Ponzi-scheme financier Bernard Madoff appears in court in New York

On June 29, 2009, Federal Judge Denny Chin sentenced disgraced financier and prominent Democratic Party donor Bernard Madoff to 150 years in Federal prison for his leadership of what has often been described as the largest financial fraud in human history. Thanks to a combination of his advanced years, the length of his sentence and the fact that the Federal Correctional Institute in Butner, N.C., doesn’t offer the therapeutic comforts of Madoff’s oceanfront estate, Madoff will leave prison toes first. It’s hard for me to suggest he deserves better. It’s also hard for me to ignore the only reason Madoff didn’t get away with it: he’s not a politician.

Barring yet another setback, Obamacare detonates in less than two months. With the employer mandate already delayed until the proverbial 12th of Never; the Obama Administration is now quietly admitting that the armies of flunkies they’re training to herd Americans into Obama’s insurance abattoir are nowhere near ready to take on their appointed task.

Although they were only expected to complete 30 hours of education on the 2,700-page legislative behemoth, they’re apparently lagging behind the curve like the Washington, D.C. government schools matched against the private citadel to which Obama and other super-privileged liberals send their own progeny. So, rather than delay implementation to avoid a General Motors bailout-type disaster, the Feds cut the training requirement by a third. With half the program already in the trash, Obama took the other half and handed it over to people who will be almost as well-trained as the overweight police department reject who strip-searched your grandmother at the airport.

At least you’ll get to keep your existing plan. When Obama rammed his healthcare folly down the throats of the majority of Americans who have never supported it, he tried to allay our fears by promising: “If you have insurance that you like, then you will be able to keep that insurance. If you’ve got a doctor that you like, you will be able to keep your doctor.” Like most of Obama’s promises, his healthcare guarantee ran like a Chevy Volt: short-lived and highly flammable. According to the current Department of Health and Human Services website: “Depending on the plan you choose in the Marketplace, you may (emphasis mine) be able to keep your current doctor.” And if you purchased your insurance after 2010, “may” becomes “DOA.” Post-2010 plans are not eligible; meaning the newest entrants to the market — on average the youngest — lost the biggest.

But Obamacare will reduce the cost of keeping healthy. Obama first made that promise in 2008. Then, this past March, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius acknowledged that those least able to afford higher premiums would be exempted from the lower cost promise like Congress and their union thug cronies have been exempted from Obamacare entirely: “These folks will be moving into a really fully insured product for the first time, and so there may be a higher cost associated with getting into that market…”

Former Democratic Party fuehrer Howard Dean admitted last week that the death panels they’ve been denying for six years not only exist, but are nothing but bad news. Congressman James Clyburn (D-S.C.) acknowledged this past weekend that “we are going to be tweaking Obamacare for a long, long time.” And Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid fessed up to the fraud last Friday thusly: “…Obamacare is…a step in the right direction, but we’re far from having something that’s going to work forever…”

Every promise Obama and his accomplices have made regarding every major facet of Obamacare has turned out to be as honest as a Lois Lerner deposition. What’s more, thanks to the Democrats’ machinations last week, they bear none of the risk and none of the cost. If that’s not fraud, then Bernie Madoff was just a misunderstood philanthropist with a slight gambling problem. Madoff ran a scheme which torched somewhere in the neighborhood of $65 billion. If he served every minute of his sentence, he wouldn’t walk until his 201st birthday. As it stands now, Obamacare will lift nearly $2 TRILLION from our collective wallets over the next decade. By the time Obama finally vacates the Oval Office, he will have served no time at all. Let this be a lesson to future Ponzi, Bunko and flim-flam artists: Get elected first.

I fear we will not do anything. If we were going to fix this mess we would have done it by now. The battle was lost quite some time ago. Perhaps no education, only indoctrination. Perhaps a complete loss of morality and ethics. Perhaps too much fluoride in the drinking water.

I don’t know. But things are worse than bad. Something really bad is coming our way. If some of us survive it, maybe we can do something. But things right now are looking worse than anything we have ever seen in our lifetimes.

    • Paul

      Robert,
There are more truths in what you are saying than you may realize. Everything that is happening is supposed to be. It is spelled out in Revelations. Sadly enough, the only way humans learn their lesson is when facing total destruction. All ingredients are in place. It will ALL hit at the same time like a ton of bricks. Hang tight, buddy. There is hope in the horizon.

“If you like your insurance, you can keep it.” Not so, as in many cases, it will no longer exist.
“If you like your doctor, you can keep him.” Not so, as in many cases, he has already decided on an early retirement.
“Medical costs will go down.” Not so. They have already gone up…a lot.
“There are no death panels.” Not so. Especially if you are a senior and need an expensive procedure, it will no longer be up to you and your doctor.

    • Warrior

I wonder what hourly salary an “organized” MD will be paid? I’ll bet there will be “charter” hospitals where “cash is king” too! The “public” scrool model has been just soo successful it needs to be duplicated. There’s your “end game”.

  • paul

Have you noticed how the media is afraid to call it like it is? This president is flat out a LIAR. No matter how you turn it, a lie is a lie.

  • tygresss1

I mainly only have 2 questions for Obama… 1. If Obamacare is so good why is it that NO ONE in Government wants to be on it? 2. Why don’t you want the American people to see any of your papers that you’ve had sealed? You could put an end to all the guessing if you’d just try an be honest for once!

  • JMichaelOHara

Crystal, why do you feel compelled to lie about this program? In particular, the point about “keeping your doctor”. Whenever some person or company changes their insurance carrier, there is a chance that the roster of health care providers in the new program will not be the same as those in the old program. Every doctors’ office and hospital finance room has a sign on the desk, indicating which insurance programs they are participants in. Obamacare (ACA) does not dictate a change in carriers (or doctors). If you find better coverage or cheaper rates with one of the carriers on the exchange list but also find that your favorite doctor is not on the list of participants, then you have a choice. You can choose to go with that carrier (and find a new favorite provider) or stick with your current program (and your old favorite doctor).
Also, you know perfectly well that there are no government employees charged with making decisions about an individual’s health care (what people think of when you write “death panels”) but you use the phrase anyway to get people angry about something that doesn’t exist while distracting them from the actual “death panels” in the private insurance industry. There are thousands of clerks employed by the insurance companies whose job it is to find ways to deny coverage for claimants. These people have been working hard at this task for decades and (unfortunately) the ACA does not put them out of a job. It does, however, limit their harm by requiring the carriers to cover people with pre-existing conditions, eliminating life-time expense limits and allowing young adults to stay on the family policy.
No – the legislation isn’t perfect – it was invented and promoted by a conservative think tank and supported by Republicans and later engineered by the private insurance companies to support their businesses – but it was the best that could be done at the time. If you know of any perfect legislation, we’d all like to read about it in your next post.

  • Dave

Another useless post by Ben. But then that is nothing new… Ben and his conservative friends were all too happy to keep the failed status quo. The ACA is not perfect but its better than what we had.
If Ben or any other of the corporatists like him wanted make the system better, he would push for getting the employer out of being the end user of HC, he would push to end useless expensive tests that pad the wallets of doctors and hospitals and end farm subsidies that make it less expensive to make the fast food that is ruining out health. He would also stop the big pharma industry from creating new patients… But as with any other corporatist conservative, he thinks that the grand solution is to limit lawsuits for medical malpractice which conveniently ignores the fact the the population is now older and using more HC services or that people do not have the time to exercise due to Reaganomics pushing people to work more just to keep the same standard of living as people did before we were inflicted with Ronald Reagan.
All these conservative loudmouths can certainly repeat GOP/Conservative talking points… Its just too bad they are short on solutions. But then again, solutions are not what conservatives care about… They just need to keep the hate fires burning against Obama. Its the only thing they know how to do well.

    • Dave

BTW Ben, since you used Madoff for your BS example…. The big banks did the EXACT same thing Madoff did… How many of the banksters are going to jail Ben?
Madoff is going to jail because he broke the one rule that ensures you jail time… He ripped of the wealthy…
If you rip off the middle class and poor, you get bailed out and a stronger market position by using the bail out money to buy your competition.
But as a shill for big business Ben, you know this.

      • rendarsmith

And who bailed the banks out with our money?

        • Dave

The GOP and Democratic parties that are paid handsomely by the big banks.
This is why the largest threat to American is not the red herrings conservatives like to talk about… illegal immigration, terrorism, the surge of “socialism”… Its large amounts of money in the political process…

    • hippybiker

Hate fires, Dave? A lot of folks in this country are struggling to pay their bills, and put food on the table, and your hero O-Bozo uses a 69 million dollar Marine Helicopter to transport his Frigging dog to Martha’s Vineyard for yet another high class vacation. This was at the expense of the American people, by the way. I think hate is the incorrect word. It is more like outright disgust.

      • Dave

Oh give it a rest will you? Did you begrudge Reagan, Bush 1 and Bush 2 from taking FAR more vacation than Obama has in his 5 years? Of course not… How do you think Bush 2 and Reagan got to their palacial ranches and vacation destinations like Bush’s fishing trips in Kennebunkport ME? Bush was financed in total by Saudi interests… But that didn’t stop you from voting for that traitor twice did it?
You want to blame someone for the economy? Throw your hate to Reagan and his congresses, Clinton and his congresses before you hate on Obama. We have a Congress right now that has record low approval and who have done little to help bring the economy back.
But you can regurgitate GOP talking points well, I will give you that.

        • Bill

          Dave,
Tell us in specifics how you would fix the economy

          • Dave

            First,
Limit political contributions to $50 per person/group per election cycle to any party/candidate (Make the elections a 6 month cycle and make them publicly funded) getting big monied interests out of the political arena is key to good gov. Get rid of the FEC and replace with a body that fosters more parties getting invloved.
            Then
Any trade agreement that takes jobs away from Americans, eliminate it…
get employers out of being the end user of HC, put it where it belongs.. at the patient/doctor level.
Eliminate all farm subsidies so good food is cheaper to bring to market than the bad stuff.
Reduce the military budget to between 250B-300B and use the balance to inprove our infrastructure (that means more jobs) and reforming the educational system so that kids are prepared to do battle in the global economy.
End the drug war and make all drugs legal.
Bring all troops home from Germany, Japan and all the other countries we do not need to be in.
Reward teachers with free education if they teach in low income areas for at least 4 years.
Give significant college tuition breaks if you volunteer to help the country (military, peace corp, help build infrastructure in the country)
End financial aid to any country that does not share what we say we stand for (freedom, democracy etc)
Move to fund cleaner energies and end oil subsidies to make it easier for solar, wind to compete in the marketplace…
            Thats a start….
See unlike many of these conservative corporatist shills (including authors here that are not even American) that whine like little girls… I propose solutions.

Document for us the number of times Reagan,

            Sit dog sit…. Good dog.

          • independent thinker

As I expected you cannot document Reagan, Bush, Bush, or Clinton using separate transportation for a pet that could and should fly with the president on his plane or stay at home. That is what the original post you replied to is about NOT the number of vacations taken by each president.

          • Dave

Oh, so that is where you want to take it? How about all the Macke dresses for the elaborate balls King and Queen Reagan threw at the WH?
Who fit the bill for the psychic that Nancy Reagan employed to help Ron make polict decisions?

          • Dave

Go back to Fox so they can tell you what to be outraged over tomorrow.

          • Don 2

Dave, I have a serious question. What news network should people be listening to instead of FOX?

          • Dave

Watch Fox and MSNBC if you need to know what the GOP and Democratic talking points are.
Otherwise… read, watch and listen to everything. Including foreign sources. The less sensationalistic the better. Hopefully you understand how to listen and comprehend and then you can come to valid conclusions.

          • Don 2

Of course you know that FOX is killing the rest of cable in the ratings. You don’t suppose that has anything to do with the fact that they cover much of what the rest of the state-run media won’t? Not everyone can, nor do they want to spend all day watching and listening to politics. Some people actually have a life.

            Foreign sources – yes.

ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNMC – a waste of time.

Bush spends time in his own home. Obummer spends $100,000.000 on a trip to Africa. My daughter went to DC this summer with her schools safety patrol. She wasn’t able to tour the white house. Obummer got rid of white house tours. No money for that after his trip to Africa. PS My daughter’s trip was not payed for by tax payers. She worked very hard at fundraisers

I did have hope in 2008 that we elected Teddy Roosevelt but I was sadly mistaken. I can at least admit when I was wrong… But when has a conservative ever admitted they were wrong huh Force?
Conservatives under the banner of the Reagan Revolution or as I like to call it the new corporatism have screwed this country. But conservative sheeple rename airports, roads after this corporatist. Obama is just another in a line of corporatists since Reagan and our Gov is now up for sale to the highest bidder.

        • Vis Fac

You (and others) have seen it here in this forum when I am wrong I apologize and admit it. However I have been around the block more than once and most often am right. As I am anything BUT an utter failure (you should keep up with what I post and you would know) I can afford to be critical.

You may think what you will regarding Reaganomics but I can attest that it was the right program at the right time. If you had follow ed any of my previous postings you would know that I was able to start a very successful engineering business that employed close to 100 people.

So EWE like the other sheeple can sit in your ivory tower and pass judgment on me and others like me because EWE didn’t get your piece of the pie.

The reason EWE didn’t get your pie is because you wanted it served on a silver platter and REFUSED to do what was necessary to attain it.

Reagan was short term political gain (for himself) and long term loss. (2008 collapse)
Those who had money, made more… those who didn’t worked more and got credit cards to hang themselves with. I am doing well myself, I am in 6 figures working in technology in this economy… so I guess that means Obama is an economic genius right? And guess what? I work hard and earn every cent I make. I guess that fact skews your opinion of liberals now doesn’t it?
Your analogy is cute but I reject its premise… I think we can do better than these two corrupt political parties and I don’t need a gun to affect that change.. just need an idea. That is how MLK got civil rights across to the majority… It wasn’t bands of African Americans with guns threatening to kill if they didn’t get what they wanted.

I have this to say to sheeple like EWE. Facts to a liberal are those that are pulled out of thin air to swathe their ineptness on all things rational. Liberal one dimensional idiot-ology dictates they make things up as they go so they can blame others for their failures. Nothing is ever ODUMBO’s or the DUMBOCRITES fault right? So whenever EWE/they have trouble defending and/or nothing to substantiate their positions they simply fall back on the Federal Board for Blaming Bush Reagan or (chosen conservatives name).. Then all their/your liberal inadequacies are soon to be forgotten

OK, Recon… what is the cause of the 2008 economic collapse?
Remember, Obama was not president, your hero Bush 2 was and Congress was under democratic control but nothing could get passed without the GOP/Conservative ok because of the filibuster.
            Out with your “facts” Recon….
What do you have? Nothing is ever a Conservamoron’s fault or the Republicon’s fault. When you have nothing to substantiate your position, you simply fall back on the “blame Obama” Mantra.
But then the conservative one-dimentional idiot-ology dictates you make things up, try and rewrite history or if a conservative really screws the pooch… you call them a neo-con. Thus the conservamoron ideology is still pure and perfect.

          • Vis Fac

Here’s a little news flash for EWE. I don’t suppose you remember Bubba Bill Clinton’s mandate to force mortgage companies to make available loans to people who could not afford them do EWE? I thought not.

Forget the fact these people who would otherwise not qualify for an auto loan be given federally guaranteed loans let me repeat that FEDERALLY GUARANTEED LOANS, that’s right taxpayer money, to pay for default loans to “CORPORATE CRONY BANKSTERS” .

Now given the fact these lending institutions needed a hedge to offer these “federally guaranteed loans” “creative financing” emerged allowing for not only 100% financing but financing exceeding 110% or more with no down payment.

Enter the creative financing mode where interest rates started low as did real estate values and in time increased as did inflated real estate values with the CPI. Soon people were able to (and did) purchase a more expensive house than they could ever dream of everything was rosy.

THEN All of a sudden these loans became un-affordable because interest rates were increasing faster than their paycheck and they couldn’t afford their overinflated mortgages guaranteed by BUBBA BILL.

Guess what? Like todays liberal creative finance tactics borrow and spend more than you make because the taxpayer is on the hook for your foolishness; people defaulted the government used taxpayers money to bail out banks that made these loans and like a row of dominoes cascading to final collapse of our economy, we wound up in deep SHEET.

This didn’t happen over night it took almost decade to come full circle by then Clinton was a not so fond memory. GHW Bush rode the momentum built by Regan, Clinton rode Bush’s momentum which started a down hill momentum for GW Bush who wound up eating and taking blame for Clinton’s ineptness which culminated in the attack on the World Trade Center in 2001

By this time the economic collapse reached terminal velocity and we all know what ensued. I can just hear you now “that’s not true” but the proof is in the pudding it has been well documented but hidden by EWE liberals

I was there and aware apparently EWE were asleep. I considered investing in real estate but the hyper inflated real estate value dictated otherwise We are living Clinton’s legacy I hate to think about ODUMBO’S legacy

            No Conservatron,
I have heard of that from Clinton that is why both Reagan and Clinton (and their congresses) deserve alot of the blame. Maybe you need to take those red colored glasses off and read my posts. I am a proud liberal… Never liked Clinton and never voted for that Corporatist.
Once again, nothing is ever a conservative’s fault… not Reagan deregulating the banks and credit so the big banks have more power… So now Clinton is responsible for 9/11… Not Bush who ignored direct warnings of the attack or the GOP Congress who accused Clinton of “wagging the dog” when he went after Osama Bin “Who”? in 1998-1999.
            Good conservative sheeple… now sit….

          • Vis Fac

I have no trouble reading and comprehending any of your posts that are all alike. EWE being one of many sheeple who ascribe to liberal one dimensional idiot-ology which prohibits EWE from being objective and rational. EWE are only aware of what your masters wish EWE to know.

Bush was in office for what eight months? How is 9/11 his fault? (typical liberal denial and buck passing) For the first six months he was learning the white house routine and setting briefing schedules. So that dog don’t hunt!

FYI Clinton NEVER went after Bin Laden who are EWE trying to kid? Clinton had FOUR chances to rid the world of that vermin and choked each time. The best that impotent moron could/would do is lob a couple of cruise missiles in his general direction. Instead of ridding him he needed to consult the AG for legality issues.

EWE place blame everyone except who blame should be affixed. EWE are mad at your situation and how poor EWE are EWE didn’t take advantage of opportunities that came your way and EWE are frustrated and blame others for YOUR short comings. That is PATHETIC

Once again, no accountability on the part of the conservative sheeple.

I see you being the consummate liberal/Sheeple need to copy others to make a point. You provide nothing original but freely cite other liberal dogma to support your hatred and abase others. Typical liberal one dimensional idiot-ology

How could anyone be as blind and irrational as you is a mystery, and anyone giving you an iota of credence is just as pathetic as you. THIS (people/Sheeple like EWE is why our country is going down in flames.

One must do something to counter your conservative dogma and ability to get out of any responsibility or accountability for your actions.
But thats what you conservatives do, repeat BS and lies over and over again hoping that the dim bulbs who follow you will drink the kool-aid.
Trouble is, a lie is still a lie… I will take Richard Clarke’s word over yours since he served from Reagan til Bush and knows a little bit more that you do when it comes to who did what and didn’t do into the lead up til 9/11.
No go do back to your conservative masters so they can give you your opinion.

          • Vis Fac

Since when has liberal tenet become conservative dogma? Since when has ANY liberal assumed responsibility. Typical liberal tenet is to turn and twist things around to suit their agenda you have been reading too many comic books pal.

So whenever they have trouble defending and/or nothing to substantiate their positions they simply fall back on the Federal Board for Blaming Bush.. Then all their liberal inadequacies are soon to be forgotten.

FYI God is my master I serve no one else unlike you who serves Satan ODUMBO and all the other clowns in the DEMON HYPOCRITIC party. It’s time for you to stop being a liberal lackey and be a man for a change

No dummy, it’s not better than what we had. You have no idea what you are talking about. You may learn along with the rest of the sheep when it is too far down the road to turn back, but I doubt it. Most of the useful idiots of the left will take whatever is coming and relish that the entire country has been brought down to their level.

For the record, conservative solutions are out there, and they are appropriate and would improve the system. But there is no chance in this media and political environment that any ideas will see the light of day. Moreover, the problem is that morons like yourself are incapable of understanding these solutions even when you are made aware of them. I am in the business of financing healthcare and I know what I am talking about. You have no clue whatsoever.

      • Dave

        Speedle,
So you are fine with being rejected for insurance because of a pre-existing condition?
Or insurance firms having a free hand to rape you?
I have a very strong clue moron… I have a family and HC is something I follow very closely. I know what both parties have done and have no done.
NOBODY thinks ACA is perfect. I know that in order for competition to work for non-emergency HC services, the end user must be the patient, not the company-insurance partnership.
You have an idea genius? Then out with it dummy.

        • speedle24

Dave, “your” personal healthcare needs are not what a national healthcare solution is based upon. That should be managed by you and your family to best suit your needs. This debate is about how to put something into place that can not only endure over time but create an environment that will help foster advancements in healthcare while allowing for the most efficient delivery system in the present.

The ACA does absolutely none of this. It caters to all those who think healthcare should be “free” and who take little or no responsibility for their own healthcare or its costs. It is simply a guaranteed economic failure and a certain gateway to government paid single payer healthcare. The people who fostered this mess know this very well. It is the useful idiots that support it because of the “bait” of “no pre-existing conditions” and “guaranteed coverage” that don’t understand its purpose.

So it is not a matter of “nobody thinks the ACA is perfect”, implying that nothing is economically perfect and we should accept its good points. The fact is it is a “perfect” example of a guaranteed failure.

Dave, I could take up 1000 lines on this blog and explain in detail what would work and solve most of the problems associated with the healthcare debate. You would not have to pass it before understanding what is in it either. I will say this much, and you seem to have some understanding of its direction with your comment about the end user. What you left out is it is important for the “end user” to also be the “payer”. Until you and others understand that this whole mess is not an “insurance” problem. Rather it is a “healthcare management” problem. It is like trying to cure a renal failure with a heart transplant. The diagnosis is wrong and therefore the Rx is wrong.

I am in the healthcare financing business and If it were about me I would want to sell as much insurance as possible, but that would be self serving. Proper healthcare management requires insurance only for very large (unexpected) medical expenses, not typical healthcare expenses. You can design any number of solutions if you start with this correct premise.

Insofar as “pre-existing” conditions, there are methods to take care of that problem as well without creating massive “moral hazard” (which is exactly what the ACA does ON PURPOSE). Think through it Dave. If you are open minded and not ideological, you will get it.

          • Dave

            Here is what I get…
There is no competition in emergency HC. So the traditional competition model gets thrown out the window in this instance.
For non-Emergency HC, The patient needs to be the end user. In the world we live in, right now, The company is the end user so there is no downward pressure on price and upward pressure on care. Insurance companies put an unneeded layer of cost to the services, as do the big drug companies who’s research is largely subsidized by the Gov charging insane amounts for their drugs. Then you have redundant and needless testing doctors and hospitals perform to pad their own profits. With so much money there in HC, last but not least is the lawyers who see a money making opportunity in litigation. All this coupled with an aging population (once you get over 65, your HC costs jump from 7K a year to over 20K a year) and that means more HC spending pressure in the marketplace and not enough young people entering the workplace of offset that pressure on Medicare.
HC is not so simple and what we should be doing more copying what more successful countries are doing.
The American system is great… as long as you have great sums of money. Most people don’t. I am not too happy that I have to pay $4000 out of my pocket a few years ago because a bean counter at an insurance company feels that my daughter’s acid reflux meds is not elligile for coverage.
The current system is a joke, I am happy to listen if anyone has a better system. So far, the GOP has not stepped up to the plate for anything other than maintaining the status quo.

          • speedle24

There is more to the ER problem than lack of competition. In any case it you are on the right track regarding what you term “non-emergency HC” I am going to take the leap that you refer to “payer” as “end user”. This is not a fine academic point. It is critical.

I don’t particularly agree with what you say about the drug companies, their relationship with government funding and how they charge. But there is legitimate debate here, and probably a legitimate pony is this pile of manure if we dig into it.

There is most certainly redundant and needless testing done, and this is indirectly caused by all governments that let the trial bar run wild. There are some doctors who seek to “pad their profits” with unnecessary testing, but that can be easily addressed through re-establishing the doctor/patient – service/payer relationship. This type of abuse would not be going on if “other people’s money” were not the profit target. Of course this is the great failing of Medicare (which should be an object lesson for what we are debating now).

You say the current system is a joke. Actually I agree with you. but the ACA is no joke. It is a CALAMITY that we have to avoid. The current system has been on a downward spiral since after WWII when unions forced employers into paying for health insurance coverage. This led to ever expanding “third party involvement” in the individual health care management process. As I continue to say to anyone that will listen, we do not presently have a “free market” healthcare system. We have a sort of free market insurance system which is not the same thing.

The experience you had with your daughter’s acid reflux is an Obamacare “lite” sampling. Every discredited “managed care” element of the past 40 years has been incorporated into the ACA. There is nothing new being done in this law that isn’t already being done (without the force of the law and guns) in the current system. I am telling you without reservation this law is a catastrophic mistake for those who actually have an interest in improving our system.

You are wrong about the GOP wanting to maintain the status quo (although there certainly are RINOs who (like the democrats) answer to their rich benefactors that have their own axes to grind). One of the best plans to never see the light of day (thanks to Harry Reid) is the Tom Coburn plan. If you are really interested you can check it out for yourself.

        • Ron r

Dave, you will never talk them out of that conservative bubble. Reagan said Medicare would lead to the colapae of America. Now ask a senior citizen republican or not if they want someone fooling with it? Once the ACA kicks in and the benifit a if it are realized it will be impossible to repeal, and that’s what’s scares the right.

No I don’t but Dr Ben Carson does. Look it up

Hey Dave, I’m with you man. Watching all of these union leaders whine and cry about Obamacare now is just pathetic. Who do these guys think they are anyway? After all, this is what they voted for, so stop the crying. Even NBC, of all networks, had the dang nerve to do a story tonight on how all these low-information voters at places like Subway are having their hours cut to 29 or less because of Obamacare. Hey, too frick’in bad, right man! Screw them…..Obamacare, read it and weep suckers! We need to silence NBC for speaking bad of Obamacare. What a bunch of racist pigs at NBC. Hopefully, da Justice Brothers, Jesse and Al will march arm in arm in front of NBC, and show dem who day is. I’m wit you brudder.

      • Dave

        Dim Bulb Don,
You really think that it was the ACA that caused the reduction of hours at Subway?
        Wait, of course you do…
ACA is not perfect and I don’t like it as an end point but if it gets movement towards to better system…I am all for the process to get to a better system.

“So, let me get this straight, We are going to be gifted with a health care plan we are forced to purchase, and fined if we don’t, which purportedly covers at least ten million more people without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents who have recently demonstrated their professional integrity, written by a committee whose chairman says he does not understand it, passed by a congress that did not read it but exempted themselves from it, signed by a president that smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief that did not pay his taxes, for which we will be taxed for four years without any benefit, by a government that has already bankrupted social security, medicare and the post office, to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obease and financed by a country that is broke. What the hell could possibly go wrong?”
    Donald Trump

  • Timothy Thompson

All this talk about insurance, what a fraud even with insurance you have to find a doctor who will accept it. That’s the dirty secret that everybody seems to be missing, doctors are already getting out of their practice, those that are left will certainly be Indian or some other nationality in the future. We know the Feds are positioning to be able to search out every aspect of our personal lives, while Obama we still have no idea if he is who we think he is, nobody seems to care that he may be an imposter, a ghost. This is really sick!

mandatory auto insurance. supported by so many.

the problem with mandatory auto insurance. not everyone was being included.

now, business has found a way to include everyone.

using the same govt to enforce compliance payments to a private business that they used with auto insurance.

most of you have been avid players and supporters of this game in the past.

it is a little late to complain about how the game is being played.

Personally, only way to “fix” congress, is simply force them to obey the same laws they pass for the rest of us to follow. They must have a personal interest on what they create for us, rather than have this “elite class” vs the rest of the peons attitude they currently display. A good percent of them should be in prison. Forget their recent crap they make us eat, We should be after those who create the crap and send them to the funny farms, jails, whatever!
