, evil things” that Unionists do:

          • KG
          • TheOriginalDaveH

Increasing the minimum wage? How ignorant. Companies don’t hire people who don’t produce more than they cost the company in wages and benefits. Raising the minimum wage just costs lower-skilled workers jobs. Then they end up on public assistance draining the pocketbooks of the real producers (hint — they aren’t Unionists).

Passing Buy America Laws? More ignorance. The division of labor results in the cheaper production of goods and services by workers around the world. When Government tampers with that, the average citizen must pay more for their goods and services, thus lowering their living standards. Protectionism is only good for the special interests who seek advantage over the rest of us.

Insuring Paid Sick Days? Even more ignorance. There should be no sick days. The more there are, the more flaky people abuse them. But what else can we expect from Unionists. If the worker paid for his/her own sick days, you can bet they would be “sick” much less often.

Giving Workers the Right to a Voice on the Job? Oh please, that’s what we need these guys for:
            http://nrtwc.org/
Otherwise people like KGB would ram their Unions down your throat before you had a chance to express your voice.

Protecting Your Privacy on Social Media? Is that a joke, Cagey? From the same people who voted for Obama and his spying NSA?

          • KG

I guess Libertarians hate America. All of these ideas you reject are the ideas that most Americans want.

I guess you never had to work a ‘real’ job yourself or you would see the need for these things.

          • TheOriginalDaveH

            Argumentum ad populum.
I could outwork you any day of the week, Cagey. That’s why you need a Union, and I didn’t.

          • KG

Argumentum ad populum. That’s just a canard for your clear contempt of whats best for working people. While issues such as worker safety and health as well as hours worked or fairness in lay-off procedures mean nothing to people like you, the REAL people involved with those jobs – the trained professionals who do it every day – ought to have a say in what is important in their livelihood.

Yes, you probably could out-worked me, but will you be able to work like that until your 65? Or 70? Or 75?

A fellow worker had to slow me down on the job. I was running around like a chicken with its head cut off. What he told me was “…were not doing the 100 yard dash, this is a marathon.” That made sense to me. What’s better – a crew that does 120% on monday, but only does 20% on Friday? In the Union, we give 100% every day.

          • TheOriginalDaveH

No, Cagey, argumentum ad populum is your fallacious attempt to disparage my comment by saying “All of these ideas you reject are the ideas that most Americans want”.
Argumentum ad populum is a fallacious argument that concludes a proposition to be true because many or most people believe it.

Cagey says — “the REAL people involved with those jobs – the trained professionals who do it every day – ought to have a say in what is important in their livelihood”.
They do have that right, Cagey. And if they don’t like the response of the owner of the business, they are free to find work elsewhere.

You last paragraph, Cagey, is a non sequitur. The efficiency with which a person does their work is irrelevant to the discussion.

          • KG

You have misunderstood the fallacy in your argumentum ad populum argument. If a portion of the country were polled as to the working conditions of Electrical workers, that could be used as a popular “belief” in what’s right for Electrical workers. But if you were to ask that same question of electrical workers exclusively (or trade workers generally), then it’s not a populum arguement, but an arguement from the workers themselves. At that point, it’s more than an argument from belief but an argument from FACT.

“…free to find work elsewhere.” Aren’t we all? Do I have to sell my home and move to another part of the country every time I wish to improve my situation? Why can’t I petition for grievances where I work now? Do you really want an Itinerant workforce? Or do you enjoy seeing families forced to roam the country in search of work like the Joads of Grapes of Wrath?

          • TheOriginalDaveH

There is nothing logical about your statements, KGB. That’s why your kind must rely on Forcing others to do things your way. I have never known a company to Force their way on me, but I have known plenty of Unionists who have tried.

Cagey says — “Do I have to sell my home and move to another part of the country every time I wish to improve my situation?”.
No, Cagey, as I have said before, you can start your own company and show us how it’s done. Instead you reply to that by disparaging other Company Owners, which is a non-sequitur as their behavior (even if true) does not have to be your behavior. But the fact remains that I have never known a Company Owner to Force me to do anything, while I have known plenty of Unionists who have tried.

Perhaps, Cagey, you could describe to the readers how Companies have Forced you to do anything?

          • KG

eg. “Hey KG, come over here and fix this light fixture using this ladder.”
“But the ladder is missing three rungs.”
“Well, if you won’t do it we will find someone who will.”

This situation actually happened to me. Fortunately, I was a member of the Union so I told the shop steward and he filed a grievance. The next day we had a brand new SAFE ladder to use. I could have quit the job and lost a week of pay, but instead I followed proper protocol and was able to finish the job without getting hurt. My family was grateful that I could buy groceries that week. I could have neglected them but I wanted to provide for their needs.

Forced? May be not, but knowing that you have hungry mouths to feed means your decisions are going to be quite different than someone who has no responsibilities.

Are you responsible for anyone else other than yourself? I could see that if you are not then you can afford to be a selfish prick.

          • TheOriginalDaveH

Who is the selfish Prick, Cagey? You who advocates forcing your way on other people, or me who advocates Free Choice and Voluntary trade?
I was in a Union when I was young and ignorant. The guys were telling a “horror” story about a worker who had been ordered to climb on some unsafe scaffolding. It meant nothing to me because I have always reserved the right to place my own safety above my job. I would just simply refuse if I thought my life was in danger. The funny thing is that those same people were horsing around on the night shift doing things that were very hazardous and trying to involve me in their dangerous games.

          • KG

quote:…me who advocates Free Choice and Voluntary trade?

Yea – only for those who can afford it. It would seem kinda rash to judge an entire segment of America strictly on your own personal anecdotal experiences. Since you were young, you may not have realized what was really going on anyway. That ‘horror’ story only seems innocent until you see someone who has fell off a bad scaffold. Theres nothing like brains oozing out of someones face to make you realize how important safety is – and how much contractors put safety first – behind everything else.

I feel sorry for you. I think the majority of young people who eventually would become Union members probably had similar experiences. However, we need to look at what’s important. Only through Solidarity and Brotherhood can we demand the working conditions and salary commensurate to the skill set we have dedicated our lives too. That’s what makes a Union powerful. And that’s what gets you respect.

          • TheOriginalDaveH

Coming from a guy who just related his own anecdotal story as if it mattered.
If you can’t care for yourself, Cagey, why in the world do you think anybody else will? Pass that doobie this way.
If you want the working conditions of your choice, Cagey, find another job that suits you. Or start your own company. What’s keeping you from doing that? I mean, according to you the workers are the backbone of the company, so it should be a snap for you.
            “demand the working conditions”?
You mean more like Force, don’t you Cagey?

          • KG

Why did Willy Sutton rob banks?

Because that’s where the money is!

If there is an enterprise in my neighborhood and they are successful and their success is coming from profits gained by not funding a proper safety program or by underpaying Employees then I as well as anyone else that would care to join me can petition for our redress of grievances. That’s why the Union hall is a Local Union. It’s supposed to be the workers of a community looking out for the best interests of the community.

Here is some ‘union goons’ doing what they do best:

          • TheOriginalDaveH

Funny that you should use bank robbers as your defense, KGB. Freudian Slip?
A “proper safety program” is entirely subjective, KGB, and the perception of such differs from one person to the next. Hence we have skydivers, hang gliders, mountain climbers, etc.
No committee can decide those issues. Each person has to decide for themselves what risks are acceptable. And if they decide those risks aren’t acceptable, they have the right to refuse employment. In fact they can refuse employment for any reason whatever. That is their choice. And it should be the choice of the people who own the businesses to make an equal choice to not employ that person.
It isn’t the right of Unionists to commit coercion or violence on their employers in order to extract higher than market wages.
It isn’t the right of Unionists to commit coercion or violence on those people who would jump at the chance to do the job that the Unionists turn their nose up at.
One would think that the Unionists would be grateful that they were given a job in the first place by the employers who they later coerce. One would think wrong.

          • KG

Is it right to let someone work at a job that could kill them, even if they wanted too? Is it right to employ someone at below market wages if they want to? According to you, these are ‘unalienable rights’ of employers. And that’s where the individual liberty of a business person ends and the responsibility of Humanity begins. It would seem in your demented view of ‘freedom’ that if you could hire 12 year old children to clean-out hamburger grinders because their hands are small, that would be OK. Fortunately, in this country, we think more of children than the dexterity of their members.

Labor is prior to, and independent of, capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration.
            – Abraham Lincoln

          • TheOriginalDaveH

Is it right to let somebody hang-glide? Is it right to let somebody race cars?
What it is, is none of your business, KGB.
And I doubt really that an avowed Communist cares about people’s lives other than his own anyway:
            http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holodomor

As to whether Capital or Labor is more desirable — That depends on the wishes of the person who is deciding whether it be best to spend his own money on labor or capital. I know you Unionists love Forcing your way on others, KGB, but that person’s choice is none of your business. You make it your business simply because you want to feather your own nest at somebody else’s expense. Don’t pretend to have altruistic intentions.

          • WTS/JAY

The sad fact is that many unions are infiltrated by organized crime. Not all unions or union officials are corrupt. In fact, the vast majority of union officials, especially at the local level, are probably decent law abiding people.

But unionism is about power and “power corrupts” so there are plenty of examples of union corruption. Keeping your fellow workers aware of them is a good way to influence them against getting involved with a union.

The “National Legal and Policy Center” does an excellent job of monitoring and reporting on union corruption. They publish a twice-monthly “Union Corruption Update” that is absolutely loaded with examples of union corruption in almost every union. The archive of the “Union Corruption Update” is available online and you can search it by union or state.

Would you consider becoming a supporter, KG? If so, you can start here… http://nlpc.org/

          • KG

Is there a newsletter that points out the corruption in corporations? When you say that union officials are corrupt you must remember that they do not operate in a vacuum. So are you saying Enron was a well run company?

Power corrupts. And Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Considering the 30 year strangelehold that conservative politics have had over America, I feel and know that the corruption lies in the conservatives.

    • Vis Fac

Here is a 100% you’ll get from me. If it hadn’t been for Reagan I and a lot of other business owners would not have had a chance. The problem we have in America is everyone wants what others have but refuses to earn for themselves.

As we then have a mob of people who don’t want to work so they complain softly at first then more people join in the complaining and the complaining gets louder then MORE people join in and all of a sudden we have an arrogant SOB that says “why don’t we take what we want there are more of us than there are of them they don’t stand a chance if we unite. This is how and why the DUMBOCRITIC party was formed.

None of the above. They are simply posturing to the people (as they always have) when in fact, since the birth of their party, they have been the Party of Mercantilism. The Democrats were actually the Party of Freedom until the late 19th century when they also learned the benefits of Crony Capitalism.

By the way O is a liar and has been lying to the American People and to the world. That is the character of the man. O and his handlers and his followers do not see lying as anything wrong. They are not using the same standard, the Bible, to measure what is a lie and how complicated and convoluted lies are.

the GOP needs to know that Americans are with them, and with so many living off of the government and not enough pride to provide for themselves–that is indeed a hard task. Give us what we want and out dope, and we will vote for you–this is our democrats, who by the way started to KKK for real

    • Vis Fac

There is no GOP The GOP has morphed into an unrecognizable blob that has no back bone. Just like a first time dope user or smoker they have succumbed to peer pressure to appear to look “cool” In the end as with dope and tobacco the end result is a slow agonizing death. The GOP is in terminal death throes.

Time for a new common sense party to emerge and take charge!!!

Because the Propaganda Media has been very successful at turning most people into brain-dead automatons like yourself, NutCase. Remember the majority of people score lower on tests than do the minority. Only in the minds of ignoramuses like yourself does majority equate to correctness.

Perhaps ODH is correct, but I think I prefer the Constitution Party.

  • Charlotte Juett

It is hard to fathom, but perhaps Root is correct in calling it Stockholm Syndrome. The GOP has been beaten down by the Dems, so badly, since the 2006 elections, that they no longer dare to stand up to them and only the newest members have any spine left. It is rather like an experiment run on monkeys at a zoo. The zookeepers put a ripe bunch of bananas up on a high ladder. Whenever a monkey tried to climb the ladder, the zookeepers would turn the fire hoses on all the monkeys. Soon, if a monkey attempted to climb the ladder the other monkeys would attack him and stop from reaching the bananas. Then they started to replace the monkeys with new monkeys on at time. Every time a new monkey would try to climb the ladder the rest would attack and stop him. Soon, all the original monkeys that had had the fire hose turned on them were gone, but still none of the monkeys would try to reach the bananas, even though they had no reason to fear other than being attacked by the other monkeys.

    • Vis Fac

Rather an astute analysis Charlotte. As I have always suspected the US is run by by monkeys and the old adage of monkey see monkey do is certainly apropos in describing our government.
As it just so happens I abhor monkeys if one is at the zoo and gets too close to them they snatch whatever you have in your hands (any similarity in reference to the present administration is purely intentional) If you happen to get too close intrude in their space or they don’t like what you say or how you look for they will throw feces at you (any similarity in reference to the present administration is purely intentional)

Monkeys don’t care what others think and do what they want when they want no matter how vulgar or offensive it happens to be to others. JUST LIKE OUR LEADERSHIP in DC.

To sit back hoping that someday, some way, someone will make things right is to go on feeding the wolf, hoping he will eat you last – but eat you he will.

Thank you for your complement. I fear that a lot of people are not going to get the analogy to the monkeys. All you have to do is look at how McCain, Graham and the other old monkeys are treating Cruz, Lee and Paul and you can see what I am getting at.

        • TheOriginalDaveH

You, Wayne, and Force, are being too kind, Charlotte. There is little doubt in my mind that the majority of Republican Leaders are just posturing opposition, when in fact they cater to many of the same Crony Capitalists that the Democrat Leaders cater to.
It is the natural inclination of Leaders to feather their own nests and work hand in hand with Crony Capitalists.
The only chance we have to reverse that is for the majority of the people to get educated to that reality and push hard to shrink all Government (but especially the Federal Government).

CHARLOTTE, MAN HAS EVOLVED TO THE POINT OF HAVING AN ABILITY TO REASON NOT POSSESSED BY MONKEYS. IT’S A GOOD STUDY FOR MONKEYS BUT DOES NOT QUITE CUT IT FOR HUMANS! I remember seeing hoses turned on the black people in Alabama and Mississippi towns. Now they control a lot of those towns!

Mr. nc (neo-con perhaps) Man may have evolved, but the politicians have not. When they get elected, they begin to devolve and thus the monkey analogy works just fine.

Utterly disgusting how O’man’s administration can spin the facts yet not surprising considering they’re all disciples of the Chicago Alinsky methods. It’s really pitiful that so many ignorant folks are remiss in searching for the facts…ultimately the truth.

“The most brilliant propagandist technique will yield no success unless one fundamental principle is borne in mind constantly – it must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over”
      – Joseph Goebbels

Classic Alinsky – Rules for Radicals ie The Chicago way.

Rule 5. “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counteract ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage.”

Rule 8. “Keep the pressure on, with different tactics and actions, and utilize all events of the period for your purpose.”

Rule 11. “If you push a negative hard and deep enough, it
will break through into its counterside… every positive has its negative.”

Prologue: “The Revolutionary force today has two targets, moral
as well as material. Its young protagonists are one moment reminiscent of the idealistic early Christians, yet they also urge violence and cry, ‘Burn the system down!’ They have no illusions about the system, but plenty of illusions about the way to change our world. It is to this point that I have written this book.”

The Purpose: “Radicals must be resilient, adaptable to shifting political circumstances, and sensitive enough to the process of action and reaction to avoid being trapped by their own tactics and forced to travel a road not of their choosing.”

“A Marxist begins with his prime truth that all evils are caused by the exploitation of the proletariat by the capitalists. From this he logically proceeds to the revolution to end capitalism, then into the third stage of reorganization into a new social order of the dictatorship of the proletariat, and finally the last stage — the political paradise of communism.”

“An organizer working in and for an open society is in an ideological dilemma to begin with, he does not have a fixed truth — truth to him is relative and changing; everything to him is relative and changing…. To the extent that he is free from the shackles of dogma, he can respond to the realities of the widely different situations….”

  • Stuart Shepherd

Mr. Root’s analysis seems extremely insightful to me. This “Stockholm Syndrome” would also be directly proportional to the phenomenon of “gradualism,” which has been occuring in the US for at least 50 years, in which enormous socio-political changes are wrought not through revolution or instantaneously, but by persistent and step by step propaganda, legal changes, etc. that, in the end, have the same effect. What the RINO’s are “captive” to is “PCism,” which can only be combatted with heavy doses of blunt truth, but which has, through gradualism, become the prevailing societal mindset in the US- to our destruction. “O, what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to
deceive.” – Sir Walter Scott. “I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life.” “You will know the Truth and the Truth will set you free.”- the Lord God Jesus Christ. Man, not even the constitution or so-called “natural law” can make you free- only the Lord God Jesus Christ!

52% (and rising) of the so called American people believe in this gov’t! Of those 52%, ALL, are low life scum that believe we should be a socialistic, welfare state like the rest of the world and in their medicated euphoria they believe that our gov’t has our best interest in hand! They are willing to accept crumbs from the table and believe that the rich and elite are paying for it!! They are so stupid they have no idea what freedom is about and yet they believe this gov’t is going to “Set Them Free”!!!!!! I cannot wait for the day they realize they have been lied to as well as us!! It will be fun to hear what they have to say and they will beg us to have sympathy for them because…. ” Father, they know not what they have done”!! Before Christ returns we may have to battle this out in our own streets!!! Please libterds, don’t come knocking at my door and ask for protection…i will just give you a gov’t issued condom and tell you to go F……….yourself!!!! Then when Christ comes back he will rid this world of all the evil that exists and you will be at the bbq pit begging Obama for free air conditioning!!!

    • NC

RON, I think that once Jesus comes and studies the bush fiscal policies with the RICH MAN tax cuts and the Republican Party platform stance against the poorer working class PEOPLE having a voice through the right to organize, he will see which major party has fought hardest for the same less fortunate people he sought help FOR in ALL OF HIS SERMONS!
I REALLY THINK HE WILL BE MORE IMPRESSED WITH HELPING THE POOR THAN MASTURBATING THE RICH!

      • Ron

this is an example of how stupid you liberals really are….you think we conservatives have no compassion and you are so dead wrong you reek of the stench you vote for!! No one, not one of us, does NOT care about the poor, the helpless, the unhealthy, those that cannot fend for themselves LEGITIMATELY!!!!! You throw yourselves in one if not ALL of those categories and you think we should feel sorry for you or we don’t care!!! You think we are for the rich…. and yet everyone you vote for is just as rich and pay nothing for your welfare or benefit!!! In fact most of those you vote for do not even tithe accordingly!!! We are disgusted with your kind that are capable of working..do not have disabilities, and just think that those who WORKED and made some money should PAY FOR YOU!!! It will be GOD who will judge those who have lied, cheated and stole to get where they are at, and, he will judge you for being a lazy fool and trying to suck off society!!!! This is OUR disgust, and the same people you are so proud of because you think there are helping the poor, are the same thieves i describe above!!! PURE EVIL and Nothing more!!!

        • NC

Ron, how many people out there had a job before the ill fated attempt by bush and the Republican Heritage Foundation to make TRICKLE DOWN from the rich give us a STONGER ECONOMY??? They don’t have jobs now! In fact, a number of the companies that laid them off no longer exist and the others have greatly cut back their hiring!! Sorta hard for the President following bush to put those people back to work!! RIGHT????
BUT THEY AND THEIR CHILDREN STILL HAVE TO EAT! HOW DO WE HELP THOSE CITIZENS?? LET’S CUT THEIR UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS ! THAT WILL TEACH THOSE LITTLE BASTARDS NOT TO GET HUNGRY!
YOU CONSERVATIVES ARE LIVING IN PARADISE WITH A LOAF OF BREAD UNDER EACH ARM AND PI$$ING AND MOANING ABOUT NEEDY PEOPLE DARING TO SEEK RELIEF!

You missed the boat buddy, Both parties are out to FUBAR this nation. Both parties pretend to hate each other, so we watch their drama while they rip us off blind, blaming each other. Truth is they are both owned by the same UBER rich people. If you think Obozo is on your side, Or the shrub, you are sadly mistaken. Both parties are in the same club, and we are not in it nor invited to join.
In short, the entire government is our enemy!

Economies are based on productivity, NutCase. I realize that word is foreign to a Union stooge, but without it we don’t have the goods and services to help those “children” have decent lives.
When you blindly vote for Politicians, who are regulating and taxing their Crony Capitalists’ competitors out of existence, how can you really claim to care about the “children”? When those same Politicians are mortgaging those children’s futures, how can you really claim to care about those “children”? You’re a hypocrite, NutCase, writ large.

you really are that dumb??? You still blame Bush, yet your buddy has done nothing in 5 years to help you get a job, and you still blame Bush!!!! Your buddy gives you welfare and you are so thankful that you keep voting him in…you are dumb!!!! Tax cuts help put you to work and help the economy but why would you want that because someone else is getting rich and you can’t get your freebees if you have to work!!! Go out and start a business DA and don’t profit from it and see how long you last…you will be on Obama’s welfare line again!!! We argue the point that no matter who’s fault all this is…your savior who promised you everything has lied to you and put you on welfare to keep you there!!!! And his continued bad policies are trying to put us there as well..and God help me… I DON”T WANT TO BE LIKE YOU!!!!!!

      • WTS/JAY

Wrong as usual, NC. The country is under the control of an international consortium of dynastic families that own and control the country via the “Federal Reserve” system, a central bank, operating in the United States. It is the dominant financial power of the country. It is entirely private-owned, although it seeks to give the appearance of a governmental institution. It has the right to print and issue money, the traditional prerogative of “monarchs”. It is set up to provide financing for wars. It functions as a money monopoly having total power over all the money and credit of the people.

It is, therefore, entirely pointless to assign blame for what ails our country to either party, since both, parties, are nothing more than employees who represent, and protect the interests of these “dynastic-families” that own this country, lock stock and barrel, dumb dumb…! :)

37% Say Zombies Would Do Better Job Than Federal Gov’t, 37% Opt for Feds

    Thursday, October 31, 2013

It’s not exactly a vote of confidence in the powers that be: A sizable number of Americans think the undead would do a better job than the brain dead in Washington, D.C.

Thirty-seven percent (37%) of American Adults believe the federal government would do a better job than zombies running the country today. But the latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that most Americans don’t share that view, with just as many (37%) who feel zombies would do a better job running the country and another 26% who can’t decide between the two. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

These findings are no surprise, given that 64% of Likely U.S. Voters now view the federal government unfavorably, with 34% who have a Very Unfavorable opinion of it.

Fifty-six percent (56%) of Democrats still pledge allegiance to the federal government, but pluralities of Republicans (45%) and those not affiliated with either major political party (44%) have more confidence in zombies when it comes to running the nation’s affairs.

Only six percent (6%) of all Americans anticipate a Zombie Apocalypse, so supporters of the federal government can rest easy. Eighty-two percent (82%) do not, but 12% are not sure.

Among those who expect a Zombie Apocalypse, 74% say they are at least somewhat prepared, with 53% who are Very Prepared.

For those without a sense of humor & insecure old men, vote here.

Do you wonder why you do not hear the unions bellyaching about ObamaCare anymore? It is because they have been given a carve-out for supporting the Democrat party. Union healthcare plans that have been gained through labor-management negotiations have been grandfathered in [(Sec. 1251(d)] without the costly ObamaCare requirements that are causing millions of others to lose their plans.

“It’s certainly time to impeach Obama for lying to us to sell a fraudulent product.”

Mr. Root, shame on you. I would have expected someone like you to be knowledgeable of the Constitution. By your incorrect standard, Bush could have been impeached for his “read my lips” statement, and Clinton would have gone down for his “I didn’t have sex with that woman” assertion on TV.

Mr. Root, lying is not an impeachable offense under the Constitution unless it’s perjury under oath.

Obama has committed impeachable offenses, but lying to the public is not one of them.

    • Chuckb

Vigilant, Clinton did go down for his “I didn’t have sex with that woman” assertion.and obstruction of justice. he was impeached,

      • Vigilant

Bullsh*t. He perjured himself under oath. Didn’t matter whether it was murder or jaywalking. The “I didn’t have sex with that woman” comment was made in the public forum and not in a court of law.

The grand jury indicted him for perjury, NOT a “sex crime,” and it’s about time you leftists stopped spreading that lie and trying to change history.

        • nc

Vigilant, what grand jury was that and where and when was he tried on grand jury charges??
Why would we on the left want to “change” history?? Slick Willy has never been convicted of anything! Great record! bush and cheney cannot say the same!!!!

          • WTS/JAY

Bill Clinton, the 42nd President of the United States, was impeached by theHouse of Representatives on two charges, one of perjury and one of obstruction of justice, on December 19, 1998.

Two other impeachment articles, a second perjury charge and a charge of abuse of power, failed in the House. He was acquitted by the Senate on February 12, 1999.

Independent Counsel Ken Starr alleged that Clinton had broken the law during his handling of the Lewinsky scandal and the Paula Jones lawsuit.

Four charges were considered by the full House of Representatives; only two passed, and those on a nearly party-line vote.

It was only the second time in history that the House had impeached the President of the United States, and only the third that the full House had considered such proceedings.

The trial in the United States Senate began soon after the seating of the 106th Congress, in which the Republicans began with 55 Senators.

A two-thirds majority (67 Senators) was required to remove Clinton from office.

Fifty Senators voted to remove Clinton on the obstruction of justice charge and 45 voted to remove him on the perjury charge; no Democrat voted guilty on either charge.

Although the impeachment and trial was broadly unpopular with the public, Clinton’s personal image suffered and Vice President Al Gore distanced himself from Clinton, which assisted George W. Bush in his successful presidential campaign against Gore in 2000.

So you could say, nc, that it was thanks to the Democrats that we ended up with Bush in office. Thanks for that, you dumb-azzez!

          • Deerinwater

            Impressive recount ` Jay.

So in a way, Monica’s Cow eyes and full luscious lips helped W secure the first chair position.

Or we could consider that it was partisan politics, that the Republicans victory was slow in coming, tak8ing a while to be fully recognized.

Same thinking could be applied but in reverse to, ~ Nixon/ Carter. the Republicans gave us Carter.

There is something in your accounting that is really worthy serious study and that is matter of “Run away Government”

For as you say, ~ “Although the impeachment and trial was broadly unpopular with the public,” and it was.

The will of the people was ignored and superseded by partisan politics.

i would think run-away government deserve address in some meaningful way. We need a “Dead Man switch” ~ an instrument to slow the train if not stop it of for only a few hours or days. This would allow for cooler, calmer heads to prevail.

What are your feeling about such things? Sometimes a “time-out” is good for everybody.

          • Vigilant

Article I of Impeachment: “The president provided perjurious, false and misleading testimony to the grand jury regarding the Paula Jones case and his relationship with Monica Lewinsky.
            Approved by House 228-206

Article 3: “The president obstructed justice in an effort to delay, impede, cover up and conceal the existence of evidence related to the Jones case.
            Approved by House 221-212

“Why would we on the left want to “change” history??”
Answer: to make it appear that it was the sexual peccadilloes and NOT the perjury of the president that got him impeached. You know that and I know that, so your question is stupid.

        • Chuckb

Vigilant, “leftist”? who said it was a sex crime? how the hell do you think he was impeached, “he lied under oath!!!!” by stating “he did not have sex with that woman!!T” that’s common for most Liberals.

“the President lied under oath to the grand jury
and obstructed justice during the grand jury investigation.
There also is substantial and credible information that the
President’s actions with respect to Monica Lewinsky constitute an
abuse of authority inconsistent with the President’s
constitutional duty to faithfully execute the laws.”

Calling someone a leftist is really a slanderous remark, that’s almost as bad as being one. I like to call you guys Bolsheviks, that’s more fitting.

          • Vigilant

            From Article 1:

“On August 17, 1998, William Jefferson Clinton swore to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth before a Federal grand jury of the United States. Contrary to that oath, William Jefferson Clinton willfully provided perjurious, false and misleading testimony to the grand jury concerning one or more of the following: (1) the nature and details of his relationship with a subordinate Government employee; (2) prior perjurious, false and misleading testimony he gave in a Federal civil rights action brought against him; (3) prior false and misleading statements he allowed his attorney to make to a Federal judge in that civil rights action; and (4) his corrupt efforts to influence the testimony of witnesses and to impede the discovery of evidence in that civil rights action.”

As I’ve always said, it didn’t matter if the perjury occurred in relation to a murder trial or jaywalking. Not one Democrat (leftist) voted to convict him, and then compound their guilt by promulgating the falsehood that Clinton was impeached for sexual affairs.

“On his final day in office, US President Bill Clinton admitted Friday for the first time that he made false statements in the Monica Lewinsky case and entered into a deal with independent counsel Robert Ray to avert an indictment after leaving office.

“I tried to walk a fine line between acting lawfully and testifying falsely, but I now recognize that I did not fully accomplish that goal and that certain of my responses to questions about Ms. Lewinsky were false,” Clinton said in a statement read by White House spokesman Jake Siewert.

“I hope my actions today will help bring closure and finality to these matters,” Clinton said.

“In return, independent counsel Robert Ray has concluded the Lewinsky case and dropped any plans to indict Clinton on criminal perjury charges after Clinton leaves office, Siewert said.”

So, technically you are correct. In reality, he did indeed commit perjury and admitted as much.

To the RINO Party, the PRIMARY concern is retaining, and increasing, THEIR power. That is why BIG government and BIG spending is as much a part of THEIR plans as it is the Democrat, liberal, progressive, communists. While they will SAY whatever it takes to GET elected, the will DO nothing that adversely affects their power even if it means shafting their constituents. They COUNT on short memories and name recognition.

All politicians of every stripe in the District of Criminals refer to themselves as members of “THE CLUB”. This is a known established fact. All evidence supports this because the District of Criminals acts as and is de facto a US MAFIA enterprise that happens to come with its own unlimited money supply that grows on trees known as the FED to support all of its nefarious activities. Does the mafia recognize the US Constitution or US law? NO! It does whatever the don allows it to and even sometimes kills the don. It breaks laws routinely and the laws it makes are for controlling its turf. Does the mafia care about the people in their mob turf? No, but they extract and extort tribute from them. Does the mafia engage in blackmail and bribery? You betcha! Does the mafia payoff its big time crime bosses handsomely? Sure, unless you want to get whacked! We are only kidding ourselves if we honestly believe there is any hope of the political party that gave us 9/11 suddenly betraying the mob it is so obviously a part of. Boehner, McConnell, Gingrich, Hoyer, Pelosi, almost all Directors of the CIA since 1964, all of the State Propaganda Ministry Chairmen and CEO’s, almost all CEO’s of globalist corporations, many federal judges including Supreme Court Justices, countless Congressmen and Senators, and numerous highly influential government officials and gatekeepers are members of the CFR and many are 33rd degree Luciferian Freemasons. The “D” and the “R” behind their names are just there to fool the public. They might as well stand for “Despicable” and “Rotten”. These guys sit on their yachts and golf courses laughing their asses off at how easy they can now commit their crimes in broad daylight. Their predecessors never had it so easy. Without a military coup or secession, none of this will ever change. We must be patient and allow God to judge our churches that have allowed this to happen, this evil government, and the evil ones in our land because there is nothing we can do at this juncture and there will be no military coup if there hasn’t been one already. It will get much much worse. There will be many of us killed when the Russians and Chinese invade us in the future after we break out in civil war. Keep your eyes on the Lord because what we are witnessing is a situation we can no longer stop.

Alandra,,, well, we should be fighting against any form of Talibanism,
restricting women’s and others rights to choose how they see fit for
themselves and not any political entity. You seem to be saying we are
under some form of Religious rule while our Constitution strictly
forbids any specific religion to do that in any way – it would
negate “Freedom Of Religion”. But you seem to be going into the
nether land with what you say here. You do not pop the exaggeration
pills, along with whatever side effects that come along for the ride, that the Right feeds you too often, do you?

      • Vigilant

Instead of attempting to hijack the conversation off into the weeds, how about addressing the link Alondra provided?

As “fighting against any form of Talibanism,” do you suggest attacking every nation that doesn’t have the freedoms we are guaranteed?

        • macgyver1948

Vigilant… If you know of the Taliban, the ones we are fighting in Afghanistan, you should also know they, for their own religious purposes and for control, prevent women from being free to be themselves . That is what I see here in America from many on the so-called religious Right in these pages and in the news.

As for giving Alondra’s link notice. I did and gave it and her the respect she deserves. If she could get past her blind anger, immediately offered when she doesn’t like other people’s right to express their different-from-her views, maybe she could have a respectful conversation. She is nothing by anger right from her first response to those she disagrees with and that makes it difficult to offer her respect for whatever she says. But she is not nearly alone in her attitudes being on the side of the aisle she is so she much be cumphy in her anger and rashness. She needs to grow up and offer what she would like for herself – respect for others rights and beliefs whether religious or political.

      • Bob666

If you still believe President Obama is a secret Muslim who wants to spread Islamic law in the US, consider this:

When you look carefully at many Islamic countries, you’ll see they tend to share these values….

        –they’re anti-abortion

–they’re very supportive of the death penalty

–they oppose the separation of church and state (in fact, believe in theocracy, i might add)

–they believe religious doctrine should be taught in school

–they tend to believe women should have fewer rights than men

        –they oppose “Multi-culturism”

–they consider homosexuality as evil and believe gay marriage should be outlawed

If President Obama really wanted to spread Islamic law in America, he’d be…a Republican!

  • Chuckb

Alondra, Barry is supplying arms to the Muslim Brotherhood at this time, He supported them in Egypt and There are some who declare this was why our Embassy in Benghazi was destroyed.

Our President in my opinion is a Muslim and if he isn’t, he’s so sympathetic to them that it would make no difference.
This Administration is full of Communist and Muslims, what a mixture, however, I believe Barry is manipulated by Communist Jewsh influence and if the Amnesty Bill is passed, we are finished as a Republic and headed for a totalitarian Government.

    • pdlane

Chuckb…. Benghazi was not an embassy, nor was it even a U.S. Consulate, although the corporate controlled media along with the rabble-rousing, ignoramus tea party members in Congress keep calling it a Consulate.

FYI…Benghazi was a CIA False Flag cover site. There were no Department of State personnel assigned there or working there.
The Ambassador was there to introduce the CIA operatives to Libyan rebels who he knew from his past time in Libya.

BTW.., it was the Libyan rebels who rushed the Ambassador to the hospital in an effort to save his life. While the CIA retreated to their “Safe House”, abandoning the Ambassador,

      Check the records.

      • macgyver1948

pdlane … Finally the truth about the place and who took
the Ambassador to the hospital is here on this site. It was a horrible shame that the attack took place but lets call the
        joint what it really is.

BTW, what could possibly be wrong with the Tea Party and all those GOP they own for America? Maybe everything.

I believe you are wasting your energy telling many here to “Check the records”. It is not important enough for them to do their own research if it could be possible for them to find out what they chose to believe is not true. That is another shame.

Alondra…Betsy McCaughey is a Conservative so of course she will push the Right’s agendas no matter what. Of course she will, especially now, try to help Conservatives retain or gain seats in this month’s elections, that is her chosen job. We seem to forget, as the Right fights for, there are forced into ObamaCare GOP items, very much including the
dreaded GOP “Mandate” which was included in the GOP attempt at National Health Care in 1992 in Congress. It failed in Congress then because it was bad for us but the TPGOP are still trying to replace
ObamaCare with their bad replacements. Betsy McCaughey is very good at her job for Obama haters.

The attempt of ObamaCare is in its official name and as huge as it is that becomes a tough endeaver. It doesn’t help to blame Obama for all that goes wrong especially the huge Website for Ocare that has technical problems he did not code at all. But the Right will take all they can to blame Obama especially as much as they are loosing in their hurtful attempts, such as in their TPGOP Government Shutdown and the
TPGOP causing the American credit rating to drop from AAA in 2011.

We need to both support and fix ObamaCare, not kill it, or replace it with weaker or more hurtful TPGOP national health care plans. Those GOP Health Care Plans are as bad for the non-affluent as the Ryan
          Economic plans are for us.

          • macgyver1948

This is to TheOriginalDaveH. In an email to me from Disqus they say you say, and I cannot find it now, (you begin with) “Increasing the minimum wage? How ignorant. Companies don’t hire people who don’t produce more than they cost the company in wages and benefits. Raising the minimum wage just…”.
Their article heading link brought me here.

We continue to hear there are so many vacant and open jobs. If this is true whey should I, or anyone, work for you if you do not pay a livable wage? I am not saying pay me what you pay yourself but pay me wage I can live on without looking of the handout I do not want. After all, if you are offering the job, and I do not see any employer looking for ways to further burden their expenses, you need that worked performed or you would either do it yourself or not offer it.

Also, so many low paid workers feel trapped in lousy low paying jobs because a lot of what is offered by other employers is also paying lousy unlivable wages so please do not suggest “if you do not like
your job here just quit and go someplace else”. All too often, in the job postings, “We offer competitive wages” really means “We pay as poorly as so our competitors”.

By the way TheOriginalDaveH, to your “ Companies don’t hire people who don’t produce more than
they cost the company in wages and benefits”. How do the companies know how an applicant will produce before they begin working for them? LOL… Just asking…

          • TheOriginalDaveH

You are making no sense, MacGyver. Companies hire people to make money. If the worker can’t produce more than he’s paid, why would they want to hire him? They would just keep that money and employ it in some way that would give them a return on their money, whether that be investing in financial instruments, CDs, or some other venture.
If the wage is “unlivable”, then get skills that are in demand and make a “livable” wage.

MacGyver says (with the typical Liberal Progressive gratuitous manipulative LOL) — “How do the companies know how an applicant will produce before they begin working for them?”.
They don’t, MacGyver. That’s why they screen the applicants and try to get the best producer for the job. But if that employee isn’t producing, they will get rid of him if Government doesn’t interfere and transfer the slacker’s load to somebody else’s back.

          • macgyver1948

TheOriginalDaveH… What didn’t you understand for it to not make sense to you? You here say “Companies hire people to make money. If the worker can’t produce more than he’s paid, why would they want to hire him? They would just keep that money and employ it in some way that would give them a return on their money, whether that be investing in financial instruments, CDs, or some other venture”. Of course screening is a hopeful payoff. It is every companies hope when they hire people they will not cost them a lot, since payroll is a huge expense by
definition, and that the hire-ee produce while they are employed with them. Employees are expenses, or investments to corporations, but they are of the “cost center” king of entity. It is in the hope of every company that the employee produces to justify the expense/ investment in them. This is just common sense so why do you feel the need to bring it up? I bet I know…

I agree If the “wage is “unlivable”, then get skills that
are in demand and make a “livable” wage. We all need to do that but that takes time. What about in the mean time especially if the worker has a family? What about a single person’s needs in living? If it cost more to maintain themselves on the tiny salary how does that justify working for that company in personal accounting and finance terms? What about for those who did not go into the service for the GI Bill or just cannot afford to get financial aid or education loans?

It needs to be fair on both sides, not ONLY on the employer’s side. And every worker needs representation that isn’t owing his/her paycheck
to the employer as so many companies “offer” thinking that is fair and just.

Good Grief, MacGyver. How can you assume such a moniker when you likely couldn’t find your way out of a wet paper bag?

MacGyver says — “What about in the mean time especially if the worker has a family?”.
What about the worker who must carry his own load, and then must pay taxes also to carry the other man’s load?
There is no Free Lunch, MacGyver, no matter what the Propagandists taught you in public school. Every person that gets an above-market wage must be carried by other people in the economy. You should ask the North Koreans, or the Cubans about livable wages. They make about 1/5 the income that Americans make. Yet you and your cohorts want to follow their lead:

TheOriginalDaveH… So you again go after the screen name I chose when you use the moniker “TheOriginalDaveH”. Talk about digging deep when you have nothing else. I chose that screen name in the mid 80s during the old AOL days. I admired that TV
Macgyver because of his character, he cared about the weakest of us and all who needed and deserved help. What is “Original” about you when all you are is just another cookie-cutter piece out of the childishly angry programmed Right mass production bucket?

So many times I hear about the Free Lunch thing, that there is none. I know that Original one and I am not asking for one either for myself or anyone else. It is in your compassionless life that you miss the points.

I like this in a comment from Deerinwater that hints of you and many like you which is part of the cookie-cutter piece that is you. Deerinewater reminds us Jesus said “As you do to the least among you, you do to me”. Why do you guys not care about those in need? For sure you are no Macgyver of the TV show in any way.

            More argumentum ad hominem.
Do you ever have any new material, MacGyver?

          • macgyver1948

TheOriginalDaveH… Actually I do have original material as stuff emerges, and the Tea Party/GOP and guys like you offers so much all the time, but mostly
as long as there are hurtful hypocritical people such as you and your handlers I will say what I feel needs to be said as often and the needs exist. I just enjoy the US Constitution and America, and what they offer, too much to allow you and yours to distort and fracture them.

How is that for “More argumentum ad hominem”? Since you cannot tolerate being disagreed with and as long as you deny others what you show you feel should be good only for those who agree with you you are distorting and fracturing the Constitution and America. It is in the acceptances of others rights, as much as you want for yourself, that gives the Constitution its truth for all of us, not your kinds ways.

I would love to debate you on specific points, but first I have to be able to understand what you’re trying to say.

          • Deerinwater

Hmm? So when Hillary makes money by exploration it’s bad but when Companies exploit workers to make money it;s good!

okay David , I think that I’ve got it.

I exploit labor to make money as well, ~ so I guess that i’m just evil?

The different is that I pay people what they are worth to me, If I can net before taxes 1800.00 in a single day , I pay labor $500.00 for a good days work. ~ I don’t see that he is being overpaid or underpaid.

If I have a less productive day, ~ say net, $300.00, I pay him $20.00 per hour for however long that it took him to do the work. And someday’s we don’t work at all and he gets paid nothing.

My tote & fetch entry level people make $10.00 per hour up to $14.oo depending on experience and how well they perform.

I don’t take on jobs that don’t promise me returns to pay my people well.

i consider myself generous and a very demanding man that sells a quality product and offered no excuses for price and accept no excuses for a job that does not meet my standards.

i promise my people that they will never get rich working for me but will be much like myself, ~ live a life on chicken one day and feathers the next.

But there is no way, ~ I’d ever expect people to give me a good days work for $8.00 per hour. And that is what hundreds of thousands of people are being employed for today. $8.00 per hour is a slow death sentence.

          • TheOriginalDaveH

A lot of obtuse comment there, Deer. But then, that’s what we’ve come to expect from you.
If you think those people should be paid more than they’re worth to the company owners, then you should hire them. I mean, after all, if somebody is expected to lose money on them — why not you?

          • Deerinwater

~No one person should be paid more then they are worth David ~ Why would you say such a thing?

But when worth of labor is deduced by demand of markets forces and can be manipulated, such matters gets tricky. ~

In a way, ~ this “worth” issue goes to the core of our problem today. For unless the wealthy in our country today can see making huge profits, ~ profits that they have became accustom to over the last 40 years, they see no reason to spend or invest. Yet, ~ the labor earned dollar has taken a serious beating in this same time period.

For what else might explain 8 years of Tax Cuts failing to create jobs and stimulate economic growth? ~ What happen? Well? It’s clear ! Just more profit taking. Profit Taking that started in the early 80’s at the expense of “Labor” and American “jobs”.

Wealthy people are not required to spend their money. ~ While it is required that everyone attempt to feed and cloths themselves while 60 % of our nations wealth is “now” in the hands of 8 families. All created from the 40 years of earning disparity.

And quit calling me names ~ Unless you want to start a war ~ that will require Mr. Livingston to get involved.

I tire of it, my tolerance is growing thin. Attempt to elevate your message.

          • TheOriginalDaveH

Deer says — “But when worth of labor is deduced by demand of markets forces and can be manipulated, such matters gets tricky”.
Worth is subjective and can only properly be determined by the principals in a transaction. That is, in the case of an individual employee, by the worker and his employer. No committee of people, who have no skin in the game, is qualified to make that decision for the worker or the owner of a company.

It’s funny how you Liberal Progressives can use vague generalizations like “huge profits”, but conveniently overlook all the investors and owners who have had “huge losses”. Owning companies is a big risk. If it wasn’t, anybody could/would do it. Also overlooked is the fact that they make those profits from voluntary transactions (at least when Government isn’t involved). If you don’t like the price of their products — Don’t Buy Them! That’s your choice.

Deer says — “For what else might explain 8 years of Tax Cuts failing to create jobs and stimulate economic growth?”.
Have you heard the saying, Deer, that “It’s the Spending, Stupid”? Whether the Government pays for their spending with current revenues (taxes) or with future revenues (debt) makes little difference in the overall scheme of things. They spend that money consuming wealth. The Private Sector creates wealth. The Public Sector consumes wealth. Government has been consuming an ever-increasing portion of this country’s wealth for the last 100 years. In 1900 Government spent 5% of this country’s GDP. Now they spend over 40% of GDP. Is it any wonder that wages are down, even in the face of huge productivity increases, for the last 100 years?

The people at Personal Liberty have given you every opportunity to learn what’s really going on, Deer, but you seem to prefer living in ignorance. We have tried to educate you to the fact that there are those business owners (Crony Capitalists) who indeed take advantage of the people using Government as their enablers, and there are businesses who earn their livings by pleasing their customers (Market Capitalists). It’s not fair at all to lump them all together.

Deer says — “And quit calling me names ~ Unless you want to start a war ~ that will require Mr. Livingston to get involved”.
Then don’t call me names, Deer. What name did I call you, by the way?

          • macgyver1948

TheOriginalDaveH… Yes, but by those not responsible to any side of the aisle or to corporations but who are only responsible to those they will consider in their efforts. Who will run the unelected posts in the needed
bureaucratic agencies if not those appointed and oked by the elected ones? Do we need to go through n election process for all the bureaucracies as well? Part of the elected officials job, if it is in their job description to recommend a qualified, and hopefully ethical, person for those jobs. You are right when you say there is no need for a study to see what we need in this regard. It would be unnecessary as well as a miserable failure as well as costly. There are necessary bureaucratic agencies but there are also some who should be gone, Now that is where the need to study lies – what is needed by We The People and what isn’t. Is the environment important enough to keep safe from pollutions, for example, or is it more
important to help keep corporate expenses down and bottom lines up at the expense of the environment? Just one of many examples.

Many of us “Liberal Progressives (do not) champion Government Monopoly” if those monopolies are hurtful, at least we hope we do not. Why do so many on the Right take what they are told in that regard? Many of us “Liberal Progressive” types want responsible government with only responsible and needed services. I know enough about business to
want all the benefits of what I have in my own company but the expenses that are justified. I ran so many small to enterprise size systems projects and I had to explain ever ½ penny of expenses and justify them or I wouldn’t have been promoted as often as I was.I
took enough finance courses in grad school and in classes my employers sent me to to understand that as well as the needs and wants of my employers.

So why is it again you think you know what many “Liberal Progressives” want and think and feel? Who is framing your thinking about us “Liberal Progressives” for you to be telling us what we want and believe?

By the way, Monopolies, public or private, can be either good or bad, depending on the ethics of the monopoly builders.

          • TheOriginalDaveH

MacGyver says (besides a lot of nothing) — “Is the environment important enough to keep safe from pollutions, for example, or is it moreimportant to help keep corporate expenses down and bottom lines up at the expense of the environment?”.
Non Sequitur, MacGyver. Pollution has nothing to do with whether meddlesome bureaucrats will cost us more in the Healthcare Field or not.

MacGyver says — “By the way, Monopolies, public or private, can be either good or bad, depending on the ethics of the monopoly builders”.
And that decision will be made by who? Monopolies are never good. But they have never existed in the Private Sector, as they can only exist by Force, such as the Force of Government.

          • macgyver1948

TheOriginalDaveH… By now we should all know your kind cares more for the Corporations’ needs than your side does for people’s needs, nothing new here.
Whatever it had to do with I was generalizing to your comment. And despite what you have to say, Obamacare is better, even with all the forced-in extorted TPGOP items, including their dreaded and scary GOP “Mandate” (OOOO and Halloween just ended and it is even “funnier” that the GOPs Mandate is now in OCare and you guys put it down now.
Why didn’t you guys put it down when it was in the GOP attempt at National Health Care in 1992 going through Congress for passage and again later, also in RomneyCare as well? That was one of the many
reasons Romney lost, had mush lower votes there than Obama, so badly in Massachusetts while running for President. LOL), then the TPGOP suggested replacement Health Care Programs. We need to work on ObamaCare and remove what is not good in it and we need to start with the TPGOP items and go from there since OCare is now a law and in progress. Oh, sorry I used the word “progress” in any form as
your side show they do not like Progressive peoples as that in itself is an unholy concept.

If only the Monopolies you can think of are bad it is probably because of the greed and apathy of those “monopoly builders”. You probably miss that because of what your side’s leaders dictate to you in how they want you to believe. Perhaps they do not want you to notice that in them and their actions and from those they support, the greedy and apathetic Corporations, LOL. I said it how I wanted to. There are some corporations who are not “greedy and apathetic”. I am not so sure if any of the huge ones fit that not “greedy and apathetic” part.

          • TheOriginalDaveH

MacGyver says — “By now we should all know your kind cares more for the Corporations’ needs than your side does for people’s needs”.
That may work on your ignorant fellow Liberal Progressives, MacGyver, but you are hardly concerned about the people’s needs. If you were, you would distance yourself from the Socialist agenda which has been proven a failure wherever it has been fully implemented and thus could not ride on the coat-tails of Capitalists.
Look at the bottom of this list to see the countries where the people have been stupefied enough to swallow your kind of politics:

This happened when Gingrich had just won the Speakership in 1994 before he was even seated as Speaker during the lameduck session. That’s how devious CFR Gingrich is!

5.) 2 trillion dollars stolen from the US taxpayers given to Obama by the GOP to give to his political cronies on August 1st, 2011. This nasty piece of legislation was even supported by 68 out of 80 so-called GOP “TEA Partiers” freshly elected to Congress including Allan West.
6.) Support for Patriot Act, NDAA, the DHS’ massive ammo, tank, assault vehicle, and assault rifle purchases with OUR taxpayer money and the NSA – all of which are outrageous violations of the 4th Amendment.

7.) Refusal to properly investigate 9/11.
8.) refusal to investigate Obama’s illegitimacy and numerous crimes.

    10.) refusal to defund Obamacare

12.) refusal to investigate FEMA Camps.

Wow! That’s quite a “Charge” Mr. Root. ~ I started to address one of you claims last night and was cursed with a slow browser problem and gave it up.

Let’s see if this darn thing wants to work this morning.

    “The Claim”;

“The 46 million Americans in poverty is twice as large as the population of Syria.”

The population of Syria 22,530,746 (July 2012 est.) ~ close enough, impressive!

” Another 2.6 million people slipped into poverty in the United … year, up from 45 million in 2009, said Trudi Renwick, a Census official. ..” ~ Wow! right again! ~ of course this is somewhat misleading. As I’m left to ask ~ when did these 45 million gain this poverty status. ~~ should i continue Mr. Root?

Hang on while I pour myself another cup of Sunday morning coffee, be right back.

    http://www.census.gov/prod/2013pubs/acsbr12-01.pdf

    “HIGHLIGHTS

    • For the first time since 2007–2008, the ACS poverty rate for the nation did not change between

    2011 and 2012.2

    • The number and percentage of people in poverty

did not change in 43 states and the District of

    Columbia between 2011 and 2012.

    • Nationally, between 2000 and 2012, the percentage of people in poverty increased from 12.2 percent to 15.9 percent, while the number of people

in poverty increased from 33.3 million to 48.8

    million.

    • Both the number and percentage of people in

poverty increased in 44 states between 2000 and

    2012.

    • The percentage of people in the United States with

income below 50 percent of the poverty thresholds

grew from 5.0 percent in 2000 to 7.0 percent in

2012. Over this period, the percentage of people

with income below 125 percent of the poverty

thresholds grew from 16.5 percent to 20.8 percent.

    • Among the largest 25 metropolitan areas, poverty

rates in 2012 ranged from 8.4 percent to 19.0

    percent.

The estimates contained in this report are based on the

2000 to 2012 ACS. Since 2005, the ACS has been conducted every month with income data collected for the

12 months preceding the interview. Since the survey

is continuous, adjacent ACS years have some income

reference months in common. Therefore, comparing

the 2011 ACS with the 2012 ACS is not an exact comparison of the economic conditions in 2011 with those

in 2012 and comparisons should be interpreted with

    care.

    http://www.census.gov/prod/2013pubs/acsbr12-01.pdf

Well Mr. Root, ~ I do believe that your “Charge” has just been blown out of the water. As hard evidence indicated that the current administration has for now , stalled this growth in ranks of American finding themselves in poverty today.

That charge again ? ” One thing that is clear is Obama and his socialist cabal is destroying this country, step-by-step, minute by minute. He’s killing jobs, strangling the economy, snuffing out capitalism, destroying our children’s and grandchildren’s lives with massive debt, demonizing business owners, punishing success, and redistributing income from the makers (the job creators) to the takers (his voters). ”

The omission of facts, while you speak only the truth in your support is very deceiving Mr. Root, and make your “charge ” FALSE. ` That I bother to expose it, required only a small effort.

It seems that GW Bush’s administration’s doorstep is where this claim deserves to be placed.

  • Deerinwater

Should I investigate another supporting claim? ~ Why not? ~

    here’s a no brainier.

“A majority of Americans with 401K savings accounts are accumulating debt faster than retirement savings.”

This claim is very sad and very true, ~ Many aspiring Americans took a very hard hit with their 401K . But it had nothing to do with the current administration. Someone needed to go to Jail over it. It was Wall Street and corporate interest that turned the 401 K plan into a “Retirement instrument” while it was never intended to be one, as it didn’t offer the security offered by a Retirement Plan. ~ The proof is in the pudd’n wouldn’t you say? That American’s were dupped into thinking and believing otherwise was a Crime that has went unpunished. ~ and suggesting to Wall Street that they could get away with anything without serious penalty. The events of late October 2008 prove them to be correct. ~ They are too big to fail, too big to punish without the rest of the world to suffer as well.

But ~ this event is not now or has ever been connected to the current sitting administration. That said, the current administrations later efforts at Wall Street and banking reform was met with stiff resistance by the current GOP and supported by rank and file. ~ some watered down reform was managed and achieved while currently ~ the fox is still being allowed to guard the hen house.

So once again , ~ no support to the charge , “One thing that is clear is Obama and his socialist cabal is destroying this country, step-by-step, minute by minute. He’s killing jobs, strangling the economy, snuffing out capitalism, destroying our children’s and grandchildren’s lives with massive debt, demonizing business owners, punishing success, and redistributing income from the makers (the job creators) to the takers (his voters)”

and once again ~ Mr. Root is blown out of the water.

  • Deerinwater

One more, ` and maybe it’s warming up enough outside that it will be a wonderful Sunday morning.

Any, many, might,Moe, catch Obama by his toe, ~ I choose this one !

    Claim;

“Nearly half of Americans have less than $500 in savings.” ~

hmm? ~ That probably correct ~ money is money ~ call it anything that you want to. ~ discretionary, savings , committed , leveraged ~ I serious doubt if 25% of American’s have $500.00 in the mattress.

I can remember a time, I had bearly two dime to rub together, but unlike many of my friends, I carried no debit. ~ those were my two dimes. My two dimes best the hell out of their Ski boat, lake cabin and new car of which they really didn’t own. ~ That was my savings! .20 cents.

Again, this does nothing to support Mr. Roots charge against the current administration. so once again, Mr. Root is blown out of the water.
