Over The Cliff: Us And Them

Over The Cliff: Us And Them
PHOTOS.COM

Like many Americans, I rose to greet 2013 with a renewed sense of hope and a belief that the new year would bring forth joy and success. Following a couple of aspirin and three or four cups of coffee, I actually began to think my optimism might stem from more than just whatever booze was still pumping through my system. (Note to self: absinthe = bad.) Maybe 2013 will be the year that decent Americans rescued our beloved Nation from the clutches of President Barack Obama and his accomplices. Against the rising tide of statist crimes like Obamacare and the Democrats’ war on the Bill of Rights, we red, white and blue stalwarts will press our government to steer the ship of state away from the storm-tossed seas of class envy, racial animus and outright crimes into which Obama has steered us.

I made it as far as my morning news roundup before I realized my rosy view of the coming year really was just the booze talking. As a present to those of us whom they purport to represent, the U.S. Senate gave us the proverbial crap sandwich. With a very mere 8 “nay” votes, the upper house of the Nation’s Legislature passed a plan to avoid the “fiscal cliff,” a plan which may push off the spending sequesters for a month or two but simultaneously serves to push the rest of us into the gaping chasm of budgetary excess.

89-8. That was the final vote count. Although the plan, supposedly constructed by Vice President Joe Biden, will avert financial calamities for Obama’s “green energy” cronies and the dependent-class minions who have repeatedly traded their individual rights for a vote (or two, depending on who drove them to the polls) for the Democrats, the plan really hikes taxes and spending while offering almost nothing to the regular Americans upon whom this and every other flimflam ultimately comes to rest.

Forget about the economy-crushing punishment the deal inflicts upon the most successful among us — punishment that will reverberate through the economy in the form of lost jobs, lost revenue and lost hope for the Nation’s future. Instead, focus on that vote count: 89-8. Most Republicans joined their Democratic partners in crime in passing a so-called compromise that compromises only their own respectability. According to the Congressional Budget Office, the deal, which spans 157 pages, costs $4 billion in tax hikes per page. The ratio of spending hikes to tax relief comes in at 41-to-1. With Majority Leader Mitch McConnell behind the wheel, the Republican Senators may not have robbed us of our money and dignity; but they certainly drove the getaway car.

While I’m willing to offer kudos to those great eight who stood their ground on our behalf, I’m hardly dancing a jig over the House following suit in butchering this abominable compromise deal and feeding it to the hogs. We needed someone to play King Leonidas and his Immortals. Instead, we had House Speaker John Boehner and a bunch of Congressmen who would look really stupid dressed as Spartans. And in the late-night hours of New Year’s Day, the House wall cracked and crumbled; the Republican-led House voted to approve the deal, 257-167. Ostensibly conservative Representative Lou Barletta (R-Pa.) described the fiscal cliff avoidance boondoggle as the “safest bet.” What Barletta left out was that he and his fellow Washington wire-pullers are betting with our money.

At this point, I should probably tell you all to contact your respective Congressmen and remind them just who it is who really signs the checks around here. But the lesson we should all be taking from Washington’s ham-fisted handling of the fiscal cliff negotiations is the virtually complete lack of respect most of the people in that godforsaken city have for every single one of the rest of us. We’re not witnessing the usual partisan Republican versus Democrat political theater. We’re witnessing the politicians teaming up to stick it to the rest of us. Should my Congressman choose to continue to toe the line, I’ll contact him from the ballot box. Remember this moment. Obama and his liberal cronies are waging war on our most basic freedoms. And when the time came to stand fast at the proverbial battle of Thermopylae, the Republicans didn’t run away. Worse, they turned and joined the onslaught.

Passing a 153 page trillion dollar spending and taxation bill without checks and balances or deliberate budget; and without reading or knowing who, what, and why it was written defines treason! Our executive and legislative government officials that passed this bill simultaneously oversee and protect mass counterfeiting of currency and consumption bonds, to create illusions of ability to pay, integrity, and solvency of $16.5 trillion debt that can’t be legitimately paid! They’re actively cooking the books and turning up their good news media indoctrination… because their accounting function is “cowed” and corrupt!

The process of creating trillions of zero risk debt for immediate consumption not only destroys the capital; it will collapse and enslave our nation! Bottom line, it doesn’t matter why crooks rob banks, we arrest them and rub their noses in the fullest measures of law and justice. Prosecute them into oblivioun!

Our executives have created a diversionary war between working citizens and the capital they create. Imagine, unions actually winning their war against their pension plan capitalism… and eventually realizing unfunded liability means there will be no golden egg because they killed the golden goose (the growth funds that provide bountiful pensions at retirement)! Those same executives “protect” the average worker’s SSI, and unfortunately that which is coveted disappears in a smoke screen. After 46 years of deposits, average workers expect $1235/mo ($192,660 13 year 0%ROI payback to age 78). Officials demand higher taxes or benefit cuts because they’re using 2.8 worker deposits to pay one retiree benefit, meaning officials consumed all of your capital! Not one official has disclosed the fact that the same stream of worker deposit money in and back earning a mere 5% would be $1,311,588 – that’s a mathematical fact, not opinion!

It’s the US government’s war against capitalism! If average workers understood that the capital, that provides wealth, jobs, and ever increasing standards of living for everyone would also make them $1.3 millionaires at age 65 for the same cost as government’s phony SSI $1235/mo. The choice is simple – capital with a reasonable rate of return or government thieves who consume everything they touch and zero ROI! Average workers who lose it all! Show them how to win – share information!

It’s a war of survival – redirect it against executive-legislative branches of government

Debt Ceiling? I say, shut em down. The H$LL with this! In the “private sector”, payroll companies couldn’t issue payroll checks yesterday due to this “boondoggle”.

    • Steve E

The best thing to happen to this country is not raise the dept ceiling and to shut down the government and let everyone fend for themselves with their friends and family (maybe they will learn something the hard way). I say bring it on. But that would be too good to happen.

      • Bill

        You are right, Steve E
If they shut the government down, I am sure we would all miss the IRS

      • JC

Bill, not to put too fine a point on it…
The IRS is the collection wing of the (non) Federal (no) Reserve (s) Bank.
And no, no body would miss them.

The GOP should know better than to deal and bargain with the Devil.

      • http://www.facebook.com/rhonda.reichel Rhonda Reichel

The GOP is the devil too….it’s not just the demoncrats.
Look what they did to Ron Paul this last election and try to tell me they are honorable
85% of incumbents get reelected….that just proves the voters are jackasses

      • momo

Rhonda Reichel says: “85% of incumbents get reelected….that just proves the voters are jackasses”

It also proves the districts have been gerrymandered.

    • larry ryan

They ALL need to go. Not all except my guy or all except your guy. Every last one of them. And then term limits. No more career polititians. Serve one or two terms from a sense of duty for low or no pay and no perks and no pensions and then go back to real life.
But first and foremost, next election, ALL incumbents must go. Party is irrelevant. With some clear overlap, Democrats are proving, one and all, to be voracious predators and Republicans are proving, one and all, to be weasly cowards. ALL must go. And new rules put in place. Get caught lying, automatic and immediate dismissal and forbidden to ever serve in public office again. Misuse public office for personal gain or to aid cronies, upon conviction, immediate dismissal and criminal charges carrying severe jail time and fines as penalties.
It needs to be codified and ENFORCED. Public office is a duty and a privilege. Not an elite position where the office holder carves out his/her little above-the-law kingdom dispensing favors at whim and to whomever kisses the royal butt best.

      • SteveH

        Larry,

You are so right, we have to get rid of everyone in congress today. Unfortunately it won’t happen at the ballot box. Why do you think they want to get rid of the guns?

    • http://www.facebook.com/benjamin.fox.98892 Benjamin Fox

The commies are in seventh heaven today, their dictator-in-chief has just enslaved a bunch of idiots and they are too dumb to know it. I guess they never read Marx? And I bet they can name a lot of countries doing well under socialism? Like heck, they are being ripped apart in Europe because of their systems and they want the U.S. to join the down fall. LOL I’m sure eddie, teddy is getting drunk on his 47 ways to be a commie today, sit’s on his brain all day thinking about his next hand out.

change is not going to come from washington, both parties are the same and incapable of change. it is up to us. get out of debt, plant a garden, get to know your neighbors, store up some food, learn what edible (weeds) plants grow all around you, lets take this planet back from the money changers

    • Bill

      But don’t tell anyone,
There is 47% of the population that feel they are entitled to what you have and will steal it from you. Get some guns also

  • “Homer”

I have thought that this so called U.S.A. Corporation (i.e. 1913 W.Wilson and the newly formed Fed Reserve, a civilian corp) was bankrupt! just feeding off of stocks and bonds that are worthless and yet reaping fiat Money created out of thin air and w/out disgression! With any other corporation, when the RED ink appears something has to be done “OR” go under or belly up as it were! With the Fed Reserve it is just create more “FIAT” money and live off the tax payer and yada, yada, yada..NOT very sound fiscal responsibility is it? they get away from it and yet we’d be in bankruprtcy court to give it up to the creditors…Sounds so HYPOCRITICAL!!!

    • JC

The bold effort the present (central) bank had made to control the government … are but premonitions of the fate that await the American people should they be deluded into a perpetuation of this institution or the establishment of another like it.

Gentlemen, I have had men watching you for a long time and I am convinced that you have used the funds of the bank to speculate in the breadstuffs of the country. When you won, you divided the profits amongst you, and when you lost, you charged it to the bank. You tell me that if I take the deposits from the bank and annul its charter, I shall ruin ten thousand families. That may be true, gentlemen, but that is your sin! Should I let you go on, you will ruin fifty thousand families, and that would be my sin! You are a den of vipers and thieves.

I am one of those who do not believe that a national debt is a national blessing, but rather a curse to a republic; inasmuch as it is calculated to raise around the administration a moneyed aristocracy dangerous to the liberties of the country.

      Andrew Jackson

Can anyone STOP an avalanche? NO…so stop hoping for a miracle and hope and change in this situation! IT IS NOT going to happen, man always ends in Apostocy and paganism! that’s where we are right now! There is ONLY one course this nation and this world will follow: the SAME cycle man has followed from the garden of Eden…and that is destruction! man always ends in a mess w/out God, and that is where it will wind up! STUDY History: study U.S.A,. History and world history and church history! IT allllllll ends up in a junk heap and ends in trouble! Man goes in cycles and they are continuous and they never end any differant and man NEVER learns by what past history has shown him! So….instead of hoping in man and his change and his so-called abilities etc HOPE IN GOD!! Acts 24:15…Put your TRUST in God/Jesus Christ Psa 118:8 KJV Obama hasn’t a clue about hope and change his change is only temporary, The Lord’s HOPE is eternal 1 Peter 3:18 KJV

Ben, great analysis. Hi ho, hi ho, it’s over the cliff we go, said the lemmings/rats as they followed the Pied Piper merrily along the way. I see no end to the shaft as long as we have one party in DC–the Shaft the Voters party, consisting of democRATS and republiCRAPS along with the foreign fraud posing as our president. I admit it, I am despondent for the future of America. God save us!!

  • 45caliber

Let’s let the country go off that “cliff”. Then maybe Congress would be forced to actually earn their pay (for once) by coming up with a way to stop that deficiet.

I know when I have a “fiscal cliff” in my personal financing, I can’t simply decide to go borrow more money. The bank won’t lend it to me. So I have to do something that Congress MUST do sooner or later – cut my spending. So let’s get it over with.

  • Bruce

throw them all out every election, both parties, until the evil is purged from our government (might take a lot of voting cycles to “PURIFY” our government). 1000′s

  • rb

Did we expect less? The purge began immediately after the “election”. Conservative Republicans were removed from committees and Republicrats were put in their place. For crying out loud they’re planning on putting Boner (intentional) back in charge as Mouse of the House. Did anyone ever notice the recent article stating that 11 states now have more people living off the government than in private secor jobs. Guess who’s home state is high on that list. Boner’s late great state of Ohio. Hmmm.

  • Jim

I hope things swing the other way, but it looks pretty bad and may get worse soon.
God will come back before we destroy ourselves. THATS THE TRUTH

  • Walter & Renee Agard

God is here already only we a sinner cant see him, because of our wicked mind.

“Democrats war on the Bill of Rights”?

Who signed The Patriot Act into law? Republican George Bush.
Who would eliminate birth control pills and all other contraceptives,
and abortions as choices for married and unmarried couples? The Catholic Church, and
its little helpers in the conservative republican right.
Who first went to China as President? Republican Richard Nixon.

Lost Jobs, Lost Revenue, Lost Hope?
Who as president inherited a balanced federal budget and declining federal
deficit, and a booming economy and bequeathed federal budget deficits
and an economy losing 800,000 jobs a month. Republican George Bush.

I’m no friend of Obama or democrats, but reality tells me they are doing much
better running the country than Bush and republicans did and they probably will
remain running the country for twenty years unless republicans wake up and
realize how they dug their own grave.
