On Iran, Government And Doublethink

On Iran, Government And Doublethink

“Winston sank his arms to his sides and slowly refilled his lungs with air. His mind slid away into the labyrinthine world of doublethink. To know and not know, to be conscious of complete truthfulness while telling carefully constructed lies, to hold simultaneously two opinions which cancelled out, knowing them to be contradictory and believing in both of them, to use logic against logic, to repudiate morality while laying claim to it, to believe that democracy was impossible and that the Party was the guardian of democracy, to forget, whatever it necessary to forget, then to draw it back into memory again at the moment when it was needed, and then promptly to forget it again, and above all, to apply the same process to the process itself—that was the ultimate subtlety: consciously to induce unconsciousness and then, once again, to become unconscious of the act of hypnosis you had just performed. Even to understand the word “doublethink” involved the use of doublethink.” –George Orwell, 1984.

Winston Smith, the protagonist in George Orwell’s 1949 novel 1984, understood doublethink. After all, he worked for the Ministry of Truth (Minitru, in newspeak) where it was his job to rewrite magazine and newspaper articles and other documents and to doctor photographs to make sure they matched with the current “party line.” Most Americans are blindly unaware that doublethink exists today. 1984 is not a work of fiction but is one of prophecy. Big Brother would be proud of the Minitru propaganda ministry that now exists. “War is peace, freedom is slavery, ignorance is strength.”

Senator Lindsey Graham (Neocon-S.C.), who once claimed to be a veteran of Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm but who never left the States during the war and served only as a military lawyer, is one of the leading saber rattlers for more war. It seems he finds a new enemy hiding under his bed every morning.

“Our strategic interests in Syria are much greater than they were in Libya. This regime is the biggest ally of Iran, which threatens the world even more so than the Assad regime,” Graham told CNN’s Erin Burnett.

Graham, Patriot Act and National Defense Authorization Act proponent, has never met a war he didn’t like. CNN, Fox News and the rest of the corporate media love war because their ratings soar.

So they beat the drums of war. Those few who listen hear mixed messages, but most Americans hear only the collective “boo.”

Graham, Senator Joseph Lieberman (Neocon-Conn.), Senator John McCain (Neocon-Ariz.) and neocon talking heads like William Kristol, John Bolton and many others who are part of or constantly use a compliant media fabricate and bloviate about the dangers posed to the United States by dysfunctional (as a result of U.S. meddling) Mideast/Persian countries.

We are told by the neocons that Iran poses a threat to America, that the Iranians are trying to manufacture nuclear weapons and that they would use them to attack America.

This gets good play in the Minitru corporate, war-loving MSM.

Getting less play are statements that refute the pro-war narrative, if they are reported at all. Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta has said repeatedly that Tehran has not made a decision to proceed with developing a weapon.

“Are they trying to develop a nuclear weapon? No. But we know that they’re trying to develop a nuclear capability,” Panetta told CBS Face the Nation’s Bob Schieffer Jan. 8.

Others in the intelligence community — including the CIA’s National Intelligence Estimate, the Director of National Intelligence and the United Nation’s International Atomic Energy Agency — have said the same. Iran even admits this is so. As columnist and former Treasury official Paul Craig Roberts writes, Iran is a signatory to the nuclear non-proliferation treaty and, therefore, has a right to develop nuclear energy. IAEA inspectors are permanently stationed in Iran and report no diversion of nuclear material to a weapons program.

And then there’s this report from the Los Angeles Times last Wednesday, which you’ve not heard from three warmongering Republican beauty contestants nor the alphabet soup television network talking heads:

U.S. intelligence agencies don’t believe Iran is actively trying to build an atomic bomb.

A highly classified U.S. intelligence assessment circulated to policymakers early last year largely affirms that view, originally made in 2007. Both reports, known as national intelligence estimates, conclude that Tehran halted efforts to develop and build a nuclear warhead in 2003.

The most recent report, which represents the consensus of 16 U.S. intelligence agencies, indicates that Iran is pursuing research that could put it in a position to build a weapon, but that it has not sought to do so.

Yet when Ron Paul points out this fact — which he has done in all 20 GOP debates — he gets derisive laughter from the war-loving knuckleheads on stage beside him and jeers and catcalls from the sheeple in the debate audience.

Despite being one of the major oil-exporting nations of the world, Iran cannot currently produce enough gasoline for its citizens. Its navy is capable of only operating within the Persian Gulf. It has no air force capable of reaching the United States. It has no ballistic missile system capable of reaching the U.S. The U.S. has dozens of military bases surrounding it. Yet we are constantly being told Iran poses an existential threat to the U.S.

Another oft-repeated, but false meme is that Iran is attempting to carry out terrorist attacks on U.S. soil. This claim is not grounded in anything concrete, but serves to keep the American people compliant and willing to cede their freedoms for the “safety” that oppressive tyranny provides.

From the Minitru-mouthpiece Boston Globe (part of The New York Times family of papers) on Feb. 17, 2012:

The government is worried that Iran will consider a terror attack on American soil, but it has no specific or credible threat about such a plot. Police from Los Angeles to New York City said they were anxious about the risks, even as a senior U.S. intelligence official reassured Congress that it was unlikely Iran would attack. (Emphasis mine)

Classic doublethink.

More doublethink:

  • Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has called for Israel to be wiped off the map. The truth: Ahmadinejad said no such thing, but the corporate media continue to report it as if it were true.
  • President Barack Obama is a Muslim who hates Israel and his policies favor Muslim nations. The truth: Obama is doing the bidding of the Israel lobby and working with the neocon elites. He is destroying Muslim nations and killing innocent men, women and children in an effort to establish U.S. hegemony over the Mideast and weaken Israel’s enemies. Columnist Roberts provides a good explanation of U.S./Israel machinations here. A weakened Iran and Syria also benefit Obama’s other master, the Saudi oil sheiks who right now are benefitting from rising gas prices and will benefit politically, economically and strategically from a weakened Iran and Syria.
  • The United States, because of its financial backing of Israel, can control Israeli actions. The truth: It is no longer clear which is the dog and which is the tail in this relationship. It’s increasingly clear that the Jewish lobby is driving the conversation and policy in Congress. Anyone who dares to mention this fact is awarded the label anti-Semite. Just ask Ron Paul and Patrick Buchanan, and watch for it in the comments below.
  • There is a War on Terror. The truth: The war on terror is a smokescreen for perpetual war that benefits the military-industrial complex and the banksters and is simply pretext for the West’s goal of world conquest. At some point, Russia and China are going to have enough, and World War III will erupt. I believe it may have begun already.
  • The FBI is keeping us safe by stopping terrorist attacks on U.S. soil before they occur. The truth: The FBI is locating patsies that they encourage, cajole and equip to attempt ridiculously ill-conceived terror attacks so Federal agents can swoop in at the last second and “save us.” This all done to keep the American people scared and dependent upon an increasingly militarized and increasingly overbearing law enforcement apparatus and provide pretext to pass even more laws to steal our liberties.
  • Congress represents the will of the people. The truth: Politicians are employees of the government whose sole aim is to benefit and grow government and pass laws to benefit large corporations and enrich themselves. They, along with the banksters and multinational corporations, are the 1 percent and government exists to benefit the 1 percent.
  • The United States is a democracy. The truth: The United States has never been a democracy, but it is as far removed from democracy now as ever. The U.S. is a fascist system in which an entrenched elite of moneyed power brokers and corporations control the machinations of government to their benefit and the detriment of the American people.
  • America is free. The truth: The United States is a totalitarian society in which the Constitution, which was drafted to restrain government and put power in the hands of a free people, is null and void and given only lip service by those who swear to uphold it.
  • Defeating Obama in November should be the ultimate goal of American voters. The truth: Electing Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich or Rick Santorum will not spare our Nation from the inevitable collapse because they have pledged to increase military spending and adventurism and are all big government globalists and political statists. It would be tantamount to rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. There is only one way to possibly slow the slide into total fascism, and that is to elect Ron Paul. There is no significant difference between Obama, Romney, Gingrich and Santorum.

So what’s the opposite of a neocon, Bob? Would the word be neoretard? Neocon does indeed fit moonbats like Graham and McCain. I don’t understand how Lieberman rates being known as a neocon, but then many things no longer make any sense in Utopialand.
Speaking of pig’s rumps, if Motormouth Ahmadingbat didn’t say that he wants Israel wiped off the map, then can we FINALLY agree that America’s media is mostly a herd of overpaid, under-achieving whores? Next . . .

        To Bob and readers:

I’ve held to the facist description of government and its operatives for years. I’ve mentioned it many times and inevitably get the old deer and lights stare from my malaise stricken bretheren. Make headline use of this quote from Benito musolini: “Fascism is better described as the joining of corporatism and government”. Look it up. Concurrently, of course, one would need to explain who Musolini was – but just how many would comprehend even then??

      • http://HOTMAIL Trainman

I don’t trust that racist Paul, and what if what they say is happening in the US about turning facts around just maybe happening in this article right now, think about it. How come the inspectors were all kick out of Iran, and how come many other county’s have said they have proof of Iran’s intentions of nuke’s for war, and I’m not just meaning Israel, I mean France, Germany, Italy, England and the list goes on.

      • John

But that’s just it, don’t you see? There are inspectors in Iran 24/7/365, moreover all facilities have cameras installed that are monitored from Vienna. At NO time at all where there no inspectors in Iran. The inspectors that where kicked out are the inspectors that did not followed protocol, and spied for either there government or the US. Inspectors have to be impartial and not try to take pictures of Iranian military installations (unrelated to their work) for the US.
Most inspectors that where kicked out where quietly replaced by the agency. But the US media made a big deal out of it. Moreover at no time was the remote monitoring of the Iranian sites and the stockpile of nuclear material interrupted. Go read the reports that where published by the agency… and you will find that there is a big difference between that and what the US public is being told.

Are those some of the same countries who swore to the existance of WMDs in Iraq?

The real issue, as with Libya, is Iran not using DOLLARS to buy / sell oil.

Desert STrom ended 2/27/91, 21 years ago today. Lots of progress, eh?

The truth is the same “Elite” Illuminati, communist, neocons or what ever you want to call them, are the same people that sacrificed millions of Jews and hundreds of millions of lives by creating two world wars. They were able to create their Jewish state to use for future manipulation and destruction,
These same families are in the process of creating WWIII by taking out Leaders of Middle Eastern nations that would never think of attacking Israel, because they all had plenty of time to do so.
This is just another “problem, reaction, solution” scam to sacrifice hundreds of millions, if not billions of lives and create the one world government they so want.

Obama may no longer be a Muslim, but he has no faith in our Lord.
If you think that any person sitting in a pew at the church of Rev Wright is a Christian, you are greatly mistaken. Christ preached peace, tolerance and love. Wright preached racism, hate, intolerance and hatred for America. Only evil men with demented thoughts would “tolerate” such sick rhetoric.
Obama, Rommney and everyone who belongs to the cult called the CFR (council on foreign relations) are all part of this attack on America and our world as we knew it.
They are puppets of those who want all control. They go by many names, but Legion is who they are.
Many people blame the “Jewish” bankers and old names like Rothschild, Rockefeller, Schiff, Oppenheim, Warburg and others that are the families behind this attack. They all have Jewish names, but are not Jews. They hide behind the true religion to perform their evil, but they have no faith in our God.
If you see that America and Israel are the dogs, and legion is wagging them both, you will see what plans are in store for us all.
How do we create a one world government?
Let’s take out all of the leaders in the Middle East that have been keeping the Islamic fanatics in place, under the sweet guise “Arab spring” and let the fanatics gain control (Muslim Brotherhood). This equals problem.
The new leaders will attack Israel causing America and Europe to intervene. China and Russia will join with the opposition, and the world will be at war. We will make trillions backing all sides, just as we did in WWI and WWII. This equals Reaction.
After the entire planet is devastated by this war, and billions of lives have been lost, the remaining countries will be broke and the people will be sick of all war and all governments and this will be our opportunity to enslave the remaining population, and create our “New World Order”. This equals Solution.
Satan is alive and well, and his workers are planning against us true believers every day. We must not fall for the war lies and fight against those who would be willing to murder ¾ of our world population for their personal power.

      • Joe H

        void 1972,
No I wouldn’t call you anti-semite, but I would ask one small question. If the US is doing the bidding of the Israelis, then why did they tell both Russia AND the US to mind their own damn business?? this was in foreign news reports as well as the US news.

      • Roberto Benitez

I doubt you’ve ever lived in a totalitarian country. Nevertheless it’s true the Constitution is moribund, particularly the Bill of Rights. With Obama and even many Republicans we’re headed for a socialist welfare nanny one-party state called the USSA. However, Rep. Ron Paul isn’t the answer. He’s not a Republican, a conservative, or a Libertarian; he’s an anarchist.

Want proof. In a debate when asked what the candidates believed was a fair amount of taxation from ALL SOURCES, the others ranged from 15 to 35% Rep. Paul quickly responded with 0%. Tell us, how could a government even at the local level could be run with no taxation?

        • Teresa M.

I believe the government didn’t crumble before 1913. I think it was 1913 when the federal income tax was executed, However even if I’m wrong about the date the point is there hasn’t always been and we could learn to survive without. While in this day and age o% is probably not feasible it would be a goal to shoot for. The smaller the government the smaller the burden on the people. Ron Pauls point is that government is to big and taking way too much of our hard earned money while taking away our basic freedoms . This is not what was intended at the begining of our beautiful nation. He just wants to change it’s course before all is lost.

        • Elz

He meant of course, you aim for 0%. The closer you get, the better. He has stated many times his desire to have people keep their money, after all, it was earned by work. If you look at Paul’s history, you will recognize honesty and consistency. Nobody else is even close. He is in spectacular shape for his age, too. Reagan was no spring chicken, look at his accomplishments. Paul the only choice in my mind. Running with judge napolitano as his vp. I think he is a shoo-in. True leadership, nothing phony, nothing “crony” either.

      • Roberto Benitez

wm mcdannold jr, here’s a good definition of fascism that I found on the Internet and which supports your contention. Fascism is an economic model in which the state dictates the utilization of privately held assets to achieve public policy goals. Often we think of fascism as the sound of jackboots in the street, but it can wear a velvet glove, with of course an iron fist inside.

With the bailouts, the buying of much of the auto industry, funding of private organizations known to engage in questionable voting efforts, the forcing of banks to make risky loans, the supporting of green industries, the threat to bankrupt certain sectors of the energy industry, the forcing of insurance companies to add benefits at no cost to the insureds, the dictating of where or if companies can drill on their own land or in areas they’ve already signed contracts for, requiring auto companies to try to achieve almost unattainable gas milage goals, the attempt to force companies bidding for government contract to reveal their political donations for the last 3 years, forcing food producers and preparers to comply to the government’s idea of nutrition, forcing an oil company to fund a 20 billion dollar slush fund the administration controls, the taking over of banks and investment firms, taking over large tracts of private land in Western states by declaring them national monuments, the forcing of farms to shut down thru water usage restrictions, the forcing of people to buy government approved health insurance, and for religious institutions to violate their beliefs, how can we deny that the above definition doesn’t fit our government?

Please remember, fascism is but one side of a coin. The other side is socialism. Fascism has the state force companies and organizations to do its bidding. Socialism tires of that and takes over the companies. Make no mistake, Mr. Obama is a Fabian socialist taking one step at a time.

Wow. I’ve never read Orwell before but I’ve heard the term “Orwellian” used many times and it wasn’t a compliment. It sure does sound alot like Obama’s speech about indefinate detention where he speaks about holding people in jail without charging them while maintaining judicial integrity. (SMH) I guess that would be the definition of Orwellian. I tried to find the link on Brasscheck TV but it was removed because of right’s infringement. If anyone could give me the name of that Obama speech and a link, I’d appreciate it. Now I really want to read up on Orwell. Thanks again for the info Bob.
    I love this site!

    • Vicki

Here is a link to an active copy of Obama’s speech about indefinite detention. It is from the POV of a well known progressive reporter and station.

Makes me wonder if someone in the MSM has figured out what happens to “useful idiots”

      • RevNowWhileWeCan

Lol. Thanks Vicki. I’ll definately check it out. I can’t stand it when I know I’m right about something but can’t source it.

      • RevNowWhileWeCan

Yes, this was the exact show i was speaking about. Thanks again for the link. Does that MSNBC anchor still have a job there? After that report, I wouldn’t be suprised if she’s covering breaking news in Bolivia now.

      • eddie47d

This video does expose the doublespeak that politicians often use to slink out of previous statements Vickie and we have all seen it with every other President. It’s always interesting how they can take the opposite positions on the same issue and get away with it. Bush/Cheney did it and now Obama is doing it and we mostly bite into the apple. I hope this puts to rest that Rachael Maddow’s isn’t a balanced reporter/talking head and that Liberals will expose the manipulations on the left as easily as on the right. Section 1031 of the NDAA needs to be expunged and our rights restored.

It won’t. Only continued balanced reporting over time can possibly convince people.

What It does show us is either the mysterious shadow puppet masters (presumes existence of same) have decided to throw Obama under the bus now that they have the law in place or

It shows us that some in the media have remembered what happens to “useful idiots”.

      • katrael59ganaiden

Vicki, I watched that footage on Obama’s speech about prolonged detention. What an amazing act of double talk. Can anyone say, “man speaks with forked tongue.”? I read the actual sections in the legislation relating to this and all of this is to be done in the interests of anti-terrorism. The legislation makes it sound like it wouldn’t apply to US citizens but then it’s about anti-terrorism and not about citizenship. Watch out folks for the new legal system being set up outside the current legal system that wil lhave the power to do this.
I may be wrong here but, I doubt that this stuff is something that Obama dreamed up and that if the plans he purposes doesn’t come to pass during his administration that it will in the next…I mean after the next election.
The only thing he or his successor will need is some kind of a terrorist act to take place and the American Sheep will buy into the necessity of this type of a legal system.

I had to read both my senior year in high school for english class. I am amazed by the fact that the younger people I work with that are in their early 20′s didn’t . It certainly is doublespeak although it is the same video as Vickie showed us above. It is also a Liberal who exposes the doublespeak. That is not something that would have come out of the mouth of Glenn Beck who staunchly supports right wing extremism’s and is never fair and balanced.

I think what Liberal ideological Obamadrones may take away from the Prolonged Detention speech is the notion that their continued loyalty is now mandated. • Winston Smith

I “read” (Audible audiobook, unabridged) once. I started to go through it again but as I listened – and considered current politics – it became just TOO DEPRESSING for me to get through a half hour of it! George Orwell was a prophet, it would seem.
      Aren’t we being told:

  • Tazio2013

Now that is part of the reason but for the entire story, one needs to confront the contentions in the You Tube Israel pulling the strings for war with Iran.

Where is gets so confusing for the casual observer is that any discussion that deems to be critical of Israel is a taboo discussion in polite company. Well, when it comes to addressing the impending prospects of a major conflict in the Middle East, the linkage between the deciding influences in American policy that coincide with a greater Israel objective, is silenced in the old-line press and media. Therefore, the key element to explore is the relationship of Zionist interests with the fundamental preservation of the paper currency imperium of Federal Reserve notes as the medium of payment for oil.

Think about this equation in light of ultimate control. Oil is the fuel that runs the engine of all economies. Money is the medium of exchange that pays for the petroleum. War is the universal method used to avoid the breakdown of the money recycling system. In The Petro-Dollar and the EURO, the nature of this formula is probed.

“War is always about achieving a political end. Even holy wars seek to impose a secular control over the vanquished. At the root of every political conflict, lies the MONEY component. On the scale of greed or fear, international discords can slide up or down. Depending on the circumstances or demands, governments rally domestic populations to accept their foreign interventionist goals. Claims of altruistic liberation are fictitious, when the rhetoric is stripped away and the real substance is exposed. Notwithstanding, variances of emphasis; the motive of money underpins the movements of all military confrontations.”

Who can deny that the interest of the Israeli state advances under the Petro-Dollar system for oil payment? The prospect of allowing an oil exporter to do business paid in gold disrupts the balances that maintain an uneasy political rapprochement. Even more threatening to the globalist monopoly is a defiant regime like the Islamic Republic playing by different rules that bypass central banking approval.

It seems that the NeoCon Christian Zionists will never be happy until they institute a techno drone bombing campaign to shut off even more oil resources. With Iraqi and Libyan production in shambles, it is now time to eliminate the Iranian resource. Spiking oil to $200 or more through another foreign intervention just hikes the balance sheets of the oil traders and banking interests. There is no doubt that foreign aid to Israel will rise at even a higher amount.

    • RevNowWhileWeCan

I think you can even take that further and come to the conclusion that the few at the top of the food chain that run the world at the bank levels don’t care about U.S./Israel interests and could be looking to undermind the pair for the purpose of keeping ALL parties in debt no matter the cost until they can shift their monies away into a more stable economic system. It seems China may be falling for the bait.

  • TOCB

I don’t think I disagree with anything in this article.

    • eddie47d

Like the conflict in Iraq the lies never ceased in pushing the buttons for war and the same will be by the masters of deceit over Iran. While we whip up new threats in the world to cover up our economic weakness the real concern which is China will continue to grow and maneuver into position. While our wars grow their economy flows!

    To Everyone:
True,Obama might say things that are “Orwellian”, Yet the Repubs.
two major contenders have the same tactics. Their ideologies might be
different but their techniques are the same. Thanks!!

    • RevNowWhileWeCan

You’re right Tony. You forgot to say ALL of the candidates have the same tactics except for Ron Paul as the rest of the candidates track record shows that it’s all the same no matter who gets (re)elected. That’s why the MSM is so against Paul because he stands to undermind everythink they stand for. There is also no difference in ideologies. This is also a hoax made to look like there is major differences to give the illusion of democracy.

      • Joe H

yup, the MSM is afraid of Paul because he might force them to report the truth and THAT might take some WORK!! They can’t make the truth up as they go along!!!

  • eddie47d

There has been alot of falsehoods spread about Iran and the controllers of the world can’t get enough of it. Iran is their new pit bull they nurtured into a frenzy along with the opposing team in this up and coming dog fight. They have groomed the world into believing this will be the fight of the century and the USA eagerly accepts the job as the referee. No offense to pit bulls but we all know once they latch on they won’t let go and they will take a piece out of anyone within biting distance. No one will come out unscathed in all this treachery by the world’s Elite.

Bob, Again a really super Blog!

The adage; “Divide and Conquer.” Thats whats been going on now for countless years, For this nation it all started just months after we gained our alledged independance from the UK.

REALLY Look in to the Rothschilds and thier contacts from the Bank of London, / Bank of England, and a special Family named the Rockefeller’s.
You all need to look into the Rockefeller’s when still living in Europe and the plan set forth. Then you will see what is unfolding before your eye’s daily.

BTW – Again the question who owns 90% of Israel? When you have the answer then you can start to better understand all the mass media hype about how to protect Israel, and why war is so good.
BTW – Then you will also learn who owns ALL the Mass Media and why they are helping this NWO movment, of what the NWO is not a new thing at all.

Then in turn you will also better understand the Divide and Conquer method’s used to enslave you, can anyone say the PC movment, The Green Movment, Green American, Black American what ever American its all just part of the same nasty divide.

War is never the answer, nor are Politicians ever telling the TRUTH, Thus I beg you all to Please wake up.

    Peace & Love.

I’ve been saying the same thing. Just keep passing the word along. When enough people get enlightened then we’ll finally be able to move forward. Sharing is caring!

Whether it be oil, economics, green issues, population control, Politics or national security, all roads lead to the Rothschild families doorstep. All one need do is follow the money trail.

No real harm will come to Isreal, because it is for the most part a Rothschild pet project. It is being used as bait and justification for imminent attrocities.

The 19 being held in Egypt are Rothschild community organizers who do not enjoy the benefit of a sympathetic MSM umbrella that they have in this country.

Iran and Syria are the next target because they are not on board with the Rothschild plan for world domination, not because they are a threat to Isreal.

Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Iraq are entering the era of globalist indoctrination and will soon be introduced to The Political Correctness Manifesto and all that it dictates, only at an excelerated pace. The CFR will dominate their media. They will learn gay tolerance. They will be blamed for environmental ills. Propaganda with the aim of slavery will saturate the lives of those who expected Democracy. Sound familiar?

Mlchael J. You’re a great fiction writer – you should write a novel someday!

Time, I’ve been reading and thinking along those lines for a very long time. However I have found few who either agree or are even aware of such a conspiracy brought about after this new country was formed. Follow the “old money” back through the ages and you will find the ones who are brokering both sides and working them against the middle for their own gains. G.Edward Griffin brought this out in his “Creature From Jekyll Island” book.

  • Capitalist at Birth

Bob, Your rant today sounds like a laundry list of conspiracy theories to aid in your bottom line of supporting Ron Paul. I really think you are going to be disappointed when Ron Paul is not elected President. He doesn’t have a chance. If all of the Paulistas decide to write in Paul it will certainly insure the election of Obama, further hastening the destruction of the U.S,A. I suggest that you are incorrect in your statement that there is no difference between Gingrich and Romney. I don’t believe there is much difference between Romney and Obama. Santorum is cut from the cloth of Crony Capitalists. Yes he is a social conservative, but he his a big government conservative. Newt is the only viable option for the fiscal conservative.

    • eddie47d

I don’t believe Ron Paul will be the winner but he urgently needs to be listened to and not to do so will hasten the destruction of the USA. If Gingrich is elected (his chances seem even slimmer now also) we will all be issued storm trooper boots and the march to war will be hastened.

      • http://liberty Tony

The reason why Ron Paul wont win is because people will not give him a
chance. I mean you got MSM making bizarre claims that Ron Paul is a white supremacist, which you and i know is hogwash. If given the oopportunity, Ron Paul could be effective. The sad thing is because no wwill let this happen, Obama will win in a landslide. As a matter of
fact, this country will truly become a one party state, if we’re not
        careful. Thanks!!

    • BigBadJohn

I am a right leaning, centrist, independent.

I am so completely discussed with this election cycle it is not funny. I don’t like Obama, but I would not vote for single GOP Candidate – except for Ron Paul.

It has surprised me how many “liberals” that I have talked to, agree Ron Paul is the best candidate for president PERIOD! If Ron Paul gets the GOP nomination, he will pick up a majority of independents, and a good chunk of the centrist democrats. If any other candidate get the GOP nomination, you will see four more years of Obama.

      • DaveH

        I agree, John.

      • Michael J.

Ron Paul is a slam dunk in the general election for reasons you mentioned. The real contest is what we are seeing now in the race to be nominee.

      • DaveH

That would be so cool, Michael J.

    • ChristyK

We have been conditioned to believe that conspiracies do not exist. Have you ever noticed when anyone even suggests a conspiracy they have a knee jerk reaction, just like you did? We are conditioned to reject such notions out of hand, immediately dismissing them as nonsense. Well I’ve done quite a bit of research on the subject. I’d like to recommend several books, so you can come to your own conclusion. “Brotherhood of Darkness” by Dr. Stanly Monteith, “The Hope of the Wicked” by Ted Flynn, “Unseen Hand” by Ralph Epperson, “The Creature From Jekyll Island” by G. Edward Griffin. I’d also like add that Judge Napolitano was immediately fired from Fox News about 10 days ago for even mentioning anything of the sort. You can hopefully still find it on YouTube. I believe it’s titled “What If?”

      • DaveH
      • John Illinois

Of course conspiracies exist. It is only the failed ones that are exposed, the successful ones just continue in secret, like a conspiracy is supposed to.

      • Joe H

If judge Napolitano’s show wasn’t cancelled under a mutual agreement, then how did they get him to abandon his principles and ask the viewers to quit e-mailing Fox? HE has said it was mutual. I don’t see him as a person that would do that for ANYTHING! I’m sorry but I don’t buy it and won’t till HE comes out and withdraws his statement made just a couple of days ago to Patriot Action Network on 2-15 where he asks all listeners to refrain from emailing Fox, tells us it was MUTUAL and he will be working in spots for Fox.

    • DaveH

Are you Newt’s roommate CC? I sure can’t think of any other reason for you to support the quintessential Politician that is Newt:

And speaking of a Guy who can’t win — Newt Gingrich!
If we can’t have Ron Paul, we may as well be stuck with Obama.

    • Angel Wannabe

Cap, I usually agree with your thought, but this time I’d have to say that you may be the one, that is surprised this time.

    • Bob Livingston

      Dear Capitalist at Birth,

You write: “Your rant today sounds like a laundry list of conspiracy theories to aid in your bottom line of supporting Ron Paul.” My commentary is a listing of proven FACTS that you are unable to disprove; hence you attempt to disparage them with the term “conspiracy theory.”

You write: “I really think you are going to be disappointed when Ron Paul is not elected President.” You are correct. If Dr. Paul is not elected I will indeed be disappointed.

You write: “He doesn’t have a chance.” I do not agree with this premise. However, if “he doesn’t have a chance,” that is because the Republican establishment is working overtime in many ways to rig the election: as it has done in Iowa, Maine and Nevada and to deny him a clear-cut victory that would serve to give him “momentum” in the minds of voters. Republican elites use their compliant propaganda arm, the Saudi-run Fox News Channel, to propagate the meme that you continuously parrot: “Ron Paul can’t win; he’s a nut; he’s an isolationist; etc.” All false.

You write: “If all of the Paulistas decide to write in Paul it will certainly insure (sic) the election of Obama, further hastening the destruction of the U.S,A.” If all the “Paulistas” decide to write in Paul then they are exercising their right cast their votes as they see fit and their votes are no less valuable than yours, nor is their decision as to how best to cast their votes in a way that serves their best interests any less valuable than yours.

You write: “I suggest that you are incorrect in your statement that there is no difference between Gingrich and Romney.” I have repeatedly written in these spaces how there is no difference but you have yet to demonstrate any evidence to support your contention.

You write: “Newt is the only viable option for the fiscal conservative.” I have disproved this statement several times, including in response to your past similar comments. I will not discuss this with you again, as your claim is ridiculous on its face. However, for the reader who may have missed, I offer this:

Finally, I believe you have repeatedly stated that the most important objective is to defeat Obama. Yet you continue to promote Newt.

      Best wishes,

      • Capitalist at Birth

Romney will most likely win the nomination, unfortunately. If he does, I will write in Newt Gingrich, as I will no longer cast a vote for the lesser of two evils, which has been the case since 1988. i will not write Ron Paul, however, because I sincerely believe he is mentally unbalanced. I agree with his approach to the fiscal side of the coin. He is still a Libertarian, which still has open borders in their platform, which I can never support . it is why I left the part in 1985.

      • Bob Livingston

        Dear Capitalist at Birth,

You write: “Romney will most likely win the nomination, unfortunately. If he does, I will write in Newt Gingrich, as I will no longer cast a vote for the lesser of two evils, which has been the case since 1988.” For weeks you have been casting aspersions and charges of evil intent upon Ron Paul supporters who have said the same thing. You have repeatedly claimed Ron Paul supporters will “ensure the re-election of Obama” if they write in Ron Paul. Hypocrite?

        Best wishes,

The frightful consequences on the totalitarian society rest upon the shoulders of each person who refuses to challenge the system. Resisting immoral authority is your primary civic duty. Our avowed responsibility is to abolish the corporate/sate and global governance that enslaves the planet.

A disconnect of left leaning progressives, from the historic context of natural law principles, is a core reason why a coalition of anti establishment advocates fails. Common dreams must become practical beliefs. As long as the utopians refuse to accept the lessons and validity of genuine conservative philosophy, the divide and conqueror tactics of the despotic New World Order will continue.

The economic implosion of the last few years is undeniable. The consolidation of power marches on because ordinary people obey repressive authority. Sadly, the indifference towards one’s own self-respect is the prime result of the sick popular culture. The abandonment of Western Civilization is almost complete, but is not final. Totalitarianism is a crime against humanity. It is up to you to do your civil disobedient duty.

I agree with all that you point out Bob except one thing. I am still convinced Obama is a muslim and that he and his thugs are the cause of the arab spring, so that they can put into power who they want. Wish I could find the news clip of Obama greeting another man like muslims do that I seen while he was campainging a few years ago. To many things point to him being one.

    • eddie47d

Since it has been mostly Republicans who pushed the buttons of war and conflict in the Middle East then would you say they are then more Muslim than Obama?

The Judeo-Christian belief system is called such as to be a Christian, one must first be a Jew. The New Testament springs from the old. Both testaments were well-documented by numerous people at the time events were occurring. The Christ of the New Testament was foretold repeatedly in the Old Testament, right up to and including the way He’d die on the cross. We’re watching the events foretold by the prophets of the Old, by Jesus in the Gospels and by John in Revelations, unfolding before our eyes.
Islam is a thugocracy created wholly in the perverse mind of one narcissistic inDUHvidual to suit his own lusts and cravings for power and sex (with other men, children, animals & dead bodies). He took it upon himself to steal characters from the Judeo-Christian theology but that doesn’t make it part of the same belief system anymore than someome stealing your money from you makes him a family member.
I have to disagree with Bob on this. In order to buy into what he writes here one would have to ignore the basic goal of islam; the one-world caliphate, as well as the history of Iran’s support of terrorism in Iraq & elsewhere. Bob needs to backtrack to the islamist’s war against Russia (el al) in the Balkans to understand what our future holds. These aren’t nice people looking for nuke plants to run their microwaves. They’ve been told by their bastard “prophet” to kill, convert or subjugate us. That is their underlying goal for everything they do. Truth is truth regardless of the source of same.

Perhaps you would care to shed some light on what a {Bishop and a Cardinal were? Just so we are clear I mean from Constine’s time you know when he appointed the Council of Nicea.
You know when the OFFICIAL Cannon was written by the noted; Bishop’s and Cardinal’s. Just in case you at a loss as to what I am asking that would be the Council of Nicea.
Also please do tell us all about Caesar Emperor Constantine Augustus, also please do tell us all about his treatment of Christians by his order of rule from 23/2/303 AD.

Also just how odd is it that one wears Red, the other Puprle, and perhaps you can then also shed some light on why that is within the text of your explination.

Oh and could you also please tell us all the alledged vast differances in each of the noted religions.
I am sure we all await your expert information.

Please be sure to note your source material, I know we all await your detailed review.

I don’t much about these other religions to really to offer mindful comment, but the Christian and their/our Holy Bible can be interrupted in many ways that are truly absurd.

i would think it not to hard to imagine the other done much the same way.

I believe our American Christian of today fail to see that these religions all share a common ancestry.

Myself, It’s all Jewish or Arab and I am neither. . ~ I enjoy the Gospels to help understand God plan, but beyond those few books, the rest is history, references, letters, bedtime stories, folk lore, written art form and amusing bull $hit.

I know that will hurt some people feeling and I’m sorry about that ~ but you need to be woken from your dream.

I wish that the Iranians were less defiant, I wish that they offered the world more assurances of their intentions. All we have got is double talk.

They seem to be on the record as willing to deny neighbor nations “right to exist”.

WeLL, ~ I say allow them to work it out, there is no need of threatening and posturing.

We know who our friends are. Do we need to come over and explain it? Islam has for the most part, only show the rest of the world it’s ugly backside. Any friendship would be of questionable value and worth.

Permit us to feel differently, offer us some assurances so we have a good argument to stand aside.

      • BigBadJohn

Time you are correct, too many people take the bible as the hand written book of God but are ignorant of the fact that Christianity came about as a Roman State Religion which killed off competing sects of Christian beliefs as Heretics. All for state control over peoples minds……

the sad truth is that Christ’s real teachings may have been trampled and lost forever.

      • Joe H

        Big BJ,
Would you like to show some proof of what you say?? The romans were crucifying all Christians of the time, how can you say it was state sponsored??? They were also fed to Lions and killed in the games. you need to revise what you believe a little.

      • BigBadJohn

Joe as Time said, please do some research on Emperor Constantine and the Council of Nicea – That is the founding of the Christian religion as you know it.

As time went on Constantine should become ever more involved with the Christian church. He appeared at first to have very little grasp of the basic beliefs governing Christian faith. But gradually he must have become more acquainted with them. So much so that he sought to resolve theological disputes among the church itself.
In this role he summoned the bishops of the western provinces to Arelate (Arles) in AD 314, after the so-called Donatist schism had split the church in Africa. If this willingness to resolve matters through peaceful debate showed one side of Constantine, then his brutal enforcement of the decisions reached at such meetings showed the other. Following the decision of the council of bishops at Arelate, donatist churches were confiscated and the followers of this branch of Christianity were brutally repressed. Evidently Constantine was also capable of persecuting Christians, IF THEY WERE DEEMED TO BE THE “WRONG TYPE OF CHRISTIANS”.

      • BigBadJohn

But instead of determining to rid his domain of Christian influence, Constantine thought the growing religion might actually be the means by which he could bring back the sense of imperial unity that had prevailed under Augustus Caesar in the first century.

In fact, Christianity proved to be key not only in winning the empire but in keeping it together throughout his reign. While Christians dwelled in every corner of the empire, they were not unified as is normally supposed. Centers of power existed in Rome, in Alexandria, Egypt, and in Antioch, Syria. Language difficulties apart, disagreements on various issues of interpretation as well as corruption created fissures within the Christian religion and thus threatened the unity of the empire itself.

As Augustus in the West, Constantine therefore sought to resolve the issues that divided the church. His first challenge was in North Africa, where rival groups were seeking his favor. In response, Constantine established synods for issue resolution. The church effectively became subject to the rule of the state in that an appeal from the synod went to the state. Already existing structures within the church appeared not to matter to the emperor. He put himself in a position to determine what kind of religion Christianity would be. He even declared himself a bishop.

I see ron paul as the only viable candidate. I see the judge for VP. I consider that the freedom wagon. We can ride that wagon to the freedom we were guaranteed at birth, and make all the adjustments the current system must endure, by these men of will.

That’s not a guarantee but an aspiration. It’s for US to make it so.

  • Eric Bischoff

Bob thanks for this concise and intelligent recap of the situation.

Don’t you think that if we elected Ron Paul someone would take him out early on before he did any damage to the military industrial complex? Unfortunately, I don’t find anything else to like about Ron Paul besides ending wars and shutting down bases and I worry about what kind of cabinet he would have. I don’t think our founding fathers would be happy with eliminating government.

Maybe what we should be focused on is rooting out the corruption and closing the revolving doors between industries and the government institutions that were created to enforce the rules and protect us and our common wealth for generations to come.

Maybe we should stop being so AFRAID and take a leap of FAITH and vote once for the most progressive leaders we could find. We certainly could not do any worse than we have in the last four decades voting for Republi-cRats. What if we had elected Ross Perrot or Ralph Nader or a Green party candidate. What kind of world would we have today?

What if we invested in ourselves, our infrastructure, our children, our health, our environment, our common wealth. Wouldn’t the returns be far greater than we can even imagine right now? Isn’t prevention always cheaper in the long run?.

We could tighten our belt, eat better, lose weight, exercise, read books, watch documentaries, go back to school, use public transportation, empower women with true equal rights, replace minimum wages with fair living wages, bring taxes on the wealthy back to Roosevelt level to curb speculation and encourage savings and reinvesting in their businesses, end subsidies to any polluting industries, end free trade and bring back tariffs to protect our industries. We could do all these things.

Maybe we should put aside our arrogance and model success and excellence regardless of where it comes from.

Maybe we could practice Intelligent Democracy and vote for what’s good for us instead of against what we have been made afraid of by LIARS.

    It’s not really that complicated.

    • Patriot Diva

Ron Paul is probably most like our founders than anyone I’ve ever seen run for office. The media will never tell the truth, not even so-called conservative media. To get a real idea of what RP is all about you have to go his website, and take at look at speeches he’s made on YouTube. The media just portrays him as the crazy old uncle in the attic, or they try their best to ignore him. Ron Paul is probably the most intelligent of the candidates. He’s an economic expert as well as a physician.

    • DaveH

Eric says — “I don’t think our founding fathers would be happy with eliminating government”.
First of all, who says anything about eliminating Government? Hyperbole is just one of many Progressive techniques to cloud the issue.
Secondly, I can confidently say that the majority of Founders would have been VERY unhappy with Progressives.

    • DaveH

Eric says “Maybe we should stop being so AFRAID and take a leap of FAITH and vote once for the most progressive leaders we could find”.
And a great leap of faith it would be, considering that the Big Government Progressive Agenda has resulted in loss of Freedom and bad economies everywhere that it’s tried.
Oh, we know, it will be different this time. Always is.
Why would anybody, who has any self-respect at all, want to turn their life-choices over to a bunch of elitist snobs, especially when the results are always the same — bad economies.
For those who care about their Freedom:
The opposite of what Progressives want.

      • Eric Bischoff

And that is where we always disagree Dave. Besides Bernie Sanders, there aren’t too many real progressives in this government. Therefore real progressives have never been in power in government and you can’t blame us for anything. You only think you know what we are about but you really don’t even come close. You only have yourselves to blame for this mess.

    • DaveH

Eric says — “We certainly could not do any worse than we have in the last four decades voting for Republi-cRats”.
What he neglects to say is that the Republicans are also mostly Progressives these days.
The Progressives have been infiltrating our Government since Teddy Roosevelt.
And what have we gotten as a result? –
The Byzantine Income Tax System, The Central Bank which steals our money by creating more and decreasing its value, Big Government which devours 42% of our GDP, one Great Depression and many smaller economic downturns, and a tremendous loss of our Freedom.
Why anybody would voluntarily choose to have their personal choices dictated by an elitist class of leaders is beyond me. Here’s just one of them:

      • Eric Bischoff

I rest my case Dave, if you think Republicans are progressives, you really have no clue of what we are about or what I am talking about.

      Dear Eric Bischoff,

      Thanks for your kind words.

You write: “Don’t you think that if we elected Ron Paul someone would take him out early on before he did any damage to the military industrial complex?” That is certainly a possibility.

You write: “I don’t think our founding fathers would be happy with eliminating government.” Who has advocated “eliminating government?”

You write: “Maybe what we should be focused on is rooting out the corruption and closing the revolving doors between industries and the government institutions that were created to enforce the rules and protect us and our common wealth for generations to come.” I agree wholeheartedly.

You write: “Maybe we should stop being so AFRAID and take a leap of FAITH and vote once for the most progressive leaders we could find. We certainly could not do any worse than we have in the last four decades voting for Republi-cRats.” Apparently your definition of progressive leaders and my definition differ. In my mind, that is all we’ve had for many years.

It is evident from this and your previous posts that we agree in some areas, but the role of government is not one of them.

      Best wishes,

    • Joe H

we could also loose our freedoms, give up our guns, be spied on, have our conversations listened to, be slaves to the government, hell we COULD put a bullet into the old brain pan. but I think I’d rather vote for Ron Paul!!!

  • factnotrhetoric

This author fell victim of the doublethnk, even though he did fairly well trying to read through the doublethink.

Israel is more afraid of our SAUDI DICTATOR CONTROLLED ADMINISTRATION and SAUDI PUPPET OBAMA than they ever were afraid of Iran, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen or Kenya. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly given speeches saying he would never invade Iran with a preemptive strike. It’s Saudi Puppet Obama, and the Saudi Controlled administration, saying this about Israel.

Our Administration is now under the control of the Saudi Dictator. The Saudi Dictator is forcing America into endless wars to overthrow countries, and then hand them over to the Saudi Dictator.

The Saudi Dictator and “Saudi Puppets Obama and Clinton” work tirelessly to persuade Americans to sacrifice Thousands of American Soldier’s Lives, $Trillions of BORROWED American Dollars to overthrow countries, which are then handed over to the Saudi Dictator. This is at the cost of killing over a million INNOCENT Middle Eastern Citizens.

“Saudi Puppet Obama” left “Saudi written Sharia Law” or “Islamic Law” in the constitutions of Iraq, Afghanistan, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Yemen, and Kenya. “Saudi written Shari Law”, in the constitution of any country, will convert any DEMOCRACY into a bloody, genocidal, Hitler-Like, DICTATORSHIP UNDER SAUDI RULE.

Saudi Puppet Obama’s Doublespeek (which is the Sharia Law term for lying to the democracies they want to overthrow) is saying Israel is to blame. Did you see how the same bomber bombed an Iranian citizen and blamed it on Israel, and then bombed an Israeli Citizen and blamed it on Iran? DOUBLESPEEK AND FALSE FLAGS

FALSE FLAGS are like the Saudis flying jets into the twin towers to get Saudi Puppets to overthrow Iraq and Afghanistan for the Saudi Dictator. Osama Bin Laden said he knew nothing about the Twin Towers. He said he heard about it like everyone else, he read it in the morning paper.

Expect a FALSE FLAG (doubletalk) out of the Saudi Dictator and Saudi Puppet Obama in the scheduled war games with Israel in October, just before the elections. The Saudis will probably blow up an American Ship and blame it on Iran.

    • eddie47d

You still don’t have a clue “factnotrhetoric”. Your one sided swill proves that for you left out the fact that it was Republican Administrations who mostly got us entangled in these Middle East wars. Thanks to Reagan (Iraq and Lebanon) and G. Bush (Iraq and Afghanistan) we are permanently stuck in these protruded wars. They set the stage and made it hard to bring down the curtain. Both Bush’s did much schmoozing with the Saudi Kings so you are blind sided in who coddled the Elites in Saudi Arabia. The simple fact that Israel who has nukes (up to 330) and has made preemptive strikes against Syria and Iraq doesn’t make them an innocent player in these on going conflicts. You need to try more facts and less rhetoric.

      • John

Bush got photographed kissing the Saudi crown prince on the mouth and going for walks in the palace garden holding each others hands, Bush let the Saudis leave the US the day after 9/11. An attack on America that was perpetrated by Saudi Arabia citizens and a Saudi terror organization. I personally still believe that the Saudis used Osama bin Laden and AlQaida to attack the twin towers upon request from their friend Bush. Because if one looks who benefited most from the attacks, it was Saudi Arabia (the removal of Saddam and millions in Arms sales to Saudi and the war on AlQaida that was a big thorn in the Saudis side) and Bush who was able to push his controlling agenda (patriot act) and between him and Cheney made millions through their corporate connections.

      • Joe H

I see you are still giving your hero the pass!!! I guess HIS attacking Libya didn’t have anything what so ever to do with the ever spiraling war machine in the middle east???? The fact that he sent troops to Africa didn’t EXPAND that machine??? Get real, you don’t truly support Ron Paul, you’re too busy kissing Odumberers B hind!!!

    • John

Oh really? Well if you say so, but i.m.h.o. you need to step back and find a way to get a dose of reality.

  • Wyatt

Sounds like tou are pretty good at double speak yourself Bob . I am sure Ron Paul is a good man but I am afraid he is woefully out of touch with the realities of the modern world . To dismiss Iran as non threatening to the U.S. or any other Western country is a big mistake . The twisted hateful minds in power there have only one goal and that is to bring down and destroy America and Western powers and advance radical Islam . This has been the goal since the founding of Islam in the 6th century and can be traced through history . This midieval mindset has beed perpetuated since the overthrow of the Shah and Jimmy Carters failure to support our , at that time ally . Instead we got a bearded madman who destroyed his country’s wealth and political system , and now we have a egomanical idiot running the show and willing to start a new war to become the dominant force. Seems funny that when U.S.Forces were in abundance in Iraq that Iran was relatively quiet . But now that we are withdrawing she wants to rattle the simitar and play tough guy .
Now that being said , all we should be dealing with is the removal of Osama Obama from office and backing the best man to defeat him come November . Ron Paul is not that man and , neither is Mr Romney . Sorry , that is the sad truth . The modern world is no place for isolationism . Yes we could do very nicely without them but then you and all the other experts couldn’t ride around in you over priced Japanese luxery cars or buy the gas to put in them

    • Jay

You need to stop drinking your bath-water, Wyatt; but thanks for the laughs just the same. Btw, how exactly is big-bad Iran capable of destroying America, or Israel for that matter? Well, I suppose they could use their vast nuclear arsenal? Oh wait; they have none! Unlike Israel and the US who have enough stock-piled to liquidate the middle-east 20 times over, and yet, they are the ones playing the victim. Hmm, seems you are no slouch when it comes to the art of double-speak!

      • Michael J.

All that you say is true, but we must not underestimate the will of the Mullahs. Who says they will act conventionally? They could institute a fatwa fielding their vast armada of flying prayer rugs laden with tons of soiled Mullah tuniks. If these tuniks were to be strategically realeased over Isreal’s population centers, the unbearable stench would drive the entire populace into the Mediterranean Sea.

The IAEA does not plan for such catastrophic events, and the blindsighted usage of such a weapon of mass revulsion would be an assault from which no one would recover.

    • eddie47d

I will give Wyatt five stars for beating the war drums and continuing our worldwide fiascos with hyped up propaganda. Once again WE overthrew the Mogadessi government in Iran in 1953 and imposed the puppet Shah. In other words we impossed our will on another nation which embittered their citizens for years. That lead to the revolution and the installment of the Ayatollah. Every time we attempt to stablize the region it back fires and the area is destabalized even further. That’s not a very good track record. I’ll reinterate what I said on Friday in that other religions also impose their beliefs on other nations through conquests. The Christian religion is no exception no matter how hard to try.The Spanish (Catholics) as one example conquered South and Central America. They inslaved its people and millions were put to death in the name of Christ. Far far more have been put to death in the name of our God than in the name of Allah. Kindly add up the number of Muslims killed in the Middle East by American forces verses the number of Christians that have been killed by Muslims. Your walking on quicksand in exploiting Muslim hatred instead of finding a solution to the worlds tragedies.

      • Joe H

Hate to inform you eddie, but what you speak of regarding Christianity is ANCIENT history!! What have they done in the 20th century?? I can’t name one religeon that has done more to ease the suffering of the peoples of the world more than the Christians in that time! THE GOVERNMENT, now, in THEIR INFINITE WISDOM, has done MUCH to keep the wars going! BOTH DEM AND REPUB!!

OMG, you really need to investigate far deeper into whats going on rather than falling for the “MASS Mind PROGRAMING media rhetoric.”
Your post clearly speaks to the fact that you are very deep in the web of the mass of brainwashed drones walking around in that confused state noted as — the
      “Dazed and Confused.”

      Perhaps you should invest a few hours and watch the following;
      Season of Treason 1, 2, and 3.

Then at least you will have an idea of whats wrong, as well how to fix it.
Your choice stay ignorant with that BIG pretty Blue Pill or Take the little RED PILL and open your mind to what you have been missing.

    • John

How do you explain that the country that has the second largest Muslim population in this world is living with them in harmony even though the religious diversity is very large? I am talking about India who has no problem with their Muslim population. All attacks inside India where perpetrated by the followers of radical Sunni sects in Pakistan (you know Sunni like our friends in Saudi Arabia and AlQaida ) The Muslims inside India are moderate shia who look to ….. gasp…. Iran… and don’t try to tell me that there are no moderate Muslims, by trying to do so, you just show your lack of education and that you are brainwashed by the media and the talking heads on AM radio

  • Gregory

We get all the double speak and newspeak we can stand from Obama’s minions in the liberal media. We don’t need any more from a fruitcake that can’t even buy a shirt that fits!–Ron Paul. Can’t believe he is still on the same stage. If anyone thinks that Iran doesn’t pose a nuclear threat, I’ll buy them a ticket to Disneyland. Israel is the ONLY democracy in the Islamic Mid-East and Paul says we shouldn’t support them!? Santorum is the best candidate for President…period!
BTW, we have a “Republic” (acc. to Ben Franklin), not a pure democracy.

    • eddie47d

Iran is not a nuclear threat because they don’t have any nuclear weapons. Just like Iraq wasn’t a nuclear threat because they didn’t have any so we throw up all these false flags to create wars. Welcome to the insanity! Now if you want a world without nukes then set the example and practice what you preach.

    • TIME

      OMG, Gregory,

No we don’t have a Republic, we have something really quite differant as in what we really have is a “CORPORATION,” its a De Facto form of Government.

Perhaps you should open your mind up to whats real and whats not.

Your choice, the Pretty BIG Blue PILL, or the little red pill.

      Peace and Love

    • Patriot Joe

Gregory, it’s refreshing to read someone’s opinion who has bothered to acquaint himself with the facts before he goes public. There are still so many so called intellectuals who insist the US is a democracy. If they bothered to learn our history from the founding fathers voluminous writings, they would know we are a “republic!” That’s where the three legs of our republic are. . .Judicial, legislative and executive. Each one is intended to be a brake on the excesses (read unconstitutional) of the other two.
Unfortunately, it’s not working very well today because as you can see, the executive branch (Obama) is doing all sorts of illegal/unconstitutional acts and the legislative branch (congress) is NOT doing their job by at least defunding Obama’s czars and illegal recess appointments to the National Labor Relations Board. This is stacking the deck for none other than big labor who Obama owes everything.
As for the judicial branch (Supreme Court), they move at a snails pace and any good they do may be too little, too late.
Bottom line, as I see it, our republic can only function as it was intended when you have a congress and judiciary who love and revere our constitution and allow nothing to tamper with it. Today, it seems most of the congress doesn’t even know we are a republic and they all only care about their perks and power which necessitates constant re-election.
      What then, do we do?
It’s clear to me that we must elect as many solid conservatives who truly love their country this November. We must strengthen our hold on the House of Representatives and we must retake the Senate. Needless to say, we must get rid of Obama as soon as possible.
If we don’t do it in 2012, we likely will not get another chance. We will then be no more than slaves to the power brokers in Washington. Do your homework! This is one time when not turning in your homework is unacceptable. Learn about your candidates for office and vote for the most conservative, liberty loving person you can find.
Thanks and may God bless America and heal our land.

Dear Time: Not sure if you’re the magazine or a clock, but you are still deserving of a response.
The constitution says we were founded as a republic and not a democracy. I think I explained sufficiently the various reasons this republic is in grave danger. I won’t disagree that there are all sorts of groups and individuals who are hell bent on power and conquest. That’s why we so very much need our republic restored and defended. Then we can be about restoring our country and help only those other countries who deserve it and appreciate it.
As for Iranian threats to destroy Israel and then come after the great satan (US), Amadhinejad has ranted those very things at the UN on more than one occasion. Iran is responsible for attacks on the USS Cole, Marine barracks in Lebanon, and many other despicable and cowardly attacks on US and other citizens. It is only a couple of months ago that slimy little weasel Amadhinejad stated again that they intend to remove Israel from the world map and drive the jews into the sea.
I doubt you’ll agree, but Israel only responds to thousands of rockets and terrorist acts on their civilian population and they only attack to remove terror elements who are too close for comfort.
No, Israel and the US are not perfect, but Islam and her adherents are fanatical, evil haters and murderers. Iran is the main nation sowing hatred, terror and discord simply because of ancient hatreds that go back to biblical days. Read the old testament about Abraham, his wife Sarah and her handmaiden, Hagar. It was Hagar’s son Ishmael who was indeed fathered by Abraham (with Sarah’s urging) who turned hatred into an art form and his descendents are today’s Islamists who’s thing is, adopt Islam or die. they have stated these things for thousands of years. That hatred came about when his brother was born of Sarah who was too old and had never been able to conceive but did with God’s help. This son then became the true heir of Abraham thus was born the hatred which causes untold death and suffering to this very day. Sarah’s son became the leader of the twelve tribes of Israel.
Finally, just because Iran may not now have the capability to launch missiles at the US, they are working feverishly to do so against Israel and the US when they can. In the meantime, their weapon is terror and using innocent children and young adults to blow themselves up killing many innocents. For this, those mullahs and Ahmadhinejad who will never wear those suicide vests….promise those poor fools who will wear the suicide vests, 72 virgins. Seems there is no shortage of willing dupes.
You clearly demonstrate your juvenile state of mind by suggesting those who disagree with you to take a red or blue pill.
With friends like you, Bob does not need enemies!

I have a very good friend who is Jewish. She even did a few years in isreal. Now, she is a good enough friend that she was part of our wedding in 76 in a methodist church. She was in Isreal back a few years ago when the rockets were coming from the top of the school? She saw the rockets being fired, watched them drop right into the market, killing civillians, women and children. The isreali government warned for three days that if the rockets were not removed from the school they would fire on them. THREE DAYS!! Yes, they finally fired on the school, but any children that were still there were the fault of the Palistinians. I believe they were VERY tolerant! I would not have been that tolerant. Yet the world condemned THEM for firing on that school!!!

OK Time. I have taken the time to to watch Seasons of Treason, some other Kallenbach stuff. Talk about doublespeak and gobbledygook disguised as intellectual. Well, throughout history, there have been many so called intellectuals who taught and spouted garbage wherever they went. Beam me up, Scotty and don’t forget my tinfoil hat.
Most conspiracy theories are salted with just enough truth to make it believable to those who are frightened and desperately seek answers. Black’s law and tomes of that nature again add just enough validity to make them believable. OK, let’s say we take as gospel everything Kallenbach speaks of. What then? What would you have us do? Resign from the country because it’s a fiction? It’s silly. You’ll never convince enough souls to buy into your solutions. Even if you did, what would they do. Form an army of pitchfork patriots? Run off to Canada?
I listened to as well. From Northern Europe, no less.
Yeah, those people have the answers for US citizens. Right! All of Europe is about to collapse once again because they believe this fiction that the only way to keep the people from rising up, is to give them everything. Doesn’t work, never has, and never will. Sooner or later, you run out of other people’s money and then the people really are pissed. You got them accustomed to freebies and they don’t want to give it up.

You and Livingston are true conspiracy nutcases and Ron Paul is your hero. That’s your right and have a good time, but Paul will never be president. I agree with a lot you say. The US is not what it should be, especially under dictator Obama. I pray the people have finally seen through this tin horn fraud community organizer and will be heard loud and clear this November.

Livingston is arrogant and a true believer of his conspiracies and Ron Paul, but he is not so ignorant as to insult his readers with name calling and smarmy references to symbolic “pills.”
You, on the other hand, Time, are smarmy, ignorant and arrogant. You believe in your truth passionately, but you don’t prove it. Maybe lots of it is true, but Kallenbach states he knows we have been lied to and he will prove it. He did not. He just stated his beliefs based on the people he listens to and the books he believes in.
Arrogant folks like you tell us to take a red pill of truth, but clearly, you partake daily of the blue pill of ignorance.

For my part, I don’t know if there is an old and active conspiracy against we the people, but I do know the US is in deep trouble under Obama and we need to get him out of power as soon as possible. Not with violence. That is the tactic of the left while they preach peace and tolerance.

I won’t waste any more of my time on you and Livingston. Neither of you add anything constructive to the solution. You are both loyal soldiers to your cause, whatever it may be.
If you read my stuff carefully, you would know I never said we live under the constitution nor are we living as a true republic. Far from it. I said we were founded as a republic and that is very different from a democracy. Obama is trashing our constitution every day. It’s not perfect, only God is perfect, but our constitution is supposed to be the laws we live by. I only wish we could return to a more close approximation of our constitution, but we are far from that.

      • Bob Livingston

        Dear Patriot Joe,

You write: “You and Livingston are true conspiracy nutcases…” For every fact that I present I provide documentation and/or sources. Conspiracy means to act in harmony toward a common end. How does my pointing out that there people within government working in harmony to achieve a common end make me a “nutcase?” Could it be that you are so frightened by the facts that I present that you are forced to dismiss them as implausible without examining the evidence? That is a common reaction for people suffering from normalcy bias, as is your response in the form of ad hominems.

You write: “Livingston is arrogant…” You assume much for one has never met me.

If you have proof that anything I write is inaccurate, I would appreciate your posting it here.

        Best wishes,

        • Patriot Joe

Mr Livingston: This is probably something you don’t see very often, but I write to admit to you that you were right in your assertions about some of the things I said.
Fact is, I am guilty of deep frustration at people like Time, Dave H, and others of their ilk who seem to feel they are the way and the truth and the light. If anyone indicates they’re not drinking the Kool Aid, they become condescending and arrogant.
The smarmy suggestions that one should take a red pill if they can’t see their so called truth, is very annoying.
Other great annoyances are directed at those who can’t spell and form a cogent and intelligent sentence. In response, you get called silly names and are shown great intolerance.
I have been reading your stuff for quite some time, Mr Livingston and I generally agree with 99% of what you say.
We’re in agreement that Obama has to go and that his is a singularly corrupt administration. I only pray we can survive him and get rid of him no later than the November election.
In responding to Time, I confess I lumped you into his category of weird conspiracy theorists. It’s not that I don’t believe there are active conspiracies attempting to secularize this country and strip us of our constitution. But I think Time and some others are way out there and they don’t add to the solution.
I apologize again for berating you when in fact you do go to great lengths to give your sources in your blogs and you don’t stoop to name calling when defending yourself. At times, you do sound a little superior when responding to someone whose facts were somewhat less than factual, but as you already know, I would find it hard to be as patient as you are.
Thanks for reading this. We all should be willing to look at ourselves honestly and admit our shortcomings. I have plenty of them, but I keep trying.

maybe you should stop being so afraid of what you don’t understand and do some studying. Read up on Denmark and see how an advanced social society lives and behaves and the benefits that they have freely chosen to bestow on themselves by all agreeing to pay higher taxes. The results speak for themselves.

      • Jay

Yes Eric, we should all read up on Denmark!

There seems to be a new (perhaps a recycled) argument about the greatness of socialism circulating around these days. I’m not sure what brought it forth, but I suspect it all started recently after Oprah did a profile of the country of Denmark. Denmark, as you may know, is a country with quite a lot of social programs. And so the argument goes: Denmark has a lot of socialism and is a successful country, therefore socialism is good.

There are two main problems with this argument:
        1. Is socialism the cause of Denmark’s relative success? Or are there other more significant contributing factors?
        2. Is Denmark really such a smashing success?

Problem #1: Denmark’s population consists of no more than two guys named Bjorn for crying out loud! Yet people are so ready to use it as a general example with comparisons to the U.S. Thought Experiment: Let’s just try Denmark’s policies in the U.S. and see how it all works out… will it work out the same way?

Denmark is a tiny country with a homogeneous society, which has been settled in the same place for many generations. It’s of a specific European culture and ethnicity, and has a uniform mindset with strong collectivist tendencies that look down upon extraordinary success. Now, *WITH SARCASM* I can’t possibly imagine why similar collectivist welfare policies won’t work the same in the U.S.?

The United States, in contrast to Denmark, is a huge country with an extremely diverse population. It has very large population segments originating from very poor 3rd world countries, and a much more individualistic mindset. Therefore, any socialist program implemented in the U.S. has a much greater potential of becoming an unsustainable burden on (the productive part of) society. Comparing Denmark to the U.S. is essentially equivalent to cherry-picking the best working tiny part of European socialism and facing it off with the whole U.S. This is like taking stats for just American Jews, for example, and comparing those to stats of Europe as a whole. Who do you think is going to come out ahead?

Problem #2: Is Denmark really that successful? Despite its clear cultural advantages over the U.S. (from the perspective of making socialist policies work), and its “cherry picked” tiny size, it’s far from being a clear winner in standard of living and economics… to say the least! The arguably most successful part of European socialism isn’t as great as many make it out to be.

        Here are some stats:

The average (2007) full time wage in Denmark is $39,143. In the U.S. it’s $49,483. 26% more. (Source: Wikipedia)

It is also true that in the U.S. the average worker works 25% more hours than in Denmark. (Source: Wikipedia) So one may argue that most of the increase in earnings is due to more work and hence less free time. However, it’s also indicative of greater opportunity for full employment or more work if one should choose to. And furthermore, the total household income in the U.S. is more than that of Denmark’s over and above the 25% increase in working hours…

The average (2004) household income in Denmark is $22,524. In the U.S. it’s $32,195. 43% more. (Source: Wikipedia)

In Denmark people receive more services and assistance from the government than they do in the U.S., however, they also pay WAY more taxes, and material things are WAY more expensive. The income tax in Denmark goes up to 63%, the highest rate in the world. (Source: Wikipedia) And don’t think that it’s only a few rich people who pay that tax rate. The highest tax bracket in Denmark starts at 347,200 DKK (2009), which is about $66,000 per year. (Source:

Denmark has a value added tax (a.k.a VAT, which is similar to sales tax) of 25%, again the highest in the world. By comparison, the highest sales tax levied in the U.S. is about 10%. (Source: Wikipedia) But it doesn’t end there. In addition to the general VAT, citizens are required to part with more of their money for special things the government targets for extra taxation. Cars, for example, are taxed at around a 200% level, making 2/3 of the cost of a car in Denmark go to taxes. This is effectively like paying for a luxury car and getting a compact.

So first the major portion of your income is taken away, and then to add insult to injury, the government makes sure that whatever you can buy with the measly remnants of your money is much more expensive.

Now, with all that in mind, I think it’s instructive to watch Oprah’s profile of “wonderful” Denmark. Notice how when Oprah visits a “typical” Danish family’s apartment, she keeps repeating stuff like, “this is your whole bedroom?”, “that’s your whole refrigerator?”, “this is the whole bathroom?”, “this is the bed?”, etc. Oprah is shocked at how small and spartan everything is. And that apartment is actually rather upscale as far as Copenhagen apartments go. Here is a link to the video of Oprah’s Danish apartment tour on her Web site.

In addition to the austere, but supposedly happy lifestyle of its people, Denmark is facing long term problems.

The citizens of Denmark are reportedly among the happiest in the world. They are so happy, in fact, that young educated people who have a shot at earning a good salary are leaving Denmark in large numbers to work and earn elsewhere. They get a government paid education in Denmark, and then leave to work where taxes are lower. How can this possibly be sustainable? This New York Times article describes the ramifications of the problem, which include a skilled labor shortage.

      • DaveH

There’s only one problem with your logic, Eric — Denmark is one of the top 15
Economically Freest countries in the world. On’s Economic Freedom scale they rank 11th (right below the US). And on the Fraser Institute’s Economic Freedom scale they rank 15th.
If you want examples of Socialist Countries (whose governments are heavily involved in the economy) you need to look to Cuba, or Venezuela, or North Korea, or some other such Progressive Paradise.

        The Scandinavian Welfare states:

      • eddie47d

You can call those Scandinavian countries whatever you like.Yet if they are doing well and fairly thriving then quit knocking them. Sweden has a high tax rate 57% but nothing like 102% which Mises brings up to scare folks. Their Corporate rate is 27% which is lower than US. So is Norway and Denmark’s corporate rate lower.(about 28%).Since our corporations receive so much welfare I reckon we could call us a Corporate Welfare State.

  • michaels57Michael

I have never believed everything that I have read from the media elitist, to include what I have read about Doublethink. Rememeber Orwells 1984 is a book to be read for entertainment, although it has some truth to it. Prime example, “there are WMD in Iraq, and we must go in a distroy Saddam and his WMD’S, Now”, and the moral to that story is, no WMD’S and over 5000 dead US Military personel. So, what we hear from the Media, and our Government, may or may not have truth baring on it’s content. So, what do we do? what do we believe? Who side do we take? My only answer is, do we love this country enough to know that there are many Hitlers in this great big world of our’s, and knowing this, we can say, anything is possible, and because there are many view’s and opinions, America must do the grown up things to protect our country, and our children, and that is to decide thru prayer, asking God, then go with our heart’s direction believing that God speaks thru the Heart. And, just like knowing what truth is in this world, we may never know until we act, thru what we believe through the information that is provided for us through others, and then related back thru media. So, it comes full circle right back to what we hear thru the media, and hoping that what we hear are not lie’s, but truth.

  • Mark Are

Bob, if we’re as totalitarian as it was during Abraham Lincoln’s reign you would be getting arrested and charged with sedition just for writing this article. Now I do realize that could happen at any minute, but if it does I suspect those 30 billion rounds of ammunition that have been sold since Obama took office might start getting put to some use other than aluminum cans. And yes, it OBVIOUSLY is a lot more totalitarian than anyone with an ounce of sense would like to see that it is. The only thing we seem to have a bit of left is free speech on-line with articles like this. I know “they” must really hate it, but that’s too bad.

    • John

Mark, read up on microwave crowd control and then tell me again what you want to do with your billions of rounds… remember, the time that the government was afraid of rifles and handguns in the hands of citizens is long gone, the government has worked for years to get around that dilemma and between microwave crowd control weapons and acoustic weapons citizens really don’t stand much chance. this is not the mid east where the governments have nothing to fight the crowds, this is the US where a weapon can be mounted to a drone and target you from 20000 ft up.

      • DaveH

The fact that Government is working diligently to disarm us belies your assertion, John.

      • Joe H

Then why, pray tell, don’t they use them in the middle east on the enemy??? Seems to me that the people would rally around the government for being benevolent for not killing the enemy!!! Hell, the world would clammer for them to be used!!

“The war on terror is a smokescreen for perpetual war that benefits the military-industrial complex and the banksters…”

Another eye-opening piece Bob — well done. And I believe the above quote clearly points out the main reason that drives foreign policy in the modern & contemporary USSA.

The Dept of Defense — correctly renamed The Dept of Offense — has been on an increasing & perpetual manhunt world-wide for monsters to destroy. They claim to be protecting us good citizens from a veritable infinite number of evil-doers, requiring ever-expanding budgets for new toys to play with. And these protectors of ours, these doers of good against evil, are of course influenced & encouraged & prodded & cajoled to keep right on fighting by those deceitful, cunning, & often “invisible” members of society that make up that entity known by the esoteric name of “the military-industrial complex”.

Now if you just happen to be a member of that privileged cartel (the parasites who make bombs for a living), and many who visit this site are, I can only say enjoy the gravy train while it lasts. And I hope you sleep well at night trying to live with your conscience. Those of you not owing your existence to special gov’t privilege, you better wake up soon as time is getting very short. Things are about to get very unpleasant.

mr. livingston forgot to mention that anyone (especially whites) who opposes barack obama’s policies and actions is awarded the label racist. :/

    • John

Labels are a part of life inside the US. People use the antisemitic label as indiscriminately as the Nazi, communist, Marxist, socialist, conservative or racist label…. in 99% of the cases, people don’t even know the definition of that label and just use them to sound …well… educated or radical lol… in most cases they don’t even realize how uneducated and feeble minded they appear using labels that way. They just repeat (like parrots) what they are spoon feed by the talking heads on AM radio, TV or some of the nut blogs on the web. Most people are lemmings, followers, because they have forgotten what it means to independently think.

Many good opinions, here. My view is that Obama is the worst case scenario. Romney, Gingrich and Santorum all have negatives and in one way or another are part of the current political culture. Of the three, I believe Gingrich would do more, quickly to improve our government woes. Ron Paul would be my choice, hands down, if limited only to fiscal, big government concerns, but his foreign policy ideas about our role militarily are woefully naive, as several of the foregoing replies. Whether we like it or not, we have been thrust into the role of policing the world. It doesn’t make others like us more, but most understand our role in protecting them, even when they criticize us. If we pull back all of our troops and close our bases, we create a vacuum of world stability that will be filled, quickly, by Russia and / or China. I don’t think that would bode well for us. We are at a serious crossroads, and we need the strongest leadership, which we are dramatically lacking with Obama in office. Incidentally, I was part of the military intelligence community in the Viet Nam era, and I can attest to the misinformation in media. They were either given bad info or were a part, even back then, in intentional misdirection. Those of us who really knew what was happening were amazed at how different the media reporting was.

    A few applicable quotes:

“…add profit, power, and privilege to a long list of beneficiaries: elected and appointed officials, corporate executives and corporate lobbyists, admirals and generals, functionaries staffing the national security apparatus, media personalities, and policy intellectuals from universities and research organizations. Each year the Pentagon expends hundreds of billions of dollars to raise and support U.S. military forces. This money lubricates American politics, filling campaign coffers and providing a source of largesse — jobs and contracts — for distribution to constituents. It provides lucrative “second careers” for retired U.S. military officers hired by weapons manufacturers or by consulting firms appropriately known as “Beltway Bandits.” It funds the activities of think tanks that relentlessly advocate for policies guaranteed to fend off challenges to established conventions. “Military-industrial complex” no longer suffices to describe the congeries of interests profiting from and committed to preserving the national security status quo.” – “Washington Rules”, Andrew Bacevich

“The only positive thing that can be said about a zombie war is that it provides entertainment for millions. The masses are awed by the latest military technology…and by the demonstrations of brute force. Their minds go numb from the pounding, exploding action…and their chests swell, as it is their boys kicking butt.” – Bill Bonner 11-4-11

Many nations that are now being stirred to war will join together and come against Israel but all will be destroyed. It will take seven months to bury the dead and seven years to dismantle the weapons of war. The alignment of the nations seem to be complete; and in my opinion, they are only waiting on the new president of Russia known as Magog before God puts the hooks into their jaws and draws them into battle. I say, “Beware the nukes of Russia once they are defeated in Israel.” Iran, which is Persia, will be right in the midst of it all. I would be surprised if this battle does not happen before the November election. It will happen because God is true and His written Word is True. It will be on His timetable contrary to what men may think or say but He did say that when certain events happen to look up for our redemption is drawing near..

    • John

Nope we never learn, The main reason the British lost their grasp on India and with it the collapse of their empire was that the British did not give a rats arse about the peoples religion and spiritual needs. They trampled the religious rights of the people in India. The fact that the “gentlemen” used religious texts to light their cigars was one of the reasons for their downfall. They would still rule India today if they would have left the peoples religions alone and would have given the religious books temples and monks the freedom and protection needed.
What happened in Afghanistan is exactly why the world calls us ugly Americans, we did not think and in our arrogance did not cared about the peoples religion…. a bad mix if you are in a country that you have invaded and try to keep the general population from rising up against you.

Ron Paul and Buchanan are no more anti-Semites than Hitler and Himmler were.

    • John

Actually, Hitler was not antisemitic, Hitler was a devout Christian and conservative. He believed (in accordance with the RCC doctrine at that time that Jews killed Christ) that by killing Jews he was doing gods work. Hitler believed (just as most RCC followers at that time) that Jews where descendent of Judas Iscariot the traitor who killed Jesus. If you want to read about Hitlers take on religion, read his speeches and his book. I know that some people try to picture him as not being a christian or not being religious because they can’t understand how a christian or follower of god could do those atrocities but one has to look at the RCC teachings at that time to understand. In his religious zeal, Hitler was not any different then the pope and noble men that undertook the crusades that killed millions, the Spanish inquisition, or the Spanish conquest of middle and South America that killed an estimated 65 million all in the name of the christian god.

      • http://liberty Tony

Suggest you read and understand Bob’s list of “More doublethink” and start taking a daily dose of R-O-T; starting with these words of wisdom:

Ten Concluding Quotations: Socrates, “There is only one good, knowledge, and one evil, ignorance.” Heraclitus, “All is flux, nothing stays still; nothing endures but change.” Voltaire, “Work keeps us from the three great evils of boredom, vice, and poverty.”; Einstein, “Imagination is more important than knowledge, knowledge is limited, imagination encircles the world.”; Bacon, “Nature, to be commanded, must be obeyed.” Gibson, “The future is already here – just unevenly distributed.” Schumpeter, “The modern mind dislikes gold because it blurts out unpleasant truths.” Nietzsche, “There are no facts only interpretations.”; Schopenhauer, “The task is not so much to see what no one yet has seen, but to think what no mind yet has thought about that which everyone sees… But life is short, and truth works far and lives long so, let us [always] speak the truth.” Goethe’s Faust, “By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.”

The Jews hate the Arabs (who are Semites) as much as the Arabs hate the Jews (who are Semites). Yet they trace their lineage back to a common ancestor.

Ralph, are you an anti-Semite? Do you know someone who is? Take this simple test and find out. Don’t be surprised if you discover some painful truths about yourself and your country.

      1. Abraham was the Biblical ancestor of Arabs and Jews. Thus, logically, each group should be treated equally and with respect. True or false? If you answered True, you are anti-Semitic because you hate the Jews.

      2. The US foreign policy favors Israel and punishes her enemies. True or false? If you answered True you are obviously anti-Semitic.

      3. The Federal Reserve Bank, which controls US money and thus controls America, is based in London, England and is headed by Jewish peoples. True or false? If you answered False, you are not necessarily anti-Semitic but simply uninformed.

      4. Many powerful US Congressmen, senators and representatives, whether Republican or Democrat, travel to Israel but never travel to Iran or Syria on all-expenses-paid fact-finding missions, thus their bias towards Israel and against Iran. True or false? If you answered True, you know your current events but probably have anti-Semitic tendencies.

      5. Many powerful Hollywood moviemakers are Jewish. Thus almost all movie villains (Nazis, Muslims, Islamic terrorists, Catholic pedophiles) are enemies of Jews—but never, ever are Jewish people portrayed as evil. True or false? If you answered True you hate the Jews and are anti-Semitic.

      6. Jews are among the best and worst people in the world. But Jews enjoy far more influence and positions of power, relative to their numbers, than any other comparable group of people in the US. True or false? If you answered True you are a neo-Nazi skinhead AND an anti-Semite.

      7. Jewish people enjoy high places of power in the US government and media, but many of them also hold foreign passports for Israel. Doesn’t that create problems of loyalty? True or false? If you answered True, you obviously hate America and side with the Arab terrorist–or perhaps you are an Al Qaeda member and should be imprisoned.

If you answered True to any of the above seven simple questions, you have definite anti-Semitic tendencies. If you answered True to ALL seven, you will be among the first anti-Semites to be rounded up and put into a concentration camp.

“The Third World War must be fomented by taking advantage of the differences caused by the “agentur” of the “Illuminati” between the political Zionists and the leaders of Islamic World. The war must be conducted in such a way that Islam (the Moslem Arabic World) and political Zionism (the State of Israel) mutually destroy each other.

Meanwhile the other nations, once more divided on this issue will be constrained to fight to the point of complete physical, moral, spiritual and economical exhaustion…We shall unleash the Nihilists and the atheists, and we shall provoke a formidable social cataclysm which in all its horror will show clearly to the nations the effect of absolute atheism, origin of savagery and of the most bloody turmoil.

Then everywhere, the citizens, obliged to defend themselves against the world minority of revolutionaries, will exterminate those destroyers of civilization, and the multitude, disillusioned with Christianity, whose deistic spirits will from that moment be without compass or direction, anxious for an ideal, but without knowing where to render its adoration, will receive the true light through the universal manifestation of the pure doctrine of Lucifer, brought finally out in the public view.

This manifestation will result from the general reactionary movement which will follow the destruction of Christianity and atheism, both conquered and exterminated at the same time.” –Albert Pike -in a letter- to Mazzini, dated August 15, 1871

Or, we could all become TOTALLY RETARDED and support the RETARD Ron Paul!
Bob, I agree with you on several fronts, that our Constitution has been slowly rendered null and void, but it is, by no means, dead!
We can still revive it, but not with just one election, or just by getting rid of the current REGIME in the White Mosque!
We also need to elect REPRESENTATIVES that will fully support and HONOR the Constitution, and take both chambers of Congress, including increasing the majority in the House of Representatives.
    Next, we need TERM LIMITS!
Politics were NEVER intended to be a CAREER!
The longer politicians stay inside the beltway, INCLUDING Ron Paul, just begin to lose touch with REALITY, and forget that they are working for the citizens, and not the other way around!
If we can do these things, we MIGHT have a chance of preserving this REPUBLIC and the Constitution!
Also, Bob, we have NEVER been a democracy! Until this Nation realizes the difference between a democracy (like Greece, Canada, France….) and a CONSTITUTIONAL REPRESENTATIVE REPUBLIC form of Government, we will NEVER be free!

    • http://gmail sancheleezy

You sound somewhat intelligent and then you go and stick your big foot in your mouth and call the very person who corroborates your position fully a retard. You are the RETARDED ONE when you do not see the forest for the trees. Dr. Ron Paul is the answer as he has been consistent with his message of Liberty and the Bill of Rights since he served in the military and was first elected to Congress. You Mr. Marshall are your own worst enemy———wake up and think and think about just what you are saying.

      • Jay

Dittos, sancheleezy, Ron Paul’s integrity, and unwavering consistency; above reproach!

let’s not re-elect Barack Obama in November.

Who the hell elected him in the first place?
      need I say more?

I am so disapointed with America today and my fellow Americans. There seems to be no common sense anymore. I fought the commies to help rid the world of oppression and repression, just to come home and later realize our brainwashed citizens have elected a type of people that want to establish the very thing that untold numbers of good men died fighting against. In my time of service, ” God and country.” were unashamebly patriotic words. Today this country is rapidly going in the direction to make those thoughts, much less to speak those words a crime.

    • Jim C.

Sammy: Have you considered Rick Santorum? If you care about “God and country”, it seems to me he’s about as close as you can get. One of Santorum’s problems politically is that he is seen by some as too strong on the “God and country” idea.

      • Michael J.

        Jim C.,
Sure, Santorum is OK, if you like a status quo big government president
who would continue spending us down the road to financial oblivion.

    • Michael J.

      Sammy Hood,

I agree 100%. The only way back to those days with our current list of candidates is to vote for Ron Paul.

  • Paul ED Johnson II

I like Ron & Rand. Nice guys, intellegent, courageous, believers in JESUS. However, the position that we have nothing to fear from Iran (more specifically radical MUSLIMS), shiahs & sunnis alike, is tanamount to calling a turd…a flower. Next, you’ll probably say the Holocaust never happened & Hitler, Stalin, & Mao were just “misunderstood” patriots. What is Sen. Ron’s position on 2nd Amendment, Amendment 26, supporting Israel…always…regardless, & most importantly the destruction of America by socialist agendas & progressive/liberal ideologies. OOPS! Almost forgot about the devaluation of the world’s reserve currency. That would be…hmm…OH YEAH!…the American dollar! I find the current herd of Republican choices, including Sen. Paul, boring, effeminate, and barely able to stand up to the OWH (Occupier of the White House) with crutches. I find your article, Mr. Livingston, denigrating, insulting, and nothing more than the same old mud-slinging crap every1 (newspeak, in case you missed it) is engaged in. You want to win? Amendment 26…it’ll piss every single member of congress & the POTUS off like nothing you’ve ever seen. And, by-the-way, that’s how you’ll know you are on the right track. Also, it would do your platform a whole lot of good, to include “top–down” Judicial Reform! HAND! (Have A Nice Day)! Every1 should read 1984.

A vote for any of the big 4, OBAMA, Romney, Gingrich or Santorum is a vote for more of the same. I have listened to all the debates, watch OBAMA daily on the MSM and the only candidate that I can see that is for real change to bring the country back is Dr. Ron Paul.
Keep on trucking, Doc! Ron Paul-2012

I am always baffled by Christians who scream about Muslims trying to take over the world. Of course they want everyone to be Muslim! Religions teach that sort of thing.

I have never met an Evangelical Christian who didn’t think everyone in the world should be Christian. ALL religions teach that sort of thing.

How are the goals of these two religions different?

    • Joe H

I haven’t met any christians in my 61 years of life that told me convert or die!! There HAVE been people told that by muslims!!

  • Paul Anthony

I’m always baffled by Christians screaming about how Muslims are trying to take over the world. Of course they are, because religions make people believe everyone should believe the same thing.

I’ve never met an Evangelical Christian that didn’t believe everyone should be a Christian, because that is what their religion teaches.

How are the goals of these two religions different?

    • Joe H

nother thing, paul. I’m a Christian and I have only told people they should be Christian if they CHOOSE to be. Christianity doesn’t work if you don’t want to be a cChristian. You Have to accept GOD!!

    • Jim C.

I’m amazed that anyone would equate radical Islam with evangelical Christianity based on the fact that Christians “believe everyone should be a Christian”. That’s like saying a convenience store manager is the same as an armed robber – the goal of each is to get your money. Do you not see any difference between those Christians who try to convince others to voluntarily share their beliefs because they think it will make them happier and improve their overall quality of life, as well as give them “eternal life”, and those Islamists whose goal is to convert everyone they can, whether by threat, intimidation or raw force (including torture and death). The store manager would like everyone to purchase something from his store and therefore tries to convince them to do so, by advertising, price discounts, etc., while the armed robber uses brute force, threatening bodily injury or death, and offering nothing in return for the money. I would expect any child to understand that!

  • Liberterian

It is sad but you speak the truth. The constitution has for decades and even from the beginning been paid only lip service. The civil war was about federal power and the confederate states in their effort to leave the federal union payed a very severe, brutal price for their transgression.
We have for too long been the sheep while the politicians, the wealthy elit classes and powerful corporation powerbrokers, through their perpetual hold on government have continued to solidify their grip over us. They use our own faith in the constitution to debase it. The industrial military complex continues to grow while we continue to suffer. Soon the idea of a totalitarian system will be our rulers.
And here we sit, bickering about liberal and conservative fantasies, while the new world order materializes and spreads its far reaching, intrusive tentacles into the deepest recesses of our lives. Her we sit listening with naivity to the propoganda from the bought and paid for corporate media that deceive us. We have been residing like programable puppets in a facist country as true believers of the masters machiavellian orchastra.
The power of technology and the growing power of police over our democratic ideals will one day watch and guide so sucessfully our lives.
Thank you Bob LIvingston for trying to awaken the euphoric in their enigmatic slumber.
Let’s all dream that a different world lies before us with a still wonderful horizon of golden glow and dreams that fulfil, not a world where individuality fell along the roadside drift and fall forgotten with the trash left behind by careless men.
If only a Ron Paul could wrench the sword from the demon kind and slash the tentacles of the masters. The day may come when we live in a country like Iran where freedom is dictated by that which the government allows you to do. The golden theocracy where church and state have so intricitly been melded.

    Sleep tight you all.

Clever actions by President Obama to be re-elected this year !

    1) Most Evangelicals/Fundamentalist are very Pro-Israel …….
    2) President Obama is right now Pro-Israel …..
    3) Ron Paul is neutral constitutional on foreign policy …

therefore Simian Pete says Obama will receive many Evangelical/Fundamentalist Christian votes … just like President Clinton did … In what quantity I do not know specifically.

Ron Paul is Pro-Life – like majority of conservative Christendom ……

Obama is extra Pro-Israel (in contrast to Ron Paul’s foreign policy of zero $) – like majority of conservative Christendom …….

What will win ? I do not know ….

But American Christendom (conservative) is now being divided …….

Also another pattern – it’s an empirical pattern ! From hindsight ….

Republican Party always claim Pro-Life, Pro-Israel before elections . When Republican Party is majority party in power, they become more Pro-Choice and Anti-Israel ……

George W. Bush, try to force Israel to give up land to hostile “Palestinians” ….
Republican Party when in power, tries to become “Big Tent” party. – more Pro-Life, more Pro-Gay etc…..

That is the pattern. Even Ronald Reagan was Pro-Choice when Governor of California ….

Dr. Dobson of Focus on the Family once complained how the Republicans promise but don’t deliver ???

I’ve said enough, Anyone have a banana ?

    • simian pete

      Correction to above,

      When I wrote

“Republican Party when in power, tries to become “Big Tent” party. – more Pro-Life, more Pro-Gay etc…..”

I meant “Republican Party when in power, tries to become “Big Tent” party. – more PRO-CHOICE, more Pro-Gay etc…..”

      Sorry for mistake …

Mr Livingston seems a little bit on the daffy side, if you ask me.

Quoted from the article: “Iran is pursuing research that could put it in a position to build a weapon, but that it has not sought to do so”

So they only want to be able to build a weapon, but don’t actually want to build the weapon. Hmmm. In what universe does that make any sense?

I disagree that the Jewish/Israeli lobby drives American foreign policy in the Middle East. I actually think the Saudi lobby (i.e., oil power and $$$) dictates American actions. The Saudis felt threatened by Saddam Hussein — we took him out (twice, technically). The Saudis are currently feeling threatened by Iran — we’re currently beating the war drums. Israel is now “flipping us the bird” as far as Iran is concerned and saying that they will strike Iran whether we’re on board or not. That would hardly be the case if the Israeli lobby was pulling the strings in D.C.

  • Winston Smith

Back at the height of the Cold War an analogy was drawn of the US and the USSR as “2 angry men in a locked room armed with a knife and a hand grenade with the pin out”. Either could stab the other at any time – but the stabbed fellow would drop the grande and they’d BOTH be dead!
What it seem we have in the Middle East is the same room, the same weaponry but, maybe, a dozen angry men!
BTW, guess how I came up with my Screen name.

This is the last day of the month.

GREAT article Bob, and a “truer” TRUTH could never have been made and if I had written what you just did I would be told to go back to Canada :-)

…and yes there will be comments from the sheeple, rednecks, uninformed calling you what in fact THEY are.

Will there ever be a national TV talk show for The PATRIOTS? This was a well written, to the point article. The Parasites must be removed, one term politicians and there health care/benefits will be the same as the tax payers, ONE PENISION for ALL public employees, close the boarders, those employing ILLEGALS WILL BE PROSECUTED, flat tax for EVERYONE, (wealthy, middle class and poor) drug test those on welfare (no pass no check), low income housing will be on military bases or next door, NO CAMPAIGN DONATIONS over $100,000, SMALLER GOVT/NO INTERVENTION (get out of the middle east conflict) Our STRONG MILITARY DEFENSE should be just that, “STRONG DEFENSE A HOME”! Follow the CONSTITUTION/TEN COMMANDMENTS and GOD BLESS US ALL!

I “read” Orwell’s “1984″ via a good rendition on once before I got really interested in politics.
I tried to go through it again more recently and seeing how close to “prophesy” his book was/is I couldn’t get past the first half hour!
It ought to be ‘required reading’ for all Conservatives – to get an idea of what the Obama cabal plan next!
Also, I downloaded the full text so I can quote the actual passages. The parallels are truly frightening!
P.S. “Winston Smith”? NOW I know why I had to add his ID number for MY SN!
