Pelosi, Congressional Delegation Take Heat For $1 Million Climate Summit Trip

February 3, 2010 by

Pelosi, congressional delegation take heat for $1 million climate summit trip Although the climate summit in Copenhagen took place in December, it has recently emerged that the large congressional delegation headed by Nancy Pelosi charged taxpayers some $1 million for the trip.

Newly filed congressional expense reports indicated that more than 150 people—including legislators, staff and even some family members—made the trip at a cost of $2,200 a day, CBS News reported.

Further CBS investigation found that 59 House and Senate staff flew commercial to the Danish capital, costing taxpayers $408,064, while the rest used three military jets, which cost $168,351 for the flight time.

This type of spending in the face of an escalating federal deficit and during a prolonged recession has spurred critics to question the judgment of the congressional leadership.

CNN‘s Jack Cafferty wrote that "we have skyrocketing deficits and national debt in this country," and asked "where Nancy Pelosi gets her sense of entitlement to simply blow hundreds of thousands of dollars of our money at Christmas time so she and her colleagues can take a little trip to Copenhagen."

According to media reports, Pelosi has refused to answer journalists’ queries about the Copenhagen expenses and explain why the congressional delegation ended up being so large.

Nancy Pelosi belongs in the “nut house”. How else can anything she says or does be justified in whatever mind she might have left. This woman leads our Congress and she is just plain nuts.

    • DaveH

She is in the Nut House, Jeff. It’s called San Francisco.

      • American Citizen

        Nah, it’s called Congress.

          545 vs. 320,000,000

          545 Politicians

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.
Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don’t propose a federal budget. The president does.

You and I don’t have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.

You and I don’t write the tax code, Congress does.

You and I don’t set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You and I don’t control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason.. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don’t care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator’s responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.
What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits.. The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? Nancy Pelosi. She is the leader of the majority party. She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted — by present facts — of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can’t think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it’s because they want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it’s because they want it in the red..

If the Army & Marines are in IRAQ, it’s because they want them in IRAQ

If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it’s because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like “the economy,” “inflation,” or “politics” that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.

They, and they alone, have the power.

They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses.

Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.

We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

What you do with this article now that you have read it………. Is up to you This might be funny if it weren’t so darned true.

            Well said.

I just wish there were more people who understood this.

    • JeffH

Just a reminder of how NUTS she is:
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) defended Congress’ work on a healthcare bill saying the process has displayed historic transparency, just as C-SPAN mounts an effort to open the negotiations. C-SPAN wrote a letter to congressional leaders Tuesday asking that TV cameras be allowed .

      • s c

JeffH, ALL ultralib progressives use the same worthless dictionary. In that dictionary, transparency is always defined one way. The next time you can tolerate being around one of them, ask them what it means. They’ll tell you it means “whatever WE want it to mean.”
It’s the same with obummer, biden, pelosi, reid, waxman, dodd, durbin, byrd, gore, bubba clinton, hillary, carter and all other ultraliberal progressives. They don’t care what anyone else thinks. As long as they ALWAYS get their way, they’re fairly happy (and they dare to wonder how we know they’re all liars and are sorely in need of long-term, medicated therapy).

Judicial Watch Announces List of Washington’s “Ten Most Wanted Corrupt Politicians” for 2009
      Contact Information:
      Press Office 202-646-5172, ext 305

      Washington, DC
Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, today released its 2009 list of Washington’s “Ten Most Wanted Corrupt Politicians.” The list, in alphabetical order, includes:

Senator Christopher Dodd (D-CT): This marks two years in a row for Senator Dodd, who made the 2008 “Ten Most Corrupt” list for his corrupt relationship with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and for accepting preferential treatment and loan terms from Countrywide Financial, a scandal which still dogs him. In 2009, the scandals kept coming for the Connecticut Democrat. In 2009, Judicial Watch filed a Senate ethics complaint against Dodd for undervaluing a property he owns in Ireland on his Senate Financial Disclosure forms. Judicial Watch’s complaint forced Dodd to amend the forms. However, press reports suggest the property to this day remains undervalued. Judicial Watch also alleges in the complaint that Dodd obtained a sweetheart deal for the property in exchange for his assistance in obtaining a presidential pardon (during the Clinton administration) and other favors for a long-time friend and business associate. The false financial disclosure forms were part of the cover-up. Dodd remains the head the Senate Banking Committee.

Senator John Ensign (R-NV): A number of scandals popped up in 2009 involving public officials who conducted illicit affairs, and then attempted to cover them up with hush payments and favors, an obvious abuse of power. The year’s worst offender might just be Nevada Republican Senator John Ensign. Ensign admitted in June to an extramarital affair with the wife of one of his staff members, who then allegedly obtained special favors from the Nevada Republican in exchange for his silence. According to The New York Times: “The Justice Department and the Senate Ethics Committee are expected to conduct preliminary inquiries into whether Senator John Ensign violated federal law or ethics rules as part of an effort to conceal an affair with the wife of an aide…” The former staffer, Douglas Hampton, began to lobby Mr. Ensign’s office immediately upon leaving his congressional job, despite the fact that he was subject to a one-year lobbying ban. Ensign seems to have ignored the law and allowed Hampton lobbying access to his office as a payment for his silence about the affair. (These are potentially criminal offenses.) It looks as if Ensign misused his public office (and taxpayer resources) to cover up his sexual shenanigans.

Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA): Judicial Watch is investigating a $12 million TARP cash injection provided to the Boston-based OneUnited Bank at the urging of Massachusetts Rep. Barney Frank. As reported in the January 22, 2009, edition of the Wall Street Journal, the Treasury Department indicated it would only provide funds to healthy banks to jump-start lending. Not only was OneUnited Bank in massive financial turmoil, but it was also “under attack from its regulators for allegations of poor lending practices and executive-pay abuses, including owning a Porsche for its executives’ use.” Rep. Frank admitted he spoke to a “federal regulator,” and Treasury granted the funds. (The bank continues to flounder despite Frank’s intervention for federal dollars.) Moreover, Judicial Watch uncovered documents in 2009 that showed that members of Congress for years were aware that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were playing fast and loose with accounting issues, risk assessment issues and executive compensation issues, even as liberals led by Rep. Frank continued to block attempts to rein in the two Government Sponsored Enterprises (GSEs). For example, during a hearing on September 10, 2003, before the House Committee on Financial Services considering a Bush administration proposal to further regulate Fannie and Freddie, Rep. Frank stated: “I want to begin by saying that I am glad to consider the legislation, but I do not think we are facing any kind of a crisis. That is, in my view, the two Government Sponsored Enterprises we are talking about here, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, are not in a crisis. We have recently had an accounting problem with Freddie Mac that has led to people being dismissed, as appears to be appropriate. I do not think at this point there is a problem with a threat to the Treasury.” Frank received $42,350 in campaign contributions from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac between 1989 and 2008. Frank also engaged in a relationship with a Fannie Mae Executive while serving on the House Banking Committee, which has jurisdiction over Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Secretary of Treasury Timothy Geithner: In 2009, Obama Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner admitted that he failed to pay $34,000 in Social Security and Medicare taxes from 2001-2004 on his lucrative salary at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), an organization with 185 member countries that oversees the global financial system. (Did we mention Geithner now runs the IRS?) It wasn’t until President Obama tapped Geithner to head the Treasury Department that he paid back most of the money, although the IRS kindly waived the hefty penalties. In March 2009, Geithner also came under fire for his handling of the AIG bonus scandal, where the company used $165 million of its bailout funds to pay out executive bonuses, resulting in a massive public backlash. Of course as head of the New York Federal Reserve, Geithner helped craft the AIG deal in September 2008. However, when the AIG scandal broke, Geithner claimed he knew nothing of the bonuses until March 10, 2009. The timing is important. According to CNN: “Although Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner told congressional leaders on Tuesday that he learned of AIG’s impending $160 million bonus payments to members of its troubled financial-products unit on March 10, sources tell TIME that the New York Federal Reserve informed Treasury staff that the payments were imminent on Feb. 28. That is ten days before Treasury staffers say they first learned ‘full details’ of the bonus plan, and three days before the [Obama] Administration launched a new $30 billion infusion of cash for AIG.” Throw in another embarrassing disclosure in 2009 that Geithner employed “household help” ineligible to work in the United States, and it becomes clear why the Treasury Secretary has earned a spot on the “Ten Most Corrupt Politicians in Washington” list.

Attorney General Eric Holder: Tim Geithner can be sure he won’t be hounded about his tax-dodging by his colleague Eric Holder, US Attorney General. Judicial Watch strongly opposed Holder because of his terrible ethics record, which includes: obstructing an FBI investigation of the theft of nuclear secrets from Los Alamos Nuclear Laboratory; rejecting multiple requests for an independent counsel to investigate alleged fundraising abuses by then-Vice President Al Gore in the Clinton White House; undermining the criminal investigation of President Clinton by Kenneth Starr in the midst of the Lewinsky investigation; and planning the violent raid to seize then-six-year-old Elian Gonzalez at gunpoint in order to return him to Castro’s Cuba. Moreover, there is his soft record on terrorism. Holder bypassed Justice Department procedures to push through Bill Clinton’s scandalous presidential pardons and commutations, including for 16 members of FALN, a violent Puerto Rican terrorist group that orchestrated approximately 120 bombings in the United States, killing at least six people and permanently maiming dozens of others, including law enforcement officers. His record in the current administration is no better. As he did during the Clinton administration, Holder continues to ignore serious incidents of corruption that could impact his political bosses at the White House. For example, Holder has refused to investigate charges that the Obama political machine traded VIP access to the White House in exchange for campaign contributions – a scheme eerily similar to one hatched by Holder’s former boss, Bill Clinton in the 1990s. The Holder Justice Department also came under fire for dropping a voter intimidation case against the New Black Panther Party. On Election Day 2008, Black Panthers dressed in paramilitary garb threatened voters as they approached polling stations. Holder has also failed to initiate a comprehensive Justice investigation of the notorious organization ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now), which is closely tied to President Obama. There were allegedly more than 400,000 fraudulent ACORN voter registrations in the 2008 campaign. And then there were the journalist videos catching ACORN Housing workers advising undercover reporters on how to evade tax, immigration, and child prostitution laws. Holder’s controversial decisions on new rights for terrorists and his attacks on previous efforts to combat terrorism remind many of the fact that his former law firm has provided and continues to provide pro bono representation to terrorists at Guantanamo Bay. Holder’s politicization of the Justice Department makes one long for the days of Alberto Gonzales.

Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. (D-IL)/ Senator Roland Burris (D-IL): One of the most serious scandals of 2009 involved a scheme by former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich to sell President Obama’s then-vacant Senate seat to the highest bidder. Two men caught smack dab in the middle of the scandal: Senator Roland Burris, who ultimately got the job, and Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, emissaries for Jesse Jackson Jr., named “Senate Candidate A” in the Blagojevich indictment, reportedly offered $1.5 million to Blagojevich during a fundraiser if he named Jackson Jr. to Obama’s seat. Three days later federal authorities arrested Blagojevich. Burris, for his part, apparently lied about his contacts with Blagojevich, who was arrested in December 2008 for trying to sell Obama’s Senate seat. According to Reuters: “Roland Burris came under fresh scrutiny…after disclosing he tried to raise money for the disgraced former Illinois governor who named him to the U.S. Senate seat once held by President Barack Obama…In the latest of those admissions, Burris said he looked into mounting a fundraiser for Rod Blagojevich — later charged with trying to sell Obama’s Senate seat — at the same time he was expressing interest to the then-governor’s aides about his desire to be appointed.” Burris changed his story five times regarding his contacts with Blagojevich prior to the Illinois governor appointing him to the U.S. Senate. Three of those changing explanations came under oath.

President Barack Obama: During his presidential campaign, President Obama promised to run an ethical and transparent administration. However, in his first year in office, the President has delivered corruption and secrecy, bringing Chicago-style political corruption to the White House. Consider just a few Obama administration “lowlights” from year one: Even before President Obama was sworn into office, he was interviewed by the FBI for a criminal investigation of former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich’s scheme to sell the President’s former Senate seat to the highest bidder. (Obama’s Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel and slumlord Valerie Jarrett, both from Chicago, are also tangled up in the Blagojevich scandal.) Moreover, the Obama administration made the startling claim that the Privacy Act does not apply to the White House. The Obama White House believes it can violate the privacy rights of American citizens without any legal consequences or accountability. President Obama boldly proclaimed that “transparency and the rule of law will be the touchstones of this presidency,” but his administration is addicted to secrecy, stonewalling far too many of Judicial Watch’s Freedom of Information Act requests and is refusing to make public White House visitor logs as federal law requires. The Obama administration turned the National Endowment of the Arts (as well as the agency that runs the AmeriCorps program) into propaganda machines, using tax dollars to persuade “artists” to promote the Obama agenda. According to documents uncovered by Judicial Watch, the idea emerged as a direct result of the Obama campaign and enjoyed White House approval and participation. President Obama has installed a record number of “czars” in positions of power. Too many of these individuals are leftist radicals who answer to no one but the president. And too many of the czars are not subject to Senate confirmation (which raises serious constitutional questions). Under the President’s bailout schemes, the federal government continues to appropriate or control — through fiat and threats — large sectors of the private economy, prompting conservative columnist George Will to write: “The administration’s central activity — the political allocation of wealth and opportunity — is not merely susceptible to corruption, it is corruption.” Government-run healthcare and car companies, White House coercion, uninvestigated ACORN corruption, debasing his office to help Chicago cronies, attacks on conservative media and the private sector, unprecedented and dangerous new rights for terrorists, perks for campaign donors – this is Obama’s “ethics” record — and we haven’t even gotten through the first year of his presidency.

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA): At the heart of the corruption problem in Washington is a sense of entitlement. Politicians believe laws and rules (even the U.S. Constitution) apply to the rest of us but not to them. Case in point: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her excessive and boorish demands for military travel. Judicial Watch obtained documents from the Pentagon in 2008 that suggest Pelosi has been treating the Air Force like her own personal airline. These documents, obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, include internal Pentagon email correspondence detailing attempts by Pentagon staff to accommodate Pelosi’s numerous requests for military escorts and military aircraft as well as the speaker’s 11th hour cancellations and changes. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also came under fire in April 2009, when she claimed she was never briefed about the CIA’s use of the waterboarding technique during terrorism investigations. The CIA produced a report documenting a briefing with Pelosi on September 4, 2002, that suggests otherwise. Judicial Watch also obtained documents, including a CIA Inspector General report, which further confirmed that Congress was fully briefed on the enhanced interrogation techniques. Aside from her own personal transgressions, Nancy Pelosi has ignored serious incidents of corruption within her own party, including many of the individuals on this list. (See Rangel, Murtha, Jesse Jackson, Jr., etc.)

Rep. John Murtha (D-PA) and the rest of the PMA Seven: Rep. John Murtha made headlines in 2009 for all the wrong reasons. The Pennsylvania congressman is under federal investigation for his corrupt relationship with the now-defunct defense lobbyist PMA Group. PMA, founded by a former Murtha associate, has been the congressman’s largest campaign contributor. Since 2002, Murtha has raised $1.7 million from PMA and its clients. And what did PMA and its clients receive from Murtha in return for their generosity? Earmarks — tens of millions of dollars in earmarks. In fact, even with all of the attention surrounding his alleged influence peddling, Murtha kept at it. Following an FBI raid of PMA’s offices earlier in 2009, Murtha continued to seek congressional earmarks for PMA clients, while also hitting them up for campaign contributions. According to The Hill, in April, “Murtha reported receiving contributions from three former PMA clients for whom he requested earmarks in the pending appropriations bills.” When it comes to the PMA scandal, Murtha is not alone. As many as six other Members of Congress are currently under scrutiny according to The Washington Post. They include: Peter J. Visclosky (D-IN.), James P. Moran Jr. (D-VA), Norm Dicks (D-WA.), Marcy Kaptur (D-OH), C.W. Bill Young (R-FL.) and Todd Tiahrt (R-KS.). Of course rather than investigate this serious scandal, according to Roll Call House Democrats circled the wagons, “cobbling together a defense to offer political cover to their rank and file.” The Washington Post also reported in 2009 that Murtha’s nephew received $4 million in Defense Department no-bid contracts: “Newly obtained documents…show Robert Murtha mentioning his influential family connection as leverage in his business dealings and holding unusual power with the military.”

Rep. Charles Rangel (D-NY): Rangel, the man in charge of writing tax policy for the entire country, has yet to adequately explain how he could possibly “forget” to pay taxes on $75,000 in rental income he earned from his off-shore rental property. He also faces allegations that he improperly used his influence to maintain ownership of highly coveted rent-controlled apartments in Harlem, and misused his congressional office to fundraise for his private Rangel Center by preserving a tax loophole for an oil drilling company in exchange for funding. On top of all that, Rangel recently amended his financial disclosure reports, which doubled his reported wealth. (He somehow “forgot” about $1 million in assets.) And what did he do when the House Ethics Committee started looking into all of this? He apparently resorted to making “campaign contributions” to dig his way out of trouble. According to WCBS TV, a New York CBS affiliate: “The reigning member of Congress’ top tax committee is apparently ‘wrangling’ other politicos to get him out of his own financial and tax troubles…Since ethics probes began last year the 79-year-old congressman has given campaign donations to 119 members of Congress, including three of the five Democrats on the House Ethics Committee who are charged with investigating him.” Charlie Rangel should not be allowed to remain in Congress, let alone serve as Chairman of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee, and he knows it. That’s why he felt the need to disburse campaign contributions to Ethics Committee members and other congressional colleagues.

Investigate, investigate, investigate. I’m tired of all the investigations on these UNpatriotic presidents and congressional thieves, liars, radicals and self-serving bastards. Think of all the pension money they will draw after they’ve been voted out.
Take all of them outside, hang them until dead then leave them for an example to others and the buzzards to feast upon. Think how much tax money this would save.

        • Publius

Right on! the crimes of these crooks should be treated as Treason and punished accordingly. A gallows erected at the back entrance of the Capitol would be appropriate.

Sally–now post the garbage for the other “side.” It is called fairness. All politicians are guilty of wrongdoing. BOTH parties. Neither party has qualified leadership. Both parties have the same problems and reputation as far as I am concerned. Both parties need to be cleaned up.

        • Lee M

How about abolishing partisan politics alltogether and make everyone run for office without big party bucks. Me thinks the creme would rise to the top and America would once again rise.

I believe if you would re-read her post you would see that their is a Republican (John Ensign).

Sally, that was a ridiculously long disserataion. Why don’t you just do what Mark Stine, Dick Morris and Glenn Beck et al did and write a book? You’d get a much larger and more influential readership. If you’re going to spend the time it takes to sit here and write this stuff, you may as well get paid the big bucks for it. You are a pretty good writer, but you’re doing it for free. You have the ability
        to go higher.

        • JeffH

Jessica, I’m sure most of it was a simple copy and paste routine. Sometimes it is better to post the link rather than the whole article.

You must mean the liberal Democrats. They’re the ones that always brag about their intelligence, education and the lack of everyone elses.

          • American Citizen

            Isn’t that called plagiarism?

        • Tinwarble

No that is not plagiarism. Plagiarism is when you take credit for someone’s or you don’t give credit for someone’s work. As she said that it came from “Judicial Watch”, it is not plagiarism.

    • thefedupamerican

She’s not nuts, she’s knowingly using the taxpayers to fund her lifestyle. You know, this is her Marie Antoinette moment….remember, while the peasants were starving Marie Antoinette said if the peasants don’t have bread then “let them eat cake!” That kind of disregard for the concerns of the peasants got Marie’s head on the chopping block. We can only hope that Nancy Pelosi’s head is on the proverbial chopping block as well…at the ballot box….in November. And I hope there are enough sensible San Franciscans so that this isn’t just wishful thinking.

      • JeffH

I hope you read my post further below and be sure to send an email to this nut case.

        • Claire

Gosh, I thought everyone knew Pelosi was the President!!!

      • http://none Marsha Hynes

This woman has no concept of how the middle class working person lives and how we cannot do the things she does with our taxes. I do hope she is voted out, we do not need this woman and her selfish ways to be in office!!! Let some sane people run her out of office.

      • Jessica

Fedupamerican, Nancy Pelosi ain’t going nowhere. She’s not up for re-election this November, although she probably will lose her Speaker
Of The House position. She won’t be nearly as powerful as she is now, but she will still be an expensive pain in the taxpayers’ a** until 2012, when we can finally kick her to the curb.

        • AnhydrousBob

How can she not be up for re-election? She’s in the House and house members are re-elected every two years. I’m not sure her constituency will not re-elect her, though.

  • Robert

I believe that the American public should demand reimbursement by all these people. And in the future, if these politicians want to go on expensive junkets, there should be a law stating that they have to pay for it, not the taxpayers. Time to take action and stop the gravy train. Let’s be vocal and demand that our representatives enact a law that stops this abuse. If these people want to go on trips, let them pay for it, not me.

    • LindyMaeUSA

This evil and “HORRIBLE WOMAN!” (as observant Cafferty says!) politician doesn’t answer “journalist’ queries” (or anyone else!) because she knows: SHE DOES’T HAVE TO!

Pelosi was given “absolute free rein” right from the beginning, so WHY would she change her habits now?

After all this time, we’re STILL complaining about her UNLIMITED “Life-Style” at OUR expense?

      • Robert

Hello! I’m talking about all the politicians, not just her.

        • Claire

Robert–I agree with you on this. They ALL should pay their own way.

      • snappysandy

Nancy Pelosi gets away with what she does, because she can. We talk, we complain, we are nauseated by her actions, yet she continues her condesending, unprofessional, unAmerican behavior.

It’s time we stop talking about her and do something about her. Though she represents constituents in San Fransico, she actually represents all of us, because she’s the Speaker of the House. It’s time we start a National Campaign against her. We can do it. Yes, We Can!

        • http://none Marsha Hynes

I agree that she is using the American citzens to live high on the hog as it is said. I am glad others are fed up with her as well so maybe something can be done about her! I loved Cafferty’s statement, “that horrible woman”,right on, Jack!

      • cr747

I guess all of you heard that after the first lady,”if you can call her that,” did her obese commercial for TV she went out to an exclusive restaurant and spent over four-hundred dollars for dinner. I read that they had Lobster appetizers before her main course of,”get this,” more Lobster and the hole nine yards with all the trimmings. I saw the dinner ticket, and it was over four hundred dollars.

So much for her obese commercial wouldn’t you say???? We have people starving to death in America, and they go and pig out. Some of you might have seen it on the internet Thursday morning. Quite a write up.

It also told that Obama had only been to church three times since taking office, and to one prayer breakfast. Do you think he may be missing the mouth Rev. Wright?????????? No wonder our country is in such a bad shape. He seems to be setting a good example for our nation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Vic Bailey, Auburn, Georgia

How in the Hell do you think her and her husband got to be Millionaires, all they have ever done is be public servants, with a license to STEAL, and they did it pretty good. They are now worth MILLIONS!!

      • NanM

If they are worth millions they ought to pay back the public for all of her “personal” use ….trips to CA etc. This administration is so corrupt it is so disgusting. This is so bad and heartbreaking.

        • georgielo

Yes, Indeed so, That’s one of the major decision made to move from the “Golden State” in which I’m a native of, since 1941 until 1984, had enough of this Bull S__t, , being employed thru the School systems back then, I seen the “Hand writing on the Wall” and not being a Daniel, it didn’t take much else to convince me to move out to the Mid-west, yes, I get cold here, BUT NOT BURNED ANYMORE!!!!! G.B.

        • cr747

That was another thing . When she became Mouth Of The House, she didn’t like the plane every other Speaker used to fly back to California,”or wherever they flew to,” because they had to land for fuel to get her on to California. Sooo, she had to have a larger plane that could fly non stop to get her home. Naturally the bigger plane cost the taxpayer more, not only for the service plane, but also for it using more fuel. Now isn’t that a crock of, you no what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I say she should get her an apartment, and live in Washington, and pay her on way, but oohhhhh noooo she is to good for that, SHE THINKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

          • Smokey447

Don’t forget how she also made the big plane land at a landing strip closer to her home so she would not have that one hour car ride. Now thats a real show of “Arrogance of Power” abbused.

  • Disgusted

Obviously our representatives have no feeling or concern for their consituants who are struggling to make their rent/mortgage payment or to even buy food. While we are struggling to just get by they expect us to pay for a trip to Copenhagen for them and their family members (nothing like a free vacation). The whole “global warming” issue is a scam anyway. I don’t know about you but I am really tired of bending over and taking it.

  • Connie

We have another reason to get on board with GOOOH which stands for Get Out Of Our House. We need Representatives who do not think they “own” their position. They stay in DC long enough and that’s how they all begin to think and act!

    • Jessica

Connie, do you have a link for GOOOH? I’d love to visit their website.

  • http://PersonalLibertyDigest Bob Kinlaw

When are we going to send this @#%+*$!@ back to California where she belongs?

    • JeffH

Us Californians don’t want her back. That also would include Feinstein and Boxer.

      • JeffH

I might add that it was reported on a local radio talk show that she spends approx. $1000 a week on food and drink. She is very thin so I assume she is spending most on her favorite libations. I haven’t been able to verify this report though, just heresay.

        • Joe H.

you sure that didn’t say “food and shrink”? that would make a lot more sense!!!

          • JeffH

…maybe it was “drink and shrink”.

        • http://none Marsha Hynes

Look closely, she is not as thin as she once was, probably doe to the thousand bucks spent on lavishing herself.

        • Smokey447

Jeffh, your forgetting the thousands of dollars daily she also spends for flowers for her and her helps offices. Must realy stink in those offices to have to put that much money inot flowers to cover the smell. Maybe they should all take a bath once in a while.

  • TIME

She spends this much every month flying around in her US Air Force Jet. So this is not news to anyone who has looked into her abusive spending habits.

She is not nuts, she is truthful she has stated she is a PROGRESSIVE, and as such she knows she can do what ever she likes, and not a single person in the US can say a thing about it.
She is covered until the US voters in Calie toss her out. But; thats as likly to happen as Barry being tossed out next week.

    • American Citizen

Progressives are nuts because they don’t deal in reality.

    • JeffH

Time, I do believe you made a slight mistake in your comment. After all her derogatory name calling of the American people, how could she be considered truthful? Only someone who has lost her mind would say the things she has said.

Speaker Pelosi’s consistent characterizations of people who disagree with her as “un-American,” or “unpatriotic.” She’s famously fond of dissenters who agree with her (“It’s always exciting,” she told a group of anti-war hecklers in 2006), but that’s too easy by half.

      • TIME

Jeff, my friend, I agree with you the insults that Mis PigOsee seems to toss out like rotten road apples, wears on anyone who is an true American, be they a Dem or Rep, or Ind.

Lets face it she is as nasty of a person as anyone I have ever seen, thats how I came to her new name. {{PIG O SEE,}} after all when you have a Billion dollars a year income from Dole foods, and Star kissed foods, and you have brought about laws that make your income greater by these laws that have human rights violiations written in them some thing is very wrong.

But saddly 90% or more Americans don’t have a clue what she has done or does.

And as we all know as a Progressive, its someone else’s fault.

        • JeffH

Well said Time and right on the mark for Ms. Pig O See.

        • Joe H.

I also have a new name for her. It’s based on her husbands new commercial about starkissed tuna. Everybody in the ad is doing the “fish Face” ergo “fishface p-lousy!!!!

    • cr747

I would like to take her for a ride in the F-4 Phantom II McDonald Douglas 2 seater like one of the planes I flew in Vietnam. Now that would be a flight she would never forget!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Joe H.

Nah, just a chopper up at about 2500 ft then auto-rotate about 500 feet and I think she will remember. just make sure she has to clean up after herself!!!!! I remember a smarta$$ed reporter we did that to and he wasn’t so smart after that. He brought a flight helmet on board with him so he could speak back and forth, well when he left the helmet was on the ground and quite full!!!!

  • Tricia

I subscribe to the AFA (American Family Association) & they notified us yesterday of the additional spending Pelosi has done:

According to WorldNetDaily (WND), Judicial Watch has obtained documents under the Freedom of Information Act which reveal that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has spent over $2.1 million on air travel over the last two years, treating the Air Force jets on which she flies as if they were her own personal air taxi service. She often reserves the jets, then cancels them at the last minute despite the considerable cost involved in pre-flight preparations. Worse, $101,000 of that total was for food and alcohol consumed by her, her staff, her family members and other invited passengers while in flight. Bob Unruh of WND wrote, “It reads like a dream order for a wild frat party: Maker’s Mark whiskey, Courvoisier cognac, Johnny Walker Red scotch … E&J brandy, Bailey’s Irish Creme, Bacardi Light rum … Bombay Sapphire gin … and Corona beer.” While many families struggle to make ends meet financially, the leader of the people’s House is snatching money out of their wallets to treat her guests to the finest and most expensive booze money can buy so they can party down while in the air.
    Take Action Today!!!!!!
Send an email today to respectfully demand that your representative hold her accountable on your behalf. Urge your representative to conduct an investigation into this abuse and report back to you directly. This abuse of the people’s money by Speaker Pelosi should stop!

You can sign up at & they provide you with almost daily updates & links to your representatives contact info & sometimes draft the letters/e-mails for you. I contacted my representative yesterday! This SPENDING HAS TO STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Diana

Thanks for the info…I am on it and I agree she should leave as well as any one else in Washington with this attitude, whether Democrat or Republic!

    • Warrior

The least they could do is drink domestic products.

    • Myron J. Poltroonian

I suddenly have this image of a billboard ad campaign to unseat Nan, Babs and Di, with a grinning, well muscled laborer, sleeves rolled up and his right arm extended while holding an open beer can, saying: “This Bud’s for you”. The can’s label says “Fired”, by the way.

  • J. Willey

We are currently in the political grips of a federal government that believes they can do anything they wish and that the American people cannot do nothing to stop them. We have a Congress, administration and Supreme Court that have the socialization of America as their primary goal. Only our votes at every election can stop the onslaught of these treacherous power hungry individuals. Speaker, Nazi Pelosi comes from a family with a background of political corruption in Baltimore Maryland Maryland. Her father was a former mayor of Baltimore and listed as on of the fifty most corrupt mayors in American history. He was Thomas,”Big Tommy”,D’alesandro. Her brother was another corrupt political power in the U.S. Senate. A history of corruption and deceit. And she was appointed Speaker of the House?

    • Raggs
    • JeffH

I would suggest that everyone that dissagrees with Pelosi’s behavior do as I have been doing for quite some time now. Send weekly or even daily emails to her through her website ( asking for her resignation.

      • JeffH

If you wish, pass the email information to your friends and ask the same, and encourage them to forward the same request to their friends…like a chain letter.

        • LindyMaeUSA

Would you be so kind as to post the “wording” you use in your consistent emails to Pelosi’s website?

It would help a lot as I already know I will not be “politically correct” in my DEMAND for her resignation!

Thanks a lot and I look forward to that information because I have the TIME and ENERGY to keep messages firing in rapid succession to her email address!

      • JeffH

This is what I send through her website every week without fail:

Speaker Pelosi, I ask that you resign immediatley as Speaker of the House. Your conduct is detrimental to America and an embarrasment to The United States Congress and the American people for whom you work for, and represent.

        • LindyMaeUSA

Sorry, I didn’t scroll down far enough to see your “consistent email.”

However, now that I’ve read it, I can’t say I’ll use your exact words Jeff but will definitely paraphrase. As I read it, you’re way too polite and respectful and since this greedy witch HASN’T EARNED my respect, I won’t be hypocritical and give her any…respect, that is!

No offense intended toward you in any way.

          • JeffH

You can use it anyway you please. Pass it on, get the letter rolling.

        • LindyMaeUSA

Sorry, I didn’t scroll down far enough to see your “consistent email.”

Now that I’ve read it, I can’t say I’ll use your exact words Jeff but will paraphrase. From my perspective, you’re way too polite and respectful and since this greedy witch hasn’t earned my respect, I won’t be hypocritical and give her any (respect, that is!)

          • JeffH

There are some that might disagree. Contrary to what I might say here, I will address them as they should be addressed. I did have the pleasure of sending an email to Arnie, the governator here in California, and politley told him that he was a coward because of his decision to sign AB962 into law rather than veto it.

  • DaveH

There has to be a better way. The Democrats don’t recognize your property ownership, and the Republicans don’t recognize your ownership of your body.
How about a Party that recognizes both.
    Vote Libertarian:

  • Robert

pelosi’s tab for the trip is approximately 1.6M or $7,500 per participant. I urge the people of this country to demand that the Treasury be reimbursed! Isn’t there something legal we can do to stop this California fruit fly?

And some people thought that Newt Gingrich

Thanks for the HUGE carbon footprint from

  • Leo K

Nancy Pelosi should be proscecuted for organizing that trip. There was no need for any members of congress to be there as they had no funtion in the process in Copenhagen. It was just a Christmas shopping junket for 59 A-holes. Besides being a congressional theif she stark raving insane and for that reason alone needs to be impeached. She’s a leech!

  • Donald

Palosi is the queen bitch ! She spends our money like she is and she
doesn’t care. She is a Mutimillionaire many times over and her husband
is too. Guess how they make thier money? The Queen bitch and her Politics !

    • s c

Donald, if you love the truth (and if you have little or no use for career politicians/criminals), ask some media slimers if Queen Nancy and her hubby have any plans for divesting themselves of the monumental WAR PROFITS they made via a war that they ‘supposedly’ don’t like and won’t support because that war is so IMMORAL and so deeply offends their delicate sensibilities.
Like ALL disgusting ultraliberal progressives, Queen Nancy thinks she can preach her garbage to us and then do ANYTHING she wants because she’s better than the rest of us mere mortals.
Queen Nancy is almost as ‘special’ as the ‘special,’ aromatic contents of a leaking septic tank. She needs her nose rubbed in it in public, and I can’t wait for the tar-and-feather festival to begin.

  • John Hunley

Our illustrious congress-critters have no real sense of the value of a taxpayer dollar, nor does the President and first lady.

The trips, aka junkets, fact finding missions or just plain vacations at taxpayers expense, have become “entitlements” to these clowns. Pelosi has a Air Force jumbo jet fly her to and from San Fran every week at taxpayer expense, a smaller, more fuel efficient plane, would have to stop for fuel and she can’t stand that.

Every time that AF-1 takes of for an Obama speech or townhall meeting, it costs taxpayers $68,500 per hour to fly, plus escort jets, landing fees and ground transportation, close to $75,000 to $100,000 per hour total costs. Of course, you need Marine One to get you to the airport first, thats a few thousand bucks, too. Obama has made more flights, speeches and appearances than any previous president has in a 4 year term. That little trip to Denver (and on to Arizonia) to sign that stimulus bill that was SO desperately needed, cost the taxpayers well over 2 million DOLLARS. The one to Belgium for the Olympics embarrassment, the one to Copenhagen for the climate embarrassment and on to the Nobel for the PEACE prize embarrassment, yep, you paid every nickel of those multi-millon dollar trips.

And then there is the first lady Michelle Obama’s staff. She has 23 full time assistants plus 2 more who fly with her everywhere she goes, a hairdresser and stylist. The total cost of these persons is more than $1,250,000 per year, yes, thats’s a MILLION plus. Laura Bush had ONE assistant, Hillary had THREE.

It appears to me that the Obama’s think they have been given the country’s credit card and now the know no bounds or limits to their desires. When they talk multiple TRILLION dollars in debt, what’s a few million for themselves.

After all, they were elected to serve you at your expense and THEIR pleasure. Right??.

    • DaveH

I never have understood why Liberals, who hate Corporate officers who have worked their way to the top, will ignore the elected officials living lavishly on our money.

    • http://Don'thaveone Sally

That is what is called by the old saying “nigger rich”. I have never in my whole 72 years of life ever been a racist but I sure am becoming one now. In many of these blogs I have asked a questions that has yet to be answered. Name me one country that has had a black leader that has not gone to a totalitarian government (dictatorship)absolutely corrupt.

      • JeffH

It is too bad you have to use this racial scenario. Unfortunately for you, it will be construed as a racists view. There are many other examples you could have used to villify this administration. I do excuse your naivety in the matter though.

        • JeffH

Sally,I might add, the problem we’re facing is not a “black vs white” issue.

          • Claire

JeffH–Good comment. It is not a black and white issue. It is so much more than that!

        • BOE

Jeff….how about that damn SOB mack-daddy? That racist enough for you?

          • JohnQ

Naw, I’ve heard that expression for years and never in a racial manner.

      • Michael J.

There are at least a thousand reasons to be angry about what is happening to our country.

The tactic you currently employ only serves to provide ammunition to the opposition.

        • Claire

Michael J–So true. And another thing to consider–the possibility of “other” people readings these posts.

      • usmadgirl

You are so knowledgeable & supply a lot of great information, but this comment just makes what the “progressive” freaks like Janeane Garafalo & the “MessiahStreamMedia” think about us (conservatives) appear true.

I made the comment a couple days ago to some poster who was calling this a “racist” site, that I had never seen a racist comment before on this site. We are under a microscope & if we feed them the racist comments, you can bet it’ll be proof to use against us. If they THINK it, but have NO PROOF, they just look like idiots! If they have the proof, we look like the very names they’re calling us.

This is not about color, it’s about the “character” of these thugs that we should concentrate on. There’s enough evil & criminal progressive “character” to go around in this administration without playing the “race card”!

  • Mathew

Pelosi and the rest of her cohorts and cronies should be impeached. The country is reeling and here they are “enjoying” a “vacation” at the expense of the taxpayers of this nation. Is she the “champion of the unemployed and of the poor?” I hope the Californians and Nevadans wake up to these people pack up and send them out through the back door of the House and Senate.

  • Cathy of NJ

There is no question that this folly should be investigated and paid back. This womon is out of control and the people of California should recall this lemon now! How dare she take her croonies on a vacation on our dime and think that she is entitled! The Washington crew are out of control! The minions in the White House are laughing all the way to czardom! They can’t believe it was so easy! The idiots in the House need to be replace pronto! Reform their benefits and then let the real Americans run for their seats! Those who love this country and the Constitution, and their oaths will be replacing all those country, capitalist haters! Those in Washington could care less about the people who vote for them because the legal voter trusted that they were living up to their oaths of office. Well the good times are over and “We the people” will be deligent in removing these country hating, blood suckers from office!
    Please God help the USA!

    • DaveH

The people of California unfortunately don’t have a say in Nancy’s election. Only those in San Francisco and they are pretty much as Liberal as a city can get.

      • JeffH

        You can say that again.

  • R. Madore

Why are so many people surprised at this kind of behavior during a recession and record deficits? I don’t get it! This administration has been irrisponsible since it took office. OBAMA pushed a stimules package throught Congre had to be passed immediately or else we were gss whichoing to crash! The funny things is 2/3 of that same stimules hasn’t been spent. We were taken to the cleanres! Any business person knows is’t all bullshit! You voted for this guy and we are all going to pay dearly for it. By the time we get him out of office we will have no $$$$ left to do anything for years to come. He sold us out!!!!

  • Mathew

Michelle is another one. She is making the White House a beauty pageant auditorium. She wants to change her dress as soon as she boards Air Force One, (and who knows how many times she changes before it lands after the two or three hours flight?) all the while claiming that her father was a slave. If she kept that memory of her father, she would have a heart for the black and other poor of this nation and would use that thousands of dollars she is spending to get the best of the designer clothes, to feed the poor. She would not be going around showing her contour before the cameras of Cosmopolitan magazine, and the like. The country is going through a recession and the White House should stop spending all these funds they are squandering for other things that are unnecessary. The people elected them not to “enjoy” “their time” in the White House, but to bring the unemployment down and to keep the promise of “Change we can,” and the “Yes We Can.”

    • http://Don'thaveone Sally

How can her father have been a slave? She is roughly 46 years of age and even if her father had her late in life say 40 meaning 86 years ago. I didn’t realize that we had slaves in the early 1900′s. Remember guys, she thinks that she is another Jackie Kennedy.

      • Claire

She sure as heck looks older than 46!! I would guess 60s?

        • Joe H.

I think the lady was talking about Michelle O-man!!! how was your birthday,by the way??

          • Claire

JoeH–I still had Pelosi on my mind!!! And you gave me Pelosi’s birthdate! So now Michelle is in her 60s!! She sure aged in a hurry. Like I said, Pelosi is the President. Her and Reid are running the show, plus Congress is the one that is holding the power. I wonder how Pelosi will feel when she is no longer Speaker of the House. Not that I care.

          • Claire

JoeH–my birthday was great!! I had a wonderful day, thank you for asking.

      • JeffH

Nancy Patricia D’Alesandro Pelosi (born March 26, 1940)

        • Claire

JeffH–I should have looked it up. Thanks. I thought she had to be a lot older.

          • JeffH

Claire, you were right though, 60′s.

      • American Citizen

I thought the same thing as slavery ended with the Civil War.

  • John Rieske

Why am I not surprised? The only reason they care about the poor is to get them (the poor) to vote for them by promising to take money away from somebody else. Well, we get what we voted for.

  • http://firefox eva willy

Do those people in Washington believe that we Americans do not have the ability to read, write AND think! Is it their belief that the American public must be treated as if they belong in a special education center! Their ideal is, “all Americans are equal but some of us are more equal than others.!
    How shameful!!

Unfortunatly the democratic base is. However, with the advent of so many mnay people now having internet and are seeing what is going on in live time, we can get this changed. Before with only fax machines it was very difficult. Now we the people can take back our nation. All of the people that I know voted for the idiot, I have in my email group and keep pounding and pounding. Fortunately there are only a few. But that is what we have to do is to educate the low life and the ones that would vote for Satain if he ran on the democratic ticket.

  • Mathew

$2,200 a day? That is my ONE MONTH salary folks! Does she have any conscience? Perhaps she knows well this is her last chance to enjoy her “liberality.”

  • uponroof

To think that this passes for normal shuck and jive in the face of such crippling debt is clear evidence of Washington’s disdain. These scum, far from what anyone could excuse as misguided are now the enemy. These ‘public servants’ are snakes slithering through government media darkness, gorging themselves at our expense.

What was once an aggravating disconnect is now threatening our American lifestyle. Words alone on internet chats are useless against this evil entity. If we are to save our country good men will have no choice but to challenge the gluttons face to face. But who will go to the enemy and stand up, and who will remain at home hoping for better days?

I will be attending some sort of event in Washington this year (perhaps April 15th?) to make my presence felt. Not sure what date but I will be attending something! I’m awaiting the grass roots shake out to bring some clarity to what might be next. Regardless of who has the megaphone up front I will be protesting in DC this year. I’ve made that committment to myself.

I’ve also asked those I associate with, who make their living as building contractors like myself, to join us as we make sure our opinions are heard. We who are rough around the edges might bring limited formal education but more than enough street juice. I can only hope that some CNN or MSNBC reporter is brave enough to shove a microphone in our faces.

YOU MUST GET INVOLVED NOW. Make plans to charter a bus from your home town. Split the cost with those you recruit, load up the bus and make your presence known. The right date will make itself obvious in good time…just be ready to go!

    • Myron J. Poltroonian

I too work for a living and share your sentiments. Allow me to re-suggest the following: I suddenly have this image of a billboard ad campaign to unseat Nan, Babs and Di, with a grinning, well muscled laborer, sleeves rolled up and his right arm extended while holding an open beer can, saying: “This One’s for you”. The can’s label says “Your Fired”, by the way.

      • JeffH

        Love it!

  • Mathew

You are right John Rieske. Voted in the man-with-platitude and now we are paying for it.

  • Robin from Indiana

Where is the accountability? Why are these things, that should be top stories, not being reported by the main stream media? So many are struggling to make it, and our country is so far in debt, and those at the top flaunt not only their wealth, but they take advantage of tax payer dollars! Barry screamed transparency as a campaign slogan. Was he talking about small business, private individuals? He sure wasn’t referring to government!

  • Mathew

Let us mobilize another one of those Tea Parties. That is one of the ways to arouse the Sleeping Giant.

    • W. Hill

Totaly agree with Diane, we need TERM LIMITS NOW!

      • W. Hill

I would like to also add the following:
        Congressional Reform Act of 2010
        1. Term Limits.

        2. No Tenure / No Pension:
A congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.

        3. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security:
All funds in the Congressional retirement fund moves to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, Congress participates with the American people.

        4. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan just as all Americans.

        5. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

        6. Congress looses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

        7. Congress must equally abide in all laws they impose on the American people.

        8. All contracts with past and present congressmen are void effective 1/1/11.

The American people did not make this contract with congressmen, congressmen made all these contracts for themselves.

Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.

        • DaveH

          Mr. Hill,
I like a lot of your ideas. But getting politicians who would implement them is going to be tough.
I don’t think term limits will work. We would have perpetual lame-duck legislators who would have no incentive to please the voters. Imagine, for instance, if all the current Democrats knew this would be their last year. Do you think they would behave?
The only real solution is for the voters to get better educated on what’s going on in this country.
The Republicans need to deluge the RNC with demands for Limited Government candidates who will promise to cut the size of Government dramatically.
Better yet, Vote Libertarian, the Party of Principles.

          • American Citizen

Would a Congressional Reform Act really need an Amendment to the Constitution? The Constitution only gives general rules for Congress. What’s wrong with taking a page out of the progressives’ book and interpret for ourselves?

        • American Citizen

Works for me, Why can’t the 50 states get together and make the laws for Congress? Congress is supposed to be “We the People”, but it seems to be “We the elite”.

          • DaveH

            Good Idea Citizen.
But Amendments to the Constitution have to be either proposed by 2/3 of the Congress (isn’t going to happen), or 2/3 of the states need to call a Convention to propose the Amendments.

          • s c

American Citizen, as long as these sub-human VERMIN can get away with midnight pay raises, Americans should expect to have to endure people like Her Lowness, Queen Pelosi.
And as long as Congress can ignore and subvert the Constitution (and rarely READ the legislation they dare to pass), Americans do NOT deserve good government.

        • Michael J.

          Mr. Hill,
Sounds great, but don’t hold your breath. Not with this Congress anyway. I often think that when they speak of a need for a greener future, the things talked about in this article is what they really have in mind.

On the subject of term limits, I think there is a better way to keep them in line. Voters should demand from potential candidates a push to enact legislation which would grant us a process to petition for a confidence vote at any time and for any politician that a majority of voters deem necessary. This would make term limits irrelevant and allow the best civil servants to remain on post while affording us the ability to weed out the rotten apples. “We The People” are their employer and it’s time we start acting like we are.

        • EMRoss

I commend you W. Hill; great ideas so let’s turn those thoughts into reality, BUT HOW. It’s damm sure a fact that Obama won’t listen so by what authority does it get done and who will enforce it ?
          EMRoss – Salem, OR

      • Joe H.

        W. Hill,
Careful there, term limits would take an act of congress and with this bunch or any others for that matter, you never know what will ride in on the back of the bill!!!!

  • Mathew

Robin you know that. These media are “covering” (covering up?) their favorite liberals. Look at the poor coverage they gave to Scott in MA. On the other hand, they were “covering” Martha all the while knowing well that she was trailing in the polls. Had she won, these liberal media would still be talking about it. Look at the coverage they give to Michelle and Obama. Did they give such publicity to Laura Bush? There is not a single day without a news about Michelle. Let us not be fooled by expecting these liberal media would cover others who oppose them.

  • Threedogs

We need Constitutional Amendments!!! We The People need to limit the power of the federal government, because they surely won’t do it.

    1. Federal income taxes shall be no more than ____% of income.

    2. Federal debt shall be no more than__________ (fill in the blank).

    3. No citizen shall be forced to join or pay dues to ANY union or organization against hihs or her will.

    4. And for God’s sake – TERM LIMITS!

    • EMRoss

Now you’ve got the right idea Threedogs. Hear me out on the following.
I lived in Hong Kong long before CHina took it over, so here goes…..

      Personal Income tax – maximum………………………..10%
      very limited write offs.

If the voters didn’t like a politician they were replaced; in some cases there was an investigation to misuse somehow. Shame on them.

There was no debt, in fact the U.K. got into financial straits and the Honk Kong Govt. bailed them out with no pay back and the Colonys’ reserve never suffered. Billions in assets.

I realize this could open up a tremendous amount of debate from people that don’t understand, but it is a fact and not a single citizen cheated on taxes. What a pleasure it was to write that check each year for my 10% and then realize what I was getting back for it.

So Threedogs where do we go from here? Comments are good but no forward progress is being made to protect the will of the people.

      EMRoss – Salem, OR

I believe that someone should check into whom of the 150 people that went to Copenhagen actually attended the Summit and who just went about their merry way and sight seeing on our dime..

    • JeffH

…and should be required to pay back the taxpayers.

  • Mary Oele

When will there be investigations of this misuse of taxpayer dollars. Copenhagen, indeed! Huge amounts of money spent to fly to a conference based on cooked research! Bad enough. Nancy’s vacation expenses should not be our responsibility. I can’t bill my vacations to the taxpayers. Why should she?

    • http://Don'thaveone Sally

You know, she should have to report all these expenses (entitlements) on her income tax and pay taxes on same. If you have a company car, whatever the value of that car is, 20% goes over to you as income on your W2. So why shouldn’t all of this have to be reported on their tax forms as additional income?

  • Lee M

How many of you people voted Democratic last election. I didn’t. Vote these idiots out.

I liked Nancy’s work out video, What a hoot! They forgot to put Barack the clown obama in it bowing every five seconds. That would give a better cardio work out. Ha! Someone should tell Nancy to get her hemorrhoids fixed so she could sit still. Nancy Pelosi is one of the reasons other countries hate us so. We don’t live extravagantly. Only our Govt. She really rules the roost up there in Washington.Does anyone really think if they voted her out she would go? She would just say no and keep her seat and the Democrats would let her get away with it. They are all crooks up there. All the govt. expenditures should be listed on a website……….As for Michelle having so many assistants. No matter what they do for her, they cannot make her look good. She should use Nancy’s plastic surgeon to carve some of that meat off her backside, and if she wanted to help the world she could probably feed a small country on that alone.

In the past twelve years I have taken 7 two week vacations to Europe. My total cost ranged from $107.00 to $159.00 per day. I cannot imagine how anyone could spend $2,200.00 in one day, since they stayed in one city and spent their time at a conference.

    • American Citizen

That’s just it, they didn’t attend the conference.

  • Grampy

A lot can be said concerning Nancy Pelosi’s ineptness to function as a normal person. What concerns me more is the California voters who see fit to vote for her term after term.

  • kirk

WHY WASTE?????????Pelosi is “totally inept”. How in the world did she happen?

    • JeffH

I think that if Papa Pelosi had known in advance his daughter would turn out like this he would have abstained from sex for his lifetime.

Madam Polsi and the 150 people she invited at the cost of the tax payer, That amount should be taken out of her annual pay.
I’m sick of going without so these high on the hog senators and congress-persons can fly all over the world. What in the world did she need to go to Copenhagen for ? wasn’t it enough we had to pay for President Obama to go begging for Illinois to get the Olympics.
Waste of our tax payers money, A million dollars for 150 people

  • Myron J. Poltroonian

Don’t blame all Californians for Nan, Babs and Di Fi. We do not, here in California, have so much of a “North/South” problem politically, as we do an “East/West” problem. I suggest I-5 as the dividing line. Hell, I’ll even move across the river if that occurs.

  • Jesse

We should boycot San Francisco until they vote Nancy out.

  • Edward

This is the kind of thing that gets mainstream and conservative folks infuriated, or should I say beyond livid! You can bet there will be an all out no holds barred political war to get her unseated, and it will likely get nasty and ugly.

  • Myron J. Poltroonian

She already is nasty and ugly. Even botox can’t hide that.

    • Joe H.

There isn’t enough botox in the whole world to hide that!!!!

I take my hat off to you Ferdi, wherever you are. Pelosi needs to go home (hopefully by Greyhound) and stay home. I love San Francisco; too bad she calls it home. Anyway you are the first person I’ve seen to place their email on these type of comments. So my question is, how can we begin a movement to unseat her, along with all the other crooks in D.C. ? I always sign my comments “WAKE UP AMERICANS” but everyone still stays asleep. Your comments are welcome. “WAKE UP AMERICANS”

  • Shirley

I am always amazed but tend to not be surprised of the fact that only Democrats are targeted in these posts. Come on people, all the “bad people” are not all on one side. Don’t you think it is about time we stop being duped and investigate the origin of these websites?

As for term limits, maybe that is a good suggestion….we in Indiana have a US Senator (Lugar) who has been in office for umpteen years and a US Representative (Souder) who is starting his run for a 9th term…both Republicans by the way. Still want them out?

  • JeffH

Shirley, if you want to see what a pro Obama/liberal site is like go to:
Read the comments and you can see just how viscious the liberals are and how they attack the conservatives and Rebublican point of view.

It is a two way street yoy know.

    • JeffH
    • Shirley

I am not looking for a “liberal or conservative” site. I am looking for a site where the truth is told or issues debated with some dignity, and brainstorming without resorting to profanity. We US citizens cannot solve our problems by dividing ourselves from each other or calling people names. What good does that do? We need to think!!!! That’s what will make us great again.

      • JeffH

Shirley, I couldn’t agree with you more, but it ain’t gonna’ happen as long as human beings are involved. Go to any site with blogs and it won’t take too long to figure them out, no matter which side they are supporting. This is all part of the process and it is necessary. Believe it or not, it is also very educational.

        • Claire

Very very educational. And very very interesting. I can honestly say that the majority of the people on this site are very passionate in what they believe. And this is good, at least there are no mealy-mouths. Nothing like a good debate about the issues.

As for that global warming crap, I invite these idiots that believe that junk and waste enormous amounts of money to come and visit kansas or sw Missouri or Oklahoma. there is no warming here. pelosi needs to take a little trip down mexico way and take all her illegals with her as well as all the welfare sucking, baby spittin’ mexicans that belong there as well.

You cannot hurt Pelosi and Greed and the others for their greed by voting them out because they retire with full pay and benifits with the plus being that they do not have to go to work anymore and are still entitled to go on these trips. That is why there were so many of them. They must be prosecuted for their greed and denied their fat cat retirement packages which the rest of us must pay for.

  • Joe H.

O-man just said at the national prayer breakfast that we need to get back to civility. How profound! Especially when you figure the way he is so civil with Fox news, The people of the U.S., and the workers in the U.S.!!!! He doesn’t know the meaning!!!!

    • JohnQ

…more meaningless words from. Like the pot calling the kettle black.

  • Cathie

I don’t usually contribute to the blogs and discussion boards, but with this one I could not resist. I am a reformed liberal and so I know how they think. They are brainwashed, mostly by the elite ivory tower professors, while in college. They are led to believe that only the so-called educated elite have enough knowledge to lead this country and the world and to build a Utopia. They believe that Conservatives are stupid, ridiculous and not worthy of your time. I graduated from college believing that absolute CRAP. And then I became a business owner, a mother and a wife. In a short time I was slapped back into reality. Thank goodness!! And like a reformed smoker, I have no patience with liberals. I just shake my head and scream WAKE UP BEFORE YOU DESTROY US! They don’t listen. So, take it from me, you will not change the mind of a liberal–only life circumstance will do that. Also, keep in mind that liberal politicians are voted in either by other liberals (like Pelosi) or by the very poor who believe that the way to be fed is to suck on the hind tit of a liberal politician. (Sorry for the analogy, but it is so appropriate).

My point is that we will never change anything by using our energy to change the minds of liberals. So, we have to work together as like-minded, intelligent people. The movement has begun: Step 1–knowing the TRUTH. WE are now roused and on the move. Get involved, spread the truth so others will get involved, and NEVER allow them to intimidate or frighten us. We need to show up at meetings, go to rallies, picket in DC, march in front of the offices of our represetatives, meet with our representatives, send emails, faxes and make the telephone calls, and VOTE. DO NOT LET UP! It does make a difference!! What do you think happened in Massachusetts, and Virginia and New Jersey?! Don’t let the lying liberals tell you that those elections signify nothing. Those elections foretell of things to come!! Keep it up because WE THE PEOPLE do make a difference, we do matter, after all, we ARE the government!

  • Lee M

Reading these articles and posts are great fun and very informative but how many of us are getting out in the community and passing the info to our friends, relatives, and neighbors. A grass roots movement by each and every informed individual is, I think, what it is going to take to beat the partisan parties big bucks and good old boy politics. Come on America let’s take America back from the corrupt politicians. The number of Americans that actually vote and get involved is appalling.

    • Joe H.

      Lee M,
I was reminicing about my highschool days today and I remembered the typing class I took and the practice sentence they made us use and it is quite true today!!!! “Now is the time for all good Americans to come to the aid of their country”. I believe it has never been more true than these days and the ones ahead!!!

      • JeffH

Joe H. I remember it as:
“now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their party”

        • Joe H.

  • Enact Change

Well, there is a lot of talk in the blogs, there are tea party rallies that people can attend, that luckily consist of Independents and middle of the road thinkers, attend them whenever you can. Don’t let ideology run the conversations, let common sense do it, keep it to specifics and examples. I keep hearing the so many say that reducing taxes goes back to the failed policies of the last 8 years, but that is just a spin on the truth, that period of government was spent taxing conservatively and spending liberally. The problem is, everyone lets them get away with the misguided statements that keep getting made. So of course the new administration thinks, well, we just need to take and keep spending. And of course it seems the only way out of debt is to raise the debt high enough so that most people won’t be able to represent it on their calculators, so then you can preach to them that they just don’t understand it, and move along.
The racial comments should be removed from blogs, as they serve no purpose except to spread a level of ignorance. I don’t care what section of humans you choose, there are really good people in every section, and there are also the less desirable attitudes and personalities that end up being the focal point of everyone who wants to throw insults, the problem is these insulters are ignorant of the rest of the group that they are insulting and ignorance is not a good tool for getting your point across.
For parents, teach your kids that everyone is an individual, give them the tools to stop the overall negative classification of entire groups of people as it serves no goal other than to show ignorance. Also, get involved in their education, especially history, read their history books, realize where the truths of the past are being eroded, and show them the truth so that they can NOT be misled and won’t allow the repeat of past mistakes. Give them the tools to make the future better.
For us adults now, I know there are so many that are in financial binds that make it difficult, but instead of e-mail , let us start sending standard postal Letters to congress, to everyone in the house and the senate, just elected, or a life time member. It will certainly help because we will be helping jobs for the Postal employees and bringing more jobs for people. It will help because our Mis-Representatives will see the bulk of the citizens of the United States of America, a republic for which we WILL stand. Keep the letters to facts and address them with proper titles. But let them know how you feel. When all of those envelopes start filling the halls and the back rooms, they won’t have anywhere to hide and enact legislation that the rest of the members won’t read, but will pass without regard for the public. Use recycled paper where you can, but let’s show them our volume.

    • Joe H.

      Enact Change,
I hate to disagree with so pretty a picture as you print in your post but these people have assistants that read for them and when it gets too hard on them they just IGNORE!!!

Enact Change…I hear you loud and clear. I do my communicating with politicians through their website emails. Most of them, specifically Feinstein, Boxer and Pelosi send back generic responses that don’t mention anything about the content of what I sent them. My local/State reps are very good and will respond through the mail.
Also, your comment: The racial comments should be removed from blogs, as they serve no purpose except to spread a level of ignorance.
I couldn’t have said it better and I agree.

Enact Change, We haven’t experienced the effect of our massive national debt yet, it will turn the Recession into another Depression (like the 30s) and will ruin the dollar. With fewer and fewer foreign nations buying our treasury bills, the dollar will be inflated out of existence.

Speaker Pelosi prefers having power and control, rather than working for God’s ideals and listening to WE THE PEOPLE. The millions of dollars she needlessly spends to impress her family, friends and fellow comrades is beyond criminal. She talks about spreading the wealth for the poor while she spends enough taxpayer money on her social life each year out of petty cash to feed the homeless in the state of Calif for a year. She does quite well with her net worth being close to twenty million dollars. It’s not about Democrats or Republicans, its about ideology that the leftist liberal progressive democrats and a few wrong headed Republicans want to shove down our throat. Its about fundamentally dimantling the Constitution and the rule of law. When have you ever seen so much corruption blatently being perpetrated before your very eyes and its almost like the Whitehouse and some Congress people are above the law, a good example is Democratic Congressman Charlie Rangel. This powerful Ways and Means Committeee chairman is being investigated by the Senate ethics committee numerous serious offenses. Finally, we the people no longer control the government. The government has become corporatist. Corporations and special interest groups that provide the campaign funds are who control our elected elites. Case in point, the Democrats shoved a financial regulatory bill down our throats which doesn’t include Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and creates another huge govt buearacracy that will cost billions to fund over the next few years at a time when we are on the verge of being bankrupt. That is why you saw such hubris on the part of the elites in pushing through the stimulus bills and the healthcare bill. They no longer care what we think because they no longer fear us as much as they fear upsetting their sugar daddies. In order for that to change the people must rise up in sufficient numbers, overcome the lies told during the Presidential campaign and on C-Span by politicians on a daily basis and vote them out. If we don’t show up on 2 Nov 2010 and 2012 and vote out Pelosi, Reid and all the democrats who suppoort the radical agenda of Obama and Rinos like Snowe, Collins, Graham, McCain and Lugar, our Constitution and our freedoms are going bye, bye. The Naacp is now in lock step with Obama by calling the Tea Party a bunch of racists, evidently because some nutjob had a sign showing Obama with a mustache like Hitler. Every President has always been the target of a few nutjobs for a century since some get too passionate and lose their grip on civility, that does not make them racist. These agressive protesters are overly passionate about what they expect from Congress and the President and their display of signs and words uttered are the frustrations that come with being helpless to stop the Congress and the Whitehouse from driving us into Socialism. Our country is at a point that will define our way of life, and if you keep these liberal politicians in power by voting for them instead of against them, we are doomed as a society that would otherwise have the opportunity to pass on what’s left of the American dream to our children and grandchildren. The month of Sept and Oct is going to be a stretch of time that will be used by the radical democrats to stage a crisis to be used for political purposes and then take credit for riding in on a white horse to save us. Be ready for this deceitful thrust of these power hungry pathetic polticians and don’t fall for it, because they are going to get their ass kicked at the polls in Nov and they know it. I spent 29 years in the military to defend the Constitution and I fully intend to continue my fight for freedoms, I see in jeapordy with this insane bunch of radical politicians who put power and control above the welfare of WE THE PEOPLE. I do not want to be proud to be a republican or democrat, I want to be proud of being an American. I believe in my heart that conservative values serves the majority best and I also realize there is no perfect form of govt, but the Constitution and the rule of law is under assault by the Socialist Democratic Party led by Obama, Pelosi and Reid, who I refer to as the UNHOLY TRINITY. Please vote.
