Obama’s ‘safe Schools Czar’ Comes Under Fire

October 23, 2009 by

Obama's 'safe schools czar' comes under fire A group of House Republicans, supported by the Family Research Council, has sent a letter to the White House calling for the removal of Kevin Jennings from his position as the head of the Education Department’s Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools (OSDFS).

The lawmakers alleged that Jennings, who is openly gay, promotes a pro-homosexual agenda among the nation’s schoolchildren, which does not agree with the values many parents want to impart to their children, according to the Washington Examiner.

"It is clear that Mr. Jennings lacks the appropriate qualifications and ethical standards to serve" as deputy secretary for the OSDFS, the letter states.

Conservatives have criticized Jennings for introducing gay themes into elementary school classrooms, being hostile to those who offer resources on how to overcome same-sex attraction and failing to report an incident involving an alleged sexual abuse of a student.

Critics also say he has never expressed regret over his own use of illegal drugs and alcohol in the past.

Family Research Council President Tony Perkins supported the letter saying, "We applaud these 53 House members for seeking to uphold basic ethical standards within the Department of Education."

He added, "No administration official is more deserving of removal than Kevin Jennings."

President Obama appointed Jennings as head of the OSDFS last July.

In reading this very informative news letter I was particularly interested in expatriation info.
The sad fact is this; those who have the means to do this can choose to do so but the rest of us who have been cleaned out, chewed up and spit out have no such options.
This gov is intent on bleeding this nation dry and calls that loving the nation…BS!
The article addresses a specific sector of people and the specific sector of Citizens it does NOT address is the Rest of us!
Every one of the czars should be investigated by Congress and Senate Before they are allowed to draw a penny so why aren’t they investigated? Why are any investigations After the fact and the American Citizens do the JOB of the Congress and Senate in exposing these people for what they actually are…Obamas buddies!
He goes to trial in January for inelegebility to set in the seat he claims as leader yet he and his buddies and for the majority the Congress and the Senate continue to bulldoze their way through and over the Constitution, the Rights of American Citizens and the LAW (and I am NOT refering to the Color of Law) I am refering to Constitutional Law!
Anyone doing anything under the premise of his being in office regardless of his ineligible status and so he must be ‘allowed’ to remain term is disgusting!
No…American Citizens will defend America, The American Constitution, Bill Of Rights and Freedom ON this soil if Congress and Senate do not get off their assetts and do their job whether they are democrat or republican! American Citizens do not run and hide!

    • JeffH

You said it all with this statement: American Citizens will defend America…It is obvious that as citizens, we must yell loud and clear our dissagreement with our government’s attempted takeover of our beliefs in freedoms. This administration, in particular, is hell bent on changing the face of America forever. With Obama’s ideals and smooth talk and the money, socialistic leadership of anti-American George Soros, spells doom for our America. We must not and cannot allow this travesty to continue. Rise up all and tell DC to stop their attacks and honor the oath they took that promised to protect America. We must correct the wrongs of former administrations that now threaten to dismantle The Constitution, as it was intended , and your freedom forever.

      • DaveH

        Jeff,
My neighbor is from Checkoslovakia. He and wife fled to US in the early 70s. They have seen this all before and don’t hold out much hope for the United States.
He is convinced Obama and crew are going to shut down Glenn Beck and others. We must decide now that if anything like that happens, we vote out all incumbents. And put in their place people who will work hard to greatly reduce the size of Big Government.

        • libertytrain

DaveH – I wonder was there a lot of snickering (without realizing what that could really mean)about FOX getting shutout initially yesterday – I don’t recall any other time a national large network was refused entry? I don’t know much about what happened, just the very little I caught walking through a room – but it made a couple hairs stand high and a little shudder throughout my body —

          • ccg

Obama and the White House are “after” Fox News and have told the other news networks that they should not follow the same format as Fox News. Now what is this that the White House is doing? Sounds a lot like we are losing the Freedom of the Press.

This President has gone way too far in all of this. We need to stand and complain and let our voices and votes be heard and seen.

          • ccg

By the way, the Obama administration lost this battle. He is still at war with Fox, but the Republicans stood up and complained as well as the rest of the News Heads that be, said if we can’t have a free press here in this country it won’t work.
Yippee, hoorayy and hallelujah for freedom of the press and the fact that they stood up for freedom and it counted.
This is what we all must do. Stand up for freedom.

          • JeffH

It really shows the lack of leadership when the WH has to stoop to a “grade school” mentality. All they need to do is be honest and transparent. They can’t answer The Fox communities accusations and hate being exposed. Didn’t the Dems use these same tactics when they went after Palin? If they can’t take the heat, then get out of the kitchen.

          • eyeswideopen

Liberty, Bush’s Press Sec. stated three days ago, that they shut out MSNBC during the last 8 months of their admin. If you look at photo’s of Bush with media reporters, you will notice, that there are no liberals in the pictures. Come on, are you serious? You think that no other Presidents didn’t give interviews to people they didn’t like? This paraoia is getting stupid. This President is doing exactly what others have done, but for some reason, (what could that reason be?)people think it is the first time.

          • libertytrain

Again Eyes, you didn’t read my post, you created a new one based on what you thought you read. Read it again.

          • BillyJ

libertytrain, I was watching Fox, while Brian Kilmeade was interviewing Dana Perino, when she stated that ” towards the end, the Bush administration largely froze out MSNBC. So, like it or not, it has been done before. Also, Clinton, Bush Sr., Regan, and Nixon all had journalists and news stations that they refused to be interviewed by and didn’t grant entry in the immediate proxcimity of the main body of journalists. Seems as though all Presidents have the right and use that right to avoid those journalists and networks they don’t like. Nothing new here.

          • libertytrain

eyeswideopen – I think you already mentioned that, oh, I’m sorry – BillyJ – you write just like eyes? How funny.

        • JeffH

My good friend and step-father came here from Warsaw after being removed from his family by the Nazi’s and sent to a work camp in Norway in 1943. He has said this seems all to familiar to what transpired in the 30′s and 40′s Germany. He won’t say Obama is moving in Hitler’s footsteps, but he does say Americans need to realize how much freedom we can lose if Obama is successful.

          • ccg

JeffH I believe you and I believe your friend. Our country is in trouble and we must be letting our Reps. know and understand that we are not going to sit by and lose our freedoms silently.
Write and call your Reps, and the newspaper editorials too. Anything to get your point across.

        • DaveH

Obama and crew are launching an all out effort to take over our economy. From the Washington Post:
“U.S. pay czar Kenneth Feinberg emphasized his ability to claw back pay at any company receiving a taxpayer bailout, but said such an extreme action ‘will be rare and far between.’ Feinberg said he has not really explored how he would use the claw-back power and would only exercise it when he finds “an egregious fact pattern.”

No doubt that ‘egregious fact pattern’ will be – do they or do they not support Obama’s policies.

I sent this message to my Reps:
“I will be actively campaigning against any Congressman who does not use his Constitutional Congressional powers to stop Obama from usurping his presidential powers, as he is currently doing in his attempt to control the banking industry by setting their salaries. Please help.”

          • ccg

            Dave
Good for you. Sounds like a great idea, and hopefully all of us will take your lead and do the same.

          • eyeswideopen

Oh, hell yah, I want all those companies that we gave the tarp monies too, to give out million dollar bonus’s. They can reward themselves after they have paid back the loans and not before. Oh, that’s right I forgot, you are pro corporate America, you want them to get as much as they can from us poor tax payers. So you believe that if you borrow money from someone, you should lavish yourself with gifts and rewards prior to meeting your obligations? How nice. Glad I never loaned you money. How can you have it both ways Dave? First you were complaining about giving them the tarp funds and now you want them to give themselves bonus’? You are talking out of both sides of your mouth. Oops, I keep forgetting that you believe in Corporate Subsidies, and letting the Corporate Companies run free with no regulations don’t you??

      • ccg

Obama recently approved a 2% salary increase for all federal employees effective January 1, 2010. Members of the executive, legislative and judicial branch are due for an automatic pay increase in January as well. All this on the backs of seniors who will not incur any COLA increases for several years.
For the first time in history, the Congress will not allow an increase in the social security COLA (cost of living adjustment).
Not only is this wrong, but how much are those non vetted Czars getting? These men and probably some women have the power to tax without us having any representation from these taxes, and make laws to suit themselves. this is wrong.

    • April

I hear you and I agree. Also, I keep hearing that the key is to vote out a lot of these congressional cronies in the 2010 election. That may be what it comes down to, but I feel a desparation to do more that that now. I am looking for the oportunity to create that temporary 4th branch of government (ie. Grand Jury) and get O and his administion out of there. That evil Soros guy and czars and the like are setting things up to where We the People will never be heard. It will be easier to stop them at this jesture than waiting until more of their agendas have been established

      • JeffH

I think you are correct. We need to keep screaming like a “scalded banshee” and deliver the message loud and clear. We wanted change in America and now we are getting it and it ain’t pretty. Is this the kind of change Americans asked for? NO!

    • JeffH

      Quotable Quotes!
“The Obamans insist that mentioning any of the man’s disreputable friends and religious mentors is a no-no that smacks of McCarthyism. This is an odd complaint because, one, McCarthy was right when he pointed out that the folks who associated with other people at Communist cell meetings were in fact Communists, and, two, every child is told that he’s going to be judged by the company he keeps. So, let’s face facts—John Dillinger ran with a nicer crowd than this guy.” — Burt Prelutsky

“Are we going to leave our children hostages to hate-filled sadists with nuclear weapons? Are we to rely on Barack Obama’s rhetoric to protect them? Senator Obama’s foreign policy seems to be somewhere between Rodney King’s ‘Can’t we just get along?’ and Alfred E. Neuman’s ‘What, me worry?’” — Thomas Sowell

“Apologists say that [Barack Obama’s] three years in the U.S. Senate say far more about him than his twenty years with Pastor Wright, but he’s actually done nothing as a Senator from Illinois other than launch and conduct a hugely successful presidential campaign.” — Michael Medved

      • JeffH

The German kids didn’t know any better than the Obama kids what their “leader” is all about. That’s the point, kids blindly being used by their parents and leftist teachers for propaganda purposes. That’s the messed up part. Combine this with that “Civilian National Defense Force” Obama wants, and who knows where it’ll lead….

        http://www.salemthesoldier.us/jonsson_obama_2008_series_01.html

Disturbing to hear our youth is being used.

        • steffan61784

I will keep this short and sweet: the German children had the “benefit” of a stimulus plan, as well. However, at least the stimulus plan of the Third Reich was intended for the leadership PRIOR to Hitler. A number of inter-connecting “stimulations” came into effect in the early 1930′s (most notably the Reinhard plan), yet the common misconception is that the stimululations of those bills actually were the determining factor in Germany’s recovery from the Depression. Current studies indicate that Germany, more than likely, would have benefitted from a natural economic progression from PRIVATE industry rather than a state-oriented “guidance.” In other words, domestic, average-citizen spending suffered in the mid-1930′s because, like Obama’s plan, NO private entrepreneurship was encouraged. Large govt. and large corporations filled the vacuum of democracy. In other words, the United States should avoid placing its hands into the tax dollars (and private lives, furthermore) of Americans in the name of a manufactured “recovery.” Capitalism is far from infallible, yet it is superior to the prying of govt. Yet, at least the Third Reich spent much of its own “stimulus” funds on national defense (or offense, depending on the way one looks upon it)- where is this govt’s stimulus money being allocated? Rearmaments is one thing, corrupt social programs and the shipping of jobs across seas is a whole disparate problem…

          • steffan61784

By the way, I am 25 and I do not need a handout. I grew up in a tough household, and I place my faith in my own actions to determine where I end up. Life is not fair, only work and discipline is: some win, some lose. Either way, I pride myself in being a penultimate American- unlike Obama, I will earn my path. Even if I am to fail, I can pride myself that I am still stronger than him. I do not speak through my nose like Barney Frank- I am strong…I admire older generations than me… will an older individual (preferably from the early Cold War years) please stand up and reinforce my belief in this American system? When your generation moves on, I need encouragement to inherit and carry the torch…

          • libertytrain

steffan61784- good for you – Your own actions do determine where you end up – Be true to what you believe to be right and true for you – and you will do just fine.

  • http://www.vitallywell.com Tony S.

Elementary school children do not need homosexual education! Especially from a friend of NAMBLA. This is exactly why I pulled my children from public school to avoid this indoctrination and allow us as parents to teach OUR morals upon OUR children.

How about public schools try teaching children (isn’t that their job?) and leave the parenting to us parents. I know you think you can do it better but you are wrong. Focus on the task at hand, teaching, not brainwashing our children with your values (or lack there of).

    • JeffH

Apparently Obama, Pelosi, Biden and all of their supporters believe that Jennings is the man for the job!
Jennings, an admirer of the North American Man Boy Love Association (NAMBLA)that promotes the statuatory raping of boys is one sick, twisted individual and anyone who supports this man in his czar capacity is just as sick and twisted.
Obama, the president, is sick and twisted. There was no mistake about this appointment, as it is just another part of the “GRAND SCHEME” to dismantle the moral values of America. How else can it be?

      • JeffH

NAMBLA’s goal is to end the extreme oppression of men and boys in mutually consensual relationships…

    • ccg

Good for you Tony. I applaud you and your parenting. Homeschooling is a lot of hard work.
A school teacher is not vested in your child. You the parent are. A school teacher has these children for about 7 hours a day, along with 29 to 35 other children in the class. This does not include loving (as in the nurturing type of love) your child, nor does it include knowing your child’s habits, likes and dislikes, and fears.
We are supposed to turn over our child to a stranger that we know nothing about, to teach our child without any say so from us.
We do have some really good teachers, but all of these teachers the good and the bad, are stressed and overworked by Gov’t. bureaucracy. They don’t have time to truly get to know each child, and by the time they do, its time for the child change teachers.
We as parents need to take an active part in all aspects of our children.
Kevin Jennings for Safe School Czar is a sick joke, and needs to go.

      • JeffH

ccg, Kevin Jennings for Safe School Czar is a sick joke
This is not a joke, this is real, and this is who our president has appointed as the “school czar”. Need I say anymore!

        • ccg

          JefH.
You are right. He is no joke. Neither is Obama. They both need to go.

    • s c

You did the right thing, Tony. Most public schools are an unmitigated failures. They are breeding grounds for what amounts to moral and mental STDs. HOMESCHOOL your kids! Get them AWAY from uncle shamscam.
No self-respecting parent would think twice about dumping someone like jennings OR doing whatever it takes to make comrde obama regret the day he thought about getting into politics.
Now, let the ultralibs and all of the self-made kooks try and defend jennings – or comrade obama. Take a long swig of pepto, Tony, and try not to puke when this web site produces ‘citizens’ who dare to claim that comrade obama or jennings have a place in American society or government. Did comrade obama or jennings EVER have any common sense or a sense of morality? How can they stand themselves?

    • April

If the schools won’t teach ‘reading”writing’and ‘arithmatic”, and leave the parenting to the parents, then we need to fire those schools and get back to the basics of teaching them at home like we did when we first came to this country. Even if it means tightening our belts by going back to one income families for a while, or living off the land and growing our own food. Those lessons are so much more valuable than what the schools are providing today. It is not worth the while to hand our kids over to a evil and immoral society.

      • JeffH

April, that is basically how I was raised and how I was educated(50′s and 60′s). I may not have liked some of the way things were, but I did have respect for my teachers and my parents and others. I learned that I had to work in order to meet my needs, not to rely on anyone else for anything. If I got out of line, I got a few licks from the leather belt or wooden paddle, which I probably deserved. I never considered calling the cops and crying abuse. I am thankful for that experiance as I feel it made me a better person. I expect nothing from no one. When I was down and out, my friends stood up and helped me get through it, moraly and financialy. That was because of a trust and real freindships that have been nurtured for many years. I paid back every cent, without so much as a “when will you pay me back” whisper, before I ever spent a dime for myself.
It was a much simplar time.

        • Robert

I survived 12 years of Catholic school. Then I made the mistake of going to a Public College. The economics book I was told to get for 101 was the same exact book I used in my Junior year of High School. What struck me the most when going to Public College was the extreme liberalism of the college professors. I found out very quickly that if you disagreed with their principals or ideals, you paid a price. Their retribution could lead to a lower grade on one of your papers and the worst being singled out amount all the student’s in the classroom in a derogatory manner. Complaining to the school dean just made matters worse. Two years after graduating, the college lost their accreditation. Seems the professors teaching all the courses didn’t measure up to the minimum standards of the College board. It took several years before that college gained backed their accreditation. Today, unless your a political science major, all other courses taught concentrate on the course’s subject matter and only the subject matter is discussed in class and free of subjected opinions by the professor. So maybe the lesson learned here that Obama might want to contemplate is: “If I continue going down this policy path, will my accreditation be taken away in 2012.” As far as this czar is concerned, he needs to go. I’m sure he would find work in San Franscisco. Nancy will hire him.

          • DaveH

Nice Story Robert. I spent 9 years in Catholic school and had similar experiences in College.

        • eyeswideopen

So, you paid your loans back and didn’t give yourself a bonus? Kinda like what the companies who took the tarp monies should do, don’t you think?

      • eyeswideopen

April, here in Fl. we have a 40% non graduation rate from our schools. Obviously the parents are not involved the way they were during a different time in history. If I would have been failing at school, I would not have seen the lite of day. I was a military brat, and used to get grounded to bedroom, one month for every minute I was past curfew. Grounded to bedroom for entire semester, until I pulled grades up. Spent total of 1 year 3 days grounded during high school. I do respect peoples time and am never late for anything. Parents of today, want to be friends with their children, and they don’t spend any time with them. When children fail, it is the parents fault. Very few times can the parent be excluded from being responsible. My father still checked to see what I was learning during senior yr. He felt that exposure to various points of view would not harm me as by the time you get to high school, you have your morals and behavior preety well set, and he would be there for me during the times, I would make the wrong decisions. I believe most parents, really don’t have parenting skills, and are too concerned that their children like them.

        • ccg

          eyes, you said it.
Parents seem to be afraid of their children these days. How sad. Sounds like you had a good father.
So many times people use the “Its the quality time spent with my child” thing and in reality your quality time and the child’s quality time may not be the same, so it really takes quantity time to click with your child.

        • cr747

Eyes, you must have dropped out in the 1st grade, because you sure don’t no anything about government. You must be blind and also hard of HEARING. This president is taking us all for the ride of a lifetime, and you are not smart enough to see or hear of it. LOL I was a fighter pilot in Vietnam, spent 22 years serving our country, and this is the most ridiculous president I have ever had to serve under!!! By the way I’m still flying, but thank GOD I don’t have to take orders from these idiots we have got running our country now. After the 2010 election we won’t have to put up with them any more. By the way my, Commander And Chief is GOD.

          • BillyJ

Cr747, well, while you are in the active military, your Commander in Chief, is the President. It doesn’t matter if you like him or not. The position dictates respect and any active duty military personel who doesn’t give that respect is not a patriot. I hope you are not a commercial pilot who has others lives in his hands.

          • cr747

Sorry to disappoint you there private BillyJ, God has always been my Commander And Chief, and will always be. I do fly a 747 with citizens on board, but it is a private flight all over the world. I’ve flown many top brass citizens, actors, families, and some won’t take another flight out unless it is me. You see you can’t judge a person until you have met them. So I doubt you have ever been fortunate enough to fly on one of my 747′s, so until you do, stay with what you know. By the way if the prez is commander and chief, he’s sure doing a lousy job. I still don’t claim him as my commander and chief, never have, and never will. 22 years and counting!!!!! GOD BLESS AMERICA.

kids in elementry school barely even know about their own sexuality, and he wants to teach about gays? this guy is an idiot and needs to be thrown out, we need to really get up congresses butt and demand all of these socalled czars be checked out.you can google them and see and hear them putting down america, whites, democracy and some are confirmed already, confirmed communist and radicles. obama is still a muslim and i would like anyone to try and prove me wrong. show me evidence that he and his family changed religions. its the reason he has not picked a church yet, he cant be seen going to a masque with his family, he is a muslim, communist, racist and wants the country to be run into the ground. i know a lot of people dont like beck, but he was right about acorn, van jones, jennings, and has the video and recordings to back it up, the mainstream media is in obamas pocket and obama is throwing everyone who opposes him under the bus. he needs to be impeached as soon as possible, if there is a lawyer out there who knows how to impeach, please tell us, we will do it.

    • April

One lady called the FBI to find out what in the world can she do to make a difference with all this scary agendas being pushed by O and his administration and they told her to watch Beck and listen to conservative talk radio for the best info.

      • JeffH

WOW! You can bet someone will come back and call you a liar on that one. Not me though, because I watch them all. Otherwise, I would think everything in America is rosey!

  • cr747

Vote the idiot’s out of congress in 2010, and put our people in, and we can get him impeached. He sure needs to be out of office, and the sooner the better.

    • Chris

The vote is essential. The biggest problem is that both Democrat and Republicans keep leading us down the same hole, only at different rates. We need a third party with values to get behind to get our country back on course.

      • April

Well, in order to vote wisely we need to remember the original purpose and intent of the two parties. The right wing is originally set up to reserve funds and resourses for our military so that our country stays safe. And anything left over will help those in need that really cannot go to work and provide for themselves. The left wing is originally set up to come up with ways to help the needy but must stay in the bounds of available resources and not strip folks of thier diginity. It has come to the place to where both the right wing and the left wing care more about agendas , which as a result raise taxes, than keeping our country safe and helping those who are truly in need. Now we have a society that is causing our children to accept hand outs instead of self-dignity and worth, and noticing a neighbor that could use a helping hand or an act of kindness, or just a smile, school shooting due to lack of respect for life, and the list can go on forever it seems.

        • April

          correction:
smile. And as a result we see events such as shcool shootings…

  • tim

The best way to fight against this extreme liberal govt. is next year in the midterm elections so we need heavy voter turnout and that will give the President and Congress a very big wakeup call

  • Del form Texas

Children are the product of heterosexual relationships. Homosexuality is counter productive to procreation. Supporting homosexuality goes against the institution of marriage, family and children. As parents, it is OUR right to instill OUR children with OUR moral values. Jennings and other like him have no place in the education of children. It’s obvious what the “Obamanation” is out to destroy. All one has to do, is look at the people Obama supports and sassociates with.

    • Robert

I couldn’t agree with you more. I find that the great people of Texas don’t mince words. The politicians in Washington would do well if they would listen to the average person in Texas. Maybe they would learn something.

  • marion

ARE ALL DEMORATS TURN INTO SCUMBAG?

    • April

Marion, I have seen scumbags on both sides of the isle. I have also seen high moral upstanding individuals on both sides. This has become a serious war between good and evil. And the only way for good to win is for good to confront evil for what it is and annihilate it.

Are all politicians scumbags? A better and more accurate question.

      • Robert

I’d say at least 85% are. Jurys out on the newcommers. I’ll give them a full year before bestowing that distinguished title upon them. My gut feeling is that 90% of them will fit the bill and join the other 85%.

        • ccg

That’s why we need term limits. Give them only a short time to serve their country and then OUT, before they have time to figure out how to take advantage of the system and make a fortune.

  • FOREST EVERITT

Every parent shuold be outraged, removing Jennings is not enough Obama himself needs to be removed as he is the leader of all of these czars as well as his corrupt cabinet. Obama himself according to the constitution is not legally eligeable to be in the whitehouse as president everyone in congress new this before they illegally gave him the electoral votes. The FCC has threatened all media outlets to not discuss his place of birth. Obama, Pelosi, Reid all use rule of thug instead of rule of law, which has been the downfall of Obama’s native land Africa for the last four thousand years. All americans have fallen under the pretense that if you diagree with annointed one you are a racist. Obama is the racist but no one will call him out or the rest of the racists in this country becuase their skin color is black. He was elected because of this reason and now not only are we paying the ultimate price which is not our freedom but our ability to teach our children the morals we were taught by our parents. If we do not remove this congress and this usurper by the laws which govern us the costitution then there will not be anything left of our constitution to reconize, his appointment to the supreme court of a racist, anti-constitutional person who has blatenly and openly denied our second amendment rights along with his appointment of The proclaimed communist Van Jones, tyhe tax cheat he put in charge of the IRS and his numerous questionable alliances with people such as Bill Ayres and his fondness for dictators such as Hugo Chavez shows his utter lack of judgement to be the commander in chief. Now is the time for all christians and Americans of all ethnicity to come together as one nation under God and stand up for rulr of law for if we do not then we will be under rule of thug and this nation will not be the land of the free for us or our generations to come. I forefathers faught and died so we could have freedom, which is not free. Our forefathers came from many different lands and ethnic backgrounds but were united as Americans to defeat tyrenny here and on foriegn soil to keep our children safe. We must stop this lunacy and evil corruption before this country is transformed into a land of thugs.

  • Marsha Kinzer

I can’t believe the man if that’s what you want to call him is a man who we call our President is putting our children, our families, our economy, and our safety in jeopardy. He has two beautiful children growing up in what he is trying to turn this country into. A socialist country. He won’t be in office when his children have grown and have children but he is willing to let them grow up in a country like that. We have lost our pride for our country. We need to stand up and take it back before God Almighty takes it back. Children killing children, pedifiles (one employed by the white house), terrorists he seems to condone and everything else he is letting this country develop into. Please people stand up and take our country back from this egotistical President who thinks he is a rock star instead of the President who took a vow to keep our country safe.

    • eyeswideopen

Marsha, you inadvertately made a valid point. Why would you think that the President, would intentionally destory this country, when he has children who live here and are old enough to remember and learn about this country. You really think, he wants to make decisions to hurt Americans? I ask you this, why do you think that Pres. Bush, put all those who have been convicted of crimes and done jail time, into those positions that he did? Do you think Ensign intentionally had an affair to hurt the American public? Why are you not screaming for him to leave office? How about Viter, not just one prostitute, but three? Where is the alarm and the outrage? He is in our Congress deciding our futures and it’s ok that he frequents prostitutes? I’m not really happy with those morals and ethics guiding America’s future, where is your outrage? Does your outrage only apply to anyone other than the Republicans? I signed a petition to try and remove him from office, have you?

      • JeffH

What give you the latitude to say that. She, as many of us have said repeatedly, can’t and don’t trust Obama. We don’t like him, not because he is a Democrat, but because of his ideaologies and his intent to destroy a free America. She didn’t mention the word Democrat one time, yet you have assumed she only means Democrats.
From this point forward, I refuse to interact with your comments any further. You could care less about America and more about hating Republicans. You just keep waving your white flag of truce and follow Obama down his trail of anti-America deceipt. You are a despicably blind individual!

        • eyeswideopen

Jeff, I, repeatedly ask you what has he passed that is going to destroy America, and not one of you can come up with anything, other than the stimilus, which since none of you are economic majors and we do have history telling us what not to do, you must want this country to go into a depression. I can’t fathom what ideologies you are speaking of. You don’t like some of the people he put in office? Oh, hell, like Bush made wise decisions on that front. Even Regan had 14 of his staff indicted with 11 convicted, for the Iran-Contra affair. Do you slander him? He is trying to save your, repeat your Medicare and you slam him. Do you want it to be bankrupt? How did you expect an unfunded bill to stay viable? Magic money? You and your cohorts cannot find one impeachable offense, or new program that he has passed that is socialist and therefore you have no substance to your whinning. Why aren’t you complaining about the banking bailout that Bush got passed? Main street got none of those funds. You and the other Dem haters, can’t even admit that Sheldon Adelson has more influence than Soros. I know it is ok, to hammer someone on spending, while the previous group who spent like drunken sailors are still taking record breaking earmarks. If the Dem’s do the exact same thing that the Republicans just did, they are branded as spending too much. What did you think it should be called when the Republicans increased the government run socialist Medicare program by 1.1 trillion dollars? You want socialism when it is advantageous for you, but when others are going to get help, then it is not right….selfish and hypocritical thinking. I would love to hear your answer to your grandkids when they ask, why is it ok for you to have a socialist program and not my daddy or my friends daddy? Zzzzzzz. You are holding this man to a higher standard than any other previous Presidents, and you are holding him responsible for all the bad decisions made by a previous administration. While not holding yourself responsible for any of your own bad voting.

          • DaveH

The Queen of Double-Speak. Or is it King?

          • DaveH

Since Obama has taken office the National Debt has increased by $2 Trillion dollars. That’s $6000.00 additional debt for every man, woman, and child in this country. Then add on his $1 Trillion Health Care takeover and the Cap and Trade Bill. And that is just the beginning. Initial costs of programs are almost always exceeded by many times when they have actually been implemented.
            National Debt Clock:
            http://usdebtclock.org/
Obama and his cronies are trying hard to censor any media opposition. They even went so far yesterday as to exclude the Foxnews reporter from a white house press conference. This is the “Transparent” administration?
And the Great Depression you mentioned was caused by the government protectionism bestowed upon favored businesses. The resultant tariffs caused a backlash from our trading partners (Balkanization). World trade slowed dramatically.
In the more recent past, ACORN and other Liberal groups strong-armed the Banking industry (through the courts and other thug-like actions) into making loans to subprime borrowers who as history shows defaulted on their loans and caused the unraveling of our economy. Obama has been intimately tied to ACORN. Of course, you and other Liberals will deny that, just as you all deny his Socialist leanings even though he has appointed many Socialist people to positions of great power. You can and should judge Obama by those he associates with; you sure can’t judge Obama by the words that come from his mouth.
So now you want more Government involvement to save us from the current bad economy that was created by Big Government meddling?
Nobody here has said anything about the Bush policies. Only you in your attempts to distract readers from the Obama disaster that is ongoing.
And you accuse Jeff of whining? You have been whining about Bush for as long as I’ve been on this board. And those Liberals you stick up for whine constantly about their rights to ride on the shoulders of others (through government run healthcare, etc.).

I can tell you what his problem is, He’s a racist, a crook, only looking out for himself. Why don’t the Washington idiot’s give us the same type insurance that we are paying for them. I’ll tell you why, they are all crooks and they know their time is limited to 2010 and they don’t give a damn about us!!! Look at all his cabinet members, they have all got felonies on them(or worse) One for not paying his taxes. One a murderer, and the Clintons don’t have a very clean record. Both of them should have went to prison. They are bleeding us for every penny they can get. And I could go on!!!!!!!!!!!!!

          • steffan61784

The reason people are attacking you is because you fall along party lines with your rhetoric. Bush-this, Bush-that… I did not appreciate Bush probably as much as you (maybe more). However, all of the offences of the previous administration that I found eggregious (including the mounting debt and the decapitation of he dollar)have been accelerated by your mascot, the bumbler-in-Chief. Let’s face facts: the REAL world is not a matter of “one or the other.” Reality exists in shades of grey. Therefore, most of the individuals which frequent this site are, in turn, political shades of grey. You, however, sound as if you are Obama’s spokesman. As if Axelrod, the cilentrate that he is, was not enough! You want a list of Obama’s grievances? How about his doddling on Afghanistan (surge or pull out, for Christ’s sake! NO in-between!). Cap-and-trade (man-made global warming both does not exist and is an excuse for the govt. to increase its intrusion into both one’s private life and wallet). The stimulus (which had no provision for small, private business and instead encouraged even more expansion of large corporate domination from companies such as Wal-Mart- companies that Obamaites as yourself profess to detest). Weak foreign policy (withdrawal of a missile defense system from eastern Europe and the prostituting of Poland and the like for Russian appeasement- the ex-Soviets only respond to strength- where was our tactical gain?). Oh, and by the way, our Neo-Marxist boob of a leader still has not gotten around to the subject illegal immigration. Amnesty looms ominously over the horizon….

          • steffan61784

By the way, your screen name is an oxymoron (read into that last word). Not only are your eyes closed, they are SEWN completely shut! I think you probably look like something out of the Alice in Chains video for “Man in the Box.”

          • eyeswideopen

Dave, you just can’t admit that the Medicare Advantage bill cost 1.1 trillion unfunded dollars can you? Glen as usual doesn’t understand how this crisis started or even when it started. He doesn’t care, his main goal is to degrade the President. Which he does a fine job of doing. The basic concept that you people are missing is that if you don’t reform it now, there won’t be any Medicare left to reform as it was never funded in the first place. Fine, don’t do anything, but let the rest of us stop paying into the fund. That seems only fair. Government is force, why should I have to pay into something that won’t be there for me to use? Get your hand out of my pocket!!! I think we all should be able to stop paying into SS and Medicare. I no longer want to fund those people who have used all of their benefits or have paid very little into it. Fair is Fair. Let’s just kill the whole program, then we won’t have any problems funding it.

          • BillyJ

Stephann, you are obviously in need of some education on our recent history. Your name calling and trying to jump on board with the Dave and Jeff show, is a little like the bully down the street, who needs his buddies to be able to strut his stuff.

    • JeffH

Obama Endorses Soros Plan to Loot America. Dubbed the “Lenin of the 21st Century” by the Ripon Forum magazine, because of his apparent transformation from super-capitalist into “neo-Marxist,” Soros waged an expensive but unsuccessful campaign to defeat President George W. Bush for re-election in 2004. He has been determined to install a puppet in the White House. Soros had backed Obama for president in 2008, saying that he had “the charisma and the vision to radically reorient America in the world.” His prediction seems to be eerily coming true. The Special Drawing Rights proposal, which is a vehicle for further U.S. foreign aid to the rest of the world, was the brainchild of billionaire George Soros, who told CNBC’s Maria Bartiromo that the G 20 conference was a “success.”

      • BillyJ

If Soros wasn’t able to defeat Bush, why are you so paranoid? He couldn’t have put Obama in White House by himself, so what are you trying to accomplish by regaling about Soros? I did some research after reading one of your other posts and found out that us Republicans also have a wealthy benefactor. I am not too crazy about his history or his politics which I will not go into now. However I thought you might be interested in this person as you seem to want to go after those wealthy persons who use their money and power to influence politics. If I missed your intent and you are only disparaging the Democrats then disregard this info. Sheldon Adelson is his name.

  • Jack Kinch(1uncle)

Common sense. This freak should never have been appointed to a school job. It is inexcusable.
Nobama, The Kenyan, the as transparent as asphalt president must go. Electing him with what we already knew about him was beyond stupid. It was insane. Only a tax user should have voted for him. Should people receiving welfare checks be allowed to vote?

    • steffan61784

Ha, ha… we have a welfare president! I feel that all people should have the right to vote, but wouldn’t it be interesting to administer a “civic intelligence test” to gauge the mental capacity of some of the clowns who cast a ballot for Polpot, er, Obama. I find it funny when I hear people describe Obama’s political ascendency as a “great American story.” A good story would be an individual who starts from humble beginnings and, through hard work and determination, EARNS an elevated position in society. Obama has never even been a bag-boy in a grocery store! He would screw up getting a cup of coffee for you! Plain and simple: Obama’s whole life is a sick narrative of free-passes and affirmative action. It is disgusting to comprehend and he should be ashamed of himself. However, he would rather pat himself on his made-for-T.V. back…

      • eyeswideopen

If you use your idea, some people on this site, would not be able to vote. But you should be able to get most of the ousted Republicans back in to complete their plan of destroying America, they did get really close to accomplishing exactly that. Bring em back, and let’s have a party till the end.

        • steffan61784

Yet did I not just condemn certain elements of the two-party system? In any event, your responses are amusing, yet empty. Of course Republicans favor the destruction of democracy- again, “eyeswideopen” continues to live with its conscience shut. Puns and figures of speech are too easy- the reality is is that govt. laughs as it hides behind political labels to shield its own ideals. In any event, the pacifier of govt. is hilariously heavy. We have a model of over-spending, and, remarkably, large govt. has been reincarnated: Obama is afraid of his own shadow yet he approves rape of the general citizen!

        • cr747

EYES, the party started when O-BAM-BAM took office and the party is costing the United States it’s dignity. We will be indebted to China forever and probably our kids and grand kids will be ruled by them. What a shame to let some nit-wit try to run the country like the one’s we got in Washington now. You are out in left field turned towards the crowd, and every thing is going over your empty head.

      • BillyJ

You will only give someone credit for hard work if they worked as a bag boy? You must be a right winger. I must say you are narrow minded and even though I don’t particularly like President Obama, I can concede that he has beat the odds that a bi-racial child whithout a father, has to overcome. I don’t believe that one of our most honored colleges would have cheated and given him his degree and the law review is voted by the participants not the at large mass of students. You seem to want to blame him for all our ills, not very logical, if you are a rationale, educated, and accountable adult. My party made decisions that in hindsight were not only horrible, but fall into the catagory of illogical. I will stand by my party, but I am not blind and will not try to lie nor hide the fact that we pretty much failed at governing this country well.

  • s c

I’ve been wondering when comrade obama would have the plastic guts to stick America with a czar who has a use for NAMBLA. Here he is, America. For those of you who have been blissfully ignorant of what is going on, NAMBLA is perhaps the sickest group ever thought up in the history of the planet.
Ultralibs, here’s your chance to stand up, grow a spine and see comrade obama for the willing LOSER that he is. When a politician willingly endorses ‘people’ like Jennings, it’s time to wake up, do the right thing and put such people in their place [out of government, out of the US, and better yet on a different planet].
WAKE UP, America! The barbarians are at the gate, and that gate is WASHINGTON and comrade obama! This isn’t just politics. THIS IS INSANITY!

  • MW

Please keep in mind that the President has both of his children in D.C. area private schools where the tuition exceeds $10,000 per year!
Also, he himself was educated in a Catholic school & an Islamic massadra. However, if you really want to know how bad public education is get a load of this statistic. Here in Cincinnati 45% of the teachers in the pathetic Cincinnati Public School System(one of the worst in the U.S.) have their own children in private or parochial schools! That’s analogous to someone who works for Ford driving a Honda. This system has a dropout rate approaching 50%+ & has a substantial amount of its annual budget appropriated for security, theft & vandalism.

    • JeffH

I believe Obama’s kids should be privately schooled by Jennings as should the children of all that support Jenning’s czar appointment.

    • eyeswideopen

Florida only has a 60% graduation rate and we are a Republican run state. What do you think is wrong? Majority here are Republicans so who is screwing us up?

I am a Christian, I can’t judge Obama only God knows the heart. I have to draw my conclusions from the people he associates with, He appoints Van Jones, Geithner and Jennings as his Czars, Communist, income tax dodgers and homosexuals he puts them in key positions, they don’t require a background check, they don’t answer to congress, they only answer to the President. I personally feel Obama should be impeached before he completely destroys America. Obama is a socialist, he and his Czars and cronies Pelosi, Reid, Schumer Gene Green and others don’t care about the Constitution or the will of the people they do what they want to do. I only pray we have enough consertative Democrats, Republicans and Independents in congress to save our country from socialism. Wake up America make your voice heard in 2010 and 2012.

    • ccg

Sonny, I am a Christian too, but God gives us a set of rules by which we must use to discern when something is either right or wrong. We do not judge Obama, which means we are not condemning him to keep him from going to heaven. We are judging his actions that they are wrong. Obama is all for the Muslims, he stated in his book that if it comes between the Christians and the Muslims, “I will stand for the Muslims.” He did not honor our National Day of Prayer, he does everything he can to show his disdain for the American Standards that we have always held so dear. This man is a divider, not a unifier.
He puts in an avowed Communist named Van Jones as one of his Czar’s, he puts in a highly questionable character for the Safe School Czar.
He hangs with people like Ayers who is an avowed terrorist and has never apologized for it, instead has stated that “I didn’t do enough”.
It doesn’t take a very bright person to see the dangerously bad character of the man we have in the White House trying in vain to fill the office of the President.
He also has been trying to stifle the freedom of the press. This man is scary!

  • warrior

What needs to be done is the House of Reps needs to stand up, proceed to impeach the prez(if he really is the prez) and throw out all those associated with him and his cause that are trying to bring down this country. He creates the problems we have and then tries to fix them to make himself and others look good. Look at the problems I have fixed since I have been in the White House. Yes total ………. BS

For those of you who do not agree with alot of what is being said here about the Prez…well Sorry but this is how true Americans feel. We want no part of socialism or anyother ism’s. This is a Free country and it will remain that way. For those of you who are Socialist go somewhere else and tout your beliefs. But first go to a Socialist country and see how it really is…You can also study your HISTORY books to find out also..

  • Buckeye

While it is true that things are very bad just everyone remember we have this administration in power because of “POLICIES AND CORRUPTION OF THE BUSH ADM.” While many of you had your heads in the sand Faux news, Hannity, O’Reilly, Drugball, Beck, Silly Ann was feeding you full of lies while our country was crumbling. Even the blind can see where 8 years of corruption and give it all to the rich got us and now we the people are going to have our hands full weeding out the democrats and republicans who want it all for themselves and could care less about the general public. Forget party and weed out everyone who is playing the party game and not doing what we elected them to do.

    • ccg

Buck- we have to stop the evil that is in the White House now. Bush is gone. If you can’t see that Obama is and has been doing worse than any other President we have ever had, then there is no hope for you.
Forget your hatred of Bush, in fact forget hatred. Lets do what is best for our country and as you said, weed out everyone who is playing the party game (and not doing what is best for our country) and not doing what we elected them to do.

      • s c

CCG, it’s not easy dealing with ultralibs, is it? Some of them have brainwashed themselves into thinking that GB is still in the white house. As I recall, a new prez is there. The new prez has a terrible time remembering that GB is gone. Many of his followers suffer from the same mind-numbing delusion.
I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that some ultralibs think GB’s father is still in the white house. And these people have the gall to whiz and moan about OUR info sources. I have to conclude that some of the main requirments for becoming an ultralib include 1) surrender your mind, 2) take potent drugs, and 3) never give reality a chance. Fantasy is so ‘comfortable.’ That way, ultralibs are always ‘right’ – so to speak.

        • DaveH

The Liberals are just seeking the lowest common denominator. They don’t look at Steve who works his butt off and say “Wow, I want to be just like him!”. Instead they look at Herman who doesn’t do much of anything and say “Crap, he gets away with doing nothing all day, why should I work hard?”. That’s why Socialism doesn’t work.

    • JeffH

They are all corrupt! Would you suggest that everyone censor Fox because they report and do commentary that exposes Obama’s lack of leadership and his associations with ACORN, SEIU, Code Pink, Tides, not to mention some of his wonderful czars? Or would you prefer we all watch MSNBC and enjoy all the love and support of the George Soros puppet, Obama. I think Fox is doing Americans a great service by continuing to expose this deceitful administration for what it is, a sham! Is Fox responsible for Obamas rapidly falling approval rating or is Obama responsible? Both you and I know that answer, and a hint…it ain’t Fox.

    • DaveH

Buck, if you ever really watched Glenn Beck, you would know that he is an equal-party basher.
I have told co-workers all my life “Don’t point fingers, just fix the problem”. The reason you Obama supporters live in the past is that you have no defense for the mismanagement that is currently going on.

  • Airdaleusn

Don’t vote for ANY Incumbent, They are all the same

  • Bones

Take the profit motive out of being a politician and we will see better government, simple as that. Serving should be a sacrafice not an enriching career venture setting one up for life.

It takes 20 years to get a military retirement serving your country. How long does it take as a a congressman, one term. Not to mention that great high paying lobbist job after being tossed out. This is not rocket science.

Our government was designed with the selfish nature of man in mind. Thats what checks and balances of power is all about. But the greedy nature of man is very creative, we have figured out how to end run the checks and balances with lobbists and special interest groups.

Until we can make serving a sacrifice for the good of your fellow citizen again and not a enriching career move, we are all screwed.

    • ccg

Bones, you said it. Plus all of the Czars who have NEVER been elected yet they have the power to raise taxes and basically make our lives miserable. This is WRONG WRONG WRONG.
If they need the Czars, then each Prez needs it to be limited to 3 or 4 and they have a 6 month life expectancy and that is it. This Prez has gone so overboard on his Czars it is unreal.

  • Rod

The prez, as you call him, has broken just about every Fed. and Constitutional law there is. Not only has Obama appointed these
creeps, they were not even venerated. They are ALL Criminals and
need to be treated as such, ie Vann Jones etc.

Kevin Jennings is exactly the opposite of the kind of person you

None of the afore posts are null and void, if Obama goes to the United Nations Climate Change meeting in Copenhagen in December 2009 we arn’t going to have a country any way. If he goes and signs the treaty on climate change, we are history! He needs to be impeached,NOW, because he knows he wasn’t born here in the USA. Every Attorney General from every state, should be contacted and told to have a hearing as to his legal status

    • DaveH

      Linda,
From Article II, Section 2 of the Constitution:
“He (president) shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur”.
I do think recently the Congress hasn’t gotten involved in ratifying some treaties, so we need to contact our Senators and let them know how we feel. I have and I included the following link:

This is really pretty funny if you think about it.
Obama says “Sometimes the Democrats can be their own worst enemies” and the crowd claps and chants.
And Obama says “Democrats y’all thinkin for yourselves”. Zombies that think for themselves but clap and chant at everything he says even if the statement is somewhat insulting.
It’s funny, but also kind of scary how many spoon-fed followers he has. I’m surprised they aren’t chanting “Heil Obama”.

obama and his crew is just as I have described in my other blogs. He is a socialist liberal who wants to force his agenda down everyones throat. I do not care for gays or gay rights and will fight to the death for what I believe in and it is not to have an openly gay individual over education pushing obama’s agenda. My Grandchildren will be pulled from school if this crap is allowed to continue in this country. obama and his gay rights, anti-gun, anti-american administration. It is time for the people of this country to fight back and get rid of these sicko’s. He is a disgrace to the United States and to the office of the presidency as is the rest of his socialist liberal counterparts.

Wow…I had never visited this website till today, and having read the comments with this “story” I have to wonder if we live in the same country?

First of all, few of the posts have anything to do with the story about Kevin Jennings, which is the point of my post. I actually know Kevin; he’s a North Carolina boy, and I’ve spent a lot of time with him over the years.

This is another case of people who know nothing about the actual person making giant leaps of (mis)understanding by drawing threads from disparate sources and trying to make cloth from them.

Kevin has advocated on behalf of all children in his work, though gay kids were the focus because they have been the ones being most damaged by anti-gay bullying from students, teachers and administrators. I know the extent of the problem because as a pastor I’ve heard the stories from kids, plus we actually did surveys in our local schools and the extent of bullying, both of gay kids and kids of different ethnic backgrounds, was appalling. The results were confirmed by teachers who have been trying to make things better.

Many of the so-called “problems” that Kevin has been linked to took place decades ago when anti-gay discrimination was even worse than now. If Kevin had told “Brewter’s” parents that he might be gay, this kid could have been one of the thousands thrown out of his home by parents who could not deal with a gay son, and yes, I’ve seen those situations, too.

ACT UP certainly did outrageous things, but at that time, our government health officials were doing nothing about AIDS because it was misunderstood to be a “gay” disease and if only gays were dying, who cared? They had to resort to unusual tactics in order to get people to pay attention, and they succeeded.

Please find something real to worry about; Kevin will do a great job. If you don’t like him because he’s gay, then just be honest enough to say that.

  • cr747

I don’t like him because he is GAY!!!!!!!!!! There I have said it. I sure as hell wouldn’t want any of my kids or grand kids to grow up thinking that this idiot has something to do with education.
I don’t know what kind of pastor you are, but according to your statement, I sure wouldn’t want my kids or grand kids to be around you either. Sounds like you may be in the same bed Jennings is in.
You need to study your Bible a little more before making a comment like this for million’s to see.
I am prayer coordinator for my church, and I know it’s WRONG!!!!!!!!

    • ccg

cr747 I agree with you wholeheartedly.
I don’t like him in the position he is in because he is GAY!!!! Just because he is not the Czar over Public School safety etc. does not mean he still can’t help gay kids. In fact, I think he should do whatever he wants, but he does not need my tax dollars funding his evil lifestyle.
I also agree that I would not want my kids or grandkids going to any church that ncrev pastors. He obviously does not know what the Bible has to say about these acts.
We don’t hate the person, but we hate his actions. He may well be the nicest guy, but his lifestyle CHOICES are definitely not.

      • cr747

ccg, I too do not have hate in my vocabulary. I just do not think this man should hold a position in the school system in no way, fashion or, form. I am totally against gay marriage, and gays period. The Bible plainly says one man and one woman. It was Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve. I personally know some gay people, and I try to show them where it is wrong in God’s eyes. I fill I have done my part with them, and if that is the life they choose, God bless their soul’s.

People keep saying, “Vote out the leftists in the 2010 election.” Well, my immediate fear is of the irreparable damage that may be caused by Chairman Obama and his shadow government in the interim. Can we, as Constitution-loving and abiding Americans honestly stand idly by as the parasite that is large govt. insidiously stretches its tentacles into every element of our private lives? Moreover, my greatest fear is that some enterprising citizen will finally say “enough is enough” and actually assassinate Obama- which would be a disaster because the media will proclaim the Chairman and his Leninist axioms as a martyr. Then again, people can only take so much…

  • steffan61784

One more thing- to the “pastor” who knows Keving Jennings- no one cares if he is a nice guy or not. I do not care if he is gay, I care more about my tremendous lack of faith that he will do a commendable job in a position that can exert tremendous influence. Personally, I feel that he is a lost soul, but that is personally. I am only 25, but I certainly would not feel comfortable subjecting a child of mine to the twisted ideologies of an individual who, whether he means well or not, undermines the basic foundations of the traditional American family. Whatever he wants to do in private, fine. In public, though, is a different story.

    • ccg

Steffan after reading all of your posts all I can say is you are wiser than your 25 years. I have run into many of our youth of today and found a lot that I worry about, then I run into young people like you Steffan and have great hope for our future.
Keep up the good fight for what is right. And hope to see you post more often.

I was going to sign off, but I first decided to skim some of the blogs on this site and I continue to encounter a recurring, unsettling theme. Many of the bloggers seem to be assuming and placing their faith in the average American voter being the solution to the “Obama problem.” Regular Americans are so preoccupied with their immediate situation, I do not believe that they are fully aware of the danger that this administration poses to their civil rights and private lives. They will not react until they allow the Chariman to reduce this country to a state of moral and structural decrepitude. By then, things will be too late. I believe in democracy- I wear that privelidge like a badge of honor. However, perhaps Alexander Hamilton had a point when he suspected that many Americans, distracted by the non-essentialities of life (in today’s terms, things like reality television), would turn into political ostriches, burying their heads in the sand to avoid acknowledging govt. despotism. In today’s America, Obama could serve a lifetime-term if many Americans had their choice… and if he had it his way he would (and still may try). Alexis de Tocqueville said that America, through ignorance, was destined to allow and endure a series of despotic rulers. It took a few centuries, but it seems his prediction has ominously proven true….

    • Robert

Well said. Sadly, what you’ve pointed out is all so true.

    • libertytrain

      steffan61784 – very interesting comment – thanks.

    • BillyJ

Apparently, Americans have been predisposed to do exactly what Hamilton stated.

Allow illegals to recieve amnesty and it will be checkmate for Obama and company. 20-30 million voters added to the voter rolls and presto instant one party government. 2/3 votes in the house and senate and you can ammend change or remove ANYTHING from our constitution. Settle for nothing less than deportation.

  • DaveH

You can see from this video what we are up against. Even the so-called ‘conservative’ politicians are willing to sell our gun rights down the river. Listen carefully to Christie’s statements on guns.
He says “We have an illegal gun problem in New Jersey”. Duh! And those “illegal” guns are going to become something else under gun control, maybe “more illegal”? This is why the Republicans can’t be trusted to get us back to our Constitutional freedoms. Quit voting for the lesser of two evils! It is still evil.

      Wow!

  • Brenda

How is THIS any different from indoctrinating our children with “religious views” these people seem to hate so much because THEY dont agree with it?
We cant have ANY mention of God in the classroom because A FEW HUNDRED THOUSAND PEOPLE DONT AGREE with it, yet THERE ARE MORE PEOPLE (MILLIONS) who DONT agree with the homosexual agenda and they STILL want to FORCE our children to READ ABOUT HOMOSEXUALITY!?! They slip it into their class work. Instead of Jimmy and his parents went to the store and bought 5 apples….THEY NOW want to say that Jimmy and both his dads went to the store and bought 5 apples……WHY?
Why FORCE ANY SEXUAL ACTIVITIES OR CHOICES on ANY of our school kids?
SEX IS NOT APPROPRIATE FOR ANY SCHOOL AGE STUDENT…so THE WHOLE ARGUMENY IS STUPID. THIS just PROVES the agenda is to FORCE accpetance of the homosexual lifestyle. WHY ELSE would they bring it INTO the CLASS ROOMS?

We should all read this at least once a week until November and we “throw the bums out!”

    545 vs. 300,000,000

Be you Republican or Democrat, you’ll want to read this short article.

Charley Reese’s articles have prompted more letters to the editor than any of the other Orlando Sentinel columnists in memory and he has sure hit the nail on the head here. 545 vs. 300,000,000 – What in the world happened to us? The article is completely neutral, not anti republican or democrat — just plain ole Charlie. If you do not know, he is retired reporter for the Orlando Sentinel who has been a journalist for 49 years.

Please share this with your friends.

    545 VS THE PEOPLE

    By Charlie Reese

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them…Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits? Have you ever wondered if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes? You and I don’t propose a federal budget. The president does. You and I don’t have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.

You and I don’t write the tax code, Congress does.

You and I don’t set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You and I don’t control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million who are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country. I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress.

In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason… They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don’t care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator’s responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party. What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits…The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker Of the House? Nancy Pelosi. She is the leader of the majority party… She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace 545 people who stand convicted — by present facts — of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can’t think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it’s because they want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it’s because they want it in the red…

If the Army & Marines are in IRAQ, it’s because they want them in IRAQ.

If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it’s because they want it that way…

There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power.

Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like “the economy,” “inflation,” or” politics” that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people and they alone, are responsible.

They and they alone, have the power.

They and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses.

Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees… We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY? Not a single tax existed 100 years ago, and our nation was the most prosperous in the world. We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids.

What in the hell happened? Can you spell ‘politicians?’

And I still have to ‘press 1′ for English!?

I hope this goes around THE USA at least 100 times!!!

YOU can help it get there!!!

    GO AHEAD – - – BE AN AMERICAN !!!!

    • chucky
