Poll: Congress Next To Last In Honesty

PRINCETON, N.J., (UPI) –  The U.S. Congress ranks next to last on a list of 22 professions measured by Gallup, topping only car salespeople, results released Monday indicated.

Gallup said only one in 10 Americans rate the honesty and ethical standards of congressional members as very high or high.

At 85 percent, nursing was the profession listed highest for honesty and ethics, Gallup said, followed by pharmacists at 75 percent and physicians at 70 percent.

While neither business executives nor bankers scored high on a relative basis on the honesty and ethics list, their scores were up 3 percentage points from last year, the Princeton, N.J., polling agency said.

Other professions with high honesty ratings include police officers, college teachers and the clergy, Gallup said. Less than half of Americans said they are positive about the honesty of journalists, lawyers, insurance salespeople, HMO managers, stockbrokers, car salespeople and advertising practitioners.

Results are based on nationwide telephone interviews with 1,015 adults last Monday through Thursday. The margin of error is 4 percentage points.

Lets see Congress writes the rules that they don’t have to follow but nursing homes, doctors, nurses and so on have to live by their guidelines or face severe penalties.Who writes the rules for Congress or are there any standards for them anymore. Here in Pa. a nurses whole career can be destroyed by one DUI and if you get one you are pretty much out of luck even trying to fight it.It is working as far as regulating nursing homes etc. with much effort and sacrifice on their part for the best for their clients,If only we could be more effective on Wall Street and clean up that greedy mess.

As long as government is sponsored by their cronies, the cronies expect a return on their investments. That’s how crony-capitalism works. Goldman Sachs is easily at the top of the list. Goldman has been a veritable revolving door to government for decades.

A CBS News analysis of the revolving door between Goldman and government reveals at least four dozen former employees, lobbyists or advisers at the highest reaches of power both in Washington and around the world.

It’s no secret congress is owned by people who behind the scenes are running America into the ground. They are getting away with murder, theft, and many other crimes.
We are allowing them to shred the Constitution,..and we are not stopping them.
Petitions are not gonna work unless we get out there and be seen in massive numbers and tell our government “No more”

Politicians in general are corrupt. The honest politician is an exception and almost an oxymoron. If a politician said something I knew to be true, I still wouldn’t believe him until I verified it.

The only “honest politician” I am aware of is Ron Paul, I’m certain there maybe a few more, but Ron Paul’s voting record matches his talk, that is indeed rare.
