it does not matter who win

    • http://boblivingstonpl.wordpress.com Bob Livingston

      Dear alfred,

Do you mean it does not matter who wins debate? Who wins election? Or both?

      Bob

      • Jack Worthington

I will not speak for Alfred, but since neither candidate deals with the root cause of the economic debacles and wars since the inception of the Federal Reserve Bank and its fiat currency/credit system and since neither candidate is addressing this root cause, the fiat currency, then I can see Alfred’s point. Most of the debates deal with symptoms of the disease/cancer but not with the root cause. The patient is not healed by treating sysmptoms, he is healed by treating the root causes of the illness.

        • http://boblivingstonpl.wordpress.com Bob Livingston

I agree. I just sought clarification.

      • diderot

Electoral College. And if not them, then we have to contend with what Christians say, i.e., that the Lord selects leadership.

  • mr_bad_example

hi wayne, hope mitt trounces obummer tonight!

  • http://www.watchamerica.com alfred

God place in office who he wants

    • diderot

Thats why we have Barry Obama. Thank you Lord.

  • http://www.watchamerica.com alfred

mitt romey was the first governer that adolped cap and trade

  • http://www.watchamerica.com alfred

Obama has no experience at all

    • mr_bad_example

sure he does, he’s burned 5 trillion bucks with nothing to show for it, that takes talent

  • http://www.watchamerica.com alfred

there is no difference between theds men they are both globlist

  • Rafael

I believe the two candidates are demagogues and I don’t think they will say anything new, both are war believers, both think in a boom bust economy (QE – fiat money) that is why they won’t talk or answer any question related.
The bust will come sooner or later.

    • Pat78

      I totally agree!

  • Jack Worthington

I look for candidates who address the root cause(s) and not the symptoms. When a candidate addresses a symptom of the problem, he invariably resorts to some kind of logical fallacy. We should all be familiar with the most common forms of logical fallacies and be able to detect them and explain any candidate’s use of fallacious arguments. Fox News commentators should be well versed in logical fallacies and point out to the listening audience when a candidate uses one.

  • Russ Winter

Wayne, I really liked your message on “The Record”. Why do you think Romney is not doing something similar so that all of America knows this stuff?

  • Steve

Libya is more than a foreign policy issue, it’s a transparancy issue and a competency issue. Obama fails on all three. Going to be a long night for “team O”.

  • mr_bad_example

    the smack-down begins!

  • Barbara J Struble

No one will win because Gary Johnson won’t be on stage.

    • http://boblivingstonpl.wordpress.com Bob Livingston

      Agreed.

  • Jeremy

Oh so this is just a commentary?

  • mr_bad_example

wayne, i was in las vegas last week for my 52nd birthday, i couldn’t find your star

  • Liberty Lover

To understand the cover-up of Benghazi, just reflect on Obama’s description of Ft. Hood as “workplace violence” instead of an act of terror.

  • Catherine

Tax reform, tort reform, education reform, campaign reform, federal reserve reform, balanced budget reform, legislative, executive, and judicial reform… is it too late to start over? It is all one big mess.

    • cerebus23

i would add term limits across the board, heck i might go so far to say that if someone has not run anything in their lives in the private sector they are unable to run for public office.

and look at ways to get real people into serving their country.

    • http://yahoo Sheri

Thanks to the President predcessors that we have this big mess and it doesn’t matter who get in office it will not be fixed the problem in eight years believe that .

  • http://www.watchamerica.com alfred

Wayne there a 16 trillion debt that will take will sacrifice to pay off

  • Sophia Snyder

It does matter who wins because the truth needs to be seen loud and clear so people will vote the for the right person. We have our liberty in state.

  • Jeremy

I’m with you Wayne. Romney is at an advantage as he doesn’t have a foreign policy record to defend and Obama does.

  • GALVATRON

Hi Wayne…how bad will the media side with BHO tonight? Also Michelle Obama looks too calm…does he have something up his sleeve…

  • http://www.watchamerica.com alfred

my two important issue are abortion and homosexural those two should be bann

  • Barbara J Struble

I do not have the stomach to watch the “dance”. Please keep me up with your comments. Thanks. Peace,

  • Jeremy

Obama didn’t end the war in Iraq. Bush signed the agreement for the troops to be pulled out by the end of 2011.

  • mr_bad_example

got rid of a despot, and installed al quada… way to go BO!

  • http://n/a larry

    are Wayne’s comments only written;
    not audio?

  • dan

….I hate to be a gloomy-gus,but to me it’s like a choice between the devil and the deep Blue sea (or the NWO oligarchy and the totalitarian Thugocracy)

  • Barbara J Struble

I believe that Romney did not mention Libya on purpose – just a dance. Peace,

  • SHIRLEY

Our soldiers are now headed to Mali….

  • Steve

Sounds like Romney is for more foreign aid?

  • http://www.theguysinties.com Chuck McDonald

After 4 LONG years of O’Bummer America needs a little R & R (Romney & Ryan). As a small business owner i wish Romney great luck tonight. GOD BLESS Romney and America.

    • http://twitter.com/howaboutthatnow Wanda (@howaboutthatnow)

      Amen. O is so arrogant

  • http://facebook Cheryl

I am afraid of what he will do in the lame duck session, especially if Obama loses. Agenda 21 and netherworld sea treaty and gun ban imposed btw the UN. Also the idea of the U N imposing taxes on the world for internet use.

  • SHIRLEY

    Flim Flam man

  • Ed Anderson

Romney is pointing out facts….and O’Vomit is trying to move the area from one to a different one ….{speaking war}…!!!

  • Debora Daniels

Yaaa Romney!! hit Obama, keep him on tract.

  • SHIRLEY

    QUIT INTERRUPTING!!!

  • Jeremy

No we need to get the hell out of there. The biggest threat to American security is our foreign policy. Iran has not attacked anyone since 1798. We have military installations around Iran. Iran has never done anything to us. Iraq did have a SOFA which was signed by Bush and 2008.

  • Steve

Obama a friend of Israel…really now?

  • mr_bad_example

Israel is a “true friend”, that’s why BO wants the ’67 borders…. RIGHT!

  • SHIRLEY

???NATION BUILDING AT HOME WITH UNEMPLOYMENT OVER 19%

  • Catherine

We are not safe. The Middle East will not become democratic – ever. That is not what the religious leaders want. As far as president… I’ll take Romney over Obama any day. He at least has some character qualities that I can stand behind, unlike his partner.

  • mercedfred

You’re right Wayne. Putin has done everything he can to block us on any subject that comes up. The fact Obama can’t seem to grasp that is frightening.

  • Jeremy

Now after Lybia and drone strikes, committing US Forces to AFghanistan until 2024, Obama wants to talk like a non interventionist. Sheesh

  • http://www.watchamerica.com alfred

both candidates all not really qualified to leave they are both acting like children

    • Surya Maruvada

If you do not understand the difference in competence, principles, and honesty between the two, the best you can do for the country is to not vote!!!

      • http://Aol Lucette

        Very well said,
Only the one who pay taxes should be able to vote.
if you are on welfair for life, your rights should be removed.

  • Phil

I think it does matter to some as to who wins the debate as there are those who are swayed by smooth talk. The bigger thing is who wins in Nov.

  • Jeremy

Obama continues to send foreign aid to the middle East. So yea he’s still a friend of Israel.

  • SHIRLEY

    International community??? WHAT ABOUT AMERICA???
ARMS IN WRONG HANDS…WHAT ABOUT FAST AND FURIOUS????

  • Russ Winter

Obama’s got a blinking problem. What does body language say about that

    • http://twitter.com/howaboutthatnow Wanda (@howaboutthatnow)

Nervous as when not being honest

    • http://aol Carolyn Allen

Obama has no problem looking anyone in the eye and telling bold face lies ! Yes you have cut the military budget already in force by you Obama. Yes you have taken religion out of our country. You only recognize the muslim religion Obama.

  • Palin16

Mitt nailed Obummer on more flexibility after my election.

  • SHIRLEY

    like that …FORM OF COUNSEL….

  • Barbara J Struble

Romney is as terrible in foreign policy as Obama. And also economics – only Gary Johnson will turn America around now. It is too late for a little moderation. Peace,

    • Jeremy

Thank you. Where is Gary Johnson to talk sense into these 2? I can’t wait until tomorrow night’s debate.

      • Surya Maruvada

You and Gary Johnson and the rest of the Losertarians, why can’t you understand that to implement policy rather than whine, we need to win elections?

  • Steve

Wayne, how about the picking of winners and losers in the region? Some regiems we overthrow but others not. Some protests we support and some not. Seems like the “winners” he chooses always have radical ties.

  • charles

i wonder what trump has on the pres? romney has been confident in his statements..

  • SHIRLEY

THE BLINKING IS MAKING ME DIZZY

    • Palin16

      I notice that too

  • Jeremy

Why is it our responsibility to police up the rest of the world? No wonder the rest of the world is laughing at us. We are drone striking, surrounding Iran, stuck in Afghanistan. We are creating enemies by going around the world and “promoting Democracy.”

  • John Hasse

I think we are toast. Even Ron Paul or Gary Johnson wouldn’t be able to pull the country out of the current dive, though I would like for them to have had the opportunity to try.

  • Jeremy

Finally someone says something somewhat sensible. We don’t need to go to Syria.

    • mercedfred

You’re right. Last place we need to be in.

      • Jeremy

WE don’t even need to go to Iran. They keep talking about getting rid of Hossad. What has he done to us?

  • mr_bad_example

who’s blinking more? i am listening on radio

    • diderot

Sociopaths dont blink more. They smile more.

  • Barbara J Struble

I am done with this trash. I will wait for Gary Johnson commentary and tomorrow night’s debate with the 4 other candidates. Bye. Peace – LIVE FREE.

  • charles

romeny comes off as he the pres already and obama is the challenger…has he turn the tables?

    • diderot

Remember, no matter how he turns it, its still a table

  • SHIRLEY

    AMERICA’S ROLE IN THE WORLD…
    THE LEADERSHIP OF FREEDOM

  • Douglas in Sydney Australia

The communication age and the USA does not communicate the money given to the Middle East. Why. Romney needs to announce a radio free Middle East to disseminate the truth about where the money goes – to corrupt Middle East dictators.

  • Jeremy

Human rights everywhere except here. It’s not our responsibility to end other conflicts. Let them duke it out.

  • http://boblivingstonpl.wordpress.com Bob Livingston

Attack Syria and Iran for peace?

Continue to build up military that is already strongest and most expensive in the world?

    Do these make sense?

  • mr_bad_example

i wonder why both obama and mitt are looking to the right…

  • Paul

Romney is the Presidential candidate at this point with Obama being an irritate radical.

  • Joe

It would be great if either of the establishment candidates would acknowledge the fact that we are in multiple unconstitutional wars in the Middle East. We suffer acts of “terrorism” because we are there, maintaining and building empire. They don’t hate us because we are “free”. Has anyone noticed that the Swiss Embassy is never attacked by the “Jihadists”?

  • walter west

I thought that I caught Obama in a lie about lybia and what he did and I did but now I am realizing that he just really did not know what he left when kaddaf was killed and he shust said that we made sure we could get along with the people that were left when in reality the place was crawling with al q just praying he would pave the way they just took over and he came back here saying they were all but dead a distant memory seemingly throwing fuel to the flame so to speak really I think that he was clueless all along the way he is talking now

  • http://www.watchamerica.com alfred

both men are younger than 67

  • moonbeam

Why does he keep saying we ended the war in Iraq? I guess if he keeps telling himself that he’ll believe it.

  • SHIRLEY

    STAND!!!
    Better???
    HIGH UNEMPLOYMENT..
    HIGH DEBT

  • mercedfred

If Romney is really serious about linking the economy and defense he’s got to find some way to reign in military spending as well as entitlements.

    • Stan Hayes

      The word is REIN…

  • James

.Why dont we go back to what Reagan did?… Build up the military and warn anyone who even thinks of attacking the US that we will not tolerate it.

    • Judy

Exactly, because the first job of the government is to keep its people safe, not run our lives, beside with a strong military no one would push us around!

    • Pat78

We certainly need to close our borders and deal with the rift raft that has come in or we will be dealing with more of the enemy within our borders!

  • Scott Mattson

the thing is, we cant afford all these foreign wars and nation building. bring our troops home and put them on the border. end the unconstitutional Federal Reserve and fractional reserve banking! both of these losers will destroy our country and collapse our dollar! wake up! the NWO is right around the corner!

    • Pat78

Nation building and the FED will continue. Not a whole lot of big differences between these two consequences. Romney can be pro-life all he says he is. It won’t matter when we’re beholden to China. China is even more controlling as a pro-death nation

      • Scott Mattson

well China is buying up all of our debt and our country. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJ3W4oDIUaY where, in the original Red Dawn, we was worried about Soviet Union invading us. now, we worry about China invading us!

  • http://www.watchamerica.com alfred

maybe gas prices is so high that why inports went down

  • Jeremy

Oh yea Mr Obama. We see how our public education system is going. Look at Chicago.

  • Jeremy

You’re right we need to cut spending but not raise taxes.

  • Jeremy

Yea Governor. Your policy is to give tax breaks to those who don’t need it.

    • Douglas in Sydney Australia

the cogent point is not that the rich do not need it.

The point is that it will make 2/5 ths of nothing difference due to the size of the debt that the Democrats have increased by 60%.

Go find a job from a person of modest means. Mow his lawn and shovel his snow for $5 an hour.

    • Surya Maruvada

“give breaks”? You mean not taking everything someone has is “giving”? Your socialist stripes are showing. You also believe tax rate cuts have to be “paid for”?

  • Cathy Adkins

I can not believe what is coming out of obama’s mouth. Please tell me that people are smart enough to figure this guy out

    • mercedfred

Never count him out. The public was dumb enought to buy his “Program” last time. Democracy can be scary.

      • Jack Worthington

Democracy is mob rule or leads to mob rule, US Army Training Manual of 1928. I agree and furthermore, I think we ought not to be meddling in any other nation’s affairs. No us taxes should be given as “aid” to any nation. Charity belongs in the mind and heart of the donor, not a commie/socialist/obummanist criminal government.

  • Jeremy

Public education. Let me guess. Asia is still beating the hell out of us Mr. Obama. Ugh I”m having a hard time not cussing.

  • Donald Fox

HOW CAN ANYONE WITH A RATIONAL MIND VOTE FOR OBAMA WHEN 4 MAJOR WORLD DICTATORS HAVE EXPRESSED THEIR SUPPORT FOR HIM?

    • mercedfred

They just recognize a fellow traveler.

    • Jack Worthington

Right arm Donald. With the Benghazi massacre, it is evident that appeasement doesn’t work and obumma should be given the boot.

  • Joe

Neither Big Government establishment will touch the subject of the unconstitutional Federal Reserve System. Without the ability to secretly tax the people by “printing” fiat money, we would not have the welfare/warfare state that has bankrupted our country.

  • Tom

Romney and his strong military plus talking about the deficit. He looks stupid

  • Cathy

Poor obama, he acts like he so mad. Guess cause he doesn’t have teleprompter.

  • moonbeam

Why doesn’t Romney say “why did you say no when asked if you ever used any other name besides BHO”? Isn’t that why you lost your law license? Yeah, bring that up since he wants to go on the attack.

WHOA. Romney just now said he would get rid of obamacare because we can’t afford it

  • Jeremy

Romney This is coming out of Ron Paul’s playbook.

  • http://www.watchamerica.com alfred

i f is God will i will not go against God

  • moonbeam

    BO is rambling.

  • SHIRLEY

The active duty and the cuts…it is hard…

  • Cathy

Are you kidding me. That’s what is wrong with america….we are the weakest link. This president can’t even protect 4 people in Libya.!!! He scares me to death. Not keeping us safe

  • Tom

Why doesn’t Mitt say that the Prez had almost 4 years to do all these things he said he was going to do but instead put the Nation in 4 trillion debt of which 40% was borrowed plus the President comments on oil and energy could have been sqashed by the $1.82 when he took office and the $4 now. If the President said again as he did in the last debate “it was because we were in a recession then” Mitt could have taken a line from Reagan and say “There you go again”..you said that in the last debate and you are 100% wroong.

  • Lawrence

Romney has blown it being mr. nice guy. He has failed to attack Obama in the important areas of backing Israel. Both are wrong in that Democracy is hated by the countries of the middle east. Who are we anyway to try to tell those people how to live?
We should pull all of our military out of our bases all over the world. Also we should stop all foreign aid We can not buy the friendship of the world.

    • Stan Hayes

You miss the point. Romney’s IN CHARGE, Hussein’s in a huff. Who’s presidential??

    • Jack Worthington

Agree, except that Democracy leads to mobocracy (US Army Training Manual 1928), so I too oppose it as did the founders of America.

  • http://boblivingstonpl.wordpress.com Bob Livingston

Romney has gotten under Obama’s skin. Obama’s being petulant.

    • mercedfred

He really has a massive ego. Being challenged causes him to become so upset he loses concentration.

  • Joe

It is surprising that Mitt Romney, being the successful business man that he is, proposes more military spending. We are broke. Like Rome in the final days, we can’t afford the empire.

    • Jack Worthington

I agree. obumma had the opportunity 4 years ago and failed. Reason enough to give him the boot.

  • moonbeam

His policies haven’t worked either. who is he kidding?

  • Cathy

He lies to cover up other lies. I can’t believe him. He needs to be FIRED

  • mr_bad_example

as long as obummer is president, iran won’t get a nuke, so that’s another 3 months…

  • P2

Gov Romney needs to remind folks of the President’s leadership failure WRT sequester. He stood on the sidelines rather than working with congress to come up with a plan…

    • mercedfred

He can’t lead. He expects everyone to just follow because he knows best.

  • SHIRLEY

    ISRAEL…GOD’S CHOSEN

    • http://none Charlie

      SHIRLEY,,,
Yep ,,, that right , the children of Jacob Israel … see 1 Chronicles 16:13……….

    • diderot

Yep, chosen as suggested by the letter just ahead of yours.

  • http://www.watchamerica.com alfred

    israel is our brother

    • http://none Charlie

      alfred,,,
Are you from the lineage of Esau or Jacob Israel ???

    • diderot

Okay, lets settle this God thing once and for all. All jews residing in the US need to emigrate to Israel, take up arms and contest with the Muslim world. The winners God becomes the worshipped God. In the interest of purity, however, only those of jewish blood need participate. Pure contest, ordained outcome.

  • http://PersonalLibertyDigest Sheila Hartzler

Ask Netanahu abput Obama’s friendship! This man,BO, is so full of it! Everything out of his mouth is deceit and obfuscation.

  • SHIRLEY

WHAT IS THE COMMUNITY OF NATIONS???

    • diderot

SURRENDERING NATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY (OUR CONSTITUTION) TO THE UNITED NATIONS

      • JohnR

What a unique basis for a new conspiracy theory! Go with it!

      • diderot

Hi, John R. Just an interesting point of reference, google the complete set of presidential executive orders through the years. I think Wikipedia has a pretty comprehensive list to read. Notice how these, if applied, wd eliminate the structure and undergirdings of the constitution, all without consent of the governed. Interestingly they seem to focus and accelerate concentration of power in the Executive Branch, i.e., essentially “Fuhrerizing” the office of the president. Regards.

        • JohnR

Thank you for the tip – I’ll do it. I understand your point, and you’ve suggested a great way to quantify/illustrate the trend.

          Thanks again.

  • http://Yahoo Dianna gittelmam

Why won’t Romney challenge anything he is saying???

    • Jack Worthington

I and am sure millions of others are asking you question. Romney is a dissapointment.

  • Jerry Anderson

Document dump just released shows Administration and Libyan Embassy communicating for past 12 months about security issues there and Ambassador BEGGED for additional security support just before he was killed. Administration wanted bragging rights over a “stabilized” Libya and having strong security force there for the Ambassador would jeopardize that desired image of success so they pulled out the main security force that was there and when the attack came covered for it with the spontaneous reaction to the anti Islamic film cover. Caught with hands in the cookie jar! They LIED to us! This is impeachable! See the FOX story here: http://us.mg6.mail.yahoo.com/neo/launch

    • mercedfred

That’s why he got Hillary to take the blame. And she wants to be President so bad one day she’d take one for the team.

  • Cathy

Oh right we’ve restored credibility…..all he Obama has done is apologize to everybody for America, which he hates.

  • Drew Dinsdale

I have only one thing to say. I have my MBA and I did not go to Colombia. However, I read between the lines and the way Obama talks that I am 10 trillion times smarter than him. Also, I hope I an not the only one who notices this, but he never really answers the question at hand. He just uses that time to trash Romney. So, I hope he gets out of office, because if he were my employee in a work setting he would have been fired by now. If you want to vote for him, then tell me one good reason why you would vote for him. The way he is spending money should be a message in itself. If he someway scams himself into office than I am going to take any investments I have in the dollar I will take it out and put it into precious metals. This is because I know Business so well. Also, if this really were the “Utipia” he is trying to create he would be drunk on the street, or he and his wife would be in prison!

    • Jack Worthington

Good observation. I have noticed this too. Obumma bin ladin and booby bin biden resort to some form of logical fallacy when confronted with questions that would uncover their deceptions and failures, evidence of scoundrels.

    • murph

      Ditto!! right on!

    • JohnR

Republicans, during the current campaign, have continuously labeled the Obama administration as “anti-business.” “The president and his people just don’t understand how the private sector works,” said Mitt Romney. “Too often, you find yourself facing a government that looks at you like you’re the bad guys.” “This is certainly the most anti-business administration since the Carter years,” added Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY). “I think he borders on being hostile to the private sector,” said former Gov. Mike Huckabee (R-AR).
But three simple facts show that this charge is detached from reality.

First, as the New York Times noted, since Obama came into office, “the Dow Jones industrial average has gained 67.9 percent. That’s an extremely strong performance — the fifth best for an equivalent period among all American presidents since 1900″:

Next, the S&P 500, measuring the 500 largest publicly traded companies, is up 80 percent:

Finally, corporate profits have soared back beyond their pre-recession heights:

Corporations made a record $824 billion last year. The Obama administration has also cut taxes for small businesses several times, and, of course, presided over a rescue of the auto industry that was almost universally opposed by Republicans. If this is anti-business, it seems that the business world could use more of it.

      • diderot

Stocks were soaring because Barry Soetoro bails them out if they fail. If GM builds stuff people no longer want, they need to go. (Read The Wastemakers by Vance Packard). Why should we continually bailout substandard companies? As a consumer, the only powrr u have is to vote with your pocketbook. They build junk, we dont buy it. Pure market forces. And the 1%, hate it. Earning their keep? How dare you! Ill show you….were too big to fail! So, if you dont buy our junk, we’ll force it on you! Oh, and if YOU mismanage your affairs, youre too small to support! Long live GuvMotors, and keep buying those Corvairs, Vegas, 8-6-4 Caddys, Cimmarons, war materiel, etc., etc., etc.

  • http://www.theguysinties.com Chuck McDonald

Romney will be our next President, that’s get news for all us small business owner’s. Small business will get this economy back up and running and Mr Romney knows how to help us grow. O’ Bummer says we did not build our business, sorry Mr President Government did not help me build our Company God and Hard work did.

Listen to the Hal Mason review on YouTube [ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0ZMVNBxCKgof the budget and why government/politicians will not or cannot balance it. Neither candidate explains how to cut spending on discretionary, non-discretionary and debt spending and where quantitatively taxes will be raised and upon whom. Increasing taxes on the over 250,000 f.r.a.u.ds income is blowin’ smoke, i.e. the obumma plan is both ignorant and disingenuous.

Sheri I would like to know where you are getting your information about the devil and Romney? Because with all my reading and studying the bible I see nothing that relates to Romney, but I do see parallels and prophecies that relate directly to Obama. Respectfully.

        • JohnR

I’m a retired elections official. As such, I worked with small groups of folks who were quietly passionate and iron-willed about things like accuracy, fairness, and transparency in conducting elections – not always easy. I hope you don’t mind if I remind folks that this is politics, not life and death.

Having seen many politicians in action, I think you can readily understand that I seriously doubt Obama, or anyone else in public life, is called out in Scripture. If they are, we’ll find out about it soon enough.

I’m sick and tired of the overt hatred that some radical fools express towards Obama – it’s an embarrassment for our country to the world. Moreover, I wish people would step back over the “red line” and stop vilifying Romney. “666″? Really? Ridiculous.

Obama has been praised by the Israeli president and defense minister:

Obama’s thrown Israel under the bus? That must be news to Israeli Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Ehud Barak, who told CNN, “President Obama is doing . . . more than anything that I can remember in the past [in regard to our security].:

“When I look at the record of President Obama concerning the major issues, security, I think it’s a highly satisfactory record, from an Israeli point of view,” said Israeli President Shimon Peres.

    • Jack Worthington

You are correct Shirley. Others have noticed that obumma bin boooby and booby bin biden evade questions and if they do answer, their are few quantitative answeres. Romney and Ryan also fail to give quantitative answers ot criticlal questions. I’m not talking about 5 point plans, I’m talking about nuts and bolts, e.g. by how much must SS be cut, percentage wise. Or by how much taxes must be incresed across the board. Neither candidate mentions that the income tax must be replaced by either a nationl retail sales tax (and indirect tax) or by a direct tax apportioned to the states.

  • http://www.watchamerica.com alfred

    so what president

  • JohnR

Five major points in tonight’s foreign policy debate:

    1. New reporting finds that protest against anti-Islam video played role in Benghazi attacks. Facts have been lost in the Republicans’ scramble to politicize the attacks in Libya last month that killed three Americans. It turns out that, according to the latest reports, there’s “no evidence” that the attack was ordered by al Qaeda and the attack grew out of a protest against a video disparaging the Prophet Mohammed.

    2. Romney harshly criticized Obama’s pledge to send U.S. troops into Pakistan to get Osama bin Laden. In 2007, Romney attacked Obama for saying he’d order U.S. forces into Pakistan to kill or capture bin Laden, just like he did in May, 2011. “I do not concur in the words of Barack Obama in a plan to enter an ally of ours,” Romney said in 2007. The former Massachusetts governor also said in 2007 referring to bin Laden: “It’s not worth moving heaven and earth spending billions of dollars just trying to catch one person.”

    3. Iran is not enriching weapons-grade uranium. Iran is currently enriching low-grade uranium (against the demands of the United Nations), but Israeli and U.S. intelligence and the International Atomic Energy Agency all agree that Iran has yet to decide on whether to build nuclear weapons and enrich to the high grade needed for bomb. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta has said the U.S. and the international community would know if Iran makes that decision and that it would take “a little more than a year” to construct a nuclear device.

    4. Romney will increase military spending by $2.1 trillion, with no plan to pay for it. Romney plans on increasing military spending by $2.1 trillion. One adviser repeatedly dodged questions on how Romney plans to pay for it while another said that Romney would maintain war spending indefinitely to make up the cost. CAP has charted the numbers:

    5. Israeli leaders have praised Obama’s commitment to Israel’s security: “I don’t think that anyone can raise any question mark about the devotion of this president to the security of Israel,” said Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak. “I think under President Obama we have the best relationship on the issue of security. Never were the security [...] needs better met than today under president Obama,” said Israeli President Shimon Peres.

Not according to the CIA station chief and the drone video. There was NO demonstration, just an attack cadre showing up at the Consulate and safe house a mile away, with heavy weapons. Get your facts straightt, and quit using D talking points.

    Hey Mr. Root:

Regarding the auto bailout: Check with reality: The Big 3 are now making record profits, have repaid all Gov’t loans. In the Great Recession, credit was FROZEN. Fed Gov’t was the last, and only, resort. If, as Romney proposed, the automakers had been allowed to declare bankruptcy without Federal assistance, they would have gone under.

    • P2

I think you have facts wrong John.

      • JohnR

Nope, it’s true. I’m old, not a Dem or a Liberal, and what we used to call a gear head. Sure, greenhouse gases and climate change are gigantic dangers, but I still love cars, and read a lot about the industry. I also love facts, as opposed to completely unsupported partisan rants. (btw, do you know that Bush started the bailout, left it to Obama to finish, or drop, it?)

The American Spectator is a very right-leaning website. For a very brief, but balanced, review of the bailout, please see “The Unpopular, Successful Auto Bailout” in the Spectator at

        http://prospect.org/article/unpopular-successful-auto-bailout.

And/or Google the heck out of “auto bailout”. Everybody, including his own staff, told the wet-behind-the-ears new Prez that he should let the auto industry fail. Obama correctly understood that, with credit markets completely frozen until God knows when, the Big Three would literally have to close their doors, and would probably never come back. Can you even imagine this country without an auto industry? Every job in the auto industry supports 7-8 other related jobs. Imagine the effect, just as the Great Recession was forming, on the country. Disaster.

        So, big success. Go figure.

    • moonbeam

    • Chief Boring

ot so. GM still owes us 40 billion dollars. Ford took no subsidy. The unions won out, while stock holders took a bath. And GM is now building auto plants in China! Seen many Volts on the road? Despite a tax break of $7500 dollars against the 40k price tag, they can’t seel ‘em. The battery company we backed with millions has gone under without building one battery. The batteries are being made in China. Chief Boring

      Dear JohnR:
Would you please make a little fact search before claiming our government has been repaid. For instance, check the price per share of GM stock that was used as collateral for all those billions of dollars – then check the price per share today. The US government is now holding basketsful of virtually worthless stock, losing BILLIONS. And the unions who were given preferences are faring quite well.

      • JohnR

I’ve performed more than a “little fact search” on the topic. $40B, etc? Check your med’s – did Rush slip you a little of his Oxy?. And/or Google “auto bailout” – there are about a bazillion articles that, when factual, will tell you the same thing. Apparently, all the naysayers here don’t read/listen/watch anything that presents objective analysis, that thing the rest of us call “reality”.

    1. I really dislike the moderator. If he gives another “what if …” question I’m going back to the ball game in which my team is currently winning 7-0. I’d learn more from the game. At least the statistics are correct.

    2. I trust neither one of them completely. I think both have faulty math at their disposal. I hear the middle class is going to be paying 1 to 2 thousand more in IRS collections. 16 300 000 people paying 1000 dollars gives the government not enough money to pay the interest.

    3. Obama’s math is no better. In September 180,000,00 dollars by 1.8 million people means that each contributer gave 100 dollars each not 53 as the Obama campaign claimed. It is no surprise to me that America has money problems. Anyone who can’t divide a teen 14 digit number by a mid 9 digit number, can’t know the severity of the debt.

  • sage_brush

Egomaniac -absolutely. Classic narcissistic personality. Contrast the sneer on the left side, to the genuine smile on the right. Obama is shriller than any of the “ladies” on “The View.” A harpy.

  • JohnR

    Dear Waye Allyn Root:

Do you have a single intelligent thing to say? You are an embarrassment to the Republican Party.

    • JamesP

One thing to remember.. Wayne is a libertarian at heart.
We became a great country because of our founding father’s vision.

      • http://www.facebook.com/timothy.e.wall Timothy E. Wall

Oh, come on! How is it Libertarian, to want to make the United States of America a sock puppet for Israel, or for any other foreign country? You’re no better informed or oriented to reality, than our host Mr. Root is.
On the other hand, there’s no call to label Wayne here “an embarrassment to the Republican Party”. Romney is the Embarrasser in Chief of the GOP, and Wayne is very small beer next to the Great Paperclip Salesman.
        Hope you enjoyed the evening.

    • http://none marv

Dear John, you are indeed impressed with yourself but it is unlikely anyone else is. You are an embarrassment to yourself and that is the way it should be. So carry on, babble, babble, babble. You are well worth ignoring.

      • JohnR

        So…ignore.

However, since you’re here, I’ll mention that this was my first time on this site, and with the flurry of Root’s tweets on the left hand side of the page, while commenters streamed down the right hand side, I was trying to find out if Root was paying attention to the commenters. Apparently not, but hard to tell. As it is, Root is setting an extremely low bar. Dumb and negative isn’t very interesting.

I really was stunned by the many base, personal attacks, mudslinging, and almost complete absence of issues – just a lot of huffing and puffing, and nasty, humorless little arguments about nothing – on both sides of the page.

Which brings us to you, here. I wasn’t talking to you. Doesn’t it strike you as a bit conflicted that you are sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong to tell me you’re ignoring me because I’m a self-absorbed [expletive deleted] who only deserves to be ignored? LOL!. I’m an old retired guy; I don’t go around insulting people just for the h*ll of it, like you. Rude, uncivilized, discourteous, unnecessary. A little, sad, really. What’s your point? Does it make you feel better, bigger?

As a senior citizen, I remember when even the nastiest electoral race demanded that the candidates discuss issues, and take up positions on national and international events. We had some formidable Republicans who could, and did, discuss, argue, fight, and solve problems at a high level. Would it be so tough for you to study, lean, think, and discuss issues surrounding the leader of the free world, and our national civic life? Or is it all just “babble, babble, babble” to you?

    MITT,VERY ENCOURAGING AND HOPEFUL…AMEN

  • Joe

Mitt Romney mopped the floor with Barry. Sadly, Romney lacks the libertarian principles that this country was founded. If elected, government will grow, debt will increase and we will be in more unconstitutional wars. Mitt is a little less bad than Barry, but he will not address the real problems. That will be for another candidate another day.

    • Judy

I disagree, he actually knows how to balance a budget, I don’t think Obama knows what one is because he’s never had to do one, because he’s never ran anything, and then what do we do but let him have control over the biggest budget in the world, ours. What a big stinkin mistake

  • Judy

Does Obama even know how to tell the truth and what he really wants to do to this country, of course not, he’d be thrown out on his tush. I can’t wait to watch him and Michelle pack their bags, someone better watch so they don’t steal some of our stuff.

    • Jack Worthington

Amen. But don’t think that Romney & Ryan can fix the problem. They can’t. The fiat currency/credit syststem is the root cause and they refuse to address it. I wish them good fortune but history teaches that such systems end in catastrophe.

      • http://BobLivingston Sylvia Trainor

Good Comment Jack! Hey People! It’s time to wake up from a dream! Our economy is so bad and really no one can fix it. Large Corporations are throwing lot’s of money into the Federal Reserve, and Stock Market and the Dow isn’t actually 13,000 points. They are superficially inflating it. The true amount should be around 8,000 or less. Just figure out the charts! Anyone can do it! We are already in debt and it’s getting worse but the rich just don’t want to give up the fight but it’s coming to an end! Peace will prevail again when “We The People” are on equal rights and equality to all again!

        • JohnR

Thank you. We’ve entered a new Gilded Age, with the same conditions that lead to the Great Depression. In part, we are caught in this: Institutionally-supported massive, and increasing, income inequality, leading to huge amounts of capital looking for places to invest, leading to a huge asset bubble. The bubble inevitably bursts, and the economy fails. Hello, 2008. Obama averted a worldwide crash. However, the underlying conditions still exist, including the stasis in markets and new investment that the Fed is exasperating with “free” money.

      • http://none marv

Jack, your right on but Romney may have time to address this starting with auditing the Fed then using that info to get congress to end the Fed. Anyone that has studied fiat currency knows there is no good ending, we need a gold standard.

The real important issue with this debate is not how either the right or the left interpets who won or who lost but how the puppet masters “feel” their guys won voters’ hearts (forget their minds) and how to best direct the election’s outcome in a race so evenly split.

Mr. Obama, will you need help packing? You got stomped in all three debates! After 4 years and some still cannot make up their mind? Anyone in America should be able to run against Obama and win without any political ad! Four more years of Obama and our problems cannot be fixed!

      • http://BobLivingston Sylvia Trainor

Thank You! Damon. Yes! Obama will win! No doubt!

      • Glynda Coyle

He will only win if people overlook his record. His foreign policy leaves a lot to be desired…the lack of security for the embassy, his slight of the Israeli, his bowing to foreign dignitaries. and his apologies to Muslim nations. He has increased the number of those on food stamps, he has increased the number for those on Medicaid/Medicare, and is trying to decrease TRICARE for the veterans who have served to preserve our freedoms. He is destroying Social Security while paying for Obamacare with the money he takes from Social Security. WE will be paying more in taxes in January because of Obamacare! His 2-year policy of more money for the unemployed has encouraged people to not seek employment. As a result, the number of those unemployed has dropped because they no longer seek employment. Give Romney the chance to prove the last four years were not what we needed and his plan can help us to have a better standard of living and a premier place in foreign diplomacy again..

        • JohnR

Sadly, room here does not permit a careful refutation of your post. Even more sadly, everything you say is either a distortion of reality, or a silly, baseless fabrication. And even more disastrously for you and yours, you’re missing the giant elephants in the room:

Regulatory capture; the rise of global-wide corporatocracy, including the industrial/military/political corruption, also known as fascism, in this country; our infrastructure in need of ~$2T in renovations; our crazy debt; our failed education system; our entry into a new Gilded Age, with its concurrent huge, and growing level, of socially and (macro) economically destructive income inequality…and on and on.

Open your eyes. Massive amounts of factual data and analysis are available in the same place where you are reading this – do a little reading.

      • THOK CHUNI YOK KUAI

Obama,Obama will win really with out doubt.

      • diderot

To John R: nice encapsulation. Regards

  • http://N/A Ira Sterling

I do not understandwhy no one has brought to light the fact that President Bush tried 17 times to halt the failure of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, but the congress and the Senate vetoed his atempts each time. Likewise, with the banking industry and Wall Street. All these areas had been put under the control of Barney Frank and Chris Dodd when the Democrats took control of both houses in January 2007. Therefore Obama did not inheret a Bush disaster, but rather a disastewr caused by himself and the rest of the democrats.

  • http://BobLivingston Sylvia Trainor

I will NOT be voting for Romney. There are so many people that are suffering not just because of jobs but also from greedy corporations that want to make themselves richer. How can they live with themselves when a bigger part of the population is homeless, hungry and can’t even get medical care. WAKE UP PEOPLE! If we went to World War III in the U.S. who would better deal with the responsibilities of handling a war? OBAMA! He is decisive, he doesn’t sugar coat anything, he tells it plain and simplewhat it is. Romney, is not a bad person but people just can’t relate to him. He’s all over the place never the same view points. He’s kinda Bi-Polar if you ask me.

    • curmudgeonlyone

Blindness sucks ‘cuz you just can’t see it.

      • Glynda Coyle

Obama tells you what you want to hear: Romney tells it like it is.

    • Donald J.

I’m sorry Sylvia but must have missed something over the last 4+ years (yes 4+) as I not seen him take much responsibility as everything wrong was always someone or something else’s fault. Positive common sense decisions have been missing since this Administration took office ie Syria and Holders gun smuggling fiasco getting swept under the rug along with the stockholders of GM. However it does appear he takes credit when someone else sets up and takes out Osama Bin Laden. You are apparantley unaware that the unemployment numbers are much higher than reported as the situation has gone one way to long without the proper leadership in Washington (too much time for golf, I guess). I’m going to guess you are a product of the Government run Education System, probably work in the government system at some level and definetley you have not read “The Naked Communist” researched and written by W Cleon Skousen first published in 1958.

      • JohnR

Sorry, no space here to refute your wild – though original, I believe – distortions and outright fabrications. I have references to balanced, factual, nonpartisan analyses that blow your, um, stuff away. Do your own work: I challenge you to Google a little bit, and find out what’s actually happening out there in the real world.

Congratulations, though, on some very original assertions.

    • Don

WTF do you live? What ever your are on please send me some, it must be really good stuff. If Obama wins enjoy your time on earth, because it will not be long. You do realize Sylvia, you sound stupider tan your dear leader?

      • JohnR

What an intelligent, sophisticated discussion of real issues: Call someone “stupider”. Where did you say the stupid is here?

    • Pat Autry

Sylvia, you need to learn all you can about Obama. You sound like you are jealous of Romney because he has millions. He earned it. He has a good business plan for all Americans. Obama has a plan to totally dominate the United States of America AND WE THE PEOPLE. Something that is never brought up. Obama is and has been illegally President of these United States. He is not an American citizen as he claimed, he is not a Christian as he claimed denied that he is a Muslim, worships and prays and recognizes the Muslim Brotherhood. There isn’t enough time and room to tell all about all the continuing lies he tells. DO NOT VOTE FOR OBAMA NOW OR EVER.

      • JohnR

        Oh Pat:

The kooky birther thing AGAIN? And Muslim? Silly you, this garbage has all been debunked. Google it.

Please, let’s talk about real issues, not character assignation founded in irrational thought. In the aggregate, your goofy assertions have all been beat to death; they usually mask hatred and racism, and only thinly, at that. It’s getting old. Normal people don’t go into rants about crap like this. Stay away from my grandchildren.

Your apparently compelling need to be disrespectful and base may well have caused you to miss Sylvia’s point. There is nothing in what she says, nor even a whiff of an implication, that she is jealous of wealth. (Projection, Pat?)

Clearly, Sylvia is addressing income inequality, a present, and growing, danger as we reach levels of it not seen since just before the Great Depression. Thoughtful, insightful people on the right, left, and everywhere in between are starting to bring this economic, political, and social evil into mainstream consciousness. For an excellent, brief Ted Talk on the subject, please see “How Economic Inequality Harms Societies” at

Thats why I’m voting for Romney/Rayn 2012!!!and anyone else with any brains at all ,by all meansshould ,do the same!!!!

  • Glynda Coyle

In dealing with foreign diplomacy, from my personal interaction with foreign nationals, I believe that Romney’s style of cool, calm deliberation will be more influential and effective with foreign governments than all of Obama’s bluster and loud rhetoric.

    • JohnR

I would suggest that personal style is not the primary factor in effecting a solid foreign policy. However, Obama is widely called “no drama Obama”, and this moniker suits both his method of decision making, as well as his demeanor.

      • Glynda Coyle

No drama….the interruptions; the loud over talking.

        • JohnR

          (1) Who should we elect?

Below, I reply to your post about relative rudeness at the third Presidential Debate. But frankly, Glynda, at this point I don’t think it matters which candidate exhibited less grace in the third Presidential Debate. Or the first two debates. At this point, we need to look to the next four years, and ask who is going to better restore healthy capitalism amd democratic politics to the USA.

I’m not keen on Obama. I almost started to like Romney, but I can’t get past Mitt’s mendacity – his fungible positions, half-truths, distortions, and general willingness to say anything to get a vote. And then there’s his draconian gutting of the already frayed social safety net to give yet another tax break to the uber-rich; regressive moves on women’s health; a-chicken-in-every-pot budget that he says – trust me – I can only show you after the election; failed Bush economics policies (hello 2008); warmongering Neo-cons setting foreign policy, an area in which Romney just doesn’t seem to have any ability…it just goes on and on. God, I wish we had a good Republican candidate. But we don’t. We’ve got an incredibly BAD candidate, who, if you’re not making several million dollars – or more – will do you serious harm. How much money do you make, Glynda? Expect serious harm to the country. On 10/27/12, The New York Times picked Obama in an Editorial titled “Barack Obama for Re-election” at

          http://www.nytimes.com/2012/10/28/opinion/sunday/barack-obama-for-president.html?pagewanted=1&_r=1&nl=todaysheadlines&emc=edit_th_20121028.

I read the best right wing websites, but, gotta’ say, The Times is balanced and correct in this Editorial.

          (2) Debate Rudeness:

Rudeness seems to be a quality that we appraise in the the most subjective terms possible. It must always be evaluated in context, and even then, there is no fail-proof way to say what is proper in a given situation. So, let’s talk context for a minute. Then, I’d like to suggest a more important quality that we should consider – honesty.

In the first debate, as I think you’d agree, Romney literally blew Obama and Jim Lehrer, the 78-year old moderator, right off the stage. Mitt was very, very animated, and repeatedly talked over the other guys – he just wouldn’t stop talking. “No drama Obama” was so no-drama, he got ground into the stage. And, though the pundits went on and on, it was agreed in a thousand different ways that Mitt won the debate. His “aggressive” strategy worked great.

The second debate was too close to call.

In the lead-up to the third debate, the pundits said that Obama had to get aggressive in a way he doesn’t like – and apparently isn’t good at – or maybe lose the election right then and there. In the debate, I repeatedly heard Obama insist on a brief objection when he said Mitt was incorrect/wrong, and then Obama would shut up until Bob Schieffer, the moderator, gave him the nod to talk. Obama got annoying. The pundits say Obama won the third debate. But, DID Mitt tell such egregious lies that Obama HAD to jump in, or risk losing the election on the spot?

I checked four fact-checking sites. I kept looking for a site that had a reputation for being fair, and that would also give me a nice, neat comparative score. No luck. So I gave up after looking at four, but I tried to develop an objective weighted-average truth index from the four sites for each candidate. That didn’t work, either. So, you can accept MY TWO-SENTENCE SUMMARY OF THE COMPARATIVE LACK OF GRACE EXHIBITED BY OUR TWO PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES IN THEIR THIRD DEBATE below, and/or see (1) “The Washington Post” at

          http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/fact-checker/post/fact-checking-the-third-presidential-debate/2012/10/23/91dbdc4a-1c61-11e2-ba31-3083ca97c314_blog.html

MY TWO-SENTENCE SUMMARY OF THE COMPARATIVE LACK OF GRACE EXHIBITED BY OUR TWO PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES IN THEIR THIRD DEBATE:

Both candidates shaded the truth more than they should – nobody seems able to avoid campaign rhetoric completely (can’t win on the truth in today’s world, I guess). Mitt told a few whoppers; Obama didn’t.

        • JohnR

Yes, agreed. All the pundits said Obama lost the first debate due to Romney’s “aggressive” tactic of talking right past Obama AND the moderator, Jim Lehrer. Nobody could stop Mitt. The talking heads also said that Obama had to counter Romney in the third debate, or risk losing the race right there. Weird, but it was as if someone needed to teach Obama how to argue. The “no drama” thing apparently isn’t all good.

  • http://None Wild Bill

Unlike previous debates, Ali-Obama’s answers were too smooth, can’t help to think that Bob Schafer supplied O with a cheat sheet… after all Obama is the darling of the far left fifth column news media and Obama is loosing and in need of a good showing….

  • Glynda Coyle

You know guys, it doesn’t matter which party got us into this mess. It only matters who can get us out. Do you believe that Romney can get America going again? Do you believe he can get small businesses working again and everyone working in a meaningful job…then the choice is clear. If you think this influences foreign governments then…your choice is clear. Romney is for US, the small, neglected, middle class.

    • JohnR

I wish Mitt could do it. Unfortunately, the Dem’s are correct: The GOP’s numbers do NOT add up. Hence, Mitt’s promises have no foundation in fact. More dangerous, Mitt still believes that trickle-down, or supply side, economics will work. We now clearly know that it will not. According to the best nonpartisan analyses, if Mitt is allowed to do what he promises, the only thing that can give is the deficit, which will skyrocket.

Further, Ryan’s draconian budget would eviscerate what’s left of the social safety net for everyone below the super-rich. His income redistribution, via taxes, from the middle class to the very rich, is unconscionable. And the hit on the already-struggling middle class, and fragile economic recovery, will do irreparable damage.

We’re on the cusp of an accelerating recovery from the Great Recession. The EU remains in economic turmoil, and can take us down. China’s growth is slowing. And so on – there are few bright spots in the world economy. Conversely, stories of worldwide economic weakness go on and on. The only rational conclusion for us: Dislike Obama all you want, but his policies are working, if slowly. Romney would put us in reverse – to put it mildly – with failed, anti-growth policies. I wish there was a better choice, but we must stick with what is working, or we will most likely be staring again, as in 2008, into the abyss.

I know you must be talking about Obama, RIGHT?????

      • Pat Autry

I think you don’t really know what Obama is up to. His plan is to make THE U.S. a muslim, socialist country, have the federal goverment totally control our lives, let Iran build the Neuc Bomb, go with Russia, in whatever plans they have for us. Obamacare will totally destroy the medical system, and medicare, and social security will be history. Surely you don’t think that would be better than Mitt Romney’s plan. WAKE UP !!!

        • JohnR

          Hi Pat:

As expressed elsewhere in these gentle comments, I did just “WAKE UP!!”……..to your strange and wacky views. Do you talk about anything firmly rooted in fact and objective reality? Close to rationality? Oh, I’m so sorry, I’d better let you go. It’s probably time for your meds, and a nice, relaxing nap.

ps: Are you wearing your tinfoil hat right now? Just wondering.

      • http://none marv

Obama’s only job a community organizer, a puppet for the many appointed Democrats with the answers for a successful communist economy at last. What do you know? Doesn’t work here either!
Romney, a man of success in many areas and especially creating jobs, who understands free enterprise and economics, has been a successful administrator and understands you can’t get anywhere pushing a rope, we must pull together, even a Democrat should not have a problem seeing who should be President

        • JohnR

Let’s agree that the Dem’s aren’t good for much of anything. The GOP, including Romney/Ryan, is deeply compromised by the Party’s extremists. And both parties are corrupted by regulatory capture, and the money that has turned our democracy into a corporatocracy.

I’d like to trust Mitt, but his duplicity and mendacity alone rule him out as Presidential material. Add to this R/R’s crazy plan to further decimate the middle and lower classes to give yet another tax break to the uber-rich – while deeply damaging income inequality is already soaring – and electing him would be crazy. Especially when he cannot show that his budget plan will do anything other than add ~$5T (or whatever – what’s a couple trillion either way among friends?) to the deficit, while raising taxes on the middle class. If you’re not making several million dollars per year, or more, Mitt’s NOT your man. If you’re brown, black, or female, Mitt’s not your man.

Education is failing, our national infrastructure needs $2T or more in repairs like right now, China and others will pull away from us if we don’t increase R&D, the social safety net has been pillaged by the Great Recession, 1 in 5 children live in poverty, and on and on. What will R/R do about these problems? Gut the programs to give the super-rich even bigger tax breaks.

Mitt has so far shown no skill or understanding in foreign affairs – instead, he keeps making really dumb, awkward, semi-scary moves. Mitt’s a smart, driven guy, but his business experience is in a single area of finance – Private Equity, (PE) – we called it leveraged Buyout, LBO in the 1980′s. Again, Mitt knows PE – think finance, like banking. This isn’t the same as running a business of any size, small to global corporation. Mitt has no idea how to do it.

Obama? He’s shown solid foreign policy ability. He’s cut taxes for the middle class and small business. Obamacare helps 30 million people, and that’s fabulous and all. But I sure hope there will be a Phase II that reigns in costs – not a do-over as Mitt wants. That’s just more expense to go backwards and really make a mess.

Obama has had 72 days of Dem control over both houses over the last 4 years. Yup – 2 months plus one day. During the other 46 months, he’s had total Republican obstruction, but accomplished a few things. He made the right moves to stunt the Great Recession. Housing, growth in GDP, unemployment: All major indexes are telling us that the economy is really starting to hum, though it’s still fragile. Europe could tank, and take us down, growth in China is softening. So, I think we’ve got no choice but to stay with what’s working, hope that this election shakes up Congress enough – it probably will – to jab them into action.

Hold your nose if you need to, but Obama’s all we’ve got.

I didn’t ask for it, but I received a link to a surprisingly good video that, in 17 minutes, does a superb job of presenting a factual, quantitative analysis of the big issues that ail us, and, in broad terms, suggests what we need to do to get back to healthy capitalism and democratic politics. The ending caught me by surprise, even though the logic that gets you there is tight. The video is on YouTube at

I’m voting for Gary Johnson, the Libertarian candidate for prez. He’s in it for “We the People” and will uphold the U.S. Constitution. Ain’t no way I’d vote for either of the two who agreed to be a puppet for the global elitist billionaires.

  • Glynda Coyle

The Feds MUST stop printing currency! We must cover in gold what we print. The Christians do no have the last say. I am a Christian and I believe we must do what needs to be done for all of our brothers. We all believe in a “God..” He/She is a God of the People. Look deep into your hearts and and decide who can humanely and spiritually lead us ALL. We are a people united.

Do you realize that when you type in all cap’s on the Internet, it is considered to be shouting, and is often considered to be rude? Given this, plus the extreme and completely unsupportable content of your post, I think a reasonably educated, informed, and objective reader would conclude that YOU ARE A STRANGE AND CRAZY WING NUT. Just thought you should know.

      • diderot

Apologies, didnt know about the caps. Just wanted the referenced material to stand out amongst crowd. Regards

      • Pat Autry

Doesn’t matter about the caps. What he is saying is true. If the muslims take over, and that is obama/s plan, our world is gone.
And he was right if shouting, to make everyone notice and read.

        • JohnR

Gosh, Pat, if you say it’s true, then it must be true.

YOU’RE NOT JUST FOOLIN’ WITH ME, R U NOW, PAT!!!!!

ps: FYI, and this is meant to help you and your blood pressure: One aspect of the Internet is its ubiquity in leveling access and content from/to nearly everyone. On this stage, it is notably important to avoid discourteous behavior such as shouting. Do it enough, and people stop listening.

We have billions/trillions of other places to go; why should we put up with your rudeness? (click) and you and your nastiness and insults are gone. Easy. Someone else will be making your point better, because they will gain and hold our attention on the strength of their arguments and presentation, not by trying to coerce us.

Well-well– dumbed down masses have put behind the wheel of a Ferrari-Testa Rossa a blind man and he has gone off the road. It’s going to take a long time to get back on the road – a replica of the Germany Weimar Republic after the WWI.

Another empire going down in flames!

  • braindeadus

Turn out the lights the party is over for Obama.

    • JohnR

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Brilliant, clever cliche, braindead(!)us. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

But seriously, folks: Obama is 50-years old. Should he not be re-elected, I would imagine the party, for him, is far from over.

You can’t put a band aid on cancer. You have to (vote) cut it out. Goodbye Mr President.

    • JohnR

      Hey Chuck:

Cancer? Really? I have a 15-year old not-too-bright little cousin who can – and does – better than that. Are you 15 or older? Have you completed high school?

    Republicans are a gigantic disaster.
They created the housing bubble and almost ruined the entire usa and world economy.
Bush allowed in more illegals from the south than anyone.
Bush shipped more jobs to Asia than anyone.
Bush et al blew the treasury on two useless wars.
Yes the Democrats are stupid but the only people more stupid than democrats are Republicans lol

    • Pat78

Dems and Repubs. are both disasters especially since they are both controlled by the global elitist billionaires. “All the world’s a stage” as we serve as “useful idiots”… Actually, it was the dems that created the housing bubble. Go look it up. So, why don’t you join those us us who are sane and vote for Gary Johnson? He’s a constitutionalist.

  • Tony Balelo

Hello Alan. Thank you so very much for fighting for America. The American people are not dumb as Obama thinks. No Genuis needed to figure out Obama & his real desires. Bowing to the king, lying about Libya, Obama care dangers, now he claims to love Israel , endorses same sex marriage while claiming to be a Christian, now says he is supporter of energy, what about what he said earlier about the coal industry, campaigned to run a government of transparency, what happen to transparency? On & on & on. To many things to mention. And I’m praying you kick the IRS butt! We know what’s going on. You criticize with your free speech right. And you get an IRS audit twice in a row! Don’t worry Alan we are with you. And we will kick his ass out with our votes! Yours truly . Tony B.
