Obama’s Old Car Fails To Sell On eBay

CHICAGO, Feb. 2 (UPI) — A gray 2005 Chrysler 300C leased by Barack Obama in 2004 failed to sell for the asking price of $1 million on eBay, the Chicago-area seller said.

Lisa Czibor, the eBay seller working on behalf of owner Tim O’Boyle, said the $1 million asking price may have been too high for bidders and the auction ended Wednesday without any bids meeting the minimum, the Chicago Tribune reported Thursday.

“We’re trying to talk him into rerunning it now and making some changes to (the listing),” Czibor said. “Lowering the price, and contacting Obama to find out if there’s a charity he’d like us to donate some of the profits to. In the end, it’s (O’Boyle’s) car. It’s up to him.”

The description in the auction said Obama leased the car in 2004, when he was still an Illinois state senator, and he traded it in for a 2007 Ford Escape Hybrid while running for president.

“We have the original Illinois title showing this vehicle was actually used by Barack. 19,000 miles driven when this vehicle was Obama’s,” the auction description read.

Lisa, just tell potential eBay bidders that the vehicle requires a minimum bid of $1 and that it’s backed by the ‘full faith and credit’ of the best government MONEY can buy.
I don’t know why anyone would want that vehicle, but as nations around the world have known for a long time, some Americans will buy ANYTHING (merchandise, ideas, politicians, etc.).
Don’t forget to mention that the vehicle is being sold “as is,” and that anyone stupid enough to buy it has to go and get it (shipping is a bit steep for vehicles). Besides, the Air Force DOES NOT deliver cars to anyone who hasn’t been elected. Then again, American laws, rules and regulations have a strange way of being ignored over the last 3 years.
