Obama Unveils 2011 Budget, $1.3 Trillion To Be Added To Deficit

February 4, 2010 by

Obama unveils 2011 budget, $1.3 trillion to be added to deficitOn Monday, President Obama sent his $3.8 trillion budget to Congress for fiscal year 2011, a plan that will add $1.3 trillion to the already ballooning deficit.

The proposal includes spending approximately $100 billion on a job creation plan that will help supplement the $862 billion economic stimulus package that was approved last year. Other additions to federal spending include a $20 billion increase in education funding and a tax credit for small businesses that create jobs.

"The definition of insanity is doing the wrong thing over and over again and expecting change," said Senator Judd Gregg (R-NH.), quoted by Time Magazine. "Eight years out the president is projecting a trillion dollar deficit…that’s not acceptable."

Officials with the administration have stated that they will reduce the deficit in coming years by freezing discretionary government spending, imposing new fees on banks and allowing tax cuts on families making more than $250,000 to expire. Obama has also targeted 120 programs for termination or reduction, a plan that would save $20 billion if passed by Congress.

According to White House estimates, the budget’s deficit would fall to $700 billion in fiscal year 2013, although uncertainty surrounding Obama’s proposed healthcare bill leaves many questions still to be answered regarding future federal spending.

Let’s see. Obummer has NO business experience. He lives in a dream world. He surrounds himself with self-made losers. He hates America, and he is hell-bent on wrecking the economy in the name of ‘saving’ it.
The prostitute media treats him like he’s a rock star or a guru. He’s all talk and no action. HOW can ANYONE (other than one of his braindead followers) have faith in him?
Giving this prez more chances to destroy America makes about as much sense as claiming that Hitler got a raw deal because
he wasn’t in office ‘long enough.’ A LOSER IS A LOSER IS A LOSER, people.
HOW CAN SO-CALLED “ADULTS” BE SO S T U P I D?

• James

SC, what would you do? It’s easy to denigrate a president when nothing he advocates seems to have any effect on the economy, but name one thing you would do.

• blackhat

James, hmmm…let’s see…how about the political junkets of our esteemed congress. Then, we could move on to the pet projects like building bridges, etc. as these are a function of the states. Then, maybe we could look at the white house staff, the czars, etc. How about eliminating the IRS, EPA, etc. A flat tax and deregulation would be a good start…

• James

Blackhat, How would you eliminate Nancy Pelosi’s incessant junkets using military aircraft: (Bridges that are part of interstate commerce fall under federal jurisdiction, federal rebuilding of such bridges is mandated.) How would you trim down the white house staff? How would you eliminate the IRS? The EPA? How would you bring about a flat tax? And deregulation?

• American Citizen

How about vetoing the budget bill, the healthcare bill, eliminating the NEA, the EPA, and other unnecessary and redundant departments, laying off thousands of bureaucarats, Congress and Obama taking pay cuts like a lot of the citizens are having to do, and cutting every department’s budget at least 10%. They would have to set priorities, too.
Where’s the freeze?

• James

AmericanCitizen, How would you veto anything if you aren’t the president?

• JohnQ

How about limiting the size of government and their forced intrusion into every American’s way of life. It has been estimated that the number of government employees will grow beyond 2.1 million.
Fraud is rife throughout the government’s array of 1,800 different subsidy programs, including health programs.
Another spending pathology is cost overruns. Highway construction, defense procurement, and other federal spending projects often cost far more than budgeted. For example, Boston’s Big Dig highway project – which was mainly funded by federal taxpayers – was overwhelmed by poor management and ended up costing five times more than promised.
Some federal subsidy programs harm the environment. Farm subsidies induce farmers to overuse marginal farm land and sugar subsidies spur excessive sugarcane cultivation in Florida, which has damaged the Everglades. And for those who think that big corporations are the worst polluters, they should study the appalling environmental damage done at federal nuclear weapons sites. Taxpayers are spending billions of dollars every year cleaning up that mess.
The men who came to Philadelphia in 1787 to frame a new government believed that federal functions should be “few and defined,” with most activities left to the states and the private sector. They didn’t believe that one-size-fits-all federal spending programs made sense for a vast and diverse nation.
History has proved them correct. So rather than imposing another grand health-care scheme on the country, federal policymakers should focus on removing obstacles to bottom-up innovations that could more efficiently fix our health-care markets.

• James

JohnQ, How do you limit the size of government? How do you stop the government from spending $1.3 Trillion, more than its revenue?

• J C

How about adherence to the Constitution of the United States of America? That, all by itself would cure the problem.

• James

JC, How do you make Congress adhere to the Constitution? For example the Second Amendment states: “The right to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” How do you make Congress stop doing that?

• Joe H.

James,
I stated this the other day but obviously you missed it. You do this by voting the people that don’t support your ideals out and voting in people that at least closer mirror your ideals!!!!

• J C

You ignore laws that simply aren’t moral. You ignore the people that legislated them…and you vote them out. We have to let them know we’ll take just so much of their crap, and no more.

• TIME

As I see it we have a massive issue with folks out of work, the public job market is nearly nothing when we look at government jobs.

For one Barrys wife has 21 social advisor’s a Hair person a Makeup person so theres a good start. Hillery was noted as being very agressive with 3 aids, as no other first lady had more than one aid.

Next would be the issue of cutting government spending on “jobs within the government,” as well a reduction in pay for congress, and the senate.
To also drop them to the same product they want everyone else to use, as in the SS that Government has will be stopped then all funds folded in to the standard format we all use.
Their Pay after servie will be cut to ZERO, that alone would be massive, as in hundreds of Billions of dollars per year.

Also to cut the health programs these leaders have to what we all have to use, again a massive amount of savings. As in Hundreds of Billions of dollars.

Then, the next step is to attract business here in the US, rather than pushing it away. This would bring many hardships to us all here in the US but, in the long run as in within 50 years we could be stronger than ever. We would have to cut back the power on all UNION leaders. I know that sound not quite right, but it is.

Next term limits to all politicians. Term limits on all Well Fair,
Price fixing on all products sold that are made in the USA, this means that you will not be making any extra moneys, but a standard pay for a weeks work. Open the world market to the same fees we have to pay to them for sending our products to them.

Stop giving money and aid to countrys that HATE us! BILLIONS and BILLIONS saved daily.

Banks can’t charge more than prime plus 2% plus prime, of what can’t go higher than 3.5%.

All Criminals who have been convicted of any capital crime are put to death within one week after the end of trial.
All Gangs are busted up and the illeagl’s sent home.

Stop the stupid war on drugs. Again the savings is 350 Billion per year on somthing that has failed from day one.

Leaglize POT, grow it for Food, as well many green products, such as cloth, rope, paper, let alone the production of cars bodys that are bio dregadeable.
Again not just a cost cutting issue but a “MONEY making profitable” deal.

Next anyone have other ideas? I just cut billions what else you all got? Let alone made billions.

• James

TIME, How do you propose we bring all of that about? Write our congressmen? Drink a lot?

• Joe H.

James,
We do it by voting out the people that won’t work towards this idea and vote in the ones that will. If you think we can’t do it then YOU are already lost!!! BTW have you sent that birth certificate to any government officials yet?

• TIME

James, No let your local person running for congress or the senate, that you will not allow them to follow the path that has been going on for years. Tell them what you want and what you will expect from them.

• James

JoH, the Kenyan birth certificate of Obama was filed in a federal District Court in California, but it’s just gathering dust, the federal judge has just ignored it.
Time, I have writen to my congressmen on a regular basis for over two decades, my present representative and I are on a first-name basis. I wrote to him complaining about our foreign aid policy, which most Americans have always been against, and complained that the near-$3 billion aid to Israel, in view of our near-depression economy, was insane. He sent me a hand-writen card, which said he voted against it.

• http://Don'thaveone Sally

My opinion is that the only thing that at this stage of the game is to keep sending messages to your Congressmen to keep sending back Obama’s budget for rewriting until a. It is balanced, b. Entitlements are cut way down, c. expense accounts for all governmen officials including the white house are limited to what is absolutely necessary, not trips for vacations etc. Newt Gingrich did this when he was Speaker of the House to Clinton. Sent back the budget 5 times until Clinton got in right! I know we cannot count on Pelosi for that so we have to just keep bombarding Congress. I don’t think this Kenyan we have in office has any idea what a trillion is. Below I have listed what is really means:A.
A billion seconds ago it was 1959.
A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive. C.
A billion hours ago our ancestors were
living in the Stone Age..
A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth on two feet.
A billion dollars ago was only
8 hours and 20 minutes,
at the rate our government
is spending it.

While this thought is still fresh in our brain…
let’s take a look at New Orleans ..
It’s amazing what you can learn with some simple division.
Louisiana Senator,
Mary Landrieu (D) is presently asking Congress for 250 BILLION DOLLARS to rebuild New Orleans . Interesting number…
what does it mean?
Well… if you are one of the 484,674 residents of New Orleans (every man, woman, and child) you each get $516,528.
Or… if you have one of the 188,251 homes in
New Orleans , your home gets $1,329,787.
Or… if you are a family of four…
your family gets $2,066,012.
WE ARE ONLY TALKING BILLION – A TRILLION IS 100 TIMES MORE!!!

Thank you Sally. We can make all the logical recomendations we want and still not change incumbents. The only way to exact positive change is to this time know who we are voting for. It took one hundred years for things to get this way, it’s not going to get better overnight. We must be relentless now. If we are victorious, the history books will record these times as being amongst the darkest days we have ever faced.

“The price we pay for freedom, is eternal vigilance”.

• TIME

MJ, Your on target 100% there are no better words. If all of you really want change, be ready for many years of very hard times and very hard work.

You will need your long game plan out, as this is not going to get better any time soon.
Keep in mind as MJ noted this has been going on a LONG time and the web is layers thick, or deep if that works better for you.
As we take down one of the webs, there will be ten more just as hard to remove.
I figure that this will take no less than 25 years just to get to the break even point, then 25 more to remove all traces of the progressive movement, let alone all laws that they have built into not just the federal but state levels, even down to local towns witin a state.

• James

Sally, obviously we need more taxes so government can save us. A $14 Trillion national debt, with 300 million people, amounts to $46,666 per person – piece of cake – and Congress assures us that by 2015 they will balance the budget – we’re home free.

• J C

A Dreamer in Dream Land. Are you seriously that naieve?

• J C

James…maybe I missed the sarcasm.

• JoJo

1000 billions make a trillion.

• Kitty K

WOW, I couldn’t have said it better myself!

• Robert

I am outraged by this governments obscene spending binge. Save $20 Billion through cuts by 2013? What happened to the $200-$500 Billion in savings by agressively going after medicaid/medicare fraud? I want to know why this government is not doing this now. We don’t need no freaking health care bill to do it. So what are these politicians excuse. Let us all remember this in November and when all these phonies are campaining for re-election. Let’s see what excuses they have because anything they say doesn’t cut mustard with me.

• James

Robert, I agree, Congress just announced that they wont be able to balance the budget until 2015, which means for the next five years the national debt will continue to grow.
The reason Medicare and Medicade are abused is because there are too many layers of bureacrats between Congress and doctors’ offices. If someone walks into an ER or doctor’s office and says: “I’m sick, gimme all yer stuff”, no doctor will turn him down, they’re losing more and more business, daily, from the failing economy.

• Paul

Guys,
Unfortunately the American public are to lame and are so engrossed in “reality TV” and the “ME” distraction that it is not difficult for the political thugs to hoodwink them with glits ads and lofty false promise. More of the same…. UNLESS we wake them up and show them how their country is eroding just like the Roman Empire.

• Joe H.

Paul,
You are spot on! Ask most people who the speaker of the house is and they don’t know. Ask them who won American Idol and they can tell you who, what songs they sang, and what costumes they wore!!! Now I see nothing wrong with entertaining yourself with a little TV now and then, but not knowing the things that are affecting your life because of it is rediculous!!!

• James

Paul, I agree the American public is lame, so how do we wake ‘em up?

• David Forde

The actual deficit sits at @16 trillion!

• http://Yahoo Dan

It sure would help if we could recover that 9 trillion dollars that has mysteriously dissappeared. That is why we need to audit the fed. That is now unlikely with Bernanki whatever his marxist name is getting another term. Check to see how your reps voted on this and if they approved this crook let em know “Your Fired” November comes.

• http://PersonalLiberty Judy

Obama has his cult followers. The time will come when they are out of their trance and say what has happened to my freedom, liberty and where is our flag. Why oh why didn’t I see the signs. My children, grand children will never experience the America that I knew. They only way they will is in the movies.

• James

Judy, you sound more like Judy Dench. We have been heading towards communism since FDR.
FDR appointed a Committee on Economic Security (CES), to assure his ‘emergency’ measures wouldn’t fade away with time. His Secretary of Labor Frances Perkins (first female cabinet member) was the chairman of CES. At a New York meeting, married ‘Miss’ Perkins outlined provisions of the Social Security Bill then before Congress, and consented to questions. A young woman there-asked: “Have you read Karl Marx’ Manifesto?” Before Perkins could answer, the woman said: “Karl Marx’ Manifesto, page 30, proposes the same program that you have just outlined. How can you support such a program when you know that it is the same as Karl Marx’?” Perkins replied: “I am supporting it because I’d rather see it a reality than on page 30.” (See “Woman Accuses Miss Perkins of Soviet Drive”, Chicago Tribune, April 9, 1935.)
Who’s Who in America says “Miss” Perkins was the Executive Secretary of the Communist National Consumer’s League, New York, from 1910 to 1912, which was headed up by Florence Kelley. (“Miss” Kelley, also married, was the American translator of Friedrich Engels’ works and also his personal friend. Engels was Marx’s mentor.)
Lifting the immigration ban of years, Frances Perkins admitted such Communist agitators as English jailbird Tom Mann; John Strachey; Sean Murray “The Lenin of Ireland”; Henri Barbusse, French Communist Party head; Emma Goldman, Russian deported anarchist; Hanns Eisler, Communist song writer (who later taught at Eleanor Roosevelt’s School for Social Research); and Sandor Garbai, Hungary’s President of the Soviet Republic set up there by “Red Terror” head Bela Kuhn.

I think I just identified Mr. Obama’s best suited skill sets; that would be a used car salesman. The people at Lemon Lot Used Cars would love to hire him.

• Robert

Toyota is actively trying to recruit him. Their stock is tanking, do you think Obama will use the rest of the Tarp funds and give them a bail out? He did bow to the emperor, didn’t you see that?

• Raggs

Robert…
You may have a point, I can see obama throwing a bail-out to toyota.
Just another auto industry under his belt. I wonder how much stock that will give him in Japan?

• http://maandpa3334@yahoo.com Allan Chamberlain

I think that Obama should be taken out of office NOW befor he make’s the World go Brok,He has showed that he Hates America so bad he is spending ALL of our money so the Country will go BROKE,Then he can go back to his own home land.KICK HIM OUT NOW,A MONKEY COULD DO BETTER THAN HIM.

• James

Allan C., the world was going broke before Obama was nominated for the presidency. It’s the system, no money can come into existence unless someone borrows it at interest. This assures that the total debt owed to the bankers always exceeds the money in circulation. The term ‘bankruptcy’ originated from that. My gandparents never went into a bank in their entire lives. Nor did their lives change in any respect during the Great Depression of the 30s and 40s.

• Raggs

I think that’s his plan.. bankrupt the US to usher in the new world order.

• James

Raggs (to Riches?), I agree, when FDR took office in 1933, we were already in the depression, he just took advantage of that to nationalize the entire U.S. economy. When President-elect Obama was interviewed on 60 Minutes, he was asked if he had read “The First One Hundred Days” (which was just published about FDR). He answered ‘yes’ and said he would follow FDR’s lead, which he is obviously doing.

• Michael J.

James,
Obama also read, “The Post American World” authored by fellow Muslim, Fareed Zakaria.

• J C

And the march to hyper inflation continues. It’s the death knell of the USA if this Kenyan imposter has his way.

Hey Alan. Be careful about your analogy. You know. Some liberal

What a bunch a fakes and power grabbing fools come November say bye, bye….

And yet Obama looks the American People right in the eye….using his very best ‘honest look’…and tells them he is being fiscally conservative. Amazingly enough there are those that fall for it….how many times have you read recent blog comments that claim it is entirely Bush’s fault we have such a huge deficit?
http://www.thefedupamerican.com

• James

ThefedupAmerican, It is an historical fact that President Bush added more to the National debt than all previous presidents combined. Where have you been?

Obama vs. Bush: The Red Ink Showdown Obama vs. Bush: The Red Ink Showdown

By: Floyd Brown

“By the time I took office, we had a one-year deficit of over $1 trillion and projected deficits of $8 trillion over the next decade,” Obama said in his State of the Union speech.

“The Bush administration’s swing from surpluses to deficits added more debt in its eight years than all the previous administrations in the history of our republic combined,” David Axelrod, a senior strategist for Obama, wrote in The Washington Post.

The theme is clear. According to the Obama Administration deficits as far as the eye can see are the fault of one man: George W. Bush. They relentlessly push this message from the Obama White House. Let’s do a little fact checking.

First it is important to understand that an Administration only suggests a budget. Under our form of government, Congress is actually in charge of appropriating money. Hence, you have a mad scramble every two years, when committee assignments are passed out with Members of Congress elbowing each other to get a seat on the aptly named “Committee on Appropriations”.

So when Obama uses speeches to whine about the “fiscal disaster” he inherited from Bush, he should actually be complaining about the Democratic Congress run by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid that appropriated and adopted the budget during the later years of the Bush term.

As the party that controlled Congress since January 2007, it is the Democrats that have held all the cards in the budget debate. They essentially wrote the budgets for FY 2008, FY 2009, as well as FY 2010 and FY 2011. Oh, and if we need to remind him, Barack Obama served in these Democratic majorities, so he cannot feign ignorance of the process.

George W. Bush’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) during those years were constantly in conflict with the appropriators over spending too much money.

In FY 2009, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid actually bypassed Bush entirely, passing only continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. Then once Obama was safely in office they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the FY 2009 budgets.

So what did the deficits look like during the time period Congress was controlled by the Democrats? In the FY 2007 budget, the last of the budgets written by Republicans the deficit was the lowest in the last five years, and it was the fourth straight decline in deficit spending.

Once Democrats in Congress took control, the budgets and deficits exploded.

The budget just unveiled by Obama’s team is so large and so out of control, he should be embarrassed to compare it to any of the Bush budgets.

In a nutshell, the deficit will surge to a record-breaking $1.56 trillion. This tops the last shocking $1.41 trillion in red ink. And as Karl Rove pointed out in the Wall Street Journal, when measured against economic output, Obama looks even worse. “Mr. Bush’s deficits ran an average of 3.2 percent of GDP, slightly above the post-World War Two average of 2.7 percent. Mr. Obama’s plan calls for deficits that will average 4.2 percent over the next decade,” Rove wrote.

The deficit will remain above $1 trillion, even in 2011 when Obama’s so-called “budget freeze” begins. This is because in an Obama freeze spending in a multitude of programs actually goes up.

So the next time you hear the Whiner-in-Chief complain about his predecessor, remember the Congress that appropriated the funds were the Congresses in which he served in the majority.

So who inherited what?
read this and then tell me who did what

• James

Kathy, Whew! Will you marry me?

• Joe H.

Kathy,
Another reason the deficit goes up even in 2011 is that Obummer raised spending right before he froze it!!!!

• Raggs

I think he is counting on the health reform via taxes to cushen the spending…In other words his plan is to spend big and steal even bigger. Somebody has to pay for all of this and it sure wont be the white house or congress not to mention the free rides for the unions.

• http://www.ted.com/talks/karen_armstrong_makes_her_ted_prize_wish_the_charter_for_compassion.html Laura Schlegel

Too many are acting like big mean obstructionist bullies and just want Pres. Obama to fail at the expense of all of US, instead of working together to problem solve, even tho he reaches across the aisle and asks for their better ideas. Even when he includes their ideas, they still say NO! I say if the obstructionists aren’t going to grow up and get serious, move past them and leave them in the dust and let’s get our hard work done to heal the mess we inherited from years of neo”CON” movement, dumbing down America to shop, buy big cars, ignore the cost dirty energy, wars, factory farms, health care, predatory loans, the trans-national corporatocracy with their out sourced/off shored/taxed capped loopholes, who buy our government reps and have insidious global tentacles, as they continue their exploitative profiteering of people and life givng planet and then call themselves Christians, while they spread lies and hate. Time to demand our representatives use integral sound debate to work together to problem solve for the well being of PEOPLE & PLANET, not the personhood rights for corporations!

• Raggs

I don’t think you get it! Who is raising the debt by 1.3 trillion dollars? The evil corporations?… When we have 10% + unemployment who pay’s for the newly added 1.3? Is obama and clan going to spend it and then turn around and pay for it? Nope I bet the evil corporations will have to pay for it!!!!

• Les

One problem they are all lawyers. Whose main ability is to take from one deep pocket group, skim off some for themselves, then pass out the rest to others, in this case for votes. Most of them never had to really work for a living, unless you count showing up 3 days a week with a lot of time off. They do not know the meaning of money or how hard you have to work for it. Therefore it does not bother them to take it away from the productive and freely give to the non productive.

Each politian has to promise more entitlements & welfare to get elected, then in office not only does he have to fund those but has to keep funding all those promises made by politicians back thru Roosevelt and beyond which account for at least 60% of the budget. There is no way to stop disaster from comming as long as most people vote for themselves rather the country.

• Raggs

Exactly why obama is going through SEIU to purchase votes from illegals.

• James

Les, I agree, socialism is just communism in disguise. Back in 1936, the Supreme Court held six of FDR’s socialist programs unconstitutional. One, United States v. Butler, which voided his Agriculture Adjustment Act, said the federal government lacks the power to ‘tax one group for benefit of another.” Now, they do that with impunity, because most Americans don’t know federal powers are limited.

• J C

That’s right James. Keep an eye on the states that are setting up legislation to invoke their 10th Amendment rights. Things are getting very interesting.

• http://Don'thaveone Sally

You don’t have a clue Laura. Across the isle have been trying and trying to get him and the other egg heads to listen to their proposals but to no avail. He lies about that also. I guess you don’t know how to read.

• http://Don'thaveone Sally

PS Why do you think they won’t allow CSPAN in and have to do everything behind closed doors? Because you of their constiuants would finally know the TRUTH.

• JeffH

Laura Schlegel, I wouldn’t call them obsructionists for blocking the backroom liberal/Democrat legislation they have been denied a chance to participate in. The continued overspending and audacity to ignore “THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE”. Poor Obama and Pelosi, Reid and anyone else in the government for that matter. NOT!

• Joe H.

Laura,
You need to do a little research!!! Check out your statements before printing please. The repubs HAVE given plans to o-man but all have been tabled in record time!!! Check out HR956 that basically puts us on the same type of coverage the politicians have and it was tabled so fast the ink arrived ten minutes after the paper!!! The politicos don,t want anything to do with anything that puts them on our level and that is proven by the fact that they don,t include themselves in any plan they try to pass!!!!

• usmadgirl

Laura Schlegel,

I am not a mean person, but you have got to be kidding! Did you just wake up from a year long coma? Or maybe listenting to the “Obamamedia”?

YES, we want Obama’s AGENDA to fail!!! If we didn’t, it would mean that we APPROVE of living in a Marxist country or maybe you’d like to live in a One World Government. I, and most of the people on this site, DON’T! If you think we can condone the “fundamental transformation” of our great country just to keep this Marxist maniac from failing, you are sadly mistaken. If he FAILS, this country might have a chance. If he succeeds, we’ll be living in a third would country. In case you didn’t know, China practically owns us.

The Republicans have tried to have a bi-partisan association with the Democrats to no avail. They’ve been completely SHUT OUT of all communication! Obama hasn’t “reached across the aisle”. He can’t because in order to accomplish his agenda he has to do everything behind closed doors to hide all the conniving, radical things they’re doing to destroy our economy & have complete control of our lives.

If you believe in the “climate change” lie, then I just don’t know what to tell you.

I resent your remark that Christians are “spreading lies & hate”. The only people spreading lies & hate are the progressives & their leaders!

• coal miner

Laura S,

Amen to that!

• Joe H.

Laura,
and coal minors post agreeing with you only adds to the FACT that you are misinformed!!!!

• J C

Obama is a puppet and a communist. yes we can yes we can yes we can…zeig heil zeig heil zeig heil….

• James Corbin

The only thing Obama, knows is to spend, spend and more spend. By the way–I get so tired seeing him on TV. He is on their all the time—-
Still Campaigning!!! Saying all kinds of things B.S,
Excuse me, but the Republicans have come up with ideas and the Dems. went behind close doors and wouldn’t let the Reps. have part.

• James Corbin

There!

• Matty

Like the Jews that believed in Hitler before WW2, the Obama sheeple, media included, can’t seem to find the forest thru the trees….pure insanity!!

• blackhat

Here we go again…look back at recent GDP and jobless charts; it is interesting to note the changes. Over the past few years the jobless rate was moving along at 5.0, 4.7, 5.2, and then, in 2007 it starts inching up. And by the time you get to the end of 2008, it’s almost going straight up to 10%. It is also interesting to note that the single biggest month for job loss since 1974 was in November 2008 (Obama’s election).

With the 2007 GDP, if you look at the same time period, you will start to see it come down shortly after the start of 2007. That happens to coincide when the Democrats took control of Congress. Could it be that businesses know that taxes and increased spending are inevitable with a Democrat congress?

As we all know, Congress controls the purse strings. The people are waking up to this fact. I suggest that you look for congress to cut government entitlements and expansion, and instead concentrate on decreasing government regulation to allow the private sector to right this careening ship.

• DaveH

Oh, come on. Let’s not get all worked up over $1.3 Trillion more spending. That’s only $4000 for each person (man, woman, or child) in this country. Wouldn’t you all gladly pay $4000 for each member of your family for all this wonderful Government that we get?

• jim

Hi James, I turned on the Weather Channel, He was even there. You just can’t get away from the guy.

• Raggs

Good point….
The GDP is based upon consumer confidence and spending, it crashed shortly after the election in 08… Nobody on the hill see’s this even today. And it WILL not get any better with an out-of-control government in fact we are probably headed for another crash.

• blackhat

That’s is absolutely true raggs. A large part of the GDP is affected by business inventory. As we saw a much touted slight rise last week that was caused by businesses who had reached the bottom of their inventory restock a little. But, inventory is never supposed to be static, businesses need customers to come through the door and buy! But, with the current state of affairs consumers are just not confident enough and would rather save than spend.

• Raggs

blackhat..thank you!

I have been thinking also this year can go one of two totally different way’s.

1… the November elections can remove alot of the dem’s and that will limit obama’s power which in turn MAY boost consumer’s.

2… the elections will remove dem’s and replace them with clueless repub’s which will further diminish the confidence of consumer’s.

3… enougth dem’s remain to push through obama’s radical agenda’s breaking the consumer’s by massive taxes and government intrusion’s.

• Frank

When I go shopping I am so glad there are more then 2 choices…oh wait thats right we do have more then 2 choices in America but be never utilize our third choice. Maybe its TIME we start!

• J C

Indeed. And they will be the first to know it while the rest of us have prepared.

• Raggs

Just passed by both the house and senate a 14.9 trillion dollar debt.
Most all democrumb’s voted yea… All repub’s voted na.
November will not get here fast enough!!!

• J C

Why yes Dave. In fact all I really need is a burlap sack to wear and a task to perform so that the benevolent government will give me and my offspring some gruel to eat in our cave. After all, I’m a true patriot. Should there become too many of us for our benevolent government to feed I will gladly offer to step into the “showers” to help out our great society in its effort to maintain a healthy number of workers.
I am after all….a Liberal American. ;)

• J C

Obama is peddling as fast as he can to ruin America before he and his bandits are voted out.

• L, USA

You are being DUPED here. Posts are being deleted to skew the direction of thought on the boards. THOUGHT POLICE are Sharks!!!

• libertytrain

L, USA what are you trying to say?

• Joe H.

L, USA,
Control your mouth or in this case your fingers and you won’t have that problem!!! you are not the only libber or person of any persuasion here!!!!

• Claire

HUH?

• PBERRY53

James, I can’t help but wonder why you feel that you are the answer to everyone’s statements. Why not give it a rest and let the rest of us speak our piece without your inserts.
My opinion is…impeachment and then start from scratch on a rational solution.

• James

PBerry53, I agree. I was just trying to get an idea of what those of us who don’t like what’s happening to our country, should do about it. The consensus seems to be (1) Write your congressmen, and (2) Vote the socialists out of office. A third option would be to challenge unconstitutional laws, which there are gobs of, in federal court. The problem with that though is that most Americans don’t know that federal legislative powers are limited to those in Art. I, Sec. 8.
