Playing 20 Questions With The Commander In Chief

Playing 20 Questions With The Commander In Chief
PHOTOS.COM

Anyone who has ever sat through one of President Barack Hussein Obama’s heavy-petting sessions the corporate media call “interviews” or one of his extremely infrequent press conferences knows that wresting a straight answer from Barry is one tall order. As a conservative, I have about the same chance of scoring a sit-down with his Imperial Highness as Media Matters high priest David Brock does of silencing the voices in his head.

But what if I could interrupt one of Obama’s secret skeet-shooting sessions for a little verbal one-on-one? What questions would I pose to the most deliberately opaque President in American history? Since CBS News’ Steve Kroft has already handled the light lifting, I suppose there’s not much point in repeating the same softballs “60 Minutes” substituted for substantive sound bites.

I compiled a list of 20 questions I’d love to hear Obama answer. Of course, given his dim view of media outlets that don’t toe his statist line, I’m aware that I’m more likely to play Q&A with Obama’s auditory hallucinations and/or his little friend who totes the unregistered, semi-automatic handgun with a capacity of well more than seven rounds. But, hey: If liberals can dream of a day without liberty, then I can certainly dream of a day with a forthright President.

Thus, I would pose these interrogatives to The One, and I fully intend to do so (right about the same time Secretary of State — and Obama heir apparent — Hillary Clinton learns how to make those crocodile tears believable):

      1. Since your plan to reduce so-called “gun violence” centers on the elimination of so-called “assault weapons” instead of something that hasn’t already been proven ineffective in places like Chicago; Washington, D.C.; and Newtown, Conn., will you consider yourself responsible when so-called “gun crime” rises after you disarm the people? Or will you just stick with blaming President George W. Bush, conservatives and/or law-abiding citizens for your own ineffectiveness?
      2.

      3. I suppose you can’t really deport Piers Morgan just for being an imperious British twinkie, but can’t you sign an executive order forcing him to do his show from the Camp Lejeune rifle range? I would DVR the heck out of that show.
      4.

      5. How do members of your Secret Service detail manage to stifle their laughter when (if) you shoot skeet at Camp David?
      6.

      7. How do you Democrats reconcile being pro-abortion but anti-capital punishment? Is it just that the unborn are easier targets, or are you concerned about the death penalty’s detrimental effect on the ability of ACORN (or whatever the hell they’re calling themselves these days) to “get out the vote”?
      8.

      9. Is Eric Holder’s Spanish good enough to order lunch in Mexico, or do his narcoterrorist clients speak English?
      10.

      11. Did you let the “Benghazi Four” die because you really didn’t give a crap, or did you think you were watching “Blackhawk Down” on Air Force One’s big screen before grubbing for cash in Las Vegas?
      12.

      13. Does Hillary Clinton make little stabby gestures every time your back is turned?
      14.

      15. Since you’ve broken your promise to close Gitmo, have you considered putting in a golf course? I hear it’s lovely this time of year, and you could hit the links with some of your friends?
      16.

      17. When the Democrat Channel (aka MSNBC) minions come for a visit, how do you get those unsightly Rachel Maddow stains out of the rug in the Oval Office? Furthermore, does Al Sharpton have to fight the urge to pick up Maddow and hurl her at every teenage intern who walks by?
      18.

      19. What did fake Congressional witness Sandra Fluke have to do in exchange for the Democrats making her famous (for a little while, anyway)? Did it involve the sort of behavior Bill Clinton might enjoy? Did she charge the whole thing to Georgetown University?
      20.

      21. Is it possible to dial some of those 1-900 numbers from an Obamaphone?
      22.

      23. How come I’ve never seen your wife and Oprah Winfrey in the same room? Hang on; they’ve been in the same room. Which one was which?
      24.

      25. As or at which is Joe Biden most effective:
        a.Throw rug
        b.Doorstop
        c.Paperweight
d.Guessing the number of jelly beans in the jar on your desk
      26.

      27. Do you actually enjoy hanging out with union thugs like Richard Trumka, or is that just part of the job? (Cough twice if you’re afraid to answer because they’re in the room.)
      28.

      29. According to your party and its corporate media, high gas prices were the fault of President George W. Bush during his term, but you are powerless to affect them. Does it hurt your feelings to hear your own minions say you’re impotent by comparison?
      30.

      31. Where is the “Choom gang” now, and can you hook a brother up?
      32.

      33. Have you told Malia and Sasha about the crippling national debt with which you’re saddling their generation, or will they be running for office as well?
      34.

      35. Since you lied about not hiking taxes on the middle class, can we at least get a better spot in line for the Obamacare death panels?
      36.

      37. If the Democrats successfully pass Representative Jose Serrano’s bill to eliminate the 22nd Amendment, will you personally visit the Texas Legislature to convince lawmakers to ratify it, or will you send Serrano? (If I were you, I’d send Serrano.) Also, will you still be known as “President Obama” or will you go with something cooler, like “His Most Royal and Serene Highness, Lord of All He Surveys and Ruler of the Known Universe, the Sultan Barack I?”
      38.

      39. Before he goes to bed at night, does the boogeyman check under his bed for Rahm Emanuel?
      40.

I’m willing to acknowledge that not all of these questions are worthy of a dignified interview with the commander in chief, but neither is the current commander in chief. At the very least, I’d obviously hit the real issues a great deal harder than Kroft. Fortunately for me, I work for Personal Liberty Digest™, not some bush-league liberal hack farm like “60 Minutes.”

Flying on Air Force One, Obama looked at Oprah chuckled and said, “You know, I could throw a $1,000 bill out the window right now and make somebody very happy.”

Oprah shrugged her shoulders an replied, “I could throw 10 $100 bills out of the window nad make ten people very happy.”

Michelle added, “That being the case, I could throw one hundred $10 bills out the window and make hundred people happy.”

Hearing their exchange, the pilot rolled his eyes and said to his co-pilot, “Such big-shots back there. I could throw all three of them out of the window and make 256 million people very happy.

Ha, ha, ha, ha! Good one Freedom Fighter. But alas! don’t expect the 5th columners to think it is funny. Here is something from Sarah Palin about not yet begun to fight.

I guess someone remembers what John Paul Jones said, “I have not yet begun to fight.” But alas! We face simpletons in the 5th column, some on this site. Keep up the good fight fellow patriots! FOR GOD AND COUNTRY! 하나님하고 나라를 위해서!

First, she left Fox News and was not fired. Second, since you did not take the time to read the article, which would require you to learn, you have no idea what she is talking about. You and yours are disgraces to this country. Why don’t you go back to where you came from? Korea, isn’t it? North Korea? Here is something showing NBC got caught lying on national TV to soil the reputations of patriots and shine up Obama bin Laden’s image.

I second that motion. I have one question that he did not mention, when are you going to turn in your letter of resignation and step down? Here is something about how Obama bin Laden talks about going after people that are irresponsible, but does this include he and Michelle bin Laden?

Ah yes! The personal attack. Classic 5th column strategy. If all you are going to do is give less intelligent posts, like this, then just go somewhere else. I guess that it is because you are jealous of my long marriage, kids, honor, and career that God has given me. Here is something that shows how the 5th column and infant murderers are the real ones pushing for the unconstitutional act of gun control and confiscation.

  • Jeremy Leochner

1: Actually his plan to reduce gun violence does not center on an assault weapons ban which would have to be passed by congress anyway. It actually centers on strengthened back ground checks, more resources for schools to deal with crisis situations and improving our nations mental health system. And even a ban on scary looking military style weapons is not going to disarm the people. They will still have hand guns to protect themselves from thugs on the street. Also he does not blame Bush for everything. He just doesn’t keep silent when he is accused on doing things that Bush did and of causing things that actually started under Bush.

2: If President Obama issued an executive order limiting Piers Morgans right to free speech he would be acting just like the dictator his most ardent critics constantly accuse him of being.

3: Admittedly the phrase Skeet Shooting does not humorous. Though it sounds just like the humor one might get from looking in a book about birds and seeing the word titmouse.

4: It is hypocritical to be pro choice and anti death penalty. Though its also hypocritical to be pro life and pro death penalty. And what does Acorn have to do with anything. That conspiracy theory was debunked a while ago:

    http://www.cbsnews.com/2100-215_162-6334568.html

    http://www.ncpolicywatch.com/2009/09/26/debunking-the-conspiracy-theorists/

    http://fundamental-truths.blogspot.com/2008/10/acorn-conspiracy-theory.html

5: Eric Holder does have some explaining to do.

6: No Obama let the “Benghazi Four” by not doing the best job on security for our embassies. He does deserve criticism for this I admit.

7: I think Hilary is just planning for her run in 2016.

8: He has broken his promise to close Gitmo. You got him there Mr. Crystal

9: MSNBC is Democratic and Liberal just as Fox News is Republican and Conservative. On that we can agree.

10: Sandra Fluke was not a fake witness. Just because you disagree with someone does not make their entire testimony a lie.

    11: I don’t think so. I hear a busy signal.

12: Not exactly sure what it means when you say Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey look very similar. I think both look very lovely so I agree if that is what you are also saying.

13: I think of all those Joe Biden is most effective at d.Guessing the number of jelly beans in the jar on your desk

14: I am pretty sure Obama has hung around with a CEO or two: http://www.businessinsider.com/obama-to-meet-with-ceos-from-goldman-deloitte-on-wednesday-2012-11

15: The only time I have been able to hear talk of the President and gas prices is when Fox News blames the high prices on Obama despite the fact that according to an article by the U.S Energy Information Administration “The cost of crude oil as a share of the retail gasoline price varies over time and among regions of the country. Crude oil prices are determined by both supply and demand factors. On the demand side of the equation, world economic growth is the biggest factor. One of the major factors on the supply side is the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), which can sometimes exert significant influence on prices by setting an upper production limit on its members, which produced about 43% of the world’s crude oil in 2011.” and that in terms of taxes added to the price of gas the ones imposed by the federal government are actually lower than the average state tax which the President cannot control.

    http://www.eia.gov/energyexplained/index.cfm?page=gasoline_factors_affecting_prices

16: I do not think the President still hangs out with his pot smoking high school pals. Or if he does they probably do not smoke pot anymore.

17: Obama is not solely responsible for the debt being imposed on future generations. And he is and has been trying to deal with it. But no one likes raising taxes or reducing spending so nothing gets done.

18: There were never any death panels. That conspiracy theory was also long ago debunked:
    http://www.dailyfinance.com/photos/obamacare-myths/#photo-1&photoID-5141905

    http://mediamatters.org/research/2009/08/15/report-the-media-have-debunked-the-death-panels/153367

    http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2009/aug/10/palin-death-panel-remark-sets-truth-o-meter-fire/

19: No one in their right mind is going to vote for a bill to abolish the Twenty Second amendment.

20: Actually I think he does. Rahm Emanuel is really scary.

President Obama is the elected commander in chief. He deserves the base level of respect and that includes a dignified interview. If you have a chance to meet with the President of the United States I believe it is best to have serious policy discussions as opposed to making petty complaints and giving questions that you yourself admit are not “worthy of a dignified interview with the commander in chief”.

    • johno

I tend to agree. I know this piece was aimed at humor but there are legitimate questions that should be asked.

      • OneGuess

So, enlighten us all. What are the legitimate questions that should be asked?

      • JeffH

        OneGuess,
        1. Mr. President, why do you resent the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, the Constitution and the rule of law?
        2. Mr. President, why do you lie to the people?
        3. Mr. President, why have you thrown your support behind the Muslim Brotherhood in the middle east and here at home?
        4. Mr. President, why do you hate Americanism, apple pie and our Constitutional Republic?
        5. Last question Mr. President. Why do you believe that a democracy is fundamentally superior to the American form of government, a Republic, that our founders created?
        http://www.whatwouldthefoundersthink.com/why-the-founders-gave-us-a-republic

      • Nadzieja Batki

Even if O answered the questions, would you be satisfied in your heart that O would be telling the truth? Not likely.

    • Scott

You know what they say about apinions!

As for gas prices, he could do something to keep them much lower, it is all about payoffs from oil companies. As proof I will say this, milk has been forced, by the government, to stay a low prices even though it is putting over half of the dairy farms out of business. Most dairy farms in calif have sold their cows for meat and closed. The dairies staying open are all loosing money but are trying to hang on. If they were richer they could make payoffs to our elected officials and the price of milk would be that of gas or higher since it cost much more to make a gallon of milk compared to gas.

Also, since it seems you love obama, I guess you dont mind him sending hundreds of millions to muslim countries to rebuild mosque. That along with many other things proves he is a muslim not a Christian, per the Bible he has nothing Christian about him, so go ahead and support the muslim trying to destory the Christian founded America.

      • Jeremy Leochner

With all due respect Scott our fuel economy should not be “all about payoffs from oil companies.” That is corruption and leads to lax regulations that lead to the gulf oil spill. As for our farms part of the desire to keep prices down is because the average consumer has less spending money right now. But I do not want honest Americans to lose their jobs. I do not think simply being richer and paying off government improves the economy.

Scott I do not love Obama. I support him and feel he deserves fair and honest criticism. One of these is that he not be accused of being Muslim which he is not. And since when has it been bad for our soldiers to help rebuild houses of worship. My guess is that is a way to gain support of the people so that we do not have to stay there much longer. And our country was not founded Christian. It was founded as a Republic with freedom of religion. A Republic is far greater than a Christian nation which is inherently exclusive and distinct as opposed to inclusive and open.

nothing legit in your answers……trying to sound smart-didn’t work.

1 Why does Jeremy Leochner find it necessary to boot-lick through every disparaging comment concerning the behavior King Obama?

      2 – 19 ….

20 Why does Jeremy Leochner find it necessary to boot-lick through every disparaging comment concerning the behavior King Obama?

      • Jeremy Leochner

Charlie how exactly are my comments boot licking? Unless you consider comments like

“6: No Obama let the “Benghazi Four” by not doing the best job on security for our embassies. He does deserve criticism for this I admit.”

        and

“8: He has broken his promise to close Gitmo. You got him there Mr. Crystal”

        to be boot licking.

    • redhawk

Well, if Mr. Obamas careful thought plans for reducing gun violence don’t center on Assault style (aka scarylooking guns) why are trhe sales of them ticking up faster the the factories can produce them? If mental health care is the benevolent ones REAL concern, why not start rebuilding the institutional healthcare system the feds defunded years ago & turned thousands of mentally ill patientd loose on the population? Just because he SAYS his main ojjectives are to center on background checks, improving school security & improving national mental healthcare doesn’t mean that’s what he’s going to REALLY do. It WILL mean that however sterling clean your background is decent and law abiding folks will NOT be able to buy guns with a compleyely arbitrary designation as an “assult gun”. That label can be pretty much removed by changing out certain components on a gun in question and then putting them back together. The criminal elements can do this on a production basis. This “President” is so opaqie I don’t beleive for a minute he’s not after guns in genaral. Schools are by far the safest place for kids to be about any way you want to measure it. It takes a real professional team to blow these tragedies out of proportion and capitalize on someone elses misery. We’re put so many safety feature of cars we almost can’t afftrd to buy them anymore but death by motor vehicles far out weight gun deaths. NOBODY is calling for a ban on cars or even any new restrictions.Hell, death my Medical Misadventures are more that 3 times more likely that death by a gun (http://www.rightdiagnosis.com/m/medical_misadventure/death-types.htm ) & if you take out suicide deaths that number goers to nearly 10 times. Mr. Obama is attacking the wrong problems!
Eric Holder has more than some explaining to do because his situation goes all the way to the top. The president himself has covered up much of his wrong doing and you can bet there is a whole entourage of folks involved in that mess. Invoking executive priviledge was wrong!
If Hillary gets elected in 2016 this country HAS lost any semblence of the USA. POWER, POWER & more POWER is what she is about. Read through the book, Derelicton of Duty, by Robert Patterson and that will give you some insight into what we’re dealing with there.
Mr. Obama deserves way more than criticism for the Bengazi incident. I’d settle for an inditement so that whole sequence of events could be opened for transparent public scruteny. Neither he nor Hillary would look so high and mighty then.
About as many will vote to abolish (or at least suspend) the twenty second Ammendment as voted for the obvuscator-in-chief. I put nothing past those who would ignore the Constitution when it’s inconvenient for them and issue executive orders in stead.

No doubt, however it happened, Mr. Obama is in the White House.BUT, his policies are mostly reprehensible, he seeks to make criminals out of law abiding citizens, spends so recklesssly it should be a criminal offence, has created tremendous unease throughout the nation, refuses to hold the FED accountable, lets Eric Holder skate through murder, refuses to answer questions about his birth certificate and the list goes on and on. Getting any flavor of what’s next now that he does not have to be held accountable to the American people anymore? It will take years to repair the damage done in recent years and restore some honor to the White House. Bill Clinton and George Bush did enough but this guy makes them look like Sunday school teachers. By the way, he is NOT my presiddent, he has NOT captured the imagination of anyone except those that are benefiting from his position. I work for a living and find myself in the minority these days. I have to go to my job and work well into May just to pay my taxes which DID go up, and I’m not even close to that 1% he SAID he was after. His policies and his words are in opposition to each other and I do not trust him or the circle of people that surround him.

    • Bill

      Let’s summarize Jeremy’s comments:

Blah, Blah, Blah, Guns are bad, you are not smart enough to own one and it is for the children.

Blah, Blah, Blah, I love Obama sooo much

Ad nasium, ad nasium, ad nasium

      • Jeremy Leochner

        Bill

Yes I said guns are bad and people are not smart enough to own one when I advocated people carrying hand guns to protect themselves from thugs.

And I love Obama so much which is why I pointed out he broke his promises and his failures in embassy security allowed 4 Americans to lose their lives.

    • Vigilant

Jeremy, you would do well to read number 15 again and then try to address it instead of muddying the waters with a nonresponsive comment.

        Vigilant

I believe that my comment was fairly responsive. I have never heard Obama’s party or his “corporate media” say gas prices are all Bushes fault. As for the Presidents inability to change gas prices I can’t say I disagree. I feel neither Bush or Obama could do much to counter high gas prices.

Jeremy, Say “I love Big Brother”. Again. Death panels will be a reality. See all the cost cutting they are doing now? What do you think will happen several years from now when the Central Planning Committee needs to pretend they are balancing the budget? They are already trying to control doctor’s procedures and prices. The Delta Dental scandal in the Soviet of Washington is a classic example.

Oh Jeremy, I see that you use the tactic of agreeing to the obvious in an effort to gain credibility for pushing your Statist viewpoints. However, you botched a couple of obvious changes at “agreeing with the obvious”:

      1) I am not a huge “pro life” advocate (call me neutral), but you really stepped in a obvious hole when you tried to compare those who believe in the death penalty (and are pro life) vs. those that are pro choice and don’t believe in the death penalty. Do you really think there is validity in comparing the unborn with a felon convicted of a crime worthy of the death penalty? Very weak Jeremy.

      2) “Obama is not solely responsible for the debt”? Are you sure you are not one of Obama’s choom buddies? Have you not been keeping up with the wire reports and what Obama has been saying in speeches? He is not in any way concerned about the debt or increased spending on entitlements. I don’t believe even you believe what you said.

      3) “There were never any death panels?” On this one I just think you are having trouble reading between the lines. No, there is nothing in the ACA that describes or defines “death panels”. However if you have any hint at all about how the concept of “managed care” works (I do because I do it for a living), you will be able to follow the bouncing ball and understand what happens when the money starts to run out and (in the case of Obamacare) the bureaucrats have to decide who gets the money (treatment). This means that someone has to decide who …er..(deserves it and who doesn’t). Now anyone who doesn’t understand what this means (you or any other unsuspecting dolt) really needs to rethink the process. On this I do not joke.

      • Jeremy Leochner

        Speedle

First- If there is no validity in comparing the unborn with a felon why did Mr. Crystal make an issue of it. If it is considered hypocritical to be pro choice and anti death penalty I consider it equally hypocritical to be pro life and pro death penalty. And by the way pro choice does not mean pro death. No woman who gets an abortion does so because she wants it for the sake of it. She does it because she feels she has no other choice. Its not quite the same as having a living and breathing person whom you have direct power to decide whether it lives or dies. Rarely does the issue come up where in order to save someones life a convicted felon must be given the death sentence. But there are occasions when in order to save a mothers life an abortion is necessary. If you believe in allowing any abortions what so ever you could be considered some what pro choice.

Second- Obama is not solely responsible for the overall debt. When Bush came to power there was a surplus and thanks to him the wars and the tax cuts which are the largest policy contributors to the deficit were given to Obama to sort out. If Obama did not care why would he keep pushing for increased taxes and reduced spending.

Third- The point is there are no death panels now or ever before. And as for there being some in the future. We already have such things. When insurance companies can decide whether or not someone gets a treatment and rejects them for some petty bureaucratic nonsense I consider it no better than a death panel. But at least government officials can be voted out or recalled. As opposed to insurance company bureaucrats who are accountable only to share holders who care only about profit.

      • speedle

Jeremy, first of all I don’t even want to discuss the pro-life/pro-choice thing because there is no clear logic to rely upon on either side. My point to was that it is not hypocritical for a pro-life person to be for the death penalty for the simple reason the “lives at stake” are not equal (convicted felon vs. innocent fetus).

On the other hand your take on the “death panel” issue is completely naive, and it underscores the typical progressive “blind spot” regarding the bureaucracy. You don’t seem to understand the difference between a privately run HMO (utilizing managed care policy) vs. a government bureaucracy utilizing the same policy. The HMO has to compete with other HMOs and other non HMO health plans. If it denies treatment because of managed care protocols (which has happened numerous times to the ultimate determent of the HMO), it’s competitors will eat it alive, and that’s before the trial bar gets its fangs into the offending HMO.

When the federal government is the “HMO” all those deterrents to bureaucratic tyranny go out the window. Instead, exceptions and preferential treatment go to members of the ruling class and friends who vote for that ruling class. When there is no money in the treasury to pay all the medical expenses what do you think is going to happen? Can you kinda just a little bit get a small chill up your spine when contemplating this? (This is not the same as the tingle that Chris Matthews gets when he has Obama wet dreams). This is the kind of chill that should be smashing into the “fight or flight” section of your central nervous system. If it does not then you are a functional moron. End of story.

    • Chuck S

      4) So you think there’s no difference between murderes and the most innocent of people, unborn babies? If an unborn baby murders somebody, yes give him or her a fair trial and if convicted, abort him or her.

      6) I’d ask why military units that wanted to help Benghazi were told to stand down. After reluctantly killing Bin Laden, was Obama hesitant to kill any more of his extremist Muslim friends? Or did he not want evidence that his support of the Muslim Brotherhood in Libya was a mistake?

      15) Do you believe everything the government says? What happened to “question authority?” The article didn’t say anything about the US government restricting production. Obama and some members of Congress should get a “friend of OPEC” award for restricting US oil production more than OPEC restricts its production. Obama stopped some Gulf drilling and the Keystone XL pipeline. I think he’s also prevented other offshore drilling. He’s issued fewer oil leases than Bush did. He could have pushed to open ANWR Alaska. If we weren’t getting so much oil from private lands that he can’t stop so easily, our prices would be much higher.

The article also mentions some blends of gasoline being more expensive to refine. That probably refers to reformulated gas, which increases the price from I think March or April to about September. That’s a government regulation that should be reevaluated. Ethanol in the gas reduces the gas mileage and probably increases our overall expenses. And causes damage to some cars.

      • Jeremy Leochner

Ben thank you for being kind enough to have commented. I do not consider it insane to suggest that it is hypocritical to believe that an abortion under no circumstances is acceptable or necessary and yet condone convicted felons, wrongly or justly, being killed as them getting what they deserve. Indeed actions matter. But if the sanctity of life is so
important and sacred why is it only honored selectively. And by the way I never said it wasn’t hypocritical to be pro choice and anti death penalty. I was simply pointing out that both being pro choice and anti death penalty and being pro life and pro death penalty involve valuing life while selectively disregarding it. The difference is an abortion can be necessary while a death sentence is always a choice.

        Sam

First- My name is Jeremy not Jeff

Second- I never said respect the people serving in government. I said respect the country for electing him. Respect the Republic that allowed him into office. Respect the office in memory of the great men who held the title. Respect the title. None of these require supporting or obeying or deferring to the President. All they require is a base level of respect . When meeting the President it is usually considered proper to give him honest questions which gain a real response. You can be a critic of the President and yet still show some respect and at the same time get information and perhaps some sort of solution. In my experience shouting that the President is a tyrant or a monster is unsuccessful. Just ask the anti war protestors during Bushs Administration.

Third- You have earned respect and I will show it to you. And with respect I will disagree with you and comment when I feel a comment is warranted.

Forth- I do not support the President using drones. On that criticism is warranted.

Fifth- The golden rule makes no mention of god. A person who follows the golden rule can be a decent and moral human being without believing in god. A man of honor who keeps to his word is a moral man and need not have god. I made a promise of allegiance to the Flag and Republic and I would die before breaking that pledge. I hope I never have to make such a sacrifice. But I hope that should the time come I will have the courage to keep to my promise.

First- Name at least three freedoms you had the day Obama was sworn in that you don’t have now.

Second- How has he disregarded the constitution?

Third- His insistence has been to raise the marginal tax rate on the top 2% of earners back to what it was during the Clinton Administration and there by remove one of the worst policy contributors to the deficit.

Forth- The President does not control grocery and utility and gas prices.

      • Alex Frazier

        Jeremy,

        1) Freedoms

        • The National Defense Authorization Act, signed into law by Barack Obama on December 31, 2011, grants the government the authority to suspend Habeas Corpus and to arrest and indefinitely detain American citizens on suspicion of terrorism without informing them of the charges brought against them, without a speedy trial, without the confrontation of witnesses, and without the advice of counsel.

        • The Patriot Act, originally signed into law by George W. Bush, against the advice of his aids who warned him that it violated the Constitution, was later extended by Barack Obama on May 26, 2011. This bill grants the government the authority to read our emails, tap our phones, search our business records, track our vehicles, follow and surveil us, and spy on us in general.

        • The Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act was signed into law by Barack Obama on March 9, 2011 as an alleged extension of Title 18 U.S.C. § 1752 to protect the home of the Vice President and the White House. However, through this bill, according to the actual text, citizens who knowingly enter restricted buildings or areas, engage in disruptive conduct (i.e. protest) in or near such a restricted area, blocks ingress or egress to or from such a restricted area, or engages in physical violence, are guilty of a federal felony. Such restricted areas include the White House, the Vice President’s residence, any place anyone being protected by the Secret Service is or will be, or areas restricted in conjuction with an event of national significance.

These three, as per your request, undermine our 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th, 8th, and 10th amendment rights.

        2) His Disregard for the Constitution

        • Barack Obama has, and has threatened to continue to, issue executive orders to bypass Congress. Congress is the legislative branch. It is not the President’s job to legislate any more than it is the Supreme Court’s. His previous actions and threats for the future are driven by the impetus that if Congress will not act, then he will act without them. But Congress works on behalf of the people and the States. Our House of Representatives fights for its district constituents so the people’s voices are heard. The Senate fights for its State so the State Legislatures’ voices are heard. If things don’t get resolved, it’s because the people are at odds. The Congress is doing what it’s supposed to do. It is not the President’s job to overstep the will of the people and the State Legislatures and impose his own will on the nation.

        • Bills requiring the raising of revenue (i.e. increased taxation) have to originate in the House of Representatives (Art. I, §7), not from the President’s desk or from paid attorneys drafting bills on the President’s behalf, such as the Affordable Healthcare Act (e.g. Obamacare).

        • Congress has the sole power to declare war (Art. I, §8, ¶11). Barack Obama has entered upon numerous wars without Congressional support or authority. Such has been the case so often that certain members of Congress warned him that they would draft articles of impeachment if he defied them again.

        • In recent speeches and interviews, Barack Obama was very clear that if need be, he would ban assault rifles by executive order, inspiring sherriffs across the country to stand up and make it known that they would not enforce any such law. Members of numerous State Legislatures also began proposing laws making it a crime in their States for Federal Law Enforcement Officers to attempt to enforce such unconstitutional laws.

        The list goes on.

        3) Taxation

        • Understand first that the taxation they are attempting to raise is to fund social programs. That’s just government sponsored theft. Perhaps you can’t see it that way. Lord knows that many can’t see the simplicity of that reality; that to take from one person and give it to another is theft.

        • Understand secondly that the top 2% of earners already pay millions in taxes, regardless of the percentage attached to the dollar amount. They don’t receive anything more from society than we do, but they are expected to give millions more than the rest of us in order to satisfy the envious’ notion of a “fair share.” And now they are being fleeced for even more, as though they are somehow hurting society while that inflated society only functions with all its social programs because of the exorbitant sums already being plundered from these wealthy men and women.

        • Progressive tax schemes are nothing short of punishment for success. If you work, you pay taxes. If you do well, you pay a little more. If you do really well, you are to be despised and impoverished for your success. And make no mistake, that is exactly how people think. That’s how the death tax came into being. Someone once actually proposed a 100% death tax to ensure that everyone started with nothing, thereby guaranteeing that no one in this country would succeed above his fellow man.

        • While many despise the idea of trickle down economics, it happens to be a real phenomenon. When businesses have extra funds, they expand. When they expand, they create jobs. When they create jobs, it expands the tax base. When the tax base increases, taxes can be lowered. When the taxes go down, the businesses expand more, more jobs are created, the tax base increases still more, etc. When you reduce the revenue of the investing class, the reverse is the inevitable result. Less revenue means cut backs. Cut backs mean the downsizing of departments (layoffs). Layoffs mean a contraction of the tax base. A contraction of the tax base means less money in the government coffers. Less money requires a greater imposition. So taxes go up, businesses cut back further, more jobs disappear, the tax base contracts further, the government has less money still. Consequently, it also finds itself with a higher social burden, since so many people are out of work and are in need of aid.

Increased taxes on the wealthy equals economic recession, and eventually depression if it is permitted to continue too long.

        4) Controlling Prices

The President could control grocery, utility, and gas prices through executive orders. It wouldn’t be the first time price fixing has been used.

However, what I’m talking about is the byproduct of his actions rather than the actions themselves. Our current President spends money like it’s no big deal. At our current debt level, adding in the anual deficit for the remainder of his second term, we’ll be approximately $26 trillion in debt by the time Obama leaves office. Congress won’t be able to stop it. There are too many liberals in Congress at present, and they can’t even agree to cut the subsidies to PBS who plainly said they didn’t need them. Remember, Barack Obama criticized Romney in the debate because he wanted to “cut Big Bird.”

What you have to understand is that all that spending has an economic consequence. You can’t borrow and print money at a rate of $1.6 trillion a year without a severe inflationary backlash.

The simplest explanation I can give without typing out an entire lesson on inflation is this: Using real money as an example, it takes more silver to buy something than gold, because silver is more plentiful. It takes more nickel to buy something than silver because nickel is more plentiful. It takes more copper to buy something than nickel because copper is more plentiful.

If you print a bunch of dollars, you decrease their spendable value. The more you print, the less they’re worth. The less they’re worth, the more of them it takes to buy a product. This is inflation. It is the devaluation of currency through an increase in supply. It is not greedy corporations raising their prices. It is business in general raising prices relative to the increase in their cost of production.

So make no mistake, $1.6 trillion a year increase in the money supply is the source of the price hikes. Spaghetti sauce that used to cost me $.58 is now $1.29. Parmesan cheese that was $2.50 is now just shy of $5.00. Gas was under $2.00 a gallon. Now it’s over $3.00, but for a while was pushing $4.00 and $5.00. Milk was $2.30. Now it’s close to $4.00.

With gasoline it’s even worse. Sweet crude is traded on the open market. So a barrel might cost $40 (as an example, not actual). But when we double our money supply by printing a truck load of bills, $40 goes to $80, because the people out there know that the dollar, which has just been doubled in quantity, is now worth half as much.

And Obama’s attack on the coal industry has doubled my electric bill. It takes fossil fuels to run a power station. Oil costs more because of the devaluation of our currency. And his restrictions on the coal industry have made it ridiculously expensive. Nuclear power, which is the cleanest and most plentiful, is shunned by the ignorant public who don’t understand the first thing about it. So all of our energy sources are becoming too burdensome to bear, while Obama tries to force the country towards solar panels and other “green” energy, when the technology isn’t quite there yet.

So, yes, the President does control our grocery, utility, and gas prices. His irresponsible spending is directly affecting them all.

I know you meant well. Take this information and do what you will with it. I hope you are wise enough to learn.

          Intelligence-HOW REFRESHING!!! Thank-you!

      • Jeremy Leochner

        Alex

        To your post on freedom.

1: The National Defense Authorization Act and the Patriot Act do violate your rights. Though it does matter that Obama did not implement the Patriot Act.

2: With all due respect “citizens who knowingly enter restricted buildings or areas, engage in disruptive conduct (i.e. protest) in or near such a restricted area, blocks ingress or egress to or from such a restricted area, or engages in physical violence, are guilty of a federal felony.” The law is not against protesting. And entering restricted areas and engaging in physical violence seem wrong. I do not consider not being allowed to trespass or commit violence to equal lose of freedom.

To your post on the constitution

1: With respect if executive orders are a measure of commitment to the constitution you may want to look at this article: http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2013/01/obama-executive-orders-guns.html

2: Obama care was voted on by congress. And all that Obama has proposed regarding taxation has been made to congress for congress to vote on including his recent “executive orders” regarding gun control.

3: Obama is wrong to engage in undeclared wars. However I will point out so did Clinton and Bush. That does not make it right. However it does mean Obama cannot be derided as solely being responsible for undeclared wars.

4: There was an assault weapons ban on the books for many years. Again Obama is not alone in “disregarding the constitution”. And in the case of the previous ban it eventually was taken away and the constitution survived just fine.

        To your post on taxation

1: Spending money on things you do not like does not make them “government sponsored theft”. Here’s an article you should look at before considering it stealing:
        http://www.addictinginfo.org/2013/01/26/102-things-not-to-do/

2: With respect the top 2% receive numerous deductions and loopholes that we the people do not. And as for them paying more out of some envious notion. They have more to give and get quite a bit from society.

        http://money.cnn.com/2012/09/21/pf/taxes/romney-tax-return/index.html

        http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/08/06/most-profitable-corporations-tax-rate_n_1746817.html

And with respect under Bush we tried lowering rates to help “job creators” create more jobs. That lead to recession. Tax cuts don’t lead to more job creation. They just help the richer save more and become richer at the expense of society:

        http://www.newrepublic.com/blog/plank/111016/rein-the-rich#

        http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-09-13/rich-americans-save-money-from-tax-cuts-instead-of-spending-moody-s-says.html

And with all due respect its hard for me to feel sympathy for the top percent of wage earners when the top 1% controls 33.8% of the countries wealth while the bottom 90% control less than 29%: http://www.businessinsider.com/15-charts-about-wealth-and-inequality-in-america-2010-4?op=1

3: A progressive tax “scheme” is based on the idea that those with more pay more. The only ones demonized are those who act like an increase of 4% in the marginal tax rate is akin to no longer being able to live the lifestyle they are accustomed to. The only ones demonized who act like everyone else is a moocher for taking from the government while never admitting the special tax breaks granted to them due to them being a “job creator”.

4: Taxes increased out of all proportion will not work and I do not support them. I support closing loopholes and raising the marginal rate. The problem with the idea that tax increases equals less growth is again we tried it under Bush and we wound up with a recession anyway. Why hasn’t trickle down worked since it was first implemented by Ronald Reagan. Trickle down does not work.

To your post on controlling prices

1: If the President started issuing executive orders regulating companies he would be denounced as a tyrant and a communist as he has been every time he has so much as suggested a certain industry might need some regulations.

2: Obama wants to cut spending. And as for me as a liberal I want to cut spending. I was okay with PBS losing funding. Problem is that was the only thing Mitt Romney suggested.

3: I understand inflation and like I said I want to reduce spending. I just want to couple it with slight tax increases and I believe the President agrees with me.

4: With respect I do not side with the coal industry for raising prices based on Obama “attacking” them. Blame the coal company. The devaluation of our currency is partly due to the increased spending which itself is strongly due to trying to get us out of the recession that he inherited. I do not know much about Nuclear Energy. If it is as safe as you claim than I will accept it. And as for green technology the reason its not “quite there yet.” is because of the backlash against those who support and the lack of strong support from the powers that be.

The Presidents spending is not forcing these companies to raise prices. The demand for oil and coal is as high as ever. There should be no reason for Presidential spending to force the prices to rise.

I apologize for being rough Alex. I just get worried when I see arguments against the President I feel are unwarranted. I have learned some things from you like Nuclear Energy and I will try to incorporate it into my views.

      • Alex Frazier

        Jeremy,

Brother, let me clarify myself on one particular thing. I criticize Obama because Obama is the man in the chair, not because I hate him, not because he’s black, not because he’s a Democrat. It is the responsibility of every president, as well as lesser elected officials, to fulfill their duty to the Contitution and to the people of the United States. I hated George W. Bush, regardless of my own personal Republican leanings. The man had no respect for the Constitution.

I bring this up because your rebuttal smacks of defensiveness, as though you have to stand behind your position. To me, there is only one position. The people.

So let me try to answer you as briefly as possible. You wrote a lot of stuff, and it would be a huge post if I got in depth on each and every thing.

        1) Obama did not implement the Patriot Act, but Obama renewed it. That puts him rowing the oar right behind George W. They are in the same boat.

        2) Whatever its true purpose, the language of the Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act, as even the ACLU argues, makes it a federal crime to gather and protest any place where government is going to be. It should be noted that “disruptive conduct” and “physical violence” are separate points in the bill, so “disruptive conduct” does not mean violent behavior. It means “disruptive,” as in the case of a protest.

        1) Executive orders aren’t a measurement of anything. Executive orders circumvent the Congress. Congress is the legislative branch. If a law needs to be passed, it is for the Congress to pass it, and for the president to sign it or veto it.

        2) Obamacare is an abomination that forces citizens to pay an anual fee for their citizenship or be put in jail. Neither Congress nor the President ever did or ever will have the authority to force citizens to purchase products. They have overstepped themselves.

What Obama proposed concerning taxation is all that need be said. Obama proposed it. Bills for the raising of revenue have to originate in the House of Representatives. The necessity for this is to make sure that when it comes to taxation, which is a direct burden on the people, the people are being represented first rather than fighting off the onslaught of a socialism regime. If there is something important enough that taxes need to be raised, it should first be presented to the people, and then proposed in the House of Representatives. To do it any other way is a perversion of the system and makes the citizens vulnerable to the whims of a tyranny.

Any executive orders, proposals, or anything else from the President, Feinstein, or anyone else, should not even exist. The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed, and it would be nice if they would remember that.

        3) Yes, it’s wrong for Obama to do it. Clinton didn’t get into too many conflicts. He was actually considered weak in that regard. Bush got Congressional approval for his “war on terror.”

        4) Yes, Clinton first passed the assault weapons ban. It was wrong of him to do it as well. But at least with Clinton, they didn’t know for sure the extent that assault rifles were used in violent crime. However, when the ban expired, the ten-year study revealed that the ban had virtually no effect on gun crime whatsoever. It was therefore not renewed. Now, they are trying to take them away again when they are fully well aware that they are used in less than 1% of all firearm related crimes. Handguns are the real weapon of choice. Any way you slice it, though, they shouldn’t be banning anything. They shouldn’t even be discussing it.

        1) I consider it government sponsored theft when money is taken from one citizen and given to another citizen. It is not theft when it is taken from all citizens and used to provide services that benefit everyone. This is a Constitutionally protected principle. [...] nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation. … Amendment V.

Unless you believe that your money is somehow not your private property, the government can’t take it from you without “just compensation.” In other words, they can tax you, but in return they need to provide roads, or schools, or provide for the common defense. If they take someone’s money so they can give it to someone else, there is no compensation.

It’s just downright unconstitutional. It’s theft, plain and simple.

        2) Here’s the deal on the top 2%. It doesn’t matter how much they make. It doesn’t matter how many loopholes they have. It doesn’t matter if they have more to give. The fact of the matter is, it’s theirs. No one has a right to take it. That they pay taxes at all should be satisfactory to all involved, since no one pays as much as they do. They get a lot from society, but they also pay millions in taxes.

How much did you pay last year?

Under Bush … they were doing everything they could to keep our economy from crashing because our nation was in turmoil after a bunch of Muslims crashed planes into the World Trade Center. I don’t like Bush, but I can be realistic. Things were rough, but we had just been attacked, and we went to war. It’s hardly the scenario for evaluating whether or not the lowered rates created jobs or not. It can be quite reasonably argued that had he not cut the rates, the situation might have been tremendously worse.

I don’t care if you have sympathy for the top wage earners or not. I don’t care what they control. Frankly, I don’t see why it matters what they control. Whatever happened to the philosophy of “mind your own yard”? You aren’t having financial struggles because they make a lot of money. In fact, if you have a job now, it’s because of one of those top wage earners. They opened the business that pays your mortgage and puts food on your table. What is actual gripe? That they make more than you? That they have more than you? That you don’t have what they have? That they haven’t been dragged down to the pit with you?

With wisdom, patience, and hard work, anyone can be a “top earner.” Don’t hate them ’cause you ain’t them.

3-4) Let’s be real here concerning raising marginal rates, and who is hurt, how, or why, etc. The rich pay most of the taxes in this country. The poor collect them in Earned Income Credit, tax breaks of their own, welfare, unemployment benefits, foodstamps, medicaid, etc. This is not to criticize the poor. Their situation is what it is. But the fact is, the rich pay. The poor collect. And all anyone can seem to say is, “the wealthy need to pay their fair share.”

They’ve been paying their fair share. It’s time people opened their eyes and saw it.

        1) Agreed. I would call him a tyrant if he started trying to control businesses. We have enough regulations already.

        2) Obama doesn’t want to cut spending. Wherever you heard that from, it’s a lie, even if it came out of his own mouth. During the fiscal cliff nonsense, the sticking point between the two parties came down to this … The Democrats wouldn’t agree to any spending cuts, the President wanted control to raise the debt ceiling without Congress’ vote or input, and the President wanted higher taxes.

So what the President wants is to cut nothing and keep spending, without the hastle of having to worry about that annoying debt ceiling. And no sooner than the Republicans caved and agreed to tax hikes, the first thing the Democrats did was vote in new crap and spend the money they just voted on. So our deficit will be exactly the same. It’s the same tax and spend strategy the Democrats have been using for decades.

Now, as for Romney, he couldn’t realistically express his entire cutting strategy in a two minute response during a debate. And he didn’t win, so we’ll never see the whole thing. But part of his strategy was to expand business. If more people are working, more people are paying taxes. The difference between the two men is that Obama wanted to take the one man who is pay five dollars and make him pay six. Romney wanted to create new jobs, hire five more workers, cut taxes, and let six men pay one dollar. That’s the theory.

One guy paying five to feed four guys out of work with the tax dollars (Obama), or five guys paying one while feeding themselves, allowing the five dollars in taxes to go to other needful things (Romney). Forget party affiliations. Which is better?

        3) I understand. I disagree with that approach after years of studying economics. But you are entitled to your view.

        4) The whole discussion of inflation is far too in depth. I’m going to have to say on your final points that I stand behind what I said previously. Regulations and currency devaluation, coupled with an increased global demand (I’ll give you that), is the source of the price increases. More than that I can’t discuss without it being incredibly lengthy.

I’ve treated you with courtesy. I hope you understand that I’m discussing this with you, not arguing with you. And I hope, in the spirit of intelligent discussion, that you have gotten more from me than just nuclear energy.

I’ll address the recession in another post.

WELL said Alex, It is not “your guy” or “my guy” it is WE the PEOPLE…. TY for an intelligent post!!

      • Jeremy Leochner

        Alex

First- I understand. I don’t think you are criticizing Obama because he is black or a democrat.

Second- Alex-”I bring this up because your rebuttal smacks of defensiveness, as though you have to stand behind your position”. With respect Alex if I did not stand behind my position I would be a hypocrite. I respect the will of the people and will not deny their right to choose. But just because the majority believes something does not mean I have to. I just want to point out also that I have a natural tendency to come off as defensive. I try not to though. If I do please let me know.

Third- I will concede the point on the Patriot Act.

Forth- If in fact the law makes protesting a crime than I will oppose it. The only dissenting thing I have to say is I see little point in disruptive behavior to make political points. I feel reasoned discussion is the best way.

Fifth- The reason I brought up the issue of executive orders is even the first time Obama issued an executive order people cried tyranny and fascist as though Obama was the first President to issue an executive order. Yet rarely did I hear people cry out against President Bush when he issued executive orders. At least I heard little from the same people who decry it when Obama does it. And I will say Executive Orders are not without some precedent. Here is an interesting article on the subject: http://www.heritage.org/research/reports/2001/02/the-use-and-abuse-of-executive-orders-and-other-presidential-directives

Sixth- I agree it is wrong to force people to buy health insurance. Though I do not think a tax hike is equivalent to being put in jail.

Seventh- Socialism requires that there be no private property. I do not consider what the President supports to be socialism. And while I concede that bills regarding taxes should be introduced in the house I do not consider the people to be vulnerable to the whims of a tyranny when the President must present his proposal to a congress controlled by the opposing party to vote on. Rarely do tyrants ask their opponents what they want or think.

Eighth- Apart from the proposal for an assault weapons ban none of the proposals infringe on the right to keep and bear arms.

Ninth- It is wrong for Obama to do it. And Clinton did get flack for his. I will point out the Korean War and the Gulf War had the same recognition and authorization as the war in Libya. My issue was the same as my one with executive orders where people seemed to act like Obama was the only one who had committed them.

Tenth- I agree that they should not outright ban unspecified “assault weapons”. However I consider a discussion of guns and gun violence in the wake of shootings like Newtown to be necessary and productive.

Eleventh- With respect Alex tax money being taken from one person and given to another is necessary in order to “provide services that benefit everyone”. And I consider things like Medicare and Social Security to be responsibilities not meant to have rewards. Providing services is not about making a profit.

Twelth- You made the statement about the top 2% saying “fact of the matter is, it’s theirs”. The problem is there are things like Medicare and Welfare and Disability that many would argue are equally belonging to the poor. And the reason they pay millions is that they have so much money. To them a few million is not much. Ask Mitt Romney.

Thirteenth- I do not have a job and do not pay taxes other than sales and payroll taxes on the wages I earn from doing stage work. I am an actor and until I get a day job my income tax situation is a little shall we say ambiguous.

Fourteenth- The problem with Bush was we had a surplus and he pushed us into a deficit. I will concede the war in Afghanistan. However the war in Iraqi had nothing to do with the 9/11 attacks and was a waste of time, money and lives. Plus it bears repeating that it and the tax cutes were the worst policy contributors to the deficit.

Fifteenth- I do not hate the top wage earners. What I hate is when top wage earners bemoan how much they suffer and how powerless they are in the face of big government inspite of the ridiculous amount of wealth and influence they have as opposed to the average citizens who have no lobbyists. And its not for nothing that mortgage business’s and banks got us into this economic recession. And as for them creating jobs they are the leaders in out sourcing to third world countries who provide cheaper labor. And just for the record I fully intend to be a high wage earner some day. However when and if I do I will not take it as a que to expect more and pay less.

Sixteenth- The problem is the poor are the ones who need to be cared for. They do pay their fair share. And unlike those making more they cannot afford a spike in their expected contributions. Its not for nothing that the poor are often the job doers. I put more responsibility on the job creaters to pay to care for their workers than I do on workers to pay to care for their employers. They do that by working as best they can.

Seventeenth- I would not say we have enough regulations. We have enough regulations is the same belief we had before the wall street mortgage frauds and the gulf oil spill.

Eighteenth- The President has said numerous times he wants spending cuts. And he has asked the Republicans for compromise. The problem is both sides have dug in their heels and their proposals have become more one sided. I agree the President is as guilty as the Republicans on this.

Nineteenth- I do not think Romneys plan was what you believe. His was one of somehow leaving tax revenues as were and actually increase spending. At least that is according to his and Ryans discussions later in the campaign. And Romney had plenty of chances to clarify his plan and choose not to.

Twentieth- I have studied economics myself. But if you have more experience I will concede I have more to learn.

Twenty first- I gotta wrap this up, my hand is cramping. No offense Alex but did you have to wait till the end of your post to worry about it being lengthy. Just a little humor. I appreciate your respect. I apologise if I come off as defensive or argumentative. I have a natural inclination to be stubborn and to insist a point when I am convinced I am right. I apologise if I have treated you harshly. If there are areas where you feel I have PLEASE let me know. And I promise there are more areas than just Nuclear Energy where you have helped me learn a little.

      • Alex Frazier

        Jeremy,

To be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath … that is wisdom. Standing behind your position (or me standing behind my own) without sincere willingness to change your perspective is in the realm of fools. Although I am always firm in what I believe, it is because I have come to my beliefs via many years of study. So it’s harder to shake my views. They are mostly based in fact. But I am nevertheless always ready to change what I think if someone presents me with solid evidence to the contrary. It really has nothing to do with the majority. And I would consider you a hypocrite not for changing your position, but for claiming intelligence and being unable to change your position.

I wish it were as simple as “reasoned discussion” where our politicians are concerned. Unfortunately, history has shown us that governments only ever respond to one form of persuasion. Violence. This is not to say that I want violence, or that I’m going to be the one to start the violence. But violence is the only thing that’s going to get our government back under control. Seven thousand years of written history don’t lie.

I personally have a problem with executive orders in general. So far as I know, the Constitution never gave the President such power or authority. While I realize that there are occassional instances that are small enough that Congress needn’t be bothered, executive orders in general, in terms of law making, are an abomination and shouldn’t exist. Do try to remember that in 1933, Roosevelt used executive order 6102 to confiscate the nation’s gold and make it unlawful for citizens to possess it, and under Order 6111, he prohibited exporting it, or doing anything that would essentially protect the gold in the hands of private citizens from being siezed. Congress then devalued the dollar through the Gold Reserve Act, resetting the value of gold from $20.67 to $35 per ounce, causing a 40% devaluation of the dollar relative to the gold standard to those who had obeyed the law and turned in their gold to the Treasury for $20.67 an ounce.

Kings have the ability to pass laws without their Parliament. Our President does not. Our President has the power:

        1) To command the Army, Navy (which includes the Air Force and Marines), and the State Militias when called upon.

        2) To grant reprieves and pardons.

        3) To make treaties, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate.

        4) To appoint ambassadors, public ministers and consuls, Supreme Court Judges, and all other officers of the United States not otherwise provided for.

        5) To fill up vacancies during recess of the Senate.

        6) To recommend to the Congress for their consideration such measures as he thinks necessary and expedient relative to the state of the Union.

        7) To convene Congress.

        8) To receive ambassadors and other public ministers.

There’s nothing in here about law making or executive orders. The President has the power to recommend things to Congress for their consideration. However, Congress is the legislative branch.

Now, concerning the health care issue, I do not say that a tax hike is equivalent to being put in jail. You misunderstood me. I said that we have to have the insurance, pay the fine, or be put in jail. All laws are force. If you don’t have the insurance, you pay a fine. If you refuse to pay the fine, they arrest you, or sieze your house and auction it. If you resist, they shoot you. The same chain of events will occur whether it’s a law concerning chewing gum on the sidewalk or bank robbery. The law is force.

I hear you on the socialist bit. Let me ask you this … You say that the people aren’t in danger of tyranny (in terms of taxation). Yet we both agree that Obama has no problem with passing laws by executive order. When he’s willing to supercede Constitutional amendments by executive order, do you honestly believe that our tax laws are inviolate against his delusions of grandeur? Don’t be lulled by his seeming amiability to Congress. Socialism can’t be imposed in one fell swoop. It has to be implemented in stages. That’s what the Communist Manifesto is all about. And amongst the first of the tasks to be accomplished is the redistribution of wealth. There can’t be rich and poor to achieve a totalitarian state. Everyone has to be equally impoverished. And with more than 40% of this nation dependent upon the government in some form or fashion, that goal is being accomplished. All that remains is to get the wealth from the wealthy. And that is accomplished, as per the Manifesto, through class warfare.

Trust me on this … Obama is a socialist. Just because he hasn’t yet seen all his desires made reality doesn’t mean he isn’t seeking to make them so. His actions and policies have followed the path of classic totalitarianism in every respect. That’s why people say he’s a socialist.

The assault weapons ban is all the infringement there needs to be. And it should be obvious to anyone who takes the time to think about it that there is an agenda behind the scenes. Banning assault rifles and high capacity magazines when even liberal studies have shown that they are responsible for less than 1% of gun crimes is not far different than trying to prevent DUIs by banning champagne from bars. While bars may have champagne, the real culprits contributing to public intoxication are beer and liquor. Champagne is only served by special request or on special occassions. Banning it wouldn’t stop a single DUI. By the same token, banning assault rifles won’t stop any of the violent gun crime. The ban makes no sense at all.

Unless you consider that what the goverment really cares about isn’t public safety, but public resistance. They don’t want the people able to fight back. And that is precisely the reason we have the right in the first place.

On your ninth point I agree. As I told you, for me it’s not about “Obama”. It’s about the man sitting in the chair. I despise Johnson for escalating Vietnam. I despise Obama for escalating the middle east.

On your tenth point, do keep in mind that despite the propaganda, there are more death every year in accidental falls than from firearm homicides. I realize that the news media makes it sound like the problem has reached epic proportions. But the reality is that less than .000001% of our 315,000,000 population is touched by gun violence. It just isn’t the epidemic the media has made it out to be. Nor has the media fairing expressed the opposite, showing the sheer number of crimes and attacks that have been prevented by firearms, and the lives that have been saved by them. Neither do the media or the government acknowledge that the cities with the highest crime and gun mortality rates are the states and/or districts (D.C.) where guns are essentially banned, like Chicago, L.A., D.C., Boston, etc.

“Eleventh- With respect Alex tax money being taken from one person and given to another is necessary in order to “provide services that benefit everyone”. And I consider things like Medicare and Social Security to be responsibilities not meant to have rewards. Providing services is not about making a profit.”

I’m not sure how to answer this. You’re saying that legalized theft is necessary in order to provide Medicare, Social Security, et al., without any compensation to the person from whom the private property has been taken. Can’t I choose my own charities? What if I prefer to give my excess earnings to the Red Cross, who are the first people in after a crisis or natural disaster? What if I prefer to give my excess earnings to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, who provide treatment to kids with cancer, and at no cost to the parents if they can’t afford it? What if I want to give my excess earnings to the Shriners who help children with burns, cleft pallets, spinal disorders, and many other things? Since when does the government have the authority to tell me that I can’t give to St. Jude’s to help cancer kids because I have to give to the government coffers in order to provide an unemployment check to someone who’s been on unemployment for fourteen months without even looking for a job?

What you need to do in a situation like this is consider not merely where the tax money is going, but where the funds aren’t going because of the taxation. I’ve watched far too many people at the grocery store buying ten or more packs of hotdog buns and hot dogs to have a cookout on foodstamps, or working a job under the table while they collect an unemployment check. I’ve seen plenty of people who are “disabled” with things like depression, who have no problem getting around and enjoying life so long as they don’t have to work. While I am a believer in the programs we have, because I do believe there are people out there in sincere need, I can’t readily get behind them because they are all abused, and no one ever does anything to weed out the abusers.

On your thirteenth point, the question to which you are responding was more rhetorical than anything else. I wasn’t actually asking you what you paid. I hope, given your circumstances, that I didn’t embarrass you. But since you did answer, I think it’s at least appropriate to point out that you paid in only 1/4,000,000th of what Romney paid in. I guess you have some catching up to do if you’re going to contribute your “fair share” eh?

Yes, when Clinton left office, we had a budgetary surplus. I hate that he took us into Iraq. I don’t have an opinion on the tax cuts. I don’t know what the surplus was, or how heavily the tax cuts affected that surplus. But as stated before, there’s no telling how bad things might have gotten when things got ugly if he hadn’t done something. Regardless, I agree that the war in Iraq, as well as the continuing wars right now, are a huge waste of lives and money.

But it’s all to a purpose. The government’s economic model believes that spending money we don’t have is the way to stimulate the economy. However, that’s a huge post of its own.

I want you to take note that your points 15 and 17 feed off each other. You have to take a moment and think like a business person. As I’m sure you can agree, no one starts a business to break even. You open a business so you can make a profit. I hope you can also agree that every person, no matter their station, wants to capitalize on high profit potential when the opportunity arises. Proof of this is evident enough in the cash for gold business. With gold near $1700 an ounce, even my mother was like, “hmmm, I’m going to have to go through my jewelry box and see what I have in there.”

When the cost of labor becomes too high, there are only three real choices for the business. They can raise their prices, which the public won’t accept. They can cut wages, which the unions (or even regular workers) won’t allow. Or they can outsource the labor to another country where they can afford to pay it. But you have to understand that Americans won’t accept higher prices or lower wages, and they complain if a company outsources. They only way Americans would be content with the price of a product is if they knew that the business was selling the product at or below production cost, and even then they would go shop at Walmart where they can get it even cheaper. So let’s be fair about the outsourcing. The general public has no clue what sort of real profits most of these companies are making. They have no idea what sort of struggles they’re having with unreasonable unions (Hostess, I believe, recently went out of business because of the union). And they are utterly ignorant when it comes to understanding that unions and regulations are forcing companies to outsource in order to stay in business.

On 19, I can guarantee you that what I told you was exactly Romney’s plan. He said it at one of the debates. Unfortunately, Americans in general are ignorant of economics, so what he said went over most people’s heads. But I caught it the first time, and I was pleasantly delighted because up until that time I thought Romney was a boob. That was the first intelligent thing I had heard him say up to that point.

You haven’t been harsh or offending. I’m enjoying our dialogue. We’ll have to start coming to agreement on some of the points, though. Otherwise we won’t be able to reduce the post sizes.

Gas prices are controlled by Speculators on Wall Street and the world markets and Benjamin is still in denial like so many Conservatives of today.

      • kimo3690

TRIPLE AMEN Brother …….. well said!!!

      • Alex Frazier

Why eddie, what a very intelligent thing to say. I think you’re the first person I’ve seen on here besides myself that has acknowledged that the price of gas is controlled by the open market. Bravo.

All you have to do now is recognize that the current spending in Washington (no party affiliations being mentioned here) is devaluing our dollar at a rapid rate, and that its devaluation is a major contributing factor in the increase in price on the global market since oil is sold in dollars as per the OPEC agreements made back in the 1970s under Nixon. The combination of a weaker dollar and an increased global demand has culminated in massive inflation in gasoline prices.

      • Alex Frazier

Although … just to say so, I do recognize that your actual goal was to criticize Wall Street, not to educate Benjamin on the reason for increased gas prices.

Nevertheless, it was still a good post, even with the ugly sarcasm at the end about Conservatives.

I would ask, If little kids wrote to you asking not to be left with the huge debt you are leaving them. Will you give them the same press time you gave kids that supposedly wrote you about guns?

Subject: Fw: Wow, is Illinois and Chicago great or what? Date: Sun, 20 Jan 2013 11:23:05 -0600

Perhaps the U.S. should pull out of Chicago?

Body count: In the last 12 months 500 killed (murdered) in Chicago.
221 killed in Iraq AND Chicago has one of the strictest gun laws in the entire US.
      President: Barack Hussein Obama
      Senator: Dick Durbin
      House Representative: Jesse Jackson Jr.
      Governor: Pat Quinn
      House leader: Mike Madigan
Atty. Gen.: Lisa Madigan (daughter of Mike)
      Mayor: Rahm Emanuel
The leadership in Illinois – all Democrats.
Thank you for the combat zone in Chicago .
Of course, they’re all blaming each other.
Can’t blame Republicans; there aren’t any!
Chicago school system rated one of the worst in the country.
Can’t blame Republicans; there aren’t any!
State pension fund $78 Billion in debt, worst in country.
Can’t blame Republicans; there aren’t any!
Cook County ( Chicago ) sales tax 10.25% highest in country.
Can’t blame Republicans; there aren’t any!
This is the political culture that Obama comes from in Illinois.
And he is going to ‘fix’ Washington politics for us???
George Ryan is no longer Governor, he is in the big house.

Of course he was replaced by Rob Blajegovitch who is…that’s right, also in the big house.

And Representative Jesse Jackson Jr. resigned a couple of weeks ago.

That is because he is fighting being sent to…that’s right, the big house.

The Land of Lincoln, where our governors make our license plates.

I’m so dam glad i got out of the Chicago area. Things are so much nicer and safer here in sunny South West Florida. By the way, we carry (gasp)carry guns here.

      • Ried

Actually George Ryan has just moved from the big house to a half-way house. He’s almost done with doing his time. It is kind of sad the voters of Illinois does such a poor job electing people. I understand 4 of the last 8 governors have been convicted and have served prison time.

      • http://realsustainability.wordpress.com realsustainability

GREAT! reply Warrior! I grew up in Illinois and any more refer to it as Chicagnois. I think most folks there would LOVE to see Cook County made in to a separate state. Kind of like Washington D.C. since they share so many things in common. I can honestly say I’m ashamed of Illinois, my home state!

My oh my, what is behind this “concept” of inserting “gay couples” into the “comprehensive immigration” discussion? Kinda makes me wonder if “allah” is going to be totally appalled by how many of his “followers” come out of the “closet”.

Well, in order to perpetuate a “police state” you must have “villians”. Or so it appears.

    • JeffH

Warrior, could the reasonbe Obama’s “alleged” connection to the Chicago gay scene? Reports of Obama and Rahm Emmanuel frequenting Man’s Country in Andersonville, a bath house and that Larry Sinclair said in 1999 he engaged in such oral sex activity and crack cocaine use with then-State senator Obama on two occasions, once in the back of a Chicago limousine operated by Five Star Limousine Service, and the other at a Chicago area motel, the Comfort Suites in Gurnee, Illinois or that Jeremiah Wright’s Trinity United Church of Christ choir director, Donald Young and Obama were both card carrying members of Wright’s special “Down Low Club” and that Young reportedly had a sexual relationship with Obama.

The gay DLC’s services were intended to keep ensure TUCC’s gay members avoided posting solicitations on web services like Craig’s List and refrain from cruising gay bars. The strategy was to protect them from getting busted and being “outed.”

Hmmmm, Sinclair and Young are both dead and the gay community in Chicago knows to keep away from the TUCC and “DLC” stories because of the “creepiness” of the operation and the suspicious deaths of the three TUCC gay black men.”

Obama, came into the worst recession since the great depression.

For extra credit, what happens to revenue and expeditures during a recession??? Anyone?

Now when Obama came into office, he was saddled with a 1.4T debt from the ongoing recession, Bush tax cuts and 2 wars. This past fiscal year… the debt was 1.043T. Still massive but the spending has gone down as the economy has made its slow recovery and the Gov is taking in more revenue and not spending as much on unemployment, job training programs for those former out of work people (hint, thats the answer to the extra credit question)

      Dave67 says
“Obama, came into the worst recession since the great depression”

So are you a young guy that never experienced the Carter recession? Let’s compare, when Carter left office, unemployment was running about 10%, inflation was running about 15% and mortgage rates were about 20%. The term “Stagflation” was invented to describe the carter recession. Run the numbers and see what a 20% mortgage would cost you per month for your current mortgage

Again, you are just making up revisionist history to try a push a political agenda. You would never admit that Reagan totally reversed that recession and we were having 6-7% gdp numbers in only his third year in office.

You would never admit the truth because that would show that Obama is a bumbling idiot bent on destroying this country

      • Dave67

        Bill,

Hate to break it to you… I was living in the DC area during Carter and the Recession during that period was nothing comparitively.

#1 The recession was brought upon us by the 1972 Oil Embargo due to our support for Israel

#2 Paul Volker (Carter’s guy) solved the interest rate issue

Back in 1977-1979, we were still making things in this country, we were not suckered into easy credit and credit card debt, the standard of living was higher thanks to higher union membership and the global economy was nowhere near where it is today. We had better fundemetals back in the 1970′s than we do today thanks to deregulation, spend and tax-cut gov policy and bad trade deals for US workers.

I remember odd and even days. What happened in 2008 was mjuch worse.

So you were living in DC? You mean you are a govt worker? You sure look at things through rose colored glasses

      • nc

Bill, if you would like to see where the Carter administration ranks with the Presidents from Truman to bush II let me recommend to a study that appears in a magazine owned and operated by a conservative! Steven Forbes! FORBES Magazine @ Prosperity and the Presidents! I dare say Mr. Forbes would allow any material in his magazine that he thought was not true that reflected badly on the party that he asked to nominate him for president twice! LOOK IT UP! IT MIGHT BE” PRESIDENTS AND PROSPERITY! I HAVEN’T BEEN THERE IN A WHILE! AS YOU REVIEW IT REMEMBER THAT DADDY’S BOY bush’s figures were not used for this study since his term had not ended when the study was made but it is quite evident his figures would make him dead last if used!!!! Got the guts to take a look and get back to us??? Remember that adult independents are watching your reply!!

      • Dave67

        No Bill,

I worked for the FBI and DLA for short periods but most of my experience in in the private sector. being in the DC area gave me greater visability to all the BS from both parties and I am here to tell you, the Carter years were easier than this period.

Before Reaganomics our debt was managable. Carter did the worst thing possible as president. Told the truth and what we NEEDED to hear as a nation. Imagine the difference if we got off the big teet of oil as Carter suggested? We would not have been mired in the middle east and Persia like we have been. That means no perpetual war and no military industrial complex corp wellfare.

        • tony newbill

The inflation years of the Carter Administration were a domestic driven phenomenon .
The Reagan years dissolved that Domestic Inflation into the world with International Trade that started and was continued by the last 5 presidents and has brought us to the point of what is now a Worldwide Inflation period that has no sustainable path forward for supply side economics to expand supply faster than the projections in population growth .

      • Dave67

        Tony,

It was Paul Volker that fixed the interest rate mess, not Reagan’s boy Greenspan. Reagan had nothing to do with it. Reagan did however lead us to HUGE debt, more of a consumption based economy, more stagnation of middle class and poor wages, more jobs outsourced, more degregulation that led to the collapse in 2008.

Greenspan’s work has been discredited as has the whole Reaganomic debacle since the crash of 2008.

Sorry Tony, that dog just won’t hunt.

        • tony newbill

Dave67 , you missed the whole point . Its about to many people demanding to much from a supply source thats unable to keep up with demand , inflation is a result of this .

And this is why the world leaders are all in bed together printing money and bailing each other out and running each others political and personal needs while these same world leaders fight and pair off in the quest to find the pecking order over who will control what resources in the world of the elite .

      • eddie47d

You make alot of false assumptions Bill!

    • wsk

The economy is shrinking- even the media can’t hide it. Ooops! Thanks Barry i.e. the low-eared man-child messiah.

      • Dave67

Most of the shrinkage is coming from a reduction in the defense industry welfare program. It needs to happen… Unless you perfer perpetual war. Do you?

      • sam1966

If we got rid of the welfare state, we would save $2.6 trillion dollars. Obama bin Laden Care is $1 trillion and the other welfare crap programs are $1.6 trillion. The government and defense is $1.3 trillion, so what really needs to be cut? We can’t afford to shrink our military any further, but we can get moochers off of their backsides and get them working. Here is something showing how Obama bin Laden is misusing his position:

    • TML

Dave67 says “Now when Obama came into office, he was saddled with a 1.4T debt from the ongoing recession, Bush tax cuts and 2 wars. This past fiscal year… the debt was 1.043T.”

You’re talking about the national deficit, not the national debt, which has increase by approximately 55% in Obama’s first 4 years alone. http://www.usdebtclock.org/

And Obama has increased taxes on the middle class after promising he would not (which goes hand in hand with many other promises he never followed through with) and has done plenty to expand those wars to several other countries.

      • Dave67

Again, the debt has gotten less each year of Obama’s term. Recessions have a negative impact on debt, so does wars and tax cuts during those wars.

Do not be ignorant and try to blame the debt from the wars, the recession and the tax cuts during the wars on Obama alone.

      • TML

Again, the deficit has gotten less (barely); but the debt has increased. The national debt was 10.6T when Obama took office and has risen to 16.4T

We can speculate on whether or not any tax cuts – Economic Groth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act, Jobs and Growth Tax Relief Reconciliation Act, and Tax Relief Unemployment Reauthorization and Job Creation Act (which was on Obama’s clock ) – actually helped or hurt the ecomony, but to say the Commander and Cief isn’t alone responsible for not only continuing the was, but expanding them with contraversial, and even down-right illegal “military actions” and interventions across the middle east and northern Africa, is ignorant.

      • Nadzieja Batki

Dave67, O accepted the job of President and made a whole lot of promises he did not intend to keep. Now he cannot say he did not know what he was getting himself into. Either way O comes out a liar.

    • kimo3690

Dave67, just one question please….. when you worked for the FBI did you take an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States and protect this country? I was just wondering if the FBI did the same as other law enforcement officers & military personnel… TY

      • Dave67

        Hi Kimo,

In administrative roles, you do not have to take the oath. If you are an agent, yes, you take the oath. This was in the 1980′s mind you and things may have changed.

15 Questions The Mainstream Media Would Ask Barack Obama If He Were A Republican

    1) Numerous Mexican citizens and an American citizen have been killed with weapons knowingly provided to criminals by our own government during Operation Fast and Furious. If Eric Holder was aware that was going on, do you think he should step down as Attorney General? Were you aware that was going on and if so, shouldn’t you resign?

    2) In 2010 you said Solyndra, which gave your campaign a lot of money, was “leading the way toward a brighter and more prosperous future.” Today, Solyndra is bankrupt and the taxpayers lost $500 million on loans that your administration was well aware might never be paid off when you made them. What do you say to people who say this is evidence of corruption in your administration?

    3) Unions invested a lot of time and money in helping to get you elected. In return, they gained majority control of Chrysler, the taxpayers lost 14 billion dollars on General Motors, and General Motors received a special 45 billion dollar tax break. What do you say to people who view this as corruption on a scale never before seen in American history?

    4) Through dubious means, you and your allies in Congress managed to push through an incredibly unpopular health care bill that helped lead to the worst election night for the Democratic Party in 50 years. Since the bill has passed, many of your claims about the bill have proven to be untrue. For example, we now know the bill won’t lower costs and despite your assurances to the contrary, big companies like McDonald’s say they may drop health care because of the health care reform. Since the American people have rejected your health care reform and it doesn’t do what you said it would, shouldn’t you work with the Republicans to repeal it?

    5) When you took office, gas was $1.79 per gallon. Since then, you’ve demonized the oil industry, dramatically slowed offshore drilling, blocked ANWR, and killed the Keystone Pipeline. Now, gas is $3.34 per gallon. How much higher do you anticipate driving gas prices?

    6) Occupy Wall Street has been protesting against Wall Street and the richest 1 percent in America. You are in the top 1 percent of income earners in America and you have collected more cash from Wall Street than any other President in history. So, aren’t you exactly the sort of politician that Occupy Wall Street wants to get rid of?

    7) How do you decide which foreign leaders to submissively bow towards and why do you think that’s appropriate for an American President?

    8) If they could, don’t you think the Nobel Committee would take back the Nobel Peace Prize that you were awarded?

    9) You made bipartisanship one of the central themes of your campaign in 2008. Yet, you’ve worked to push bills through Congress with almost no Republican support, spent much less time negotiating with Congress than George Bush, and you’ve said things like, “But, I don’t want the folks who created the mess to do a lot of talking. I want them to get out of the way so we can clean up the mess. I don’t mind cleaning up after them, but don’t do a lot of talking.” Why did you decide to break your campaign promise to pursue bipartisanship?

Believe me, he knows. During WW1 the german media protrayed the English soldiers a oofs, and dunces. When the german soldiers, think ing this was true confronted the english soldiers and the english slaughtered. In England their media protrayed the German soldiers as monsters, out to rape the english women and bayonet their children. When the english soldiers confronted the germans, they fought as if their lives depended. Hitler learned that and the german soldiers fought everybody as if they were out to get them personally.

Don’t ever discount Obama and his ilk, Their not oofs and dunces. They’re out kill you figuratively. As long as you think that way, your dead meat.

Why would anyone ever bother to ask a question of someone who is dedicated to controlling his life, liberty and properties? You cannot reason with the Obama’s of this world. One of has to be the winner in words and actions. On his side, anything goes so that he can achieve his goals. Same for us only we’re moral, not amoral. It isn’t even a month since he’s been re-elected and already he’s declared war on our Constitutional Republic. He’s opened up on every front there is. FDR said: When you see things happening in politics, they don’t just happen. You can bet there planned that way. We’re Don Knott and he’s Mike Tyson and we better realize that but quick instead of reacting to everything he’s doing is if we’re punch drunk. Pick a front you want and work at it by organizing a counter attack. Aid the others but work hard at just one. Spend your money on just one. The people battling in other one’s must do the same. There are signs of organization but they better move faster. As a nation we’ve been indoctrinated and now we need to be enlightened to what’s right. Sure our Constitution has been trashed but the conservative aid in it just like the socialist. As a conservative, what do you think of undeclared wars? Did the issue of natural born or not come up at election time? You can name others the same as I can. How many people have even bothered to read the laws of the land so they can say NO? If he comes for your guns because the edicts of tyrants, not laws, says so: Will you surrender yours?

I think the only people who watched the 60 minute interview was the media themselves. One side was supper pleased with themselves, the other is left trying to figure it out i.e. was it an interview or love fest. So now their news, the media’s news, becomes news itself. What Mr Crystal said was dumb but if I could ask Obama questions, I would ask:

    1) Why have the big banks not been broken up?

    2) Why has nobody associated with the economic collapse of 2008 gone to jail?

    3) Why did your administration put into the Patriot Act, the provision to jail Americans “inidefinately” under the flag of being a terrorism suspect?

    4) Why don’t you use the public airwaves more to hit these obstructionist GOPers on their awful record of working with you to fix the country

    5) Could you slap Harry Reid for me? (Ok, that one was silly but its something I really would like to see happen)

    6) What part of free trade with countries like China, Cen American countries, Asian/African countries that pay their workers nothing is good for american workers?

    7) What healthcare models in the world would you wish to emmulate the most?

    8) What is your full perscription for making our economy strong and getting out of the debt we have incurred over the last 30 years?

    9) Why have you not submitted a challenge to the Citizen’s United decision that has hurt our political system?

    10) Most challenging moment of your presidency, your greatest achievement?

    11) Can national security concerns be reconciled with our stated principals when it comes to trade with bad regimes like the ones in Saudi Arabia, Venezuela etc

    12) What are the biggest keys to more effective government for a nation of the United States size and economic power?

    13) Bill Clinton seemed to care more about his “legacy” than much else, how concerned are you about your legacy?

    14) What have you learned about your political opposition as president?

    15) What is your position of forbidding lawmakers from going into lobbying within 10 years of leaving Congress?

    16) We went from a builder economy, then to a consumer driven economy, now we are an information driven economy, where do you see the economy going in the next evolution?

    17) Can you have education reform without changing the attitudes of the teacher’s union as it pertains tenure?

    18) What is the reason behind the non-reform of the filibuster?

    19) What is the key to reduce gun violence while not alarming 2nd Amendment advocates who see any movement on the issue as a “gun grab”?

    20) Do you have serious discussions about national soverenty when lauching drone attacks in other countries against suspected terrorists?

That would be my twenty questions, not ridiculous ones like Mr Crystal. I guess he is trying (very badly) to be a comedian.

Many religious people accept modern science, including the Big Bang, evolution, and the fact that dinosaurs died out many millions of years before Man evolved, understanding that God either directed the process or set it in motion and permitted it to occur. The truly stupid insist that every word in the Bible is literally true even where it defies what we know of physics and biology. The Bible was written by very intelligent men some 2,500 years ago during the Babylonian Exile. Unfortunately, it is read by morons who insist it must all be literally true because they were taught that. The same people think “The Flintstones” is a documentary.

Wrong, wrong, wrong Jeffy. Take a look at this hit that evolution takes on the chin:

            http://www.icr.org/article/7251/

Just another lie from Jeff. BTW, evolution has nothing to do with resistance. Since I seem to be resistant to certain diseases, this does not mean i have evolved, it just means it is more difficult for me to become ill. Evolution has nothing to do with it. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY! 하나님하고 나라를 위해서!

You need both love of country and faith in God to be a patriot. This leaves you out.

“I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same…”

Military swearing in to enlist or reenlist

*It seems that you don’t know what this means. Maybe you didn’t have the nads to serve?

          • kimo3690

AMEN Brother…….. Oath Keepers!! And trust me there are alot of YOU throughout this GREAT Nation!!! TY TY

          • Jeff

“Just another lie from Jeff. BTW, evolution has nothing to do with resistance. Since I seem to be resistant to certain diseases, this does not mean i have evolved, it just means it is more difficult for me to become ill. Evolution has nothing to do with it”

Maybe you can’t tell the difference between you and billions of bacteria that reproduce at virtually the speed of light . . . . but I’ll bet the bacteria can.

It is true you have not evolved since birth. But if people never evolved, then why do people from different parts of the world look different from one another? Did God create Frenchmen separately from Chinese and Africans? If we all came from Adam and Eve, why are there different races? Evolution is about changes in a species over many, many generations; not about changes in an individual. If you have a beneficial immunity to some disease, it is the result of an adaptation to conditions your ancestors survived. If 100 kids are born in an area infested with malaria-causing mosquitoes, those born with the gene affording them protection from malaria (sickle cell) will survive and reproduce while the others will not do as well and over time, that genetic aberration becomes the norm in that population.

From what I have read of these comments including yours, too many don’t know sarcasm when they read it. I’m still laughing even after reading so many ignorant comments. Keep it up Ben.

  • Jeff

    Huh?

  • Linda

Here I must interject. Guys really. Do you not see how his DIVIDE AND CONQUER is working on you, and us all?

  • SJJolly

The twenty questions: Ben Crystal’s idea of political humor, or of political satire? No, he probably thinks they are serious, “fair and balanced” questions.

  • Gary Belote

Jeffery….Prez Obama wears a wedding band witht the inscription “no other god but allah” He refuses to attend the national prayer breakfast but has attended 2 with muslims. Still think he’s a christian? He is a liar…and here is proof…Hilliary signed a treaty with the UN on small arms. It specifically sets forth the TOTAL CONSFISCATION of all arms not held by the police or the military. Just last week Obama said in a speech…”I will not take your rifles, I will not take your pistols, I will not take your shotguns”. Assuming Hillary signed the treaty with the full knowledge and consent of the President he lied!

    • kimo3690

YEP YEP YEP…….. YOU tellin the truth MY friend!!

    • Jeff

Stay under the bed. As long as your sheets have sufficient thread count, the drones and Black Helicopters can’t get you there. Just 4 years until the scary, scary Black man is all gone!!!

      • kimo3690

WHY Jeff is the “race” card pulled EVRYTIME someone disagrees with Obie??? It is soooooooooooo tiresome. AMERICAN is a creed, NOT a race; It is an HONOR!! As Linda said previously, the whole direction of the present leadership is to DIVIDE & CONQUER America from within…. these “blog” sites are surely proof enough that another “civil war” is on it’s way………. what a shame when “WE The People” could come together under OUR Constitution and demand the TRYANNY STOP in Governement…… Bless YOU my friend & GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!! I can recite the Pledge of Alligence… can YOU??

        • Jeff

          I must admit I don’t know if you’re a bigot, but I do know you’re paranoid.

      • sam1966

What a simpleton response. Here is something that shows how the African Americans are worse off now than when Obama bin Laden first stepped into office:

FOR GOD AND COUNTRY! 하나님하고 나라를 위해서!

You need both love of country and faith in God to be a patriot. This leaves you out.

“Had the doctrines of Jesus been preached always as pure as they came from his lips, the whole civilized world would now have been Christian.”

        Thomas Jefferson
        Letter to Benjamin Waterhouse

  • Jeff

All Muslims? You probably have Muslim neighbors. How do you handle that? There are probably Chinese who wish you harm also. Must you then hate and fear all Chinese? You can take reasonable measures to protect yourself but this idea that everyone who looks foreign is a threat to your life is really paranoid. The ironic thing is the victims of these attacks are often Hindus.

    • kimo3690

DON’T forget N. Korea Lad………. we are considered their arch-enemy….

      • Jeff

Exactly. And do you look at every Korean you see as if he’s here on behalf of Kim Jong Un?

        • kimo3690

I’m sorry I thought I could have an intelligent conversation with you but I see that is impossible….. I recognize AMERICA is made up of all kinds of races…… and are good AMERICAN people……. I also recognize that the USA is HATED by many on foreign soil……… However, YOU carry on with your rhetoric and I’ll just find someone intelligent to talk to!! ALOHA!

        • kimo3690

BTW I am black/hawaiian/chinese……. so YOU do the math on “how” paranoid I am………. Aloha!

          • Jeff

My comment was meant for the poster who made a statement sounding like every Muslim wants us all dead. If I misunderstood you, I apologize. But I do think it’s paranoid to think everybody in “Muslim” dress is plotting your demise.

  • kimo3690

    HOWEVER, I am AMERICAN FIRST!!!

  • mattzweck

    Obama an ignorant basterd.

I guess some folks are scratching their heads over the recent shooting of 3 police officers trying to catch that former military man and former cop out in California. After all the mantra of the gun loving anti regulations folks is that “the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun” and yet THREE good guys could not put down one bad guy. In fact one of the good guys lies dead and the others wounded. Adding to the conundrum is the shooting death of that special forces and armed ace sniper a few days earlier. Presumably he was a good guy and yet he another armed good guy were bumped off by one bad guy with a gun.

The N.R.A. is sticking to another ridiculous contention which is that every school should have armed guards – maybe even one at every door of every school. Certainly that would end unemployment! But now a gun totting nut has blown away a school bus driver. Rather than make it harder for nuts to get guns the N.R.A. must think that there should be an armed police officer on every school bus not to mention at every door of every mall and every bus stop and every movie theatre etc., etc.

Anyway up here in Canada we have avoided a gun culture and we maintain a pretty vibrant and open democracy and high standard of living. Farmers and hunters have guns and criminals can get them (from south of the border) but we simply make it tough for potential mass murders from getting them by not selling them on virtually every street corner. How many of our American cousins are going to get blown away today because of some quaint notion of a 18th century regulated militia? Good luck – and keep your head down!

    • Jeff

Many of the gun nuts on these blogs have seen too many movies. They’re sure their gun will allow them to kill any bad guys they see. The fact is if this rogue cop came to one of their houses, he’d kill the occupant in seconds and add to his arsenal of weapons. If you’re not trained (military or police) and you have a weapon at the scene of a mass shooting, it is exceedingly unlikely you’ll be able to do anything constructive. A trained police officer – maybe.
