Merry Christmas Ben and everyone from Sook Young and I. The picture of Barney was a big turn off. Neeeeed to get a bra there dude. So it seems that the leader, or one of them, of the OWS fleabags has stepped on himself by being arrested for froging names on grant papers. Just another illegal activity added to the list of no-no’s being committed by this unsavory group. Just think, he was a teacher. I hope he didn’t teach history. If he did, I’ll stick my size 10 steel toed boots up a certain part of his body. I’ll let you guess what part. Why in the world would Joe Biden and the libs say that the Taliban are no longer our enemies? Really? Then who the heck is bombing targets in Afghanistan and killing troops? I wonder who has less brains, Joe or Obama bin Laden? I know it’ll be a close race, but I think Joe may be the front runner.

“In the chain of human events, the birthday of this nation is indissolubly linked with the birthday of our Savior.”

    John Quincy Adams 1837

Let’s have a safe and Merry Christmas. Keep Christ in Christmas! FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

P.S. You need love of country and fear of God to be a true patriot.

Merry Christmas to you too Samurai (and your lovely wife and children).

May your next year be filled with possibility.

      John Jay
1st Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court and President of the American Bible Society

“By conveying the Bible to people thus circumstanced, we certainly do them a most interesting kindness. We thereby enable them to learn that man was originally created and placed in a state of happiness, but, becoming disobedient, was subjected to the degradation and evils which he and his posterity have since experienced.

The Bible will also inform them that our gracious Creator has provided for us a Redeemer, in whom all the nations of the earth shall be blessed; that this Redeemer has made atonement “for the sins of the whole world,” and thereby reconciling the Divine justice with the Divine mercy has opened a way for our redemption and salvation; and that these inestimable benefits are of the free gift and grace of God, not of our deserving, nor in our power to deserve.”
–In God We Trust—The Religious Beliefs and Ideas of the American Founding Fathers, p. 379.

“In forming and settling my belief relative to the doctrines of Christianity, I adopted no articles from creeds but such only as, on careful examination, I found to be confirmed by the Bible.”
      –American Statesman Series, p. 360.

The feet most inserted in mouth were the totally fractured factions of the republican party. Where on earth are they coming from? the 99%ers need all the help they can get during these difficult times. To try to tax the middle class alone to pay for a cut in the social security payroll tax is the maximum, cynical, hateful absurdity – these are the working people, eking out a living while the fat cats and money changers continue to prosper and ask for even more, and their Republican enablers try their best to justify ways to make them even wealthier at the expense of the rest of us. At long last McConnell found the intestinal fortitude to tell the cynical whackos to wise up. God willing, they will all be voted out of office in November and we can return to sane and responsible government where one wing nut can’t block any legislation he/she doesn’t agree with. Either we have a government of the majority and consensus, or proceed back to the law of the uneducated and uniformed jungle, as we are currently doing. The next thing I expect to see if this goes on is mandating the carrying of sidearms and their use in the halls of Congress.

      • Buffalo Roam

(Either we have a government of the majority and consensus, or proceed back to the law of the uneducated and uniformed jungle, as we are currently doing. The next thing I expect to see if this goes on is mandating the carrying of sidearms and their use in the halls of Congress.)

Remember one thing, and NEVER FORGET IT!

Our nation is a REPUBLIC, NOT A DEMOCRACY…..

We are a Constitutional Republic of Laws, not consensus, Yes, the Majority has its right, but not at the expense of the Rights of the Minority.

The Right to Your Own Property earned by Your own industry being on of the most important.

        • eddie47d

I will agree that minorities have rights but why does Samurai spend so much time bashing gay minorities. Then again he wants to stick his size 10 steel toed boot up pretty much anybody he doesn’t agree with. So much for the rights of minorities! Bah Hum Bug Samurai and your lump of coal will be FedEx’d shortly.

          • http://naver Samurai

Sheesh Ed, here I come down in my tone and personal attacks for the holiday and you step up your efforts, so who is the grinch now? I have stated many times before I disagree with the lifestyle and they have the rights as any other American. They just want to wave their lifestyle in our faces, parade around looking foolish, and many other things. Stay on subject Ed, before I forget my promise to Sook Young. Remember, a minority is classified by race, religion, or nationality, not perverted behavior. Ergo, they are no minority. You can now go back to sacking Whoville, Mr. Grinch. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

You are absolutely correct – this is not a democracy – the individual has absolutely no rights in the face of any sort of tyranny – economic, political, military, or otherwise. The individual in this nation is essentially screwed particularly in the current political climate. The Republican congressional tyranny has declared that we are a nation of “you’re on your own.” There really isn’t any modern industrialized nation quite like us, with as little concern for the individual. So Tea Partiers, continue to tell your version of the truth, and make damned sure the States control everything including the interstates, the air space, the banking systems, passports, etc. etc. I want to make sure that when you travel, guys, you have to pass customs inspection, automobile title and insurance documents, passports, immunization documentation, and the like, at every state border. Better yet, guys, just stay home and don’t bother the rest of us and you won’t have to worry about all of this. Your time was 1600, not 2012, so live that way please and give the rest of us room to breathe.

          • http://naver Samurai

Ah yes, another pack of lies, rhetoric, and innuendo from a misguided lib. Another pop up target. So you are saying that if we went back to following the Constitution and the wayswe were founded, you would have no room to breathe? Good. Maybe then you’ll leave and let the patriots continue to try to get this country back to our Christian founding and the Constitution. You name shouldn’ be skip, but Scrooge. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

        • just offal

Um….yeah think about what you’re saying for a minute and then decide if you want to rephrase that.

If the Majority rules then what exactly does that mean for the minority? Right….they don’t get what they want annnnd that comes at their expense.

Really…you should examine what you write before you post it.

          Just sayin’

          • http://naver samurai

The rights of the minority are protected in a Constitutional Republic. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

        • Sheldon

We the people have the opportunity to vote the end of the Federal Government if we so choose. I think it is time we voted to close/cancel the Federal Government. They read the Constitution again and maybe close all the unnecessary departments. Here in the State of Washington, we have three superintendents for each school district, One at the state level, One at the regional level and one at the local level. They have made themselves important but they suck the life out of the education of the students. Time to keep the money locally and educate all students at their level of ability.

          • http://naver samurai

Care to cite the source of Washington State you used? I thought it would be hard to know something like that living in Korea. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

      • budman

I often do no respond to what a person says because they have a right to their opinion and discussion is good.
What I see in your comments though mystify me. I watch what goes on in Congress almost daily and personally I think you are pointing the finger at the wrong people. What you saw, in fact was a political ploy by this president and the Senate Democrats to get exactly what they wanted. Yes, The house caved but they knew they were going to get the blame anyway and made a bad decision not to hold their ground for a full year extension without consideration of the taxes added to the Housing issue. If they removed one person from the Senate, you would likely see progress in cooperation on the budget. That person is Harry Reid and if you don’t believe it just look the the 33 bills he has rejected for even a vote in the Senate that were passed by the House in the last year alone.
One thing is clear and that is there hasn’t been a budget passed in over three years now so you might ask who has been in charge of both the House and Senate for most of the last three years? The Democrats do not want to make any concessions on reducing the budget and those people you refer to are the one attempting to reduce spending. Of course, this is not popular with the majority of the public because we are spoiled and the reason many are against Republican efforts to do so.
The reality is and it is coming soon that there won’t be any money to borrow and no money for all these benefits we love so dearly. Whose side will you be on when the benefits stop? Will you still be pointing the finger at the Republicans or at the Democrats who put us in this situation? This administration has spent more and poured more money down the drain that the last five administrations. How many of us can say our bottom line has improved in the last three years rather than just the opposite.
I believe that most will say their bottom line has taken a great hit and afraid of what the future holds but do not want to sacrifice for the good of everyone and this country. It may already be too late and the result of a sorry administration and a business as usual Congress.
They blame that tiny group for trying to do the right thing and time will soon prove them right.

        • dfinch

I have a lot of concern why the democrats don’t see what this man is doing. The republicans have stuck their necks out for everyone not just their party. Boehner wanted a year extention. Obama wanted a year extention. Reid wouldn’t give in. When did Reid ever go against Obama? Never. To me it was a blatant setup. For Boehner to stand firm it put his speakers job in jeopardy. What do the democrats not understand about too much spending? The money is almost gone. Obama is getting ready to add another $1 trillion to the deficit. There is nowhere else to borrow from. The Chinese are having issues. Where do we go when there is no more money to be borrowed? The republicans are expecting this to happen but the democrats don’t see anything happening. We can not spend our way out of this.

      • http://personlibertydigest personallitycrisis

Well said, I also agree that the entire republican clan has to go and not to leave out those gutless democrats in order to possibly move forward. And as for bozo Ben he is a circus freak.

Jn reply to post , “You can be for God or country, but you cannot be for both..” A history lesson is needed here..If the almighty creator had not had his hand on the creation of..That being the case you cannot separ this country..We would be still under rule of kings and snobbish queens of England..You cannot live in a free country, enjoying the rights and freedom contained therein without giving our mighty God credit for it..It was bibical principles, the word of God that this country was founded upon..The source of my remarks are found in The Constitution of the United States of America… That being so, you cannot separate the two..You could not have the country without God’s hand being in it..Happy New Year..May God forgive the moral sins of this nation and it’s leaders Bless her, ‘again.’

“And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Ceasar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. And the taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria. And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. And Joseph also went up fom Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem. Because he was of the house of David. To be taxed with Mary is espoused wife, being great with child. And so it was, that while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her first born son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And lo, and angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them; and they were sore affraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day, in the city of David, a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. And it came to pass as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which has come to pass, which the Lord hath made known to us. And they came with haste, and found Mary and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And whn they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. And all they that heard it, wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.

Yes, that post has been made countless times. Doesn’t burst anyone’s bubble. A day that was set aside to celebrate Christ’s Birthday. It doesn’t matter what day was chosen only that a day was chosen and is Celebrated—

        • leefromok

          Celebrate his birth “every” day!

        • moonbeam

That’s not what God says to do. You cannot follow God and mammon. For you will love the one and hate the other.

God says do not follow their ways. Christmas was celebrated long before Jesus was born. It is an old Babylonian pagan festival holiday that has nothing whatsoever to do with Christ.

You guys better start reading your bibles and listening to God more more and listen less to these preachers. They have been deceived too. God warns us to not be deceived and to beware of false teachers.

Show me in the bible where it says Jesus was born on Dec. 25th? And show me where God specifically said to celebrate it as His Son’s birthday? That is man’s BS it is not of God. You guys better read your bibles. Home Boy is right!

YOUR EXACTLY RIGHT….and the pagan god was Thor…..Oh, I bet there are alot of Believers here who celebrate the Pagan Holiday–Halloween(witchcraft) People take your eyes off man and put them back on GOD…READ THE BIBLE FOR WHAT IT SAYS AND REALLY STUDY IT AND YOU WILL UNDERSTAND ALOT BETTER. Biggest 2 lies ever told where: Santa Claus which is a pagan god – Thor….and #2 Stick and stones will break my bones and but words will never hurt me. The tongue is a murder weapon…GOD BLESS US ALL…WE ARE ALL SINNERS

          • Big Mike

Moonbeam, “Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s” (Matthew 22:21). Who really cares WHAT the exact date is! Calendars are a human invention and a totally arbitrary tool for keeping time. Today is the 10th of Tevet, 5772 if you’re Jewish, and 350 days from doomsday to the Mayans.

Early Christians selected the December date celebration to coincide with the Roman feast of Saturnalia, a time when everyone else was partying, so they could fly under the radar and not be fed to the lions. Pretty simple.

And speaking of calendars, Christmas is tomorrow (January 6) if you’re Russian. Merry Christmas, Boris and Natasha!

You seem to think those of who have read the bible didn’t know this? This is not new news.

      • http://yahoo Lynda Doyle Rodriguez

You are right about the, ‘time period,’ of Christ’s birth..The time of his birth is not why I celebrate Christmas..I celebrate it because He was born..God left His throne on high, came to earth in the form of a new born baby..Man needed a savior..Jesus came to reunite ALL mankind,(womankind also) with His Father God..God is a Spirit..He needed a body..He created Jesus Christ in the womb of a young Jewish girl..A virgin, named Mary..He showed the world his love, he taught moral values..And at 33 he went to the cross, taking upon himself the sins of the whole world, those living at that time and those who come in down through the ages..His shed blood was his gift to me..To all who will accept it..That is what Christmas is about…He desended into hell, grabbed the keys of death and hell from devil and Rose again three days later..He sits on the throne today on the right hand of his father..Praise God for that precious gift! When on earth Jesus did not celebrate , ‘Christmas,’ he celebrated haunkkah..The point is that God sent his only begotten son into the world..John 3;16 and John 3;17..So that all those who would believe upon his name, shall be saved..Think of how Christmas is spelled..the first five letters..C.H.R.I.S.T. Happy New Year..

I am sitting here with a full heart and wet eyes! Just the THOUGHT of the REAL reason we celebrate today is beond comprehension! WHY in the WORLD would a father “sacrifice” his only son for such a mixed up
world? Obviously over-looked? HE LOVES US! THINK for a moment!
In the Old Testament, God had Laws that when they were obeyed, reaped wealth. It didn’t matter what your PERSONAL life consisted of as long as you obeyed his laws! Read the Old Testament and you will find a God who would not tolerate the least bit of veering from his commands! Hundreds of thousands, some innocent, felt the power of his wrath! I believe that he saw how much people FEARED him, but did not LOVE him! His decision on what to do to PROVE he loves us, transcends ALL miracles performed in the Bible! His power was so great that he couln’t comprehend being human to better understand them! That is exactly why he chose to become part human through his son Jesus! Jesus was born in the same manner that EVERY person has been! He wanted to “began life” as part human to SEE how we responded to a totally different God from the Old Testament! In place of WAR he taught tolerance. In place of HATE he taught love. In place of resentment he taught forgiveness! In the New Testament his primary message through miracles, sermons, instructions and guidlines was “I LOVE YOU”! “I KNOW your pain because I have experienced it as YOU do”! Temptation, frustration, impatience, I have dealt with them all! But I have a message of hope to bring to you”! I will take your SINS upon MYSELF and “die” in your place so that you will KNOW without DOUBT that I love you and YOU will LIVE”!! “How can you LOVE and FEAR me at the same time”? “Just as you do your EARTHLY father”! You LOVE him because you know he LOVES you”! “You FEAR him”! Not because of what he DOES to you, but what he has the POWER to do”! “I will give my life for you if you will let me live in YOURS”! Beginning his earthly life as an infant, growing up as part God and human, gave him a better understanding of what is in the “hearts” of his children! As for ME, I do not look for an earthly gift, but the HEAVENLY GIFT of our precious Lord which will never be found in a local “yard sale”, unused! Merry Chrismas to the WORLD! May the coming year bring peace, joy, and most of all LOVE!

BOW YOUR HEADS–Thank you God for sending us a man of Bill Clinton’s character, intelligence, knowledge of governance, ability to face up to crises without whimpering and a great leader of the world.

    • Bev

Clinton’s name to fame was the beginning of the end for Fannie Mae because he was the one who started all this “look the other way” position to give minorities a mortgage and he and Reno threatened the banks with fines if they didn’t create mortgages for just these people. They got mortgages okayed by Fannie and Freddie when they had lousy credit, a history of not paying their bills and in some cases no income qualifing. Clinton also let a great part of some of the VA hospitals got to rot with leaking roofs, rodent infestation to the point they had to move the Vets. So while you are praising Clinton try looking at his nonaccomplishments also. I not saying Bush was perfect but he did the best he could with a Democratic controlled house and senate.

      • bob wire

Well, no Madam, It was Reagan that started the ignore and look the other way business and it continued under Clinton and to this day.

Now you can make the case that Reagan laid the ground work for Clinton’s success if you wish. But in doing so you also are accepting that one administration success and short comings are greatly reflected in the successor and this is something that you wish to take away from Obama’s administration.

So You might not wish go there and open that door, for I would welcome it.

Answer this genius does a used car salesman add value to any particular vehicle on the lot or does he add value to the dealership. The inherent value of the vehicle doesn’t change, if the dealership begins purchasing lemons and relying on salesmanship to foster sales eventually bad reputation will overcome all attempts to boost sales and the dealership will experience declines just like our markets did. During the serious decline after ENRON which committed their FRAUD by using your saviour willy clintons administrations provided market financial reporting and after 911 attacks the markets sank to below 7000 and only then in the midst of a serious “come to Jesus moment ” the finest market analysts opted to speak truth when pressured to reveal just how much actual value walstreet really had they admitted somewhere just shy of 7000. That means hard assets if dispersed in a firesale you will get around that amount for all physical holdings if you aren’t too deep in debt (we are in pretty deep) so as I see it our markets that were once based on real numbers and analytical data reguarding everything from growth of country to individual coperate leadership are now being traded more like futures traders , looks like some more wealth is about to be stripped from a bunch of unsuspecting greedy traders.

Some people will believe anything that fits into their vision of what they want their Hero to be. If you tune a guitar string you can make it sound the way you want it to sound. His adoring media never reported how he achieved “so called” magnificent results. Sometimes, with some people, when you see a clean carpet you will find the real truth burried beneth it. I would offer to loan you my rose colored glasses but you have your own.
P.S. I like Bill Clinton as a person but he should have been named Jacob the deceiver. His whole life seems to have been about how to make himself and his life seem to be something more than it is/was.
      Merry Christmas.

Dow Jones increased from 3,500 to 11,800 while Clinton was President: One of the most common logical fallacies is assuming that two simultaneous events are the result of cause and effect when they are likely just coincidental without concrete demonstration of a relationship.

Consider yourself challenged, comrade c. Now that you’ve had 3+ years to ‘compare and contrast,’ I’d like the answer to a specific question. In your own words, was Bubba Clinton America’s first black prez, or does that honor belong to Bubba Obama?
It’s hard to tell, as you’ll get at least two different answers each time the question is put forth. OK, Mr. Writer, give us the full benefit of your wisdom in matters ‘presidential.’

      • Big Mike

        sc says:

In your own words, was Bubba Clinton America’s first black prez, or does that honor belong to Bubba Obama?

Answer: neither! Clinton is 0% black, and 0bama is only 50%. If one were to invoke the “one drop”rule, 0bama would be the 6th (semi) black president, after Jefferson, Jackson, Lincoln, Harding, and Coolidge. Maybe 7th, if you include Eisenhower. Do the genealogy and see for yourself.

Not to hip on religion, protection of self, family, and country. People are putting to much faith, in faith alone like something other than themselves can save them, if you protect you,you can protect family & country. The men on the hill you put your trust in care not about you or what you suffer as long as it is not affecting them.

Hi, its that South African again,

I have had very little to contribute to your discussions as you are preparing for Presidential elections next year. I do, however, still enjoy all the discussions and have at some times thought that what is going on in your country is also happening in mine. There is one theme that is consistent in all countries, except for those with no religious freedoms and it is Christmas. I wish all, whether you believe in Jesus Christ and the salvation that he brought through His death and resurrection, a blessed Christmas and a very prosperous and changed new year.

Why must God be feared? because it is written? You were told so?

How can you fear something that you say that you love?

This is fundamentally flawed thinking and make no sense what so ever.

And Ben, I would think that any man or woman that would aspire to command the most powerful nation this world has ever known would equally think well of him or her self. Bashfulness and modesty would be their “short suit”. As we are just days away from a another election year, you will hear much more of it and not just from Obama.

As little as Cain had to offer, he seemed rather ~ inflated and in total awe of himself while you made no mention of it.

It’s no brag if it’s true Ben. And what is Saltmoss Productions as my search finds it more a round robin of self validation, one large loop that ends where it starts and I’m left none the wiser? It is not listed with Standard and Poors.

“Ben Crystal is a 1993 graduate of Davidson College and has burned the better part of the last two decades getting over the damage done by modern-day higher education. He now lives in Savannah, Ga., where he has hosted an award-winning radio talk show and been featured as a political analyst for television. Currently a principal at Saltymoss Productions—a media company specializing in concept television and campaign production, speech writing and media strategy—Ben has written numerous articles on the subjects of municipal authoritarianism, the economic fallacy of sin taxes and analysis of congressional abuses of power.”

Blessed are the peacemakers and caregivers among us. May they find just reward in this world and the next.

    • bill watson

God is not to be feared like a person ready to destroy or harm you. This “fear” means reverence, or love. Think about it, if you TRULY loved someone would you want to harm or see them harmed in any way.
For GOD so loved us that he sent his son, with son’s ok of course,in other words JESUS consented to do this because he loves us so much,to save us from destruction and an eternal hell. He did say to do certain things or this is the punishment, or this is what will happen to you if you don’t, just like a parent would do their child.

      • bob wire

I see, then why don’t they just say what they mean?

Reverence does not require fear. It like reverence is being extracted rather then given.

    • jerry sweet

bob wire this is for you.if a sound mind cant fear God because of His mighty power, then that mind is not sound but is flawed.reverence to God is one reason we are here,to bring him glory thru the sacrifice of His Son.JESUS CHRIST.the bible states that only a FOOL says in his heart there is no God.HELL was made for two groups of people.satan and the angels that fell with him,and humans who reject HIM of eternal fire, again JESUS we know how well human intellect is winning the war on stupidity, just look at the FLAWED logic in washington.merry CHRIS-oops merry x-mas in your case??just a we were made from dirt and God can live in FIRE,now thats logic!!

      • bob wire

Well thanks for your input Jerry and your explanation.

As for myself, I reject fear or to be intimidated. Some people run from pain while some run to it. Myself, I ignore it until I can’t and then run to it, seeing it as something to get beyond.

To suggest the creator of the universe and all that is in it demands your fear is well over the top and superfluous by it very nature and borderlines sheer absurdity.

A poor choice of words. We are all dieing and will drop the human form, when and how is the only unknown, but I am not living in fear and I’m not going to waste precious time in a fret over some persons poor wording skills.

Glad we had this little chat.

        • jerry sweet

my,my,a self discribed intellect.the pain you will suffer in Hell you will never run from or escape from.oh and you are so wrong about death.there is a physical death, but your soul and spirit will not only live forever but in hell everthing you did in life will go around in your mind thru out eternity.just another downside of the punishment of have been warned!!.hows that for poor wording skills.i’ll admit it is hard to get thru human intellect,Gods been trying for about 6 thousand it really my poor wording skills or is it that you just hate the you keep running!

          • Karolyn

jerry – I am so glad I do not share your beliefs! Having to be so afraid all the time was what turned me from Christianity – that I had to worry about what I thought, read and believed; could not doubt or question; and had to tow the line otherwise I would burn in hell.

          • eddie47d

I exposed biker Jerry’s come to Jesus moment last week and that he has alot of praying to do in order to squeeze threw those pearly gates. He was actually rather civil today in comparison but still he is very similar to i41.

At least i41 used spelling check and had his punctuation nailed down better. i41 “expletives” tended to be original too. Here I am complimenting the devil.

What is this 6000 years stuff? Do you also think the earth is flat? And is the center of the universe? And that sun rotates around the earth? And that God’s time is not daylight saving time? And dinosaurs were placed in rocks to fools us some 6000 years ago? And that scientists are just people who know something?

          • bob wire

Skip, this bunch is attempting to inject their brand of God matters into politics. The is only one brand you know, Their Brand.

We walk on a slippery slop here. This agenda of theirs is not spoke of by the candidates or on a national level but only in veiled terms. Much like Hitler veiled plans for the impure blood lines and Jews in his 6 years rise to prominence and final leadership of Germany. They wait until they gain office to spring the “big surprise”.

Or another more current example of their cloaked intentions in their rise to position would be (tea party) Governor Walker of Wisconsin. It was only after he gained the position of power that unveiled his ideas about social equity and rewarded corporate interest with large blocks of cash while attempting to make up the spending by attacking public workers unions and working people in general and devalued labor, the product that working men and women must sell on the market place.

So why bring up something 6000 years old? Because they fly this Christian Banner and secretly working to encroach and blur the line between church and state matters.

Liberals & progressives according to many of them is the devil reincarnated. Obama is the Anti Christ.

This is why, that I have steered the debate to the topic, it’s was not very hard to do. I know the subject rather well and where the hot buttons are. And too, I have a genuine interest in their thoughts regarding Faith Worship, Christianity and when their responsibilities begin and end.

For the most part, these faithful believers of God have humanized God. God is a human and they relate to him as being human. They believe in the Trinity, the Triad. The father, son and holy ghost and all that implies in manifestations of the spirit.

This is the standard garden variety Protestant, with each brand holding claims unique to it’s founders.

Then we have the Evangelical arm of the Christian faith. This is the more up “in your face” military side of the faith and carry their “righteousness makes right” like it was a “Get out of Jail Free” card. They are their brothers keeper even if he doesn’t want them around. They tend to force their will on others claiming that it for their own good. They are willing to do what ever is necessary in the name of the Lord and claim it as “God Will”

You need to know such things Skip for they are coming. ~ A few of them is perhaps good, but a government dominated by such people would be the end to America and what we understand a freedom today.

          • Karolyn

eddie & bob – i41 was banned some time ago after being warned by Bob Livingston about his language. He had his 3 strikes.

        • Karolyn

Love it, bob! I find that I am more afraid of little things than the big picture. Actually, the big picture gives me comfort because it puts things in proper perspective. Why on earth would God want us to be afraid? Many think the fire and brimstone preachers are the way we need to go. That’s ruling by fear, which is too prevalent in this world as it is. My understanding of God is nowhere near the Christian’s concept and is much more comfortable and logical for me. It allows us to be who we are because we were made that way and to have no fear of repercussion from “God”. The only thing we need to fear is what we bring upon ourselves through our beliefs and actions (the energy we put out) and it is all in perception. Death is but another chapter in life, when the spirit is freed to return…or not. The fact that I and others who believe as I do really DO BELIEVE that is simply unfathomable by those who believe otherwise, and they feel the need to push their beliefs on us. I like to open the door, but I never push anyone through and stay away from arguing religion because they get really pissed off. Phew! So much for my rant! Merry Christmas, bob!

          • jerry sweet

you dont want to answer to a God who will make you be accountable.listen to every one out there in stupid land.they were created by the same God as i was and he makes the comfortable in your feel good mentality.look around the world is going to going to trust bob wire then. i think not.and why did you wish me a merry Christmas the other day, when i was sooooo mean to dont even believe in God .short term memory or what?

          • Karolyn

jerry, jerry, jerry, why so angry? I never said I didn’t believe in God; however my concept is different than yours. To me Christmas is a time for good will, even to you when you mock me and put me down. I do not hate anyone, nor do I wish harm to anyone, as it should be.

          • bob wire

and merry Christmas to you Karolyn, I missed you yesterday ~you must be busy with Christmas doings. ~ Just thought I’d let you know that you was missed.

            bird of a feather

PS, yea I’m not buying into all (or at least some) of the “religious hype”. When I bother to take the time to explore and ask self proclaiming Christians questions, some seem rather annoyed by it, but then some don’t. I enjoy the ones that don’t.

Bill Watson response was that of a practicing Christian, most gracious, offering his insights and well received. I would listen to such a person. While Jerry Sweet felt under attack and elected to attack me with attempts to label, debase and condescend. So which man truly walks in the shoes of Christ and more deserving my attention? LOL! ☺

I refuse to live in fear! It’s not complicated. And God does not demand or request fear (regardless what you have read)but only to except your origin, the Divine. How could anyone not?

Whoever elected to use the phrase “fear God” was addressing a particular audience that required hash language and 2×4 to get their attention. This language is not for “everyone” but for “them” and not necessary to be repeated over and over again and again. This is a perfect example as to how religion looses it way and get all screwed up, perverting the true message and intent of the “WORD”

If you embrace life, so too must you embrace death, for it is promised you that you shall never die, fear is to suggest you question and doubt. Do you?

“Walk by faith and not by sight”

Okay, you say “your understanding.” A god you made up yourself that you are more comfortable with? Sorry, but that ain’t gonna cut it.

You are doing exactly what God says not to do. Do not lean unto your own understanding. You skipped over the parts you don’t like and gathered together the warm and fuzzy stuff and Voila, you got your own religion and your own made up god. Good luck with that.

You can call us buffet Christians if you wish in that we pick and choose what makes sense, separating folk lore from personal accounts, consider the sources, collaborating data, the context, in what climate and time frame the text was written, the motives, and to whom the text was originally written to.

Now you can judge us and fault us for that if you wish, but then again you where told by this same text, ~ as you judge other, so too shall you be judged.

May I suggest that you judge kindly on us today?

Sirian – I am not familiar with ACIM.

          • Karolyn

moonbeam – All concepts of God are “made up” by man. God is certainly not a big man in the sky with a long white beard as we are taught at an early age. I believe that God is universal intelligence, that we are all parts of a whole called God.

          • Sirian

What I was referring to, ACIM, is “A Course In Miracles”. From the description of your understanding and the belief that you hold an apparent leaning towards the same basic perspective/principle, plus much more, is too provided within ACIM. Please don’t take me wrong, it is a very helpful source in explaining a perhaps very rewarding view of God and yes, the universal side also. But, each to his/her own, whichever may be most satisfying, easing to that individuals mind. Long white beard or otherwise – HA, that’s always been a really good one. :)

Or, did you create yourself? Reminds me of a joke I heard..It was a contest between God and a man of science..He bet God that he too, could take a little dirt and create man..God laughed, “Okay. but first create your OWN dirt.”If you don’t believe in ‘something,’ you will fall for anything.’ Words of wisdom said from the pulpit of pastor, Dan Keen, where I was attended church..

this is how omnipotent he is. he knew me millions of years before i was ever born.he waited until the right moment to reveal my need for him and the day he did i jumped all over it.i now have an internal peace that humans without it cant comprehend.let the nukes come i just yawn.GOD is still on His throne

          • talkinbout

If God is omnipotent, he would know the future, therefore he would know which angels would betray him before he even created them. So why did he create them anyway. Same for you and me. If he knows everything we are going to do before we are even born, he would also mknow who was going to hell and who was going to heaven, so why not, only, create the ones who were going to be with him in heaven?

If God knew about you a million years before you were born, how could that be if he only created the universe 6000 years ago? In that case how do you determine that a million years had past?

Not questioning God, questioning religion. Religion has ruined Christianity.

          • ValDM

The one thing you’ve left out of your argument (which makes said argument unable to stand) is the fact that God created His beings with free will; to be able to make choices. Satan & all the other angels who fell were creatures of free will & made the choice to try to compete with God. Same thing with humans who refuse to accept God’s most gracious gift of salvation. BTW, Christianity is NOT a religion, but a RELATIONSHIP with the precious Son of God. Without Jesus, we would still be bound by the law of Moses & having a fairly remote connection to God. With Jesus we can draw nearer the throne for He is our advocate to God the Almighty Father.

          • talkinbout

Re: valDM, you missed my points. I understand the free will thing but that’s not what I’m talking about. I’m saying that God, being omnipotent and therefore able to see the future, would know what you are going to do with your free will before you did anything. And, because he could tell the future, He would already know whether you, with your free will, were going to heaven or hell before you were born.

I didn’t call Christianity a religion. I said religion ruined Christianity. If you follow the Golden Rule through out your life, you will keep all of the Ten Commandments and live a Christian life.

          • http://naver samurai

Sorry talkinbout, but with our free will we can also change that path we are currently taking with God’s help. Ergo, we can change from bruning in hades to being with him in paradise. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

Re: Sorry Samurai, regardless, whatever you do or are going to do, or how many times you change direction or “change that path” no matter if it’s with Gods help or not, God knew about it before you were born. Omnipotent is omnipotent. God can tell the future as to what you and your free will is going to do. How is it that you can’t understand the concept?

          • http://naver samurai

I’m not arguing about whether God knows or not. I’m saying that since he is constantly calling us to do his will and change our lives, it is possible for us to go to heaven and not hades. Is this clear enough for you? FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

bob wire writes: “Why must God be feared? because it is written? You were told so?

“How can you fear something that you say that you love?

“This is fundamentally flawed thinking and make no sense what so ever.”

Tell me, bob, when you were a child, were you not the least bit afraid of your parents? Were they not awe-inspiring? Did you obey your parents without questioning their decisions? Were your parents the final authority in your home?

I can remember that when I was a child, my parents were always in charge. They were the ultimate authority in my home. We children were not allowed to do certain things because we were told that we were not allowed. Sometimes no specific reason was given. To disobey meant a punishment, most often a spanking. (As we became teenagers, the punishment was grounding.)

So it is with God. My Lord God loves me beyond measure, but I must obey Him. Yes, I am afraid of Him and His awesome power over me. I do as I am instructed because I do love Him and I trust him implicitly because I know he loves me. He is the final authority over my life and what I do or don’t do. As I was afraid of my parents, I am also afraid of my Lord God. It is not a terrified fear; it is a love-based fear, the same fear I had of my parents.

      Do you understand now?

Merry Christmas, bob wire, to you and yours!

      • bob wire

And a very Merry Christmas to you and your Ms.Ann and thanks for taking time out of your day to chat with us/me today.

So what you are suggesting is that such wording as “fear God” are spoken in metaphor context? well it certainly doesn’t come across as metaphor but darn near a commandment.

To afford you a view inside my head, I “feared” and hated my father because he was mean to me when no one was around to see, he slapped, jerked, threw me about and pulled my hair.(for what, I can’t remember) a three year old child memory has gaps. By 6 it got worse, not spanked but whipped, flogging for simply not remembering the word “Spot” during my read aloud home assignment, several times in one day. I guess the fear overwhelmed my ability to remember ( I hated that damn dog too).

Over the years, I did forgive he, but I never loved him if that is what you are getting around too. He had my respect and obedience but never my love. He died the 16th of this month at 84 and I shed not a tear. I feel ~relieved and sad but there was no love lost.

On the other hand, I held no fear of mother or grandparents and I loved them, worshiped them and worked to please them.

So I’m suggesting to you that the fear factor is not necessary if you desire be loved and your will complied with. If that is what this author is attempting to covey, he could do well to find another way of saying it.

So while I understand you analogy and it make perfect sense. Does not my story also make sense? Perhaps Fear does not work on me as it does you or others as it only brings forward hate, anger and deep resentment. So I have learned to live a fearless life, I respect but have no fear as I can’t allow fear to creep into my mind, it would destroy me. I dislike rage and what rage does to people.

If I am one such person, I would think there are many others like me,~ that such words as fear bring forward a flood of hostilities.

I think it would be better and much wiser if people said what they mean and mean what they say, rather then all this mumbo jumbo, repeating words and phrases spoken by authors often uncertain, to a more primitive man in less civilized time, context not always considered, in metaphor one minute while demanding verbatim interpretation the next and somehow expect or ever hope to get their message across.

The Divine is not that complicated, It’s everything that you know and everything that you don’t.

This is only my view from where”I”stand and I’m not attempting to promote it but I do enjoy the opportunity to discuss such concerns. As this topic has long been a quandary of mine and you have helped me see ~ sorta, at least I see where you are coming from.

GOD will punish your earthly father.unless he repents.if i graded God the same as the monster i had for an earthly father i would probably hate him also.HE is a very loving Father who will never leave or hurt or disapoint you .but you first have to go from wicked, condemed to die at birth.for the gift of Salvation Christs death gave so called parents would have been more merciful to me had they of killed me as a young boy, than what i went thru.thats their fault, not Gods.He allows stuff, painful stuff to get our attention pointed to him.dont let the bastard who raised you keep you from heaven that you have shared something painfull i get a different pic of i heartfeltly ask you to forgive me.i believe in what i do ,but i know i can be harsh.God is still working on me too.

        • jerry sweet

i too live a fearless life bob,no flesh would ever hurt me again.i became my own worst enemy.i had a rep of taking on all comers.i lived by one retreat, attack, attack.i was told i had a death i had a desire to not allow myself to ever be hurt by a man or a fact the more i had to fight the more i liked the odds.i wouldnt pack, because i didnt want a gun to be used by me to stop an attack.i was blown thru a door with a 41 magnum, and i was told they knew i was plan failed.GOd had other plans for me.i live now in complete peace.i revere God just because of his power and His youngest brother was shot dead in a drug deal gone bad,my other brother was shot 3 times in one fight and lived.he died running from the cops.iam the eldest of 4 and iam the only one left.dont let what your earthly father did to you keep you from stepdad and my mother were so brutal to us kids,it would have been more merciful to murder us as children.i also grew to not hate, but i wwalked away.they too have to stand before God,who promises to make all things favorite pastime was beating bullies to death ,i was always stopped but i wanted them dead.i discovered the more i did stupid the fear was there.but when i felt it ,it made me even more dangerous.i found true peace.i pray you will too.i do mean ithe apology.i wasnt too kind.

Sorry Bob, but to fear God means to respect him, love him, and to know what he can do as God. It doesn’t mean trembling in your boots. Faith is a good thing, but faith without works doesn’t get you anything. You views are about half on target and half off. It’s the second half that will have you fall short of God’s Kingdom. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

      • bob wire

Yea, that’s what I’m being told Samurai,

Well, the important thing is to get the message, a clear message and that takes saying the same thing many different ways so “everyone” get it. ~ I’ve always had problems with that one.

and Merry Christmas to you and your bride.

        • cawmun cents

I believe the word the folks here are looking for is reverance.
Our veneration of God comes from the inner fear of what life without His presence would be.
We have all(at least those of us who came to know God better later in life),lived without God’s presence before. This is why we have a comparison to go by.Had we not lived without His presence in our lives(not that He was not there all along, rather that we did not acknowlege Him in our lives),we would not fear Him being gone from our lives. The fear for us,is that He will leave our presence.
That is what Hell really is.
It is living without God’s presence that we fear.
          Hence our reverance of Him.
We do not fear Him out of what He might do to us.
We choose our own fate.He merely let the conditions be known,by which we might then make a choice.
When we choose to live without Him,we have made that choice for ourselves. He does not send anyone to Hell.
We make that choice on our own. When you choose to live without Him in this life,He leaves us to live the next life the same way.
Why shouldd He want those who decide not to live with His presence,to be in His presence?
He lets them decide and then leaves them to their fate.
So then the fear is not having the presence of God,not that which He will do to us,but that which we decide for ourselves.
          Merry Christmas.

    • vicki

Bob wire demonstrates his knowledge of the bible by saying:
“Why must God be feared? because it is written? You were told so?”

      • bob wire

I suppose that I do Vicky.

You link is no more then other peoples opinions. That’s all,~ no more. People that have humanized God, offering and explaining the obvious. “Big Daddy will/can get you if you don’t comply!”

I understand the”intent” of the “Fear God” statement but it does not stop me from questioning it or resenting it. This is just one of many attempts made by biblical text to humanize God for a simpler people’s understanding with a reflected ego of self.

This “humanizing” of the Divine creates problems and inarticulate illusions and understanding of God in people minds that seem to be impossible to remove once installed and yes, I do take exception to it and see it as harmful.

        the question would be?

Are you a human, capable of having a spiritual experience?

Are you a spirit, having a human experience?

This is a, which came first, the chicken or the egg question with only one clearly correct answer.

I personally believe that we should not create a god in our own image as we were created in the image of the Divine.

You have but three choices, understand that you are Spirit and accept it as so or think of yourself as only human with hopes of some rewards if you do certain things Or reject the whole idea and “when you are dead, you are dead like Rover, dead all over.”

If you humanize God with notions of fear and pride and matters of man, you can easily be mislead, limiting your personal potential and stunt your spiritual growth.

You have the power,~ now ~ it can only grow or fade, depending on what you feed it. You should feed it well.

my two cents, ~ Vicky you don’t need my permission to believe what you wish. More times then not, Believing in something is preferable to not believing in anything.

I’m not attacking you or anyone for they personal beliefs.

I only raise concerns, ask questions and share viewpoints. Any attacks or comments will reciprocated only thoughtful response from me.

So, Obama thinks he is one of the four best Presidents ever .OK,why? Because he is the first half black president,so what? What good has he done for the country? All I keep hearing is old, worn out, excuses.”I inherited these problems,I can’t get congress to agree on anything”.As far as a great President, maybe in his mind,as far as LBJ goes can you say Veit Nam?.A situation he inherited and turned it into a mess.

The world economy was stand on the edge of a deep abyss when 44 was inaugurated into office in 99. The wrong action, the wrong move would have been felt world wide and long lasting.

That it didn’t go as bad as it could, you offer no credit.

That 43 prevented another beech in national security and averted any future attacked , we offer credit to him for his efforts and actions.

So for what “Didn’t happen” we pick and choose who gets credit.

I understand. ~ this is called a bias. We need to understand and come to grips with our bias if we wish to understand the landscape as it actually is. Otherwise we are working with just illusions.

      • Alan

Ok – I’m trying hard here to see the difference between the two? These Neo-Cons and Party purists will be the death of us all! Had the Administrations of FDR and since not been so interventionistic and meddlesome, we wouldn’t have to respond/react to anything. Socializing the risk of interventionism in any form (whether militaristic or economic) goes against all the beliefs of the classical Liberals that made up the founding Fathers of this great Nation. I am tired of people trading my Liberty for this false sense of security they are getting from an out-of-control Federal Government. If you need a lesson in how FDR intervened, then look up how his policies where intervening in the aafairs of the Axis powers and what FDR did to scratch his itch for an excuse to enter into WWII.
His direct interventionism and turning a blind eye are what got us bombed at Pearl Harbor. Just like 6 presidents’ administrations before 9/11, the interventionism in the ME coupled with turning a blind eye of foreign dictators led us down the road to 2 bombings e.g 1993 car bomb attempt and then the successful hi-jacking of the air lines. The Neo-Cons are not Liberal at all…. they neither agree with Classical Liberals or Modern Liberals. The Neo-Cons only have special interest at heart, whether it be: Religion on the social right or the myriad of special interest groups on the social left. All of these groups are special interests that have hi-jacked Liberty for their cause. As a Liberterian steeped in traditional values (Yes, Religion plays a part in MY society but not in Liberty), I see all sides of the equation and yes my bias as to what I feel an ordered society should look like drives my social affairs. Liberty only gives us the right, it doesn’t dictate what an ordered society looks like. So, my suggestion would be for everyone to put Liberty first and use the 4th amendment, if it works for you, then do it behind closed doors. Special interest groups be damned! Equal Rights does NOT mean special rights. Maybe a little off topic but the point is, Obama and Bush are birds of a feather: Neo-Cons. One just happens to espouse right-wing whilst the other espouses left-wing. Both have done equal damage to our society and our great country.

Third, has done the most to shred our beloved Constitution. Fourth, has started more wars in one term than any other president. Fifth, is the only president to not say “So help me God” when swearing in. These are historical facts, just not the ones you would want as president. Merry Christmas. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

Like all other Presidents, Lyndon had a weak spot in his hand and played his cards poorly and lost a few hands that created horrific consequences.

Andrew Jackson, was another such man. Today’s American Indians have little regard for 20 dollar bills and I can’t say that I blame them.He was not their friend, he was not their President and brought them only death and misery.

“That Book (The Bible) Sir, is the Rock upon which this Republic rests.”

        Andrew Jackson June 8, 1845

        • bob wire

Andrew Jackson, president, military commander, The Christian that was responsible for the death of 4,000 men ,women and children because of the color of their skin and they “occupied” what he wanted? That Christian?

It’s a good thing he was a Christian, or I guess he’d just shot all 15,000 where they stood like Wounded Knee.

In 1838 and 1839, as part of Andrew Jackson’s Indian removal policy, the Cherokee nation was forced to give up its lands east of the Mississippi River and to migrate to an area in present-day Oklahoma. The Cherokee people called this journey the “Trail of Tears,” because of its devastating effects. The migrants faced hunger, disease, and exhaustion on the forced march. Over 4,000 out of 15,000 of the Cherokees died.

The President during the actual Trail of Tears – when the Indians were moved – was Martin Van Buren and he had a wicked bad general – Jackson was pres when the bill was created and signed. Yes, I do know of Jackson’s earlier Indian activities – he also adopted a very young Indian boy – apparently orphaned – that he found at one of his earlier battles.

The message clearly stated that the men being addressed had to possess good will toward others

Obama is just a heartless, scrooge, as he forgots about the 45 plus million Americans who have no hope, living in poverty or below on food stamps and the 14 million unemployed that have lost all or face losing all they did have, with no chance, as good or bad jobs aren’t available in this bad economy and the countless numbers, who have given up and have stopped looking for work and aren’t even counted in unemployment numbers, none of them will be Merry and won’t even have a normal Christmas………………….

The presidents of the past all represent good and bad in history…..some worse than others…..but this creep in our white house is beyond reproach. We will wake up one day to find these terrorists going door to door confiscating weapons, ammo and our bibles. One other thing to all of you Ovomit lovers……I happen to have all the Harvard year books and Law Reviews from 1979 to present since my husband and his two brothers are graduates. bob wire, you and the “talking chimp” “swinney” are so steeped in ignorance (demo politics) your logic is warped. one (the chimp)keeps repeating figures he or his union produces, completely out of context, (propaganda). all you have to do is check out who had control of congress when clinton was president, clinton was too busy defending himself from raped women to manage the country even though i might add he was ten times better than what we have in the white house now. check the deficits, check who had control of the congress 2006-2010. enuff said. at the moment we have neither a president or a responsible congress. even tho they are still better that the ones they replaced.
chimp, (this is the name you applied to yourself) can you appreciate barry after he and moochella have set an all time record for vacation expenditure (tax payer money) and accomplished nothing other than a phony obamacare health bill, they had to sneak thru the senate. ho ho ho!

chuckb, Merry Christmas to you and yours. :)

    • bob wire

Well, It’s true Chuck, I have “NOTHING” in common with anyone that might believe Sara Palin is remotely bright enough to hold any public office other then dog catcher or that Glenn Beck is anything more that a carnival barker trying to get you to buy a ticket to see the Goat Boy.

      So your point was?

        • bob wire

True! She had her shot at the brass ring and came up with a hand full empty fingers and the process failed to honor her commitment or complete her obligation for reasons not completely clear, placing the state of Alaska and her citizens in somewhat of a predicament. But since they made it without her rather well, I question her true importance in the position to begin with. They hired another dog catcher.

Anyway, they say she makes good chili, I’ll leave that up to Todd. It looks good.

We both know she stepped down due to the libs bringing unfounded lawsuits against her and was costing the state millions. Her stepping down saved the state millions. This has been talked about before, so why do you continue to bring it up? FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

    • bob wire

One minute you are talking about ignorance and the next minute talking about health care reform being “sneaked” though the house and senate.

Is it, that you don’t know the meaning of the word “sneaked” or how the legislative process works or meaning of the word ignorance?

In either case Chucky, why should your political bias be allowed to supersede mine? Because you think that it should? That I should stand down, lay down and permit you to walk over me?

Well, Chucky, I’m sorry to disappoint you but politics does not work that way. You and your elected representatives must seize not only the minute but the day with something beside short three word slogan, “Drill babe Drill” , “Don’t tread on me” ,

This practice of seizing the minute by saying anything that seems to works while losing the day is what your elected officials have made a habit of doing. That it’s not working very well for them, it is them that you need to talk to and not I. Especially in regard to any ignorance that you speak of and wish to throw my way.

Let’s face it Chuck, you enjoy being offended and wallow in misery and harbor great fears of failure. Your prophecy is self fulfilling by the “things” you think. While I might like to Chuck , I can not
help you with ‘this” predisposition to make unsound decisions, leaving me little choice but to oppose you while attempting to “engage you” in civil discourse and contend with your crass and unflattering remarks while you lick your self inflicted wounds.

what makes libs so much fun to pick on is the very nature of the stupidity it involves becoming a liberal itellectual thinker.A_D_D perhaps.if yhey dont like what you have to say ,its the old —sticks and stones— back at dont have to be liberal to reject Christ, but boy it sure helps.libs stand for for everything GOD hates.thats why they hate HIM and those of us who trust HIM.

  • jerry sweet

hi karolyn the other day you accused me of being hateful to eddie47.the reason maybe, you hate the truth so much, you call it hateful.tell that to Christ should you find yourself on the wrong side on the day of went over my head, but you stated you didnt get the anwsers you were looking for from the bible,so you decide to go with reincarnation.WHY in the world would any itellectual anybody want to come back to this mess on earth.a christian,a cockroach, what.with Jesus we are assured of what our destiny people never have a clue.that bible tells you in horrible detail what will happen if you continue on this path of insanity

    • Karolyn

jerry – You believe what you believe and I will continue to believe what I do. I am quite content in how I feel about life, the Universe, death, etc. As far as reincarnation goes, a spirit does not HAVE to come back. Have you ever read the accounts of people who have memories that they could not possibly not have had from another time and place? How do you explain that? The most interesting one is the boy who was a reincarnated WWII pilot who went down during the war. His parents are Christian and did not want to believe it, but even they capitulated. The standard response is that it is the devil. Sorry, I just can’t buy that. Anything that cannot be explained is “of the devil.” God gave us minds to use, and we certainly do not use enough of them.

      • jerry sweet

God gave us very limited dont have to answer to me.iam just a man on a mission to warn whats coming .what you choose to do with it is between you and God.oh he will have the last word.

        • Karolyn

jerry – Why would God make perfect human beings with limited minds? I beg to differ and believe that our minds have unlimited potential. All we have to do is develop them.

          • jerry sweet

like i said you dont have to answer to me.only to die without Christ you die spiritually forever, but you live with a body that God fashions so it wont burn up in the lake of for our human brains.look what thats got us the last 20 years.more and more stupidity

          • jerry sweet

the perfect minds ended when they disobeyed God and ate of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and that point man kind who never knew sin became sin.they died spiritually.Jesus died to enable us to be restored to fellowship with GOD.GODS ways and thoughts are not like ours.He is so far above our minds He created,we dont even register on a other words we are pretty stupid.some, more so than others.

bob wire out of my league.just another of your lib sticks and stones way of dealing with people you cant control.i find you very easy to just keep proving it every time you comment. lib is a lib is a lib.accept want to spew your vile liberal venom but you come back with childish statements.iam way out of my league.lets say you have rooms full of phd’s awards for comentarys, interviews by liberal news or what ever.i call people like you just a bunch of educated liberal common sense at all.iam out of my league, better than to be in yours i stand by what i say,as for your thought provoking banter.quite a few people get a big laugh out of your comments.the truth hurts and causes hate.thats what is spewing from your vile mouth.out of my league.bring it on

      • jerry sweet

crass, combative, stupid,no banter, why bob wire i think you hit on something.i really do despise liberal are not geared to think bob just name call.get on a blog that doesnt argue with your lame know monkey see monkey do.everytime some one comes up with a different point of view you name call.i know a german shepard who appears to have more common sense than any lib ive ever dealt with.out of my league,i still like that one .beats any league your is really lopsided.get a clue at least and run with something besides call people names.

      • jerry sweet

there is no thought provoking talk with people who hate us because we disagree with liberal want it all your way forget about it!you get a life.some common sense.hey how about a little of both

  • Idylewylde

Can’t seem to get by these days without my Great 8 fix to cheer me up.

When you first read the headlines about what the Libs say and do, your mind reels at the sheer magnitude of stupidity and arrogance combined .. I mean, are these guys even on the same planet, much less in the same country as we are?

Then along comes Ben to put it into proper perspective.

Yep .. I need my Great 8 fix .. it cheers me up.

    • JeffH

Idylewylde, yer right of course. The libs just can’t take Ben’s brand of humor which I enjoy even more when their panties get all bunched up. Gotta have a sense of humor to get through life.

      • Karolyn

Jeff – I never get my “panties in a bunch.” I just think he’s not funny.

        • bob wire

There something for everyone I suppose. I fail to see any form of humor in Ben’s work myself, of course you would have to pay me money to endure Don Rickles. Lots of money! but some people must have liked him.

And then there is that goofy guy~ Andy Koufman,~ his humor runs in that same twisted vein. The joke is on “you”. (sorry Andy if you hear me)

To be candid about it, ~I have not had to watch Ben in a while. ~ When he first started the Saturday morning thing, it would automatically run, so you had to listen to it. ~ But now we must prompt it for it to play. ~ Much better!

I have a good sense of humor, From straight men like Bob Newhart to Uncle Milty, to Jack Black and of course who can’t appreciate Jackie Gleason or Carol Barnett and her crazy crew. Humor is not anything new. Political humorist like Will Rogers or Samuel Clement made us laugh when laughing was most needed and in some of our nations darkest hours. I’ve probably read everything written about both men or at least at one time I had.

I’m left thinking that people that enjoy Ben Crystal humor might also like Larry the Cable Guy or Andy Koufman or Don Rickles.

To me, condescending, put-down humor is not funny UNLESS you are very, very good and can first connect with an audience on some common ground. Ben has failed to do that and his jokes miss the funny bone every time, but come across as petty, curt, shallow, vindictive, crass and arrogant.

It wouldn’t matter to whom he directed his humor on, John B., The GOP. Mich McConnell, I would not laugh or think it funny.

I think Ben would be wise to focus on other topics ~ as he speaks of having knowledge or insights of corruption in high place in his BIO. Now that is a meaty topic and worthy a good writers attention.

          • jerry sweet

you libs cant see the humor, because its about you and your stupid logic.which is actually a misnomer because you really are void of real logic

When BamBam struts around with his jacket hung on one finger over his shoulder it makes me think, before he left his quarters, he asked Mooch, “Does this pose make me look masculine?” Nice try there, girly-boy. It’s another failure for you. Too bad, so sad…..

  • JimH

Hi everybody. Time to take a couple of day’s to forget the problems and enjoy ourselves.

Roebin, Hey no bubble burst here, but thanks for trying.

  • jerry sweet

we have busted their ass,had we leaders that would let the boots on the ground do the job, there wouldnt be any terrorist.look at kadafi begging for his life when he murdered so many of his own, thats what murdering cowards do.kill, rape terrorize others in the name of a man made religion.but when they get caught they throw their wives in front to take the fire.real brave.even animals fight cleaner than muslims do.and they are not our enemy, occoording to biden, when they tell us they will nuke us if the opportunity comes up.washington needs a real good dose of common sense.oops, they wouldnt know it if it slapped them we have been stupid to keep voting in these con artists.

    A Christmas Song

    Once in Royal David’s City
    stood a lowly cattle shed,
where a mother laid her baby.
You’d do well to remember the things He later said.

When you’re stuffing yourselves at the Christmas parties,
you’ll laugh when I tell you to take a running jump.

    You’re missing the point I’m sure does not need making;
that Christmas spirit is not what you drink.

So how can you laugh when your own mother’s hungry
and how can you smile when the reasons for smiling are wrong?
And if I messed up your thoughtless pleasures,
remember, if you wish, this is just a Christmas song.

    Merry Christmas to all!

    • jerry sweet

i really like it.some plain common sense!

    • bob wire

Very good Jay, creative. I don’t think that I can beat it, you had me going there for a minute, feeling ashamed that perhaps I hadn’t done enough.

It’s cold out there tonight, I would wish for everyone a warm place and a friendly face. A place to lay, a place to stay and forever out of reach of harms way.

I’m thankful for so many of our soldiers have made it home for Christmas and think of those still out there somewhere tonight, on duty watch, guarding the fence while their buddy’s are in the rack. Or down in the engine room, making their rounds, checking oil pressure, water temp, bilge water level and listen for any out of place pings, knocks and rattles.

It gets lonely on nights such as this.

  • chuckb

merry xmas jeffh and all you true conservatives. i wish the progressives better thinking in the new year, understand what a loser you have in the white house, then next year you will have a merry xmas when barry sails back to kenya or where ever.

Feast of the Immaculate Conception is in December, which would put birth in September. Counting the taxpayers after the harvest is good Roman engineering: First everyone brings in harvest, then report to be counted so there will be more to tax. We shift celebration to the end of December to minimize difficulty with people used to winter solstice/new year celebrations of pagan practices. We adopt use of Christmas tree to ease conversion of Germanic groups with their own observations. Similarly, we need to give a little, get a little, find an acceptable balance: adapt or die. IO SATURNALIA!!

    • bob wire

A short and sweet overview summary of what we call Christmas Season.

Something from nothing and then it’s quantity divided, celebrated and make thanks.

It’s truly amazing how creative the human mind can be in validating and justifying it’s behavior while seeking dominion of all things known and suspected.

      • Idylewylde

Yeah .. they do that with String Theory … not one shred of science to back that theory, but atheists worship it like it’s the gospel .. seeking dominion over all things known and suspected.

Merry Christmas to one and all.

      • Jay

        Bob, something from nothing?

        • bob wire

only the perception of nothing jay. ~ Obviously what we perceive as nothing is indeed something.

You can get there by faith and be ahead of the game.

But it is science that allows us the view as to “how”. it’s not beyond man ability to comprehend how with accurate information.

Science works hard to do that and we are making some good progress in answering such questions.

Why has no one commented on the Chevy Volt piece? Electric cars might not produce emissions but you have to follow the plug back to the power plant where they have to burn more coal to make the electricity to power these few cars. The greenest car on the planet, for 9 years running now is the Honda Civic GX. It is the only dedicated natural gas vehicle sold in the country today. Why has it won this award over the electric cars, simple natural gas has only 1carbon atom. In my state there are 81electric cars and over 400 charging station all built at great expense to the taxpayer. Go to and look at all the existing natural gas service stations that are in operation. It not only shows you the location of the stations but also the price per gge, gasoline gallon equivalent. The price ranges from .75 cents per gallon to $ 2.65 per gallon and we did not have to import it. Oil imports cost you and me around 5 trillion dollars a year. Why do continue to do this when we now have over 3,000 trillion cubic feet of natural gas in our own back yard? There is a silent revolution going on in this country and it is all about natural gas. It has the potential to give the U.S. it’s energy indepdence back and in a cleaner fashion.
The documentary GASLAND was a hoax. The home owner had paid a contractor to drill him a water well, there was no hydraulic fracturing going on in the area. He drilled through a naturally occurring pocket of methane. Duh… I wonder what they wanted us to believe. Just look up the investigative report by John Stossel and the response by the director of this propaganda.

    That is all.

  • vicki

You know brothers & sisters…this fighting over Christmas is So sad!! It IS NOT bad to celebrate Christmas! GOD is a knower of the heart!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do not judge!!!!! He WILL!! “THEY” want to take Christ out of Everything!! Look how many times Our Lord says, do not fear :them”. “Them” Hummmmm. We will all find out soon enough!! God Help us ALL!!

    • libertytrain

Vicki, extremely well said. Thank you.

  • Gseven

Here’s an idea. How about we start electing people that will accept that it is the best way to allow the citizens to live their lives without stealing too much from any of them in the way of taxes of ‘public works’.

Christ is reputed to have said it well with a short phrase that is just as useful today as when it was uttered. ‘Give unto Caesar that which is Caesars. Give unto God that which he requires. The rest is that which you have earned.’ I’m paraphrasing, but it works out to be roughly 10% to the government, 10% to your place of worship, and the rest for yourself. That means that everyone prospers.

No WAIT! that can’t work, there are too many control freak Liberals out there to see how it makes sense.
