Obama To Increase Taxes Over The Next Decade

February 8, 2010 by

Obama to increase taxes over the next decadeTo help subsidize the $3.8 trillion proposed budget for fiscal year 2011, President Obama will increase taxes on some businesses and upper-income households by nearly $2 trillion during the next decade, a plan that will still leave the nation with $8.5 trillion in added debt in 2020, The Wall Street Journal reports.

By allowing the cuts introduced by the previous administration to expire, Obama will increase taxes on families with a household annual income above $250,000 by as much as 3.6 percent. Oil companies will also lose $35.5 billion in tax breaks over the next 10 years.

Some of Obama’s other initiatives include limiting the tax deductions that the wealthy can claim for charitable donations, mortgage payments and local taxes, according to Fox News.

The president’s new increases have drawn the ire of many fiscal conservatives, including several top Republicans in the House.

"This budget features too many new taxes, too much new spending and too much new debt," said Representative Dave Camp of Michigan, the lead Republican on tax-writing for the House Ways and Means Committee, quoted by the news source.

Through various programs and credits, the current administration will also cut taxes for some workers and other businesses by approximately $330 billion.

if I’ve got this right… Barack and the Democrats have caused all the problems in the world but during the Bush years, the debt ceiling was raised 5 times to accomodate the war spending and tax breaks… give me a break.. no wonder conservatives are looked at like a bunch of old ladies… gossip gossip gossip… find some truth folks… we were not born yesterday!

    • Michael J.

      Nancy,
So you are saying that the sins of the present leaders are somehow justified by the sins of others?

      • Harold Olsen

That sure sound to me what she is saying. My mother had a favorite adage she used to say to me and my siblings when we were kids. I’m sure you’ve all hear it: Two wrongs don’t make a right. Bush was a socialist not a conservative. As Charles Krauthammer said, the most socialist president in the history of this country. However, Congress controls the money. No president can spend a dime without their approval. They could have stopped Bush anytime they wanted. But as long as he was spending they were willing to let him go with it. Now, Obama is trying to outdo Bush and the Congress, controlled by Democrats, as they were through much of Bush’s presidency, are more than willing to give him carte blanche to waste our and money and deliberately bankrupt the economy and destroy our country. It’s as though they want to destroy our country, which I believe they do, and the Republicans are too spineless to try to stop them. It’s time the American people took back their country. LOCK AND LOAD!!

Correct Robert. Who even knew in 2000 and 2004 that the Bushes, H.W. and son were NWO activists. All of Washington has become infected with these enemies of our Sovereignty, Constitution and American Heritage. They ARE the Progressive Communists both Republicans and Democrats. These Evil men and women will be shown the door out beginning November onwards. The Sleeping Giant has been awakened to what is happening in Washington and on Capitol Hill. Marxian theory plans to implement complete government dictated legistation that takes aim at our American Liberties and way of Life.

Keep standing strong against these Enemies all American Patriots who love this great nation of Capitalism and Free Enterprise.

Vote out ALL imcumbants, Republican and Democrat.

          Progressive / Democrat / Communists = Tyranny

We WILL NOT take it anymore. Stick a fork in yourself Oboma.

          • realbigal

You ask who knew that in 2004 and 2000 that George Readmylips Bush and George Quincy Bush were NWO advocates?? Well, many of us did, and we tried to do something about it. We printed and distributed much literature exposing the liar and the dolt, from as early as 1978. The fact that many people did not know it until recently just goes to show the power of the Establishment in covering up and minimalizing the truth. Perhaps with the emerging power of internet communications today we can be more successful in helping all Americans understand what is going on. Check out http://www.jbs.org.

          • Captian Righty

I deal with small and large businesses on a daily basis with the uncertianty of what these idiots are going to do next has them setting on the fence, like it or not the economy is not going to start moving until the business men have a warm fuzzy feeling about the future including mine we have put a temporary freeze on new hires. Obama’s idea that some who has worked 10 to 16 hrs a day for 25 years should have the honor of paying more tax then the person that sits around watching Dr. Phil and looking for hand outs is going to kill America. Someone told me a long time ago everyone has the same number of hours in a day it’s how you use them is what determines your future

          • Jana

George Bush Sr. spoke openly abut the NWO. The only problem was he was still the better of the two choices. So was G W Bush. We would have been having the same problems 9 years ago if we had Gore the Global Warming fiasco as Pres. He can’t even get that right.

          • Jana

I meant to say we would have been having the same problems we are today with Obama 9 years ago with Gore in as Pres.
Although on second thought, Gore is just a bumbling idiot while Obama is cunning.

          • Dawn Burt

            Hey Nancy
SHUT UP and ask yourself this question ?? Obama spend more money in 3 months than Bush spent in 8 years. Where do you think the money came from honey???? OPPP that right a brainwashed idiot is exactly that. It came from SOCIAL Security. DID YOU KNOW OBAMA spent every last dime there that your parents or grandparents depending how old you are will not have there checks covered by the end of the year??? DID you know that OBAMA now has a plan to force all people with 401K to give the money to the federal government??? FOR THAT NATIONAL RETIREMENT PLAN. off course it really is so that no one figures out that he used the money that was there already for his bail out of AIG bonuses, wall street, and his pet project to destroy the USA. GET OVER IT NANCY because your 5 minutes of fame it up and we the conservatives here in this country know you and your world government cronies did this to destroy this country, create one world rule, and make that a commi like state with the Muslims extremist running an army to keep us people who really love freedom in concentration camps so that we are killed (PS that is about 6 billion of us and you will be there as well honey unless you are one the 500,000,000 people the Bildenberg group decided were worth saving. )

          • Joe H.

            Dawn Burt,
Could you please post a site for that comment on the 401 accounts? I haven’t heard about that and being about the age to start collecting I would like to know! Thanks in advance!

          • Joe H.

Has anyone else heard anything about the 401k funds scam??? I guess Dawn doesn’t want to answer me. Or maybe there isn’t a site!!!

        • PruTexas

I would like to know when Obama must take responsibility? G. W. Bush is no longer our President so why are you and the Obama Group always dwelling on the past. Grow up……..

    • JeffH

Would you by any chance be? Nancy Pelosi?

      • Time

        Jeff,
I think you may be on to something.

    • milo

Nancy, you are showing your flaws as well when you make generalizations. You indulge in name-calling and various references which are of no substance.
We all need to learn to communicate on the issues alone, and to do so intelligently. If one cannot then they should remain on the sidelines.
I, as do many, understand our government has raised the debt ceiling during many administrations. While there may be some shallow minds out there that cannot see the flaws in all parties and policies, we really need only to focus now on changing what we can vice complaining about what has transpired and which now beyond our control.
Here’s to intelligent discourse – working on the present and for the future,
      Milo

    • Golferbug

      Hello Nancy,
I can’t tell by your response if you are an old lady or a very young person so I can’t tell if you were
born yesterday. Your thought pattern indicates that you, like Obama, are very inexperienced. Bush was
defending the United States. Obama has increased our debts many times more and has put our
lives in jeopardy. It is the responsible of the President to secure the safety of all its citizens and on
Christmas Day we almost lost 300 Americans due to EXTREME neglect and total incompetence. This should be punishable by law.
      Anxiously awaiting your response.

      • chipshot

        Golfer,
Not only has islamobama redefined the word “debt”, he has give new meaning to the word “incompetence” too.

    • chipshot

Is the only defence liberals have of the idiot islamobama’s debt generation that bush did it too? Enuf already with the bush comparison! No one that is truly a conservative would attempt to defend bush.

Believe me. islamobama has redefined the word “debt”.

    • apple eater

Bush made his fair share of mistakes but he didn’t authorize the spending, he requested support for our troops to fight the terrorism that Obama has reversed and embraces the terrorist and calls us the aggressor while we have consistently tried to make peace and only finally went after al Queda after they had attacked us 4 times. That isn’t being aggressive.

As far as the cost of the War on Terror, it cost us far less per year than 1/2 of what the costs of the illegals that come in through Mexico every year. Obama is the one who totally wants to open the border and allow every Mexican access to all of our social programs and Medicare (that I have paid into for 45+ years) without contributing anything to our society. Mexicans DO NOT take jobs American would not take if they were allowed to get them. We have over 60 million people the feds acknowledge as being unemployed who are on Unemployment. There are at least that many who have taken part-time jobs that are no longer counted. Then there are at least that many who have been mislabeled as INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS who are not counted as unemployed. Let’s don’t forget the seniors and those who have been unemployed so long they fell off the UIC roles and we have at least 400% of the acknowledged rate of unemployment. The real rate is more like 40-45% of this nation. Now we have also to add those who are working full-time jobs and still not making a living wage. It makes you stop and think about what the real unemployment rate is. Obama promised to CREATE JOBS and he has in CHINE AND INDIA but he has instituted all kinds of things to KILL JOBS in the good ole USA.

He promised an open and transparent government and yet his tactics are all Chicago style backroom dealings that totally exclude the Republicans who keep fighting for a responsible government and try to kill his tax and spend policies that quadrupled the national debt in less than 100 days in office and he is still printing money with no end in sight with his majority in both houses of Congress and his crooked backroom deals with his party members, Union bosses, banks (who deliberately caused the housing and banking crisis), auto industry (that the Unions have just about killed and now own), and the insurance companies that finance the Washington burocrats pension (AIG) with our money. WE THE PEOPLE (who are hard bent to just put food on the table) ARE THE ONES WHO ARE PAYING FOR ALL OF THEIR PORK – NOT Obama.

History has proven that tax and spend will totally collapse an economy, where conservative and responsible budget and tax cuts and reduced government have proven time and again that it will stimulate and economy, create jobs, and put the economy back on the right track. If we could get this kind of actions going in Washington we could see a recovery. In the last year we have seen our national debt grow to the point that if NO ADDITIONAL SPENDING WERE DONE FOR ANYTHING three generations of unborn people will have to pay for the damage that has been done.

It is time for this country’s leadership to look at real ways to fix things and throwing money at the problem does not work.

For those who agree to what Obama is doing, I don’t think you will find anone who would have a problem with you picking up all of the additional tax he has and is planning to force on the rest of us, giving your jobs to those of us who are struggling to pay our bills and want decent paying jobs, give up your homes to those of us who have been duped by the banks who are deliberately stealing peoples homes and buying them back at their illegal foreclosure sales for as little as $100 – yes ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS, and while you are at it create new jobs for the rest of us with all the additional tax that is killing more jobs as we speak.

  • DaveH

Uh, let’s see, he’s a far-left Democrat. More taxes? Does that somehow surprise anybody?

    • JeffH

I beg to differ, he poses as a far left Democrat but he is a straight up Marxist.

      • Jana

        JeffH

        Amen.

        • Time

          Ditto.

          • Alan Clark

That is the absolute truth folks. This piss pore excuse for a leader is bent on one thing and one thing only. And boy…if I have to tell you what that is then you have been living in some kind of fantasy world…

  • s c

Whatever Nancy is smoking, it must be incredibly STRONG (and illegal). First, I don’t know any conservatives who are DUMB enough to claim that Obummer and his flunkies are to blame for ‘everything in the world.’ Second, true conservatives and liberals have been extinct for at least 40 years.
Third, most career politicians aren’t entitled to call themselves Republicans or Democrats. They sold their posteriors and their souls long ago. According to the Founding Fathers, we are not to trust a political party. They were right, and America is paying the price for forgetting it.
I challenge Nancy and everyone else to do what they can to bypass political parties, and start thinking and using the Constitution to preserve America while it’s still possible. Anybody who has faith in a political party is no better than a domestic enemy.

    • Laura

You hit the nail on the head! The days of blind party loyalty are over. We all are responsible for examining the candidates and voting for those who uphold the Constitution AS IT IS WRITTEN

  • Robert

The politicians in Washington still don’t get it. All of them. We, the American people, want them to cut back on spending, stop the hand out programs (pork) and cut back on government expansion and growth. I guess they’ll finally get it when we, the American taxpayers and voters, kick them out of their offices this November. Look for Libertarian candidates. They seem to be on the same page most Americans are.

    • Alan Clark

Personally, I can’t hardly wait for November to get here. There will come a glorious day in our countries history as we, the American People watch the poles close and begin seeing these worthless bastards walking out one by one with their hats in their hands. It’s going to happen people. I have never seen this country in such an uproar over it’s governing body in my 68 years. And if they somehow manage to remain in power, then I will know dam well that there has been some foul play (can you say ACORN). The people are fed up, all of them with few exceptions,so keep the faith in knowing that the voters will change the course of this GREAT NATION and once again build it back to the country that we know and love.
      GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

  • http://wishihadone R H

For Eyeswideopen to mention Reagan and Obama in the same sentence is a huge insult to Reagan. There could not be two men farther apart in their view of the United States of America. One saw the USA as the greatest nation on earth and the other sees the USA as the biggest problem on earth. Regan saw the American people as strong, freedom loving, independent, and very capable of looking after themshelves the other sees us as weak, incapable of living productive lives without cradle to grave government control, bible and gun toting Christians that must be controlled by he and his “czars”. Reagan will always be remembered for the fall on the Soviet Union and years of great prosperity. Obama is on track to rival Jimmy Carter as to which was the biggest mistake make by the American electorate….. I fear Obama will leave us a broken and financially ruined nation……

  • George

    Folks,

Increasing taxes is the wrong “solution” for what ails our economy. That just takes money out of the private sector thereby slowing the recovery, which eventually should occur in spite of the government. Increasing tax rates disincentivizes work and investment, and encourages further wasteful spending by the government. The only real solution is to significantly cut government spending. The more this is done, the better and more effective the solution. Violate this principle at your peril. Taxing and spending will eventually throw this country into a depression the likes of which we just can’t imagine. To make it all the worse, much of the rest of the world has been following the example of the U.S., so if the economy crashes, this one is going to be a real “heart-stopper”, and it may not be all that far off. So, it’s real important that our government not do anything economically stupid at this time.

    • JeffH

What are you saying. Any insane person on this site knows that it takes huge tax increases to fix all of GWB’s damage to the country.
The rich communists are going to pay through the nose.
And….if you make any statements with Hitler in it, duh!nisso will turn you in to the Gestapo.

  • Proud American

This corrupt administration has no problem governing “against” the will of the people of America. The entire 2008 campaign was based on lies. Obama, Pelosi, Reid and other liberals made promises and pledges they did not keep. Now, Obama is campaigning for 2010 and 2012! Americans are fed up with HCR and Cap and Trade. We want them to create jobs and reduce debt, among other things. Obama and the liberals in Congress plan to cram this down our throats, regardless of what it takes.

    • George

And if the Democrats insist on passing these bills this year, a lot of the Congressmen and women who vote for them will be going home after the November elections, and to make it worse for them, their replacements will have a mandate from the people to undo the damage. That will add insult to injury for Obama.

  • Tim

Republican and Democratic administrations have both passed tax cuts and tax increases. Even Ronald Reagan raised taxes (in 1982). Bill Clinton raised taxes early in his first term, and inspite of it, over 20 million new jobs were created. Bush cut taxes twice and got us into two recessions, hemorrhaging about 3.7 million manufacturing jobs. So quit typing cutting taxes to jobs being created.

Obama cut taxes to 95% of working Americans, just like he promised on the campaign trail. Those earning over $250,000 should pay more taxes; they can afford it, plus they made off lie bandits under Bush. As far as the tax increases huring small businesses, that is baloney! Only about 2% of small businesses earn less than $250,000 a year.

    • Joe H.

      Tim,
yup he cut taxes, then took it right back when you paid your taxes. Check it out!!! I know, it wasn’t his fault, he didn’t know he needed that money to bail out his favorite bank!!!!

    • Fed Up Gal in NM

      Tim,

I don’t make anywhere near that amount of income; I have no doubt I could have, if I would have applied myself in that direction or if I was that ambitious. I chose a different route, and I’m happy with my choice. I don’t need, nor do I desire to steal from those who have obtained a higher financial level. I have enough self-esteem to know that my choice was “my” choice and their choice was theirs.

I could care less that you feel its okay to blatantly steal from those who make more than $250,000. You’re just a thief…and so is anyone who would support such a philosophy. Simply put, jealousy is not a justifiable reason to steal from others…and that’s exactly what you are advocating. Thievery is not becoming, Tim!

      Fed Up Gal

  • Joe H.

    eyes,
lets see you defend this budget!!!! Keep right on defending it right up to the time you lose your job and your money!!! We just paid off our house this month so we haven’t any worry there and more in the bank to follow!!! Even with that I’ll still do whatever I legally can to stop this horses a$$ from destroying my country!!!! You may not care if that happens lady but I definately do!!!!

  • Joe H.

Night all God Bless all of you who wish the best on this great country. Those who don’t, May he send you all to hell!!!

  • Harold Olsen

Barack Obama is going to raise taxes over the next ten years? Gee, what a surprise! That’s actually a given. But, he won’t stop with business and upper income families. We’ll all get hit with higher taxes and anyone who doesn’t believe that is just plain stupid. And these tax increases won’t do a damn thing to help the economy because all Obama and the Democrats will do is spend and waste the money on programs that do not work. Tax, spend and waste is all the Democrats know how to do. It’s the breath of life to them and, unfortunately, the Republicans are too spineless to try to stop them. Come November, the American people need to take back their country and throw these thieves out of office and I’d love to see them thrown out of the country as well or maybe sent to prison for life, which is where they belong.

  • JeffH

Last Friday, Congressman Jeb Hensarling challenged President Obama on national television about his plans to triple the national debt and put government spending on a path to equal almost 25% of our national economy. If you watched ‘Fox News Sunday’ or ‘Meet the Press’ this weekend, you saw it.
Not only did President Obama refuse to answer my question, he questioned my integrity. He said, “That’s factually just not true and you know it’s not true.” I worked hard to become an Eagle Scout, and I consider myself a man of honor. When I am wrong, I will be the first to admit it. But I’m not wrong.

I am now being attacked on the pages of the New York Times as a “radical ideologue” and Daily Kos called our exchange the “most contentious of the afternoon.” ‘Hardball’ host and former Tip O’Neill staffer Chris Matthews called my math “budget bologna”. Clearly the Left is out to discredit me simply because I laid bare the harsh realities about the record-setting spending coming out of Washington.

As the #2 Republican on the House Budget Committee it’s my job to know the facts about the federal budget. I have not been afraid to push Republican leaders to take more conservative positions. Our nation simply can’t afford to spend at a dangerous rate that passes trillions of dollars in debt on to our children and grandchildren.

Apparently President Obama hasn’t heard the cries of anger from millions of taxpayers across the country, because his 2011 budget will triple the national debt and puts government spending on a path to equal 25% of the entire U.S. economy.

  • Doc Sarvis

Looks to me like President Obama is trying to correct the situation the country is in. If we have huge deficits we need to correct that. Makes good sense.

  • Lloyd Revalee

Granted, the President does have a great deal of influence over actions being taken, and set out the policy and action he wants to take. However, Congress makes the laws, controls the money, and decides on whether taxes will be raised, lowered, or left the way they are. Lets quit blaming everything that happens on the President, and jump on Congress. They were elected to do what the people want, and if they do not do so, kick their sorry asses out. Those like Spector, who was elected as a Republican, should have lost his seat when he decided to become a Democrat. The voters did not elect a Democrat to that seat, so why should he still be there. If we do not do something about our Congress soon, we may later have to revolt. We will not be revolting against the government, for, according to the Constitution, we are the government. We will be revolting against the very people we have sent to Wahington to represent us. The ones that represent everyone in the world except us.

  • Michael J.

    Doc Sarvis,
I get it, if you dig a hole, you get to fill it back in.

  • Jana

    Doc S.
Sure Obama is trying to fix a mess, by creating a bigger mess? That is all he has done is make a mess bigger. He sure hasn’t helped this country.

  • Fed Up Gal in NM

    Doc Sarvis,

I believe Obama and his entourage of ultra-libs are engaging in mis-guided (at best) or intentional (at worst) governmental control…not governmental reform as they profess.

If the present regime (and those supporting it) was even remotely sincere about correcting the deficit….they would promote across the board cut-backs…not just higher taxes on those they consider wealthy. Nor would they be creating new areas and ways to spend money we simply do not have. In all families, there is a time to spend wisely and a time to conserve for a rainy day. The problem is that rainy day is now here! Maybe a little financial tough love, as opposed to continual financial bailouts is needed. When our nation’s financial picture has dramatically improved, we can re-look at a very few areas with which to direct our taxpayer dollars…not until then!

By the way, who really decides what annual income is considered wealthy? The President?….Congress….?…You? Even the current administration who is responsible for the birthing of this idea…has had considerable trouble nailing down an absolute undeniable figure…..understandably so. Do you really think those in Washington who support Obama’s tax the wealthy plan…are going to relinquish up to 50% of their own annual income above $250,000? Surely everyone understands that many in Washington make well beyond that….in book publishing, lectures (just look no further than Al Gore and the Clintons) and the next likely avenue, Government-Reality TV (example: Bloglavavich…misp???, but not important enough to look up the exact spelling for those ready to leap on the possible typos). I don’t even think Oprah would do that….although I believe she would publicly support such a policy when presented by anyone on the left.

I’m not in that (current) $250,000.00 (or above) annual income, not $200,000, not $100,000 or near… and likely never will be. I still don’t believe it’s fair, responsible or even reasonable to “mandate” anyone pay a higher cost (via percentage of income) to cover financial short-falls (for the nation or for individual citizens, and certainly not for non-citizens). That’s simply equates to dictatorship type governments.

I also agree with others who have tried to remind those with short memories…that Bush would not have been able to spend even as he did…if he did not have the support of Congress…a democrat controlled Congress, no less. There’s still no getting around that.

    Fed Up Gal

  • Doc Sarvis

At least when he sees a hole, dug by him and the previous administration, he takes responsibility for it. Fix it, don’t just talk about it.

  • Raggs

Funny article…. obama will not be a “president” in a decade much less post three more year’s… lame duck will not be any leader except for the progressive movments… HAIL HITLER obama.

  • eyeswideopen

Joe, look at the link I left for Dave, it appears that Obama is trying to do what Reagan did. Country is in similiar situation, with a recession, large deficit and over 10% unemployment. He had advantage of increase in SS taxes and SS enrollment. He also had biggest increase in military spending during a non war time frame. In 86 he shifted the tax burden from individuals to businesses. Reagan did have the largest tax cut, but then had to increase it in 82,84,86. Bush came right behind him and had to increase it again.

  • Jana

HAHAHAHAHA LOL You are too funny.

  • DaveH

    What Link?
The only similarity to the Reagan years is that the Congress is controlled by Democrats.

  • Robin from Indiana

To compare Barry to Regan has got to be the most ludicrous thing you have ever posted!

  • Michael J.

Really EWO, there’s no way Obama could have played in Reagan’s league. The closest he could have ever got would have been if he had co-starred in “Bedtime for Bonzo”.

  • Fed Up Gal in NM

    Doc Sarvis,

Nice…real nice. There you go with that emotional blackmail again. Your theory is a very noble gesture…when one takes their own “personal” responsibility to fix such messes….not so noble when forcing others to pay an unfair percentage!

It’s pretty simple; 5, 10, 15, 20% of nothing is nothing……5, 10, 15, 20% of a lot more….well…it’s a lot more! At least then, people would have to budget their own income and not that of others!

    Fed Up Gal

  • Robin from Indiana

Are you kidding me!!!!???? This administration will still be blaming President Bush as they are on their way out! Barry and his buddies have lowered the bar so low that it can’t go too much lower! They have lied and lied and are still lying. And, it’s not just them! All lying politicians need to go. They are not good for our country!

  • s c

Fed Up Gal, people finally know that when Obummer says ‘reform’ he means destruction. He almost seems to think people who were on the Titanic were lucky (what’s in the water at Harvard?).
When both the Chinese and Russian goverments tell Obummer that he’s wrong, only an agenda-driven, America-hating anarchist could have any use for someone like Obummer.
America will pay a high price for Obummer being in the White House. And future generations will pay an even higher price.

    Michael J,
No, O-mans way of looking at it is if you dig yourself into a hole you correct it by digging deeper!!!!

  • Joe H.

    Hey Doc Jarvis,
I spent too much on my credit card this month. How bout you come and fix it with your money? Isn’t that what you are saying should be done????

  • Joe H.

    sorry,that was to Doc Sarvis.

  • Doc Sarvis

Personal responibility. I’m taking care of my bills and taxes (whatever they may be). I hope that you will be able to do the same. If you can’t I hope that you have friends and family that will help. If I am your friend and I can help I will. Good luck to you.

To all the knuckleheads in Washington who call themselves representatives of the American People. I’ve been unemployed for over one year. There are two words I say each day to help me through these tough times “STOP SPENDING”. Except for food, shelter, utilities, insurance or other essential needs, I follow these two words. That’s why I have no debt and can weather this current economic downnturn. And I’m not as smart one of those politicians in Washington who say they know better what’s good for me. I’m beginning to wonder how really smart they are. Might have to change some things this comming November.

Folks its called “ANTI LOGIC,” a class that you take at Harvard Law, as well as Acting class 101, 202 and 303. It seems that Barry Aced all these class’s.

Then he went on to Rev Wrigths school of I hate you, backed with his past history also of note he just wants to have more blood on his hands than his father, of whom he wrote of.
But managed to miss the part his father played in out right murder’s.

Think of it like this, Hitlers son is now our president.

Why is it that our society is willing to accept the concept of “bail outs” for anyone who has “spent beyond their means” or “has taken bad risks”? Every tax paying American Citizen should be absolutely outraged at the government for even considering the “bail out” of AIG, Fannie and Freddie as well as GM. This absurd concept of “spreading the wealth” needs to be squashed now! This government needs to reign in the spending, cut unnecessary and special interest programs – get this budget into balance – then go from there. We need to shrink government, not make it larger. The members of government need to come down to earth – they should not be eligible for the cadillac insurance coverages and should be made to live with the same premiums and coverage choices all of us who pay their salaries and premiums must put up with. They have forgotten who they are serving!

  • Tim

Don’t let him (BO) fool you into who’s paying for all this. There’s not enough “rich” people in the country, so EVERYONE will be stuck paying for this hole that DC past and present has buried us in.
I still say his inexperience is truly coming out, and his party’s only answer is tax & spend. BO doesn’t really have a clue on anything. His “job experince” is nothing more than being a high priced attorney for a shady organization. Oh yea, he did ace the acting classes. He might be president be he’s not a leader.

What obummer fails to realize is that a lot of those making over the $250K mark are young(30-40′s) people with families, 2 or more children, have high mortgage payments, high utilities, etc. They are not spending beyond their means and are saving for college, for retirement, etc. So what happens when they take 50% of their income over the so-called threshold? A lot will end up losing their homes, using the college funds, retirement funds, etc. So the lazy welfare morans can live a better life?? No I don’t think so, they will use any funds they get to buy their drugs, whore their children, and have more children. Those people love welfare and will not get off it unless forced into jobs of some sort. I have lived long enough to have been through WWII and the rest and have seen first hand the welfare class, the liars, cheaters and the likes.
Bozo needs to rein in Congress but he won’t and we all know it. We the People are now wide awake and ready to do battle come November!! IMPEACH bozo the clown now!!!! His name whould be Treason!

Wow, talk about “sound bite comments”. In reading recent posts, it
sounds like many are just pasting posts via copies of Rush Limbaug diatribe.
Let get some simple logic here. It is vastly more difficult to restore an economy than to destroy it as happened during the 2000–
2008 period. We and government are forced pick up the broken pieces
and its never fun nor pretty and can even be expenseive. No??
What’s next? To blame the depression which took off in 1929 on
    Roosevelt and not on Hoover???
    Sincerely,
    WEC

I once was talking to a welfare recipient and she said she refused to get a job because she could make more on welfare than she could working. Any able bodied person should not be able to receive welfare except as a stop gap for child care while going to school, as our daughter did. As soon as she got her diploma, she got off the welfare and got a job. She did not feel very good about having to accept it, but she had had a baby and needed the child care. She and the baby’s father did get married a year later.

There are certain cases that need a handout & foot up to get on their feet and become a productive member of society. Congrats to your daughter–yes she needed that hand out at the time but went on to become a productive member of society, she did not languish in welfare rolls as so many do. Like you said of the person you spoke with that she could make more money in welfare than by working. Wonder how many kids she had?? I thought at one time some of the states were going to implement a 2 child per welfare reciepent, after that if they had more then they could not collect any more $$. KC,MO had a Chiefs player that was great, he was killed in an automobile accident, out of the woodwork came all these women (7 I think) all claiming that he had fathered a child of theirs and they wanted $$. Even his own Mother was shocked–she didn’t have a clue–at least that was her story. Anyway this seems to be typical of welfare mothers with some many kids by so many different fathers. That is what should be looked into, as it is welfare fraud!

  • JEM

I agree. Heads have to roll for this travesty. These are high crimes and treason. The world needs to know that the American people will not take BS from anyone. We are the last bastion of hope. “Walk softly but carry a big stick.” Theodore Roosevelt Not that I liked Roosevelt’s progressive ideology but I did like the quote.

Right again. If anyone is interested in taxes for 2010, look in your 1040 booklet you received for 2009 to file your taxes. Close to the middle, on the left had side “What’s new for 2009″ on the right hand side is “What’s new for 2010″ If anyone can claim income that will be made in 2010, better pay taxes on it in 2009 as the Bush tax cuts are still in play in 2009. This is just the beginning, come January 2011 when we again get our 1040 booklets it will be endless. They will have to do away with Schedule A completly.

  • Michael J.

    Tim,
What you said is exactly right but, there’s no way Obama can tax the rich because the wealthy exist in a global economy. If no worth while returns on investments are to be had in this country, they will just take their money and go play somewhere else. Leaving those of us who are stuck here in this local economy to pay the tab.

  • JeffH

BO has similarities to an old song by James and Bobby purify called “I’m your Puppet”.
These words could easily describe one Barack Obama.

“Treat me good and I’ll do anything
I’m just a puppet an you hold my string, I’m your puppet
    Yeah, I’m your puppet”

There are some heavy hitters holding Obama’s strings.

C’mon “Keith Olberman undercover”. We all know that GWB caused the Great Depression, don’t we?

  • George

    Wayne,

I don’t think we can rightfully blame the depression on FDR, but we can, and should, blame him for making it worse than it should have been due to his socialist policies. Interestingly, Hoover was blamed for faults of the Federal Reserve Bank (acting independent of the administration) for not providing equity to the banks quick enough to keep them from becoming insolvent, and to Congress for passing the Smoot-Hawley tariff act of 1930 which started a global trade war. Hoover did oppose this tariff act, but unfortunately yielded to political pressure and signed the bill. For that act, he should be blamed, but he certainly didn’t single handedly create the great depression.

Did I miss the amount of projected savings from cracking down on Medicare/Medicaid fraud and abuse in the 2011 budget? I didn’t hear anyone discussing it, including Barry. Anybody? Anybody?

  • JeffH

Maybe it is just easier to burden the taxpayer with that problem rather than have government “fix and fight” the problem of fraud in government. It’s a lot like the “screws” that retail in a hardware store for 3 cents each but are sold to the government for $10 each.

  • ChuckL

What seems to be missing in the arguments about military spending is covered by only two things.

First, Bill Clinton used what he called a “Peace Dividend” to cut military spending to a point that was well below maintenance of our military equipment and below what should be the minimum percentage of Gross Domestic Product. That should be not less than 6%, which would still leave us well below the international average spending based on GDP of the country. Dollar amounts rather than GPD percentage is a false method of accounting between countries.

Second. There seem to be many who believe that peace throughout the world can be achieved by total acquiescence to the aggressors, who will then leave us alone. What has been proven throughout history though, is that total acquiescence by a country obtains total slavery for that country. If you advocate this then I suggest that you simply volunteer for a lifetime prison sentence. You will obtain food, shelter, medical care, protection, and any other needs for life. All that you have to give up is the right to think for yourself.

  • http://Don'thaveone Sally

Everyone is forgetting one thing “The Dumos are for the working man” and the Repubs are for the rich” Look who obummer bailed out – I didn’t see him bailing out any of the workers. I know on another blog Semi said yes he did he extended “worker’s compensation”. I did set the record straight on that one however, extending unemployment which Bush did right after 9/11, doesn’t cost the government anything as business has to donate once a year (the last quqrter) to the Federal Unemployment Fund but of course that probably has gone by the wayside with IOU’s like SS.

  • Michael J.

    JeffH,
Nah, sounds more like Rachel Mancow to me.

  • RC

This madness must be resisted. Phoenix agrees to place a 2% tax on food. The citizens of Oregon have agreed to a self impose a tax on the rich. NY Gov. David Paterson proposes a tax on sugary drinks. And on and on.

The solution is decreasing the size of government both locally and federally. Stop Obamacare. Stop Cap and Trade. Cut the federal payroll which currently is at its highest ever and probably accounts for most of the jobs created in this deep recession. Instead of Obama pushing for a binding treating to keep CO2 to 1990 levels, the size of government should be pushed back to 1990 levels or better yet even further back.

  • Warrior

Maybe that was the government’s altar ego speaking when cutting out fraud and theft was going to save the health system $50 bil/ or so a year for the next 10 years.

Ahhh yes, lets tax business. That means they will just pass it on to the poor and middle class whom he purports to represent. That is getting old and stale and I cannot believe that people still believe the same lie. My brother-in-law makes that amount each year and he owns and operates a business where he employs 8 people. He gives them medical benefits and pays Union wages. He does not take home that amount, his people and his business take home that amount but his taxes will go up. No he has two choices, pay his people a lower wage, or do not provide medical, or he can lay off a couple of employees. His other choices would be to raise his prices so he makes an adequate living for himself and his family, or he could just pass the increased tax burden on to his customers. He works 12 hours a day 6 days a week and the government thinks he doesn’t deserve what he makes? He takes all the risk of running a business and keeping his property up and the government doesn’t think he should keep his money? I have a problem with that.

OBAMA TO INCREASE TAXES OVER THE NEXT DECADE!

I want ot get these Taxing and untaxing to be imposed correctly. Lets me comment on each one at a time with your noble permission.
    (1) “Upper income households above 250,000 will be tax increased by 3.6%“…. Well that might discourage many mayors of cities trough out America from complaining about their salaries of 210,000 thru 250,000. And also from installing the automatic cameras to ticket traffic mistakes on city’s intersections and a momentary sudden mistake of speeding on the expressways. But a great many millions of people in America do not come anywhere near 250,000 dollars of annual income. That is one that do not worry me. But the property tax should be lowered.

    (2) Oil Companies will lose $35.5 billion in tax breaks over ten years Imagine, super rich companies with tax breaks plus sucking tha life blood out of motorists. The price of gas should be freezed by an act of law so that the criteria of supply and demand does not dominate the pricing any more. The cuts are set to take effect over ten years. So they should not miss those tax breaks. They are so rich that they will never really miss them. It is The USA budget that needs now the money given to this super wealthy companies.

(3)“There will be a limiting of the tax deductions that the super wealthy can claim for charitable donations, mortgage payments and local taxes.” It is hard to tell if the donations were ever really fully done. So many needy people and no one really gets a donation from any wealthy person or company.. This donations just become an scheme fo the wealthy to amass even more millions.

    (4) “Through various programs and credits, the current administration will also cut taxes for some workers and other businesses by approximately $330billion“. That is very much needed to bring American families back from painful and panicking finances.

Ok, I know that the current administration is not ignoring the panic that those high taxes on our homes are causing many Americans to die of heart attacks, and cardio arrest. And that because most of us are not wealthy and worries of running out of money to pay taxes, in a few years, overwhelm us.. So, I agree with the current democratic administration in their effort to help now Americans. The republican administration just betrayed us in this issues, and our economic situation now evidences the betrayal. That is the fact, that is the truth in America today. I hope that the recovery act will bring back the surplus of the Clinton’s Administration some day not too far away. May God Bless America again!

  • Senior Cesar

    Hello Folks:
When a person go to a physician, he/she state the health problem so that the Doc. can get to work toward bringing a cure to their ailing condition. He prescribes medicines, and if the patient starts getting better;, then he recommends to keep on applying the treatment.. But if the person goes to another physician for the same condition because he/she has hope of instant cure, then the person might jeopardize his existence. Stopping the medicine that had started to cure the condition for one that have not proved anything positive toward a betterment but had caused the illness in the first place is plain suicidal behavior.

When ex-president Bill Clinton left office, Mr. George Bush Jr, got an administration that had a surplus, not a deficit., that is common knowledge in America. And that Clinton’s surplus was producing interest that was aiding the prosperity of Americans, and keeping property taxes, corporate taxes and sales taxes some what less burdensome .And finances in government were improving because of the interest produced by the democratic surplus. That was not easy to accomplish because Mr. Clinton got the presidency with a deficit from Mr. George Bush Senior, and that deficit producing have been a tradition of the Republicans since the beginning of America, The elephants are very inconsiderate and do harm to the economy and denying it is “bogus“. But nonetheless, Mr Clinton managed to bring balance and prosperity to many Americans. God bless his heart! Also, Getting rid of Ex-President Al Gore who could had followed in the steps of Mr. Clinton was one of the worse Blunders of the election system in America..

The medicine that brought a surplus to America is the one that can cure the present disastrous ailing of the American government and the American people. (((And notice that Irak’s government is not helping America with low priced petroleum. That was an illusory expectation of the Republicans that Iraq claims not to be able to realize for America. Irak’s government will never have a medicine to help cure the finances of the American government. Iraq’s government will always be a burden to America and will always give America an extremely difficult if not impossible task to deal with at the expense of the American tax payer instead of low priced petroleum. No Arab king is willing to supply low priced petroleum to America. How you like that tax payer?))) And again, the democrats with the healing treatment of the Clinton;s years had done right to America The democrats with the healing treatment of the now Obama’s and Biden administration approved by today’s caring congress stand a fair chance toward prosperity for all Americans. But nonetheless, instant cure is not given to America after the deadly poison that the swines and snakes of congress approved for the Republican administration of our friend George Bush. With a friend like that who needs enemies, but I blame congress not George Bush Jr. He was not as lucky as Ex-president Reagan. Today, the physicians Obama and Biden are applying the best treatment available for the prosperity of the tax payers of America, and America itself. It is going to be necessary to re-elect Mr. Obama or elect Mr. Biden for the continuation of the application of the financial care that brought America a surplus during Mr. Clinton’s years. Otherwise, the pachyderm with its illusions
and counter productive actions will destroy America’s high finances for us to rebuild with the burden of our taxes instead of the interest of our government surplus.
