Poll: Government Dysfunction, Debt Top Issues

Poll: Government Dysfunction, Debt Top Issues

PRINCETON, N.J. (UPI) — Americans’ concern about the Federal deficit and the government’s dysfunction displaced unemployment as the key concern for the Nation, Gallup said.

For the first time since 2009, unemployment was out of the top two slots on Gallup’s “most important problem list” as concerns about the Federal deficit and Washington’s inability to perform normally rose in January, results of the poll released Monday indicated.

The poll found 20 percent of respondents mentioned the deficit as the top problem, compared with 18 percent listing dissatisfaction with an aspect of government or government leaders and 16 percent citing jobs or unemployment.

The shift in open-ended responses to the “most important problem” question points to a general movement from concerns about the economy and unemployment to greater focus on problems associated more with government, the Princeton, N.J., polling agency said.

The economy and unemployment had ranked as the top two problems each month since December 2009.

Four percent of respondent said guns and gun control was the Nation’s top problem, the same as in December, Gallup said.

Results are based on nationwide telephone interviews with 1,011 people conducted Jan. 7-10. The margin of error is 4 percentage points.

Warrior you sure have that right but, We the People are their suppliers. They use our money to entrap us to their marxist ways. Maybe it is time to have a tax revelution or just a revelution period. They want to control us and enslave us and use our own money to do it and it has to stop or we will be living on the left marxist plantation as their servants.

All of those could be summed up as “the greatest problem is government tyrrany”.

Only 1000 people to tell us how 300 million people feel. They need a bigger poll.

About time…. albeit too late to send some responsible check-writers to DC.

The hopeful romantic in me says maybe the people are waking up to realize a smaller, Constitutionally restrained Government will have a cascading effect and the problems further down the list will sovle themselves…… then the morning joe kicks in and the cynical realist accepts….. never gonna happen.

The more laws we make the more criminals we make. I say we take a close look at what we should be and should not be incarcerated for. The war on drugs has put excessive aggressive behavior in enforcement procedures, and more or less created millions of criminals, that if the war were to cease most would not be criminals. A Lot of them were made example of and are fine outstanding citizens. This is one war that should truly be fought with education not force. Their are a lot of citizens being slapped/kicked around for absolutely no right or reason and merely to put fear and intimidation in them, and this is wrong! Being treated as second class citizens—(no matter what your crime is, if you could really call it that, because in some instances, some laws are pretty petty and the enforcement is really excessively aggressive)– should never come into the picture. Above all if they expect us to behave properly its up to them to set this example. Showing aggression is teaching aggression. The “Occupy Movement” proves that there are millions of people that have been unjustly treated by the system in one way or another that are more than likely justifiable complaints. Governing by force, do as your told or else attitude is dividing the people. Banning assault weapons will turn law abiding citizens into criminals just because they are standing up for the constitution. There are a lot of different people out there with a vast variety of different weapons, large and small. You want to end things like this…EDUCATE and respect more and lets take a step forward and start getting along. We are wasting precious days, lives, fossil fuels and who knows what else quibbling about a lot of stuff that doesn’t really matter. We all no there are laws out there that shouldn’t be and some where the punishments don’t fit the crimes, And we wont talk about the double standard, good ole’ boy systems going on. Committing a bigger unjust in the name of justice is by no means justice.
Part of a judges job is to see that punishments rehabilitate the offender(s) and to satisfy the public and the victim(s) . The judges have gotten lazy, their answer 99% of the time is incarcerate,(they got a crutch and they use it in the name of justice). We all know how well that works. With a little bit of desire any judge could issue a reasonable punishment that would “educate” and “benefit” the offender as well as make “amends” with the “victim” and benefit the “public”, not cost the public. So why don’t the judges get a little creative instead of rubber stamping everything.? Quote in the name of the book of justice the penalty is and should be.blah, blah blah ,, ruining lives daily, in the name of justice. -.. judges you have a brain, come on, don’t you know what your doing isn’t working.
I have been beaten many times in many jails, and none of these jails have a record of me. The U.S. Magistrate would not allow me court documents of any kind. I was stripped of everything i own multiple times as well. The first time I was taken over 100 miles away and dumped on the streets with nothing but my speedos, no shirt no shoes, money, phone…etc 6 pages of personnel belongings. No guns, drugs or anything illegal. One of my worst beatings was while in chains(chain around your waste hand cuffed behind your back and attached to your waste chain which is also chained with your leg irons) in Sacramento county jail, for what you may ask, watching 6 officers beat another inmate to the edge of his life. I couldn’t begin to count the Bataan hits, the fist hits, the kicks, spitting, profanity and the threats. August 31 1985~9 pm at the fingerprint station. over 20 about to be inmates in line watching in fear as this happened, known of whom i knew or ever saw again, but all their names I’m sure are public record and all share this nightmare. I was segregated in a clear cubical holding tank in the fingerprint area. I was face to the concrete floor in a corner begging them to stop. I was held for 10 days in this cell with no bed.

The leadership for this nation is devisive, it is not even close to competent, the Faker in the WH has no credentials to offer because he fears them being seen, he cannot even prove citizenship or tell you his GPA, yet he is in the Oval Office, creating chaos and making his own version of crisis to create a aire of his self import in a position he is not legally capable of holding, His idea of divide and conquer has united the entiltement mentality as a low info emotional group that are feeling threatened by those who understand the cost of what government has become because of this fraud. Now the Faker is trying hard to deny legal gun ownership by weakening if not removing the 2nd amendment, he has tried this by using treason and smuggling illegal arms to drug cartels in Mexico and alleged terrorist groups in Libya. Should he succede the other freedoms described in the Constitution will not be defensible, they will be lost and makind, this country and posterity will struggle for decades before they will reappear…

    • J. Ed, do you have underwear under that dress?

All this talk about Barrys citizenship. Dont you think the Ef Bee Eye has investigated this and confirmed its validity?………..But, what if they have and they couldnt confirm it? What would that be saying? And if they have investigated and confirmed it, why aren’t they publishing the results? And if they aren’t publishing the results, is it because he isn’t a citizen? And if they know he is not a citizen…….who are these people?

It never was about unemployment despite the funny math. Romney offered jobs to people who never wanted to work… I have supported the deadbeats for over 40 years now and they haven’t bothered to improve their lot. Criminal immigrants, the latest threat to the US, are just trying to jump on the bandwagon..
