Our Lying Media And The Budget Battle

April 15, 2011 by

Our Lying Media And The Budget Battle

I don’t know when I have ever seen a bigger bunch of lies, distortions and deliberate misstatements by our national media than in the so-called budget debate that’s been taking place in Washington, D.C.

My nominee for the biggest offender is ABC News, which a week ago told the nation that “Republicans in Congress are prepared to shut down our government, and deny pay to our troops fighting overseas, in order to defund Planned Parenthood.”

Got that? Not only are Republicans the evil, nasty culprits responsible for the whole controversy. They will go so far as to deny pay to our soldiers, if necessary.

The only part of this pack of lies that had even a kernel of truth to it concerned the remarks about Planned Parenthood. I’ll get to that in a moment. But first, let me revisit some recent history about the dishonest and irresponsible politicians who created this mess in the first place.

Let me begin by pointing out that what’s at issue here is the budget for the Federal government’s operations for a fiscal year that began last October. In other words, our representatives are still arguing about how much to spend in a year that is already more than half over.

Why didn’t they come up with a budget before the year began? That’s what they’re supposed to do. That’s what the law says they should do. And frankly, that’s when they could have done anything they wanted, without all the current posturing and deceit. They had all the votes they needed to spend any amount they wanted on whatever their redistributionist little hearts desired.

Whose fault is it that the Democrats never came up with a budget back then? Clearly, the blame rests squarely on Barack Obama’s White House, Nancy Pelosi’s House and Harry Reid’s Senate. They had all the votes they needed. Why did they just sit on their hands?

So of course it’s the Republican majority in the House—something that didn’t exist before last November—that’s getting the blame now for the budget imbroglio.

Let me note in passing that even if government had been forced to shut down, every soldier and sailor serving Uncle Sam anywhere in the world would have been paid on time and in full. That’s also part of the law. They are considered “essential personnel” and are exempt from any furlough, even if much of government has to be shut down.

You will be aghast to learn that so are members of Congress and their staffs. Oh, some of them would probably have gone back to their home districts, to show their support for all of the folks being hurt by a shut-down. But you can bet that their paychecks would have continued to have been deposited in their banks when they were due.

Something else you need to know about this whole insane mess: We are talking about peanuts. Let’s look at the numbers for a moment. Currently, the Federal debt amounts to $14.2 trillion. Our masters in Washington have borrowed every penny the law allows. In fact, that’s the reason for the current war of words. If Congress won’t raise the debt ceiling, the government can’t borrow any more money. If it can’t borrow any more money, it can’t pay for all the boondoggles and giveaways that are already law.

The deficit is already scheduled to grow by $1.6 trillion this year. In other words, even if Congress can’t agree on spending one more dollar this year, we taxpayers are already on the hook for our government to fork over $1.6 trillion more than it collects in taxes.

The deficit for February (the shortest month of the year!) was $223 billion. That was the largest single deficit of any month in our country’s history.

Let me put it another way: The same day that Republicans in the House voted to cut spending by $6 billion, our national debt jumped by $72 billion. That’s $72 billion in new deficits, every day of the week, every week of the year.

Here’s an analogy your neighbors might understand. Say a penny represents $1 billion. Right now, our Federal debt equals 15,800 pennies. The pile is growing by 72 pennies every day.

So far, Republican budget cutters have removed 10 pennies. Meanwhile, the Democrats offered to remove 4.5 pennies. That’s it; that’s all the fat they said could be found in the budget. That comes to about one-sixteenth of the number of new pennies they want to borrow each and every day to fund their favorite socialist schemes.

The Democrats’ response to all of this is simple: Call anyone who disagrees with them an extremist. New York’s whacko senator, Charles Schumer, admitted as much. In a conference call with other Senate Democrats, the point man for their messaging told them to “always use [the word] ‘extreme.’ That’s what the caucus instructed me to do the other week. ‘Extreme cuts.’ ‘Extreme and draconian.’”

Immediately after the call, California Senator Barbara Boxer dutifully picked up the theme.

“We Senate Democrats are calling on Speaker Boehner to abandon the extreme right wing of his Republican caucus,” she said. Boxer was followed at the podium by Senator Tom Carper of Delaware, Ben Cardin of Maryland, and Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut. And guess what? Each and every one of them used the word “extreme” or “extremist” when he spoke. Conspiracy? Why, whatever gave you that idea?

The other thing that is essential to understand is that Barack Obama doesn’t care about any of this. All he cares about is getting re-elected next year. Everything he does, every plan and program he promotes, in fact, every word that comes out of his mouth, is carefully calculated to do one thing and only one thing: help him win re-election.

While he pays lip service to how terrible it is to bury our children and our children’s children under a mountain of debt, you must understand he doesn’t mean a word of it. “Good” is what helps him keep his job; “bad” is whatever reduces the chances of that happening.

Oh, about defunding Planned Parenthood. Many Republicans believe it is a sin to take money from taxpayers and use it to kill unborn babies. That is why they want Federal subsidies to Planned Parenthood stopped. Under their proposal, the money that would have gone to this so-called charity would instead go the States, which could then give it to whomever or whatever they wished.

The Democrats, who argue so loudly and long for “free choice” when it comes to aborting babies, are furious at the idea of letting the States have free choice with taxpayers’ money. They’re afraid (quite rightly, I’m sure) that some of those choices would mean no money for their favorite supporters. To which all I have to say is; it’s about time.

Since you can be absolutely certain that this crisis won’t be resolved any time soon, I’ll be returning to this subject again and again in the weeks and months to come. While we can wish it were otherwise, the possibility that our leaders in Washington will require our government to live within its means is zero. With Obama in the White House and the dishonest and despicable Harry Reid controlling the Senate, the best we can hope for is to slow the tsunami of spending by a bucket or two.

Let’s take whatever minor victories we can get today—and plan to win the biggest battles of them all next year.

Until next time, keep some powder dry.

Media = Garbage! The Leftard media ABC, CBS, NBC/MSNBC, CNN To busy setting up for their radical Democrap candidates and FOX is setting up their lame Repubican candidates,The Lame pee yellow stain media dumb down people they became clueless same as Left controlled public education, College/University dumb down people! The leftard media is hollywood scripted, FOX becoming sad state! Gee if the US turd media would start growing some ba lls and start being 100% unbiased and report REAL news, and never endorse, support Politicians both D & R, report the pros and cons on both D & R and give real facts about them, So people can use their brains for once, Then we can elect real good candidates and not Hacks from D & R!

    • Jeremy Leochner

Stan I have really only two comments against your post. One thing I would like to point out is the media by its duty, nature and purpose must inherently be somewhat liberal in that they must not defend the status quo but rather question it. That being said bias of any sort is wrong. Though I would like to point out its hard to believe that the media has a liberal bias when the highest rated and most watched news channel is Fox News an organization that is certainly known for not having a liberal bias.
My second comment is on education. I am a student at Community College and intend to transfer to University. I have always been encouraged to ask questions and learn from the schools I have attended. I would like to ask what you mean by dumb down though.

      • FreedomFighter

We are at a pivot point in history:

Progressive/Liberal-Socialist/Communist takeover of America, that will lead to a repressive/regulated totalitarian nightmare, lack of freedom and liberty, limited opportunity, high taxation-wellfair state or worse.

        Or

…back to the constitution based free society our fathers and previous generations enjoyed. Freedom, liberty, equality under the law, the ability to pursue happyness and keep the rewards of thier hard labor and not have it forced into some goverment redistribution program.

        You have to ask yourself:

Do you want your children to grow up in a totalitarian welfare state run by thugs? What price are you willing to pay to keep them free?

Then pay that price, because freedom is a priceless gift, given to those willing to fight for it.

In addition, Trump seems the only one so far with a set a stones besides the women republican candidates, he is showing the limp-dicks how to deal with the demonrats and Obama.

Freedom Fighter…. You are so correct! When I first learned of Donald Trump challenging the birth certificate issue, I thought this is good because he should have the means to really dig into this. And when it was mentioned that he may be thinking of running for president I was skeptical at best. The more I listen to him and hear what he has to say and how he conducts interviews, I am becoming more convinced that he needs to go through with throwing his hat in the ring. It’s time to get back to basics. I can’t wait to see him do a debate with Barry. He will wipe the floor with him!

          • bob wire

Robin , Trump is only a show pony. Sorry ~ find another, he is just pulling your chain as it’s easy to pull and he enjoys the ratings and attention.

          • bohemian

Robin – I, too am glad DJT is making noise. I doubt he really wants to run for President, though. He is very successful, rules over his own empire, does whatever he wants to do, doesn’t have people second-guessing everything he does, doesn’t have the media up his behind day in and day out, etc. At this point in his life, why would he want to give up all that? What I do hope is that DJT recognizes that Ø is bad for everything American, and is trying to unseat this illegitimate impostor, hopefully before his first term is up. Just yesterday, asked what is the best thing about America, Ø says it is the welfare programs. How scary is that?
What DJT needs to do, and I know he has made inquiries in this regard, is to focus on the natural-born citizen requirement to be President. Natural-born = born on US soil with 2 US citizen parents. Everyone knows that Ø’s father was never a US citizen (not to mention that his mother was too young to confer citizenship). This needs to be acknowledged by the courts, by Congress, by some authority, so proceedings can commence to remove Ø from office, in disgrace.
Yes, the BC would be nice, but what happens if suddenly a long-form BC surfaces with all the info, signatures, etc.? Obviously it would be a forgery, but look how long the COLB has hung around, with people still saying it is real, even though an official in Hawaii has said she doesn’t know what that document is. He could conceivably serve another term while a forged long-form BC is paraded around.
Another reason he may not release ANY of his records (school records, passports, etc) is that they are all in the name ‘Barry Soetoro’, and his name was never legally changed to BØ. How far would you get signing, say, mortgage documents, as ‘Marilyn Monroe’? How far would I get renewing my driver’s license by signing ‘Groucho Marx’? DJT is on the right path asking for all these hidden records also.
Right now, with no additional documents, the focus should be: BØ Sr. never a US citizen = BARACK OBAMA NOT ELIGIBLE to be President. End of discussion – no additional documents needed.

          • oldtimeyman

Robin – I’m sure we will all discover IF Trump mounts a presidential campaign, that he will turn out to be another Ross Perot. The Republican/Independent vote will be split and Ovomit will be re-elected.

IMHO, Trump is not and never will be a viable candidate.

          • Denniso

There is only one group of people in our country who have not suffered or struggled during the past 2 yrs of the crash, recession and slow recovery…anyone guess who? Single parents, small biz owners, builders, plumbers, average working men/women,college students???

No, the only group who have escaped intact and w/ no struggle at all during these almost unprecedented tough times, are the wealthy! The top 10% have skated free of trouble and gotten tax cuts so they can do even better. EVERYONE else has had to cut back or lost their job or home…many have lost small businesses and had to keep working long after retirement age,if they could find a job. The rich, everything is fine and dandy and some are even making more money than before…where’s the real people’s revolution,as opposed to the phony tea party?

          • Bruce D.

Robin I like Trump more and more all the time. He is the only male that is putting it all on the line and has some good ideas. I respect him for that. The rest of the men just aren’t putting themselves out there like Palin and Bachman do all the time. I think they fear the criticism that always comes with being outspoken and Trump always comes off as fearless dealing with the press. I am not looking for a nice guy, laid back president. If the election were held today I would vote for Trump. Considering that one month ago I didn’t even like him as a person that is saying a lot.

          • Thamera

How do you know who struggles with what Denniso. Except for your apparent envy for people that have more than you…how do you know what someone is going through, wealthy or poor? Go to any country, Denniso, any country on the map and you will find wealthy people – your comment is a big so what? You might also keep in mind that it is the “wealthy” that are the first to get their land confiscated and their heads chopped of, entire families slaughtered, life savings and work wiped out during a revolution. Does that make you feel any better?

“You might also keep in mind that it is the “wealthy” that are the first to get their land confiscated and their heads chopped of, entire families slaughtered, life savings and work wiped out during a revolution. Does that make you feel any better?”

That is probably what Denniso is hoping for so he can try and grab a bit of it for himself.

          • Lastmanstanding

Robin, i’m with oldtimeyman. I love what trump says, but he is not the answer…The answer is The US constitution and the libertarian party is the closest to that. Ron and Rand Paul are the only answer.

The founders wanted us to take care of ourselves and stay out of other peoples business…I think that says it all.

          • RoyfromKs

I’ve said it before, Donald Trump has made some pretty good statements about what he would do if he was President! Now let him tell us all how he intends to get this all through Congress! No problem in the House but when he comes up against Harry Reid, how will he handle him? If Trump can answer this question for legit, he’ll get a lot of votes including mine! Out of all the people wanting to run for President, Trump is the only one offering to go after Obama’s falsehood! That alone, if successful will get him elected! Are all the other canidates afraid of Obama or of the press? This is a good place for Fox News to score more points with the public!

Is this the same Donald Trump whose real estate empire that he inherited from his dad went bankrupt under his watch? The same Donald Trump real estate empire that received a government bail out in the 90′s? Maybe I’m wrong, but Donald Trump is all bark and no bite. He has no legs to stand on in the eyes of this beholder.

          • usmadgirl

FreedomFighter, Robin From Arcadia IN, Bruce D & RoyfromKs,

I’m going to have to disagree with you on the Trump candidacy. I think it’s great that he’s going after O’Dumbo’s illegitimacy, because nobody can convince me that he is a legal citizen. There is too much evidence to the contrary & where there’s smoke there’s usually fire. He’s spent entirely too much money to keep all his records (the one who promised he was going to be the most transparent president ever – another LIE) hidden from the people he’s supposed to be leading. BUT, please don’t let someone else suck the country into another idiotic decision.

Like I said on a couple of other topics, Donald Trump is just another greedy, power hungry narcissist. In his interview with Hannity, it was I, I, I, my, my, my! He’s been “the greatest at everything”. I know you have to have self-confidence to even think about running for president, but we don’t need another narcissist in the White House. Trump has done everything he could possibly do. He’s reached his goals. Has it occurred to you that maybe this is just another quest for him to do possibly the one thing he hasn’t conquered? Yes, he definitely knows how to make a butt load of money & is a good businessman, but does that qualify him to lead the country? I wonder how many people he’s stepped on & destroyed to get to where he is?

Don’t get me wrong. Maybe he’s concerned about the road to destruction O’Dumbo is taking us down, but he changes his mind like a woman trying to decide what to wear to a party. He doesn’t know whether he’s a Dumbocrap or a Republican, a conservative or a progressive, pro choice or pro life. He was dumb enough to vote for O’Dumbo & has admittedly contributed to the campaigns of many Dumbocraps. So how can we trust that he won’t change his mind in mid-stream if he’s elected?

We HAVE to have a steadfast candidate that is brilliant in domestic & foreign issues, economic & military issues, a constitutional conservative patriotic AMERICAN who believes that capitalism is not dead & someone who isn’t ashamed of this great country & everything it stands for. We need someone who’s dynamic & can form a complete sentence WITHOUT a teleprompter. We need someone who is the exact opposite of the Kenyan, Muslsim Communist in OUR house now.

If Trump wins the Republican nomination, I’ll HAVE to vote for him like I HAD to vote for McCain in order to TRY to oust this illegal abomination we have now, but if he doesn’t & runs on an independent ticket, O’Dumbo will be elected & it won’t take 4 more years to completely finish off the country & be part of the NWO. I’m still not sure we’ll make it to the 2012 election.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            USmadgirl,
Very good post!! Very insightful as well. I still say if he is so easily fooled by Nobummer the first time around, when we the people could see through him, then we don’t need him as our choice!! He voted FOR nobummer the first time and now he is against him?? A man who is used to making split second decisions on money every day and he can’t see through Nobummer??? I will be very suprised if his “investigation” into Nobummers BC goes anywhere at all!!

No, the only group who have escaped intact and w/ no struggle at all during these almost unprecedented tough times, are the wealthy! The top 10% have skated free…

Hey Denniso, see if you can wrap your Anti-American little mind around this:

THE TAX SYSTEM EXPLAINED IN BEER

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100…

If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this…

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
            The fifth would pay $1.
            The sixth would pay $3.
            The seventh would pay $7.
            The eighth would pay $12.
            The ninth would pay $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

So, that’s what they decided to do..

The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve ball. “Since you are all such good customers,” he said, “I’m going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20″. Drinks for the ten men would now cost just $80.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes So the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But what about the other six men ? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his fair share?

They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody’s share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer.

So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man’s bill by a higher percentage the poorer he was, to follow the principle of the tax system they had been using, and he proceeded to work out the amounts he suggested that each should now pay.

And so the fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% saving).
The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33% saving).
The seventh now paid $5 instead of $7 (28% saving).
The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% saving).
The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% saving).
The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% saving).

Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to drink for free. But, once outside the bar, the men began to compare their savings.

“I only got a dollar out of the $20 saving,” declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man,”but he got $10!”

“Yeah, that’s right,” exclaimed the fifth man. “I only saved a dollar too. It’s unfair that he got ten times more benefit than me!”

“That’s true!” shouted the seventh man. “Why should he get $10 back, when I got only $2? The wealthy get all the breaks!”

“Wait a minute,” yelled the first four men in unison, “we didn’t get anything at all. This new tax system exploits the poor!”

The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.

The next night the tenth man didn’t show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had their beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn’t have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill!

And that, boys and girls, journalists and government ministers, is how our tax system works.
The people who already pay the highest taxes will naturally get the most benefit from a tax reduction.
Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore.
In fact, they might start drinking overseas, where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

            Sorry,but I don’t bother w/silly,overly long children’s stories,ostensibly written by economists.

My point stands as obvious as the nose growing on Repubs…the wealthy are the only people in the country who are not struggling w/ the slow economy. Our wealthy pay the lowest tax rate compared to most other industrialized countries, and some even have said that they should be paying more in taxes.

The wealthiest 400 people make more ea yr than the lower 1/2 of the entire country…that’s about 400 vs 155 million people. Anyone see Paul Allen on 60 mins last night? The excessive wealth and obnoxious spending was almost unbelievable. He had a cruise ship built for himself,w/ it’s own submarine carried onboard so he could play underwater. He owns a large collection of vintage war planes that has to be worth a billion $$ alone. I wonder if he could pay 10% more in taxes to help balance our spending w/ revenue?

You need beer drinking stories to try to understand economics and taxation, that’s fine…I don’t need kid’s stories since I can actually read, think and understand the real information….good luck.

          • Denniso

I like math. The beer story is more like elementary school arithmetic,I don’t think there is anything to be learned from that.

        • DaveH

Way back in the late 70s, after Carter totally trashed our economy, folks had a chance to do the right thing and elect people that truly understand the wisdom of Limited Government and Freedom. You ignored them, and instead pinned your hopes on Republicans. I’m excluding Reagan from this, because (bless his heart) he did an extraordinary job, but it wasn’t possible to succeed because he had his own limp-wristed party members dragging him down.
Now, you have another chance to open your eyes and vote wisely, but what do you do? You advocate putting a lifelong political sycophant into office, solely based on him having the huevos to challenge Obama’s birth place. Donald Trump is a Trojan Horse. He is not going to shrink Government dramatically like it needs to be if we are to once again become a properous nation.
Is it because, as Republicans, you are so narrowly focused on controlling other peoples’ personal choices that you just can’t bring yourself to embracing Freedom? If so, you deserve where we are headed. I don’t.

An even bigger problem is Socialism/Communism is coming town by town, City by City…they just came to the city I live in!! We have little time to push back on this, it’s part of the UN’s Agenda 21!! Please look at this video, and pass it on!!!! You have to fox the (dot)!

EddieW – I clicked on your link and got the “Oops, the link appears to be broken” thing. This is happening more and more with great links.

Yes, Agenda 21 is moving fast. Where I live, many people have really balked at Smartmeters, including me. So far, I don’t have one, but most people just gave in and let them do it. One lady I know has been constantly harrassed until she let them in, but I flat told them NO! The are even putting them in when you are away from home.

Some were warning about the evil of Agenda 21 for many years, but we weren’t listening. Now it’s here. I watched my neighbor open her door to them without a second thought.

I live right in a red zone, part of the land O just claimed as federal land.

The chemtrails here have been continuous for 2 years now, For about 9 months of the year we wake up to thick skies and they stay that way all day. Sometimes the sun is visible through a haze, as they always spray right in front of the sun, even if nowhere else. If we do get a bit of “clear” sky, it is soon sprayed over.

Anyway, I hope that people watch this video. Everyone needs to know, because it is going on NOW.

I hear you. I live in a blue, blue state and of course, the budget is in the red, why? because of their waste with the so called social programs which end up being used as rackets.
We also have translators for any foreign language you desire for free, specially if you have to go to court for criminal activity or any other type of hearing, and your voting ballots also come in several languages.
It is of no use to contact my legislator or the senators. We are probably not far off from California’s fate. so what do the socialists do here? close the hard core prisons and let a lot of the prisoners go free. But I bet you they are not dismissing the foreign translators, god knows they are very well paid and for this government is money well spent. This is just one example of many. If people who come here refuse to learn English, let them pay for their own translators.

        ******************************************************
Jeremy ,,,That explains most of your posts and your liberal thoughts ….
You’re a student convinced that you’re actually learning from the school you attended, I mustadmit, they have done a super job at doing what they do best, stripping people of their common sense………

        • bob wire

Jeremy ~ consider the source. It’s these people quest in life to tear down anything that is bigger, brighter or more successful then they are.

This the class of the “chapped ass”, they are 1.3 million strong and very, very noise.

Most of them probably don’t even carry a BA degree.

          • Carlucci

bob w – who are you talking about?

          • Mick

A BA Degree refers to the degree given to graduates who have focused their studies on the fields of liberal arts and the humanities.

I wouldn’t be caught dead carrying such degree it would make me one of you……..Scary……..

            Hello Bob
Apparently you don’t have a clue to the amount of Liberal indoctrination that is being perpetrated on the college youth of this country. Lucky for me that I started college in my thirties and that I was already a well rounded conservative. Nearly every class that I took in college had some sort of Liberal slant. Most of the professors were if not radical at least arrogant and disrespectful to anyone conservative. Many times I had to keep my mouth shut just to pass their course. If I spoke up in some classes my grades suffered for it. I am a science major with two degrees. As a Christian it was tough being a science major. Evolution was shoved down my throat every day, even though that most top biologists today admit that Evolution is not possible. Open your eyes Bob before its to late for you and for our precious country.

          • JeffH

bob, I thought you were through with this website yet you keep coming back singing the liberal tune like a canary. All of your “progressive wisdom” is lost when you flap your lips. The one who seems to be buying into false pretenses seems to be YOU!
Find a grassroots Tea Party meeting in your local area and get a real education, you could use it.

          • Thamera

Right there with you SoCalBob and so true. At one point I was interested in Ethics in Medicine and took several science classes. At one point, I couldn’t hold back my opinion any longer and asked my instructor, as she was driveling on and on about evolution, if she thought as a general populace we could then be de-evolving in some cases. She wasn’t very happy with me after that, but because I was a non-trad student (27) at the time, I could of cared less. Sidenote: When I started my college education at 19, I was just as “pie in the sky” as Jeremy. Real life has a way of waking you up, real quick…

          • Lewis Munn

          • usmadgirl

            bob wire,

A “degree” doesn’t make you “smart”. You can’t fix “stupid” with or without a “degree”!

Why don’t you go back & look at the errors in your comment where you were telling everyone how “stupid” we are?

        • Vigilant

Jeremy says, “I have always been encouraged to ask questions and learn from the schools I have attended. I would like to ask what you mean by dumb down though.”

Of course you’re encouraged to ask questions! The vast majority of college level professors are admitted socialists/liberals. That’s not an opinion, it’s a well known fact. Ask them any kind of question and guess what kind of answer you’ll get. Capitalism is out and socialism is in.

As for dumbing down, that should be obvious. High school graduates know less about a wide range of subjects than they did 50 years ago.
Math/science are almost forgotten about, to the extent that industry has to go to China and India for expertise. American history has been revised and multiculturalized to accentuate the bad and not the great about our nation. The Constitution is no longer taught in many schools.

The qualifications for a teaching certificate are lower than to become a business admin. graduate. Teachers are dumber in their chosen fields than they were 50 years ago. English majors no longer are required to read the classics, even Shakespeare. Jefferson, the author of the Declaration of Independence, has been removed from some history textbooks. And SAT scores have suffered so badly since the mid-60s that the test had to be dumbed down so more could pass.

The list could go on and on.

          • wandamurline

Absolutely, Jeremy if you want to ask questions, extend you base of receipents of whom to ask. Don’t just listen to the teachers (if you want to call them that) be bold and ask people of the older generations, do research on your own to get the answers. The truth is out there, but you won’t get much of it from your professors.

          • wandamurline

One other thing…we need to defund the Department of Education at the federal level…keep our tax monies in the state and teach our kids ourselves without all the mandates from the feds. Our kids use half the school year to prepare to take the Task test…ridiculous. We had tests when I was in school that decided if we went to another grade and they called them FINALS. We need to go back to actually teaching the kids, not spend time on teaching them to take tests. We need to set higher goals for our kids…if we don’t, they will not have the skills we had when I graduated in the 60′s…and that will be a shame.

          • Vigilant

            wandamurline,

I agree 100%. If we could do away with the Depts. of Education and Energy, both of which have miserably failed in their stated aims, we would be able to balance the budget and reduce the debt in no time flat.

It’s truly tragic that NO candidate out there, with the possible exception of Ron/Rand Paul, has the courage to advocate those moves.

I, too, graduated in the 1960s, and I’m eternally grateful that we had knowledgeable teachers, not propagandists, in the classrooms.

          • Jeremy Leochner

Vigilant I have never had any professor say anything about the good or bad of capitilism versus socialism even in my economics and government classes. Its always been about basic information not personal opinion. As to math, science and english I agree our country has fallen in its standards. However as to history please give me an example of history being made to accentuate the bad and ignore the good. Because for the sack of argument history should be about what did happen not what we wished had happened.

          • Vigilant

            Jeremy says,

“Vigilant I have never had any professor say anything about the good or bad of capitilism versus socialism even in my economics and government classes.”

That fact alone proves my point. If the professors cannot acknowledge that the free enterprise system, a direct outgrowth of individual freedom and self-determination, was the major factor in propelling our nation to its great heights, then they are indeed socialist. If they failed to compare the two systems, or in any way imparted that the systems are equal in nature and outcomes, then your money has been wasted on an education.

“However as to history please give me an example of history being made to accentuate the bad and ignore the good. Because for the sack of argument history should be about what did happen not what we wished had happened.”

There are almost too many examples in recent times. Eric Bischoff on this site has been known to quote Howard Zinn’s “A People’s History of the United States,” written by a known communist and with an obvious leftist agenda. That book has been used in many high school/college courses, and it’s a travesty.

You may also wish to see http://www.aolnews.com/2010/03/12/texas-removes-thomas-jefferson-from-teaching-standard/ , entitled “Texas Yanks Thomas Jefferson From Teaching Standard.” To partially quote:

“Widely regarded as one of the most important of all the founding fathers of the United States, Thomas Jefferson received a demotion of sorts Friday thanks to the Texas Board of Education.

The board voted to enact new teaching standards for history and social studies that will alter which material gets included in school textbooks. It decided to drop Jefferson from a world history section devoted to great political thinkers.”

In the past, school districts have quit teaching about Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson, to make room for multiculturalist nonsense.

The VFW and American Legion have protested the rewriting of WWII in history textbooks that would lead one to think that it was women and minorities who won the war.

            The list is almost endless.

You are right, history should be written to show the facts, not rewritten to reflect what some leftist thinks it should have been or was.

Very good responses, cograts for not being intimidated by all their BS. I especially like the “I’m older than you” as a reason to try to make you look stupid, but you held your own. Keep it up. Oh, I have been a senior citizen for some time and age has little to do with it, for those that gain wisdom over the years that a valid statement but for those that did not just makes them a struck in the mud mentality.

        • Jeremy Leochner

Mick in school I was never given any sort of ideology. I was only given information. Perhaps professors gave their individual spin on it but that in no way affected how I saw or could see it. My ideas were formed by me and me alone. The informtion I saw helped form them but they were with me to begin with. I believe in liberalism in the sincere belief that it is a good and practical ideology. I believe in liberalism as my own view. That was not taught to me, its what I already had. And bear in mind Mike there have been numerous things that I did not agree with from my teachers and I have always double checked what I was unsure about. In history which is a personal interest of mine I have always held my own beliefs and though I initially only knew what I was taught I have learned more from other sources and have a more well rounded view of numerous things. My views are not based on what I was taught, they are based on what I believe.

          • Jana

            Jeremy,
            Enough said.
You are a product of liberal schools with liberal agenda’s. You never had a chance. You just thought you weren’t given an ideology. You were just so young and naive you didn’t see it coming.

          • Kate8

Jeremy – You should watch this video. It will explain what people are trying to tell you.

            http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzEEgtOFFlM

          • Jeremy Leochner

Jana with all due respect I stated in my post as I often have that my ideology was amd is mine and mine alone. My dealing with people in my life, my own personal feelings and perhaps a little of my parents nuturing is how I developed my views not in a classroom based on what I was told but on what I had honestly thought and felt almost all my life. I have always held a deep sense of my own view of the world. I have known many a conservative, my closest friends and some relatives are intelligent good people who are conservative and have shown me their ideology over the years. I love debate and have always debated with them agreeing on some things but disagreeing on things I felt strongly about. That is how my ideology formed. I apologize for being brusque however I simply wish to say as I always have I was not told, taught, tricked into, or brainwashed into my ideals. They are what they are, they are my genuine beliefs based on what in my heart I feel is right. I believe what I believe because I believe, not because I was told to believe.

          • Karolyn

Jeremy – I am much older than you, having graduated from high school in 1965. I too have arrived at my own beliefs via my own methods, with no incluence of teachers or professors. The “leftist education” theory cannot be used when speaking of those like me who are seniors. I think your posts are sincere, polite and show an open mind. I can see that you are not an extremist, and neither am I. Most of the people on here are extremists and do not take into account anything that the other “side” has to say. They are totally closed-minded and refuse to give credence to ANYTHING you might say in opposition to their views.

          • Jana

            Jeremy,
The reason I replied to you the way I did, is I have been experiencing this with my own children. I have encouraged my daughters to come home and talk. We discuss a lot of things. They talk and talk and talk and sometimes it gets very old, but then all of a sudden they say something that they have been “taught” in school that is way out in left field. They have been taught some left wing socialist ideology.(This happens more and more the older they get) This gives me the opportunity to teach my daughters. I don’t jump in and tell them “You know better than that” or yell at them, I ask them why they think this is right? We discuss it.
It gives me the opportunity to show them another side.
Jeremy, you may truly like the liberal agenda, just as Obama stated in his book that he has always been drawn to the communist and socialist agendas, and has sought out and surrounded himself with these types of people.
Liberalism used to be an honorable stance, but it has become perverted. If you truly have your eyes so closed that you love this perversion of liberalism, and feel drawn towards communism and socialism, then nothing can open your eyes to truth. you sound like an intelligent young man, and I do hope you will always keep an open mind.
I used to be a liberal, and actually still am. It is now called conservative. Who knew the wording would change, but the ideals are still the same.

          • DaveH

Well, they tried to give you an escape route, Jeremy.
So you say “I believe in liberalism in the sincere belief that it is a good and practical ideology”.
What is “good” about helping yourself to other peoples’ property?
What is “good” about forcing your way on other people?
What is “practical” about following an ideology which results in economic impoverishment of every country that fully implements it?
See the countries at the bottom of the list for the results of Jeremy and buddies’ ideology:
            http://heritage.org/index/Ranking

          • Thamera

Jana I have experienced the same with my children as well and good questions DaveH. Karolyn, I would really like to know how you define extremist…

          • DaveH

Extremist is a word that Liberals (like Karolyn) use in an attempt to manipulate weak-minded people. And it isn’t hard to manipulate those who see visions of sugar plums dancing in the trough.
Note, by the way, that sweet innocent little Karolyn calls most of the people on this board “extremist”. Isn’t she the one who so passionately denies that she participates in any name-calling?

          • Jeremy Leochner

Dave with all due respect that is not what liberalism is and I know because I am a liberal. I have never at any time proposed or suggested helping myself to others money or property. Just because I want to increase taxes or cut spending or promote using an efficient government lead by compotent people and to try our hardest to get those good people into office does not mean I promote destroying freedom or stealing. The rights to life liberty and the pursuit of happeness are the cornerstone of my beliefs and I assure you I would never knowingly propose any idea or plan that would threaten those rights. And since I would never put anything in any plan or idea I propose to do such a thing I cannot believe it would hurt peoples life liberty and happiness. And bear in mind I only want what I think is a good idea to be done if people elect those with similar ideas and who then can successfully push them through. I really believe in my ideas but I would only want them used if those elected implemented them by majority vote. Finally as to the list I can see those on the bottom and I can also see those on top. One thing I would like to point out is America stands in 9th place and that countries commonly called “socialist” and “Leftist” like Canada and Australia are ranked higher in economic freedom. Countries with more official government involvment in the economy are officially ranked as having more economic freedom then the country that seems to pride itself on its free enterprise economy that is free of government regulation.

          • Jana

            Jeremy,
We used to be number 1 on that list. Its time to become number 1 again, but we won’t be if we become a Socialist or Communist Nation.
Capitalism is what made us great. In order to make us a Socialist nation, the ones with the socialist and communist agendas have to tear us down first. They sure are working hard at it right now.
This is why we are fighting against it. Socialism and Communism are against honoring God in their society also. I never hear you speak about where you stand with God.

          • Thamera

That you have high ideals Jeremy is plain to see…that you are lacking a healthy dose of reality is also very plain to see…that’s okay, we only get to be idealistic for a short time…well some remain that way their entire lives while refusing to see what is really going on around them…but then again, ignorance is bliss. You champion raising taxes Jeremy…what do you think taxes are? That my friend is called redistribution of wealth or some people think of it as “stealing.” There is a litany of examples, quotations and information that I could give you, but then I would be here all night. You might want to start by reading “The Proper Role of Government” if you are truly interested in knowing the mindset behind those of us who do not share your enthusiasm for redistribution of wealth a/k/a taxation.

          • DaveH

It’s probably useless to try to wake up Jeremy Leochner at this time, Thamera. He wants to believe in the “nobility” of Liberalism, and like an alcoholic he’s going to have to suffer some hard knocks before he wants to wake to reality.
When he finally wants to wake up, maybe he will start reading alternative points of view and realize how mistaken he is.

          • Jeremy Leochner

Thamera and Dave: I apologize for being in any way rude. I believe what I believe after many long arguments with many conservatives and after thinking long and hard about my ideals. Many a intelligent people with much experience in “the real world” have liberal and progressive beliefs. I dont believe in destroying liberty or freedom. I believe in raising taxes to bring income in and to cut spending to make less go out. I have seen countless sources on such matters, have listened to many people speak and have often disregarded some of my views, comprimised others and have held on to those I feel strongly about. I have formed my ideology and it is part of me. With respect I have no desire or intention to comprimise my stated views unless I can understand why I must. Believing in high ideals does not work without acting to make them real. I intend to act on my ideals and to be practical about it. The world is and can never be perfect. I know that but that does not mean I cannot work to make it better. Believing in Santa would most likely be called childish. But is it childish to believe that being good will be rewarded with good in kind. That is my view.
I desire to have a competent government to act as a helpful tool to maintain our domestic security and promote the general welfare. I would never support or condone total government takeover and I would never support redistribution of wealth. I believe currently the poor are being neglected for the sack of not neglecting the middle or rich but that does not mean I want to neglect the middle or rich. I want class negotiation not class warfare. This comes from one who hs learned the hard way time and again to think about what one says or believes. I used to be a far more radical person in terms of what I thought or said. I have learned to be more reasonable in my speech and more accepting of others and to be practical in pursuing my ideals. Though perhaps that has resulted in me being more firm in the ideals I retain. I believe what I believe as I always have. I have no desire to be close minded or to deny arguments but to some extent I do not wish to betray my values or ideals if I can help it. I disagree with conservativism but I do respect it. Perhaps I will become more conservative later in life in regards to some issues, but on others I doubt more “real world” experience will change me-at least on those ideals I hold dear. I will always try to be realistic in my goals. I am by nature one who deeply desires authenticity, honesty and reality. I desire reason to push through my ideals, not emotion. In the end I apologize if my ideas offend or disagree but I stand by them in the sincere belief that I am in the right. There may come a time to know if I am wrong but for now I still believe and shall continue so far as I can.

The reason FOX news has such a following and is the #1 news station on TV is because the alphabet news medias since Obama was elected have distorted, withheld the truth, and even lied to the American people. You can view it on The View, Good Morning America, and especially David Gregory on Sunday Morning Meet the Press. In a nutshell, I understand the CBS Katie Couric’s ratings are so low that she may not be renewed at the end of her contract this year, and I truly hope so, because I stopped watching her sorry butt when she raped over Sarah Palin’s pregnant teenage daughter…that was totally uncalled for. The alphabet news are losing viewers right and left as they are no longer news medias, they are campaign promoters for the liberal progressives, and when Soros owns them, they can be nothing more.

        • http://personalliberty.com frank

wanderline truly a great and very TRUE post that is why their ratings are higher than all those rest combined. The liberals know this and it gnaws at their insides.

        • JeffH

wandamurline, pretty well said and I agree.

      • Bob

Your post is a lie – today’s status quo is lieberal distortion and the only one of the MSM to question the status quo is FOX. Questioning the status quo is not a function of lieberalism because that requires a thirst for the truth and the lieberalism is a lie from start to finish. The fact that FOX is popular is a lie wrapped in the truth (a typical lieberal tactic) – yes FOX is conservative, but the majority of the media whether print, movies, TV shows, or “news” outlets is firmly in the hands of the liars and propagandists of the left. Your statement is, therefore, a true statement given to give a false impression, i.e. it is a lie. As far as being encouraged to ask questions in college, that also is a lie, at least on most college campuses – in lieberal controlled colleges conservatives and Christians are harrassed and shouted down when they speak the truth against the lie of the lieberals.

        • Vigilant

          Good posting Bob,

The libs have been not only playing with the truth, they play with the very definition of liberalism. A few months back, some leftist idiot tried to proudly assert that the Founding Fathers were liberal, and that therefore the left could be identified with them.

While technically correct, the very concept of today’s liberals being identified with the principles of the Founders is absolutely disgraceful and pure propaganda. The Founders would turn over in their graves to hear such pap.

        • Karolyn

Bob – You sure throw around that “lie” word an awful lot! How can you possibly believe that such a large portion of the American population are liars? Think about it, Bob. It really is a stupid thing to say, and I resent someone calling me a liar, since I am not! Is someone a liar just because YOU think they’re a liar. Does it make you feel better about yourself, Mr. holier-than-thou. C’mon, Bob, get real!

          • Jana

            Karolyn,
Go back to the very first post on this site. That is who he is talking to, not you.

          • Thamera

You will find Jana, that some people on this forum have very “thin skin” and take offense very easily, they think everything is about them…

          • DaveH

Actually, Karolyn, I’ve know very few people who won’t lie to gain advantage of others. Unfortunately. All you need do is pay attention to what Obama says from one speech to the other to see all the contradictions. If a person says one thing to one group, and then another thing to another group, he has to be lying in one of those statements.

      • DaveH

Thanks for revealing that you’re a student, Jeremy. I figured that you were young, judging by your naivete.
Think about what you said “Though I would like to point out its hard to believe that the media has a liberal bias when the highest rated and most watched news channel is Fox News”.

Let’s say Fox News has half the audience. http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2011/04/14/cable-news-ratings-for-wednesday-april-13-2011/89417

And Let’s say Fox News is unbiased. But the other networks are biased. That leaves half of the networks being biased. You can’t see that the net result would be biased?
In case you can’t, I’ll give a simple example. We have 12 coins. Half of the coins are “unbiased”, i.e., half can be heads or tails, the other half is only heads. What do you think the majority of coin flips of those 12 coins will be?

See my next link, Jeremy, for a book that may open your young eyes. Also try watching John Stossel and Judge Napolitano on Fox Business Network (FBN). I think there is hope for you if you expand your awareness as you seem to indicate you want to do.

      • JIBBS

Take off the blibers, and do some research. Try looking back 100-150 years plus, and you begin to see the light.

      • Frank

It’s like the frog in the pot story. As the water heats slowly, the frog doesn’t notice it is boiling to death. We had an English vocabulary test in a senior english class. There were 3 papers turned in with 100% correct answers. They were from 3 exchange students, 1 Belgian, 1 from Brazil and one from Japan. Look for yourself. Where does the USA stand internationally in educating our children. My exchange daughter was the Belgian and she was amazed at how poorly we teach our children. You are being short-changed.

Secondly, prior to FOX, almost all media had a liberal bent because the reporters and editors made those choices. My personal opinion was that they were led astray in college and were not smart enough to figure that out. FOX is conservative in the opinion area and makes no bones about it. In the news area they tell it pretty much as it is and let us decide what we think. There is a reason that FOX is the number one news channel. Anyone with a little common sense can see that the liberal agenda does not work. Most Americans are conservative fiscally as well as socially. They are happy with a media that expresses the same opinion that they hold.

We are in deep and serious trouble people! Wake up!

      • Stan Smith

@ Jeremy Simple Radical Libtard professors! Parents who paid for their kids college want their kids to learn what they paid for not being brain washed by Libtard ways! I rather send my kids to non tax payer funded college that is libtard free! so my kids can learn to be a scientist, journalism, Bio Chemistry, ect… without their minds being brainwashed by libtard quacks! Fox may have higher ratings but they are being slant when a regular american conservatives attacks republicans! I like jerry doyle, savage They both attack Libtard media & FOX!

Jeremy Leochner writes about the libral media:
“they must not defend the status quo but rather question it.”

So why is it that the questions are asked by anyone except the MSM?
        Places such as personal liberty?

        • Karolyn

Vicki – I’ve watched some interviews with politicians on msm that were pretty probing. I’ve seen ABC interviews that have actually gotten a little uncomfortable because the questions asked by the reporter are too probing. Cuomo on ABC is particularly astute and will put the politician on the hotseat.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            karolyn,
That statement is so weak, I can only reply with two letters, BS!!! Cuomo is a chump! Every one of the “reporters” on ABC are CHUMPS or CHIMPS!!

Since the two Bush wars were free and added nothing to the debt and the failed economic policies of the republicans policy of let big business do as they wish, wall street?,needs less free wheeling.Politics under our system leaves too much open to big money and the laws they want pasted. It is supposed to be government by the people and for the people not by the money and for the money.I want representation for the people not a leader Gadhafi is a leader and probably a republican.

      • Robin from Arcadia, IN

Ralph… President Bush went to Congress before jumping into his war…. How long do you think the Libya war will last? Barry is too high and mighty to follow protocol and go to Congress. It’s his war baby…. all his! Also, the last two years of Geo. Bush’s presidency was a Democratic controlled Congress. And… what about Barney? Good ole Mr. Frank and all his buddies giving out loans that they knew were bad. President Bush questioned him and was always told, many times in fact, that all was good.
You may be able to bring up 100 different examples of what was wrong in the Bush area. I am sure we could do the same about Barry, and he hasn’t even served one full term yet!
Our government is corrupt. We have went from bad to worse. It’s time to get back to basics before it’s too late!

      • DaveH

You don’t want Big Business to run the show, Ralph? Then why do you vote for people who want to grow our Leviathan Government even Bigger?
Business is powerless without the backing of Force offered by Government. Without Government’s involvement in the Marketplace, businesses would have to please the consumers or perish. With Government’s involvement, it is merely a matter of greasing the right palms, damn the consumer.
        As Government Grows, Corruption Flows.

We have no way of knowing what the future would have been had we not gone to war in Iraq and Afganistan. Training camps to teach terrorism, money to develop nuclear weapons. War (more than we already have) within our own borders. What would the price have been to clean up after a nuclear attack on our cities (delivered by U-haul, not a missile)? Somehow I doubt that it would have been all peace and love. I don’t think that there was a choice that we would have a fight, the question was where it would be.

        • http://www.personalliberty.com/news/muslim-organization-criticizes-tea-party-speaker-choice-19901265/ Sonia

Exactly my point. It was a logical step in my view that we had to go to Iraq. If not, it would have been like leaving the door opened in the back.

I get so sick of people quarterbacking this decision and calling Bush a liar, when it was Sadam who was the liar. Liberals have the wrong epistemology, because they refuse to connect the dots and see the emerging patterns. Everyone was in agreement about Sadam having wmd, and using them against his enemies, and the US was one, and he would have done all the damage possible to the US if he could. No doubt about it. Sadam was a clear and present danger to the USA.

          • usmadgirl

            Sonia,

            I couldn’t agree more!!!

          • Jana

            Sonia,
I also agree with you. I have had relatives that went to Iraq and actually saw the training camps for these terrorists. Some are where the Iraq police train now.
For anyone to say that Iraq was not part of the terrorism schemes that were going on, doesn’t know what they are talking about.

      • Lewis Munn

Then we can win the war there by splitting army and the generals by political outlook, and sending the proper army over!!

      • Lewis Munn

        Ralph.

Now we know why Obama makes war with him so hard. Obamas’s mission is to eliminate Republicans! Wherever situate. Makes more sense now. Thanks.

When the oval office throws the switch on the Internet for instant political updates and real news, ABC,CBS,NBC, MSNBC, CNN, FOX and PBS will still be live to churn out the government propaganda and spin. Is it possible to have the mobile-vehicle or plant-in-the-woods disposable Pirate radio news broadcasts again. FCC has gotten real crafty about catching disadent broadcasters. Is it time for a remake?
I hope all you young tinkerers have a garage full of spare parts that you have tested and can make hundreds of throwaway transmitters.

  • JeffH

Chip, this is as good and accurate an article that can be written on this important but despicable subject. The liar in chief’s speech on the deficit and budget was purely a campaign speech. Come to think of it, he never has stopped campaigning. Then the hypocrit in chief has the nerve violate his “call for civility”. Ask Paul Ryan, whom the POTUS invited to be in the audience, and Ryan reportedly left due to the vicious attack on Republicans, the lies and the decietful tone of the speech.

And then there is the media…is anyone even aware that Obama is rewarding his media lackeys with appointments to his administration?
As it stands now, the number of major media journalists who have joined the Obama administration is at 16. Four each have now revolved through ABC News and the Washington Post, three via CNN, and one each via the Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times, Newsweek and Time magazine. You can read the list at this link.
    http://www.mrc.org/biasalert/2010/20100607033959.aspx

I won’t even get started on George Stephanopoulos, “tingle up my leg” Matthews, Matt Lauer or even the soon to be departed Katie Couric. Can’t forget the hens in the chicken coup on The View.

When will certain people wake up and realize that the path this Marxist wannabe is leading the Democrats and liberals down is straight off the cliff and they’re trying to drag the whole country with them.
It’s all about accounting gimmicks, smoke & mirrors, sleight of hand, sleight of mouth and straight up lies.

    • Robin from Arcadia, IN

JeffH… I agree with your post and this article was dead on. Obama is never out of campaign mode and the media is not telling it like it is.

    • William

very well stated Jeffh.and those same people who thought a community organiser is more qualified to run this great country than one of if not THE smartest businessmen who ever sh*t between a meat a**, are the same IDIOTS who voted this worthless TURD in,I doubt if I will ever live long enough to vote for another dimacrat.

  • Jeremy Leochner

I agree that it is wrong to insult people and degrade them simply because they disagree with you. In regards to the budget I’ve always been against cuts as much as possible but feel we need to accept some if we wish to reduce the deficit. Perhaps even increase the amount of cuts proposed by democrats. Though at the same time I feel its equally important to end the bush tax cuts on the top 2% of wage earners and perhaps increase the corporate tax rate as well. This I feel is a good comprimise duel strategy to increase the money coming in and decrease the money going out which I have always been told was the best way to balance a budget.
In regards to planned parenthood I am inclined against the republican proposal. The statistics I have seen from The Daily Show to Planned Parenthoods website to CNN say that abortion makes up only 3% of their procedures and that they are not even allowed to use federal tax money for such procedures. I have always felt abortions should be avoided as much as humanly possible. I feel only in cases within the first trimester and beyond that only cases involving the potential death of the mother without an abortion should such an undesirable procedure be conducted. If planned parenthood conductes procedures outside these limits I feel compelled to oppose them and to want them to not be allowed to conduct such operations. However if planned parenthood were to only conduct abortions with in the limits of first trimester and cases of life or death for the mother I feel for the sack of integrity and honesty I must tolerate them regardless of my personal opposition.
Finally With respect to Mr. Wood I would like to point out that saying President Obama only cares about his re-election seems contradictory to your statments against those democrats who call republicans who don’t agree with them extremists. I can understand your desire to criticize a man you strongly disagree with but I feel it hurts both your argument against him and your argument against democratic name calling when you shortly after resort basically to name calling yourself.

    • lkar

You get your statistics from the Daily Show!!! Holy bat dung batman, I think you answered your earlier question of what you think Stan meant by dumbing down! You do realize that the Daily Show is on comedy central and is a comedy show.
These are the people that think draconian cuts amount to less than 1% of the deficit. I sure BHO will count on your vote for 2012.

      • Cawmun Cents

Allrighty then folks,we need to tone down the viciousness of our dissent. To tell a liberal that Comedy Centeral isnt a legitimate news source,is just mean.Hasnt the idea of mixing Hollywood with news ever occured to anyone on this post, aside from our token liberals? To make it even more legitimate, isnt it obvious that the fool should announce the current events.Much like in a King’s court, where the fool was always the bringer of news to the royals, and the upper crust, our educated young people have been taught that the tale-teller is best at weaving yarns that sound better.Yes the resident comedian is much more likely to bring the truth through mirth, than those stuffed shirt news-people with their contrived voices.Yes folks the Daily Show,(whose first episode debuted with a segment devoted to a nude blonde reporting the news to Craig Killborn,I believe)is always a potent alternative(thats the important word here…alternative)version of goings on.The sad truth is that you are as likely to get truth from the Daily Show as you are from any news source available,in this day and age.So maybe Jeremy isnt so golly gosh darn out of touch as we think he is.Maybe we should sit back, enjoy the laughs, and Hollywood-ize our news a bit more.Hey…they couldnt do much worse reporting the truth tha the folks who have us by the short and curlies now,can they?

        • lkar

So whatyou are saying is that we ingest multiple sources for news and collectively decide what is truth. I think that means let us check the ratings.
Or you suggest that shock value and audience pandering is OK as the truth is still somewhere in the report. The assumption being that everyone can tell the difference.
More specifically, Planned Parenthood federal funding statitics are truthfully portrayed by its stauch supporters? I accept that they may be true (though in reality I do not) and continue this discourse.
The government must cut its deficient spending (this is the truth portrayed by most all sources). Parental counseling is important, but the federal government cannot afford to continue funding this service. It is not an “inalienable” right and other charitable resources can be sought out (in otherwords PP can find private donors). My conclusion for everyone’s truth is that PP should not receive federal funds (not because of moral priniciples but fiscal reality).

          • Cawmun Cents

I made no such suggestion kind sir.I was merely pointing out that it is difficult,if not improbable,to ascertain what is fact and fiction in todays news,no matter what the source is.As for PP,I STAND WITH THOSE WHO OPPOSE FUNDING.But that goes for anything…..”just stop”is my motto.

          • http://?? Joe H.

I know Ikar. But do bear in mind the statistics I mentioned were gleamed from other news sources. I just like to mention that I watch the Daily Show because I think it is a good show.

    • Merkelerk

Jeremy, you don’t actually make your decisions based on information on the Daily Show do you?

Congress wants to defund Planned Parenthood and you go to their (PP) website for info?

      CNN for unbiased “facts”?

Abortion aside, the Federal Government has no business funding PP, that kind of spending is for governments at the state level.
      (damn that pesky constitution)

          • Thamera

Jeremy has already stated that he does not have “real life experience” I think that says it all. It is very easy to be “pie in the sky” when you are not burdened with bills and a mortgage (which by the way Obama would also like to include in his what does he call it…tax spending expenditures…or something like that? His plan for “taxing the rich” will penalize every single American with a mortgage who itemizes their return. Already my mortgage was just increased by $40.00 a month because of increase in taxes. I am furious and am thinking of any conceivable area that I can cut in my house hould to cover that forced expenditure. Sidenote: I am glad that Jeremy is here though…he might learn something. Oh and Bob W. I am disappointed…so for the record, I graduated with a B.S. and am working on my master’s degree…

          • Carlucci

DaveH, I hope so. Jeremy’s postings are always very civil and courteous. I’m guessing he is young, so some life experience may turn things around.

BTW – I like what you wrote above about Ronald Reagan. I think RR was really trying to make a difference, but his hands were tied. David Rockefeller told him that he could never become president unless he “followed instructions”. That’s why everyone must listen up and wake up and understand that continuing to vote for status quo rinos and dems will be the end of this great nation.

Jeremy, you are nothing more than a lieberal talking head – your sources are some the same lieberal liars that are being criticized. And, by the way, it is not insulting or degrading to call a liar a liar; it is truth, something that lieberals such as yourself detest.

    • Vigilant

Jeremy says, “Though at the same time I feel its equally important to end the bush tax cuts on the top 2% of wage earners and perhaps increase the corporate tax rate as well.”

If you taxed the top 2% at a rate of 100%, it wouldn’t even put a dent in the national debt. If you taxed EVERYONE at a 100% rate, it wouldn’t put a dent in the debt. Our corporate tax rate is the second highest amongst the industrialized nations, just a tad lower than Japan’s. And you want to further cripple economic recovery by increasing that rate? Even Obama has said he wants to decrease it.

No, my friend, SPENDING is the portion of the equation that has spiraled out of control, and no amount of taxation will help unless and until we get a handle on the spending. Our debt is, plainly and simply, unsustainable. Printing of fiat money only puts off the inevitable, and that inevitable thing is called financial meltdown.

Substantial reductions in welfare spending and in the military budget are the only things that will right this Ship of State.

If Macroeconomics is not one of the courses you’re taking in college, you should add it.

      • Lastmanstanding

I have NOT seen one single comment about the $ 2.3 trillion Pentagon could NOT account for the day before 9/11 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqHIPzTACrM – A day before 9/11- $2.3 trillions lost by the Pentagon) & got over $ 2 trillion more for the two illegal wars (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Khut8xbXK8 – - The Iraq War: Legal or Illegal?) since! The war in Iraq will cost approx. 5 trillion $ by the time it’s done when the cost of rehabiliation of our vets is accounted for & the one in Afghanistan will probably be about 3 trillion or so…

The debt Mr. Bush left for Mr. Soetoro went from just under 5 trillion $ to over 10 trillion $. That is exactly what happens when a country decides to cut taxes for the Supra-Rich, and go to war with borrowed money!

        • DaveH

Both the military state and the welfare state need to be reined in dramatically.

        • http://?? Joe H.

          Libertarian,
The only problem with cutting defense spending, is that the troops are the first to suffer for it!! Them and the vets that are disabled or disfigured from the wars they figure they fought for US!! There are many, many other areas to cut first! Department of ed, department of energy, even the department of roads. Like all those “non essential” employees the government was going to send home if they shut down. If they are labled non essential, they are not really needed!! Get rid of them!!

          • DaveH

I don’t want our troops to suffer, Joe, but that doesn’t mean we should continue to waste our money being the World’s Policemen. We need to get out of the foreign countries and put our soldiers back to work in the private sector and maybe some of them on our borders.
The thing about the Military is that it is a double-edged sword in that as well as defending our freedom, they can also be used to crush it. That’s why most of our founders disdained a standing military.

But you’re right that there are many other things that should be cut. And they could also sell much of the Government’s vast land holdings to raise money. That is if we don’t let them spend so much money that even those things won’t get us out of a collapse.

Have you noticed how whenever people suggest that they sell land to put money back into a Social Security trust fund, they always whine that the National Parks will be sold? That is such bull. They have many more land holdings than that which is in the National Parks. And speaking of those, they would be much more efficiently managed by private companies.

          • DaveH

And speaking of “non essential”, most of what the Federal Government does is non-essential. I think that one of the few that could be rightly called “essential” is paying back the money that they forcibly took from us to fund Social Security. But most of the rest is not essential. Essential is a subjective word and is greatly abused by the Government.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            DaveH,
I understand fully what you say about land. Our city had “aquired” several properties in town and finally sold them to put some money in the coffers. also, it brought in property taxes and got the liabilities off the books! Of course, if they hadn’t built a 10 million dollar stadium for 15 million, they wouldn’t be in as bad a condition as they are!! Like the police are down by about a third, the fire dept is down by MORE than a third, to the point that if they get two emergency calls they can’t man a fire if it is called in. They have to call one of the neighboring cities!! Hell, with two major hiways going through the county and a lot of tanker traffic, the only foam tanker for fighting fires is owned by Lubrizol corp. and we are very lucky that they are very willing to loan it if needed!!

          • DaveH

Exactly, Joe. That is how Big Government works their magic. They cut back on the services that they think will hurt the most people, when in reality there is much more fluff that they could cut first. We can expect more of that if we let them go any further. They are determined to make us dependent slaves.

          • Jana

            Jeremy.
I hope you have read the above few posts. When we become a Socialist or Communist Society, others, so called leaders, will tell you what is good for you, and tell you what THEY want you to have. Freedom is precious, our country has fought against Socialism and Communism from the very beginning. Now, to let it just come in and take over because people like you have unknowingly been brain washed into thinking this is the best course, is unthinkable. You will never know what you have lost, because you will never have had it. The IT here is TRUE FREEDOM.

          • usmadgirl

            Joe H,

As usual, I agree with your comment! Defense is the last thing we should cut. We can NOT cut defense with all the chaos in the world, but even I could certainly do a better job, as an average citizen, with defense SPENDING! When it’s your OWN money, you learn how not to WASTE it. It’s easy to be extravagant with other people’s money!

Why hasn’t anyone brought up cutting the possibly $120 billion we spend on supporting illegal immigrants. Looks like THAT would be a good start in reducing the debt! It’s certainly a much more substantial amount than the measly $38 billion they reduced it last week & some of that was questionable as to what it actually “cut”.

Why should WE contribute 22% of the UN funding? The most recent information I could find showed Japan as the 2nd highest contributor at 12%. The UN is just another bunch of global governing thieves; so why are we giving them money to help themselves to?

We need to get rid of ALL the government employees that O’Dumbo has hired since he’s been in office. I’m sure that would lower the debt a bit! And, if I hear that the “pork spending” is only a “small percentage” of the debt, I’m going to scream. Their idea of “small” when it’s “only a million” or “only a billion” is absurd! All those “small” items have sent us into the economic dumper!

They need to give the list to people who have to live like WE (& other NORMAL PEOPLE) do to cut the spending & just see how much they can do without!

          • http://?? Joe H.

            USmadgirl,
Thanks for the support. I will always feel a connection to the soldiers who fight our battles whether I agree with the battles or not!!most believe in their hearts, that they are fighting for the freedom of our country!!

J L. Want a bunch of info. that took 6 years of research by a regular guy? spend a few hours checking out…sonsoflibertyacademy.com and dont-tread-on.me

Infact. Everyone check it out…Soon to be advertised on the Drudge report…I have been posting this for a month or more. Having spent months checking it out and going thru his info. it is the best that I have found so far. by far.

Don’t be afraid to live “outside the box.” Be a step or 2 ahead of others and be aware…be prepared.

    • Matt Newell

How can you believe that stuff? You have got to cut spending what you don’t have or you WILL be in a world of hurt. You STOP borrowing or you will be in a world of hurt. Planned Parenthood only spends 3% on health services (the rest is on abortions). You go to the “Daily Show” for news coverage? That is a entertainment program not news. It is trying to get laughs not report anything that is happening here and now (i.e. the truth).

    • DaveH

Unless you plan to be a part of the Government machinery, Jeremy, you are dooming your future. The mediocre spending cuts being offered still result in debt accumulation of over $1 Trillion a year. That’s over $3,000 per person (every man, woman, and child) in this country, or to put it another way it’s over $9,000 per average family per year.
The top 1% of the wage earners in this country already pay over 38% of the income taxes. How much more do you think is their fair share? Do you know that Americans make about 4 times what most other workers in the world make? So what would you think if the world decided you should pay much more of your salary to support them, since you are so rich (or will be when you start working)?
Quit with the Class Envy, and become something better than your fellow Liberals, Jeremy.

As far as the abortion issue goes, Jeremy, it’s one thing for you to spend your money with organizations that you advocate, but you are talking about spending other peoples’ money. It’s not your legitimate choice.

    • MIKE

do you work for a living or do i pay for you and yours

    • JIBBS

It’s too late, you have been dumbed down. Maybe with a little hope, you may find your way, and start to see thru the smoke.

    • Thamera

Would it shock you Jeremy and others that are so easily “offended” that debates about the constitution were very heated and even resulted in guns being pulled on each other at times? For those of you who readily take offense take a debate class for crying out loud and see how long you would last…good grief.

      • Carlucci

Absolutely, Thamera! Did you see that PBS special a couple of weeks ago on Dolly Madison? There was constant squabbling in both Houses between both parties when our nation was new. Every day there were challenges from both sides for duels. There was even a special place reserved nearby where they could go and shoot the crap out of each other. I had no idea…

Kind of reminds me of those news stories where you see legislators in Asian countries erupting and fisticuffs ensue…wouldn’t that be something to see in person?

        • Lewis Munn

Be very good if the tensions could be worked out that way and CNN carry the duels and fights in real time! See Democracy at work!

We do not see it when it is behind closed doors in smoke-filled rooms late at night!

      • Jeremy Leochner

Actually Thamera I have taken a debate class. One that was actually dominated by conservatives. I guess im just a glutton for punishment. I can understand arguments becoming heated. My point is we were always taught to stay in the argument field or to focus on the basic facts and leave personal opinions out of it. I just figure if someone resorts to threats or name calling or anger or hate in a place meant for debate than that person has I believe failed in their argument.

        • Thamera

Then are you actually LISTENING to the rhetoric from the LEFT Jeremy? Not 5 minutes ago the mass media was playing yet another “lie” from the left about how Republicans want to shift the burden of all medical expenses onto the back of the seniors, and from the other day, senators screaming how Repulicans want to “murder” women…just one teeny, tiny example that is a relentless stream of propaganda and lies reported over and over and over again by the mass media propagated by the left.

          • Thamera

btw Jeremy, I was taught the very same thing in debate but (and you will learn this) that is not how things play out in the real world. As for revisionist history? Did your teachers use textbooks? It is so subtle Jeremy, I am not surprised that you would not “see” it. It’s not like they (your teachers and professors) are “in your face” (well, with exception I am sure) screaming about their ideologues Jeremy. By chance have you read “Animal Farm” or perhaps, “Anthem?”

          • Jeremy Leochner

To answer your question I have read Animal Farm. It is actually one of my favorite books. I assure you when Democrats or Republicans start saying the other parties ideas will hurt seniors or the rich or the poor I tend to disagree and think they are going to far even if I agree with them politically. I dont believe in opposing extremes with extremes. Thats why I believe in comprimise and not simply saying that media or education has a liberal or conservative bias.

        • FireMall

Why should a debate about the Future of my kids 7 grandkids become heated ??
I wish I could honestly suggest that when you are in the Majorities shoes later in your life , have children of your own , will be the day you will see What is Heating the discussion & where it is borne from.
However: There is NO Time left to find a way to pay the Overdrafts that Congress have Deliberately created over the last 2 decades..
Google, New World Order, Trilateral Commission, Council on Foriegn Relations/CFR , then one can put 2 & 2 together ofr Real Answers to hidden Agenda questions. I suggest one to research these internet articles before they are no longer available due to Dot”O”‘s Gov wanting control of public information that will surely be America’s demise & Civil Disobedience / Uprisings begin when the few remaining Citizens see the real world of Power & Corruption being hidden from the People of the Entire Globe.
The next inevitable event will be the Final nail in America’s Coffin when the Creditors funding America call all the IOU’s due & payable immediately. Been there a couple of times in the business world and it ain’t a pretty picture to see. Irresponsibility added to Uncontrollable circumstances Will catch up to everyone in due time, Dot Gov is Everyone in America, Excluding the Politicians that have covered their bets with “Our” dollars & Futures. Sad But True. Agree?

          • Thamera

            Right on FireMall

        • Thamera

Jeremy: Not that you have to answer, but what did you like about Animal Farm?

          • Jeremy Leochner

I enjoyed the message that radicalism leads to faliure no matter what banner its labeled. It got me thinking about what can happen when people lose faith in the ideals of justice, equality and liberty and instead put faith in a single person or pig rather. It helped I think show the importance of being honest with people and how we must stick to the ideals we preach. Though I will say George Orwell is a bit depressing. Would it have killed him to offer some hope or chance for redemption at the end. Though I suppose that would detract from the lesson that those who denounce but act hypocritically than become the very things they once denounced.

          • Thamera

The book ends as it does Jeremy because that is how the revolution ended for the Russians and how most totalitarian takeovers end – not well. Animal Farm is a “cautionary” tale about that form of government and as you know is full of symbolic meaning. For me, the bigger question is, what direction is our government attempting for us?

        • http://?? Joe H.

          Jeremy,
you forget one rule of debating and that is you are supposed to be KNOWLEDGEABLE on the subject and that means on both sides to know what you can and can’t argue! now I am a 60 year old with only an AS in welding technology, but I can see that you have only studied the liberal talking points and have very little knoledge in the conservative or libertarian points and truths! I would suggest you do a little more independant study and do a search for the TRUTH before you try to argue against it!

    • http://Illinois'17th Old Henry

      Jeremy, Jeremy, Jeremy…

Where to begin? You have geen so befuddled by the communists in your scholastic carreer that it may take years to get your head straight.

First: Tax cuts DO NOT create deficits. SPENDING creates deficits. IT IS NOT THEIR MONEY (PROPERTY).

Why should the “rich” pay more than anyone else? Please define “rich”.

We have a 1.6 TRILLION dollar deficit in the budget. So, 1.6 TRILLION should be cut from the budget.

There is soooo much fat, waste, fraud in the budget that number is easily attained.

Raising taxes REDUCES money coming into the treasury. REDUCING taxes increases money coming into the treasury.

Reagan’s tax cuts almost DOUBLED money coming into the treasury. However, the democrat controlled congress simply spent that much more, and then some. Reagan himself admitted in later years he should have been tougher on congress and its spending.

Ifyou, and you “instructors” feel higher taxes are good then suggest to them that they send, oh say, 75% of their income to the government. There is a proceedure for doing that and they can get it from the wonderful folks at the facsist agency known as the IRS.

I would love to hear about their response when you suggest they send THEIR money to the treasury.

      • Thamera

Exactly Old Henry…so much “belly aching” about the rich not paying their fair share when anyone and everyone can contribute to their government at anytime by simply writing a check…including Obama…lol

    • Michael J.

      Jeremy Leochner,
Federal law bars Planned Parenthood from using tax dollars for abortion. In 1976, three years after the landmark Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion, Congress passed the Hyde Amendment which bars the use of taxpayer funds for abortion except in cases of rape, incest or to save the life of the mother.

Planned Parenthood, the largest provider of abortions in the country currently performs over 6,000 abortions per week which adds up to over 300,000 per year, a number that is dramatically increasing annually.

Even Moveon.org seems to think that Planned Parenthood uses Federal funding to provide abortions.

    • FireMall

      @ Jeremy:

What you might have missed with the So called budget bill last week is the Real Truth. Period.
The 38.5 billion was offset by a 72 billion “increase” in the deficit the day congress Lied out their azzes about the cuts.
At least the biggest lie about the budget was Bi-Partisan. Yippie ky yea !!
The cuts were / are as fake as the People claiming to be cutting . Period. I.E. fake American Leaders in Good guy suits.
The cuts came from stagnant accounts for projects, programs that ended last year and one of the cuts was a dead program from several years ago.
The CBO has acknowledged that the Real numbers on the “Cuts” were actually 342 million & that savings / cut was “factually” Gone before the ink dried on the CR bill.
All Americans should rest assured that the upcoming “Legal” Budget will be even more dishonest than the Illegal Continuing Resolution bill passed yesterday.
Federal “Law” requires the Federal Budget be in “PLACE” before the upcoming fiscal year BEGINS. Period. What Congress is doing is actually an act of Treason when Elected Representatives Blatantly breach of Standing Federal Laws regarding their Sworn Oath of office to abide by all Constitutional mandates.

Next: this one is even worse & or the same, regarding Illegal acts of “We The People’s” Elected ,Sworn to Oath representatives.
As some might not have noticed the one, between the lines, thing about the Planned Parenthood funding.
By Congress’s Own admission during the PP funding fiasco Congress & Planned Parenthood have both made it obvious by virtue of the Pro & Con side of the funding issue, Have let it slip out that in “Fact” Federal Monies are used to fund Abortion via PP diverting Federal Health care funding being Diverted to fund Abortion services. .
One more Blatant Violation of Federal Law forbidding Tax funded Abortion by PP & by Congress for knowing & allowing the abortion services to knowingly be Tax paid.
Regardless where one might stand on the Abortion issue. There is still Plain as Day Federal laws against Funding such with Tax dollars.

I wonder Where the DOJ & Congressional oversight agencies are when there is more than sufficient Self-Incriminating Evidence of Treason with just about every dam thing Congress, PP & Dot “O”‘s Gov has done to this point .
These Crimes have been & are still being committed By All “Members” [Pun Intended} of Congress & Dot Gov, Regardless of which party the individual Perps might be affiliated with.
The Law “Might” be the “Law” unless they are Elected Officials , The the Game seems to change drastically in favor of the Criminals. Sound Familiar ??

    • Bob

We will have the highest corporate tax in the world very soon when Japan cuts their corporate tax rate. Jeremy, you want to raise it higher? What is wrong with you? Don’t you realize that raising the corporate tax rate only raises the prices of goods and services?

We should eliminate corporate taxes. That would make our products and services lower priced so that we would be more competitive and put more people to work. Corporations spend hundreds of billions of dollars to comply with the idiot tax code. Those costs of course are passed onto us as higher prices.

You were given a brain, please use it. The simplistic thinking of the left is absolutely astounding!!!!!

  • shermansred

Guess what he has the communists take over.First the media, then the Fcc.look out America !!!!!!!

  • TIME

WOW, I just can’t fathom the idea that the MEDIA may LIE or just outright fabricate news.

Yea that and $100,000,000.00 will get you a “FREE” cup of COFFEE at Star*BUTTS. and will also cut the spending by Government by .0001% all at the same time. Why its nothing shorth of incredible!

Only YOU can prevent Idiots form REPORTING DIS`INFORMATION.
STOP the MADDNESS! DEMAND the TRUTH. It’s out there, but you sure are not getting it.

  • njmiller

I don’t know how many responses to articles I have read by now; however, one idea seems perfectly clear…

Until we get rid of the massive number of employees and duplication that the fools in Washington have developed, ridded ourselves of all the rhetoric regarding taxation by just voting for a flat tax with no deductions on income, lowered the restrictions on developing oil wells, sold off the one third ownership the government has on our lands, made law a restriction for Medicare and Medicaid that generics must be used if available……..

Should I go on?? I can, you know. Give me another hour and I’ll bet I could name many more….such as how about the House and the Senate live under the same rules as the rest of us. Same retirement (social security) and same health care. Boy, I’ll bet they burn the midnight oil correcting what they have done to the rest of us.

It seems so obvious that even a grade schooler should be able to straighten this disaster out.

    • William

      you got that right nj,

    • Carlucci

nj – Have you heard about GOOOH – pronounced “GO”? (Get Out of Our House) They are nation wide and looking for candidates from the public to run for office to rid us of all the slime currently holding office. Check it out: http://goooh.com/

      • Al Sieber

Carlucci, thanks for the link, as far as I’m concerned the democrats and republicans are just 2 different crime families.

        • Cawmun Cents

1 family with arguments, and crappy fiscal responsiblilty. After all, they are borrowing money which doesnt exsist yet,in order to pay debts on money that doesnt exist yet.Wrap your brain around that one!

        • Carlucci

Yep. Two families of the federal mafia.

  • JessefromGA

Some people still don’t get this country is at a crossroads. Apparently some being taught in government schools don’t understand the basics of economics or money management.

Even if the Bush tax cuts were rescinded that alone would not raise enough money to trim the deficit nor would it do anything to lower the national debt.

all the liberals want is more. I have to ask; How much is enough? At what point will you liberal/progressives be satisfied with the amount of money you take from the producers of this nation? 50% of everything they earn? 60, 75, 85, 95% of everything? What is enough?

I have the answer for you? None of those percentages are enough to satisfy you, you want it all, 100% of everything the producers of this nation make. Admit it! Your desire to create a socialist/progressive state is insatiable and you will not stop until you destroy America!

Go back to school little boy, you know nothing of what you speak except to regurgitate liberal talking points!

    • Robin from Arcadia, IN

JessefromGA… How much is enough? When the middle class ceases to exist. The progressives who are pushing all the handouts and taxing the rich want to see our country on its knees with no more middle class, just the elite top few and the impoverished lower class who are government dependent.

      • lkar

The problem Robin is the liberals definition of “middle-class”. To them, those that are on the government hand out constitute middle class (government employees and welfare moms with multiplicity of children). The Democrats berate the Republicans for wanting to send grandma to the poor house, starve innocent children, and take away “freedoms” (loosely defined as monthly checks from the government for doing nothing). Only those that work at Wal-mart, McDonalds, or the mall are considered the poor and must have their minimum wage increased (to the point that it is nearly impossible for my 16 year old to find an after school job). The liberals and unions what to “uplift” these poor souls using other peoples money (and not rely on the individuals responsibility). The problem is that these are the real workers and they see the crap coming out of Washington. Why bust your a$$ when you can quit and get the check like everyone else. This is how propaganda lies perpetuate and doom a nation, people just give up.
Economics allude the left. Who do you think pays for the re-distribution? The producers pass it on to the consumers. Even the liberals are consumers of something! This is “Idiocracy” at its best and in the end the poor still have to pay or die. Blame the rich, but they will just move away and then people will wake up realize that the door of “freedom” leads to a furnace.

        • Thamera

Exactly and ditto that on a 16 year old trying to find a job.

    • William

AMEN Jesse, thats exactly what they want as long as it’s other peoples money, have any of you noticed that it is the very rich who are liberal? yep they love to spend other peoples money. and the hell of it is the deadbeats dope heads and freeloaders will keep voting them back in office. thats why they have to keep raising taxes to keep buying votes from the worthless scumbags,

  • Gene

I am not sure where you received your information on military pay. I am mobilized soldier and my mid month pay check was missing 8 days of pay (8-15 April). After the budget was signed finance deposited the missing money. In 1995 it took the Army 3 months to get paid after the government shut down. Gene

    • lkar

Are you considered in hostile areana (I am not sure what the terminology is)? I think these military persons are considered essential. Not sure about that though. Perhaps someone has the actual language of the law cited in the article.

      • libertytrain

My daughter is posted at FT. Bragg, the largest populated post in the Country – So there you have about 53,000 soldiers who were shorted in their paycheck a weeks pay because of the POSSIBILITY of a shutdown, not the shutdown, just the POSSIBILITY.

        • lkar

That is outrageous! Remember who is in charge of the executive branch! He likes to spend our money, but not if it can gain him some political points. I would make sure your daughter realizes that this political crime is a Democrat failure and has nothing to do with the Republicans. And then she should pass the message on to here military friends.

          • libertytrain

When someone takes a week of your pay, removes it because of a “possibility,” starts to make you think a little more and I do believe the military has been put on a new high alert.

        • JeffH

libertytrain, shorting military paychecks because of a “possibility” of a shutdown? That in itself tells me that this administration will do anything to insure the downfall of this nation. I guess the military should go on strike until they are paid, but I’m sure they follow and honor their oath, unlike the Marxist in charge and his merry band of gangsters.

          • libertytrain

I’m pretty sure Congress, the current prez and his wife didn’t feel any shortage in their paychecks because of a “possibility” of a shutdown -

          • libertytrain

JeffH, haven’t talked with the daughter since last Friday, but I see Gene mentions finance deposited the money after the budget was signed instead of the 3 months it took in 1995 according to his post. Irregardless, if the budget wasn’t signed, they do not get paid – I’m guessing back pay when the budget is eventually signed.

          • JeffH

libertytrain, it is shamefull for sure. At least there were some politicians trying to insure our military personnel would get paid on time.

House Republicans Introduce Bill to Pay Military During Government Shutdown
By John Brandt Published April 01, 2011
            http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/04/01/house-republicans-introduce-military-paid-shutdown/
Republican Reps. Louie Gohmert of Texas and Jack Kingston of Georgia said Friday they want to make sure the troops get paid for their work even without a new funding measure in place.

“We’ve got people standing up and protecting us,” Gohmert said. “The last thing they should have to worry about is if their paycheck gets to their account on time.”

The Republicans said that by moving on the bill, Congress would ensure that members of the military would not be used as “political chips or pawns” in the ongoing spending debate,

          • libertytrain

JeffH – yes, actually McCain was trying to do something as well. Oddly there really wasn’t much out there on this. Kind of peculiar to me. Like it was kind of hushed with everyone assuming the military would really somehow be immune. And, despite what the politicians thought they would do, it did not stop the 1 week being removed from their pay.

        • http://deleted Claire

libertytrain– I find this appalling. Who needs their entire paycheck more that our military???!!! This honks me off. Did The House, Congress, the Prez take a lesser paycheck? Heck no. They received thier full pay and probably overtime pay. Disgusting. The government needs a pay cut, then they would know how the other half lives.

    • libertytrain

Gene – thanks for bringing this up. My daughter, active duty, as well, mentioned they lost a weeks pay because of the POSSIBILITY of a shutdown – Yes eventually they will be paid for the week that was deducted (April 8-15), however, the key word is EVENTUALLY, and those soldiers that do live week-to-week have been very much penalized. Not too much on the Internet on this but there are a few stories that managed to break through.

    • DaveH

That is how the Big Government Growthers work, Gene. First they get as many of us dependent on them as they can, then they tighten the screws whenever we get out of line (like voting for more fiscal sanity). That is exactly the motivation behind Obama’s attempted takeover of our Health Care system.
It may be too late already, as the critical mass of Government dependents may have already been reached. Those people are unlikely to bite the hand that they perceive is paying them.
But if it isn’t too late, the only way back from the abyss is to start voting for the only political party that really understands Freedom and the benefits of Limited Government. We need to cut Government back dramatically and we need to do it NOW. It is the night before the Term Paper is due, and we can’t put it off any longer.
For Individual Freedom, Personal Responsibility, Free Markets, Limited Government, and Peace — Vote Libertarian!

      • Lewis Munn

        Good idea.

3rd parties are important to take people away from parties that are going amiss, and if things do not straighten out, overwhelm the errant parties.

They may never get elected, but when they start pulling a lot of votes, one or the other major parties will change to reel in the wanderers. I am glad for 3rd parties, the consciences of the majors.

People should vote for the 3rd party of their choice to let the major parties know they goofed!

        • DaveH

I don’t want the major parties to change to accomodate more people. I want people to learn how the Libertarian Principles are much more consistent with Freedom than the other two parties could ever offer. We believe that humans are born with the natural (or God-Given) right to control their own bodies and legally acquired property as long as we don’t trespass on the bodies and property of others.
Neither of the two majors accept that. Both want to control what you do with your body and property. They just have different agendas of what needs to be controlled.

  • Rob Jase

Funny how none of these Republican deficit hawks had anything to say when either of the Bushes or Reagan was in office & setting new debt reords.

    • lkar

Many of us were vocal. We just were not heard. Thus the Tea party was born. We were sick of the parties (and especially the traditionally conservative Republicans). Now that the Tea party voice is be heard, we are being mocked and labeled “extremist”. The Democrats fear and the centrist Republicans are clueless.

    • DaveH

Can you back that up with some actual facts and references, Rob?
I know that Ron Paul had plenty to say. I know that Jeff Flake had plenty to say. There are several others. And many of those “deficit hawks” are newcomers to Congress.

  • Henry Villarreal

Although this is a very important issue,Obama came out winning. He is taking the prize of announcing the greatest cuts ever , while as you correctly point out , it is pennies. Secondly he has managed to create an additional distraction factor , aside from Obamacare .He can continue destroying the nation with his Islamic ,socialist agenda. he doesn’t care about anything else. His sole purpose is to weaken our nation to a point where it is economically impossible to respond to the Islamic threat. If you think these past times under his presidency are a disaster wait and see the catastrophic consequences of a second presidency . What the media doesn’t see is the slavery they are promoting now while come to haunt them and eliminate their so called freedom of the press.

        I choose the latter.

      • libertytrain

Carlucci – interesting article – thanks.

      • Kate8

Carlucci – I just find a few things puzzling.

Thus far, EVERYONE has been silenced and blocked at every turn in trying to ask questions about O’s sealed life-history. People have been murdered who knew too much and presented a threat. Even judges have been forbidden to hear evidence before the courts. Congressmen of the opposition party have remained silent on the issue, and top talk show hosts have, for the most part, defended O’s sealed records.

Suddenly, Trump comes forward and is allowed to push the issue of O’s history, and it’s like it just came out. Huh?

Something does not make sense here. But what I do know is, the only real reason anyone is taking Trump seriously is because he’s asking the questions patriotic Americans want to know, and they’re piling on board like the libs did for O.

If you keep in mind that nothing is ever quite as it seems, it leaves you to wonder where this is going.

By the way, it kind of gives new meaning to “the sound of the Trump”, doesn’t it? LOL. Jus’ sayin’.

  • H. Kirk Rainer

The events and reporting should not be at all surprising or shocking. Power is in direct proportion to spending or finance (of course); retention of power (and office) depends on deficit spending.

Deficit spending is a systemic problem. Consideration of a balanced budgets (as our states) is irrelavent because of the unique, universal privilege to manufacture money for international commerce.

Forget the pundits, party-lines, or personalities; and instead, consider the problem, its cause.

72 billion times 365 is 26,280 billion or 26.2 trillion. Bad math folks? Did you mean the daily deficit is 7.2 billion?

    • DaveH

It does appear to be a mistake. The figure I hear often is about $40 Billion, but that is for every 10 day extension of the budget, or about $4 Billion a day.
But Chip did say “The same day that Republicans in the House voted to cut spending by $6 billion, our national debt jumped by $72 billion”.
The operative words being “The same day”. Maybe the Government reports it’s accumulated debt every 2 weeks? I guess only Chip can answer that.

    • RWS

I was actually wondering the same thing. I agree with the article but was confused by the math as it just doesn’t add up correctly. Chip was that a typo?

ABC, CBS, NBC/MSNBC, CNN are not government controlled in any way.
They are commercial stations whose airtime is paid for by many different FREE ENTERPRISE companies. The notion that all of these broadcasters are liars and communist sympathizers is in itself a lie. Rush Limbaugh, the nasty extremist who makes a very handsome living lying, is the inventor of the drive-by media nonsense.
Of course if you’re a right wing radical normalcy, sanity, and truth are very hard to believe.

    • DaveH

      Norm,
You’ve been reading this website long enough to know better.
There are many reasons for News organizations to favor Government. Much of their reporting requires access to Government statistics, so a lot of sucking up is desirable to them.
Media Moguls don’t like the rigors of Free Markets any more than most other Business moguls. If they can grease the right palms, please the right leaders, they don’t have to face the intense competition of Free Markets.
Another incentive is that they want to report what the people want to hear. If they think the people want to hear bad-mouthing of business people, they will do that to keep their audiences.
Whatever the case, the best we can do is listen to what people have to say and determine to the best of our abilities which statements make sense and which are just plain unbelievable.

      • Thamera

All that people like Norm need to do is READ, except that don’t or won’t, I’m not sure which. Mao for example had complete control of the media by the time he was firmly entrenched. It was the media that constantly spewed his communist propaganda and agenda. It was the media that controlled the masses. Wild Swans is an excellent book that illustrates very well how government uses media to first lie to the people, lull the people to sleep and finally control the people. Why do you (used collectively for Norm’s sake) think the DEMS have cried so loudly to pass the Fairness Doctrine? Norm, people like you and Jopa have really got to educated yourselves and wake up. You are part of the sleepy, hypnotized masses that allow people like Mao and other dictators to take control.

It made my skin crawl and I could not believe that so many Americans could be lulled by the same rhetoric! Although, reading the posts from say Jopa and Norm…I can understand how this type of rhetoric works on the sheeple…Sad, sad, sad.

          • http://! Angel Wannabe

Thamers, thats what the left banks on, the people staying STUPID. My neighbor and his wife immigrated from Czechoslovakia about 40 years ago as young adults. They saw many of the same events that are occurring in the US right now, but several years ago when they first moved to my neighborhood they were staunch Republicans even though many of the things Republicans do are contributing to the loss of our Freedom. They both snickered at my Libertarian ideas then. But recently, their son who is a pro-military-statist, was complaining to me that his dad listens daily to a Libertarian talk-radio host. I think Dad has seen the light. Hopefully, son will one day too.

There must be an investigation into the collusion between the leftist controlled media (including the propaganda outlets such as TV shows and movies); collusion undertaken with the aim of deceiving the American people and covering up the criminal activities of the scumocrat party. Norm, you have yet to say anything of “substance”..do YOU realize that???

  • Randyg

Jeremy, the media is entrusted to be an important part of our nations checks and balances. They are not given such special status to report only the news they want, to force feed their opinions on us, to ignore the facts, slant the truth or even make it up as they go. They are obligated to report the facts as they are and allow us citizens to make up our own minds without filling our heads with propaganda and demogagary. Our educational system should have the same obligations. Neither should be controlled by or aligned with the government.

Is Fox aligned more right than the rest of the networks? Probably so as they are the only network that adds some balance to the rest of the undeniably liberal aligned networks. That’s why they are so popular. Also, it is no longer a stretch for any thinking person to realize how strongly liberally biased our education system is.

I’m an independent. Most of what you’ve said leads me to believe that you are liberal or at least leaning that way. Therefore, I’m probably just wasting my time replying to you. Why would I say that? Because if you don’t see the very evident liberal bias of the main stream media and our educational system, then you’re already there and I won’t be able to change your mind anymore than you’ll be able to change mine.

    • Norm

      Randyg
Have you watched Sean Hannity lately? If you think this is a fair and balanced show you are insane. I will admit he is very funny. Jon Stewart is far more truthful.

      • lkar

Sean Hannity clearly supports the Republican ideology. It is not a secret! Fair and balanced on his show refers to the fact that he allows dissenting views to voice their position (albeit sometimes very badly afterall it is his show). Haven’t seen much of that on the other networks (and I do not mean the RINO’s and centerist dolps that they usually use).
Jon Stewart is funny at times, but I also realize he is a comedian that does not seem to care for anything but a good laugh (albeit sometimes at the expense of the right afterall it is his show).
I know I probably wasted 3 minutes of my life trying to correct you and you will remain the same.

I tend to enjoy Hannity and his passion for freedom and liberty. He’s a huge supporter of the Heritage Foundation and Hillsdale College. Yeah, he does talk over his guests quite often…that said, he isn’t a huge Republican supporter as some of you may think. I’ve listened to him pound the POTUS and his administration, the Republican and Democratic party into the ground and call out Pelosi and Boehner many times. I think Hannity is a pretty good guy, a family guy who is pained deeply by the state of affairs in this country. I generally enjoy his messages but I don’t listen and take anybodies word for anything until I’ve had a chance to verify. I learned that right here on this website.

          • http://! Angel Wannabe

Jeffh, Reagan said it all, “Trust _But Verify!”

          • DaveH

Hannity is a good man. I keep hoping that someday the lightbulb will go on and he will realize the Libertarians are the only way to go.
It would probably be hard, though, after investing so much of his career stumping for Republicans. But John Stossel made the change and admits openly that he used to be a Liberal. I love that guy. Judge Napolitano also.

        • http://www.personalliberty.com/news/muslim-organization-criticizes-tea-party-speaker-choice-19901265/ Sonia

Sean Hannity is for the most part a Conservative. Maybe you did not hear his criticism of House Speaker Boehner. He did an interview with Boehner who explained his position. I guess you can say that since there is no Conservative party, his opinions are those reflecting the conservatives and republicans.

I have been listening to several hosts on talk radio for several years, several times a week.

      • Bob

Jon Stewart is a liar and imbecile, as are you.

      • Robin from Arcadia, IN

Norm…. Sean Hannity’s show is a right leaning show. He has never tried to fool anyone by saying any different. This is where the confusion comes in. Watching the other networks, they make you think they are reporting the facts, without telling you that they are a left-leaning show. If a not so savvy person watches their programs, they think they are getting the truth in it’s wholeness. When in fact it is not.

        • Norm

MSNBC has some left leaning shows like Lawrence ODonnel, Ratchel Maddow, and Chris Matthews. But they make no bones about it, and always have guests from the right who they can attempt to discredit.
CNN, ABC, and CBS are really quite neutral and generally reflect the stance of the majority of people in this country (obviously not your views).

            http://www.mrc.org/public/default.aspx

  • Devasahayam

For Jeremy Leochner, Randyg, …; a lot of you make the error of taking the word “media” as singular (it’s plural).

US Lamestream media since 1960′s (they could have been called “mainstream” when “uncle” Walt Cronkite was alive, but long before Rather’s 2004 “memogate” fiasco they have been clones of USSR’s infamous Pravda and Izvestia) have been in-tank for socialists–especially the worst among the Democratic party (and hate Republicans, even RINO’s–as they showed with Jorge Bush Jr., savaging him for nearly his entire 8-years term).

For Stan Smith, have you ever read WND? I find it one of the best sites (far superior to Fox, which is partly-owned by Murdoch with another part owned by our enemies the degenerate Saudi royal family–though Joe Farah does credit Fox, but deservedly not the LSM, for actually reporting news). The fact that there are few conservative media is indeed sad–though the deficiency of US’ LSM can be partly remedied by sourcing from other nations’ even liberal media (such as UK’s BBC and Canada’s CBC).

    • Thamera

I agree with you and I think that part of the problem is that most people don’t read anymore.

    • Stan Smith

@ Devasahayam Your quote (For Stan Smith, have you ever read WND?) Yep I do! I listen to Jerry Doyle, Savage, Rick Roberts, I go to other online news source, most of the time Independent & conservative news source Which I like to compare notes do come up with same results sometimes they don’t always agree with each others findings when they need to point out some flaws to the news story! but conservatives(not a Repubic fan boys like FOX) & Independent news report REAL news that the Libtard media refuse to do!

  • George C

I read dozens of blogs daily and the vitriol is extended from both sides of the argument(s). I have a BS and an MS but those by themselves, do not make me smart. Paying attention to life and always learning does. Whether we are yelling about the lame street media or our socialist school system, there always seems to be something missing, a call to arms. We can rant all day on the internet

    • Bob

Quite true – someday actions will have to match words or America is doomed to become a bankrupt, socialist hell.

    • DaveH

If you are trying to incite violence, George, please go somewhere else.
If we can’t open eyes with our words, we sure wouldn’t be able to do it with violence. What you seem to be suggesting is just what the left would like us to do. And I suspect you are one of them.

      • JIBBS

If someone pointed a gun at you, would that get your attention? Sticks, stones, and guns can hurt me, name calling and bitching do nothing.

        • DaveH

Have you seen what a 50 caliber sniper rifle can do to your body, JIBBS? Do you really think violence would result in a good outcome, if the vast majority of people don’t support you? If you do, then you are Hoping and Dreaming just like the Liberals do.

          • JIBBS

@ Dave H & Jeff H. I made no call to arms, it was a simple question ( notice the ?) The reason I asked it was for the simple fact I’ve held up twice while working in Chicago, the guy with the gun had my utmost attention, and yes, I do know what a .50 round can do to the body. I’m just as pissed as the next person, but all the complaining and trying to vote in what is needed, seems to fall on deaf ears. As in the case of the illegal in the Whitehouse, do you see anyone in the government doing anything about it?, like a I”ve said before, COLB won’t get you a State i.d. It’s a bad idea to read into something, and read into it beyond what it was. Sorry if it was not clear enough, but it was only a question.

          • JeffH

JIBBS, my support was with DaveH in regards to comments like George made…not at all meant to be directed at you. There are a couple of people around here that push that envelope on occasion. I’m just not ready to openly advocate that method whether I believe in it or not because we haven’t reached that point..yet!

          • http://?? Joe H.

            DaveH,
As a matter of fact, I HAVE seen the results of a 50 cal hitting a man in the temple! Not a pretty sight. They called us in for a medevac when they should have called us for a graves run! I cleaned grey matter off the floor of my ship for a week!!

      • JeffH

DaveH, my thoughts exactly every time someone makes a “call to arms” on this website. That call should be the last call.

We can rant all day on the internet and only those who frequent the same blogs are affected. Our job is to spread the word, crawl away from your damned PC and talk to your family, your neighbors, your church, your community organizations. If we are serious about removing Obama, start communicating with everyone, not just who is reading this entry.

    • http://! Angel Wannabe

George C, Communication isn’t the problem, its getting everyone on the same page. “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make them drink”._Frankly the Progressives have had too much koolaid already!

    • DaveH

There is no better way to influence people than with the vast reach of the Internet, George. People are much less threatened communicating from the security of their own homes, and much more likely to actually consider the points of view of others then they would be in a person to person confrontation.
That is why the Government is trying every which way to control the Internet. They know their days in office are numbered if they allow such a free flow of information to continue.

      • http://! Angel Wannabe

        Daveh, You got that right!

So many of our citizens on both sides are so hell bent on attributing a college education to a degree of intelligence when as you so well stated Joe just like Einstein the majority of degree holders don’t have the sense to in from of the rain.
Most folks brag about their sons or daughters having a college education yet a lot of them still live at home unable to take care of themselves.
Although some professions require a higher education I cannot see spending thousands upon thousands of dollars on a so called education to wind-up driving a garbage truck.
Out of 300 millions + Americans, how many of you people think that we can all become doctors, lawyers or politicians ? We can all see how well it’s working…Common sense tells me that we need some common laborers to take care of all of those educated geniuses.
Thanks Joe, I don’t feel so alone in my thoughts…..

        • Thamera

Not only that, people “cry” how unfair life is but they don’t want to do what it requires to become a doctor for example in school for 14 years, or risk starting their own business or put in the hours required, expense and headache to truly be successful. It is much easier to complain about your “lot in life” then to actually do something about it.

Current law already prevents federal money from paying for abortions. This has been the law of the land for over 30 years. Planned Parenthood has provided women throughout the U.S. with important family planning and contraceptive services as well as screening for breast and cervical cancers for low-income women. Planned Parenthood provides services to women, of which 3 percent is abortion and the rest largely preventive care like pap smears and cancer screenings. Every dollar of reduced funding to Planned Parenthood increases federal spending by $4. It doesn’t take an economist to know why.
Perhaps we should allow women to incorporate their uterus.

The combination of the GOP tax cuts and spending reductions increased the deficit by $32 billion. Even more, because then we’ll lose the tax revenue from the affected jobs and then have to pay unemployment for most and welfare and food stamps for some. Ryan’s plan will cost 700,000 jobs, 200,000 in the private sector because the federal government is so heavily contracted. Within ten years of inception, more than half of seniors will be unable to afford health insurance. That influx of the newly uninsured in the highest risk and highest cost group will skyrocket cost for everyone else. It’s a blueprint for the total breakdown of our healthcare system.

In reference to the budget not being produced on schedule, does the word ‘filibuster’ ring a bell?

    • Bob

PP should be defunded regardless of what “good” it performs. It is a vast murder machine that should be shut down. Remember, the socialists Stalin, Mao, Hitler, and Pol Pot all performed some “good” acts, but their murder of tens of millions makes the world a better place now that they are gone. Of course, as an obvious socialist, you probably don’t see the evil in what they did or what PP is still doing.

    • DaveH

      Harry,
We could pay people to catalog rocks in the desert too. They would be working hard, and thinking too. Would it be good for our economy? No, because their product is undesirable to the consumers. Consumers will pay for desirable products or services from their own pockets. Government, however, is more than happy to pay for undesirable products or services out of our own pockets. Why not, it’s not their money?
All the services that PP provides could and should be paid for with the users’ own money, period, whether you deem them desirable or not. Donate your own money, not ours.
Do you think people are more likely to not make mistakes if they pay for them, or if other people are forced to pay for them? That is why Socialism fails miserably wherever it is implemented. The School of Hard Knocks can only teach those who pay for their own mistakes.

  • James

The federal budget for fiscal 2011 is $3.64 trillion, and the deficit will amount to $1.6 trillion. That is, $0.44 of every dollar spent must be borrowed. That’s the problem, neither party will change that drastically because millions of Americans, drawing federal entitlements, would be financially devastated and vote them out of office.

  • jopa

Jeremy:You are right on with your article and the people on this site get all there info from Faux news.Fox does say over and over that they are fair and balanced and these people started actually believing it after hearing that for years. The sad part of all this is the comedy channel with Stewart and Colbert are more credible.Fox may have higher ratings because it is on basic cable and and in more media outlets and you have to pay more for the real news.Fox also has a tendency to hire clowns and bimbos that many of the clueless like to watch rather than go to a real circus.

    • Bob

There is more truth in one minute of FOX News than there is in a day’s worth of lieberal propaganda outlets.

    • Thamera

Jopa, since you seem to know so much about what is on television (this is for Norm and the like) then I would say you are watching to much TV! When in the world do all of you people find so much time to even watch TV? When was the last time you read, say, a book? YOU should really try it…you might actually LEARN something!

    • Vigilant

      jopa,

Your continuing harangues in the face of facts that you refuse to see are truly pitiful. Independent researchers have consistently characterized Fox News as one of the most, if not the most, fair and balanced of all the news networks. And your tap dancing about basic cable is a sham. Hint: non-cable news is available to many more people than cable.

Another pitiful thing is your hit-and-run tactic of simply leaving the scene of the crime when you’ve been proven wrong. When Ben Crystal yesterday reported that “the recent annual convention of the California Federation of Teachers—a cell of the American Federation of Teachers—passed a resolution at their annual convention extolling the virtues of the cop-killer,” your response was as follows:

“One conservative blog makes up a story and the rest take it as fact.Fox news is good for this also.I would like to see the actual minutes of the meeting where this action supposedly occurred. All I can find are conservative blogs with the same story that makes no sense at all.Why would they give a rip?”

DaveH provided a link to the actual resolutions of the CFT, proving Mr. Crystal’s point, and what did you do? You ran away with your tail between your legs, and as the coward you are, you didn’t deign to retract or amend your posting.

You are the epitome of the craven liars found on the left. And I’ll bet you have no hemorrhoids, you’re a perfect a$$hole. Not that that stops you from being a pain in the a$$ to everyone else.

Wake up, grow a pair and man up to the truth when you make mistakes or are caught in outright lies!

      • Vigilant

And I expect that your answer, if you have the balls to render one, will be, as always, short on fact and long on BS.

Do you or do you not retract what you said about the CFT resolution?

      • Thamera

Actually I do believe that I saw a post from Jopa admitting he was wrong on that, but you bring up a bigger point Vigilant and that is, if Jopa was clueless about the story of the CTU and so quick to criticize it as a lie…then where does he get his information????

        • Vigilant

Moveon.org, Mediamatters.org, Huffpost. ACLU, and other communist sites, I have no doubt

        • Vigilant

In fairness to jopa, he did post a response, as follows: “DaveH: Thanks for the link I do believe it now and that is crazy.Typical of that California mentality. Many a loony out there right JeffH”

I didn’t notice it because he posted some hours later, and not within the comment thread but lower down.

jopa, my apologies for a wrong example.

    • JeffH

jopa, then by all accounts according to you, FOX must have hired you to blog on this website.

    • DaveH

      Jopa,
Save your clueless Liberal pronouncements for the Liberal boards. Most of the people here know better.

    • Carlucci

jopa, I sure wish you would stop with the generalizations. The only time I tune into Fox is when I remember to watch Judge Napolitano and John Stossel. Otherwise, I find Fox to be just as bad and biased as the other “news” channels.

      • Vigilant

        Carlucci,

I would say that O’Reilly and Hannity are presented with a bias, but the straight news reports, i.e., Bret Baier and Shep Smith, are excellent objective news stories.

        • Vigilant

Let me add that Napolitano and Stossel are GREAT!

          • DaveH

You reminded me to tune in the judge. Thanks. But I did have to endure Caroline Heldman (gag me), professor at Occidental College. Listening to her makes me realize how our kids are getting so screwed up in college.

          • DaveH

She was telling Charles Payne how he just needed to get closer to the poor people so he could realize their predicament. He was raised in the Ghetto! How much closer can he get? A Liberal white woman claiming to have experience with the poor people. Unbelievable.

We have a spending problem and is called: Obama/Reid money drains.

Obama/Reid’s solutions are the same solutions that brought us to this crisis. Taxes for the rich are brakes for a growing economy. Keeping funding programs with money we don’t have to cover programs that are non-essential. Spending money in new programs when we have no money makes no sense whatsoever like Obamacare, creating green energy like wind mills that are prohibitive costly, high speed rail, the vacation trips for king/queen Obama, and on and on and on…

We need to CUT Obama/Reid’s spending budget in any way we can.

  • Dingle

We often hear of impeachment concerning the President. Why wouldn’t failing the basic purpose of Congress of passing a budget be an “impeachable offense” for all those responsible for the mess?

Of course I could see that if it were so, it too would become a political football for the leaders to control which members of Congress get impeached. Nah, better let that one go.

See what a problem it is when the inmates run the asylum (pass the rules.)

  • jopa

Vigilant: I know you heard on Fox news that they are the most fair and balanced but you have to learn that if Faux news tells you this they may be lying. Then you go on to say I am involved in hit and run tactics when I was proven wrong on Ben Chrystals comment, ran with my tail tucked between my legs and was very cowardly. If you would be a little more vigilant and go back to Bens site you will see that I did comment last night on the Joe H accuracy of the statement. He was right and I truly appreciated that he took the time to find out this information. Then you go on to tell me you get your facts from”Truly pitiful independent researchers”. If these are your resources along with Fox news you have been struck with a double whammy.I also think you might be a guy so quit looking between my legs.Thank you.

    • DaveH

      Jopa,
Don’t just fabricate facts about Fox News. Show us some of their “lies”. Any ordinary Liberal can fabricate facts.

    • Vigilant

      jopa says,

“If you would be a little more vigilant and go back to Bens site you will see that I did comment last night on the Joe H accuracy of the statement. He was right and I truly appreciated that he took the time to find out this information. Then you go on to tell me you get your facts from”Truly pitiful independent researchers”.

jopa, see my post higher up where I apologized to you. You, my friend, might wish to learn how to keep a response within the discussion thread instead of posting at the very bottom every time. It’s not my fault that your posting methods are as disconnected as your thinking.

We ALL would have appreciated it if YOU had taken the time to do a modicum of research before you shot from the hip. And your totally dishonest misquote of what I said proves my point about your taking liberties with the truth. Let me repeat it so you can get your glasses and read it the way i said it: “Your continuing harangues in the face of facts that you refuse to see are truly pitiful. Independent researchers have consistently characterized Fox News as one of the most, if not the most, fair and balanced of all the news networks.”

You stitch a fragment of one sentence to another and call that a “quote?” Please note those minor things like a period followed by a capital letter. I know that grammar and punctuation don’t mean much to you in the mentally challenged group, so you might want to take a course in basic English.

Jeffh; I was offered Glen Becks position but they told me I would have to drop a lot of acid before I qualified.

You mean you’d have to drop more acid, don’t you Jopa?

Thamera: Over the winter months I do watch too much television and as far as reading I was hooked on that for years and actually had a hard time getting away from it.I am more of an outdoor person and just trying to get accustomed to retirement after working all my life from eight to sixteen hours a day and it all comes to a screeching halt.I would still rather be working, retirement isn’t all it is cracked up to be.

    • Thamera

So I have heard Jopa (about retirement) that is. But I have to ask, why would you try to get away from reading? Reading has value and is a great resource of information as well as insight into the “human condition”. All of our founding fathers were well read for example.

    • DaveH

Then get a hobby, Jopa. Learn how to quilt, or do some woodworking. Whatever floats your boat. There’s nothing at all keeping you from being active.

    • http://deleted Claire

jopa– You are correct. With retirement, a person MUST remain active. They have to think outside the box by doing other things. My husband concentrated on hunting and golfing. Now he cannot hunt, he hasn’t been able to do the walking aspect for several years. He will play golf from time to time but he has to ride a cart. I love him dearly but he simply refuses to “do” other things. He reads the newspaper, and other magazines and he lets the dogs out all day while I am at work but he spends his time laying on the bed and watching TV. He needs to walk and be active. With all of his health issues, I would say he is depressed, it is almost like he has “given up” at times. I have 2 males that need their championship–I have told him that he is going with me to the dog shows. That should help. In years past, I went to the dog shows and he went hunting or golfing so now I just have to try to keep him busy doing other things, somehow. A retired person must remain active–bodywise and brainwise. The old adage – “If you don’t use it, you lose it” is so true.

    • Karolyn

Wow! I would love to not have to work and do all the things I now have no time for. Even with my SS, I have to work at least a part time job. • Thamera

Great article. Great explanation of what’s going on. Some facts I already knew, plus some new ones, but overall, it’s just a good summary/explanation that I will forward to a few of my dumbass liberal friends. I think they might even understand it. But, come to think of it, I doubt it. They’ll probably just shrug and say it’s Bush’s fault.

Seriously, I think we should divide the USA in half and let the liberals/democrats live isolated from the rest of us, and try to survive on their own. I honestly can’t think of an idea from the left that has ever worked or has ever been stronger than its counterpart on the right.

When has the media ever qyestioned Obama Or his Progressive Party
about anything.? Obama has had a free ride from the very begining.
The main street Media (New York Times has been caught in so many lies as Obama) has never questioned anything Obama has ever done. With-
out their help he would never have been elected. As for Fox news,
every thing they say they back it up with proof. They have the left
and right on their programs. This is why they are called Americas
only fair and balanced news programs. They are watched by more
people than all the major news programs combined. The newspapers
are a nother story. They are so liberal, they stink like rotten
potatoes. You need to do your homework and find out who Obama is
and who is advisors are and what they stand for.I`ll give you one person to find out about, there are many. His name is,Van Jones and
the questions are 1- Is Van Jones a Communist? 2- Where did he come from? 3- What type of work did he do? 4- Who brought him to Washington? 5-What job was he brought to do? 6-What job does he do now? 7-Who is Valerie Jarrett and what is her conection with Jones?
Please let me know, this could be a big change in your life. Good luck
with you schooling.I hope you do well,it sounds like your on thr right track.

Listen. Most of us are older. Perhaps there was a time when we felt as you do.

We all have been busy working and trying to provide an easier life for our kids/grandkids. All the while things have been going the wrong way behind our backs. Now…alot of us are waking up, some have been awake, more are still asleep.

Freedom and liberty as defined by our Founding Fathers is in very deep trouble. I am fighting for freedom and will fight everyday until God calls me.

My kids are a few years older than you. I want all of you young men and women to be free. The govt will only enslave all of you and us also.

Me and most on this site will not be enslaved. The others (libs/progs) think that they will be spared because they are more educated, smarter, agree, I don’t know WTF they think.

Bottom line, you must make you own decision…most of these people want you to prosper. Alot of us have kids your age. Listen to the mothers here worrying about their kids.

Finally. I left you 2 sites to check out. sonsoflibertyacademy.com
and dont-tread-on.me if we lose our liberty, all is lost, unless we are aware and prepared.

It only takes 218 votes in the House to stop the borrowing and spending madness and start returning this country to fiscal sanity and constitutionally limited government.

I am convinced the only way we will achieve that goal is to starve the beast. And Republicans, those we sent to Washington to take over the House in November, have all the power to do that – right now, not in 2012 or 2013.

I’m amazed at how effective this campaign has been in such a short time – while literally no one else outside of the Capitol was doing any serious lobbying on the issue or even talking seriously about the idea of a no vote on raising the debt limit.

Do you realize how close we are to taking Washington back?

If we pull this out, it would completely tie the hands of Obama and the Democrats for the next two years. They themselves – the Democrats – would be forced to make massive cuts in spending that would require defunding Obamacare, pulling the plug on Planned Parenthood, even killing entrenched unconstitutional bureaucracies like the Department of Education. They simply wouldn’t have any choice.

Sounds pretty radical, doesn’t it? Sounds almost too good to be true.

The only thing stopping us from achieving this victory is the position of the House Republican leadership, which says we must raise the debt limit or risk default on our loan obligations – mimicking what they’ve heard from the Federal Reserve and the treasury secretary.

    But it’s not true.

The Heritage Foundation, Investors Business Daily, the CATO Institute and many other credible and authoritative sources have looked at this question and determined that is simply not the case. Washington could still continue to meet the payments on its loan obligations and continue all of its vital and constitutional obligations to the American people with its trillions of dollars of revenues.

    Think about it.

Here’s an opportunity for you to take Washington back

In November we had an historic election.

Republicans took over the House of Representatives and made gains in the Senate.

They did so because Americans recognized they made a big mistake in the previous election. They didn’t like the fact that the people in power were trying to “fundamentally transform” America from its roots as a self-governing nation under the rule of law to one based on top-down, command-and-control tyranny.

Since then, I’ve been watching Republican leaders in the House trying to reason with the Democrats, trying to bargain with them, trying to negotiate some middle ground with them, trying to compromise with them on issues that fundamentally do not have any room for bargaining, negotiating, compromise or middle ground.

We’ve all been watching the debate over fiscal policy taking place in Washington: Republicans proposing modest cuts in government, apparently expecting Barack Obama and Democrats in the Senate to go along with them in the interest of saving the country from economic collapse from unsustainable debt.

Of course, Obama and the Democrats will have none of it. They think because they control the White House and the Senate they should continue to dictate policy – even if their policies are clearly driving the nation off a cliff into bankruptcy and depression. And most of us look at that and think, “You know, it’s too bad. But I guess there isn’t anything we can really do until 2012.”

That’s the trouble with conservatives. They’re too conservative – even when times call for radical action to preserve the foundations of our country.

Let me tell you how conservatives need to be responding to the national emergency we find ourselves in today.

    (Letter continues below)

When Republicans won the House last November, I started asking myself what could they accomplish in the next two years to derail the destructive, irrational policies of Obama and the Democrats – with control of the House alone.

What could they do to stop the advance of Obamacare?

What could they do to save the economy?

What could they do defund Planned Parenthood?

What could they do to end subsidies for left-wing propaganda on NPR and PBS?

What could they do to get Washington out of education to stop the indoctrination of another generation of kids?

What could they do to ensure we didn’t double the debt again in the next two years as we did in Obama’s first two years in office?

What could they do to start moving us back to constitutionally limited government?

It seemed impossible at first to figure out a strategy that could actually advance the agenda.

But then it hit me – as it did a few members of Congress, people like Sen. Jim DeMint, Rep. Michelle Bachmann and Rep. Ron Paul.

The answer was for Republicans in the House of Representatives to simply say no to raising the debt limit, while also saying no to any increase in taxes.

There’s a lot of power in saying “no” when you control one of the houses of Congress.

So I started an innovative, high-tech, grass-roots lobbying campaign to persuade just Republicans to do that.

When it started two months ago, we could identify only about six Republicans in the House who were on board with a no vote on raising the debt limit.

Then we began the “No More Red Ink” campaign targeting just the 241 Republicans who control the House. We empowered Americans with a tool that allowed them inexpensively and efficiently to send red letters to all 241 Republican House members urging them to say no to any hike in the debt limit – an action that would require the federal government to stop borrowing immediately and make the biggest cuts in spending in the history of the country.

So far, we have enabled nearly 1 million of those letters to be delivered to House Republicans.

About a month ago, we polled House Republicans on where they stood on this critical issue. And we found to our own amazement that 122 stood firmly opposed to raising the debt limit for any reason – just about half.

Two weeks ago, as the campaign continued, we polled again and found 142, a clear majority, were now deadset against raising the debt limit.

Nobody else in America has the privilege of borrowing endlessly to pay for whatever they feel like spending – no companies, no individuals, not even state or local governments.

It’s not responsible and it’s not sustainable.

The biggest fiscal problem we have in America is unsustainable debt. How are we going to address that with continued borrowing? It makes no sense.

What we see in Washington today is Keynesian economics gone wild. There is no borrowing solution to America’s economic problems. America’s economic problems are the result of too much borrowing.

In the next 30 days, conservatives and Republicans are going to have to make a choice. Do we allow Obama and the Democrats to continue borrowing to pay for their insane, extra-constitutional programs or do we just say no?

House Republicans have all the power to just say no. The vast majority of them want to say no. But their leadership is telling them they can’t. If John Boehner on Monday morning had an epiphany on this and gave his membership permission to think outside the box and to use their power to reverse course, they would do it in a heartbeat.

Believe it or not, there are even a few Democrats who would go along with them – several in the House and Senate are already on record as opposing a hike in the debt limit.

That’s the choice we face in the next 30 days – and, under the radar screen, we are making real progress toward this objective.

If you want to be a part of this historic effort, I urge you all to go to NOMOREREDINK.com and send your letters today – right now.

I’m telling you this because it’s the only hope of beginning the turnaround our country so desperately needs right now – not in 2013, which seems like a long way from now.

It was the dumocrats that messed up the government years ago. They put the social security fund into the general fund. That way they could steal from it to pay for their stupid pet projects.

    • http://deleted Claire

As far as I am concerned, both parties put a world of hurt on America and all Americans.

      • Jana

        Clair,
You are so right. That is why people like you and me and most of the others on this site have been awakened to the truth and what we are about to lose in this country. That is why we must keep on voicing our opinions to each other and our representatives and voting for honest men and women to represent us.
They get up there and forget they are working for us, and start enjoying their big club in Washington. We need new blood up there every few years to keep things honest.

  • kevinl

You see …. that devilish Reagan started all the messes we have right now, and he got great support from you crazy Republican rednecks. Tax Cuts, Deregulation, Uinion busting, etc. are the devil’s policies that past to Bush Jr.. You rednecks did nothing but destroyed your own and country’s interests! For I suggest you rednecks just hold your breath for 20 minutes and be done with it!

    • JeffH

      baaaaaa, baaaaa, baaaaa!

    • DaveH

Union busting — the devil’s policy?
How quaint. To stop people from ganging up and using thuggish behavior to deprive other people of their property is now the devil’s policy? Dream on, Kevin.
      Are you blogging from prison?

      • JeffH

Are you blogging from prison? DaveH, that is too funny, thanks for the chuckle.

      • kevinl

Explain what you meant ganging up and depriving people’s properties! You clown and the rest of us are almost at the slaughter house — you redneck still don’t get! Unless you are one of the wealthy bandits, you are, as a common folk(or rather redneck), less well off generally. The middle class and lower class have been getting poorer and yet the Rich got fantastically richer. So where did much of the wealth go? The common folks got poorer(less/lost wealth); the Rich gained much more wealth. Where did people’s money go? Over the past 30+ years, the money went straight into the pockets of the Wealthy Bandits! And many, many people were so stupid enough in supporting the right-wing policies to bring this about. If you think right now is bad enough, just wait and see what’s coming! Wake up!

        • DaveH

If I have to explain to you how Unions practice their coercion on others, you are too ignorant to understand my explanation.

          • kevinl

Well, that’s exactly what I thought: You couldn’t explain your trash-talking! What properties, coercion, etc.? Let me tell you how the unions in this came about, and of course there were/are some union abuses but not the cause trashing and ridding the unions. An example is apt to explain your confused and incometent mind! Do you hear how people complain about the Chinese labor practices( slave wages, dangerous working conditions, all the pollutions and poisoning lakes and food, etc.)? Those things happened in this country way back at the beginning of the Industrial Revolution just like China is doing now, and That’s why the Unions in this country came about to demand for fair wages, safe working conditions, hours- limit, etc. You clown and the rest of us working class benefited tremendously and that’s why we don’t have those problems occuring in China. But you and right wing Republican thugs tried their best to undo all that — retrograde to the bad past! You and those of your types are clueless in supporting the right-wing Republican policies that only hurt your own interests.

          • Jana

            kevinl,
It has been explained several times by many people. You have blinded eyes because you refuse to see. You are the one talking trash here.

          • kevinl

Janna, you are clueless like a heating donkey! Be quiet, would you?

          • http://?? Joe H.

            Kevinl,
let me tell you exactly what unions have done for me. when I first came to Ohio, I had a decent job that I enjoyed doing and got along fairly well with my boss and the owner. Well, along came the teamsters and raided the shop. Well we argued and discussed and then when we decided we didn’t want to go on strike, the teamsters walked away from us and the owner laid off the whole second shif, me included. I also had a decent job with Faraday inc in Tecumseh Mich, which was represented by the IBEW. Well, they convinced us that we had to strike and we went out for three months, only to come back to the same thing the whole second shift being laid off, ME INCLUDED!!
I also worked for a shop that my dad put 40 years in. UAW shop it was. I had just made my probationary period so I paid my first dues payment and as I was carrying a huge pan of parts to my jobsite, one of the big bosses, that didn’t like my dad, dam near knocked me on my azz by running into me. Even though I had two wittnesses that swore he did it on purpose, the union did NOTHING for me and I was laid off!! Now You tell me why in the hell I should support ANY union???

          • kevinl

            JoeH,

Sad to hear your story! Like I said there were/are some union abuses, just like any institutions, and we should try to fix and rectify them. But we should not just eliminate the Unions!

        • DaveH

And it’s odd to me that you think the poor are getting poorer, yet want to build Government even larger. Government has grown to double the size it was in 1950. They now spend 40% of our GDP instead of the 20% spent in 2010. Obviously, by your own admission, it isn’t working for us.

          • DaveH

That should be “spent in 1950″.

        • DaveH

So, KevinL, calls me a “clown” and a “redneck”, and then has the unmitigated gaul to call me down on my “trash talking” because I called him ignorant. Typical rabid, controlling, thieving Liberal.

          • kevinl

I ain’t liberal, I despise partisanship — the way you right-wing fools got conned into hurting your own interests. I tried to enlighten you rednecks not to be blind by ideology and partisanship. My comments are more than enough to enlighten and civilize any normal, open-minded citizens any where. Wake up!

  • vicki

How can you tell when a politician is lying. Oh yeah. Their lips are moving. This budget drama is just the currently most obvious proof.

kevinl, no, it all started when the first acadamic slub Wilson was Prez, and his bastardized lap b–ch FRD, stayed in office for years. Both were just Onumnutt Lites, who also never had done a damn thing in life except vacation and promote a dictatorshp government. Don’t know if it the name kevin. But most kevins in my experience are democraps, government workers all of some type, small minded and are always planning on scamming the government programs or anyone and anything the come across. By you comment on Reaga, I was never so glad when he got elected after being under the Carter fuel crisis and high unemployment and his whimp response to the radicals in Iran. All hitting the country when the peanut Carter was in office. Another dumb bastard that was into the airy fairy green energy and the closing of refineries. Now we have more choices in getting our “news” from other sources besides the big socialist marxist/communist liberial loving big 3. Most marxist/communists hate to give GW any credit for bringing the most long term money into the Treasury, and job growth and lowest unemployment for years, that has never been beat before or done since. The onumnutts and the dems stimulas trillion dollar program only help their Wall Street smucks and agancies that they bow down to. Corporations, Wall Street, and any world wide businesses are all democrap jock strap hangers that have been and have always been. Media sure dropped all the dem tax cheats and proven thugs and crimminal or the close ties Soros control of the party.

    • kevinl

Tell and explain to me, though I don’t any person is perfect and faultless, how come out of the depression, under FDR and his later disciples(democratic and republican — I.e. Truman, Eisenhower, etc. made the country so prosperous during 50′s and such. And you look at the tax rates and other things at the time that Reagan started to destroy and destroyed the country.

      • Thamera

why don’t you do a little research Kevin and find out how WRONG YOU ARE?

        • kevinl

          Thamara,

You are an ignorant gadfly; for you don’t know you are talking about. Please hush!

          • Jana

            kevinl,
You are talking about yourself. Take your own advice. You are a typical lie-beral who wants to control everyone else. If we don’t agree with you then you want us to shut up. This is a free board and you are not in control of it, PRAISE THE LORD!

          • http://?? Joe H.

            Jana,
you’ll have to forgive and excuse kevinl as life is hard to understand for a fifteen year old still living in mom and dads basement!!! He still has to get used to the fact that girls aren’t “yukky”!!!!!

          • kevinl

Jana and the rest of you rednecks should just hush and hold your dirty and ignorant breath for just 20 minutes; so I don’t have to hear from you incorrible rednecks.

          • Jana

            Joe H,
You are so right. We must forgive poor ole kevinl as he says in his own words he “ain’t a liberal”. And, he ain’t very smart and he jes cain’t hep hisself.

          • kevinl

            Jana,

You are a silly donkey seeking a really bad jackass. But don’t … you just rather suck my big toe carpeted with Athlete’s foot. Be quiet and stay quiet!

A lot of the liberals do not like intelligent news agencies like FOX, because most of the liberals can not follow the thread of what is going on since the liberal media gives opinions as if they were news. Opinions are not news and the person following real news has to be informed in more ways than one. The news can be slanted to give a certain perception and the liberal media relies on that approach. The liberal news can not be trusted because they are the mouthpiece of the current socialist encroached democrats. I do not need someone to translate for me the garbage that Obama, Reid, Pelosi and their gang put out as pronouncements, I can hear it myself and KNOW that all they care is about holding on to power, staying in power forever all the while changing us into a poor socialist country, like other countries who lost or are ignorant of liberty and freedom of ideas, ideas that have provided innovation and a thriving economy now in crisis with the help of the Democrats who had congress and Senate since 2006.

The liberal media elevated Obama to heights he did not deserve, but for some of us, we knew it was just hype and jibe, not hope and change, Obama hates this country, and is doing his best to take it down, remember what he said about America’s exceptionalism.

Now that the Republicans control Congress, the whiner Democrats will be whining, distorting and lying and they do not get that the American people are trying to stop their disastrous policies for this country.

Either Rush or Trmp has more skill and experience in the real world, than any dumbocrap marxist/communist socialist ever has. All of you left tilting bastards are to stupid yo even think for your selves or check out facts, when they are printed. like Onumnutts books.

    • Denniso

Trump knows a bit about high finance,Limbaugh knows how to fleece people while babbling nonsense…

      • Thamera

Is that so Denniso…and what, might I ask, do you know?

        • JeffH

          T, easy answer…babbling nonsense!

          • DaveH

If we had been advocating Trump, Denniso would have ridiculed us for that. He’s just a troll.

          • Denniso

Gee, did I hit a sensitive nerve in Dave by stating the obvious about Limbaugh the drug dealer and demagogue? No serious person thinks that he knows anything and that all he does is whip up his minions w/ hate and fear, while living like a king off his spoils.

Trump is hardly a serious candidate and is making some noise joining in the lunacy about Obama’s birth. A joke.

          • JeffH

            …still babbling nonsense…

i haven’t seen anything about Rush being a DEALER, perhaps you know something from your own DEALINGS that we don’t???? Is this a case of one knowing another???

          • Denniso

Limbaugh used his house maid to get oxycontin for him off the streets.
Oh,you will say it’s OK though because he was addicted…I wonder how many drug addicts get let out of jail for that reason? Limbaugh is a lying pig,not a man.

          • http://?? Joe H.

            denniso,
do you know what you just said could get you sued for slander??? Rush was never a DEALER, he was a customer!! Big difference!!! If you can’t tell the difference or don’t know it, do some research!!!

        • Thamera

And still Denniso, you don’t answer my question…just more name calling and slander. Pathetic.

          • Denniso

Name calling? Who did I call names? Limbaugh is a demagogue, which is not name calling or slander. And I don’t see any question from you that makes any sense.

Bert is correct. Even Rupert Murdoch is a sellout.

There may be several truly freedom-minded Publishers, in America. But, I highly doubt they have much of an audience.

Anthony – When it really hit me that FoxNews was just as controlled as the others was when they all defended Obama’s BC and history. No one wanted to touch this, or any other, of the real issues that people are concerned about. It’s not so much as what they report, but what they DON’T report.

I’ve seen many times how they packpeddle when a touchy subject comes up, and how they stoop to government pressure.

They are ALL controlled. Fox is just there to make us believe we have a voice. They all steer us down the road laid out by the corporate cabal.

      • http://deleted Claire

Kate8–I agree with you concerning the MSM. Like politicians, they tell us what they want us want to hear.

I would like to throw something out here.
Obama’s mother was an American Citizen. As much as I don’t like Obama, he is an American Citizen, and this is a moot point. He may have dual citizenship and that needs to be answered. What we do know is that he really holds no allegiance to this country. He wants to change this country from the great country that we have always been, to Socialism and Communism. He needs to be stopped.
Right now we have anchor babies that would be eligible to run for Pres. Wow what an awful thought, but what is the difference since his mother was a citizen?

DaveH, I tend to agree with you on this.

First off, kudos to Anthony for his post.
Now even though I’m not a fan of Ronald Reagan, (in my humble opinion the last true Conservative was Barry Goldwater) I will acknowledge the excellence and foresight he showed by establishing the Grace Commission. Here’s a little background info:

The Private Sector Survey on Cost Control (PSSCC), commonly referred to as The Grace Commission, was an investigation requested by United States President Ronald Reagan, in 1982. The focus of it was waste and inefficiency in the US Federal government. Its head, businessman J. Peter Grace, asked the members of that commission to “be bold” and “work like tireless bloodhounds. Don’t leave any stone unturned in your search to root out inefficiency.”

The Grace Commission Report was presented to Congress in January 1984. The report claimed that if its recommendations were followed, $424 billion could be saved in three years, rising to $1.9 trillion per year by the year 2000. It estimated that the national debt, without these reforms, would rise to $13 trillion by the year 2000, while with the reforms they projected it would rise to only $2.5 trillion.[3] Congress ignored the commission’s report. The debt reached $5.8 trillion in the year 2000.[4][5] The national debt reached 13 trillion after the subprime mortgage-collateralized debt obligation crisis in 2008.

The report said that one-third of all income taxes is consumed by waste and inefficiency in the federal government, and another one-third escapes collection owing to the underground economy. “With two thirds of everyone’s personal income taxes wasted or not collected, 100 percent of what is collected is absorbed solely by interest on the federal debt and by federal government contributions to transfer payments. In other words, all individual income tax revenues are gone before one nickel is spent on the services [that] taxpayers expect from their government.”

Here’s some links you should check out:
    http://www.uhuh.com/taxstuff/gracecom.htm
    http://thetruthnews.info/GraceCommissionReport.pdf

Bottom line: If Congress (both sided of the Aisle) had acted on these recommendations we wouldn’t be faced with this debacle we see in D.C. right now.

(For the Conspiracy theorists… Reagan was shot not long after criticizing the Fed and IRS)(After his recovery he did a 180 on his views in this regard… Hmmm????)

Just the same don’t they ask me to fork my money out for their irresponsible choices, many are losing their home because they chose to furnish them with the most expensive furnitures ,big screen TV’s and all of the latest gadgets possible and have 3 or 4 cell phones and 300 channels coming to their 60 inch flat screens, I didn’t put a gun to their heads to go so far in the hole, they made their bed now they can lie in it and stay the hell out of my wallet……..

I was agreeing with you, don’t ask me to pay for them to enjoy life for free.

CHIP THANKS The good news is that all that is done in darkness will one day be brought into the light and shouted from the housetops. Light has come into the world but many men love darkness rather than light, because their deed’s are evil. WITHOUT HONESTY AND INTEGRITY IS THERE ANY REASON WHY GOD SHOULD ALLOW US TO CONTINUE TO EXIST??? I have been thinking about Annanias and Sapphira a lot of late and how God struck them dead for lying. Act’s chapter five.

Norm, your assessment of all the other networks being “mainstream” and only Fox showing a bias is absurd. If that were true it’s not likely they’d have the ratings and audience they have. The fact of the matter is that they’re the only network that’s straight forward about who they are and even make an attempt to be factual and address other opinions waithout bashing them, disparaging them or just plain trashing them. As far as the objectivity of Hannity, I’d put his up against The View and its crew anyday.

I’m not a fan of progessivism, socialism or marxism so you’re right in assuming that we will disagree.

Claire; You are right about use it or lose it when it comes to being active. When I was fifty two I picked up non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and have been in remission for the last ten years but in the meantime nodules were spotted on my lungs and I went in for biopsies. The cancer didn’t knock me down it was the biopsies that took my breathing capacity away.Down to about 28% which isn’t much.My wife and three of my daughters are nurses and they keep on me about being active and it works. We go on a cruise or two a year as a family group and just last November there were 28 in our group and the grandkids kept me busy.I think life is great and you are on the right track in prodding your husband to be active.I even bought a 700 Yamaha Grizzly quad just to keep moving and not lay around and read books or watch the tube.Little things here and there to do and they do add up for better mobility.Good luck with your “Champs”.

jopa–Thankfully, at my age I can still run! I have to–I have 2 males that can really move around the show ring! I am still working, showing dogs is not a cheap hobby and I prefer to use my paycheck for showing my dogs. I plan on working for about another year. By then, my dogs will have their championships and I will be able to “look back” and remember the “wild ride” I had showing all my dogs for the past 28 years, and that I did it “myself” with the help of a professional handler only few times.
They say if a woman tells her age, she will “tell” anything. Maybe so, I don’t know. All I know is that I hit 70 this past January and by cracky I am going to keep plugging away! I will be able to look back and know I did what I wanted to do in life, I have had a good decent life, I will have no regrets.

jopa,I love retirement, and people in good health and who prepared
for retirement, money wise and didn`t count on the goverment to
support their lavish life styles, while they were working are enjoying
their golden years. Everything is based on how you prepare. My Social
Security check is nothing but pocket change to me. You make your
retirement, not the goverment. I have friends who made the same kind of money I made and don`t have a pot to piss in. They wonder why I have so much and they don`t. I can tell you, my Dad said, when you get your pay check every week, you pay youself first and save or invest that money and when you retire you will have a nice retirement.
Never think you can retire on Social Security alone.

    • Thamera

Charles, Jopa, Clair: I couldn’t agree with you all more, except I would add one thing: I don’t plan on social security at all because I don’t think it is going to be there 25-30 years from now. But you are all certainly right about staying active. My mother and her husband participate in the Senior Olympics each year and her husband still practices as a chiropractor (at 73) Even my grandmother at 95 still writes articles for her local newspaper and does the police report each week. Every time I start getting depressed about getting older I think about them. My mom’s husband has been blessed with good health, well they both have, and is still hard as a rock. Would probably put a lot of 30 year olds to shame! So much of it all comes down to personal choice and as humans we tend to like the “path of least resistance” I think even though we know it isn’t going to get us where we need to go. You are all good examples of making good choices and being prepared.

      • http://deleted Claire

Thamera– The subject of retirement has me thinking: As a person ages, death is imminent although it can happen at an earlier age. My outlook on death is probably different, who knows. Whenever I think of death, my first thought is: while I am not afraid of death, I will fight it. I will fight it for as long as I can. I am not ready to leave. It will be hard for me to give in to death (unless I end up horribly ill). I guess I am greedy, I want more time on earth. I want more time to enjoy my husband, my kids and grandkids, my dogs, my friends, my neighbors, my home, and nature. I love my life, everything about life and the earth. Sure, there have been a few hard times in my life, but when I look around, I thank God for all that he has given me. I better quit, or I will be rambling again.

Speaking of retirement, so do I. I just recieved this from a friend in an email.

“I’ve often been asked, ‘What do you old folks do now
That you’re retired? Well. I’m fortunate to have a
Chemical engineering background, and one of the
Things I enjoy most is turning beer, wine, Scotch
      And margaritas into urine.”

      • Thamera

        LOL :D

  • jopa

Charles: You got it right. We did basically the same thing and paid ourselves first and when we bought our house the banker told us we could afford to pay several hundred thousand more than what we bought but we were never on an an ego trip. Now the kids are all grown and we plan on getting an even smaller one story ranch on some acreage we bought. When I found out I wouldn’t be going back to work I moved all my stock from anything that had a risk involved and just missed the crashes.Have all the toys and security just missing out on the health part a little. That could be anyone’s destiny in an instant.I was six foot three and two hundred and thirty pounds, hard as a rock and now I think my grand daughter could kick my butt.Have to look at the bright side though and life is good.

When they say they want to cut spending maybe they ought to look at where they spend it!
One may be forgiven to believe that … the Fed only bailed out foreign Central Banks, which in turn took the money and funded their own banks. It turns out that is only half the story: we now know the Fed also acted in a secondary bail out capacity, providing over $350 billion in short term funding exclusively to 35 foreign banks, of which the biggest beneficiaries were UBS, Dexia and BNP. Since the funding provided was in the form of ultra-short maturity commercial paper it was essentially equivalent to cash funding. In other words, between October 27, 2008 and August 6, 2009, the Fed spent $350 billion in taxpayer funds to save 35 foreign banks….

  • Dan az

Both sides are talking about how we should deal with a $14 trillion debt burden and $1.5 trillion deficit this year. Consider these stats:

    * In addition to our “$14 trillion debt”, we have $106 trillion in unfunded liabilities for Medicare and Social Security.
    * We have about $6 trillion in guaranteed mortgages by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, with no assets to back them up.
    * We have over a trillion more in unfunded liabilities for government and military pensions, and another trillion+ deficit projected for this year.
    * Total federal debt and unfunded liabilities equals almost exactly $1 MILLION for every worker in the U.S. If each worker paid his/her share of interest on our total debt, at 4%, it would cost you $40,000 a year.
    * President Obama’s solution is to “tax the rich.” But the fact is that if government took 100% of the TOTAL EARNINGS of every taxpayer in America who earned $100,000 or more last year, (half of these are small businesses), it would not get enough income to pay this years’ deficit. And this is the group that already pays 90% of all income taxes.

Surprise, Surprise, the critics are trying to talk it down. But the users give it a A- so far.
        http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1810168323/info

Here is what one critic said: “Atlas Shrugged: Part 1″ is nearly as stilted, didactic and simplistic as Rand’s free-market fable.”

A “free-market fable”? Obviously the guy is interjecting his Liberal bias into his critique. Here is a book that has sold over 7 million copies, and that idiot Liberal critic is trying to trash it. They are really running scared aren’t they?

        • DaveH

It’s so obviously ignorant to trash free markets, especially these days where anybody can look up reviews on the Internet for almost anything their heart desires. How can anybody in their right mind think that the consumer shouldn’t decide voluntarily whose products to purchase?
We are in the midst of a full-blown propaganda fest by those leaders who are sensing the possible end of their reign. I hope we can make their fears well-founded.

DaveH, everytime Ayn Rand’s name is mentioned around here the liberals start going beserk. I would purposly post Ayn Rand quotes on here for two reasons.

          2. Just to watch libs like denisso and eyes go into a foaming tizzy.

She’s for Freedom of the human animal also, Claire.

          • DaveH

And Claire, I’d like to clarify one thing. Liberals don’t like animals any more than Conservatives do. What they like is Power and Control, and if it takes using the animals to achieve that, they will use the animals. If it takes using the environment to achieve that, they will use the environment. And if it takes using children to achieve that, they will use the children.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    Joe,,,,,,,,,,,,,Finally someone who gets it….

    • DaveH

I don’t know about the “majority of degree holders”, Mick, but I do agree with much of your comment. The people I knew who studied the hardest and who got the best grades were generally the people who had to work to put themselves through college. There is no sense for the taxpayer to be charged for the education of others. It is mostly a waste of money. Many of the required college classes are fluff that people should learn on their own time, not on the taxpayer dollar. I think that trade schools, where the student is immersed in the field of his/her choice, are much more cost effective.
      More on that:

In addition, I would add that not everyone is slated for college and personally I have told my children that I would like to see them out in the “real world” before they even go to college. I see no rush in sending an 18 or 19 year old kid to college unless it is something that they really want to do.

      • DaveH

That’s a great idea. And, if and when they decide to go to college or a trade school, it will be much more meaningful for them.

This I just heard of to-day. As scarce as money is and the many
homeless people and families we have,Obama passed a bill HB1388 by executive order, “by passing congress”, to allow the immigration of a couple hundred thousand Palestinians to the USA ,many of them with ties to HAMAS, a Terror group, reconized by our goverment as such. They were given free housing, food, transportation,
    including the whole
enchilada at a cost of 20.3 million dollars to the tax payers, while
we have many of our own citizens living on the streets. This is what I mean, Obama and his thugs get a pass by the media ,no matter what
they do. Where the Hell is our media? People should be up in arms
and write their Congressman raising Hell why something like this is happing. Don`t their staffs know anything? I think all congressmen staffs should have to take classes in knowing our enemy, domestic and foreign. Some of the staff members I have talked to,don`t seem to have a clue about anybody or anything pretaining to whats going down with
the Obama White House. They don`t know anything about Obamas friends
or advisors or even who his czars are. no wonder this country is going to hell in a heart beat. Every one of our Congressmen, should have at least one of you on this blog or from the many other conservitve blogs on their staffs to teach the other staff members.
It seems to me,Obama is using his executive powers to get around
Congress quite a bit of late.He is probley hurting the very people
that voted for him and that think he can do no wrong. To check this out

Charles, not trying to burst you bubble but you need to verify these types of emails when you recieve them, and I’m sure you recieved this info in an email. You know I’m no fan of Obama but it is important to be factual with these things.

Can you say “URBAN LEGEND”? The message promotes the false impression that H.R. 1388 (referred to above as “H.B. 1388″), a bill passed by Congress and signed into law by President Obama in 2009, allocated taxpayer funds to resettle Hamas refugees in the United States. It did not.

In January 2009 President Obama signed a completely unrelated memorandum to the U.S. State Dept. (titled “Presidential Determination No. 2009-15″ — not an executive order, strictly speaking, but comparable to one) authorizing $20.3 million in humanitarian aid to Palestinian refugees in Gaza.

The memorandum did not order, request, or even propose the resettlement of Palestinian refugees in the United States. In point of fact, it used precisely the same language as humanitarian aid memos signed during the previous administration by President George W. Bush.

H.R. 1388 actually expands AmeriCorps and other federal public service programs, more than tripling the total number of positions to 250,000.

Whether that particular incident is true or not, we need to pass a Constitutional Amendment to stop this travesty of Presidential Executive Orders. I think it already is Unconstitutional, but it wouldn’t hurt to reinforce that.

      • Jana

        DaveH,
I listened to the Hillsdale College Seminar yesterday, and learned that the Czar idea was put into law during the last 40 days of the Carter Presidency. This is why Reagan had one. Also, this is another thing that neeeds to be stopped. We are not Russia, and the ideology behind Czars is communistic in design. The main one who has abused this is Obama with over 40 Czars under his belt. Bush had several-8 I think, but not all at one time. He had if memory serves me right 4, for 2 years then 4 more for another 2 yrs.

DavidH, >> YOU are right about the TRADE SCHOOLS >>>
We need more trade schools, as they have been taken out of our high schools because of cost. There are to many kids in college,
that are there on the tax payers dime, that will never complete their degree and the ones that do, it will be in something, they will never be able to use. This is costing the Tax Payers money for a broken down
education system that dosen`t do any thing to educate these people for the future. It`s like the many Athlete`s, that are lucky to spell or write their own names It makes me mad when they call these people student athlete`s. They are no more than that, than Iam. They are nothing more than a Semi Pro team waiting for a chance to move up to the Pros.Look at the money that would be saved, if they were student
    athlete`s.

  • chuckb

we need to overhaul the whole system, education and medical are the most abused. trade schools are by far the best choice. the problem is the teachers union they want no part of that. learning a trade is beneficial not only to the person, it gives them more security and confidence and opportunity for employment.
our nation is in the first stage of becoming a third world country and i think the black messiah and george soros have this in mind. we can see our country deteriorate more each day. the illegal immigration is the first clue and barry refusing the states their right to secure their borders and make any attempt to stop the immigration is the obvious.
you can’t help but notice barry is on the tv every day of the week
reading the teleprompter making speech’s, indoctrinating the public.
goebbels would be proud of him.
how he can retain any favorable rating is a mystery to me and chip you are just now pointing out abc and their reporting, abc is the biggest propaganda machine in the country and they are behind barry 100%. we need to fear what they are doing to this country and i have no further confidence in the republican party, we need some big changes and kick karl rove and company out the back door.

Looks like a propaganda site to me. For some reality:
      http://www.cato.org/pubs/pas/pa-280.html

      • DaveH

An eye-opener, for those who don’t realize that we’ve been propagandized since youth, is the book “Lincoln Unmasked” by Thomas DiLorenzo. You might ask why would the schools want to mislead us about the Presidency of Lincoln? Well, as usual, it is to gain public acceptance of Constitution-trampling Big Government, which Lincoln was very much in the forefront of.
The book undisputedly shows Lincoln for what he really was, a quintessential Politician who would do whatever he could get away with to grow the Federal Government bigger and more powerful.

        • Denniso

And of course, you believe anything you read if it fits into your neat little mind set,or is on the internet.

    • DaveH

Surely, Coal Miner, you are aware that the Liberals want to do away with the coal industry? Is that what you want for your friends and relatives?

      • Denniso

Liberals want to halt climate change. Coal is the worst energy source at producing greenhouse gases. We don’t have to eradicate the use of coal,we have to clean up the emissions from the stacks, and the coal industry fights that because it costs money. We will be using coal for a while yet and if we clean it up that’s OK. I don’t imagine there are many coal miners that would balk at taking an above ground job if it paid good money and gave then security as well.

    jopa,
You sound like a really good person. I can`t understand how
you can follow a person like Obama. You sound like you made the right moves and kept your family out of debt, such as I have.No way, you could have the life you have if you would have ran your house the
way Obama runs this country. You would have been out on the street a long time ago.You know, I was a Democrat for many years and my Mother
was a Democrat preceint judge in Ohio for years. I`m a Independent now, however, I can`t ever vote for a Progressive, who is trying to destroy our way of life. There is no longer a Democrat party as we once knew. Why in Gods name would you want to transform the greatest
country ever known to something like they have in Europe. I don`t believe in spreading the wealth, I believe in working for wealth.
There are always going to be poor and rich. I hope your health
improves and I hope for our kids and grandkids I`m wrong about Obama.
Think it out old friend and come over to the bright side.

    • Denniso

You are wrong about Obama…the increased debt and spending for his 2 yrs in office are the result of the crash of ’08. Bush began the bail outs and Obama continued them and also did what most economists agreed we needed to in order to avoid the largest depression ever,by enacting the stimulus bill to revive the economy. The bailouts are almost all paid back…the stimulus is putting people to work. The deficit has also grown largely because tax revenues are way down because of the slower economy.
Obama is doing all he can to get the economy going again and put people to work. We’re doing very little that goes on in Eurpoean countries…the healthcare plan is a boon to the insurance companies and nothing like Europe. Single payer would have more resembled them, but we didn’t get that did we?

When will the Democrats take responsiblty for their actions, if ever ?

        • Denniso

Have you or the rightwingers in general ever taken responsibility for electing Cheny/Bush who lead us into two of the longest and most expensive wars ever that still go on because we are having a difficult time getting out w/ any success to leave behind? Mostly because of Bush’s incompetence and terrible judgement…the economy crashed under Bush…have you taken any responsibility for your goofball president presiding over that? Bush doubled the debt in his terms, have you taken the responsibility for that as well?

No,you people scream about Obama who took over the worst set of problems ever for an incoming president, because you know that your vote and support of Cheny/Bush was the stupidest action you’ve ever taken and you won’t face up to it…you have never given Obama a chance from the very beginning, and it’s clear to all who can think that you wish to distract others and yourselves from what you and the rightingers did in electing two of the worst ever as prez and vice prez.

The hypocrisy from you and your side is pathetic and obvious to the most clueless.

  • jopa

Jana: I noticed you seem to be having trouble with the term “czar”‘The term actually became popular when FDR was president and all it is is an individual appointed to a post. The term in more recent times became popular with the Bush administration having made 33 czars and Obama with 37.Glenn Beck is the one that tried to make it sound like some type of commie conspiracy theory when there were so many czars in the Obama administration. He had an audience with a very limited degree of intelligence and as PT Barnum said ” there’s a sucker born every day”.

    • Denniso

You’re right, and the Repubs had no problem w/ the Bush czars did they…Beck is very much like a religious revival preacher spouting exactly nothing of any worth, yet his sheep seem to love him w/ the same ardor that the flock loves it’s preacher. Beck was more moderate on CNN at the beginning of his career, then found he could rant and rave and make even more money playing to the hotheads who tend not to think very clearly or rationally. Best wishes jopa…

    • Jana

      jopa,
You are right. I am having trouble with that term. I have been looking up all of the czars that Bush had since I wrote what I did. I found that indeed Bush had a lot more than 6, and his were in most instances 1 yr. terms for the same position, so of course it would appear that he had so many.
Actually I don’t care WHO has them, Democrat or Republican, I don’t like that terminology. Also, it does not change the fact that under the last 40 days of Carter it was signed into law about these Czars.
I listen to Glenn Beck very occasionally which means not often. I know he has some good information, but he is also very doom and gloom and therefore he is not invited into my home via the air waves very often, so I never even heard him talk about this.
Not only the title, but the very act that we have those in position over us that have not been elected, (but they sure do get paid big money). A Czar was an absolute monarch and maybe at first the President’s starting with FDR thought it was a good idea, but like anything good it can be abused, and this is what I am seeing, an abuse.

      • Jana

Whoops, I didn’t finish my thought on *****Not only the title, but the very act that we have those in position over us that have not been elected, (but they sure do get paid big money). *******
The very action of them having such great authority without answering to even Congress, is just an invitation for great wrong doing.

Thank you jopa for talking to me about this.

        • Denniso

Beck has no information, all he has are opinions and lies and hyperbole. He also soon won’t even have a job…

          • E.A.U.M.

Barack Obama’s budget proposal is a dangerous stall tactic which the main stream media is all to willing to help perportrate on the American people.

Dodn’t show your own foolishness…Beck is nothing more than a modern
day medicene show hack piling up millions at your expense.

He makes up almost everything he says,so it’s pretty easy to list 3 things.

Obama hates white people…(he is half white)
Obama is trying to destroy the country…(he’s actually trying like hell to revive it)
            Obama is a marxist
Obama hasn’t proven his birth place

That’s 4 lies, and if I cared what you think or thought there was any point to responding to your question w/ more of Beck’s lies I could go on and on…just like the lies of Limbaugh.

6)ScienceDaily (Mar. 9, 2011) — Scientists have developed a programmable “molecular robot” — a sub-microscopic molecular machine made of synthetic DNA that moves between track locations separated by 6nm. The robot, a short strand of DNA, follows instructions programmed into a set of fuel molecules determining its destination, for example, to turn left or right at a junction in the track. The report, which represents a step toward futuristic nanomachines and nanofactories, appears in ACS’s Nano Letters.

I think the old study strategy Cause and Effect would be more beneficial then the Blame Game. Problems can be solved and resolved if the causes are known, but they will rebound and reoccur if the only strategy employed is the Blame Game. Scripture says “When I was a child I acted like a child, but when I grew up, I got rid of my childish things.” I think it is time our government officials who we elected to represent us showed us their metal.

  • http://None J.B. Williams

When we let the ACLU throw God out of our government run institutions, like government, court houses, and schools, we arbitrarily let them throw out accountability and hope too. Americans have always leaned toward the tough guy, the radical, the ones who had the courage to go where no man has gone before, but there is a danger in that. The danger as we are finding out is the lack of restraints and accountability to the structure, i.e. lawsand values. Our complaciency is destroying us. We believe that if a little is good a lot is better. But that is the wrong mindset. People who believe in, and worship God love Him and owe accountability to Him. People who don’t, aren’t accountable to anyone but themselves. This is called Humanism or Existentialism, or Liberalism. If God fearing/believing people don’t draw a line in the sand now and throw the anti-Christ people out of our government and media, we will lose the rest of our Constitutional rights and our freedom. It is up to us. We have one last chance, in 2012. This is not a joke and it is not a complaint, it is a fact of life. If we vote him back in we might as well bend over and kiss our AQQ goodbye.

  • http://charden@neo.rr.com Charles

    Joe,
Your wasting your time with Denniso. He has never been able to prove
or back up anything he says.He shoots from the hip and anything his left-wing buddies tell him, this is what he believes. The S&P just
down graded our credit rating and I`ll bet you 10 to 1, he will say it`s Bush`s fault and god obama had nothing to do with it. You know, I
don`t even start obama`s name with a capital letter any more. Obama
is no doubt the worst president this country has ever seen. I can`t
understand how Denniso can`t see what obama stands for.

    • Denniso

It’s not surprising that you can’t understand, because there’s apparently much you don’t understand. I tell my young daughter not to use the word ‘stupid’,better to say dumb.

  • http://charden@neo.rr.com Charles

    Denniso,
I guess all those tapes Beck shows us are lies.
Do you act studid just to get people going or are you really stupid.

    • Denniso

I wonder if you’ve ever heard that tapes and video can be edited? Or maybe you’ve heard that words can be taken out of context and made to appear different than the real meaning at the time?

Beck is a bad joke and a virtual nut case, who fortunately won’t be around much longer since he’s being canned from Fox.

  • http://charden@neo.rr.com Charles

    Denniso,
Be serious, you lberals just don`t want to believe a damn thing. If what you say is true, Beck would be in court defending himself and wouldn`t have time to get the truth out about you lug heads. I suppose
the tapes on Acorn were all lies and Planed Parenthood. The only liars
are Obama and his Marxist Buddies and you nit witts who believe them.
I did what Beck Has said,
Don`t believe him, do your homework, what will take some of your time to do. Find out for your self, check and recheck to make sure it`s true. Course you would rather believe the all holy
one and his tel-a-prompter than to find out the real truth. You have
never heard Obama tell you, don`t believe him, do your home work and
find out if he is lying or not. You don`t seem to ever come with
any facts or backup in what you say or believe. Beck has more brains
in his little fingure, than you have in that pea brain of yours.
You my friend and all the other believers in Obams are very dangerous
people to the Republic that our brave military have fought and died
for. I would be ashamed to call myself an American. If this problem
wasn`t as serious as it is,I wouldn`t waste my time with you. You and all the big spenders that want to spend us into bankruptsy better
pay attention to what the S&P had to say. Course you probley
will call them liars and part of Becks army to destroy the Progressives. I hope if you live and Obama wins,You will probley get
a gun and shoot yourself because you won`t be able to live with your self.I saw how your people acted in their protest marches over
the weekend. Thank God the T Party don`t behave like that. So keep believing in the Marxist way of life. It`s on it`s way with an obama win.

    • Denniso

You hope that I will get a gun and kill myself? That’s a nice thought,if I thought you could think.

    • libertytrain

Charles, I am not a fan of Denniso, as he will happily tell you – and I’ve been on here as long as Denniso — but your remarks that he referred to make all of us look ‘not so good.’

  • http://charden@neo.rr.com Charles

    Denniso,
Once again, you can`t read with meaning. I did not say, I hoped you
would get a gun and shoot yourself. I said you probley would get a gun and shoot youself. Two different meanings, please get your act together. I`m sorry, you felt, I wanted you to shoot yourself, far from it. It`s like everything else, you and my good friend jopa, have a hard time getting your facts straight.Even the both of you don`t seem to get it ,I still like both of you and please don`t shoot
yourself, when you no longer have a country and you see the biggest
mistake you ever made in your life by backing Obama and is radical
    agenda.

    • libertytrain

Actually the way you wrote it: “I hope if you live and Obama wins,You will probley get…” Could easily sound like you hope he goes and shoots himself. Words are the source of much misunderstanding, you need to use them carefully and look at what you are saying and how many different ways it could be interpreted — :)

  • http://charden@neo.rr.com Charles

    Libertytrain,
Sorry, you are right, no one should use words that promote violence
That is one of the good points the T- Party has going for them, not like what we heard over the weekend from the left.

    • Denniso

You tried to wiggle out of your comment,Liberty didn’t let you. I don’t actually care what people say to me,but I do care about the general use of violent language in our political debates because it can affect people who are already unhinged, and lead to real violence.

I’m not worried about my safety regarding anyone here, but like Liberty said,it makes you guys look bad,and doesn’t help your argument. I give Liberty credit for taking you to task.

      • Denniso

In your mind,Charles,Obama is wrecking the country and it will cease to exist as we know it soon? Have you noticed that the stock market has recovered all it’s losses from 2 yrs ago when the conomy crashed under Bush?
Have you noticed that unemployment is slowly coming down? Have you read that housing starts are up?

The huge debt is the result of the biggest collapse we’ve had in 80 yrs, tax revenues dropped and money was used to keep us from falling into a total global depression that would have devastated our economy.

If the oil speculators weren’t using the middle east unrest to push up prices we would see the economy doing even better.

  • http://charden@neo.rr.com Charles

    Denniso,
You better take notice unemployment is more like 18%.Almost three trillion was added to the deficit the past two years. Our deficit is over 14 trillion dollars. The Obama White House wants to keep on spending. It makes no difference who you want to blame the fact is
we are headed for a major collapse of our system. I know you don`t
beleive in what the S&P had to say. The stock market can be deceiving,
you ask how much the small investor is making in his 401k plan and the small investor is making in his private life. Something is going on in the stock
market and you and I really don`t need to know. I`m worth over a million dollars from the 1990 tech boom. I got out before the crash,
that started in the last two years of the Clinton Adminastration.
Don`t tell me how the housing starts are up. I guess going from zero house to one is really improving. I like the fact of Gas at the pumps, is at 3.89 to 4.15 and the price of food and health care is rising at
an alarming rate. I`m sick and tired of you people blaming Bush
for all the trouble we are having. You remember Chris Dood and Barney Frank were the over see`rs of Fannie and Freddie and they where the ones that told us and congress that everything was great. Bush wanted a bill passed to look into the practices of Fannie and Freddie and it was voted down by the Democrat congress. I didn`t like Bush and thought he
spent to much money. I know this you can`t buy your way out of debt by creating more debt. This is no longer Bushes economy, his ship sailed a long time ago. If you want a Socialists goverment or worse,
then by all means stick with Obama. Nothing I say or any one else says
is going to change your mind. The media and Obama have done a super
job of programing the way you think. I will tell you one thing, I and my children have put at least 20% of our net worth into gold and I mean real gold, the American Gold Eagle. My children prospered during
this ression, not by creating more debt, but by paying down old debt.
My life is pretty much set, whats left of it. I hope your`s is to and your children have had the same good fortune that mine has. May God
bless you and I will pray for you and this great country of ours.

    • Denniso

Unemployment is always measured the same way,and it’s never an accurate measure of people out of work, but it serves as a baseline for how the economy is doing whether it’s exact or not.

The economy crashed under Bush, right? He was the president and therefore in control of the Fed chairman and the SEC…he politicized the SEC and had them back off on regulations, allowing the financial industry to regulate itself…he could have urged Greenspan to rein in the lending and slow the housing boom…but he did nothing, but let the banks and financial powerbrokers do what they pleased. He was president…the buck is supposed to stop w/ the president, right?

  • http://charden@neo.rr.com Charles

    Denniso,
I didn`t try to wiggle out of anything. What Liberty did say, I guess what I said, it could be taken in more than one way, with which you did. I agree with
Liberty that you need to be careful with what you say and how you say it. I said I was sorry I used the words and said it the way I did.
What Liberty said, it makes us look like the far left and makes us no better than them. We will take back this country with out us being
violent and do it in 2012. Iam proud of how the T- Party has acted
and I wish I could say the same thing for the left.

    DENNISO,
You are right the buck stops at the President, then tell me why, your
giving Obama a free ride. In case you haven`t caught up to date,
Bush is no longer President. I have said all along Bush spent
to much money and a good portion of that was for the Iraqie war. That
being said, everytime Bush tried to do something about Fannie and Freddie, he was stoped cold by the Democrat congress. You better see what your God obama has added to the Deficit in the past 2 years. As far as Bush, his ship sailed a long time ago. As far as Beck if, you can`t tell the difference between the facts and a opinion,a lie and the truth I give up. I will never bring it up to you again because
your head is so far down in the sand, there is no reasoning with you.
