Obama Teams Up With Big Business To Destroy Middle Class

January 10, 2013 by

Hello, I’m Wayne Allyn Root for Personal Liberty. Let’s get to the story of Obama, the ultimate crony socialist teaming up with big business to wipe out small business and the middle class.

I’ve said it before; I’ll prove it again. President Barack Obama is a unique breed of socialist. He is a hybrid socialist/fascist. He understands that he needs “cover” to destroy America. He needs the support of famous billionaires like Warren Buffett and credible fat cat corporate CEOs like Jeffrey Immelt of GE to convince the masses that he is not out to destroy capitalism. He needs to show that rich people are on his side, that these rich guys agree with him that tax increases on the rich are “fair.”

And the rich fat cats of big business will be glad to help him, as long as they share in the spoils. They’ll be glad to pay an extra $100,000 a year in taxes as long as long as Obama spreads the wealth around – to them. As long as he hands them billion-dollar tax credits, stimulus, bailouts, government contracts, corporate welfare and loopholes big enough to drive an 18-wheeler through.

That’s exactly what’s happening in America today. The super rich and the big corporations have teamed up with Obama and his socialist cabal to wipe out the middle class, upper middle class and small business. They’re doing it with taxes, rules, regulations and mandates. Obama claims they’re aimed at the rich, but in reality they are aimed squarely at the middle class, upper middle class and small business.

Big business loves taxes, rules and regulations because they have the lobbyists and armies of lawyers and accountants to either avoid it, shelter it or deal with it all. But small business doesn’t. So the competition of big business gets put out of business.

Obama, on the other hand, has many reasons for targeting small business. First, he knows that’s where the money is. That’s where he will get the bulk of his massive tax increases. There aren’t enough billionaires or $100 million men to pay for all of Obama’s plans. He needs trillions of dollars to create his cradle-to-grave welfare state.

That’s where small business comes in. There are several million taxpayers in America who make $250,000 to $500,000 per year. Almost every one of them owns a business. I’m one of them. We are the target. These are the independent thinkers. These are the self-made capitalist evangelists. These are the stubborn, principled fiscal conservatives who despise Obama and his plans for equality, social justice and income redistribution. Small business makes up the heart of the resistance.

Secondly, small-business owners fund Obama’s political opposition. We make most of the contributions that fund conservative candidates and causes. Small business will never sell out conservative fiscal principles. Never. So Obama is at war with small business. He can’t win without confiscating our money and getting us under his thumb.

Besides, what does Obama care about a $250,000-per-year small-restaurant owner? That person is insignificant to him. But the CEO of a billion-dollar conglomerate is very significant to Obama. That company can write $100,000 or $1 million checks to Obama’s campaign or his inauguration or the Democratic National Committee or an Obama-supporting PAC. And that Fortune 500 company has teams of lawyers and lobbyists, all willing to write big fat checks.

The ground has shifted in America. There used to be a team fighting for conservative fiscal principles. Wal-Mart, Wall Street, big banks and most of corporate America partnered with small business to support capitalism, conservative candidates and causes. Today, there’s been a sea change. A divorce. A “War of the Roses.” Big business and corporate America have sold out to Obama. They couldn’t care less about small business, or capitalism or conservative fiscal values. They aren’t capitalists anymore; they are crony capitalists.

And they are in bed with Obama, the world’s biggest crony socialist.

It started with the bailouts and stimulus. Big business begged, lobbied and received billions of dollars. Small business got the shaft. All we got only the bill. It’s our kids and grandkids who will still be paying the interest on bailouts and wasted stimulus generations from now. Wall Street cheered as the stock market soared. But for small business down on Main Street, it’s been a Great Depression for four years under Obama. Small business is dying.

The irony is that small business creates most of the jobs. Since the first day of the Ronald Reagan Presidency, about 40 million jobs have been created in America. The entire net of 40 million jobs was created by small business.

But small business owners don’t have lobbyists or connected Washington, D.C. law firms. We can’t afford to each give millions of dollars to politicians, so we get shafted. Look around the room. If you can’t tell who the sucker is, it’s you. Small business is the odd man out. We are the sucker. We are the target of Obama and his socialist cabal and now his newest partners in crime: big business.

Then came Fed policies. Obama orders the Fed to print trillions of fake dollars to keep the economy afloat. Where does it all go? To big business. To banks. To Wall Street. To publicly traded multinational companies. None of it has ever reached Main Street.

Then came Obamacare. I never in a million years imagined big business would support Obama’s big government, nanny state healthcare scheme. Back in the 1980s, big business teamed with small business to stop Bill and Hillary Clinton’s attempt to socialize medicine and put government in charge of the entire healthcare system. Not this time.

This time, big business took Obama’s side. Health insurance and Big Pharma were bribed with billions of dollars in new revenues sent their way. The rest of big business went along with Obama because he promised them lower corporate taxes.

Then came the coup de grace: the so-called “fiscal cliff” crisis. Small-business owners pay their taxes as individuals. They own Subchapter S and LLC corporations that pass all income down to the individual small-business owner. The lawyers and lobbyists of big business saw an opening. The goal was simple: Ask small-business owners who file individual taxes (mom-and-pop stores that create all the new jobs) to pay dramatically higher taxes and lose valuable deductions (like charitable and mortgage deductions), so that big corporations (many of which move jobs offshore and keep billions of dollars of profits parked offshore too) could dramatically reduce their taxes.

The Wall Street Journal reported on groups like the Business Roundtable (made up of 150 corporate titans) and the RATE Coalition (AT&T, Ford, Lockheed Martin, Home Depot) publicly endorsing and blessing big tax hikes on mom-and-pop America.

The $625 billion tax increase passed. Big business didn’t get their corporate tax cut… yet. But boy did they get goodies: $40 billion in crony capitalism payoffs. The new tax bill gives away $78 million in tax breaks to benefit NASCAR, $62 million in tax credits for companies operating in American Samoa, $222 million of tax rebates to rum companies, $430 million in tax rebates for Hollywood film producers, $12 billion (with a “B”) in tax credits for wind power phonies like GE, $2.2 billion to renewable diesel companies, $650 million to manufacturers of energy-efficient appliances and $222 million in accelerated tax depreciation for businesses located on Indian reservations. Many of these companies will pay no taxes at all because of these rebates and credits.

Mom-and-pop small businesses just had their income redistributed to Big Business. Billion-dollar companies ripped off small businesses on Main Street under the guise of a “fiscal cliff.” If we were on a cliff, how could we afford to give $430 million to Hollywood film producers? This was the greatest swindle since Bernie Madoff.

I predict this was only the start of Obama’s payoff to corporate America. I guarantee you that Obama told the corporate lobbyists that he’ll give them $40 billion in tax credit gifts now. So be patient and wait for 2013, when we will implement serious “tax reform.” That’s code words for fleecing small business and middle America again. This means even higher taxes and more loss of deductions for individuals, in return for “tax reform” that dramatically cuts corporate tax rates. Anyone want to bet?

It’s all part of the Andrew Cloward and Frances Fox Piven plan. Build an alliance with big business to fund your plan to overwhelm the system and socialize America.

Obama’s big government, socialist agenda isn’t aimed at the super rich. That’s just a head fake to cover the truth. That’s just the propaganda he uses to sell his con game to the masses. Obama’s destructive agenda is aimed squarely at you: entrepreneurs, small-business owners and the middle class.

Obama’s goal is to create two classes of Americans: the super rich (who support and contribute to Obama, who then rewards them with bribes, stimulus, bailouts and government contracts) and the poor (who loyally vote for Obama to receive the handouts they need to survive). In Obama’s view of America, the middle class and small business must be destroyed, and the poor must be kept in their place (that place is hopeless, helpless and dependent on him).

The cat is out of the bag. The crony capitalists are in bed with the greatest fraud of all time: Obama, the crony socialist.

It’s now every man for himself.

That’s my commentary for today. Bad things are happening in America under Obama. If you are middle class, upper middle class or a business owner, your livelihood and quality of life are in danger. Your children’s future is in danger. The American Dream is on life support.

I’ll see you next week. Same time, same place. Right here at PersonalLiberty.com. God Bless.

For a very long time, U.S. Administrations have given favors/loopholes to big business and the wealthy. I would say that is never more true than during the Bush 2 years when we were thrown into two wars (one a complete waste of American lives and money) Without raising taxes to pay for them. In fact, he lowered the tax rates accellerating the redistribution of most of our country’s wealth to 1-2% of our population. Ever since President Obama started his first term he has tried to reverse that trend to stop the squeeze on the middle class. Further more, I can think of VERY FEW modern Presidents of the U.S. who were not cozy with big corporations. That does NOT necessarily mean that they dislike or want to destroy small business. What a leap you are taking Mr. Root.
Is it not the new tax rule that ONLY income OVER $400,000 is taxed at a higher rate? For most middle class stiffs that is more than reasonalbe and that is largely why President Obama was elected to another term leading our country.

Didn’t the bailouts begin under the Bush administration? Goldman-Sacks had Bush in their back pocket since H. Paulson was Bush’s Fed. Chairman, they directed the reaction to the crisis in 2008. If big business was sooo in love with President Obama I am sure that AIG, who was saved by TARP, would NOT contemplate sueing the government for not giving them enough money at the same time they have a TV add campaign promoting “they’re back”
    .
The Fiscal Cliff scenario was all set up by Congress NOT the President. Mr. Root seems to want to blame Obama for my glass of milk spilling over this morning. He does illustrate well how big corporations do under our political system, something that has been in place for most of our history. This is far from news and not at all originating with President Obama. The rates, loopholes, contributions, and money movements shift around in every administration but it has always worked out very well for big business.
That, in this time of economic hardship for many, President Obama recognizes the need to give aid to the poor is obvious leadership. Helping out the poor is NOT socialism, it is humanitarianism; just ask Jesus.

NOBODY is taking your guns. There are limits in place on the public’s firearms possession, always has been. What is needed and occurring is a reexamination of where the line should be on those limits. I repeat; NOBODY IS EVEN CONTEMPLATING KEEPING GUNS FROM THE AMERICAN PUBLIC!

Since you are calling me out… Ah, the old Hitler reference again. Hitler wanted to remove guns from the populations in territories he conquered, not in Germany.

“And the truth is that no gun law was passed in Germany in 1935. There was no need for one, since a gun registration program was already in effect in Germany; it was enacted in 1928, five years before Hitler’s ascendancy. But that law did not “outlaw” guns, it just restricted their possession to individuals who were considered law-abiding citizens, and who had a reason to own one. And there’s no reason to consider that law particularly significant, either; the NAZIs didn’t seize control of their own country with gunpowder. They used a much more potent weapon: propaganda.” Much like the NRA does.

And what is a “well regulated militia’?

      • Right Brain Thinker

Karolyn asks, “And what is a “well regulated militia’?”

Good question, Karolyn, and many PLD visitors would say “The 2nd. amendment must be looked at in its totality and the whole thing means anyone can own any number and any type of guns he chooses, and nobody has a right to question that under any circumstances, period”.

And they will get up on a high horse and carry on if someone like you asks about just those three little words, since they really seem to be the basis for the whole amendment and key to its meaning. My opinion is that the drafters were thinking of “Minutemen and Muskets”, and the need to protect against threats to the nation without a massive standing army. We fought the war of 1812 and the Indian Wars and the Mexican War and the Civil War (at first) with a high proportion of “militia” under arms, and I believe the “well regulated” meant that they would be organized and controlled at the state level and would not be expected to be walking around waving guns unless “called up”. I don’t think the intent was to provide for the “armies of one” that we see popping up with no control or organization, i.e., “regulation”. My two cents.

(and do remember that discussion on another thread about how the interpretation and application of the 2nd. changed after the Civil war)

      • sam1966

The well regulated militia in each state refers to men between the ages of 18 – 60, in good physical and mental condition, able to fight, and own a firearm. This means that if the U.S. is attacked from someone, the Americans that live in that state are to take their firearms, leave home, and help the army fight them. They are to be the augmentation force for the army. This is just so easy to understand. If you have any ,more questions Karolyn, just ask. I don’t mind answering them. Here is something dealing with this subject:

What part of “shall not be infringed” do you people not seem to comprehend?? ANY gun law is an infringement.’

I say; It’s language Henry ~ it bends and shapes.

There are no absolutes. ~ There is ammo issues, production, shipping. importing, sales . At any point language can intervene. ~ We can legislate a 45 APC to have the knockdown power of a squirt gun and still honor the 2nd amendment

We could say with 99% certainty that the 2nd amendment will stand as written but it comes under attack daily from somewhere as do many other laws. it’s not hard to find someone attempting to introduce a bill. ~ To get a bill tabled and passed is completely different ball game.

So the best thing to do is be mindful of language and it’s intent.

It’s the public out cry for action will be the driving force that will frame the language. It’s elected official job to react to public outcry as well as defend our lawful rights.

State Representative Dan Muhlbauer (D- Manilla) said he believes that the government should simply begin confiscating semi-automatic rifles

Andrew Cuomo said in an address to lawmakers in his State Wednesday, “Guns have both a noble and tragic tradition in America and in New York State.”
That’s why he wants to implement some of the (so far) most draconian gun laws in the Nation. His plan includes:
Confiscation of firearms by police if a psychiatrist determines you have mental problems.
Banning all assault weapons “with military features.”
        Limiting magazines to seven rounds.
Confiscation of pre-1994 assault weapon ban banned weapons.

Doc, you so correct about Mr. Root taking leaps. That is what he does here and he doesn’t even have to land on his feet! Come to think of it he has no feet since his “legs’ were chopped off above the knees by his 2012 elections predictions.
Small businesses are our biggest employers> I wonder what was going through their minds during 2007 and 2008 as millions and millions were having to be laid off and Obama was not even the leading candidate at the time??

Over the years Democrats and businesses, big and small, have enjoyed a great relationship as evidenced by the numbers in the study at “Bulls, Bears, Donkeys and Elephants”. WALL STREET LOVES THE DEMOCRATS was a saying long before Obama became President! The numbers were always there to support that relationship it was just the “paid for’ Republican pundits who tried to paint a different picture! Then along came bush and they ran completely out of paint trying to put lipstick on that pig!

Don’t you know, Doc? The bush years were just a false flag created by the Democrats to make Republicans look bad! Damned good job don’t you think!?

””’Small businesses are our biggest employers”” Yes but the ‘are’ is now the ‘past’ with thousands upon thousands small businesses closing and going out of business. Just walk the streets and see how many closed up. FOR LEASE GOING OUT OF BUSINESS SALE or just SHUT THE DOORS that’s it.

So what about small businesses you write about?

      • Deerinwater

nc, Mr Roots just throwing stuff out there hoping maybe something will stick. Obama is guilty of something beside just winning an election. His is attempting to lay blame for everything that in wrong on the Hill in Obam’s lap.

The entrenched power on the Hill uses people like Mr. Root to stay in business. What ever Administration that is in power has to contend with the same political climate which is artificially created by some 1200 lobby groups and all the free money they dispense on the Hill.

Compared to big business lobby groups, America’s middle class is poorly represented as both public and trade unions have been under constant attack since Ronnie Reagan scored a victory and defeated organized labor back in the mid 80′s. ~ With less clout and smaller voice the American Middle working class has suffered ever since. Any attempt to lay the economic tail spin of the American Middle class at the current administrations door is laughable as it fights these very forces that are determined to make America a two class nation, a nation comprised of have and the have not’s.

There is much good news to tell from all of this however, the American middle class is fighting back. They know today, from where the attack are coming from. It’s taken us years to understand all the forces being brought to bear against us, forces determined to silence our voice and sequester our spirit . We can not afford to set on our thumbs allows “others” to determine what is “fair” without the privileged of our voice. Middle Class American has awaken, they no longer sleep.

In the run up to 1998 general elections many campaign promised were made on both sides in an effort to appeal to votes. Both the McCain/ Palin and Obama /Biden made many. In regards to Lobbing interest, both presidential candidates voice a desire and strong interest on curbing special interest money and influence that floods the hill. The Maverick and Ms. Sassy were planning to clean house! She had taken on Big Oil before and they had allowed her the illusion of victory. It was hard not to admire her spunk while the truth only half told.

Obama’s stumping was a little more demure while promising serious address to lobbist activities and access to the white house.

” During the campaign, Obama said many times that lobbyists would not run his White House, and the campaign delighted in tweaking rival John McCain for the former lobbyists who worked on McCain’s campaign.”

“Obama’s ethics proposals specifically spelled out that former lobbyists would not be allowed to “work on regulations or contracts directly and substantially related to their prior employer for two years.” On his first full day in office, Obama signed an executive order to that effect. ”

“After examining the administration’s actions for the past two months, we have concluded that Obama has broken this promise. See Promise No. 240 for the full details.”

Okay, so now the Lobbyist no long enjoy designated parking and their own coffee pot in the white house kitchen.

Now if there is anyone out there that believes, McCain and Palin has more determination and more power to throw the money changers out of the Temple , I got a land investment I’d like to discuss with you and I wish you’d look me up.

The word “Entrenched” is an excellent word. ~ As to remove the cancer will greatly damage the host. ~ That is how entrenched special interest has became today.

So for now, ~ we are left to fight fire with fire and any “fix” with be long in the making.

If it’s a dollar for dollar investment ~ I think maybe I should have went into politics, ~ my plumber’s experience in removing backed up fowl waste might be helpful.

Corporate america has taught us one lesson, no one should actually be in business
as an individual…….in fact individuals should strive to “own” nothing……..given the rules,
we should be corporations…….individuals as the sole asset of the corporation, which makes everything required by that individual an expense…everything that would be
required for maximum performance of the “sole asset” would be an expense to the
corporation……and that would be required “by LAW” because the corporation must
direct their energies to securing a “profit” for their share holders……..

The rest I’ll leave to your imagination……………

Doc, you are correct. Mr Obama is Mr. Bush 2.0.

For example, Obama stopped the Keystone pipeline. Later, Warren Buffet suggests higher taxes are not a bad thing. Hmmn. Berkshire has majority ownership of BNSF. BNSF has recently been making lots of money shipping oil from the Bakken oil fields because there is no pipeline in that area to handle the volume of oil. That happens to be very close to where the Keystone pipeline would have run. The way I connect the dots, it looks like Chicago politics or crony capitalism.

You could possibly paint similar pictures with Solyndra, Tonopah Solar, Hollywood Inc, and other ventures.

Democrats and Republicans alike are one party, pretending to be two parties. If you keep voting Republican or Democrat you will get a repeat of the same government we have had for at least 50 yeas. It is time to vote for alternative parties.

      • Doc Sarvis

President Obama DELAYED the Keystone Pipeline project.

      • nc

Reid, how much faster do we need to get Canadian oil to the gulf coast so it can be shipped over seas? The most expensive things in the world for the number of permanent jobs they create are oil refineries with their pipe lines.

      • DaveH

Do you have any evidence at all to back up your conjecture, NC?

      • Joz

”’Democrats and Republicans alike are one party, pretending to be two parties”’

and that is the most ‘blatant truth’ ever. Why loyal demoract party members don’t get it? but and the loyal republican party members are avoiding this issue?

      • deerinwater

Well, you can say cats and dogs are alike as well and be accurate enough that only a dog or cat lover would protest.

It’s about money and why get to oversee and use it, ~ Your guys or my guys ~ I prefer my guys.

Until the “Pots is Right” the Keystone pipeline will be stalled.

      • ernest

way to go Ried, all the people on this site talk about is democrats or republicans they don’t even think about why the 1% wanted the free-trade ( a republican made it up & a democrat sighed it ) after the first one they started moving to china, mexico it took a few years but if you look around we don’t manufacture anything in america anymore.

    • Warrior

Doc, were you aware that hank paulson is setting up shop at that liberal bastion, U of C? Believe me bucko, they have NO use for conservatives at that establishment!

      • Doc Sarvis

He could buy his way into wherever he wanted to go.

      • nc

Warrior, where in the Constitution does it say Americans in general or U of C in particular must roll over and accept Conservative concepts?

      • Steadysteve

True the Constitution says nothing regarding idealogical hiring by an educational institution. But to be a credible place of higher learning, a wide range of veiws must be presented. Otherwise it’s just a propaganda mill.

      • sam1966

Really no cajones? Then how about the government forcing private institutions to pay for BCP coverage, though it is against their religious beliefs? Hobby Lobby, catholic businesses, and Pap Johns Pizza come to mind. There is now a House bill 2330 and Senate bill 6185 that deal with having people pay into Obama bin Laden Care to cover a woman’s abortion. Though this would violate the Hyde Amendment and peoples religious and personal beliefs, but they say it is OK under the Constitution. Why do they and you lie about these things, hmmm? Here is the source telling about this matter:

What seems to have happened is that the term “Liberal Education” has taken on a whole new and sinister meaning. No matter, the Russians, the Chinese, the Vietnamese, Cambodians, North Koreans, Cubans, the old Eastern Bloc nations and every other committed socialistic set of national leaders all tried different versions of the same thing: try to change the way most humans, at least normal humanity must be in order to prosper and live happy and healthy : free. Self-determinative, personally responsible, family/community oriented, exist in a stable/tradition honoring system with its own honorable, compassionate (savage when accosted) authority system.
You can threaten ‘em, shoot ‘em, bomb ‘em, hang ‘em, starve ‘em, burn ‘em, imprison, torture, “re-educate”(chemical, godless religion or psychiatrist), subjugate and decerebrate ‘em. Doesn’t seem to change what works to produce a prosperous and happy community. There appears to be a template or a mold into which successful communities nestle themselves. Unless there is a heavy handed, top loaded bunch of control freaks running it people will return to, or fairly close to, the template. It allows necessary changes in the system when nature, environment, plagues, warfare and etc require changes to accommodate conditions.
Heavy handed, top down, control systems like Obama is aiming for (or will be progressively forced to adopt) never really work. Never have. Never will. They topple like the tower in Pisa.

    • Mary K

If Obama wants to help the poor so bad why is he giving the money from the backs of the hardworking taxpayers that themselves are struggling to feed themselves and not giving his personal money to help others? His vacations alone could feed many and yet he didn’t contribute anything to feed and clothe the poor. Food stamp money is legally spent on cigarettes in many places. Others that work are struggling to buy food for their families. Where’s Obama’s justice?

      • Old Henry

Yes Mary, the Kenyan’s brother still lives in a dirt-floor hut on, what was it, $200 a year? Why should he help his brother? That’s what he is trying to do over here.

        • Mary K

Please clarify yourself. Which Kenyan is living on $200 a year? And who’s the brother you made the question “Why should he help him? And it’s confusing about the part where you said ” That’s what he’s doing here.” Did you mean he (the Kenyan here) is sending his personal money to help his brother? Where did you get your insider information from regarding this?

    • tarbella

Doc, you need to wake up and see what’s really going on here. For some reason you seem blinded by the reality of what Obama and his cronies are really trying to do…take control of the people and everything in connection to America. I’ve done a lot of reasearch on Obama and others, finding out much. I’m now going into 5 years of every day research…you need to do the same. Open your eyes and if you have to, just pretend I may be right and then prove I’m wrong. Do your research starting with 2008 and go from there.

      • MLR

        Tarbella,
You like research, try going back to the early 1970′s when this whole mess this country is in first started. Obama is only the latest to keep up the great work started by big business and both parties, more so the Republicans. It was that great conservative supreme court, that gave even more power to the money machine with that “citizens united” crap that lets big business give unlimeted funds to get their way

    • DaveH

Doc says — “Helping out the poor is NOT socialism, it is humanitarianism; just ask Jesus”.

Jesus didn’t forcibly take other peoples’ money, Doc.
Helping out the poor with your own money is “humanitarianism”, Doc. Helping them out with other peoples’ money is Theft. Every common thief has an excuse for his/her actions.

      • Mike in MI

        DaveH –
Remind Doc for me that the first chapter of Proverbs in the Bible – I think he knows where his ideas about helping the poor with what they NEED (NOT THEIR ENTIRE LIFE-STYLE) came from – indicates that one should avoid becoming part of a system that defrauds people, takes the spoils, puts it in a bag, draws from it to redistribute the funds for what the leader wants to give it for. It indicates that is very unwise. Doing what God deems unwise He will not participate with protecting us and if we do call He won’t pay any attention to our pleas.
It also tells us not to collaborate with or condone those who despise Him if we want His help in things of life. Not because He doesn’t want o help. But the people who want to run everything on earth always make it difficult to operate the principles to which He can respond.
Talking to Sarvis is so dead-ended.
        Thanks.

Ahhh Doc…. you write so well. Exactly what I was thinking. I find it humorous that Obama seems to be the first President with any flaws. Everything you mentioned has been going on for some time. It seems to some that there was no corruption in washington until Obama came into office. As if he is the first politician to do any of the above mentioned things by Mr. Root.

      • bfree

since when has destroying the economy, destroying our defense and in general destroying our( by that I mean the few of us that still support it) country been defined as a flaw? If you and the rest of you progressives dont pull your heads out soon there wont be an America left worth saving.
you guys furnish the rope thats going hang us all, Everything this man does is political for government or for the democratic party, not for the working man.If guys like you dont wake up this country will consist of only the poor and government. Thats when everyone will really find out who the elite rich really are.

No one is perfect except God and Jesus mamamia. When Hitler formed the NAZI Party, he had a group called the Brown Shirts, a prelude to the SS. They would take orders from Hitler, or one of his cronies, and fullful their orders with very brutal results. Look at this article. Here and ATF agent holds a gun against the head of a little girl and Obama bin Laden supports his actions. Can we say that his SS or Gestopo are already on the scene in America? You obviously are ignorant of the facts. Obama’s minions went to Harry Reid with the sequestration idea. Has your head been in the sand all of your life. In regards to Bush’s tax cuts which really didn’t start until 2004. Are you aware of the increase in revenues? Are you aware of what the deficits were until the Democrats took control of Congress and the Senate in 2007. Are you aware that Bush inherited a recession caused by Clinton that started in May of 2000 and was exaccerbated by the World Trade Center attack on September 11th in 2001. How do you think the Revolutionary. Civil, World I and II,
Vietnam Wars were financed? What were the deficits created as a percentage of GDP during those wars compared to the first decade of this century? I guess you do not think we are at war with the Islamists. You can debate whether or not the military action taken was a wise idea, but I don’t believe the article was about that subject.

    • Steadysteve

Helping out the poor with money stolen, under threat of unjust force, from someone else is NOT humanitarianism. No, the crony system did not start with Obama. It did however ramp up enourmously.

    • Ranchman

Oh, that’s’ right; it’s Bush’s fault that Obama’s a Marxist. How could I have been so blind? Thanks, “Doc” for squaring me away. What are you a doctor of, anyway? Social diseases like Marxism? If you’re unable to see the truth of this article, they need to take your license away.

    • http://www.facebook.com/benjamin.fox.98892 Benjamin Fox

Dr, Dr. how is that cool aid? When all the jobs and the rich move oversea’s and everyone is in soup lines maybe you’ll remember those on the finance committee made laws under the left wing congress that made bank make loans to those who couldn’t pay them back while Bush was fighting that, opps, makes your blame Bush nothing more then BS friend. Yes go after Big Business and the rich who pay the most tax even with their brakes and when they are gone, who you going to rob next. Don’t get ahead in life just depend on government to steal more and more until there is no one to rob anymore and maybe the marxist left will wake up when they are hungry. I don’t think so, I think they will take up guns and go after anyone who has anything left, that is the left way.

      • MLR

        Ben Fox,
It’s not the rich leaving this country, it’s the rich sending the jobs overseas, is what the problem is.

Blah, Blah, Blah, it is all Bush’s fault. How provacative

  • Faye Shamblin

Any Business or Person that teams with Obama needs to be investigated and moved out of America Obama is destroying America and I want to see him suffer for his actions NOW He needs to be sent to prison and sentence to death he has killed 4 Americans and now I find this was his plot to make him look big he is the lowest down piece of trash and needs action NOW to remove this bastard from office

    • nc

Faye, if you think Obama should be put to death for the death of 4 Americans overseas, will you sign my petition to dig Reagan up and burn him for the death of 250+ Americans overseas while he was President? Fair in this case is more than fair!!

      • Right Brain Thinker

Uh, check your figures on that petition, nc, because they’re more than a bit LOW. There were 241 Marines killed in the Beirut barracks bombing in 1983 alone. That was the largest single day loss for the USMC ever, except for some days during the battle for Iwo Jima in 1945. They also killed 58 french paratroopers the same day and killed another 19 Americans and 50+ others in the Beirut embassy bombings.

And Reagan turned tail and RAN. His failure to properly respond to those attacks in Lebanon led Osama bin Laden to declare that the U.S. was a “paper tiger” and that the terrorists should not fear us. Saint Ronald was “sent down” and is already burning in hell for all of that, since it has led to the deaths of many tens of thousands of civilians and our military—Reagan started it and it adds up to WAY more than 250.. As I said, no need to dig him up and burn him again, he has been burning since the day he died.

And be gentle with Faye—-she obviously has no sense of perspective, as do many others who frequent PLD, but she is probably kind and loving to her pets.

      • DaveH

So you’re against military action overseas, RBT?

      • Capiralist at Birth

To nc and Right Brain, You are both ideologues. Why are you visiting this site? To use your inane logic on those who know you are plants. Waste of you time I no longer will waste my time reading your posts, and I ask the rest of you to ignore them as well.

      • Right Brain Thinker

DaveH, in his haste to nip at my heels like some deranged puppy, again proves that he does NOT even read comments (or certainly doesn’t understand them if he does).

He asks, “So you’re against military action overseas, RBT?”

Actually Dave, if you had read and/or comprehended what I said, you would realize that I am STILL quite angry over what Reagan failed to do in 1983, nearly 30 years ago, as are many other Marines and good Americans who remember his failure. I am angry because his only response to all the terror bombings was to have a few planes drop bombs and have the battleship New Jersey send a few 16 inch rounds into the mountains behind Beirut before he abruptly pulled us out, with the long range consequences I have outlined. I think we should have STAYED there and let the USMC take the kind of “military action overseas” that is our trademark, and in spades. The world might be a different place and 9/11 might not have happened if Reagan hadn’t shown the world through his inaction that we were a paper tiger.

Capiralist (sp?) at Birth says something imbecilic as well, just to make DaveH feel like he has a friend in the stupid people club. Fine, CAB, don’t read our stuff. You are not smart enough to understand what nc and I are saying most of the time anyway, and I’m sure nc will agree with me when I say we wouldn’t want you to hurt yourself by making you think too hard. As in maybe you would finally understand some of the truth we speak, and smack yourself too hard in the forehead when you did that, as you said to yourself,
        “I finally understand”?

YOU are an ideologue, CAB, because you just spout narrow ideological nonsense like a parrot. nc and I espouse certain ideological principles, and are flexible in applying them, unlike you. There’s a difference. Get someone to explain that to you (not DaveH).

I would ask YOU why are YOU visiting this site?—you don’t have anything important to say and have spent more energy insulting people than on anything else. You ask the rest of PLD to ignore us? Lord love a duck, CAB? You really are an imbecile.

And in the gubmints insatiable quest for more loot, the latest gimmick by the “progressives” is the “private/public” partnership deal. Corporatists for sure. Everything is up for “lease”. and guess who will pay more for parking, driving, flying, living, dying, YOU.

    • nc

Warrior, when has anything decreased in cost since the Hoover Depression came to an end? Where in the world is ” parking, driving, flying , living” a better bargain than in this country. Every one has to die. Do you really expect to get it at 1813 or 1913 prices with a 3013 military to pay for and the wars we “must have” to justify it?? Did bush say something to the effect that to be a “great President” you had to be “a war time President?” Why else he would he have attacked Iraq? He admitted that they were not a threat? Did he want to wear that pilot’s suit his daddy gave him for Christmas. I have never seen a President look so silly!

      • DaveH

So now it’s the “Hoover” Depression, NC, even though it lasted for 10 more years under FDR?
Hoover, by the way, was a major marketplace interventionist who grew Government dramatically in his four years as President, only to be outshone by FDR’s even greater Government intervention.
But NC is stuck in the Democrat paradigm and can’t get his blinders off to see that both parties and their Progressive Leadership are responsible for our economic stagnation.
Those who would like to know more than NC (I know, that isn’t very hard) can read this:
        http://library.mises.org/books/Murray%20N%20Rothbard/Americas%20Great%20Depression.pdf

      • Capiralist at Birth

Dave H. Actually, Hoover was a Democrat before he became a Republican. Just like John McCain. Yes he was an interventionist, in the mold of Lincoln and Roosevelt before him. Not true Republicans in my mind. Only two true Republicans come to mind. Thomas Jefferson and Calvin Coolidge. Reagan is only close for consideration. Nixon, Ford, G.H.W., G. W. and maybe Eisenhower were also interventionist Democrat lite Republicans.

      • Flashy

CB…got any sources for Hoover ever being a Democrat? just curious..not being combative. He was a Cabinet Secretary under Coolidge, and to my knowledge never held an elected office until the presidency. Which he was unfortunate enough to be in place when Coolidge’s policies went south. Unlike President Obama, hoover had neither the knowledge nor the backbone to right the ship and we dove headlong into the Depression.

      • DaveH

It doesn’t matter if he was a Republican or a Democrat. What matters is his failed failed Big Government intervention in the economy. Government can not help but be a failure because the people have let it assume the Power of Force, therefore it has little to lose for its mistakes and little to gain for making the tough choices. And everything to gain by supporting the non-competitive actions of its Crony Capitalists (campaign funds, outright bribes). So the outcome of Big Government is always going to be mediocre at best for the vast majority of people.

  • John R. Howell

hedy, I think you have one of the most intelligent points on here. I have read and heard of numerous people from communist or socialist countries that reinforce your exact sentiments. I cant imagine why these boneheads cant see what obama is doing and where it will take us. Normally, if I am looking for directions, I like to ask someone who has been there. But I suppose if you are progressive you probablyalready know it all. How does that saying go,something like,” there is noone so blind as he who will not see”.. Any way, I think even they can get the point.(maybe)

This article is a self protective claim that just isn’t true. I am an attorney and self made entrepreneur. And if there were so many of us in America that opposed President Obama’s tax increases on small businesses then he wouldn’t have won a second term. However, everyone knows (common sense) that the more wealth distribution there is, the more balanced the economy and products and services sold. Therefore, don’t get the message twisted if President Obama were the scallywag you claim then Elizabeth Warren and other intellectuals would have never supported the Democratic ticket and would have run on the Independent ballot. Please don’t insult our intelligence we discern that President Obama is on the side of those who make this country great and strong through democratic and moderate means.

    • Doc Sarvis

      Well said.

    • Warrior

Well of course you agree with re-distribution, that’s the only way for lawyers to make moola!

      • Doc Sarvis

Redistribution of wealth to the top 1% has been going on for quite some time and has been accellerated since Bush took office. Seems like the working masses could use some of that money since they do the bulk of the work in this country.

    • Steve E

You agree with redistribution? And I though lawyers were smarter than that.

      • deerinwater

So are you and advocate of stagnation or stagflation? ~ nothing moving, nothing changing? If we could take the ability to transfer out of wealth, tell me what purpose then might wealth have? As I see it, wealths value would greatly suffer.

      • Steve E

No deer, I don;t believe in stealing for one person to give to another no matter what the results are. Wrong is wrong.

        • Deerinwater

Steve. no one has said anything above unlawful taking possession of property.

To distribute or redistributed does not imply thief or stealing.

As a small business man, I am constantly distributing and redistributing Gross profits in an unending effort to keep my Choo Choo on the train trail and everyone cooperating with me and my wishes.

If I spent 15 days failing to redistribute wealth my Choo choo would roll to a stop and then everyone would have to walk.

I will confess, to take the money and run might be tempting , ~ but that is what would constitute thief as I would be refusing to accept the fact that I owe someone and just because wealth is in my possessing and control does not make it truly mine.

    • DaveH

An attorney, a direct benefactor of Big Government, expects Freedom-Loving people to take his word for Obama’s benevolence? Please.
Thomas says — “However, everyone knows (common sense) that the more wealth distribution there is, the more balanced the economy and products and services sold”.
No Thomas, everyone doesn’t know that. That’s what you’d like everyone to believe. But if it were true, then there would be no North Korean or Cuban or Zimbabwean poverty.

    • Guest

Yeah….right! Time will tell whose side Obama was really on. And I’m afraid it won’t be what you all expected.

  • Right Brain Thinker

Wayne never ceases to amaze me. Let’s employ a “cooking analogy” today to describe his latest words (that only a fool would bet on—sorry, Wayne—but I know you’d miss the obligatory reminder of the Romney prediction fail).

Wayne takes a fair amount of truth (in the form of uncooked spaghetti). He then cooks it to a VERY soft state and ties it into some rather convoluted but interesting knots. If he had tried to “rearrange” the truth this way using his UNcooked spaghetti, he would have ended up with a pile of fragments the size of BB’s, because “uncooked” truth just won’t bend like that..

Wayne then slathers the knotted up pile of cooked spaghetti (which DOES have some truth in there, remember) and slathers it with that patented PLD horsepucky sauce (filled with the “meat” of bias and self-delusion). Then he serves it up to us and says “Bet on this!”

Mmmm-Mmmm-Good! Mikey likes it! Say many. Others ask, Where’s the beef?
One sure thing—-go get Speedy Alka -Seltzer because he will be very busy today.

PS I love the crony-socialist vs. crony capitalist thing. It would take a HAMMER to get the “uncooked” truth broken down to a size where that “mix” could occur.

    • Tim L.

      BRAVO! Well said.

    • Right Brain Thinker

      mark and rendar get it!

And it is probably safe to say also that small business is paying more and more of the taxes since big business is “out HIDING” so much of its revenue overseas and avoiding paying taxes on it.

    • DaveH

RBT reveals that his brain is full of spaghetti. No wonder he needs to stick to Liberal Progressive manipulative methods.

      • Right Brain Thinker

Ha-Ha-HA-ha and HA!, Dave. Your wit is overwhelming! “brain is full of spaghetti” is just SO clever! And YOU have called ME “juvenile”? Lord love a duck!

But you’ve succeeded in one of yo9ur goals, Dave—-RBT has noticed you out of the corner of his eye—-make a mark on your tally sheet.

(But have you ever thought that every time you make a foolish remark and I respond, I make you look even more foolish, and that may not be too smart? But “smart” is something you obviously don’t understand very well, so maybe I shouldn’t have asked)
        LOL

  • mark

Big Business doesn’t need Obama’s help. They are always out to screw America and working-class, lower middle class Americans.

    • DaveH

      Sure they do, mark.
Without the Force of Big Government involvement, how would they make us buy their products?
Without the Force of Big Government involvement, how would they stifle their smaller competitors?
Without the Force of Big Government involvement, how would they stay in business when the consumers look elsewhere to buy products and services? Like GM, for instance.

    • momo

Big business owns Obama, just like they owned Bush.

      • ranger09

Big Business has always controlled the Politicians. Politicians have one big concern, And thats how to make more money for themselves. And this they are very good at, Considering they are so lousy at doing anything else.

        • Deerinwater

Not always and never completely. This is something that the American people have permitted and allowed to happen and have only themselves to blame.

It’s okay, to say that you do not approve but to be sincere, this needs to be followed up with active engagement in the political process and your generous contributions.

All the money that was spent to elect Mitt Romney failed so there are somethings that money just can’t buy. The question before you is, how much value do you place on that?

      • http://gravatar.com/bychoosing WTS/JAY

deer: This is something that the American people have permitted and allowed to happen and have only themselves to blame.

Pray tell, deer, how did the American people allowed that to happen? The government never has and still does not, govern with the consent of the people. Are you trying to absolve the criminal-activity of the politicians by blaming the people? That is absurd!

  • rendarsmith

“Small business creates most of the jobs” – this is becoming more and more true with all the outsourcing that the big business are doing.

  • Right Brain Thinker

I was right about needing the Alka-Seltzer to deal with Wayne’s “cooking”. In just the short time it took me to write my previous comment, we have somehow brought guns into the conversation, somebody has called O’Bama a “bastard” (in spite of his having produced a 100% legit birth certificate that said he had two parents and they were married), and Doc Sarvis has brought up Jesus!

Lord love a duck, Doc, what’s wrong with you? Don’t you realize that you have opened the floodgates. Since Jesus was a flaming LIBERAL and was a champion of the poor and persecutor of the “capitalists”, you shouldn’t bring him up here.

Now we will REALLY need the “plop-plop, fizz-fizz” to settle the inflamed tummies of the mindless.

(and for any of you who are wondering about some of my allusions to commercials, ask your father or grandfather)

    • Flashy

Actually RBT, I was thinking along the lines of the mad scientist in the movie Metropolis.

      • Right Brain Thinker

        Yeah, that works too.

    • DaveH

Do you guys ever have anything more real to say than a bunch of banter that sounds like it comes from a gathering of 8th graders at the soda fountain?

      • Capiralist at Birth

Why do you give them any credit by reading their rants. It is a complete waste of time an energy to read and respond. Save your time and energy for more worthwhile causes.

      • deerinwater

Yea ! save your ammo and don’t fire until you see the white in their eyes.

      • Karolyn

Uh, Dave, pot calling the kettle black?

      • Right Brain Thinker

Actually, Dave, a “gathering of 8th graders at the soda fountain” would be far more likely to understand our “banter” than you. I’ve known some pretty smart 7th. and 8th. graders, and your comment here proves that they could run rings around you (in between sips on their sodas).

        • Frank Kahn

Ah, the arrogant arguing with the ignorant, you two decide who is what.

      • Right Brain Thinker

DAVE! Frank has just called you ignorant! Are you going to let him get away with that?

        • Frank Kahn

Thank you for admitting you are arrogant, but are you sure I was calling him ignorant?

      • Right Brain Thinker

Frank once again proves that he is running to keep up when he says, “Thank you for admitting you are arrogant, but are you sure I was calling him ignorant?”

Yeah Frank, quite sure—-YOU are the one that set up a rather narrow dichotomy for us and gave us a “choice”. Since DaveH is so slow at running down his list of canned responses and picking the dumbest, I beat him to the punch and made the choice.

I know that thing called “logic” is an alien concept for you, but in an “either-or” situation, once the “either” is decided, then the other must be “or”. And YOU are the one that made “ignorant” the “or” and therefore did IN FACT call DaveH ignorant once I took the “either” off the table.. Got that? No? Not surprised.. Ask GALT to explain it to you.

And I won’t deny that what you see in me could be interpreted as “arrogance” by folks like you. That doesn’t mean that I ever admitted that I am. Some might turn that back on you and say you’re just showing that you’re envious or jealous of my abilities when you call me that, but it’s not worth arguing over, so I’ll let it ride and wait for your next “gem”..

        • Frank Kahn

I did not miss the LOGIC of the either or part. I was merely pointing out that you chose one and not the other. If HE picks the same one then you are the or, LOGICAL?

Here is some inescapable logic for you. Since you said I called him the OR, that means that you are accepting the EITHER.

Dave makes remarks that can be classified as arrogant just as often as you do, so why would you assume that I was calling you arrogant?

And, once again I have the opportunity to display your childish name calling as opposed to reason and logic(?).

“I know that thing called “logic” is an alien concept for you, but in an “either-or” situation, once the “either” is decided, then the other must be “or”. And YOU are the one that made “ignorant” the “or” and therefore did IN FACT call DaveH ignorant once I took the “either” off the table.. Got that? No? Not surprised.. Ask GALT to explain it to you.”

Proof by bald assertion: I have not given any indication that logic is alien to me.
False logic proof by assumption: I actually showed my understanding of an either or situation when I said you were choosing ARROGANT when you said I called Dave IGNORANT.
Post hoc, ergo propter hoc: Since you chose ARROGANT I was calling Dave IGNORANT. Not true, you assumed I was calling you arrogant, so YOU called Dave IGNORANT.

Post hoc ergo propter hoc, Latin for “after this, therefore because of this”, is a logical fallacy (of the questionable cause variety) that states “Since that event followed this one, that event must have been caused by this one.”

In reality, I might have been calling both of you Arrogant and Ignorant.

And, please, ask the KING OF ARROGANCE AND IGNORANCE to explain something as simple as “either, or”?

          Next item

“And I won’t deny that what you see in me could be interpreted as “arrogance” by folks like you. That doesn’t mean that I ever admitted that I am. Some might turn that back on you and say you’re just showing that you’re envious or jealous of my abilities”

Ad hominem attack: implying that people like me are, in some way, wrong in how we perceive you.

          “Definition of ARROGANT
          1
: exaggerating or disposed to exaggerate one’s own worth or importance often by an overbearing manner
          2
: showing an offensive attitude of superiority : proceeding from or characterized by arrogance ”

You fit definition 1. as shown by the second quote in this post.
You fit definition 2. as shown in both quotes.

So, yes, we MIGHT, CORRECTLY, consider you to be ARROGANT.

      • Right Brain Thinker

I most certainly AM impressed by Frank’s logic lesson. He has done an excellent job of copying excerpts from the “Logic for Dummies” book, even though he didn’t pick all the best ones.

I AM wondering why he thinks it’s “logical” for him to waste all this time on this. It’s not, and I’m going to prove that I understand that by not wasting the time to “play” with him.

Would anyone care to predict what Frank’s response to that will be? Or DaveH’s?

  • daniel

You ever figure that both parties are guilty of the same thing on this one? When money is spread around to more people it makes them more independent and harder to control. Small business breed independence and are therefore more unruly when it comes to following any kind of grand design. It is much easier to control people when there is less obstacles in the way. Corporations can and do focus in on areas and policies that will make the most of the buck. Politicians focus on raising the most money from the fewest sources in order to save energy. The more corporations control by eliminating small business the easier it is for them and politicians to control the populace and establish their agendas. Look at what Mousellini did for Italy. Eliminate the competition and you control the agenda.
While republicans are castigated as the party of the rich I never once seen Obama racing to a fundraiser hosted by poor people.

    • ranger09

WE only have 1 party and thats the politicians Club, But stupid Americans cannot see beyond their TV.

      • Nadzieja Batki

That is the truest statement that is said. Consider that the bunch in DC live in the same areas, eat at the same restaurants, use the same hairdressers, shop at the same stores, go to the same gatherings, send thier kids and grandkids to the same schools, etc..They live in their own created world and the rest of America is not compatible with them

  • Kb

All true, but Obama is just the talking head. The folks behind the scenes have planned this for years!

  • Flashy

I began taking the “key phrases” from Root’s rant, and gave up after the first few paragraphs. Whatever script he’s writing from, it’s straight from Alice in Wonderland. “It’s not our fault!” seems to be the underlying theme… he has gone off the deep end trying to link the effects of the War on the Middle Class initiated by Reagan and carried on to conclusion by Bush/Cheney and the extremists to this administration.

Seriously … Mr. Root, you definitely have that knack common to bookies to hype and tout someone into a bad wager…and if you really h0nestly believed one line of your BS you are in need of deep intense therapy.

You have an opportunity to sway, to inform, to put forth cogent, well thought out policies and opinion…instead you write trash unsuitable even for the bottom of a kitty litter box.

Oh yes, folks posting here will gush all over your inane rantings. because hate, fear, and ignorance is their stock. Take out your rantings of hate, anger, mistruths, ignoring history, twisted logic, and avoidance of responsibility….and your article has at most three sentences, including your first one.

Let me guess, it’s Obama’s fault that the Romans got their butts kicked at Battle of the Teutoburg Forest, and that we didn’t vote for free silver in the 1890s, and the tornado placing Dorothy in Oz was the super secret weather machine Obama had constructed. those are far more believable Mr. Root, than your rantings of the day. .

    • Right Brain Thinker

Dang, Flash! I didn’t know O’Bama was responsible for all that! But since it’s right there on the page in front of us, it MUST be true. (Of course, I didn’t really read or understand what you said, but it LOOKED like you said “bad things happened and it was O’Bama’s fault”, so that’s good enough for me).

      • Flashy

LOL RBT. In essence, I wrote that anyone who believes a word of Root’s article (including Root himself) is a few fries short of a Big Mac Deal.

      • Right Brain Thinker

Thanks for explaining that, Flash. I think I get you—maybe if you didn’t use fancy and confusing words like “essence”, it would be easier for some of us PLD-ers to understand. Isn’t “essence” some kind of “perfumey” thing? Are you saying something smells good here? Or something smells bad and we need air freshener? I get so confused sometimes.

PS While you’re explaining “essence”, could you help me with “Something’s rotten in Denmark”? I never did get how people could smell Denmark when it’s way over there.

PPS A thought just occurred to me. Were you really thinking “essenes” and made a typo? I didn’t know they were at the Teutoburg forest. Or is the Teutoburg forest in Denmark and is that the key? I get really REALLY confused sometimes.

      • Flashy

RBT….i understand your confusion. Which is different than being like Aunt Maggie ..who is well known in the family circle as being a tad bit ‘confused’ at times. In philosophy, essence is the attribute or set of attributes that make an entity or substance what it fundamentally is, and which it has by necessity, and without which it loses its identity.

        Clear?

As to “Something is rotten in Denmark”…I shared your confusion for many years. I lived in Copenhagen for three years (if there ever was a heaven for a bachelor, Copenhagen has to be it :). the phrase often was perplexing given my experiences there.

The phrase comes from butchering Bill Shakespeare’s Hamlet (don’t ask me the Act and scene…i read his writings, but not that detailed of scrutiny). The quote is “Something is rotten in [the state of] Denmark.” and was uttered by …..Marcelus (?) about the death of the King, Hamlet’s father. I can only refer you to reading Hamlet to discern what the reference truly means.

The Battle of the Teutoburg Forest is where the Romans were completely wiped out by Germanic tribes and halted the expansion of the Roman empire into N. Europe. Again, memory fails when it occurred, but it was after Caesar by a few hundred years and when the Empire was at its height. no..it occured along the Rhine somewhere…and has nothing to do with Dorothy and the land of Oz (though i wonder…if OZ was a TPer, do you think he would have had “his way” with Dorothy as the price to return? Seeing as most of the American Taliban are TPers as well..and women must subjugate themselves before men. Hmmmmmm. )

BTW…I do not recollect if Oz, Shakespeare, or Hamlet have ever been called a socialist or commie by PLD posters … I do know Reagan has been called such. He was a “liberal” in disguise…didn’t you know?

        Everything clear now?

      • Flashy

Davey boy … a bit jealous that a bit of intellectual give and take is over your head?

We know you “aced” a philosophy course without ever reading any of the Greats, and you link to articles you extol the virtues of without reading what you link to, and are a great supporter of an economic theory that has never been practiced or attempted and relies heavily on unproven and great leaps of faith assumptions … and now we know you carry a grudge for anyone who can carry on an intellectual discussion.

got a mises link for us today?

      • DaveH

There goes Flashshill, with his typical ad hominem attacks.
Thank you, Flashshill for giving the readers yet another example of Liberal Progressive depravity.

      • DaveH

Flashshill says — “and are a great supporter of an economic theory that has never been practiced or attempted and relies heavily on unproven and great leaps of faith assumptions”.
        Actually it has been practiced.
For the first 100 years of our country’s existence, the total Government expenditures were less than 3% of our GDP per annum. During that same time period the Dollar actually increased in buying power, and after 100 years it could buy twice as many goods and services as it did when the country began. And that was even with the burden imposed of an economy-stifling and deadly (more than 600,000 lives lost) War of Aggression against the South.
We grew from a group of colonies under Great Britain’s thumb to a country with the number 1 economy in the world.
In our last 100 years, total Government expenditures per annum have grown to 41% of GDP (13 times bigger than in 1880). Our dollar has lost over 95% of its buying power since 1913. We have had one 14-year Depression, numerous smaller recessions, and now this current economic mess.

Flashshill claims that Free Markets (Capitalism) has never been practiced, but we know for certain that Socialism has been practiced, and it has been an utter failure. Those who want to further investigate can go here and see how the Countries with the Least Socialism (top of the ranking) compare with the countries with the Most Socialism (bottom of the list). There’s not even a semblance of a contest:
        http://heritage.org/index/ranking

What FlashShill and his Liberal Progressive cohorts want, Folks, is to ride Free on your backs. Wake up to that reality.

      • Flashy

“Flashshill claims that Free Markets (Capitalism) has never been practiced” <– Davey boy

Wait a second…so now you are claiming that the first 100 years of this nation …it was Austrian economics that was the policies?

Whoa….Davye boy…you aren't a few fries short of a Big mac Deal…you're the whole bag of fries missing from the tray …

      • Capiralist at Birth

Why are you totalitarian socialists/nazzis here anyway? If you don’t agree with the articles written on this site, why are you reading them and spending all of the time you do commenting?

      • Flashy

“Why are you totalitarian socialists/nazzis here anyway? If you don’t agree with the articles written on this site, why are you reading them and spending all of the time you do commenting?” <— CB

Because we're taking down names for when it comes time to start filling up those FEMA camps ….

      • DaveH

Flashshill says — “Wait a second…so now you are claiming that the first 100 years of this nation …it was Austrian economics that was the policies?”.
Did I say anything about Austrian Economics, Flashman?
Austrian Economics didn’t manifest itself (although preceded by similar disciplines) until the late 19th Century and they fell on the deaf ears of Big Government Progressives who were too busy feathering their own nests to worry about the rest of the people.

What I am claiming is that Small Government is conducive to Good Economy, Flashshill.

Those people, who would like to understand what’s really going on, would do well to learn some Austrian Economics though. Flashshill and his handlers would rather you didn’t, because it will be a lot harder for them to fleece you if you are more educated in matters of economic reality.

        Here’s a good starting point:
        http://library.mises.org/books/Kel%20Kelly/The%20Case%20for%20Legalizing%20Capitalism.pdf

Thank you for posting, Flashman and RBT.
These are the people who want to run your lives, Folks. It isn’t a pretty picture.

      • cawmun cents

Don’t you enjoy “esscence”of progressive liberal DaveH?
Personally I always liked Romania in the summer…
You see,the men leave the country to obtain work, leaving entire cities full of women in lust.
Nothing screams yay! like hard times huh?
        But what do I know?
        Apparently very little.
        Cheers!
        -CC.

      • Right Brain Thinker

DaveH says, “Thank you for posting, Flashman and RBT”

I’m sure Flash and the other “brained” folk on PLD will say “You’re very welcome, Dave” and join me in thanking YOU for “posting” also. It is such great fun knowing you and helping you shill for the libs-progs as you endeavor to make Libertarians-conservatives look like complete fools.

cawmun cents says, “But what do I know?” and answers his own question, “Apparently very little”. It’s good to see such a level of self-awareness beginning to bloom in one small corner of PLD. Maybe it will grow to the point that you will some day feel ashamed of some of the things you have posted? Cheers, indeed!

  • ToughGuy1

Obama will find a way to give a executive order on this too. Obama is crazy he’s like a big pimp, and a bully, and a freaking punk. The school bully that wants to take your lunch money away from you!

    • Right Brain Thinker

      Hey, TG1

If O’Bama issues another executive order on this, will it be number 140? (the real number), or number 924? (the number the wing-nuts say he signed). Only a difference of 784 between the truth and the lies.

And you got it wrong in other ways also—-saying “freaking pimp, big bully, and a punk” (just plain punk) makes better sense. And why would he worry about stealing anyone’s nickle and dime lunch money when he has all those “job creators” he can steal really big bucks from by raising their taxes?

  • jrd3123

Doc, It’s not DNC or GOP. It’s the combining of Corporate America and Government. It has been getting worse the last 30-40 years…every year. I believe Mr. Root’s point is hidden in his enthusiasm for slamming Obama. His point is pertinent, Crony Capitalism is a path to Socialism. I am a Tea Party member. I want small business to be on a level playing field with large corporations where regulations are concerned. As Larry Arnn said: We require laws in order to be productive and to live safely. Laws are different than regulations in important ways. Laws are passed by elected (and thus accountable) representatives, they cover everybody equally, and we can all participate in their enforcement because they are easy to understand. Not one of those three things is true of the regulations imposed by independant boards such as those established under Obamacare or Dodd Frank. We need the Excecutive, Legislative and Judiciary branches of the government to focus on laws and not regulations.
Large Corporations donates to their represetative, the representative promotes a regulation written by a board that represents the corporation, the other legislators understand the prid pro quo concerning the representative and the corporation, they vote to pass each others regulations, which in turn benefits the corporation, the corporation gets a kickback, or a contract or a grant…for their donations. These kickbacks are our money. If we don’t pay attention, the government is going to regulate us right into Socialism. Why did the AARP back Obamacare? Coincidence? Why did the Super Banks back Dodd Frank? Coincidence again? I don’t believe it for a minute. I’m Taxed Enough Already!

    • Right Brain Thinker

jrd3123 makes some good points. Unfortunately he didn’t lift the TP blinders far enough to realize that what we are headed for is not socialism but corporate fascism-feudalism and an aristocracy of the plutocrats.. Wayne made some good points also but went way off-base when he too tried to tie what’s going on in the country with socialism. Open your eyes, jrd and Wayne—you ALMOST get it.

      • Steve E

Tea Party and fascist? I think you are on the wrong planet.

      • http://freeisrael.wordpress.com/ freeisrael

If you really think Hussein is doing a good job and your remain in your brain dead state you might want to remember what Obama and his preacher wanted all along.

        G-d d-mn America
The chicken are finally coming home to roost.

You may like to move to Iran where you can live among the Mullahs like this illegally elected mallato.

      • Right Brain Thinker

Guys, you really need to pay attention and read things before you get cranked up and respond.

Steve E, If you’re implying that I said the tea party is “fascist”, you are the one who is on the wrong planet.

freeisrael, If you are implying that anything much of what I have said here has to do with the job “Hussein” (O’Bama?) is doing, you are the one who is in a brain dead state.

You both need to take reading lessons, with emphasis on improving your comprehension.
Spelling lessons might be in order too—-if you’re going to try to insult the duly elected President of the U.S., with his election already confirmed by the electoral college, and who is about to be inaugurated (I got my invitation, did you?), you should at least spell “mulatto” correctly.

      • Steve E

RBT, you need to wake up on whatever plane you are on. You previous stated. “Unfortunately he didn’t lift the TP blinders far enough to realize that what we are headed for is not socialism but corporate fascism-feudalism and an aristocracy of the plutocrats”. You need to improve how you express yourself if you want people to understand what you write. Also, who made you the spelling police? Was it one of Obama’s executive orders?

      • jrd3123

Right Brain Thinker, I fight for the rights of the people, I don’t care which ism it is. Our consitution restricts government. The fair market place takes care of Corporations…(unless the government artificially props them up). We don’t need the government picking winners and losers. Italian Fascism or German National Socialism, either ism restricts the right of the people. When the people fear the government we have despotism, when the government fears the people we have liberty.

      • Right Brain Thinker

We don’t disagree all that much, jrd3123. I also found some truth in Wayne’s “sphagetti” before he “cooked it and tied it in knots”. My point was that there are all kinds of “isms” and they morph and blend over time and we need to keep our definitions and history straight. Yes, IF we had a FAIR market place, it MIGHT “take care” of the corporations.

Unfortunately, the greedy rich of the plutocracy have bought the government to the extent that it does in fact “prop them up”, and that, in the long run, is what will restrict the rights of the people by turning us into serfs. What we need is a government that is feared by the greedy rich and the corporations to the point that the free markets are restored and work in a way .that benefits all.

      • Right Brain Thinker

Steve E says, “You need to improve how you express yourself if you want people to understand what you write”, apparently referring to my comment that said,.

“Unfortunately he didn’t lift the TP blinders far enough to realize that what we are headed for is not socialism but corporate fascism-feudalism and an aristocracy of the plutocrats”.

Uh, Steve—-that statement is really quite clear (although I could have inserted a comma in one spot). Just what part of it don’t you understand? Perhaps you should read it again and again until you comprehend it? Or get someone to explain it to you? If you’re just not smart enough, I’m sorry to say that there’s not much to be done about that. Since my statement is written at about the 9th. or 10th. grade level, you should be able to “get it”—-you made it that far in school, didn’t you?

Also, as far as your question “who made you the spelling police?”. I am not by any means the spelling police, although I do sometimes play word games with some of the more egregious misspellings and grammar-syntax errors on PLD. In this case what I was really saying was:

“Anyone who insults the TWICE-elected President of the United States, Barry H. O’Bama, should at least spell his insult correctly”.

Makes the insulters look foolish if they don’t do that, don’t you agree? I try to help folks “look good” in what they say—-it’s the old “once a teacher, always a teacher” thing (and you need not thank me for trying to help you here).

        • Frank Kahn

When you made the following statement

“Anyone who insults the TWICE-elected President of the United States, Barry H. O’Bama, should at least spell his insult correctly”.

I am wondering why all the information I have seen on his name is spelled different?

The name is Barack H. Obama, since that is the official name given in his campaign, why do you intentionally misspell it in two places BARRY not BARACK and O’BAMA instead of OBAMA.

If you are going to chastise people for not spelling it correctly, should you not spell it right?

      • Right Brain Thinker

Frank, I’ve explained this several times on several threads—-please pay attention.

I have explained to the others that have asked this same question that new information came to light back when that pompous fool Donald Trump last brought up the tired old birth certificate thing. O’Bama is actually descended from one of a boatload of Kenyan sailors that were shipwrecked on the Irish coast in 1437. He is one of those “Black Irish” that folks are always talking about. In light of that fact, some have “Irishized” the spelling of his name to Barry H. O’Bama.

It seems to have taken hold, particularly among those who can’t seem to accept the fact that we have a black man as president, and that he has a “funny” and foreign sounding name like Barack Hussein Obama. They seem to be able to fantasize that he is more “one of them” when they look at the “Irishized” spelling. I think that’s a good thing for all, so I help to spread this new knowledge around.

        • Frank Kahn

I was not able to verify your assertions about the information regarding Obama’s ancestors. That, however does not address the purpose for my post on the misspelling of his last name. I don’t care if you think that making it sound Irish makes him more palatable.

  • R. Johnson

You flatter Obama by calling him a fascist; he is not a fascist, he is a Marxist. His education was a Marxist education, all his close associations and mentoring was by radical Marxists; his determination to bring business, manufacturing, and finance under the thumb of the government is straight out of the Marxist handbook. Marxists have always cozied up to big business until it is ready to drop the hammer on big business and either nationalize their company, or to impose some form of total government control over that company–by then it is too late for that corporation to defend itself, it is done, cooked, and one segment of the free market has been killed. Marxism cannot tolerate freedom of any kind, freedom kills Marxism, so a free market is not going to be tolerated, it will be neutralized bit by bit (Obama is doing it by large bit by bits). Obamacare was never about healthcare, it was always about socialism, a huge tax increase, and the removal of large amount of individual freedom from every American.

Karolyn, why are so unfailingly polite in your comments? In some cases it is appropriate to call a “spade a spade”, and it would be appropriate to call Smurfy what he displays with this latest post—-he’s not a “smart aleck”, he’s dumb and self-deluded to the point of being SICK. And he’s getting SICKER every day. Perhaps some folks noticed when I took him to task on another thread yesterday for being SICK? He is getting worse today.

up the hill airborne indeed! Where’s the “screaming eagle” crap today, Smurfy? Did my mention of a real Screaming Eagle (my uncle), and my chastising you for your lack of respect for those who served and died in Nam make you think a bit and decide to leave that off today? You’ll do a lot of screaming when you end up behind the locked doors.

      • Steve E

Karolyn, “Leave it to a conservative to start the smart aleck remarks!” It looks like an idiot making fun of a person because he is smart. You should be smart and make fun of idiots, not be an idiot and make fun of the smart people.

      • DaveH

It’s funny, Karolyn, that you quite often try to convince us that you’re open-minded, yet I’ve never seen you chastise a Liberal Progressive no matter how infantile their comments get. Why is that?

I guess he didn’t like the idea that it was mostly liberal-type people posting. Personally, I think many of you guys (and one woman I won’t mention) are like little kids in the schoolyard, and some are just over the top.

CAB – You are just too literate for words! :-)

Right Brain -I will not lower myself to that level. I do not believe in tit for tat, which occurs here constantly. The power of people to get to you is something that you give them. it’s not worth it.

Steve – If calling people names and being crude is smart, then I guess I am not and glad of it.

      • Right Brain Thinker

Karolyn says, “Right Brain -I will not lower myself to that level. I do not believe in tit for tat, which occurs here constantly”. But you’re a lady, Karolyn, and a pretty smart one, so that’s the way we would expect you to think. What you see taking place here is more of a “guy thing”—-you need some testosterone to get into it. Of course, that’s all some of the “guys” have, and not much brain power, so that’s what makes Crap at Birth and Smurfy such “loosers” in the game of “tit for tat”. Of course, they asked for it and try to dish it out, so I for one don’t feel too bad about giving it to them.

You are 100% correct when you say, “The power of people to get to you is something that you give them. it’s not worth it”. That’s why I never let any of them get to me, but instead I get to them. And one look at Crap’s “Go *$#@^ yourself” and can’t-find-the hill-to-go-up Smurf’s nonsense shows just that. They are starting to thrash around the way DaveH does when one of us “smart alecs” splashes the holy water of truth on them.

And Smurfy reveals something about himself when he says, “Now I’ve got to get back out on the floor and get my hands dirty, something you’ve never known”. Glad to hear you’re not a “moocher” and work for a living, Smurf. I worked my way through college by working in a machine shop—-took me five years—-got my hands so dirty that I often couldn’t get them very clean—-but it paid off. (And I got them pretty dirty as a school administrator too, especially when I had to deal with blood and puke—-just so you know).

Agreed – these are the same cast of characters that have been fully snowed in 2008 and 2012. Fortunately, 5 million less voters were snowed in 2012, whereas Romney actually scored about a million more votes than Mccain did in 2008. So the novelty is starting to wear off. Notice the change in attitude toward corporate financing of the inaugurations. Hopefully, we only have 4 more years of this joker-there is some speculation he will try to get rid of two term limitation. That would be an unmitigated disaster for America.

Here’s an example of the man (loosely speaking) Piers Morgan who Flashshill supports. Notice his resemblance to our Liberal Progressive posters like Lizard Brain and Flashshill:

      • DaveH

Here’s another example of Piers Morgan’s typical Liberal Progressive tactics:
        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgYMOZD6xtc

      • DaveH

In this follow up interview with Piers Morgan vs. Larry Pratt, Piers is much more subdued. Obviously Piers was reprimanded by viewers or his handlers for his previous adolescent behavior:
        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cuKClhpkQLo

      • DaveH

Piers in the above video challenges Larry Pratt to specify the number of “gun murders” in England and Wales. Yes, in a heavily gun-controlled environment, gun murders will be fewer. Killers will use weapons that they have available, whether they be knives, clubs, electrical ties, or whatever. That is the Liberal Progressives’ time honored trick of equivocation to talk about “gun murders” as opposed to just plain “murders”. For those viewers who are ignorant, that trick probably works well. I doubt seriously that most people have a weapon preference to be used in their murders — They just want to live.
        This is what really counts:
        http://www.kc3.com/news/britt_aussie_crime.htm

      • DaveH

Piers Morgan vs Alex Jones. Unfortunately Alex, although armed with much better information, loses his temper and makes Piers look better than he is:
        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWQPZ-taYBs

Notice how Piers keeps trying his typical irrelevant smoke-screen of asking about “gun murders” instead of all “murders”.

      • DaveH

For those who are interested in knowing the truth (something you won’t get from fanatics like Piers Morgan). Here is a table of murders and the weapons used from the FBI. Notice that relatively few of the murders were committed with rifles of any kind, let alone “assault rifles”:
        http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr/crime-in-the-u.s/2011/crime-in-the-u.s.-2011/tables/table-20

Notice also that the number of murders committed by rifles (of any kind) is dwarfed by the number of murders committed with knives.

You should take a look at recent history, Since the late 1960′S early 70′s, the republicans have been pro big business and anti middle class. Granted the democrats have gotten on the bandwagon of turning the middle class into serfs. Nixon started it by lowering business tax rates, and raiseing working people’s income tax rates. Reagan and Greenspan went on to start with the bailouts, lowering big business tax rates even more, raising the working mans income tax rates even more. Clinton and his NAFTA to send even more jobs overseas. Not to mention letting comercial banks act like investment banks. G.W.Bush lowering big business rates even more, and starting TWO wars, and for the first time in this nations history not raising taxes to pay for them, and of course Bush’s totally insane bailouts of the banking and mortgage industry. Talk about one sided WELFARE and socialism, when the banks win they keep the money, when they lose, they get bailed out by the government. They basically have the key to the treasury. Obama is no better, but this stupid crap has been going on for over FORTY years, and it is getting worse every year.

Flashy in the leftist raincoat. You are right on . It was not Obama’s fault for all of those historic failures. It was Bushes fault all along . keep on the leftist agenda rant please. When you fall off your Dems talking points of disinformation, you confuse your fellow travelers no end. Daniel has a great point.TARRP funds never trickled down to the working poor and the mantra of jobs that Obama promised never evolved at that level. Consider the super con and the huge cash eminating from the TAARP that could never reach the lower middle class rung grasp, It is clear that it was never meant to. Consider in a vacuum, that if every poor person recieved his fair share of those borrowed TAARp funds, then we would be in a booming economy driven by the bottom up tax creations that do not now exist. Dick Nixon asked the GAO how much it cost to issue a welfare check to the poor for $10,000 per year. The GAO answered $40,000 was the bureaucratic filter required to issue that check to the poor. Nixon asked, then why dont we issue $40,000 directly to the poor and they will no longer be poor? Go figure the falsehood being sold today on helping the very poor get be rich. Obama’s books and 2016 documentary using his own words dictates his personal agenda funded by George Soros and his chicago gang. Mitt romney, the moderate, was chosen by the same folks that choose most politicians from both party’s. It was his GOP turn in the proverbial political Barrel like moderate McCain.Consider that each campaign cost upwards of a billion dollars taken out of the productive economy to get exactly nowhere, is astounding. Poor people with no marketable skills do not hire workers. Most are not illiterate or dummies either. 42 million on food stamps and other support systems do not indicate an entrprenurial desire to gain wealth. Mitt did not sell “rich is better, let me show you how as a winning pitch”. Obama sells “you are a victim of those that produce. Let me show you why. It worked”. Wealthy is better for those wealthy?. Poor is OK for those that seek it? The Government will care for each choice? Case dismissed for lack of truthful evidence.

    • Flashy

let’s start with your comments on TARP. TARP I was Bush II/Cheney trying to save the ship when it hit the rocks in the maelstrom caused by their mismanagement of our economy and massive redistribution of wealth to the wealthy and screwing the real job creators…the Middle Class. TARP II was President Obama who placed conditions on that money…and which was never tapped to any great extent since it carried conditions. When he took office, President Obama faced an economy in a free fall and losing almost a million jobs a month. Within a year, the private sector was back adding jobs and the recalcitrant GOP and extremists were busy blocking any program designed to add more jobs and strengthen the economy

it’s all factual history Slappy. Your comments are out of fantasy land if you believe them. If you don’t, you’re lyin’ and we can only guess what cause you are a patriot to…because it sure as heck ain’t America…

Total Non-Farm Employment in October 2012 (latest actual figures) — 133,705,000.

Dave, I’m as much of a tightwad as the next guy. But in view of what had culminated in the biggest economic collapse since the Great Depression, for which there’s plenty of blame to go around- from the “liberating” bank deregulation (Gramm, Leach, Bliley Act 1999) and all that went with that, to an ill-advised (however well-intended) extension of credit to the disenfranchised poor to encourage home-ownership and thus inspire engagement of the poor in the American Dream, that lead to an economic free-fall. I’m sure even the hardest liners would agree; something needed to be done to stave of total economic collapse. The $4.7 TRILLION bailout of the financial industry in response to fiduciary mal-feasance was preferrable to the alternative of doing nothing.

There are some bean counters out there that estimate tha totalt losses could have exceeded $20 Trillion when the ripple effect of forclosed homes, homes underwater, lost jobs and the revenue thereof, lost retail sales and all that goes with that (production, packaging, transportation, warehousing, etc.) a 35% property (real estate) devaluation, unemployment compensation, food stamps and other “entitlements” to help those who had the rug pulled out from under them (that you Republican pricks would deny them and or lump in with the welfare queens we all know exist that are taking advantage of the system), etc.

I realize our President and Congress will get no credit for stopping the economic free-fall from you or many posters on this site. Let’s face it, the smartest men in the room behaved very badly and their cheering section, the GOP has egg on their faces, and so do the Dems.

Whose limbs were made in England, show us here
The mettle of your pasture; let us swear
      That you are worth your breeding; which I doubt not;
For there is none of you so mean and base,
That hath not noble lustre in your eyes.
I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game’s afoot:
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
Cry ‘God for Harry, England, and Saint George!’ “

      • nc

Flashy. I remember the first time I ever heard these words! I was sitting in a sound booth In undergraduate school listening to a recording by Laurence Olivier of this speech! I also remember my thoughts! Man, how I wish Americans could speak English like this!

      • nc

Flashy. come to think of it, the Prologue to Henry the Fifth, “Oh, for a muse of fire.” is some purdy good writin’ too!

      • deerinwater

There will be few like him, ~ damn hard act to follow.

      • Right Brain Thinker

Yeah, I remember the first time I heard those wonderful words too. It was in boot camp—-they made us try to memorize it and anyone who couldn’t remember at least half a dozen lines was sent to OCS. They did change it a bit though—-the USMC version ended “Cry ‘God for Chesty Puller, the Corps, and Smedley D Butler!’ ”

And we had to go a bit beyond and also memorize some lines from Act 4, Scene 3 as well, again with a small USMC twist. I like these maybe even more.

        But we in it shall be remember’d;
        We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day
        OOH-Rah and Semper Fidelis!

I do think there’s some relevance to those who post on PLD in all of these quotes of bill.
Certainly that’s the case with the one from Macbeth that includes “….a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing”. That one always makes me think of “certain folk” when I hear it, although that wasn’t bill’s meaning when he wrote it.

P.S. Got to thinking about St Crispin’s Day and googled it—-very interesting that the battles of Agincourt, Balaklava, and the Leyte Gulf were all fought on St. Crispin’s Day—-25 October. Lots of “band of brothers” stuff in all of those battles.

You must be taking logic lessons from Frank Kahn if you think it makes sense to make a comment that tells us you’re not going to make a comment. Anyway, thanks for the heads up! • matforce

Seriously, Mr. Root, you have got to be kidding! This is one of the most disingenuous articles I’ve read in a long time.

To put the blame for “crony capitalism” on Obama when anybody who knows anything about Big Business, Big Oil, High Finance’s, etc. partnership with the government, knows that the GOP is the champion of all that is America Corp.

The Free Trade Agreements beginning with NAFTA (yes, it came up for a vote during Clinton’s presidency, but it was Bush Sr., Cananda’s Mulroney, and Mexico’s Salinas that wrote the bill and took it home to their respective legislatures for ratification), and GATT (Uruguay version), to the WTO, to the recent S. Korea, Panama, and Columbia FTA and the up-coming SE Asia FTA, it is the GOP that votes consistently in favor of these measures that benefit large offshoring corporations. All you need to do is look them up and see how they voted. Then look up the fate of Bill S3816,” Creating American Jobs and Ending Offshoring Act” (2010), what it contained and how they voted.

That Big Business has benefitted from these FTAs mostly through the by-passing of the relatively high wage USA worker’s wage to employ cheap labor offshore, then soak the USA with cheap foreign crap to fleece the middle class they’ve betrayed, is only the tip of the iceburg.

Wall Streetas has become dependent on the large profit margins our “multinationals” have been realizing throught the offshoring trend for decades so that our very retirement pensions, 401Ks and other investments on the Street pump investment $$$ into our large offshoring corporations, leaving your small businesses to cut costs to the bone, and are applying downward pressure on USA wages to attract investors. This has caused many businesses that have decided to stay home and employ USA workers to liquidate whole departments to the highest bidder to keep their stock values up, but does nothing to create the type of expansion that cranks up the economy and puts disposable income into the hands of the USA worker.

Obama is small time when it comes to croney capitalism. For the major players look no further than the Super PACs, Carl Rove, the Kochs, etc. that have the GOP in their pockets.

You need to read this book and get a clue what’s really going on, matforce:

I’m going to assume, matforce, that you were a wrestler?
If so, you had to do lots of work to get good at it. So please, apply that same energy to reading some books that tell you what’s really going on, instead of letting yourself get submitted to the forces of evil that run our Government.

      • matforce

Dave, the book you’ve recommended to me (for the second time) looks like an endorsement of my views i’ve redundantly and incessantly blathered about how our Govt. serves only the top, and reinforces my passionate rants of loathing and decrying about the Plutocracy that grips America the Beautiful… I may just order a copy and see for myself what insiders have to say… Like many posters on here; it had better support my views, or I’ll spend the rest of my life googling information to refute it…

      • Right Brain Thinker

DaveH may have shot himself in the foot when he says, “You need to read this book and get a clue what’s really going on, matforce” and later adds “apply that same energy to reading some books that tell you what’s really going on”. I agree with all that he has said there too.

I say that he may have inflicted a foot wound because that’s a book I would also recommend and it doesn’t support some of Dave’s “ideas” . Perhaps DaveH thought that it might reinforce the horsepucky he spews because the author is rather conservative?. Big surprise, Dave, because he is a true and honest conservative that tells it like it is without too much partisanship. Somewhat as Chris Hedges did in The Death of the Liberal Class—an indictment of Democrats by a rather liberal guy. I recommend both of those books to you matforce, and suggest you add Selling Out and Ventura’s book to the list (that one’s a quick read).

And don’t you have good libraries where you are? All of these books are available in mine, although I often do buy copies for myself and others after I read the “loaners”

      • Right Brain Thinker

PS Your 11:52 comment shows that you already “get it” but the books DaveH and I have recommended will give you even more ammo and fill in some gaps for you. Add The wrecking Crew to the list for the best indictment of the so-called conservative way of governing that I have read yet.

I STAND AMAZED; WHILE GOD’S PEOPLE, IGNORE HIS WARNINGS!

Just recently, we have seen the report from the article taken from CBN’s
Daily Christian News blog: as follows__when Franklin Graham was quoted
as saying: “That America has turned away from GOD!”

Even those who have causally been paying attention; have observed a continuous erosion and breakdown of governmental processes and the progressive degeneration of civil affairs, that too often are bordering on abject lawlessness! As this has become more evident and the problems seems to be growing in intensity and more severe! It is a certainty to me, and some of our associates; that the real issue, is really a pervading spiritual degeneration or the actual breakdown of individual awareness of right and wrong. Everyone has been lulled into complacency and complete departure from all moral experience. To some, it seems a long jump from reality and the personal mores of our populace. But it definitely is a ‘Spiritual problem’ that is prevalent, more than all the other considerations!

This is where all the liberals and Marxist have taken every guise of the possibly different problems, that have plagued mankind since the beginning of time. And they have worked at falsifying all information; to use it convincingly to sway the general public view and understanding of the unsuspecting people; those who are the social butterflies; and even the professionals! That their motives appear to be genuine and worthwhile. The actions of these groups is to provide a smoke screen of their real agenda. So as this has been applied over such an extensive period of time, that most of their followers are duped, into believing that everything that is presented or displayed; is to be accepted as unequivocal truth. Of course, this has been so gradual, that it is common to see more and more support gained as things progress.

This is how the state of our nation has slipped into almost complete lawlessness, for the way that so many have allowed their own lust for the things of world; and every new idol that has become the next object, of the world’s adoration. This is where we, the People of God, the true Christian Believers, have remained directly involved in the Kingdom of GOD!

And it is at this juncture, that we usually lose many of the believers attention; because they do not wish to be discovered in their sins. To make this more constructive; after much prayer, we have reached the same conclusion; that the deteriorating circumstance, condition, and present state of our country; that it is imperative, that we call everyone to pray and repent. We all bear the responsibility of this mess, that keeps feeding upon itself. But if anyone, that previously thought President Obama gave a care about anyone else; and has not had their eyes opened by now; then I pray that GOD will help you see the truth! It is so obvious that he is only interested in his own agenda and what he’s going to get from any action and all of the future
developments into the next four years.

I’m saying that we’re all responsible, because that is true, we have all played our own role in allowing our government to get completely out of control, because we have also allowed our nation to slip into this nightmare, of a moral cesspool and sin. It is our sins, that are coming back upon us as a nation. GOD has been trying to get everyone’s attention, but too many choose to ignore all of GOD’s warnings. This has been progressively getting more serious, since the ’9/11 Terrorist Attack’ on the towers in New York City, NY! Most recently, the ‘Superstorm Sandy’ and our National Election. Where the most guilty group, that was directly responsible are this nations so called ‘real Christian Believers’; that did not even choose to get up and vote! This has not made the news reports, mainly because of the biased news-media; and from their view, who cares what the Christians ever think!

Yeah, we have been able to prove that there were approximately 12 Million Christian voters missing from the ballots and the voting booths! Which is more votes than the entire state of Ohio received, on the election of November 6, 2012! As a minister and prophet, I have been telling all that were willing to listen at every opportunity, since 1983 that we need to repent for the sins of this nation, and that every Christian Believer, needs to humble themselves before GOD praying; and asking forgiveness for our own sins and the sins of our nation; that GOD will hear these prayers and heal
our land. Just as I have been telling everyone, they must understand that GOD’s WORD is true, and it means exactly WHAT HE SAYS, THAT HE WILL DO IT, and it will be accomplished!

We then felt compelled to start warning GOD’s People, the Christian believer’s, that we
all should repent and humble ourselves before GOD, asking that HE forgive our nation’s sins, and GOD, upon HEARING these prayers of repentance; would begin to change HIS MIND of further judgment, and heal our nation, This follows in line with the scripture [2 Chr. 7:14] “If MY People, which are called by MY NAME, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek MY FACE, and turn from their wicked ways; then I WILL HEAR FROM HEAVEN, AND I WILL FORGIVE THEIR SINS, AND WILL HEAL
    THEIR LAND.” {NKJV.}……….

To most who have any spiritual awareness; the facts that are coming, are more and more quickly coming. And GOD’s People still aren’t paying attention. We are facing serious problems in the United States of America. There is an assault of every principle and stature, that our founding-fathers chose to make the basis of our Republic, from its inception.

I personally have been sensitive to GOD’s WARNINGS, and I have continued to take
my stand for GOD’s KINGDOM very seriously, as I’ve continued to stand in faith
calling for repentance of our nation, since 1983. In fact, this has opened many divine
encounter’s for me, that even I have found astounding. I was fortunate, to have been given an opportunity to be able to stand within ten feet of Ronald Reagan, in 1984, at the Lowe’s Anatole’ Hotel here in Dallas as he spoke before the Republican Party. Of course, I did not know beforehand that GOD had divinely placed a relative, my cousin, to be assigned to the Presidential Secret Service Team, who had just happened to have been given the assignment to protect, then Candidate Ronald Reagan in his bid for the Republican Party nomination. This assignment was later made official, by the newly elected President Reagan, just prior to his Inauguration and the Swearing-in Ceremony. He remained on President Reagan’s Secret Service Security assignment; but was not on duty, the day that Hinckly attempted to assassinate the President Reagan.

Several years later, I again had the privilege of meeting Pat Robertson, as he was making his run for President, as a Republican Party Candidate, as he made a stop at the Sunday Church service at the facility, where I was on staff, here in the Dallas, Texas area.

Not that any of that gives anyone, especially myself, more understanding nor privilege
beyond any other person. My purpose is only directed at, extending every possible
opportunity to bring our nation back to GOD. And the return of our nation to its original
intended place that GOD has planned. With all encumbrances removed; and the United
States re-established as the Christian bastion, that was originally intended, that GOD
HAD CALLED our Nation to be. For the furtherance of the Kingdom of GOD around
the world. Most are aware that GOD’S’s WORD says, that Jesus Christ will be proclaimed to the entire world, and then the end shall come

    We all need to come together in prayer and take a stand to regain our liberties and freedoms which are set forth under our Constitution. We all need to be mindful of the extreme sacrifice that our Fore-fathers made as they dedicated this nation, The Republic of United States of America, in the action which they all committed themselves, and our Nation to GOD ALMIGHTY, on that fateful day, April 30, 1789-as they assembled with our newly Inaugurated President George Washington in New York City, to follow his leading them down Wall Street to St Pauls Chapel, where they all joined together: The President, all of his Administration; the Senate;the House of Representatives; and all the members of the Supreme Court. They crammed into St Pauls Chapel, bowing down on their knees to dedicate this Nation to OUR GOD! And GOD has honored that commitment. {this chapel still exist today, right there in New York City,NY:in fact the property is adjacent to “Ground Zero” and is the only property that survived the terrorist attack on 9/11}
May I recommend to each member of Congress, to acquire a copy of the
new publication, “The Harbinger” by Jonathan Cahn (dated Jan.31,2012) and
also there is Bill Koenig’s book, “Eye to Eye: Facing the Consequences of
    Dividing Israel.”

Now in sharing all this, it my intent to validate, to those who might not have a
complete understanding! For a further explanation of our current dilemma here
in our nation. We have had GOD display some serious events, that are now forever
etched into history. The first being the terrorist attack on the Market Trade Center
Towers, there in New York City on September 11, 2001; that was the first warning
from GOD. Initially, there was a turning of the people, back toward GOD. Unfortunately, this was short lived, and the majority of the people gathered around what has become our “National Tabernacle/Cathedral”, our liberal media, which has almost complete domination of all of television news and reporting; as they listen to all the ‘babel of the media’, as they have been manipulating nearly every subject under the sun.

    The pulse of the nation is taken; they take every incident reported completely apart;
analyzed it; and then devour it, as it is chewed upon; then it is looked at from
every conceivable angle; then they apply their spin on it! By this time there may be
very little, that can even be recognized of the original event.

The most recent example was the way our State Dept and President Obama, initially
    tried to rewrite the entire incident of Benghazi, where four American’s were killed;
which, of course included our Ambassador to Libya. Not one person in this capacity
has been killed since 1974, and this matter should be completely investigated. It is
becoming more evident each day, that everything that presently is occurring has
been used by GOD to warn us as a nation, that has turned away from GOD! HE
continues to draw us back, before we so quickly lose our interest.

Then we have the crash of Stock-Market, which occurred exactly seven years to
the day, on the very same date, September 11, 2008! It is remarkable that, as
Lehman Bros. was moving forward to bankruptcy; that this one-time fourth-largest
financial investment bank, was allowed to go down in bankruptcy by the powers
that be. And this single decision, has resulted in the complete downfall of the
world economy. “The two greatest stock market crashes that America has ever
known; both just happened to occur on exactly the same date, which also appears
to be an extreme coincident to align with the date, established as a “biblical date”
that was brought forth by GOD and appointed for the wiping out of credit and debt.

Although my background isn’t Jewish, maybe it’s the frugality of my Scottish family
background, that caused me to take a more particular notice, of these two extraordinary events that have happened to the United States! Upon further examination, I found that initially, on “the twenty-ninth day of Elul, which is ‘the end of every seven year period’, which is called the Shemitah, according to the Jewish calendar- the final and cimatic day, when all remaining loans, credits, and debts had to be nullified.”

With the fall of Lehman Brothers. the stock-Market plunged more than 499 points.
Over the next several weeks, the world’s financial markets reeled wildly from the
impact. Of course, in response the U.S. Congress frantically introduced a plan to
reverse the implosion. That morning, September 29, 2001 the New York Stock-
Exchange began its session with what many considered an omen__the opening bell
did not sound. And the remaining results, are all in the history books. But to sum up
things, it was this event more than anything else, that shattered market confidence.
Over the next two weeks, the Dow fell approximately 2700 points, which reflects
    about 25% per cent drop.

And the second market-collapse, occurred on exactly the same date, which again
just happened to be on the twenty-ninth day of ‘Elul, which lines up with the Jewish
Shemitah’. On the exact same date, September 29, 2008. This was about …$700Billion, seven-hundred billion dollars. Which is mind-boggling, and that day the market lost seven percent (7%)! That’s seven-hundred seventy-seven percent (777%)……

When these things are illustrated in this manner, it is very evident to most of us, who
are paying attention, that GOD IS SERIOUS. And HE IS Calling HIS People back
to HIM; which means repentance is necessary according to 2 Chronicles 7:14!

Respectfully I request you and other patriots and believers in the “Free Enterprise” variety of Capitalism refrain from using the tainted term “Crony Capitalism.” The phrase incubated in the Commie meeting rooms as another tool to diminish capitalistic principles–those principles which have resulted in more wealth in the hands of more individuals than any economic system ever devised. Words mean something!

If this isn’t the stupidest opinion piece, devoid of fact, that I’ve ever read, then it’s certainly in the top 2. Question: if Obama and the Dem’s are so in bed with big business, then why did people like the Koch bros and Adelman spend multi-millions, and more, and continue doing so, to attempt to defeat him? Answer: they want no rules, no controls, nothing…to get in their way. That’s the mantra of the GOP, not the Democrats. The latter-day decendents of the John Birch Society, the right’s lunatic fringe, are alive and well in today’s Republican party. I’m a former independent who finds himself totally to the left, due to the misdeeds of the GOP. They’ve been screwing the middle class since Reagan’s joke on the working man known as trickle down economics, and will continue to do so, as long as people are gullible enough to buy into their bs. Enough people saw through it in 2012, which is why the election went the way it should have. God forbid the GOP ever comes to power again. They are the most screwed up disfunctional political entity I’ve ever had the displeasure to observe. I hope they’re done for good…

WHOA, Don. You are right on the mark in what you say and sound even angrier than I am about what the Repugnants have done to the country. Like you, I have watched the insane stampede to the right, and I started out from a position to your right as a “progressive moderate conservative”. This comment will have the deluded folks on PLD calling you a communist-socialist-marxist, just as they call me and any others who dare to speak truth to them—-be prepared and wear it as a badge of honor as I do.

    • matforce

Totally get what you’re saying, Don. Feel your anger. I was a registered Republican for 30 years (I abandoned the champion of the working class hero version of the Dems when they went far left during the 70s), but I will not vote again for the GAP (Grand Affluent Plutocrat) until they understand that a prosperous middle class is what drives the mighty USA economy; that segment of the population which they’ve abandoned in favor of BIG $$$ and their slick, polished, well heeled, well-connected lobbyist with [expletive deleted] of Corporate cash.

    • http://gravatar.com/bychoosing WTS/JAY

Don, you’re either delusional or purposely spreading propaganda. The Demonrats were/are just as guilty of playing “screw the middle class” game. NAFTA is a good indication of how both, the GOP and Dems, conspired to screw the middle-class!

NAFTA passed in both houses of Democratically controlled Congress in 1993. In the Senate, it passed with 61 yeas and 38 nays. In the House, it was much closer at 234 yeas to 200 nays. The Republicans in the House really came through for Clinton by providing 132 Yeas to counter 156 Democratic nays. Still, 40% of the Democrats in the House voted for NAFTA.

Many of NAFTA’s congressional supporters ended up presidential candidates or high ranking congressional and government officials. On the Senate side, the big name Democratic who voted for NAFTA include Bill Bradley, Tom Daschle, Christopher Dodd, Ted Kennedy, Joe Lieberman, John Kerry and Joe Biden.

All of these Democrats had made various bids for the presidency or vice presidency of the United States (Ted Kennedy’s presidential bid was squashed when he let an innocent woman drown). Interestingly, big name NAFTA supporting Republicans include John McCain, Bob Dole (defeated by Clinton), Mitch McConnell (current Senate Minority Leader) and many other Republicans in Congress were none too eager to assist Bill Clinton in the sellout of the American worker.

On the House side, NAFTA supporters included big name GOPers as Dennis Hastert, Newt Gingrich, Dick Armey, John Boehner, Newt Gingrich and Ron Portman, all of whom rose to leadership positions in the House or the Bush Administration. Democrat Nancy Pelsoi, who voted yes on NAFTA, ended up Speaker of the House.

Clearly, these traitorous rogues were handsomely rewarded with greater political power for engineering the systematic dismantling of the world’s greatest manufacturing legend in all of human history.

But the wholesale slaughter of the American middle class doesn’t end with NAFTA. It was immediately followed up by another Clinton initiative and victory with the aid of a Democratically controlled Congress subjecting America to the World Trade Organization, another boondoggle that savaged the American worker and has resulted in Chinese poison foods and other dangerous products entering U.S. markets.

In discussing the WTO, Republican Newt Gingrich admitted that by “transferring from the United States at a practical level significant authority to a new organization” that America would indeed experience radical changes in our system of governance.

In his own words, Gingrich summarized the WTO, “This is not just another trade agreement. This is adopting something which twice, once in the 1940′s and once in the 1950′s the U.S. Congress rejected. I am not saying that we should reject it; I, in fact, lean toward it. But I think we have to be very careful because it is a very big transfer of power.” -by Boudicca

      • Right Brain Thinker

Hello, JAY. don’t disagree very much with anything you say except for one BIG thing.

The Democrats are NOT “as much” to blame as the Repugnants. Yes, they have much dirt on their hands, but it is the Repugnant Party that was first bought by the greedy rich and the Democrats have just been followers. (And a lot of that “following” has been for survival purposes—the way the game became “rigged”, they had to “sell out” or become extinct). Just the way intelligent and responsible conservatives in congress have sold out their true conservative values because GROVER is waiting to take them down if they don’t toe the “crazy” line.

I have recommended a great book several times—-The Death of the Liberal Class—-written by Chris Hedges, a rather flaming liberal who not too long ago was one of a crowd that got arrested for chaining themselves to the White House fence. Since Liberals are way more open-minded and willing to look at facts than the motivated reasoners on the right, Hedges has written a rather searing indictment of the Democrats for “selling out” to the special interests. This book dovetails with those I have also mentioned re: the influence of big money on our electoral and legislative processes.

Yes, the plutocracy IS buying us all. Too bad they have bought many of the voters as well, somehow pulling off the neat trick of making conservatives turn on their principles and support the plutocracy as it works against EVERYONE’s best interests.

I agree with you and Chris Hedges, But do you really believe that you can get a Republican to open their minds to anything but what they hear on right wing radio, or read on this kind of website.

          • Frank Kahn

Still waiting for RBT to show he has a brain to open MLR.

He is very fast and slick with self aggrandizement but very short on facts and reasoning.

      • Right Brain Thinker

No, MLR, I don’t really believe that you can get many of the type of “Republican” we see in the majority here on PLD to “open their minds to anything but what they hear on right wing radio, or read on this kind of website”. There are some good “conservative” folks visiting PLD who are NOT blinded by mindless adherance to ideology, but they are few in number and don’t speak out much—-when they do, they too are attacked by the mindless ones and called communist-socialist-marxist-etc by people who don’t even know what those words mean. It’s like PLD has its own little “GROVER” brigade, only it enforces adherance to mindlessness rather than “don’t raise taxes”.

A case in point is Frank Kahn, who I once jokingly referred to as “FranKahnstein” when he made a “monstrously” illogical posting on an old thread. Frank has no sense of humor, so that play on words was not appreciated by Frank. Since then, I have upset him a number of times by beating his brains out with facts and logic arranged into real arguments. Frank now hates me, and he has always hated the thought of engaging in real discussions, as you can surmise from reading his comment below

Frank Kahn says, “Still waiting for RBT to show he has a brain to open MLR.
He is very fast and slick with self aggrandizement but very short on facts and reasoning”.

Twenty-nine words, only SIX of which are more than one syllable long. He presents no facts or arguments, uses no commas to aid comprehension—–gives us nothing but OPINION—-and very weak opinion at that. Yep, Frank is a good representative of the mindless. I predict that he will soon prove my point with an “answer” to this comment.

The last time we exchanged a series of comments, Frank “shouted” only a FEW words in HIS first remark, HALF OF THE WORDS in his second remark, AND ALL OF THE WORDS IN HIS THIRD REMARK. Pretty funny, but I DID worry that he was going to burst a blood vessel if we continued.

So, Frank? Are you going to say anything more? Maybe present an opinion backed up by facts, those facts assembled in such a way that you are making what is called an argument? Or are you going to SHOUT and spout more mindlessness? Can’t wait.

        • Frank Kahn

To imply that responding to you is proof of mindlessness is proof that you use logical errors in your statements. I will agree that I should have put a comma after the word but, but that does not change the readability of the sentence.

If you check back through the threads, you will find that not only did I not object to your Frankenstein remark, I did not respond at all.

I was not aware that reasonable arguments required big words, but if you need them to be comfortable, I will start using them.

My statement about your brain is supported by your lack of attempting to put forth any substantive personal thoughts regarding the subjects being discussed.

I can clearly remember our last attempt at a discussion, where you claimed that two parts of the brain, which are related to emotional response, were major players in the creation of logical reasoning.

I also remember that you berated me for using scientific studies, for my sources, in refuting your assertion.

Your mainstay of rebuttal always seems to lie in the area of personal ridicule as opposed to factual reasoning. I will engage you in pertinent debate when you stop that form of childish response.

Many more words, and I threw in some multiple syllable words so you would feel better.

Now to the crux of your mindless diatribe.

“Since then, I have upset him a number of times by beating his brains out with facts and logic arranged into real arguments. Frank now hates me, and he has always hated the thought of engaging in real discussions, as you can surmise from reading his comment below”

First of all, you have never “upset” me and you have not, as yet, used any facts and logic arrangements to “beat my brains out”. Hating you would be a very strong ASSUMPTION on your part, I dont hate someone for ignorance, I pity them. And, once again, if you will conduct yourself in an adult manner and use logic backed up by facts, then I am open to a real discussion.

Also, you are wrongfully ignorant when you assume that everyone that disagrees with you is mislead by right wing propaganda.

      • Right Brain Thinker

Frank once again misses the point by what he says in his very first paragraph. It’s not about commas and ‘readability” and word choice, Frank, although those ARE things you should consider if and when you ever get around to real “argument”. You have just demonstrated mindlessness by even mentioning those things rather than spending your energies focusing on my REAL message—-that you said nothing of significance—-that you just reacted emotionally and without logic.

After some mindless statement about “proof”, Frank proves my point about him not having a sense of humor by talking about my “Frankenstein remark”, saying, “I did not respond at all”. And that is why I said you had no sense of humor—-Flash and WTS/JAY and I, along with many others on PLD would have picked up on that and “played” with it. Others among the “viciously” mindless would have gone into hissy fits of name-calling. It went right on by you. Ergo.

You say, “I was not aware that reasonable arguments required big words, but if you need them to be comfortable, I will start using them”. “Reasonable” arguments require words that adequately convey the argument being put forward—-they don’t have to be particularly long but it IS hard to make much of a point with words that don’t exceed five letters.

Frank says, “My statement about your brain is supported by your lack of attempting to put forth any substantive personal thoughts regarding the subjects being discussed”. The lack of “substantive thought” and clear expression of anything in that statement renders it impossible to respond to.

Frank says, “I can clearly remember our last attempt at a discussion, where you claimed that two parts of the brain, which are related to emotional response, were major players in the creation of logical reasoning. I also remember that you berated me for using scientific studies, for my sources, in refuting your assertion”. For those who may have missed that exchange, I was trying to explain some things about “political” neuroscience and the psychology of political thinking to Frank, and mentioned the book, The Republican Brain, as a good source on the latest research. Frank’s response to my suggestion he read it was something like, “I will NOT read that book. I can tell from the title that it is biased”. Anyone who would make that statement has NO credibility when he talks about “thinking” or “brains” (or much of anything, now that I think about it).

What I “berated” Frank for was his reliance on popular sites like “Brains for Dummies” and “Brains’R’Us” for his information. Frank doesn’t have the background to understand the “scientific studies” he claims he used as sources anyway. He proves that by saying that I “claimed two parts of the brain related to emotional response, were major players in the creation of logical reasoning”. Only someone who is quite ignorant of brain function would have put the word CREATION in that sentence—-I never said or even implied that but Frank seems to think that it makes sense—it doesn’t..

Frank, my mainstay of rebuttal DOES lie in the area of ridicule of mindless comments (and that’s not quite the same as ridiculing mindless people), and I employ logic and factual reasoning as my main tools. You will only engage me in pertinent (?) debate when YOU “grow up” to the point that you are capable of really debating .

Frank then does a mindless DaveH and mindlessly uses the word “mindless” (seasoned with “crux” (good usage) and “diatribe” (even better usage).

Frank also says, “First of all, you have never “upset” me and you have not, as yet, used any facts and logic arrangements to “beat my brains out”. Hating you would be a very strong ASSUMPTION on your part, I don’t hate someone for ignorance, I pity them. And, once again, if you will conduct yourself in an adult manner and use logic backed up by facts, then I am open to a real discussion”.

A nice attempt at climbing on the high horse of indignation and condescension, Frank—don’t do a humpty-dumpty on us from up there. Yes, I’ll concede that “hate” was perhaps too strong a word. I will also suggest that you are doing some “whining” and “blathering” here, just like DaveH does, and that we will only engage in a “real discussion” when you discover that facts, analyzed in a rational and open-minded way, lead to opinions and supportable arguments, and that those arguments are what we stack up against each other to try to determine “truth”.

And I didn’t “upset” you? Go back and look at the exchange in which you got “red in the face” and did all your SHOUTING—-copy it all over to this thread (in its ENTIRETY) and prove me correct.

In a final demonstration of mindlessness, Frank makes an egregiously “wrongfully ignorant assumption” when he says that “I assume that everyone that disagrees with me is misled by right wing propaganda”. Lord love a duck, Frank! I’d love to know the “reasoning” behind that one and talk to you some more about it..

        • Frank Kahn

A perfect example of your mindless personal attacks instead of reason and logic will be quoted at the end of this post.

I will, if you insist, go back through every thread in which we have exchanged comments to show the insipid slander of my intelligence by you.

You take things our of context, and outright lie about the content of our discussions.

Your Frankenstein remark was a childish attempt at humor, responding to it would be an exercise in mindless banter. If you think it is some how funny or original, you might also use my last name as a childish tool and call me Genghis Khan. Your sense of humor needs a makeover.

You made a specific point of deriding me for failure to put proper punctuation in my post, and that was a valid reason to respond as I did.

You DID NOT at any time put forth that insane republican brain book as scientific.

You have never engaged in reasonable discourse with me or anyone else on this site.

You always have, and always will stoop to childish name calling and even slander and lies to forward your personal greatness(in your mind).

I dont have any scientific background? And you have studied and researched my personal education? Really, and you have studied neuroscience? You think that some author that has a politically biased opinion is going to give you good solid scientific conclusions? Do you even know and understand the scientific method?

You want to PRETEND that you have, at some time, used FACTS and REASON, in discussing a point here? Have at it, give us a link to just one post on this site that contains FACTS and REASON as opposed to DERISION and NAME CALLING. SITING A BOOK THAT YOU HAVE READ AND BELIEVE IS NOT FACTS AND REASON.

You want to get back to the argument about the function of the brain? I am still waiting for you to posit some form of factual, logical and reasonable explanation of the mystery of what you pretend to know about the brain. As of yet, you have not even tried to use science. You lied in the post I am responding to when you said you tried to discuss political neuroscience. You simply said that the republican brain would explain why those two parts of the brain that SCIENTIFICALLY are determined to be related to emotional response, have something to do with YOUR ability to reason. Do you want a contest of which one of us is telling the truth about our discussion? Do you really require that I go back and drag up your silly little ad hominem attacks, so I can post them here for everyone to see how much you lie?

If you want a good test of your ability to maintain credibility in a discussion on facts, I have an 11 year old niece that would love to have a go at it. And, that is not a slur on your mental capacity, she is just smarter than you. In fact, she is smarter than most people I know. Now, that is a FACT, it is supportable by proof in real life, it is not subject to your interpretation and you have no logical means of denying it.

It is impossible to even start a discussion with you because YOU fail in maintaining an ADULT attitude and responding with actual information as opposed to YOUR insipid little waaa waaa waaa, I’m always right, dont pick on me.

As promised, the following is a long example of your lack of facts, and use of personal attack to support your nonexistent reality.

“Frank once again misses the point by what he says in his very first paragraph. And please stop that childish and meaningless “LORD LOVE A DUCK” crap.

Sometimes it is necessary to SHOUT at an IGNORAMUS (someone who is ignorant) to get their attention, it does not indicate RED FACED (RAGE) ANGER.

      • Right Brain Thinker

Frank says, “A perfect example of your mindless personal attacks instead of reason and logic will be quoted at the end of this post”, and then copies my ENTIRE comment and posts it again for us? LORD LOVE A DUCK, Frank!—-couldn’t you have just said “Everything RBT just said is a personal attack and shows no reason or logic”? Fourteen simple words? You probably made many readers just skip right over it because it was too long. Or was that you “childish” way of saying “Everything RBT says is—-“

And you say “please stop that childish and meaningless “LORD LOVE A DUCK” crap”. Childish? Meaningless? Is that the best you can do? Why didn’t you get out your dictionary and look for some better words to use? LORD LOVE A DUCK is an expression that has been around for a hundred or more years, has been used in literature, and does have a rather “adult” meaning. I choose to use it rather than the words that define what it means—-consternation, dismay, surprise, astonishment, and perhaps even exasperation—–at hearing or seeing something that is “hard to believe”, or that is bizarre and illogical. And it’s more “fun” than using those rather formal words. (I like “snarky” too, and that’s also a word that applies to you—-you constantly attempt it but you’re not very good at it). That’s why I use LLAD and will continue to use it, particularly where you and certain other folks are concerned, and if you don’t like it, I suggest you go “love a duck”.

Frank says, “Sometimes it is necessary to SHOUT at an IGNORAMUS (someone who is ignorant) to get their attention, it does not indicate RED FACED (RAGE) ANGER”. If you say so, Frank, but you’re sounding rather “enraged” again, and it is not necessary to SHOUT to get my attention. Your problem is that YOU, in your ignorance, seem to think that I am not “paying attention” if I don’t swallow every last bit of your horsepucky or if I dare to question you. Guess what, Frank, that’s not the way it works, and I HAVE tried to “educate” you on that—-do you recall me saying “….we will only engage in a “real discussion” when you discover that facts, analyzed in a rational and open-minded way, lead to opinions and supportable arguments, and that those arguments are what we stack up against each other to try to determine “truth”? .

Frank says, “I will, if you insist, go back through every thread in which we have exchanged comments to show the insipid slander of my intelligence by you”. I don’t insist, Frank, because those exchanges are rather long and most will likely skip over them. I DID suggest once that you do so, saying to you—-“Go back and look at the exchange in which you got “red in the face” and did all your SHOUTING—-copy it all over to this thread (in its ENTIRETY) and prove me correct”. I will suggest again that you do just that if you really want anyone to believe that I was incorrect in my assessment—-go for it, post them in their ENTIRETY and show us—-let anyone who cares to spend the time look at them.. And “Insipid slander of your intelligence”? Lord love a duck!.

Frank says, “You take things our of context, and outright lie about the content of our discussions”. An unsupported opinion, Frank. That and a couple of bucks will get you a cup of coffee. I already admitted that I may have overdone it with “hate” but you will need to point out the EXACT instances in which I “took things out of context and lied about content” so that we can discuss that. Just a handful will do.

And “banter” is fun, Frank. Many of the most intelligent and well-informed people who post on PLD do it regularly. If you had a sense of humor, you might appreciate it and might be able to participate. And anyone who thinks “Genghis Khan” is more “fun” than “FrankKahnStein” is the one who needs a “sense of humor makeover”. (Although you and Ghengy Boy would probably see eye to eye on many things—-not funny things, though)

Frank says, “You made a specific point of deriding me for failure to put proper punctuation in my post, and that was a valid reason to respond as I did”. That’s only if you are oversensitive and would rather talk about “punctuation” than anything meaningful. Why do you waste our time beating that dead horse?.

Frank says to me, “You DID NOT at any time put forth that insane republican brain book as scientific” WRONG—-I did in fact mention that the book included many of the findings of the latest scientific studies—-I also mentioned that the book included a discussion of the POSITIVE aspects of the Republican (conservative) “brain”, as well as a discussion of the NEGATIVE aspects of the liberal brain. Of course, you are the one who said that you “wouldn’t read it because the title alone told you that it was biased”. Uh-huh, just as the title told you that it was “insane”, as you just stated here.

Frank tells one of those LIES that he accuses me of. “You have never engaged in reasonable discourse with me or anyone else on this site”. That’s an unsupported and rather extreme opinion, Frank. (Never?) Just because you say it doesn’t make it true and “never” is not a good word to use. Nor is “reasonable” a good word to use for a person who has never read it but rejects a book solely on its title and also calls it “insane”.

“You always have, and always will stoop to childish name calling and even slander and lies to forward your personal greatness(in your mind)”. ALWAYS have and ALWAYS will? Lord love a duck, Frank! “Personal greatness”? You ARE getting carried away, Frank. And “Always” is yet another word that one must use carefully.

“I don’t have any scientific background?” asks Frank. Sure doesn’t appear that way to me, Frank, and let me explain why. I have said several times that it is counterproductive to put our “credentials” out there, but you need to know I have two degrees, BS and MA, in science fields, have done post-MA work in science, and have owned and read many hundreds of “science” books. I also supervised high school science departments of 10 or 15 teachers for over 20 years, and have sat in and observed many hundreds (perhaps thousands) of science classes as part of the teacher evaluation process. I know “science” when I see it and know those who know science when I observe them. You are not a particularly “dumb” person, Frank, but you are a “looker upper” as far as the science knowledge you have shown me so far—that is certainly true in the field of neuroscience and political psychology

Frank asks, “And you have studied and researched my personal education?” Of course not, Frank—-how about telling us about it? I have revealed much about myself through my comments on various PLD threads, as have some others like deerinwater. Who are you and what’s your “background”?

Frank also asks, “And you have studied neuroscience?” Yes I have, Frank—-not at the level of BEING a neuroscientist, but at the level of a well-educated layman. And he adds, “You think that some author that has a politically biased opinion is going to give you good solid scientific conclusions?” Frank again shows us the power of his intellect by presuming that the author of a book HE HAS NOT READ offers nothing but “politically biased opinion” and is not capable of arriving at “good” conclusions.

“Do you even know and understand the scientific method? Dumb question, Frank—-it is self evident that I do (and you don’t, except in a way that makes me believe you looked it up too)

Frank is beginning to SHOUT and is making less sense—-is he getting upset? He says, “You want to PRETEND that you have, at some time, used FACTS and REASON, in discussing a point here? Have at it, give us a link to just one post on this site that contains FACTS and REASON as opposed to DERISION and NAME CALLING. SITING A BOOK THAT YOU HAVE READ AND BELIEVE IS NOT FACTS AND REASON”. I can’t really respond to that because it doesn’t make sense, particularly at the end where he is really shouting—try again, Frank—-calm down (you know I don’t upset you—you said so) and say something I can respond to.

Frank is not shouting here, but he is apparently still upset enough that he is making little sense. He says, “You want to get back to the argument about the function of the brain? I am still waiting for you to posit some form of factual, logical and reasonable explanation of the mystery of what you pretend to know about the brain. As of yet, you have not even tried to use science. You lied in the post I am responding to when you said you tried to discuss political neuroscience. You simply said that the republican brain would explain why those two parts of the brain that SCIENTIFICALLY are determined to be related to emotional response, have something to do with YOUR ability to reason. Do you want a contest of which one of us is telling the truth about our discussion? Do you really require that I go back and drag up your silly little ad hominem attacks, so I can post them here for everyone to see how much you lie?”
There is so much confusion and self-delusion in that paragraph that I don’t even know where to begin. Frank talks about wanting to continue the “brain discussion” (which he is not equipped to pursue) out of one side of his mouth and then talks out of the other side about “dragging up my silly little ad hominem attacks”, all in the context of a “contest”. So I have to just say “go for it, Frank—-do “all of the above” and “show us”. Maybe then we can figure out what you are talking about.

And DO remember that what you said here is untrue—“RBT simply said that the republican brain would explain why those two parts of the brain that SCIENTIFICALLY are determined to be related to emotional response, have something to do with YOUR ability to reason” and I have already told you that I never said that—-be sure to find that for us..

And Frank’s comments about his 11 year old niece and ADULT attitudes are worthy of nothing more than a “Lord love a duck!”

“Now, that is a FACT, it is supportable by proof in real life, it is not subject to your interpretation and you have no logical means of denying it’. DITTO!

“It is impossible to even start a discussion with you because YOU fail in maintaining an ADULT attitude. and responding with actual information as opposed to YOUR insipid little waaa waaa waaa, I’m always right, don’t pick on me”. DOUBLE DITTO!

(And remember, any of you who waste the time to read all this, I DON’T upset Frank—-he says so and therefore it MUST be true)

I feel your anger, Don. The reverse parallel universe of this piece takes a purely Republican position and tacks it onto Dems; a real knee slapper that has gotten surprisingly wide support on some of these threads.
JAY’s treatment of FTAs is fairly level and all but points out that it was a Bush Sr. Bill that came up for a vote during Clinton’s term in office. But he fails to mention that Clinton had a tough job of convincing a reticent majority in the House and Senate to vote for the bill that was overwhelmingly favored by the Republicans. So I’m having a hard time figuring out why he begins his post berating you when his thrust supports your claim with the facts he cites…

The WTO has many “New World Order” conspiracy theorists out there concerned that it is a cover for the IMF and World Bank that will work to redistribute the fabulous wealth of the mighty USA to the rest of the world through the vehicle of “free trade” and simultaneously cool the jets of such a strident, renegade nation like the USA with ideas of sovereignty and independence, and knock it down a few pegs, bringing it into line for subjugation throught finance…

OK, Wayne. I get it. You and Libertarians and tea partiers oppose Obama. Where do
you stand on social issues such as prayer in public schools, teaching the biblical
account of creation in the public schools, legalized abortion, posting the 10 commandments and other religious stuff in public government areas?
What is the libertarian/tea party agenda for America if given control of the executive
and legislative branches of the U.S. government? What would change in the Federal
Register, in the Federal Budget, in the U.S. Tax Code, in our defense and diplomatic
policies, in our federal government spending, immigration, criminal code and punishment,
judicial administration? What is America as libertarians/tea partiers like it?

This is what I have been saying all the time—-Obama is trying to destroy America. These people can’t get their eyes open to what is going on. Obama, is always surrounding himself with people that are against everything America is about. People that want to destroy our military. Other countries are building strong militaries while ours are being taking down. I am not talking about Republican or Democrat. Just listen to what Obama is saying. He goes against the constitution. You people had better wake up!!!

It really doesn’t matter when this anti-republic action started or who is continuing to support and promote the downhill slide of the respectibility for Americans to work for what they have. It’s shameful for any able-bodied American to want handouts and not want to work for an honest living. The man in the driver’s seat (Oval Office) and his support group are encouraging lazy Americans by continuing to give those individuals a more comfortable life if they’ll just stay home and draw their government checks. There’s no sense of worth to that lifestyle.

I would guess that there are a whole lot more people out there that would rather have a decent paying job, than to get welfare from the government. Big business only wants to pay upper level management. They want to pay workers as little as they can. Government takes the blame to, for letting them do it. Lower my tax rates Big business say’s we are job creaters, never mind that half of them are overseas. Business gets tax breaks to move a business into a community, then the people that work for them end up paying for it with their income tax. This country was a whole lot better off when business supplied over 50% of the federal revenue, and workers income tax paid the rest. Now Business pays less than 9% while we workers bees fork it over,, and then government borrows the rest. There are over a hundred fortune 500 companies that pay no income tax. General Electric for example. income over $26 Billion. income tax zero$ Talk about Welfare. That’s the problem, the income divide has not been this large since the 1920′s Just before the Great Depression.

Obama teams up with big business to destroy middle class?

Mr. Root, no disrespect intended, but the game was rigged and set-up, and laid-out, long before Obama arrived! He’s just playing the cards he was dealt, and playing the game, may i add, with remarkable proficiency!

I find it quite remarkable, however, that with all the information available to us, via the most stupendous mode available to us with which to fetter-out the truth/facts, that being; the “Internet”, that some still, attempt to make the idiotic claim that it is primarily one parties’ fault, or the most outlandish claim of all; one person’s fault! How can that be, Mr. Root, when “the evidence” clearly suggests otherwise? Is it any wonder then, that you, or any other, who assert, lay blame to a single entity/party, are the recipients of so much vitriol? Have we not all expressed disgust at the unbalanced reporting by the “Alphabet” media; also expressed, the need to tell/expose the truth no matter how much it hurts, or however embarrassing? Well then, why not start now…why not here? Let’s be an example…

I’ll start; BOTH parties were/are complicit, and worked/work hand-in-glove to destroy America for the purpose of bringing Her into a “Globalist-system”! A system, btw, that was long in the planning and engineering stages, and would not, and cannot be made possible unless, all, who govern through the “political-system are in harmonious-agreement!!!!!

Crickets chirping… Maybe they’ve moved on to the latest PLD piece. Good post.

    • Right Brain Thinker

I’ll second matforce and also say “Good one, JAY”—-and SHORT, too. Did you really mean to say “fetter out” rather than “ferret out”? Since you (and I) are always going on about the chains they want to put us in, “fetter” works too. LOL

      • YeahURight!

Lord Love a Duck, RBT. You are a moron.

      • Right Brain Thinker

Hey, YeahURight! Glad to see you like the “Lord Love a Duck” saying. You may be the only one who has used it besides me (properly, at any rate). As I said in another comment somewhere, it’s more “fun” to say that than using the rather formal words that define what it means.

Speaking of definitions, are you calling me a moron over the “fetters–ferrets” thing that JAY said—-as in “with which to fetter-out the truth/facts?” I suspect that it was a typo but there’s a small chance that JAY may have been playing with words and doing it deliberately, as many of us on PLD do for fun.

Have you read many of WTS/JAY’s comments and mine and do you know what it is that we agree on that prompted my comment? Did you look up “fetter”?—–it means “chains” (and I will refrain from calling you a moron until you post several more moronic comments—I try not to be overly “snarky”—-that’s another word I love).

The right objects to the left and the left objects to the right. That they are simply two “wings” of the same political party, vying for power and control of the same entity, gets lost in the dust-cloud raised by all their foot shuffling while shifting positions to accommodate the current political winds!

There is no “conservative” party in America, and that includes Libertarians who also oppose much of what the federal constitution DOES allow, and often endorses.

The 2nd Amendment was written to apply to the federal government ONLY! All of the Bill of Rights was designed as a “CHECK” on the new federal government, and without those first ten amendments the constitution would never have been adopted and there would have been no United States of America. When we started letting “COURTS” interpret what that document says and decide who it applies to (there is no such constitutional authority), we lost our “Constitutional Republic” and we may never be able to get it back. Sorry, but that’s a sad fact, and it got serious in the late 1800′s.

Mr. Root is, of course, a bit off target but only because he buys into the “left-right” paradigm, not because he doesn’t have the facts on his side. It’s only his interpretation of those facts that is skewed by his own viewpoint.

Folks, we’ve already been had, and it will probably take a new “Revolution” to fix the problem. A civil war won’t work because there are two, entirely different points of view at work, so the only good solution is to divide our country into at least two separate countries. “The People” can then choose which they agree with and move there, or not, as the case may be.

Personally, I choose the “your on your own” side of the equation, where “government” is responsible for nothing but major infrastructure and common defense, with only “certain fees” designated for its use to accomplish the few tasks it is assigned. No “new tasks” could ever be assigned to that government unless “ALL” the member States agree, and no “lawyer” is allowed to hold public office at any federal level.

Obama is right. The constitution is a document supporting “NEGATIVES,” just exactly as it was designed to be. It’s supposed to “LIMIT” (not enable) the federal government, and he swore an oath to DEFEND that document, whether or not he now wants to admit it. It’s time for him to get with the program and do his job…

Oboma must be a Libertarian… Letting You Write such Trash… You, must be a Social dillard, for your ignorance & lack of wisdom & Knowledge.

In the 60′s anti-whites forced ALL and ONLY white countries to open their borders to non-white immigration. Then anti-whites forced ALL and ONLY white people to “integrate” or face penalties for being “naziswhowantokill6millionjews.” Now anti-whites are counting down the days for when ALL and ONLY white children become minorities and eventually extinct EVERYWHERE. It’s Genocide. “Anti-racist” is a codeword for anti-white.

  • Bob666

“W” did far more damage to the middle class than Obama could ever hope to do.

  • Jim B

Can’t be fixed, too much pain and misery will come from it, so we stay the course until oblivion is inevitable. The government is desperate, and a desperate government is a dangerous thing. History has proven so over and over and over again…. No exceptions!

  • Aware

Wayne Allyn Root at it again. Distorts the truth by replacing Obama instead of Republican party, GOP, Mitt, and all the other losers of the past election.
