Our Know-Nothing President

barack obama

Is it really possible that the President of the United States knows as little about what his Administration is doing as his defenders claim? That no one tells him anything about what’s going on until he reads it in the papers?

Consider all of the scandals that have taken place since Barack Obama moved into the White House: Operation Fast and Furious; the murder of our ambassador and three other Americans in Benghazi, Libya; the Internal Revenue Service harassment of Tea Party and other patriotic groups; National Security Agency spying on foreign leaders, as well as millions of Americans; the incredibly botched implementation of Obamacare… The list goes on and on.

We’re supposed to believe that Obama remained in blissful ignorance about all of them until the media reports started. When that happened, he was just as surprised and upset as the rest of us.

The latest “I didn’t know anything about it” scandal is the revelation that the NSA has been monitoring the private conversations of some 35 world leaders. Apparently, the bugging operation has been going on for years. Yet we’re supposed to believe that no one told the President about it until a couple of months ago.

Sure, that sounds credible, doesn’t it? Turns out, we’re tapping the cellphone of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, among others; yet no one in the chain of command thinks that maybe, just maybe, Obama should be told about it.

Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, followed the party line when she said: “It is my understanding that President Obama was not aware Chancellor Merkel’s communications were being collected since 2002. That is a big problem.”

It certainly is. Of all the sorry excuses that have been offered for this Presidential ignorance, my favorite is the one from anonymous officials who said that “the NSA has so many eavesdropping operations under way that it wouldn’t have been practical to brief him on all of them.”

If you were in charge, how would you like to have that pathetic excuse laid in front of you? Do you think that maybe some heads would roll? That’s what would happen in the real world — but not in this Administration, where the watchword is to protect the President at all costs. And always, but always, blame somebody else when anything goes wrong.

The latest example of this came on Wednesday, when Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, the woman in charge of implementing Obamacare, trudged up Capitol Hill to explain why things have gone so disastrously wrong in the launch of the President’s pet program — and to promise that they will get better very soon.

In her testimony before the House Energy and Commerce Committee, Sebelius said that she was “as frustrated and angry as anyone” about the problems that have occurred since the launch of Obamacare on Oct. 1.

At one point, she even denied that the Healthcare.gov website had actually crashed, saying it just runs a lot slower than it should. Hah! In a piece of cosmic irony, the website crashed again, just as she was delivering this whopper. When it did, CNN broadcast a split screen, showing Sebelius on the right half and the crash error message from the website (“The system is down at the moment”) on the left-hand side of the screen.

Potential enrollees aren’t the only ones who can’t get the information they need from the Obamacare website. Turns out that neither can the HHS Secretary. When asked how many people had actually managed to navigate through the website to the end and actually purchase one of the government-mandated health plans, Sibelius said that the numbers weren’t available yet. Check back next month.

Is it that the total number of enrollments can’t be tabulated or that they won’t be released, since they are so embarrassingly low?

Still, Sebelius promised her skeptical inquisitors that everything would be hunky-dory by the end of November, when the website will finally be working properly. In the meantime, she proclaimed, “Hold me accountable for the debacle. I’m responsible.”

Does that mean she’ll do the honorable thing and tender her resignation to the President? Not on your life. Or at least, not yet. If the promised re-launch of the website comes on Dec. 1, as seems likely, I don’t think the White House will bear with her much longer. By sometime in January, I suspect you can color Sebelius gone.

Meanwhile, CNN reports that the Administration is putting pressure on insurance companies not to say anything critical of Obamacare. “What’s going on,” reporter Andrew Griffin told Anderson Cooper, “is [a] behind-the-scenes attempt by the White House to at least keep insurers from publicly criticizing what is happening under this Affordable Care Act rollout. Basically, if you speak out, if you are quoted, you’re going to get a call from the White House, pressure to be quiet.”

Bob Laszewski, a consultant for several insurance companies, says he’s getting calls from executives he knows, asking him to speak out on their behalf. He told CNN: “The White House is exerting massive pressure on the industry, including the trade associations, to keep quiet.”

Now it turns out that the insurance companies — and the Obama Administration — have known for years that millions of Americans would lose their health insurance once Obamacare went into effect, despite all of the claims to the contrary.

Regulations written by the Department of Health and Human Services in July 2010 estimated that “40 to 67 percent” of policyholders would not be able to keep their health insurance once the Affordable Care Act went into effect. Now there are estimates that the actual figure may be as high as 80 percent. So somewhere between 8 million and 14 million Americans will lose the health insurance they presently have.

Of course, Obama promised the American people exactly the opposite. Back in June 2009 he said, “[W]e will keep this promise to the American people: If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period. If you like your healthcare plan, you will be able to keep your healthcare plan. Period.”

And he’s repeated that promise countless times since then. In fact, as of yesterday, the official White House website still claimed, “If you like your plan, you can keep it and you don’t have to change a thing due to the healthcare law.”

Of course, we now know that this isn’t true. Millions of people are learning that they won’t be able to keep their present policy, no matter how much they might like it. But the Obama Administration continues to spread this falsehood.

This helps explain why Obama’s popularity is plummeting faster than a safe falling from a window. The latest Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll says that the President’s job-approval rating has fallen to an all-time low. According to the poll, a majority of Americans — 51 percent — now disapprove of the job he is doing. Only 42 percent say they still approve of his performance. That’s down from 53 percent at the end of last year.

In the same poll, just 29 percent said that their representative deserved to be re-elected to Congress. More than twice as many, some 63 percent, said it was time to give a new person a chance.

The disdain was bipartisan, by the way, with two Republican leaders — House Speaker John Boehner and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell — joining Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in getting their highest negative ratings ever.

Oh, and get this: Half of those polled don’t believe that an accord will be reached by the Jan. 15 deadline on a plan to fund the government. They say another Federal shutdown is likely.

Will all of this disdain and distrust result in votes to actually reduce the size, power and cost of our central government? It would be wonderful if that were the case. But I wouldn’t count on it.

Until next time, keep some powder dry.

Dear People, do you know what is going on in YOUR country?

Nine senior commanding generals have been fired by the Obama administration THIS year, leading to speculation by active and retired members of the military that a purge of its commanders is underway.

Retired generals and current senior commanders that have spoken with TheBlaze say the administration is not only purging the military of commanders they don’t agree with, but is striking fear in the hearts of those still serving.

“I think they’re using the opportunity of the shrinkage of the military to get rid of people that don’t agree with them or not tow the party line. Remember, as (former White House chief of staff) Rahm Emanuel said, never waste a crisis,” a senior retired general told TheBlaze on the condition of anonymity because he still provide services to the government and fears possible retribution.

“Even as a retired general, it’s still possible for the administration to MAKE LIFE MISERABLE for us. If we’re working with the government or have contracts, they can just rip that out from under us,” he said.

P.S. The Kenyan Fraud is acting by Stalin’s playbook.
Stalin purged the Red Army leadership, Government leaders, “kulaks”, professionals and intelligentsia – everyone in opposition.

According to the declassified Soviet archives, during 1937 and 1938, the NKVD detained 1,548,366 victims, of whom 681,692 were shot – an average of 1,000 executions a day. But the real number of the executed victims were much higher.

The Evil regime is desperate to disarm populous. Wait for the false flags.

    So help us God.

The Kenyan Fraud is using a litmus test for “determining who will stay and who must go” among top-ranked military leaders. That test is whether they will fire on US citizens or not. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzT6X3_Bg9o

When I read some 95% of the military do NOT like their Commander in (outhouse),….We should go and exercise our second amendment in Washington DC. Since the GOP are acting like castrated RINO’s It’s time for new leadership. but we know the elephant is secretly playing games, Just like their counterparts do. So it would be wise to never vote for either party! TEA/Libertarian/Constitution Party must merge into one party in order to defeat the two moronic parties.

        • nc

Motov, as a Democrat, I BEG YOU to organize a TEA/Libertarian/ Constitution Party! PLEASE!!!!!
ANY THING THAT WILL HELP KEEP RINOS LIKE bush, cheney, rumsfelt and howdydoody rice out of power! THEY WERE A TOTAL WASTE along with the advice of the Heritage Foundation about how great the bush “rich man” tax cuts would be for the US economy! Remember???
We need your help to never again have to endure the policies of 2001-2008!

          • Don 2

And what exactly is a Democrat?

          • TheOriginalDaveH

More screaming nonsense from the old dog, NutCase.
Tax cuts are meaningless without commensurate Government spending cuts.
Every dollar of wealth that Government consumes is a dollar less that could have been used to increase productivity and jobs:

  • Harold Olsen

He’s a liar if he says he is never told anything about what is going on in his regime. I don’t believe anything happens without his knowledge. By denying everything, he looks like an even bigger moron than he is. Apparently, he doesn’t care, which shows his lack of self-respect. If he doesn’t respect himself then how can he expect others to respect him. I know, it’s the usual black, “I demand respect!” thing. Well, I don’t respect him. He epitomizes everything I hate about the black race. There have been blacks that I have know throughout my 64 years that I have had a great deal of respect for. But, as a race, I do not respect black people, and, it is impossible for me to like anyone whom I have no respect for. Barack Hussein Obama is nothing but a lying, racist, America-hating, Nazi scumbag.

  • Motov

Yeah,…right,….like he didn’t know anything about people who were lied to about keeping their doctors, insurance, privacy, guns,….etc,..etc,

His next term should be in Guantánamo Bay for the rest of his life.

How many of those 42% have Obama phones and government hand outs? Maybe they are too stupid to read? Maybe they watch American Idol all day? Who knows, but sure as hell they haven’t a bloody clue!

    • Motov

I live on SSD, and quite frankly, see Obozo as the worst president ever!
Obozo had threatened to not pay those on SS before he would cease on welfare.

      • nc

Motov, which of the two major parties has campaigned to kill your SS programs or severely restrict your SSD in the past?? The Democrats?? Really?? Could it have been the Conservative Republicans?? No?? Remember that intelligent adult independents read your answers here! Don’t be stupid just to be popular here!
Did you ever refer to the President as Obozo or any other name other than his own before before the 2008 elections?? This a survey to determine if you ever approved of him??

        • Don 2

There was never any reason to approve of Obama for those who knew who he was before the 2008 election. He said outright that he was going to fundamentally change America. What more does an intelligent person need to know?

        • Motov

I disliked both parties for years. It seems to me they are getting bold with their crimes, I’m forced to to live on SSD because of Parkinson’s Disease.

The first shrub welcomed us to the NWO, which wasn’t cool, Then came the twin Clintons, slick Willie and his witch Hitlary, who tried to cram her version of Obozocare down our throats,.. The country said no!,..Slick Willie did manage to get NAFTA passed,.. And he attempted to end “welfare as we know it” (Which Obozo used an executive order to restore welfare to its corrupted ways)
Then shrub #2 came along,… 9-11 happened, and true to never allow a tragedy go to waste, passed the unpatriot act and we went to war in Iraq (Even though they had nothing to do with 9-11)
Turns out 9-11 was an inside job,.. and no 757 ever hit the pentagon.
Obozo only picked up where the shrub left off, following their masters orders.

Sorry to hear about your illness, Motov.

          • Motov

Diagnosed January 16, 2003, I decided to do the only job I’m qualified to do. I became a “Lab Rat” (LOL)
So I don’t mind talking about it. I made a decision to be active. I did go to Bethesda, Maryland, where the NIH (National Institutes of Health) is located. It is the second largest federal building, only the Pentagon is larger. I’ve done countless of hours of getting MRI’s whilst “gambling”, and many other tests while they watched what my brain was doing. I tried new medications, sent daily “reports”
Makes me feel useful again. Now I ride a bike daily to “use it or lose it”.
I have my moments but I will not let this disease get me down.

          • TheOriginalDaveH

Good for you, Motov. I’m going to assume that you’ve also radically altered your diet to eat only non-processed food.

But to answer your SSD & SS question, Obozo “froze” our cost of living raises for 2 years! AND during that time Congress gave themselves a nice raise.

I maintain both parties are on the opposite side of the same coin. They “fight” in public to look good, or better yet to distract us from watching what is really going on.

This is what I believe is happening to us

Motov says “They won’t pay unless your account(s) are under 2 grand.”

That’s not true…maybe for SSDI, which is SS Disability benefit…not your actual Social Security benefit. Your SS benefiets are yours and are(supposed)paid on schedule no matter how much you have in your accounts.

Of the 42 percent that say they still approve of Obama’s performance have got to be Government workers working to protect Obama and others on the take. Then there are some very stupid people in the bunch also.

I am appalled at just how this president is getting away with murder, literally. He has lied so many times that I do not believe a thing he says. How is it that he is not now being impeached? Certainly he has committed “High Crimes and Misdemeaners” !! Allowing our Ambassador to be murdered, puts his blood on the president’s hands. The fact that he denies knowing anything about the spying on foreign government offficials, tells me he is either lying or has told his staff not to tell him anything that could indicate him–that to me is treason, he is supposed to know everything! That is a subjugation of the Exective Branch. His lack of knowledge about his LEGACY legislation, his most pet project–his only one–is the height of incompetence and lying! No one, I mean NO ONE allows a project to be presented to a boss, a Board, a client or a TV audience without checking and checking and rechecking to make sure it is as perfect as it can be. He had to know the website for ObamaCare rollout was flawed, and indeed would fail. His presidency does not pass the smell test, either!

    • gelliott

      Annie,

I think he did say, once upon a time, that he wanted to fundamentally transform this country (into something else). Looking back, I believe that was a “true,” if unsavory statement.

      • nc

Gelliott, when Obama talked of fundamentally transforming the country he was talking of the 8 years of rotten results from the bush (heritage foundation) policy! 69 million Americans agreed with him! Bad wars, millions losing their jobs and thousands if not millions losing their homes and health care and insurance costs soaring was “our country” at that time and in serious need of being transformed!!
“Unsavory” would best describe what Obama inherited than what he said! Those not in denial admit this and judge Obama accordingly!

        • gelliott

          nc,

Regardless whether you and I agree on what Obama meant when he promised to “transform” America, he apparently was telling the truth in that case.

I agree that Obama inherited a sorry economy and two wars (Iraq was winding down by that time), even though he helped create both situations when he was in Congress. Nevertheless, my biggest complaint with Obama has been that he has done everything exactly opposite of what he should have done, in my opinion, to help the economy improve. Also, even though Bin Laden was killed on his watch, I can’t give him high marks on managing the war in Afghanistan or ending the war in Iraq. He has put more regular ground troops in Afghanistan when it was clearly a “special operations” war, and he left no troops behind in Iraq to support that fragile government and help maintain some sense of stability with Iran. In short, Obama has been a near total failure as President, in my opinion, but given his severe lack of experience before he got the job, I don’t know why anyone would be shocked now. I will say that he seems to have learned his lessons pretty well while studying Alinsky and socialist policy and techniques.

          • Motov

I think He even lied about getting Osama Bin Laden,
who if you recall was very ill, back in 2001.

          • gelliott

            Motov,

You might be right about that. They did dispose of the body awfully quick. On the other hand, I would imagine that someone in the military would speak out at some point if the whole operation had been a sham. So, for now, I’m going to err on the side of believing they did kill Bin Laden, and Obama allowed it to happen, even though he might not have been all that enthusiastic about taking the political risk at the time.

Yeah 69 million Americans voted how to spend the other 240 million Americans’ money, even those who are not able to vote due to age. What is wrong with that picture? Even if the majority of people voted how to spend the minority’s money — It would be wrong. But here we have a minority voting how to spend other people’s money and mortgage their future.

But the progressives are doing it backwards. They institute policies that destroy the market and cause an economic calamity. Then they continue with policies that further destroy the economy. And then they call us names because we balk at giving welfare and food stamps to victims of their debacle.

Carter’s and Clinton’s (and democrook-controlled congressses’) legacy. Look up the “Community Reinvestment Act” as signed by Carter and its revision, as signed by Clinton. There’s the root of the Housing Bubble. Both versions almost as purely a dem production as Obama(don’t)care. They did get a few of the squishier RINOs to go along. . .

I would drop them like a rock if they started making biased political remarks like the stars do on the Academy Awards (which I quit watching years ago, even though I love the movies).
But so far, their comments have been either non-political or evenly distributed.
Of course, if I had a good hunting or hiking buddy, I would much rather be outdoors.

          • JeffH

My general viewing consists of old westerns, rasslin’…from my days watching with my grammy, outdoor programming, most car/racing programs and the 2 NCIS shows.

          • Karolyn

Wow, Jeff! We have something in common. I love NCIS, although I think the LA version is not as good and really doesn’t make sense. I can never figure out how NCIS gets involved in all those non-Navy incidents.

          • JeffH

My favorite show is NCIS…probably the best cast of characters on TV. I’m wondering if the Coast Guard lady is going to replace Ziva this year. NCIS LA is a pretty good show too, there’s always a link to either the military or DHS.

Another favorite of mine is Blue Bloods with Tom Selleck.

          • Karolyn

Yeah, I like Blue Bloods too. It’s interesting when they have shows that refer to the intrusion on the public’s privacy. Part of why I like it too is because I grew up about 30 miles from NYC. Reminds me of “home.”
Of course, CSI and Criminal Minds are favorites of mine too, although Criminal Minds gets pretty far out there with the gore. I just like cop shows.

          • JeffH

It’s a well written and well cast show and I like Tom Selleck and the characters that he seems to portray…which I also believe is the type of person he is in real life…honest and thoughful and a deep sense of real America’s values of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness…supportive of the family, hard work and a very positive outlook in general…a Libertarian at heart and an NRA board member(remeber the rift with big mouth Rosie O’Donnel?) What you see is what you get with Selleck.
I think the whole cast of characters makes for a great entertaining show.

          • Don 2

Tom Selleck…..one of the best Hollywood has to offer. Quigley Down Under…..one cool movie.

Rosie…..just the mention of that pig…..I lost my breakfast.

What the heck? I came here for a good drama and I get the “Family Hour”? What’s up with that?
Actually, it’s nice to see people talking for a change…and not about politics. It’s nice when people find common ground to stand upon.
BTW, I’m a big fan of NCIS myself!
            ;)

          • JeffH

But what are we going to do if we don’t liberal foils?

          • TheOriginalDaveH

Have some legitimate discussions about Freedom?
For instance on the Drug Wars, which are a dismal failure but good people have been wrongly convinced that they are beneficial?
People ultimately behave their best when they are Free to make their own mistakes. You can see that in teenagers if you take the time to study them. I gave my 16 year old daughter only one rule –> She had to pay for her own mistakes. She was out of control when her mother brought her to my house, but she is so domesticated now (20 years later) that I worry she is going to stress herself into poor health. I attribute that to the fact that she wasn’t preoccupied with spiting me, like so many teens are, so she actually learned from her mistakes (and my calm advice) instead of repeating them over and over in an attempt to prove me wrong.
There are many issues that could be discussed rationally and intelligently if we didn’t spend so much time dealing with the Trolls.

          • speedle24

Yes, that is a discussion for another time perhaps. But while I am thinking about it the problem I have with the concept of de-criminalization is that even though you have observed that “people ultimately behave their best when they are free to make their own mistakes”, you are making some assumptions that the “people” come from a culture that values things that “other” cultures don’t. “Conscience” plays a big role in self control and our society has produced an entirely new generation of young people that have little if any of it.

          • TheOriginalDaveH

They are a product, Speedle, of decades of Liberals blaming everybody but the actual perps for the trouble they cause.
Note that decriminalization of drugs doesn’t mean that druggies could harm other people and get away with it.

          • Don 2

Raising teenage girls…..what can you say? Been there…..done that…..twins…..wouldn’t want to go back. Many go off the rails around age 15 (hormones), then start to come around again(acting human) in their early twenties. Always joked, “If I was born a woman, I would shoot myself!!”

          • TheOriginalDaveH

Hormones or not, Don, teenagers just want what we all want — Freedom. Most of their ill-behavior is based on that quest.

          • rocketride

What I do not understand is why the Congress lets him get away with these things. The top dog on the totem pole is responsible for everything the people under them do or don’t do. The one thing the President can and should do is bite the bullet and confess up and fire whomever did whatever was wrong. He knows nothing and does nothing and gets away with it. I believe the Democrats are finally (too late) finding out that the President’s actions are going to cost them in the coming elections. If the Congress was smart enough they would submit criminal charges against those that have broken laws.

    • TheOriginalDaveH

Once you realize that the Government is just a very large self-serving self-perpetuating Gang with only the illusion of control by voters, you will understand, Carl, why your comment is mistaken.
“To say governments were formed to protect the rights of men would be historically incorrect. Almost all governments were formed by ruthless men exerting their will over others through the use of force. Some governments, over time, evolved toward the rule of law, perhaps only because their rulers saw that this would sanction their own continued enjoyment of the wealth that they possessed. In some instances, this evolution involved one or more “revolutions” in which those who were governed were able to better establish the rule of law”.

Read and Heed MORON You have been programmed by the Socialist elite, and thank God everyone is not as STOOPID as you. Come November next year after people have wised up that ODUMBO is nothing more than a the Snake Oil Salesman I said he was you’ll be singing a different tune
he following is directed at you so you might get a glimmer what has happened to sheeple like you and how you were so easily DUPED.

Socialists/communists/liberals use public policy to destroy America from the inside. To destroy the family they pushed co habitation instead of marriage and get children away from the parents and into government
programs so they can indoctrinate them. Socialists/communists/liberals used the feminist movement to make women discontent with marriage and motherhood and easily influenced towards socialism and communism. Socialists/communists/liberals use public policy to subvert America and got behind the environmental movement to destroy business instituting regulations and red tape. Socialists/communists want to destroy our culture and religion by pushing homosexuality and degeneracy to erode America’s Morals

The book The Naked Communist of 1958 lays out how socialists/communists plan to subvert America from the inside

          Socialist/Communist goals to:

Destroy the west by destroying their culture
remove the father and destroy the family and destroying the family and instead of the father providing for the family the government becomes a nanny state
causing dependence on the government which ultimately destroys the nation.

          1) Subvert us from the inside Remove all prayers
from school on the grounds it violates the separation from the church and the state

          2) Discredit the family as an institution and encourage promiscuity and easy divorce

3)Get control of the schools and use them as transmission belts for socialism and soften the curriculum and get control of the teacher associations

          4) Eliminate all laws of obscenity by calling them censorship and a violation of free speech

          5) Break down social morality by promoting
pornography in books magazines movies and TV

          6) Present homosexuality degeneracy and promiscuity as normal, natural and healthy

          7) Infiltrate the press and gain control of key positions in radio TV and motion pictures

          8) Infiltrate churches and replace revealed religion with “social” religion and discredit the bible

And along with YOUR help by 2008 the socialists/communists achieved these goals

To sit back hoping that someday, some way, someone will make things right is to go on feeding the wolf, hoping he will eat you last – but eat you he will.

To be fair, no man knows what is best for 315 million other Americans. We need to shrink Government dramatically. We need to get them out of the wealth redistribution business. We need to get back to making people buy the goods and services they want with their own money in Free Markets.
We all need to become aware that Government’s main inclination is to promote their own self-interests and those of their Crony Capitalists.
If we could get along as a nation with Government Spending of only 5% of the GDP before 1900, we can get along with that now. Our economy would soar. Nobody who wanted to work would be left jobless. Above all, we wouldn’t have Government busybody people meddling with our every choice.

      • Vis Fac

Well Dave This is all well and good BUT the American public being programmed by the socialist elite all these years it will be hard to wean them off big government and the entitlements. At first people will panic but in the long run we will be stronger and more productive in doing so, providing riots don’t do us in first.

One more positive, illegal immigration will drastically be effected and there will be no need to “waste” money on infective immigration procedures.

I for one would welcome a smaller more efficient less intrusive government.

That was also the same day in 1512 your Libertarian Party finished writing their platform(?) for the future (?) !!! We can’t slow down to let you people catch up! You’ll just have to run a little faster! If you throw away those Mises Books you might be able to increase your speed (and expand your knowledge )!!!! Just saying!!

The Libertarian Party didn’t exist until 1971, numbnuts.
The day you could outperform me in any physical or mental contest, NutCase, would be an unusual day indeed.
Maybe you could explain to the reader, NutCase, why you “faster” Liberal Progressives advocate a system that has been a proven failure in every country that has fully implemented it? Socialism can only exist where they have Capitalist coattails to ride on.
Experience shows that the Larger Government is, the Smaller the Economy is:

Yet the ignorant Liberal Progressives keep clinging to their dogma insisting that this time it will be different.

@nc Your beloved system invariably fails at its stated goals precisely to the degree that it is implemented.

Original, the reason this country is “exceptional” is because it began as the most progressive form of government in the WORLD instead of old world practices and IT BECAME THE MOST POWERFUL. SUCCESSFUL PROGRESSIVE EXPERIMENT IN THE HISTORY OF MAN!!! AGREED????

Are you really that ignorant, NutCase?
This country was the Freest in the World for it’s first 100 years. And it became #1 as a result — Until the Progressives appeared in the late 19th century and took us down the road to Socialism. Now our citizens are “exceptionally” brainwashed and are seeing the American Dream evaporate in front of their eyes.

Socialists/communists & liberals use public policy to destroy America from the inside. To destroy the family they pushed co habitation instead of marriage and get children away from the parents and into government
programs so they can indoctrinate them. Socialists/communists & liberals used the feminist
movement to make women discontent with marriage and motherhood and easily influenced towards socialism and communism. Socialists/communists use public policy to subvert America and got behind the environmental movement to destroy business instituting regulations and red tape. Socialists/communists & liberals want to destroy our culture and religion by pushing homosexuality and degeneracy to erode America’s Morals ( and they’ve done a damn good job at that too!!)

The book The Naked Communist of 1958 lays out how socialists/communists & and now liberals plan to
            subvert America from the inside

Socialist/Communist & Liberal goals to: Destroy the west by destroying our culture remove the father figure and destroying the family. Instead of the father providing for the family the government becomes the father figure and then a nanny state causing dependence on the government which ultimately destroys the nation.
Here are a few of the goals set out in the Naked Communist that have been met and expanded by the progressive movement

            1) Subvert the US from the inside Remove all prayers
from school on the grounds it violates the separation from the church and the state

            2) Discredit the family as an institution and encourage promiscuity and easy divorce

            3) Get control of the schools and use them as transmission belts for socialism and soften the curriculum and get control of the teacher associations
( we all know this would never happen right?)

            4) Eliminate all laws of obscenity by calling them censorship and a violation of free speech

            5) Break down social morality by promoting
pornography in books magazines movies and TV

            6) Present homosexuality degeneracy and promiscuity as normal, natural and healthy (this was one of the liberals favorite agendas of late)

            7) Infiltrate the press and gain control of key positions in radio TV and motion pictures (Ya Think!!)

            8) Infiltrate churches and replace revealed religion with “social” religion and discredit the bible. (in one of ODUMBO’S speeches “conservatives hang on to their bibles and guns”) As it it were a bad thing.

And by 2008 the socialists/communists & liberals have achieved their goals

To sit back hoping that someday, some way, someone will make things right is to go on feeding the wolf hoping he will eat you last – but eat you he will.

You don’t have to be a Marine to make a difference the only requirement is being truly patriotic and the willingness to back it up!!!

Just why nc would the policies of 1900 not work now? In 1900 we were a growing, prosperous country that was over-run with entrepreneurs.
Government does nothing efficiently. Most of the current government is not enumerated in the founding documents and therefore is unconstitutional.
The Founders knew what would make this nation great, and it was not guvernment.
          DaveH is spot on.

        • Bill

Your responses are becoming juvenile, Nc

    • JeffH

Bill, pretty well said…here is my take on O’Man after much research.
I think Obama may view his POTUS role as a necessary annoyance …the means to an end

      1. Obama honed his skills through the Chicago/Daley/Marxist Alinsky crime machine…just as Hillary Clinton and Bill did.

      2. Obama’s greatest skill is his ability to organize…thus the “community organizer” and his 5+ years of campaigning(“community organizer matrix”?) rather than leading

      3. Obama is politically hapless…has absolutley no political skills, despite what others may say or believe…sure he’s involved in politics, but not because of his political skills…see#2

      4. Obama has spent the better part of his life being mentored and groomed by radical fundamentalists…communists, Marxists, socialists, progressives…his mother, step father and grandfather were communists, Kenyan cousin Raila Ordinga, Frank Marshall Davis, Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn, David Axelrod, Zbigniew Brzezinski, John L. Mckight, Khalid Al-Mansour, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Tony Rezco, Louis Farrakhan, Rev. James Meeks, George Soros, Valerie Jarrett etc.

      5. Mohamed Salim Al-Churbaji – a Syrian University student who served as a fundraiser and organizer for Obama’s campaign. His father, Mohammed Al-Churbaji, is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood with close ties to such terrorists as Abu Amatallah; leading mujahideen fighters Abu Rawdha; and Bassam Ahmad, the latter fought for Osama Bin Laden !

Numerous of these radicals/communists were Obama’s mentors and close friends, even political allies! How could he Not be influenced? You become who you admire! You Are who You Choose to Associate with! A man is known by the company he keeps!

It does not matter….did he know or didn’t he? He has a different purpose in this world…a sinister purpose.. a pure evil purpose, and all the distractions going on are a smoke screen for “their” agenda, which is to take down the United States of America. To create the “New World Order” and this is happening right before our eyes. Behind the scenes “they” all know what is going on, so if we are distracted, divided, and fooled, “they” get away with putting in place the ultimate plan to take us over. We really cannot stop it at this time, we have no power in the people because we are divided!!!! We have been infiltrated, we have been duped, we have been promised euphoria, but it is not our euphoria, it is “theirs”!!! The end times is described in the Bible…READ IT!!!!! We are close now and the ONLY saving grace will be the return of Christ. No amount of debate between us will resolve anything! No name calling…no blaming your side or my side will result in “who’s winning”!!!! The gov’t as we know it, both sides as we know them, are the same…The New World Order…..one gov’t over everyone!!! Yet, we are so entrenched in blaming each other for all the problems in this world today, we are blind and confused to the fact that what is happening is not good for any of us…but only good for the “Elite” who want total power and control over “The People”…no matter where you live…thus…”The New World Order”!!! GOD HELP US ALL…and start praying because we will need His grace!!! And for those of you who are non believers, i pray for you, whether you want it or not!!!

He is a two term jimmy carter, with a vicious racist streak jimmy carter never had on his worst day.

He is an either totally incompentent leader of a nation that does not know his own policies.

Or he is a deceitful crook that is purposely out to bankrupt this country bleed it dry and leave its corpse for the vultures of the international community to pick over as they call in our debts.

He is blatantly allowing massive spying, intimidation tactics, when candidate obama wanted an end to the patriot act, end to guantamo, where are we all these years later? patriot act is not only alive and well and far stronger than bush 2 could have ever had a wet dream over.

he has abused the irs and violated the law trying to harass political opponents.

All the abuses people accused bush jr doing obama not only has actually done but far surpassed with drone strikes, national wire tapping.

Oh and lets not forget covering up the killing of an embassy full of people, with a pure b.s. story and he knew it was b.s. and everyone in the white house knew it was b.s. the embassy had gotten warnings of a possible alcaida strike and had numerous times to get additional security all ignored by the obama administration, whoops just got lost in the shuffle folks sorry people died, oh that that story well i do not think they ever came up with the reason they dug up that drivel. This by far is the most agregious illegal and immoral act by far and no way in hell any president and white house should be allowed to skate on this for as long as they have but for a plethoria of other scandals keeping that off the front page for the most part.

Fact this man even got a second term is near mind boggling except for the fact the gop keeps nominating the worst possible shill for the job. Well and probably hefty amount of voter fraud, obama is from chicago illionis where the crooked election has been a long standing tradition.

How could Barry know anything about the Government, he spends all his time on the stump, reading what someone else has fed him on the teleprompter, He’s a complete fraud
However, he does have some who still think he’s smarter than a water mellon, Progressive Republicans still think he’s related to Einstein, just ask Krauthammer, Bill O’Reilly and several Republican Senators.

I don’t believe this guy has any idea what’s in the Healthcare bill, He’s not lying, he’s just carrying the mail. He has no idea what happened in Fast & Furious, IRS, NSA,
Benghazi or all the other scandals, other, than telling the lies furnished by the teleprompter via his mentors. How could he be this involved in all these situations, spending every waking hour campaigning , flying from city to city. It isn’t going to happen unless we get a non-Democrat majority in both houses next year.
I would prefer, though, that people wise up and put some Libertarians in office instead of rubber-stamping the same old Republican Establishment offerings in their vain efforts to elect the Lesser-of-Two-Evils, who is still just Evil.
We need to downsize Government dramatically and the Republicans don’t have the desire to do that.

      • Chuckb

I’m with you Dave, We have seen time after time, electing and reelecting establishment republicans has got us nowhere, they just join the Bolsheviks on the golf course and we end up worse than before.
We know the Bolsheviks are the problem and to out vote the entitlement crowd is getting harder each election.

I have nothing against the Libertarian or the Tea Party, however, they have let the Media degrade them thru innuendos, lies and the Republicans help them. The Tea Party has no national leader

and I believe that hurts them.
Every election cycle we go through the same thing, we need a new party and nothing happens.

We need a Ronald Reagan type who can lead people away from the entitlement attitude of the country. We also must stop this Amnesty Bill.

The Illegal pResident’s goal is to reshape America demographically

Barack Hussein Obama has invited 80,000 Muslims to immigrate next year to the United States. He is doing this by EXECUTIVE ORDER. Additionally, he has PROMISED TO BRING a minimum of 100,000 additional muslims per year, for the next 5 years.

In a determination letter to Congress, Obama has announced that he will allow an additional 80,000 muslim immigrants – – mostly from Islamic countries – – to resettle in the United States during fiscal year 2011, and 100,000 PER YEAR from 2012-2016

Obama said that the increase in Muslim immigrants “is JUSTIFIED by humanitarian concerns or is otherwise in the NATIONAL INTEREST.” http://planet.infowars.com/worldnews/middle-east/obama-authorizes-an-additional-80000-muslims-to-enter-the-country

I am wandering, WHO decides what the “NATIONAL INTEREST” is?

“If there’s an Arab-American family being rounded up without benefit of an attorney or due process, that threatens my civil liberties.” – obama, Keynote Address at 2004 DNC

“I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.” – obama, “The Audacity of Hope”, page 261 of the paperback, 2006

“I ceased to advertise my mother’s race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.” – obama, “Dreams of My Father”

“I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and ANIMOSITY AGAINST MY MOTHER’S RACE.”- obama, “Dreams of My Father”

  • Nadzieja Batki

O’s defenders may claim that O doesn’t know what goes on in any governmental agency but this can only be claimed if he doesn’t hold meeting with any agency heads. And if agency heads don’t know what is going on because people working for them do not tell them anything for fear of their jobs. That is also possible if O can’t stand them and they can’t stand him.
Even a human body with its voluntary and involuntary parts lets itself know what is going on with it.
What a whirlwind of liars O’s defenders have become. By the way, why doesn’t O speak for himself?

Everyone whose policy was “cancelled” has been offered better plans. Should people who like to buy cars without any safety features, no seat belts, no airbags, no horn, no brake lights etc. be allowed to buy those cars? Safety features add at least $1,000 to the cost of a car. Some people might like to buy cars without safety features and everyone would like to pay $1,000+ less for a car. However, we do not allow cars to be sold without safety features.

The 75% of those in the USA who file for bankruptcy because of unpaid medical bills who HAD insurance, probably now would say they wish that those policies with low lifetime caps (now illegal) should not have been allowed to be sold to them.

“… Price inelasticity in medical care stems not from the physical nature of its delivery as is the case of retail electricity. Rather, it is the dynamics of how medical care is delivered via the patient –doctor relationship. How many people have ever negotiated with a doctor over the price before undergoing necessary treatment? Have you ever met anyone who got up off an examination table and walked out because the doctor quoted too high a price? In theory, sick people could shop for the lowest price, but they don’t. An individual gasoline station faces elastic demand. People must buy gasoline, but if one station raises its price enough, customers will go elsewhere. When an individual doctor increases fees, most customers don’t go elsewhere. Thus, fees will continue to rise until prices reach the elastic portion of the demand curve.

In the USA we have attempted to deal with the combination of inelastic demand and unregulated medical care prices in various ways. One method of keeping medical care expense as a percent of GDP to “only” double that of other developed countries was to have a significant portion of the population uninsured and denied medical care in some circumstances. Obamacare will reduce the number of uninsured and untreated. However admirable this may be from a humanitarian perspective, absent price controls, it will exacerbate the cost problem. The existence of large numbers of uninsured (conscripts in the war against rising medical costs) did moderate the growth in health care costs. Now the number of uninsured and untreated will be declining and uncontrolled prices will be rising.

Focusing attention on the insurance companies, which are simply intermediaries between the doctors and the patients, was a tragic error. It would like trying to solve a problem of high energy prices by focusing on gasoline stations. Only if the government sets prices can health care prices be controlled. Controlling prices does not automatically result in longer waiting times. Japan and Switzerland generally have shorter waiting times to see doctors than does the USA. Additionally, if prices were controlled there would be no such thing as “in-network” or “out-of-network” since all doctors would accept all insurance plans…”

What about the people who had great coverage and have lost that? You don’t address this! These people had Cadillac Insurance policies and they have been dropped too! Why? Because the way Obamacare was written if there was any type of change written into the policy, it had to be canceled. Why? To eventually force everyone into a single payer policy called the Government! Why? Because Obama wants it that way!

What about all of those who are exempt from this insurance all together huh???
Such as the Muslims! They are exempt from this program all together!

What about all of the other exemptions your great Socialist Master gave illegal exemptions to?
Why did I say illegal exemptions? Because that really was NOT in his authority to give! Only congress could do that!

Besides, you are giving the same old rhetoric that the rest of your socialist friends are giving. Come back when you have something new to add.

No one who had great coverage has lost that coverage. Although arguing with someone who thinks Muslims are exempt from this program altogether seems a bit like trying to explain quantum mechanics to a dim witted three year-old.
Every year insurance companies decide to leave or enter various lines of coverage thus causing people to lose coverage. Obama should have realized that and explained that in general the vast majority of people who already have decent health insurance won’t see any changes.
It is interesting that the free-market Republicans are now intruding bill that would force insurance companies to sell people their old policies whether or not the insurance companies wanted to do so or not.

As of October 1, 2013, only 5% of Americans have individual health insurance policies. The rest have group policies through their employment, government health insurance like medicare, Medicaid, veterans etc. The rest are not insured. Thus, the 93 million number is just as factual as saying 93 billion Americans are losing their health insurance. Also, many of the 5% who have private health insurance have and will still have legitimate insurance that could not be cancelled for preexisting conditions and had reasonable lifetime caps so that any serious illness would not bankrupt them, as is the case with the relatively few policies that are being cancelled for being substandard now.

Fox news found some people who would rather keep their phony insurance, since until you need it you do not know that it is substandard.

features add at least $1,000 to the cost of a car. Some people might like to buy cars without safety features and everyone would like to pay $1,000+ less for a car.

I like to refer to Obama’s lack of knowledge about his own policies…. as “Implausible Deniability”.

    http://conservativevideos.com/2013/11/deceitful-incompetent-students-call-obamas-handling-scandals-obamacare/

    • Bob666

      Yo Joe,

The last president that had “Implausible Deniability” was Reagan and he turned out to have the beginning stages of Mad Cow.

      How old is Obama?
perhaps that will be his excuse?

      • Average_Joe56

Nope,….He will next claim that he was on the golf course and just heard the news…from a friend…. on the 16th hole……. which caused him to miss his “Birdie”….or was it the “Birdie” who told him?
I also heard he once hit an “Eagle” on the course…they’re still trying to clean up that mess…..he didn’t realize that the term was not to be taken literally……
BTW, Reagan never had Rachel Madcow disease…that’s strictly a genetic liberal disease……..He had Old timer’s disease…..

        ;)

        • Bob666

I beg to differ with you Joe,

One of the best TV shows in the last 10 years where William Shatner played Denny Crane, an attorney with what you call “Old timer’s” disease as Mad Cow.

Denny Crane was around long before Rachel Maddow.

          • Average_Joe56

            Your math skills are failing…

“One of the best TV shows in the last 10 years”

“Denny Crane was around long before Rachel Maddow.”

Rachael Madcow is 40 years old, she started her broadcasting career somewhere around 2001-2002.
Boston legal started in 2007…seems Rachael has been around longer than Denny Crane…..Time for a new calculator?
            ……woopsie!

          • Bob666

Wow Joe-you’re on a roll tonight.
            Allow me clarify,
I don’t have cable and while Maddow might be +/- 40 years old, I did not hear of her until five to six years ago.

So, on TV, Denny was around before Rachael,

Just saying and yes, google is Our friend.

          • Average_Joe56

“I did not hear of her until five to six years ago”
So, because you didn’t hear of her until then…she didn’t exist before then?……
Like I said…Google ( or whatever search engine you use) is your friend. Use it before making a statement on a subject that you don’t actually know about…it just makes more sense than putting your feet in your mouth.
When in doubt…do the research first.

40% Say Sebelius Should Be Fired or Resign, 41% Disagree

    Friday, November 01, 2013

Voters overwhelmingly want to scrap or change the new national health care law but are evenly divided over whether Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius should lose her job because of the law’s troubled debut.

Forty percent (40%) of Likely U.S. Voters believe Sebelius should be fired or resign because of the problems now being experienced with the new health care law. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 41% disagree and say Sebelius should not leave her job due to these problems. Nineteen percent (19%) more are undecided.

The survey of 1,000 Likely Voters was conducted on October 30-31, 2013 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence

National Survey of 1,000 Likely Voters
    Conducted October 30-31, 2013
Questions for poll by Rasmussen Reports

1* How closely have you followed recent news reports about the new national health care law?

2* Should Kathleen Sebelius, the secretary of Health and Human Services, be fired or resign because of the problems now being experienced with the new health care law?

3* Some Americans are now finding that their health insurance plans are being changed or cancelled as a result of the new law which will cost them more money. How likely is it that President Obama or senior officials in the Obama administration were aware long before the law began being implemented that health insurance costs would go up for some?

4* Did most members of Congress who voted to create the new national health care law know what was in the law before they voted for it?

5* Given the problems with the new law, should Congress and the president go through the law piece by piece to improve it, repeal the entire law and start over again or leave the law as it is?

Polls are biased by the poll takers. If you believe in polls, you will be fooled

      • Bob666

        Let’s see Bill,
WAR who said Romney will win by a land slide or seven out of ten polls that said Obama will win or too close to call.

People who bet on seven out of ten polls won Willie-did you?

        • Bill

          Bobby,
So you form your opinions by polls and not independent thinking

          • Bob666

            No Willie, not at all.

I form my opinion from the content of a man or woman’s character, their moral & ethical integrity and their track record.

You are obviously confusing two different subjects.

Polls tell you what people are thinking and what opinions they form. Their accuracy is dependent on the size of the statistical sample and the random cross section of the population sampled.

Polling is a science based on statistical & quantitative analysis and many business organizations make significant strategy decisions based on polling data.

Political races are also run on polls and many are won on polls. Polls are the science of determining or projecting the final outcome, nothing more -nothing less.

Independent thinking is based of the ability to define reality and sort it out from a vast amount of data and determine the accuracy or fallacy of that data.

What is it that you do Willie?

          • Average_Joe56

“I form my opinion from the content of a man or woman’s character, their moral & ethical integrity and their track record.”

            Joe,
There has not been a candidate that I could stomach for president in twenty-plus years. I vote for the individual, not the party. that said, I would say that 2/3’s of my votes go to republicans.

I have written checks to candidates on both sides and because of that, I am on everyone’s mailing list.

What do you think of our Governor? will you vote for Scott for a 2nd term?

” I vote for the individual, not the party.”

First it was the “party” then it was “the individual”

          • Bob666

            So Joe,

Let me get this right. Because I did not mention Gary Johnson & Jim Gray for 2012 or Bob Barr/Wayne Allyn Root in 2008, that makes you question what side of my brain I use?

It’s really kind of funny as I had forgotten who WAR was when I discovered this site three to four years ago. But if it’s important to you, the last republican that I voted for for president was George H Bush. That was when I stated voting for third parties for president.

Again Joe, because I know you like to split atoms on detail. I vote for the individual, not the party and as I said, there really has been no candidate for president that I could stomach in twenty plus years.

I don’t take sides Joe, I use to belonged to the GOP-for close to thirty years and got disappointed during the Reagan years as they lost their soul.

If you choose to read something into my motives or what side of my brain is used for processing information-be my guest.

But I have to tell you, those post above and below are on a new lever of strange.

            Just saying…………

I would like to see where your research came up with all that information.

          • Bob666

That is a pretty easy answer Chuckie. I did not vote for Obama and you know what happens when people like you assume.

      • Chuckb

Bill, Current poll taking is in business to sway voters thinking, they are paid by political organizations, most pollsters like rasmussen are democratic hacks. They claim to be independent, that’s not true. Bob666 claims he is an independent, however, I would say he is a Democrat activist or wanna be otherwise why the constant flow of polling information, especially when it’s in favor of Democratic activity.

It’s better to think for yourself and not be influenced by polling.

Rush and others like him have my respect, they may exaggerate the truth, however, what you and other Liberals accuse him and they of lying is beyond reason, If they lied, it wouldn’t take long before the public caught on and that would end their careers.
Polling is a trap for low information voters.

I am not an Obama supporter, I never voted for him and I don’t like some of his choices but unlike many of you here I can still recognize and be honest enough to acknowledge intelligence when I see it.

Personally I am disgusted by the vitriol and wasted energy of know nothing writers and commenters who spend all of their time putting down someone who, right or wrong in his decisions, at a minimum deserves respect for having been elected by our democratic process to be the leader of the free world.

I can’t help but wonder what we could accomplish if we worked together for just a few years instead of dedicating all of our energy to making sure everything massively failed.

We might be lucky enough to get single payer medicare for all system that would save us trillions and put the greedy insurance mafia genie back in it’s bottle. We’d be working on the most important issue facing future generations on this planet today which is Global Warming. We’d already have passed immigration reform, giving a few million hard working people amnesty so that they could finally go on with their lives free of the fear of being deported and having their families destroyed any day ( you know family values). We’d have re-regulated the banksters and stopped them from planning their next heist on all of us. we’d have done something about this corrupt, ridiculous and antiquated tax system. And yes because I like to dream big, we’d have come to our senses and created a peace dept, renounced all wars and repurposed the military to disaster help.

But hey I get it! that’s too hard so let’s just be fat and lazy and remain enamored with dancing with the stars or the next billionaire or Myliie whatever. And let’s blame everything on the black man in the white house. God knows we have no responsibility for this mess, it’s all his fault isn’t it?

    • TheOriginalDaveH

Eric says — “at a minimum deserves respect for having been elected by our democratic process to be the leader of the free world”.
Leader of the Free World? Surely you jest, Eric. There is nothing related to Freedom in Obama’s agenda. That’s why we’re here — to wake people up to the reality that we have lost our Freedom, thanks largely to self-serving Propagandists like yourself.

Eric says — “I can’t help but wonder what we could accomplish if we worked together for just a few years instead of dedicating all of our energy to making sure everything massively failed”.
We aren’t a Collective, Eric. We are individual human beings who have the natural right to make our own personal choices with our bodies and our property. No other individual, whether acting alone or with other individuals in a group, has the right to make those choices for us.

Eric says — “We might be lucky enough to get single payer medicare for all system that would save us trillions and put the greedy insurance mafia genie back in it’s bottle”.
It seems odd to me, Eric, that you Liberal Progressives rail against non-existent Monopolies in the Private Sector, but support Monopolies in the Public Sector. Why is that? Why do you think that a Government agency, who suffers no real loss for wrong decisions, would make more consumer-friendly choices than a Private Insurer who stands to lose their customers and their profits to other competitors if they misbehave?
And why do you think it proper for you, and others like you, to Force your choices on the rest of us?

Eric says — “We’d be working on the most important issue facing future generations on this planet today which is Global Warming”.
Are you joking, Eric? Homogenic Global Warming has been thoroughly proven to be a Political Hoax on the rest of us. It followed the Global Cooling scare of the 1970s which didn’t work because the climate wasn’t cooperative. Leaders are looking frantically for excuses to control our lives, and Global Warming is just one of them. What’s your stake in this, Eric, self-interest or just plain Propagandized ignorance?

      http://cei.org/expert/christopher-c-horner

      • Eric Bischoff

Self serving propagandist? That’s really you though isn’t it. You and the me me first crowd. Last time I looked all of my comments are about cooperating and helping the collective.

You can’t have it both ways. You can’t call me a communist and then say that I am self serving. So which is it?

Let’s be honest. You never had any freedom and it’s not really Obama’s doing. You gave up most of your last remaining freedoms when you all blindingly allowed the Bush Dynasty to pass the Patriot Act.

Where were you then? Where was your outrage then? Who needs to wake up?

        • TheOriginalDaveH

I don’t need to Force my way on others, Eric. You do. That makes you the “me first crowd”.
And you ARE a Communist, Eric, but I don’t see what that has to do with NOT being self-centered. In fact, Communists are the extreme of self-centered since they advocate taking other people’s property.
If you want a collective, Eric, then join one voluntarily and pool your monies. Nobody is stopping you. Just keep your hands out of the rest of our pockets.

Eric says — “Let’s be honest. You never had any freedom and it’s not really Obama’s doing. You gave up most of your last remaining freedoms when you all blindingly allowed the Bush Dynasty to pass the Patriot Act”.
Talk about a fallacious statement. It is Obama’s doing, and Bush’s doing, and all the rest of the Big Government apparatus. I didn’t allow Bush to do anything, Eric. Can’t you make any factual coherent arguments?

          • Eric Bischoff

Sometimes you’re like a little girl

I know you are but what am I.

Is that your best response here?

          • TheOriginalDaveH

Eric is losing, so he desperately reaches for his bag of adolescent Liberal Progressive manipulative tricks.
            You’re pathetic, Eric.

          • Eric Bischoff

You are for the free market. You are for me first and me only and others can fend for themselves. So why do you deny this?

          • TheOriginalDaveH

Who is being more selfish, Eric — the person who wants to keep his own property and decide voluntarily who to trade with, OR the person who wants to help himself to other people’s property and take away their Free Choice of Trade?

          • Eric Bischoff

            Simple minded.

You can trade freely all you want. But if you destroy the earth, cut dow the amazon forest, or dump your waste in the ocean, the lake or the atmosphere as part of your business plan for making profits then NO you can’t.

If you destroy a community that helped you build your business because all of a sudden you’ve figured out that you could go exploit cheap slave labor in China and poison the environment at will so all so that you can make more money then NO you can’t.

That’s why we need govt. People can’t be trusted to do the right thing when it comes to making money. Greed takes over.

Your free market ideology is a flawed ideology just like communism. And soon dreamers will realize that capitalism is flawed and unsustainable as well.

Capitalism is based on perpetual growth which is impossible on a planet that is reaching over population and peak resource use.

Hell we’re even running out of Life’s essential element Phosphorus.

          • TheOriginalDaveH

Eric resorts to his usual Argumentum ad Hominem.
Eric says — “You can trade freely all you want. But if you destroy the earth, cut dow the amazon forest, or dump your waste in the ocean, the lake or the atmosphere as part of your business plan for making profits then NO you can’t”.
Non Sequitur, Eric. Trespassing on other people’s bodies and properties would not be allowed and has nothing to do with the concept of Free Markets.

Eric says — “If you destroy a community that helped you build your business because all of a sudden you’ve figured out that you could go exploit cheap slave labor in China and poison the environment at will so all so that you can make more money then NO you can’t”.
There are so many logical flaws in your comments, Eric, that I find it tedious to address them all.
If a company owner can’t make a profit on his investment, why should he remain where he is? Why do you think, because somebody is called Chinese, they don’t have a right to earn a living? Is Slave Labor worse than NO LABOR? Shouldn’t that be their choice, not yours?
You’re quit the Forcer, aren’t you Eric? You want to Force the company owners to stay where they’re losing money, and you want to take away the Slave Laborer’s choice of having a job or not.
Whether their environment is poisoned or not should be the Choice of the Chinese, Eric, not yours.

Eric says — “Capitalism is based on perpetual growth which is impossible on a planet that is reaching over population and peak resource use”.
The old fallacious argument that Capitalism is based on “perpetual growth”. Balderdash. Capitalism (which we haven’t had for many decades) is based on Freedom of Choice by the consumers and the workers and the company owners. Whether they Grow or Not is inconsequential.

Eric says — “Hell we’re even running out of Life’s essential element Phosphorus”.
Really? Where has it gone? Did somebody eject it to outer space? Did it just disappear?
If you think that there are just too many people using it, then why do you support the Socialistic agenda of Welfare which enables people to have more children since they don’t have to pay for them?

      • Eric Bischoff

        Surely I don’t jest Dave.
Especially when I talk about respect.

        • TheOriginalDaveH

You’re not being respectful, Eric, when you Force your way on other people through Big Government.

          • Eric Bischoff

I am not forcing anything. A democratic system is supposed to be about us the people agreeing on how we wish to operate and govern ourselves. Even games have rules and umpires. Unless of course you prefer to go back to being tribal with war lords. It could easily happen, just look at what we did to Iraq.

The Greedy Free Market never content always wanting more has corrupted the entire process by buying politicians and agencies.

How convenient now you can stand up and scream it’s govt’s fault. Let’s get rid of govt.

I say let’s all agree to yank back and amend the corporate charters of all businesses involved in breaking laws, corruption, buying politicians, paying slave wages and polluting the commons.

Let’s evolve now that we know the free market can never be trusted because it’s run by people who more often than not are greedy. Let’s come up with something better.

          • TheOriginalDaveH

Eric says — “I am not forcing anything”.
            Because you say so, Eric?
You are Forcing. You vote for Big Government meddling, and Government is Force. Most of what Government does these days could be had in Free Markets, cheaper and more politely, only you would have to pay with your own money, not other people’s money.
How convenient for voters to vote for Government to do things that other people, who don’t want those things, have to pay for.

Eric says — “The Greedy Free Market never content always wanting more has corrupted the entire process by buying politicians and agencies”.
Crony Capitalism is NOT Free Markets, ignoramus. I’ve told you that time and again and still you spew your nonsense, Eric.
Government has always been about Crony Capitalism. They were held in check for about 70 years after the Revolution by the Revolutionists and their children, but afterwards resumed their normal role in life of giving Special-Privilege to themselves and their Crony Capitalists.
Do you pride yourself on being ignorant, Eric? Or are you just here in the hopes of Propagandizing others to keep them that way?

      • Eric Bischoff

It’s not that complicated a Single Payer Medicare for all system that would allow me to go to any doctor or any hospital of my choice and select any therapy I chose is what I deserve from an honest free market system. Now that would be freedom. The single payer part simplifies it for everyone, the doctors and the patients. That’s efficiency. The Insurance Mafia is the part that needs to go. They don’t deserve to exist anymore. They are thieves and they could care less about healthcare, they are only in it for the money. In case you haven’t noticed they are the real Death Panels today denying healthcare to increase profits. All of the fear propaganda against Single Payer Medicare for All comes from the entrenched status quo that has been robbing everyone blind. It seems to me Dave that you want even more of that without any regulations at all.

And yes Man Made Global Warming is what we should be focused on. That is our biggest challenge ever. The more we wait the worse it gets. But I guess some of you are happy that it might all be coming to an end.

As far as I am concerned, Climate Deniers are the lowest forms of humans today.

        • TheOriginalDaveH

Freedom is the Absence of Government Force. A single payer system is the maximum Government Force.
And no, Eric, you wouldn’t be able to go to the doctor of your choice. You would go to the doctor that Government chose to provide you. And if there was a shortage, you would have to suck up or do without when you had a heathcare need.

Eric says — “The Insurance Mafia is the part that needs to go. They don’t deserve to exist anymore. They are thieves and they could care less about healthcare, they are only in it for the money”.
Maybe. Maybe not. But you have a choice, Eric. We won’t have that choice with single-payer. What makes you think that people (Government), who have no financial stake in pleasing the consumer, will care more about you?

You still haven’t explained, Eric, why you Liberal Progressives rail against Monopolies in the Private Sector (which have never existed), but give a free pass to Government Monopoly?

Eric says — “As far as I am concerned, Climate Deniers are the lowest forms of humans today”.
Mommy, wahhh, Eric is calling me names again.
You are pathetic, Eric. You should get some education so you can debate intelligently instead of behaving like a child.

“And let’s blame everything on the black man in the white house.”

      Count me in.

  • Eric Bischoff

Come to think of it, isn’t everything privatized and outsourced today? So according to Libertarians, constitutionalists, free market zealots, it should be working better shouldn’t it?

It’s not really the govt that built and runs the healthcare website. It’s all outsourced and that company worked directly with the Insurance companies to put their overly complicated myriad of convoluted plans online. So it’s really the private sector that’s to blame here. Hummm!

And what else is handled by the private sector that you are all up in arms about and blaming govt? Well let’s see. Security in the middle east, NSA survelllance, the Fed. All private corporations doing the what they do best.

    • TheOriginalDaveH

Are you purposely lying, Eric? Or are you just that ignorant?
We are about as far away from Libertarian ideals as a country can get.
      Witness the 10,000 Commandments:

And to attribute the Obamacare debacle to Free Markets is more desperate and ignorant than I would have expected from even you, Eric. With Free Markets we would lose almost all Government involvement (save protection from Fraud) in the Healthcare field.
      http://mises.org/daily/5066
      http://mises.org/daily/3793

If you’re the best the Liberal Progressives have to offer, Eric, and from what I’ve seen here — you are — I feel sorry for your movement. It explains why your kind must resort to Force and Censorship to stay alive.

      • Eric Bischoff

The pen is mightier than the sword. Force and censorship is what the republican democrat corporate fascist system is all about.

Everyone knows Progressive ideals are all about, freedom of speech, anti war, and taking care of the not so fortunate.

Tell the truth Dave you favor the wealthy and the right to be wealthy at any cost. Screw anybody else who isn’t doing so well it’s their fault right?

        What ever happened to:
Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free!

        • TheOriginalDaveH

          Now you’re double-speaking, Eric.
Everybody knows that Progressive ideals are about censorship, ridicule, Political Correctness, other manipulative techniques, and using Other People’s Money to take care of the poor who wouldn’t be poor if we had Free Markets unless they chose to be.

Eric says — “Tell the truth Dave you favor the wealthy and the right to be wealthy at any cost. Screw anybody else who isn’t doing so well it’s their fault right?”.
I favor Freedom, Eric. I don’t favor Mercantilism. But I do favor Free Markets where the companies, who best please their consumers, are the most prosperous.

          • Eric Bischoff

Well it’s your loss if you can’t understand the basic premise of progressive politics.

Does Bernie Sanders look like he’s in it for himself only or does he ever vote for war. Has he helped provide universal healthcare for his state? Are they happy to have it? Do they want to go go back to the old system?

He has more great ideas in his little finger that the entire hypocritical tea party movement.

          • TheOriginalDaveH

No, Eric, I understand the basic premise of Progressive Politics very well. It is a system whereby the minority of Leaders and their Politically-Connected Pals feather their own nests at the expense of the rest of the people. They use various techniques to accomplish that feat — Propaganda, Coercion, and outright Force.

Eric says — “He has more great ideas in his little finger that the entire hypocritical tea party movement”.
Apparently, Eric, you have a difficult time explaining those “great ideas” because so far I have not seen anything of the sort from you.

          • Eric Bischoff

Oh you don’t understand anything I am talking about because you’ve always got your MISES blinders on. You don’t know beans about the real progressives in this country because like most people you have a very limited understanding of the political spectrum. The progressive left is not situated at slightly left of center where the main stream media and the Democrats are, it’s much further out and that’s got to be scary for you guys. You’ve drank the koolaid, bought the corporate media propaganda and worse yet you think you know. Why don’t you go read something else besides Mises already. You don’t have to agree with it but at least that way maybe you’ll know what you don’t like and why. Right now you’re not making too much sense.

          • TheOriginalDaveH

Argumentum ad hominem and conjecture. What else can we expect from Eric?

          • Eric Bischoff

I am for people/humans. I don’t treat them as consumer commodities like you do. It’s all about the buck for you isn’t it!

          • TheOriginalDaveH

You’re lying, Eric. If you were for people, you would let them make their own choices. And if it wasn’t about the buck, you wouldn’t be helping yourself to other people’s money.

  • scott miller

The problem is when you do absolutely nothing to address the runaway health costs, which imo would require tort reform specifically limiting malpractice claims, try and find ways to get doctors hours and interns hours at reasonable levels cut the amount of paper work they have to do for medicare and medicade and a myriad of insurance agencies.

You stuck the money lenders and the lawyers in a room together and created a new york phonebook sized bill that simply made it a requirement for everyone to buy insurance through the government. Any lies to the fact that people could keep their own insurance outside buddies to the president and congress itself, are being proven more and more to be lies as people get dropped and end up paying the same for less coverage and fewer benefits or paying drastically more for the level of their old coverage.

What would have been a sensible way, a reasonable way to start going about cutting health care costs?

How about getting doctors nurses hospital administrators and talk about the issues they have.

    How about patients groups?

How about talking to the people most involved in the day to day workings of the health care industry and figure out ways to trim the waste fraud and fat,

Instead of just shoe horning national government run health insurance onto the whole nation with no zero zip addressing the fraud waste bloated bureaucracy mapractice insurance costs.

They did not even try to make any honest effort to address the rising costs of health care not one single solitary thing they just forced everyone to pay.

    • TheOriginalDaveH

How about just getting Government out of it and letting Free Markets do what they do best — Please Consumers?

      • scott miller

Because there are things that can be done to cut the costs of health care, alot of it is the ammount of paeprwork fraud and waste in medicare and medicade,

I certainly do not have a ton of doctor friends, but from i have read most of them will tell you they spend more time filling out forms than actually seeing patients that is backwards.

Maybe we will be better off when medicare and medicade goes belly up. obamacare goes under and do go back to a totally free market health insurance system.

But should we not really consider ways to get spending down across the board? Think about issues at all and say well if goverment must get involved now what role should it take exactly?

Hell just make doctors lives easier in general and get them back to seeing patients.

        • TheOriginalDaveH

That’s what Free Markets would do, Scott.

          • scott miller

Yes but we are what 5 10 years from a economic collapse and it all goes away or 30 to 40 years when they all go bankrupt on their own.

maybe if we addressed the issues with them first and foremost now before it all goes to hell in a a handcart we might be a teeny bit better off.

And we all know that unless we have a violent overthrow of washington they are not going to dismantle medicare and medicade and there is a every better looking chance maybe obamacare at lest will go away. or be heavily modified from its current unconstitutional illegal state.

          • TheOriginalDaveH

Scott, you are correct of course that getting back to Freedom will be a very difficult road, but we have no choice if we don’t want to be a third-world country.
The Progressives worked their devastation slowly over 100 years. We need to learn from them and work to reverse that at any speed possible.

          • scott miller

So i think it is wholly reasonable to ask what within the current framework of systems we have and yes obamacare is still on the table, until it is stricken down, what would be common sense approaches to actually mending the systems we have, short of axing them outright.

And there is a real discussion to be had on the bloatedness of the whole system in general and real reforms that could and should be made there or attempted there before it all goes away.

Are there things we can do to make all theses systems more efficient, less intrusive, streamlined in any way, and i would love to get input of doctors and nurses first and foremost.

We need a bottom up not top down approach obama went big insurance, they were going to walk on the thing entirely without everyone pays. they would never have supported it and they were going to spend big to kill the bill if that was not in there.

If they had a sensible plan in place with the input of the people working within the systems, ways to get costs down and productivity up, ways to stop abuse, they could have gone to the american people with a solid sensible bill crafted to make real reforms to the current system that made sense let them study it and support it or not.

then no amount of money could have killed it no matter how much big insurance would have wanted it politicans would have been skewered.

But no obama went top down all the way and barely bothered to to take any input that did not come with a truckload of money behind it.

          • TheOriginalDaveH
          • scott miller

“Eliminate all subsidies to the sick or unhealthy.”

I so want someone screaming “this is sparta!” when you tell them your going to bascially kill the sick and old off.

Sounds fishily like the obamacare death panels, your too sick to bother you die.

Other than that they make a good argument for no government is good government, deregulate all the way, but deregulation has not always made things cheaper or better i might remind folks also.

It would be a issue that would take a ton of study on both sides would those break downs work in actuality? Would prices really fall or like when at&t got broken up peoples bills mostly went up. you had to shop for the best home plan call on the right hours for the cheaper rates etc etc.

carnegie and morgan made way more money after their companies broke up and i would belive you would find prices went up on all consumers also.

So i would look hard and long before i would commit that hard on that, but we may have no choice sooner rather than later.

          • TheOriginalDaveH

            Scott,
Eliminating the Theft of one person’s money to give to another person is hardly the same as killing them off.
If we bear the responsibility for another person’s health then we, by logical conclusion, also bear the responsibility for their food, shelter, and clothing, the absence of which are life threatening. In other words — Communism.
No man has a natural right to ride on another man’s shoulders, no matter what his predicament.
The point of the article is that Free Healthcare generates Moral Hazard which then creates more demand for those same Healthcare products and either higher prices or shortages leading to rationing.

Scott says — “but deregulation has not always made things cheaper or better i might remind folks also”.
Easy for you to say, Scott, but do you have any examples or evidence to back up your conjecture?
If you examine this ranking of Countries based on the amount of their Economic Freedom, you will see that the most heavily regulated countries are also the poorest countries:
            http://www.heritage.org/index/ranking

          • scott miller

I will wholly agree we are over regulated over taxed and over burdened with an oppressive government that tramples our rights.

I am just saying a totally wild west approach to finances and business in general has proven to create mega monopolies predatory business practices and the like.

Sensible oversight and regulation should be in place to keep an eye that people are not unevening the playing field, abusing workers and etc.

What we have now i would agree stifles business stifles the free markets and stifles investment to an over burdensome degree.

          • TheOriginalDaveH

Scott says — “I am just saying a totally wild west approach to finances and business in general has proven to create mega monopolies predatory business practices and the like”.
            You have been Propagandized, Scott.
There has been no such thing “proven”.
What did happen is that politically-connected competitors used Government to stifle their non-political but more efficient competitors, and the citizens were Propagandized to believe it was for their interest to do so.
You can start here to get an idea what I’m talking about:
            http://mises.org/daily/2317

In this excerpt from Murray Rothbard’s book “Man, Economy, and State”, Murray develops the concept of Free Markets, Monopoly, and Government Controlled Markets, in a rather intense Economist style, but if you get out your dictionary and read carefully it would greatly benefit you:
            http://mises.org/rothbard/mes/chap10a.asp

          • Bill

            Hi Scott,
It is when you put politics into regulation that is when you have a problem.
For example, prior to the community redevelopment act, you had to qualify to obtain a loan to buy a house. When the act was fully implemented, for the politically correct notion of helping the poor obtain houses, the qualifications were reduced, the market went abnormally crazy, it crashed and burned and we are still suffering from it.

          • Eric Bischoff

Just start by repealing the Patriot act so we can at least get back to Innocent until Proven Guilty. Not that difficult. Elect more women.

Dave has convinced himself and would like to convince you that the Progressives have been running this country for the last 100 years LOL.

Conservative RepublicRats have been running this country into the ground and Reagan accelerated the process.

          • scott miller

Regan had his good points and bad but his spending was out of control and amnesty for illegals etc, he was not a flawless conservative saint, He was just ten times better than any conservative we have seen since except maybe bill clinton after his first 2 years ;p.

oh to be pining for the days of bill clinton shudder, but god republican presidents and dems since have better utter trash. clintion for all his faults was smart enough to move hard center and co opt the rebublicans plans for the most part curtesy of dick morris. his foreign policy was a utter disaster and his fbi face palm but lest he was a absolute genius compared to obama and bush, policy smart, loved debating actual policy my god. course he lacked any real soul he was pretty much any way the polling blows kinda guy, but hey he got the bills he was passing at any rate.

          • TheOriginalDaveH

Eric says — “Just start by repealing the Patriot act so we can at least get back to Innocent until Proven Guilty”.
That coming from a numbnuts Liberal Progressive, my first reaction is to wonder if I must be wrong, but of course I would like to see the Patriot Act eliminated.

Eric says — “Dave has convinced himself and would like to convince you that the Progressives have been running this country for the last 100 years LOL”.
LOL? That manipulative tactic only works on brain-dead Liberal Progressives, Eric.
Well, let’s see. Progressives are those who believe that Big Government is the solution to our problems. In 1900 Government Spending was 5% of GDP. Now Government Spending is over 40% of GDP. Yeah, I’d say that’s pretty good evidence that Progressives have been running the country. It sure wasn’t Freedom Lovers who grew the Government to 8 times its former size.

Eric says — “Conservative RepublicRats have been running this country into the ground and Reagan accelerated the process”.
Oh please, ignoramus, Republicans have been the Party of Mercantilism since their inception. They were Progressives before the Democrats jumped on the bandwagon.
Dang, Eric, can’t you do some reading and get educated?

            Thank you, Jana.

          • Eric Bischoff

Maybe you’re the one who needs to read something else besides Mises and Heritage Dave. I’ve read them and their extremely narrow minded viewpoints are not helping you!

The great part about being Liberal is being Open Minded. You and others have mistakenly applied Liberal as a dirty word label to people in power or in mainstream media you don’t like. They may be slightly more open minded to new ideas but I don’t like them either.

As far as I am concerned none of these people are progressives. And that’s where we often disagree. You think they are. And you think they are the ones who have run and ruined this country. You couldn’t be more wrong!

The fact that you would label Republicans as progressives explains a lot about why we disagree so much.

Remember Jack Nicholson. You Can’t Handle The Truth! Especially the truth about what real progressive thinking and ideas are all about. It seems beyond your scope of knowledge and understanding and you ave convinced yourself you know what it is. And for some reason you seem to be terrified of it.

I know what your philosophy is as you link to it in almost every post. Anytime you want to intelligently debate real progressive ideas instead of resorting to name calling, I am here for you.

The bottom line is that the only way to unseat this mediocre, corrupt, bought and paid for by corporation and the wealthy government is for the conservatives and progressives, the voiceless and powerless to come together and try to compromise and agree to work together. Neither side can do it on their own and neither side has only the best ideas needed. The RepublicRats know and count on this and that’s how to remain in power.

Eric says — “I’ve read them and their extremely narrow minded viewpoints are not helping you!”.
Feel free to debate their “narrow” viewpoints with me any time, Eric.

Eric says — “The great part about being Liberal is being Open Minded”.
You joke, right Eric? The readers of this board know that the Liberal Progressives who post here (that includes you) are anything but “open-minded”, hence the usual manipulative techniques including name-calling, ridicule, condescension, argumentum ad hominem, etc.

Eric says — “Here are a few politicians I like”.
Eric the Red suggesting Political Candidates to me — Priceless.

          • Eric Bischoff

Yes it’s true I admit it. I’ve let you upset so much some times that I have stooped down to name calling. I am guilty. But for you to cry about name calling is extremely hypocritical. You’ve been doing it all along on almost every comment. This crowd has absolutely no respect ever for anything left or progressive. Like we are not all Americans living on the same planet part of the same human race.

          • TheOriginalDaveH

That’s disingenuous, Eric, but then what else can we expect from you? My name calling is reserved for those who disparage me first. I know that you Liberal Progressives want your opponents to bring a knife to your gunfights, but you aren’t going to get that from me. If you want respect, then you have to give respect.
I can’t speck for the other commenters, but I don’t respect Liberal Progressives because they are thieves who think they have a right to ride on the shoulders of others and make other people’s choices for them. Why should I respect Thieves and Bullies?

          • Eric Bischoff

            I rest my case.

Your metaphor is funny since most progressives support the right to have guns but usually choose not to have any. We just want intelligent control. But I guess that’s too much control. Any nut job should have a gun and from what we can see many do.

You just admitted that you have no respect because all progressives are liars and bullies. More name calling.

I don’t know why I just expect better from you.

          • TheOriginalDaveH

Anybody who takes the time to slog through your nonsensical comments will see, Eric, just how disrespectful they are.
And what else would you have me call people who Force their way on other people, and help themselves to other people’s money? You are a Forcer and a Thief, Eric. Own it.

          • Bill

            Eric,
Now you are just showing your ignorance

          • Eric Bischoff

Total BS. The Insurance industry’s practice of denying claims, and restricting coverage to only healthy people is your run amok free market at work.

          • TheOriginalDaveH

That’s the best you can do, Eric?
            There is a simple solution — Don’t buy their insurance. I don’t.
Insurance is simply a bet against the odds that you’ll suffer misfortune. You can only win if you suffer misfortune. I’d rather bet, with the odds, that I won’t suffer misfortune. And if I do, I will pay with the money I saved by not buying the Insurance.
If you take care of yourself — eat right, exercise regularly, avoid reckless behavior — you just end up subsidizing the poor behavior of others by buying Insurance. So insurance of any kind (including Socialism, which is just a form of insurance) just creates Moral Hazard. That is — It encourages poor behavior, which results in higher costs.
Insurance companies exist because people are generally risk-averse, but they certainly aren’t necessary. The mess we’re in now is partly a result of Medical Insurance as a result of the Moral Hazard created, but mostly a result of Big Government meddling which has driven Medical Costs sky-high.
The current state of Insurance is hardly a result of Free Markets. We haven’t had anything close to Free Markets for over 100 years. I love how you Progressives muck things up with your regulations, and then blame Free Markets for the mess you’ve created.
Here’s just a small example of the Crony Capitalism rampant in the Medical and Medical Insurance industries:

As usual, you are incredibly full of yourself. I don’t care how care how careful you are about diet and exercise; at some point, you’ll get a medical condition. Autoimmune disorders don’t “pass over” your house because you stay away from potato chips and run 5 miles a day. Certainly, at a societal level, taking care of ourselves will greatly reduce the need for medical care, but at an individual level, it’s largely a matter of luck and genetics. Arthur Ashe was as fit as nearly anyone alive when he suffered a heart attack at age 36. I’ve known people in perfect health and condition who developed Type 1 Diabetes in their 40s.

I am quite proud of being the kind of person who doesn’t use Government to Force my way on other people and take other people’s money — like you do, Jeff.
Dietary habits are responsible for the majority of human illness, Jeff. If you choose to believe otherwise, that’s your problem.
From your own highly-advocated Big Government:

At any rate, Jeff, you have no right to make other people’s personal choices and take other people’s money. To do so puts you squarely in the Aggressor Class along with tyrants, thieves, rapists, killers and other criminals.

          • Jeff

What is amazing is that you take umbrage at being called a Creepy Bastard when you so routinely call others rapists and murderers for simply believing we live in a society where perhaps people have obligations to one another. Even if you are right that anyone with a medical problem somehow “deserves” it, does that necessarily mean we should just let him die?

          • TheOriginalDaveH

Creepy is a subjective term with no real use other than manipulation.
If I call you a Thief or a Forcer, it is because you are, Jeff. Own it. Don’t pretend that you are anything else.
People don’t have obligations with each other unless they freely contract for those obligations. And a contract must be explicitly agreed to by all involved parties.
I never said “anyone with a medical problem somehow “deserves” it”, Jeff. You are putting words in my mouth. Why does that not surprise me coming from a Liberal Progressive?
What I do say is that they do not have a right to make others suffer for their misfortune.
Of course we moral people know that you Liberal Progressives can rationalize any kind of immoral behavior as long as it benefits you.

          • Jeff

You are creepy because you are incapable of rational discourse without attributing the disagreement of others to selfish motives even when it’s obvious that very often it’s not true. There are many who have more MONEY than you who also recognize there is a social contract under which all citizens are entitled to certain basic rights and services. You can claim everyone who disagrees with you “feeds at the trough” all you want, but you are clearly and demonstrably wrong.

While you didn’t specifically say those with medical conditions deserve them, you certainly implied it by saying most medical conditions are related to poor diet. That’s why I placed quotes around “deserve.” And you didn’t answer the question. In a “perfect” DaveH/Ayn Rand/Murray Rothbard world, what happens to a person who develops a medical condition and doesn’t have the money to pay for medical treatment and medications?

          • TheOriginalDaveH

Jeff, the Creep, asks — “In a “perfect” DaveH/Ayn Rand/Murray Rothbard world, what happens to a person who develops a medical condition and doesn’t have the money to pay for medical treatment and medications?”.
You “compassionate” Liberal Progressives would come to their aid with your own money. Yeah sure, and there really is a tooth fairy.

          • Bill

            Eric,
Have you signed up for Obamacare?

          • Eric Bischoff

No I haven’t because my company provides heal care benefits. But they also have been complaining about the escalating and unpredictable cost for decades. And to add insult to injury they never cover any of my alternative health choices.

But at least some people I know with preexisting conditions will now be covered and some won’t stay in dead end jobs just to hold on to their healthcare.

So these are improvements. Some of this is progress.

I would rather have single payer medicare for all.

      • Eric Bischoff

        Disingenuous response.

I assume you read a lot Dave so you must know by now that a bloated govt is merely a natural response to an out of control free market run by greedy people. Unfortunately its human nature.

Corporations and the ruling class in their continuous need for ever more profits have figured out that they could infiltrate the very agencies that attempted to police them when they were polluting, cheating, stealing, monopolizing and they have. It’s called the revolving door policy.

You would like to drown the baby in the bath tub and have business anarchy. Let’s go back to the robber baron era is it?

What we need are impenetrable firewalls between govt and business and some clear laws and stiff penalties. That’s how we will get smaller govt.

In your view, does BP please customers, Is Goldman Sachs pleasing customers? How about Monsanto or Dow are they pleasing customers?

        • TheOriginalDaveH

Eric says — “I assume you read a lot Dave so you must know by now that a bloated govt is merely a natural response to an out of control free market run by greedy people. Unfortunately its human nature”.
Bloated Government is what prevents Free Markets, Eric. Yes, I read a lot, and I think a lot. You ought to try that.
Governments, in fact, have been established historically by ruthless people for the express intent of feathering their own nests and those of their Crony Capitalists. They are the antithesis of Free Markets.
Of course Governments don’t like Free Markets because Free Markets diminish their Power and their Wealth.
You’ve hung around this board long enough to know better, Eric, so my guess is that you do, but you are connected politically to those who suppress the rest of us, so you are here to spread your Propaganda nonsense.
Those readers who would like to better understand the reality of Government should read these 4 volumes by the multi-talented Murray Rothbard:

          http://mises.org/books/conceived2.pdf

          • Bill

            Good comments, Dave
In the free market, when a business fails it shuts its doors. The government is like a cancer that produces nothing, acts inefficiently and continues to grow no matter how much money they lose

the puppet obama,he’s not stupid,he just plays the part well!this man follows the rules of the corperate game to the letter and by far is the worst president that has ever been in the white house, but, remember the power is not who’s fat ass warms the seat!it’s big corperations who run the world!and we,sadly, are the cattle that give these [expletive deleted] money to live the life and have luxury items and be stars and to live the life we all would love to have!we bitch about other leaders of countries but never noticed our own till now(i used to be one)look at where they live and what they live in!what they drive around in!the ability to hang with your favorite star!sports figure!and we pay for them to do it!we are dumb enough to let it happen!he is not that stupid, him saying he didn’t know gives him immunity against all legal action and arrests!any court time is reserved for others that sign on to this corruption that we call a gov’t!!

  • Drake2003

After watching how this president and his administration deals with the everpresent day to day crises that come with the job, I have come to the conclusion anyone could do it. All you have to do is claim ignorance of whatever bad thing comes up, blame your predecessor ( especially for the 1st 4 years) for the problems you said you had the answers to. After getting re-elected for another 4 years then blame the other party, 24/7 for anything that comes up in the 2nd term. Get the mainstream media to continually sing your praises and have them demonize any opposition.
If all goes according to plan, you get paid a healthy salary, and enjoy all the swell things that come with and after you leave the office, @ limousine, luxury jets, free 5 star housing and other goodies just for blaming others and being clueless.
    Only in America…..

Obama has no clue how to run a country. President Lincoln said — You can fool some of the people all the time but you can not fool all the people all the time. Obama has almost made Lincoln a liar. I think the people want to be fooled.

  • 1baronrichsnot1

If I had as much invested as Soros, immelt, GE, Goldman, sachs, Warren, cronies, foriegn powers, and other facist, I wouldn’t let him run anything or know anything either, I would just create a panel to tell him what to do! And by jove, he had better comply, Same goes for hillbillaries!

    • Hey you

You’re probably correct. Some groups who are benefitting have elevated this person way above his competence level and are taking advantage of the situation which they have created.

  • vietnamvet1971

Obozo is just a puppet with his puppet Masters pulling the strings he is there just to do what they tell him. I hope this Lame Duck Turkey FAILS in every thing he tries to do the next 3 years because he deserves it for being the LYING POS he IS!
