Peace Prize President Prepares For All-Out Drone Assaults

January 9, 2013 by

Peace Prize President Prepares For All-Out Drone Assaults
On Monday, President Barack Obama announced that he nominated John Brennan to head the Central Intelligence Agency.

So far, 2013 has been a busy year for Nobel Peace Prize-winning President Barack Obama, as his Administration launched six drone strikes in Pakistan during the first eight days of the year. The strikes have been blamed for an estimated 35 deaths.

According to reports, the United States launched 43 drone strikes in Pakistan last year, less than half of the number of strikes during the most aggressive bombardment of the nation in 2010. But the frequency of drone strikes in the initial days of 2013 and other indicators likely offer telltale signs that the drone war will ratchet up again.

On Monday, Obama nominated counterterrorism adviser and drone murder aficionado John Brennan to head the Central Intelligence Agency, which has taken a primary role in drone assaults in recent years.

While the number of civilian deaths that have occurred from drone warfare is widely disputed (some international agencies have estimated the civilian death toll to be anywhere between 5 percent and 20 percent of all drone-related deaths in Pakistan), Brennan has publicly supported expanded drone warfare. According to The New York Times, Brennan even claimed in 2011 that for more than a year there wasn’t “a single collateral death because of the exceptional proficiency, precision of the capabilities we’ve been able to develop.”

Because the CIA is the primary operator of America’s deadly drone program, there are no concrete, publicly available numbers related to civilian death tolls from drone strikes. But Brennan critics say his earlier assertions are ridiculous, and the Bureau of Investigative Journalism estimated the number to be near 500 civilian casualties late last year.

Another caveat of the policy of constantly pummeling tribal Pakistan with drones is the psychological impact it is having on the non-militant population of the region. People terrified of the American death machines in the skies are more easily co-opted into anti-Western extremist groups.

A few weeks ago, in chicago, the local gubmint had one of those turn in your gun days for $100 bucks. Turns out, “someone” (unidentified of course) gave up a couple of RPG’s. I was soooo inspired I decided to go into the attic and search for some old hardware I had laying around to donate. Well, I couldn’t get that old M2 Bradley started so I missed that opportunity.

It’s a good thing our gubmint has other peoples to practice on, don’t you think?

    • Bruce

We could never win in Afghanistan, because they do not have GUN CONTROL there. The public has too many weapons to allow our military to actually win the war. When our government turn on us and treats us like they treat the citizens of Afghanistan, they want our guns gone first. They have first hand information on how hard it is to CONTROL a group of people who are armed. 2nd Amendment rights are very important to America staying a free country and its citizens NOT being ENSLAVED by DEBT and turned into servants of their government.

      • http://google David

This is closer than most realize. Debt, racial strife, immigration, taxes, corruption, civil anarchy is imminent.

      • Kate8

Bruce – I don’t think the banksters ever intended for America to win any of these bogus wars. They are about spreading chaos, gaining control over a country’s resources, population reduction, and over-stretching our military. The elite are funding both sides, and everyone knows it.

Besides, just like here at home, they could come on strong with any number of their high-tech super weapons and kill millions in one fell swoop. Why they haven’t is open to debate, but maybe it just hasn’t been the right time for them. That would be their final ace in the hole, and to play it too soon could be more of a problem than a win for them.

Of course, they HAVE launched some big plays, like 9/11, Katrina and Hurricane Sandy. They weren’t able to get the casualty numbers they anticipated, but they did succeed in getting a lot of unlawful legislation and EOs through. Plus, it looks like they were test drills to see how we’d react.

If the elite wanted one side to win, they’d make it happen. America has weapons that would crush one of those countries in an hour’s time. They prefer to just watch the games, and spread depleted uranium all over the place so they can decimate the populations over time.

  • Too Tall

Personally, I don’t care how many of Afghani’s or Iraqui’s get wasted by drones. Wouldn’t hurt my feelings if the whole country got wiped out. That’s not the issue for me. My issue is that I haven’t received my Nobel Prize for literature. He got the prize for what he MIGHT do, so I want one for the book I MIGHT write. Frankly, they negated the prestige of the prize by giving it to Obama for no reason I can find.

    • Chocopot

I have no argument whatever with your comment. However, the Nobel Peace Prize became a joke when it was given to the likes of Yassir Arafat, the world’s foremost terrorist and murderer of innocent children, in 1994. There have been many other despicable recipients, which has made the prize nothing more than a joke.

      • Hedgehog

        Chocopot and Too Tall:
You both missed the point. Somewhere there was a typo and they have been awarding the PIECE prize, not the Peace prize. You know, a drone here, a drone there, pieces here pieces there. So it’s all OK, really! :)

      • Syd

Don’t forget the socialist POS Woodrow Wilson, circa 1912.

      • Dennis48e

While I am NOT saying he deserved it a case could be made for giving Yassir Arafat the peace prize. However obama apparently received it just because he was elected President.

  • Benton Bain

John Brennan sanitized Obama’s passport records

Remember the breaching of the passport records of Obama in 2008???
By March 22, 2008, the Washington Times reported that the State Department investigation had focused on the contract worker for the Analysis Corporation, because he was the only one of the three involved in breaching the passport records of both Obama and McCain, the two presidential candidates whose eligibility as “natural born” citizens under Article 2, Section 1 of the Constitution were in question.
Analysis Corporation was headed by Brennan, a former CIA agent who was then serving as an adviser on intelligence and foreign policy to Sen. Obama’s presidential campaign.
After Obama’s inauguration, Brennan joined the White House as assistant to the president and deputy national security adviser for homeland security and counter-terrorism.

Would someone please explain to me why we are bombing Pakistan with drones, and at the same time we are giving foreign aid to Pakistan? John R. Howell

    • eddie47d

John Howell: You don’t think too far out of the box do you? We give aid to Pakistan to keep their government in check so they don’t ally with the regions extremists. That brings us to the other part of your question. We use drones to selectively wipe out headquarters and hideouts of radical forces attacking American troops in Afghanistan. Another reason is because it helps the Pakistani government to control their extremists. I don’t like drone attacks but that wasn’t part of your question.

      • WTS/JAY

eddie: We give aid to Pakistan to keep their government in check so they don’t ally with the regions extremists.

My take on that, eddie, is that; we borrow (the fiat-money) so that we can pay the extortion/aid? to the Pakistani government in the promise they won’t engage in terrorist-activities while we continue plundering their resources, unmolested! Of course, I could be wrong…?

  • r.p.

When they begin to use predator drones here, they will change the term “collateral damage” to “other suspected terrorists”. That way we all will be assured that no innocent civilians have been killed.

  • FreedomFighter

“People terrified of the American death machines in the skies are more easily co-opted into anti-Western extremist groups.”

Wait till these people see the “Terminators” being developed and tested, automated, armored, weaponized, impervious to small weapons fire…you know like AKs and AR15s…coming to a battlefield near you…soon.

BTW Americans, did you know BARRY and the BoYs have declared AMERICA a battlefield?

This regime is perfecting their drone strikes, by attacking middleeast terrorists. Have we considered that drone strikes could be used, just as easily, on Americans deemed to be “terrorists” in this country

      • LindyMaeUSA

TR: I’ve not only “considered” that prospect, I fully expect it to be “standard-operating-procedure” on us when THEY’RE ready!

What are the different between the NAZI V-2 rockets and our drones?

The drones are accurate, effectively leathal and cheap. A drone is a “REAL TERROR WEAPON”

“Terminators, Real Terror Weapons, etc.” . . . hmmm, that must be “a tiny bit” of what the pseudo-president was referring to in February, 2008 when he looked into the TV camera at the $30,000. a plate Hollywood Dinner and sneered: “And you (America!) ain’t seen nuthin’ yet!”

Freedom Fighter: I can’t remember the journalist or date but there was an article quite some time ago (before November 6, 2012) when the pseudo-president “OPENLY DECLARED WAR ON AMERICA?” However, I DO remember my mild surprise at that “startling revelation (not!) ” thinking; “Well, this is the first truthful thing that foreigner has said since the “powers that be” put him in our White House and NOW WE KNOW what we’re gonna’ be dealing with!!!!

OK, I just found this website on the same subject: Go to “Sodahead Opinions” and read the article dated January 02, 2013 + 82 opinions of Americans who “see the writing on the wall!”

Those who wish to deprive you of your liberty have made it clear that the total disarmament of the people IS their goal. In a 1995 showing of CBS-TV’s 60 Minutes, the wicked witch of the west Diane Feinstein said, ”If I could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an out-right ban, picking up every one of them… ‘Mr. and Mrs. America, turn ‘em all in,’ I would have done it.”

Former Attorney General Janet Reno, in 1993 said, “Waiting periods are only a step. Registration is only a step. The prohibition of private firearms IS THE GOAL.”

  • Fitch

The only thing President Obama has done that I agree with is the use of drones against terrorists. I am 100% in favor of it. Taking down the terrorist leadership, where ever they are, should be a very high priority. If John Brennan does that, I’ll be among the first to applaud.

  • jopa

I believe the use of drones is an excellent alternative to the carpet bombing and cluster bombing of the Bush years.I know Chaney really didn’t give a rip when hundreds of thousands of men women and children were vaporised and he would just shrug his shoulders and say”Oh well just collateral damage”.When a drone can pinpoint and take out a target without killing hundreds that is the only humane way to go.Obama is truly a man of peace in comparison to the war mongers of the past regime that brought so much shame to America with their invasion of a country with no reason and torture of humankind.Dick Chaney and Tator Bush belong in Gitmo along with Ruummy, Rice, and Wolfowitz.

remember if they can use drones on us then we can take those very same drones from them and use them on them (think what Iran is doing with our drones). Get yer boy to become a drone pilot. Teach him to be a sleeper cell. and teach him how, when and who to turn against at the right moment. The so called “elite” can not do everything themselves they must hire us (with funny money) to do it for them. So they must hope they do not hire sleeper cells to defend themselves. Think guys. They are less than .01% of the population, how can one person hold off 999? If we let them they can do it.

Obama Drone Control got you scared?
Obama’s choice of John Brennan for CIA not your
How about signing the online White House Petition
to End Drone Strikes Killing Children and
    innocent civilians?

    • Kate8

CRIS – I actually have a real problem with all of these petitions.

Firstly, it makes no sense to have to petition our government to stop abusing their power. It makes no sense. They are getting away with it… Why on Earth would they stop. They DON’T CARE what we think.

Instead of pleading, we need to start presenting them with declarations of our freedom from their tyranny. Recall the Magna Carta. It was not a petition. It was a declaration.

I understand that at least one declaration of freedom has been filed. We have to begin to really get that WE ARE NOT SUBJECTS. We are free and sovereign humans, answerable only to our God. We do not bow to tyrants. They are the ones who are guilty of unlawful acts, of placing themselves above the laws they try to shove down our throats. It is THEY who need to be brought to justice, with the same cold judgment they pronounce on us.

We’ve taken too much off of them already. They have, and continue to, murder us and our children every day, a few at a time. And still we say we cannot fire the first shot. They have been shooting, and will continue to, until we stop them.

No more petitions. They laugh at petitions. It’s time to get real. It’s time to get tough.

      • Bruce

        end quote

What you are saying is that we should start a French Rev style of revolution hunt down the so called “elite” and the rich and dispatch them with a gulitine in the streets, and hanging them from the light poles, while we march around with our pitch forks (note no guns needed)
They have no food? well then let them eat cake…..
The food riots coming to a neighborhood near to you very soon. (We’ll cut of their food and then the slaves will have to stop rioting) After the Boston Tea party food was cut off by the king then too, in an attempt to punish his SUBJECTS. Well we ARE NOT SUBJECTS ANY MORE. I seems our government has stopped following the laws we set up to govern their actions. So we now have a rogue government that does not listen to the people it was set up to listen to. Great!!!!! nothing works right when you mix evil with it.

Are American Troops Protecting Afghan Opium?

As many have noted, the U.S. government has – at least at some times in some parts of the world – protected drug operations. (Big American banks also launder money for drug cartels. See this, this, this and this. Indeed, drug dealers kept the banking system afloat during the depths of the 2008 financial crisis. But that’s beyond the scope of this post.)

The U.S. military has openly said that it is protecting Afghani poppy fields:

    Afghanistan’s poppy fields – The opium trillion dollar/year windfall…

The oil companies get 80 dollars a barrel….the heroin/opium trade sells a barrel of Afghani opium for 19 million dollars whole-sale. Whoever is pulling the strings of the US military is bringing in 19 million dollars per barrel of opium sold!!

And that is only “whole-sale”. “Street-value” is above 60 million dollars a barrel.

  • cawmun cents

Are American troops protecting Afghan opium?
    Nope….they are protecting Merck and Pfizer’s opium……and the derivatives….

your personal liberties and freedoms you take for granted ………ARE IN DANGER OF BEING LOST FOREVER

    • Bruce

they ALLREADY took those liberties during the so called drug war.
You all hated drug users so you let them do bad things to those drug users, you even made shows out of arresting drug users, and you enjoyed them, you let them take the liberties of drug users, because you were not a “bad” user, and because they were portrayed as scum of the earth you were glad to take from them their liberties, but when they were doing that they were also taking YOUR liberties, sneaky buggers. Now the ugly beast has turned on you, the non-drug user. And will the users come to your help?
You must stand for the freedom of the least if you hope to keep your own freedoms.
But with a program of divide and conquer we have been turned against ourselves, black against white north against south rich against poor old against young workers against non-workers. Where is the UNITY that this once great nation had?
You ALL have failed to keep the commandments given to you, to “love your neighbor” so now you are being punished, for your transgressions.
If you as a nation would keep just that one law, given to you for your good. You could stop this punishment that is waiting for you.
But you have rejected God and the laws he sent you, you kicked him out of your schools and government and your house, so, now your future is sealed.
      Prepare for the punishment.
Events are proceeding just like I would expect them to if the devil was in charge of this world right now, and he wanted to “test” the Christians, to see if they would stick to their beliefs or run scared.
When will this gov set up the Lions vers the Christians fight to the death for entertainment, as it was in Rome?
      Soon I think.
Be sure to pick your side, understand the rules and the cost of picking the wrong side.
      OK game on. Final 1/4
