The Perfect Song If The Immigration Crisis Has You Angry

July 21, 2014 by

Back in 2010, legendary satirical musician Ray Stevens released a song criticizing the Obama Administration’s immigration policies. The 3-minute, 19 second “Come to the USA” has since garnered more than 8 million views on YouTube— and Steven’s criticisms are more prescient than ever.

At one point, Stevens sings:

Come to the USA.

It will be your lucky day

‘Cause when you get in there’s lots of goodies waitin’

Like health care, welfare, free education,

Help with your voter registration

And driver’s license and credit card.

And license plates for your old car.

Other than irritating a few liberals, the song got little fanfare following its release. It’s now making a resurgence in the conservative blogosphere— and for good reason.
