Obama On Romney: ‘It’s Like Robin Hood In Reverse’

Obama On Romney: ‘It’s Like Robin Hood In Reverse’
UPI
Does Mitt Romney want to take from the poor to give to the rich?

At a fundraising stop in Connecticut on Monday, President Barack Obama compared Mitt Romney to everyone’s favorite green-tight-wearing, bow-carrying fictional character—Robin Hood. The speech was attended by hundreds of Obama supporters who each paid $500 to attend the event.

In regards to Romney’s philosophy of extending tax cuts on the wealthy, Obama remarked, “It’s like Robin Hood in reverse. It’s Romney Hood,” reported POLITCO.

Obama alluded to another fictional character in a scathing rebuke of Romney’s economic ideology. “They have tried to sell us this trickle-down, tax-cut fairy dust before. And guess what? It does not work. It didn’t work then, it won’t work now. It’s not a plan to create jobs, it’s not a plan to reduce our deficit, and it is not a plan to move our economy forward.”

However, there is no evidence that Robin Hood’s deceitful tactics improved the economy of Nottingham.

Just what we need…4 more years of trickle-up poverty from the great equalizer of humanity, and continued joblessness and no economic recovery, all the while digging us into debt we’ll never recover from. WTG, Flex Obummer!

  • http://www.facebook.com/lance.hottrod Lance Hottrod

I was doing fine until O’bummer got in office, then everything went to hell!

    • Norm

Actually Lance, the s**t hit the fan in October of 2008, before Obama was elected. The stock market bottomed around April of 2009 and has been on a slow but fairly steady rise since.
      Stick to the facts!

      • Dale left coast

Seem to remember a bit about a housing bubble Norm . . . cause by your buddy Billy . . . Comm. Reinvestment Act 1993 . . . created the bubble, which burst in late 2007 . . . Bush in fact tried to stop the scam . . . but Bawney and Dodd with other clueless dems fought to keep the nonsense on track. Fanny and Freddie bundled the worthless mortgages into Derivatives and Wall Street sold them . . . the dimmicraps crashed the economy . . . and the Bamster is finishing the job . . . almost 6 TRILLION in spending in less than 4 years . . . good bye USA . . .

      • Norm

        DALE
        I disagree.
Part of the housing bubble was caused by Greenspan and the FED keeping interest rates too low for too long to comp for the Bush recessions.
When housing prices began to rise due to super low interest rates, banks and mortgage companies got creative and greedy. “Let your increased equity pay for the house you can’t afford” became the rule. Interest rates finally rose, house prices fell and TADA.

      • Paul Wells

        Dale & Norm,
Taken together, both of your ideas are almost right, both insanely artificially low interest rates, and Bill’s idea of “everyone should own a house, even if their credit is less than spotless” contributed. But add in the greedy Wall street crowd, who teamed up with bankers to create these super margined, junk derivatives composed of C- mortgages, and the atmosphere was ripe for a melt down. Chris Dodd and fat Barney Frank did more than anyone to insure that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac would implode, by insuring no regulation of their operation. Of course, it’s just bad D.C. form to regulate some of your biggest campaign contributors, and probably should be noted that both FM’s contributed nicely to flex Obummers campaign as well. So when you take that toxic corruption soup mixture, and stir it until it explodes…yes, housing melt down. Recent economics lesson NOT LEARNED, and may in fact be repeated in the future!

Lets look at it this way. We may not have the president that we wamt but the a– holes that we have in congress have to go. Unless we want to land up like Italy and those other nations. It has to be their way or no way at all even if they sell us out to another country

      • s c

Comrade ‘nerm,’ I’d like to thank your prez for using a classic example of psychological transference. It’s a great way of accusing someone else of what you’re doing yourself. In effect, the prez has outed one of his “open administration” techniques.
Thanks, prez. I knew you had it in you. Sadly, it took almost 4 years and another campaign to bring it out into the open.
You sure can pick em, Comrade ‘nerm.’

      • Flashy

Y’all aren’t too familiar with the Community Reinvestment Act are you? It had, quite literally, nothing to do with the housing bubble. no one forced the banks to lend. there was no gun to their head.

The CRA is legislation that states banks have to report what deposits they took in from a certain community/neighborhood…and how much they lent to the very same. That’s it. And if the ratio is skewed, then they may have to face fines or even forced to reach out to find suitable businesses or residents to invest in. However, the CRA , AND THE FDIC OR ANY OTHER GOVERNMENT AGENCY, stated that banks and lenders had to alter their lending guidelines by government edict.

Anyone whom says the CRA is different and forced lenders to lend is lowin’ smoke and knows not what they speak of. Ask any Compliance Dept of any bank…or..gasp…read the legislation …

Also, go ahead and search. let me know if you find any regulation or legislation which forced banks to lower their lending guidelines to make bad loans.

        Jeesh

Norm: The shiX hit the fan in 2006 Bush and the Democrat Congress (Reid And Pelosi). Then, 4 years of Obamas unprecedented government wasteful spending yielding a 1.5% growth. (3 to 4 % is healthy) You say, “Slow and steady rise”… you must be speaking of the water rising around a sinking the ship of state.

      • http://yahoo gator

and who may i ask was in control of congress in 2007? the d’s.

    • Winddrinker

Lance, I certainly agree with that. My business has taken a big “hit” since 2008. Many people I know said that they would have to close their doors if obumscum was elected.
Many business owners knew what was about to be unleashed on the country..

Our business hadn’t been the same since 911, actually. Then, around 2005, it began to recover, then along came the last two years of the Bush administration where he began to do very “weird things” to the country. Then, it just got worse with the 2008 election.

      • Phil

Was it because of the office of the presidency – or perhaps a change in another branch in government caused a stumble in the economy? Lately we have been electing in obstructionists for the sole purpose of obstruction. Democrats come out in droves to elect people to obstruct Republicans, then Republicans come out in droves to elect people to obstruct Democrats. As a nation we have lost balance.

      • carrobin

Sure, President McCain and VP Palin would have had the whole economy on its feet and paid off the national debt and resolved the mortgage crisis by now! Not…..

    • macgyver1948

Lance… There were a lot of people that are and have been hurting since before Obama. For those who were doing well before as you, and then lost it when Obama took office then maybe you did your own falling or maybe you lost your job because of lay-offs. Wait, that can’t be if you are a TEA/GOP supporter because you would know your being unemployed because of lay-offs or whatever has to be your fault. What ever caused your fall good luck and work/learn in school or whatever to lift your economic status.

  • http://www.facebook.com/gregbeaty Greg T Beaty

Any person or business that is rewarded for the hard work they do will rinse and repeat. Offering lower taxes is a reward and therefore will create jobs and in return produce more taxable income. It not rocket science people.

    • Flashy

      Greg…

Time to step back and think. We hit the worst recession this nation ever suffered from, we barely by the skin of our teeth, thanks to this President taking some bold immediate steps, veered away from a Depression. Tax rates are now at the lowest levels the past 50 years. Growth of the federal budget is the lowest the past 50 years. Job growth in the private sector for 30 straight months, Employment in government is down from when Pres. Obama took office.

The one constant anyone could forecast the past four years, the one constant that can be relied upon in the near future, is that if there is any policy or law or proposal that does not benefit the wealthy or Big Corporation, the GOP is against it. Helps small business? Helps the Middle Class? Strengthens this Nation’s security? Attacks major issues such as immigration, etc? If it does not have a significant benefit to the wealthy or Big Corporations….the GOP is against it.

Anyone voting GOP this year…unless you are wealthy or in the upper echelons of Big Corporate America? you are cutting your own throat and that of this nation. There is no doubt, no debate, no question.

Take a gander at this and think about it….

      • Patriot1776

Flashy, don’t hurt yourself stepping back to think. Yes, this “president” stepped into a bad recession. However, the rest of your statements don’t add up. You may claim that “Tax rates are now at the lowest levels the past 50 years.” But once obama’s “policies and edicts” hit with the obamacare nightmare taxation and “taxmagedon” ending the Bush tax cuts. You also repeat the administration’s propaganda that the “Growth of the federal budget is the lowest the past 50 years.” Yet the deficit has grown exponetially. You also repeat the claim that we have had “Job growth in the private sector for 30 straight months”, yet unemployment remains over 8% even using the falsified administration data. And, finally, you repeat the claim that “Employment in government is down from when Pres. Obama took office.”; where is the data? This, of course doesn’t include the growth in the IRS to administer the obamacare tax burden, the growth of the economy killing EPA to eliminate low cost electricity, or the number of czars appointed to cater to the self-annointed one and their staffs.

Obama has done nothing to help the middle class, he has added to the burden on middle class by killing job creation through obamacare and the EPA. He has added to the burden on the middle class by forcing his green agenda, using the corn supply for ethanol production, driving up the cost of food. He has added to the burden by his unlimited deficit spending for stimulus that added nothing to the economy other than to line the pockets of his cronies and wasting tax dollars by pumping them into failed businesses for them to file bankruptcy.

I’m not wealthy. With obama in office, I don’t have an opportunity to get there. Voting GOP may be cutting my own throat, but to vote for obama is to doom this nation leaving behind a legacy of government servitude for my children and grandchildren. I will take my chances for freedom’s cause rather than submission to aristocratic government domination.

      • http://www.facebook.com/CoachKaterina Katerina Gasset

So you want us to believe some opinion writer for the Washington Post??? REALLY??? that is all opinion, no fact. Why would you believe what the mainstream media writes or reports on? Both parties get paid by big corporations and big business. Until we go back to real free market and real capitalism nothing will change. TANSTAAFL. There ain’t no such thing as a free lunch. When you play with the law of economics it will come back to bite you. We have to get rid of our debt and even if you taxed the rich at 99% you still could not get rid of the debt. The class warfare argument is evil and a lie. I don’t know anyone who is getting a job from a poor person. My business has been very effected by Obama’s policies. But more important- it is about our individual liberties. Money and jobs is the smoke and mirrors- it is the laws they pass while you are not looking that do the most damage to our individual freedoms and liberties. The democratic party has been hijacked by the socialists and for that reason, may dems are leaving the party. There are those who sign the paychecks on the front and those who sign them on the back. For those of us who run businesses and hire people, we want government to get out of our way so that we ourselves can improve this economy. Government has no place in that.

      • mfrad17

Have you forgotten about the 4+ trillion dollar debt that our children and grandchildren have inherited? He is setting us up for hyperinflation, with the growing debt and the way he is devaluing the american dollar, it’s just a matter of time. So you think that the huge debt that we accepted for (infrastructure) projects was a good idea. I don’t know about you, but in my neck of the woods, all of that money was spent on projects that lasted for 6 months. Maybe it’s just me, but instead of putting ourself in deeper debt for jobs that are only seasonal, how about creating jobs that are sustained jobs. All of the people that went to work for road/bridge projects are now standing in the unemployment line again……..great idea Mr President. If only the jobs would have lasted as long as the debt payments for the projects did. Besides, we know what we have had for the past 3+ years, and it’s enough for me, Mr. Obama needs to vacate the oval office. If we thought he was bad for his first term, a second term would be even worse. He wouldn’t care about being held accountable for anything, it’s not like he would be running for president again. I shouldn’t say that, he will probably make himself supreme ruler of the world.

      • Flashy

Folks..sit back and take a dose of reality. the deficits we are saddled with are the result of three presidencies. Reagan, Bush I and Bush II. Those were the administrations that sold the false god to you that cutting taxes to the wealthy would create jobs and failed to mention the “trickle down’ was akin to being urinated on.

Take a gander at the numbers…don’t believe what the hype is from the GOP OR from the Dems. the opinion Article from the Post is a starter..and gives sources which you can verify the statements. Think…use your frippin’ brains !

The last two years has seen the least productive Congress in history. By far. Not even close (yes..that can also be verified). Any legislation that benefits us … the ones outside the 15 and not a Big Corporation, has been stalled and killed by the GOP. Every single one.

You blame Pres. Obama for the GOP killing any help? Romney can’t be specific in his criticisms without lyin’ through his teeth. No GOP policy can be legitimized without being lied about to enhance fairy tale aspects and hide the reality.

Dang…the lights go out when y’all fall for the TP trilogy.

Take the latest. First, the Welfare Waiver policy announced by the administration and which the GOP (and Romney) are claiming is welfare without work. BS. Total 100% BS. The waiver is set up for the States to take control and adopt specific state identities in the program. fact is, waivers won’t be granted UNLESS the state can how it improves employment of welfare recipients by 20% above the current Welfare to work policy.

So now the GOP is against welfare to work and against state rights and control.

Or how bout the Cybersecurity bill the GOP just killed in the Senate. because….yep, it created VOLUNTARY standards for big industry operating or vital infrastructure such as electricity, banking, etc. Voluntary..and the only lobbies against it were…yep, the lobbies for Big Corporate America. That and the GOP wanted to attach restrictive abortion language as a rider…to a cybersecurity bill. In other words, the GOP is placing this nation in a lesser place of security to appease Big Corporate America and the American Taliban. Doesnt matter if every law enforcement and military expert backed the need for increased security of our nation’s vital infrastructure…

        Dang…THINK !

Obama not anyone-else made bad decisions that deepened the depression and caused the American working people more grief due to his poor decisions. He need to go it is that simple. If Obama was working as a CEO of a corporation he would have had his walking papers long ago.

      • Paul Wells

But…but….but…Bush! (note Flashy’s quivering lower lip, when he says that!)

    • Norm

      1. Most family incomes above $250K are not small businesses or job creators.
      2. The Bush tax cuts have been in place for more than 10 years – Where are the jobs?
      3. The Bush tax cuts produced huge federal deficits.
      4. Taxes were higher during the Clinton years and employment was full and deficits nearly vanished.
      5. The trickle down BS is class warfare initiated by the very rich.

      • Dale left coast

Norm – Obammy and the dimmicraps spending has produced the largest increase in federal debt in the shortest time EVER . . . almost 6 TRILLION in less than 4 years . . . and you lefty-loons want to blame Bush . . . he’s been gone almost 4 years . . . he added 4 Trillion in 8 years . . . while the incompetent Kenyan has done 50% more in less than 4.

      • Norm

        Dale
When Obama took office this country was on the brink of total disaster. Major banks ant corporations were in danger of collapse. If Bush and Obama hadn’t kicked in the cash there would have been a great depression part 2.

      • Pathfinder

Norm: Tax cuts did not cause the problem. Out Of control spending under Bush with a DEMOCRAT CONGRESS (2006) and Obamas/Democrat Insane spending (200Thru 2012) PLUS Obamacare’s (PELOSI: “We will see whats in the bill after we pass it”) scared that crap out of every business owner and are only the tip of the iceberg. Almost 6 years of democrat rule and look what your future holds. Anybody that that thinks Obama is the answer has no idea of what Obamas “Fundamentally Changing America” means.

        • http://www.facebook.com/gregbeaty Greg T Beaty

I say you are correct… If Obama gets re-elected we will not have to worry about Immigrates no one will want to live here. They will all go home and leave us with the mess. Perhaps I will follow them…

      • Steve

The Congress and Senate makes the law, the president signs the law and then takes the blame forever. That must be how he can go from a no one “community organizer” who never had a real job to a 12 million dollar man on just a 200 k salary a year.

Government spending more than they have coming in creates the deficits. Every time the vote comes down to keep the government going and blow the budget creates more deficits.

Works the same way it does at home. Putting it on the card creates a deficit. Difference is you do that and you have to pay it back from your own work.

I want to get this straight here, so what you are saying is you are a big spender of someone else’s money, and that’s ok.

        Got it.

“Rewarding” people and businesses with lower taxes will make them create jobs? Why was the economy so much better in the 1950s and ’60s when taxes were much higher and the gap between the rich and the middle class was so much smaller? Your “rocket science” won’t fly. (How many jobs has Romney created, by the way? Same number as he’s caused to vanish, more or less?)

      • Pathfinder

Here is your answer: The WWII generation. Understand that America was the only nation in a position to provide the supplies, products, equipment and so on to rebuild virtually every country destroyed during the war.The WWII Gen built an economy like the world has never seen and resulted in America becoming the only Superpower. The people prospered as did the government because the world wide demand was there up to about the mid 60′s. After that other countries like Japan became competitors using newly constructed manufacturing plants while the US was churning out products in WWII era facilities and thus lower taxes ( initiated by JF Kennedy Democrat) to stimulate private investment.
How many jobs did “Romney” ( Bane Capital) Create? Obviously, many, many more than than the Obama stimulus. Bane, with an 80% “turn around success rate” providers more per capita PRIVATE sector jobs that the government. Government can not, and does not, create PRIVATE sector jobs. However, the Government can do very well in creating PUBLIC sector jobs but here in lies the rub. It is the private sector that pays for public sector job holders. Further, public sector job holders earn 30% more on average than the private sector counter parts. Thank you to “out of control government spending” plus the interest on the national debt, private sector jobs and taxes can no longer support the bloated spending and interest on the debt. Non essential spending must be cut. And, the economy must be turned lose; stimulated by PRIVATE INVESTMENT( thats non tax payer dollars). And, the government is NOT entitled to the lions share of the private investment profits because when that happens you have” economic slavery”. Now if you think the Government is the answer, you may be sadly mistaken. Government is the problem because most of our career politicians have never held responsible private sector jobs. This holds true for our president who has demonstrated on numerous occasions that he has no idea of how the private sector functions or indeed contributes to ” governmental welfare” . I hope this answers your questions.

I’m not very eloquent, but Obama has it all wrong when he talks about Robin Hood. Robin Hood took back what the government had taken/stolen—liberty, properties, money, etc.– away from the people. Robin Hood was not a thief, nor a robber, he only took back what the government had taken away, illegally, from its people, and Robin returned it to the people. Robin Hood never enriched himself, every penny went back to the people. Robin Hood was a hero, and we need a real Robin Hood in the White House, who will return to the people what has been taken away from them, especially our liberty. The White House is currently the “King” and “Earl of Nottingham”, and we need to take back what the White House has taken away from us. I want my liberty back!

    • Vigilant

I can think of a number of fictional characters to describe Obama. How ’bout The Pied Piper? Perhaps Dickens’ The Artful Dodger. Maybe Casanova, who wants to screw everyone. Or Tristram Shandy, who could never get his act together.

A blood-sucking Dracula seems appropriate, or perhaps Lenny in Steinbeck’s “Of Mice and Men,” who’s too stupid to understand the damage he does.

Not fictional, but Cromwell in “A Man for All Seasons,” who bent the law and lied at every turn to suit his thirst for power.

Shylock in “The Merchant of Venice” who found out too late you can’t extract that pound of flesh without killing the victim.

Others come to mind: Dr. Evil, Frankenstein’s monster, Simon Legree (who would enslave us all), Don Corleone, or Orwell’s Big Brother.

      Any other offerings?

Except this is Romneyhood and this works by increasing the middle class taxes in order to give tax cuts to himself and others. The government will still get their money it will just be everyone else paying for upper income tax breaks. Now that is a deal I can live without.

      • Rich Armstrong

Would you please show me one iota of evidence to back up the claim that Romney wants to increase taxes on the middle class or plans a tax break for the wealthy….and no, quoting an Obama ad does not equal proof. It’s the incumbent that is proposing tax increases in both income taxes and indirect taxes, many of which are being levied through businesses both large and small. Think of the mandates built into the healthcare bill, the government suing a private company [Boeing] for trying to open a facility in a right to work state and hiring thousands if new IRS agents whose job is to badger small businesses about the technicalities in the new laws. There are 25 million small businesses in the US [businesses of 100 or less EEs]. Many of these havbe less than 10 EEs, no HR department other than the owner amd his spouse and they struggle to survive every year and aren’t making more than a living out of their efforts. That’s the largest employer pool in this country, and they are the ones who have the greatest chance to lose under this administration. Obama isn’t going after big business or the millionaires – who do you think attends the $25,000 to $35,000 a plate dinners. He’s killing the small entrepeneurs and isn’t smart enough to realize it.

obama keeps saying that “trickle down economics” doesn’t work, that the free market doesn’t work, that our capitalistic system is eliminating the middle class…then why is it that this great nation even has a middle class? Why is it that this great nation went from a wilderness frontier to the most technologically advanced super power in the world in two hundred years, far surpassing any other society in their thousands of years of existence? The only part of our system that doesn’t work is the socialist government programs that suck all of the money out of the economy and reward obama’s cronys.

    • Flashy

“obama keeps saying that “trickle down economics” doesn’t work, that the free market doesn’t work, that our capitalistic system is eliminating the middle class”

What are you smoking ??? you are correct in pres. Obama stating the fact Trickle Down doesn’t work except to enrich the already rich at the expense of the Middle Class. The other two you cite …. it’s obvious you have swallowed the lines of the TP/American Taliban … ’cause they simply are not factual.

      • Patriot1776

So inspite of all that this nation has accomplished in it’s 236 year history, you and obama claim our system doesn’t work? You think it makes better sense to pump money into the hands of poor people, because they will cause jobs to be created by generating demand? Really? Your theories have worked so well in Russia, France, Greece…I know, with the great obama it would be different. If those terrible republicans would just get out of his way, he could fix it, he has the knowledge, he is the great one…

      • Flashy

Patriot…I said no such thing. I pointed out that trickle down doesn’t work. oproven fact which has done little but entrench the wealth into fewer hands and create HUGE deificts year after year.

Using tax policy as a basis for a complete economic plan never has worked. It may be in targeted policies to encourage or discourage certain investment or action…but not as an overall policy assuming the wealthy care a whit about anything but stashing the cash and living off the welfare system created by Reagan for them.

In theory, taxes should be used mainly to take in that which is needed to give to the nation and society those benefits a modern, advanced nation should give its citizenry. A second area for taxes would be to encourage/facilitate growth in certain sectors or to inhibit action (i.e. GM, AIG, Bailouts, Green energy and infrastucture, and sin taxes…)

    • Paul Wells

Gee, trickle up poverty works just fine, though! See?

      • Smilee

Poverty does trickle up in a trickle down type of economy and is the reason why that has happened the last 30 years and is the cause of it.

Just more lies, deceit, misdirection, and outright dishonesty by Obama and crew. These people, Obama, Harry, and Pelosi will do ANYTHING to retain power and control. My hope is that the American people see thru this crap.

That is an awesome thought Ray,

That people will see anything but what they want to see.
But dont look for that to happen until it is too late for redemption.Historically it has NEVER happened, and dont look for the supposed “uber intelligencia”,(trained by their marxist handlers),to see anything but the walls of their posteriors.
These people actually believe they are part of a vanguard of modern philosophy.
Have you ever heard of the ARB(Air Resources Board)of Caliph-own-ya?
The head of this organization is a person named Mary Nichols.
Has anyone here on this blog ever heard that name?
It is one you should bookmark.

Details of her fateful plans I will leave it for you all to discover……but do your homework!
This is the type of character we are confronted with during this nations darkest hours.
This is the kind of spending our progressive leaders have in mind for you.
Keep in mind the intelligencia adore this woman.
      But what do I know?
      Apparenly very little……

Well, let’s see now, Ray. With the lame-stream media fawning over their narcissistic master, failing to find it odd that there is about an 18 year gap (with apologies to Nixon’s 18 minute gap) there for which you can’t find any evidence that Flex Obama even occupied the planet, and incessant drooling over X Factor, American Idol, and anything else that appeals to individuals with an attention span of less than 30 seconds, I wouldn’t think the prospects are good. I’m just about convinced that the liberal brainwashing that media outlets have been conducting for the last 30 years or so, is just about complete, and most American’s no longer care to find out what the truth is. Sorry to be a downer, but if you are expecting people to see what a POS they have in the White House, don’t count on it! Leftist agenda: Nearly complete!

  • Gear4War

I am holding my own financially so I can look around with an objective viewpoint. I have a job and still make a good living. Objectively I can state that Obama is the worst leader in my lifetime. Inept, incompetent, ineffective and the most blatantly divisive person in leadership I have ever seen. He has ruined our financial status as a nation. He continues to increase the nation’s debt by roughly a trillion dollars a year. More of my fellow citizens on foodstamps than ever in our history. Even Jimmy Carter looks like Churchill next to this buffoon. Romney may not be my choice based on his somewhat liberal tendencies as the governor of Massachusetts but I’ll take a chance that he might have changed into a more conservative leader. He certainly has greater knowledge of economics and a track record of success in business. Compare the two and you get a choice…continued failure or a chance that we can restore American prosperity. I’m hoping people can look down the road and see there really isn’t a choice to make here. Romney is the only good chance this nation has to rebound to prosperity.

    • eddie47d

Seems like Sheriff of Nottingham would be a very appropriate name for Romney. Considering how many companies he swept in and cannibalized at a huge profit. Ask the “serfs” who lost their jobs how wonderful Sheriff Romney was. I doubt if the real Sheriff was kind and benevolent either and only added to his castles fortunes. Then again he didn’t have any off shore accounts in which to hide his loot.

      • Patriot1776

I would rather have a successful capitalist as our President than a lying, socialistic community organizer. The President of the country should at least love the country and appreciate the things that made it great. We don’t have that now.

      • eddie47d

I don’t think anyone deserves that much money off of bad deals as Romney has done. He believes in free enterprise and America alright for he made his fortunes in unscrupulous ways. It may be legal but very unethical. There may not be much choice come November but it surely isn’t Romney either.

      • Patriot1776

eddie, is that just jealousy, because you can’t achieve what he did? You don’t think anyone “deserves” that kind of money? Who are you to judge what someone else’s work is worth? He did the job, he got the pay, he deserves what he earned.

No wonder Capitalism is so corrupted when Patriot comes to Romney’s defense over money. I see nowhere where he earned his money. I didn’t say he can’t be wealthy it’s how you arrive at getting that wealth. A difference you can’t seem to comprehend.

Really Greg, Can you show articles on that? I can show you how Romney disrespects “Freedom Of Religion ” unless it conforms with his beliefs. Arianna Huffington has long been a vocal member of the Democratic Party (although she happens to be a former Republican) and her news, opinion and entertainment site, The Huffington Post, is often criticized for allegations that its coverage has a left-wing bias.

Show me what you feel is wrong with Obama and I will share more of my Romney stuff. I will start with the below. Just remember I strongly feel TEA stuff is heavily based in hate for Obama and what they present is riddled in hate based out-of-context stuff as well as a lot they make up. Just so you remember where I am coming from concerning TEA credibility.. I could show you why I feel this way about TEA… Please ask if you want my notes I gathered researching the top of TEA. I do believe the rank and file of TEA believe TEA is what they claim but I do not think they know the real TEA.

From an email I received today but I have seen these sources before today.

            Dear MoveOn Member,

Mitt Romney has a creepy hand. We mean that literally—and we made an ad you’re not gonna forget that shows his hand creeping into OUR pockets. Because to pay for tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires, he’s going to take it right from the middle class.

Incredibly, Mitt’s tax plan would actually cost up to $2,000 for middle class families while giving a $87,000 tax cut to rich people like him.1 Taking that money away would not only harm a lot of struggling families, it could drive us into another recession.2

Too many people think Republicans want to cut taxes for them, when all Romney wants to do is give more tax breaks to the rich. So we’ve got to get the word out about Mitt sticking his hand into middle-class pockets.
Mitt Romney is not running for the president of the United Sates, he is running for the President of the 1% so he can do all he can for them.

(Note from Steve: This video is a bit over boiled but it gets to the point. Yes, it is an attack ad but Mitt’s work needs to be explored and attacked)
Share this ad with your friends and spread the word about Mitt’s creepy hand. http://front.moveon.org/warning-mitt-romneys-a-pickpocket/?rc=email.eb

I am very sick and struggle with the amount of time I spend here already. My kidneys and liver are almost gone due to a hereditary deceased and I take what amounts to a grocery sack of med to keep me going. I simple do have have that much energy. truesoy… I have exchanged some personal emails with Arianna Huffington and I have seen her on TV and read so much of her stuff. She is left leaning now but with very good reason. She is biased primarily toward what is best for our country, what is fair for the middle and lower class and any who are feeling the pressure. She is also in favor of Corporations but not how the GOP is, she just realizes the country needs enterprise but not the exclusively controlling and greedy kind.

As for Greg, if he does get his beliefs ONLY from “Rush, or Glen Beck (or here from Root and Wood) or any other right wing ‘news sources”, as you suggested, or only the GOP sides, then he would be limited and bias in their direction. I listen to both sides and do lots of research (the research is so I can tell even when I really wouldn’t agree with the left on an issue which is far less than how often I agree with the Right), and I think you do too, which is why I share my views as I do. I look for the fairest position for us and then go with that. In case you missed my response to Greg here is is again, :-))).

Greg T Beaty… Arianna Huffington probably is a “former” republican because of how the GOP has adjusted her biases and she doesn’t agree any more with them as being a party for the people (or of) but instead for the corporations.. I am thinking this will help you make up your mind…

“If you ever wondered which side of the fence you sit on, this is a great test!

If a Republican doesn’t like guns, he doesn’t buy one.
If a Democrat doesn’t like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.

If a Republican is a vegetarian, he doesn’t eat meat.
If a Democrat is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.

If a Republican is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
If a Democrat is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.

If a Republican is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A Democrat wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a Republican doesn’t like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Democrats demand that those they don’t like be shut down.

If a Republican is a non-believer, he doesn’t go to church.
A Democrat non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced.

If a Republican decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it.
A Democrat demands that the rest of us pay for his.

If a Republican reads this, he’ll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh.
A Democrat will delete it because he’s “offended”. “

          • macgyver1948

Greg… You said to me “I would much rather know whom I am communicating with so would other on this forum”. Ok.

On this site I want to keep things clear but not so close. My name is Steve and I was born and raised in NYC and lived most of my adult life in NJ. I was in the Air Force from 1966 thru 1970. I’ve held several positions in the last 40 or so years after college from programmer analyst, Systems analyst, project manager and my last – IT Business Analyst. I have worked for some very large corporations and a fairly well known University as their Programming manager.

All the interactions I have had with big corp execs has made me leery about Corporations, their greed and their control over many of our elected and appointed government officials, and that is why I began researching the connections behind the politicians and them. History shows the Founders feared Corporations and the hold they can have over the government (nothing has changed since the days of the founders) with their huge money so I do a lot of digging now that I have the time. I write and I invest mostly these days.

Greg… Do you know enough now? Ask more if you want, I will let you know if I will answer but I wont lie to you.

          • http://www.facebook.com/gregbeaty Greg T Beaty

Awesome Steve, I thank you for sharing this information with me…

          • macgyver1948

By the way Greg.. There have been a number of responses to me from followers of TEA and the right who told me I have to be on welfare or looking for my handouts since I am a liberal. I laugh a lot, LOL….

          • http://www.facebook.com/gregbeaty Greg T Beaty

Steve everybody has an agenda and sometimes the words used to achieve that agenda is not so good. It harder to be aggressive or hostile to a real person like Steve than a user name like macgyver1948. I have to admit my goal is to get Obama removed from office in November. I believe he has harmed our country with his socialist acts and giving our money we work so hard for to the rich corporations and banks is just plain stupid. I believe Obama is taking our liberties and rights away fast as he can starting with our 2ND amendment rights. Obama fooled everyone in to believing that Obama-care was health insurance but it is not it is a TAX. Obama-care is going to make the cost of health insurance sky rocket in cost. I already pay $20k a year for mine. I believe having a business person running the USA will help get the deficit back under control. It is always the middle class that get taxed and the poor and rich never pay. The dems talk a lot about taxing the rich but they end up taxing the middle class instead. Many of the poor are poor because they want to be, It is easy for them. I know more than a dozen people that are getting SS benefits that could work but don’t. Why should they it is easy. The middle class will work hard to help but taxing them is not the way. Just ask for their help and it will be done. I give homeless people a place to stay all the time. In fact I am helping two right now. If a person is holding a sign that says “hungry need food” I will go buy food and bring it back to them. Just my nature. So, I hope you do not mind that I am going to do anything I have to that is legal and moral to rid the USA of Obama in November. Good luck to you Steve.

            Greg T B;

There is a lot of misinformation about Obama for obvious political issues.
I see you repeat the same talking points as the well known ‘conservative’ media’reports it.
However, neither you, nor them say what is it that makes Obama’s policies ‘socialists’.
May I suggest to you to google ‘Obama kept promises’. There it will not only tell you about them, but it will also tell you the ones he didn’t keep (it is a non-partisan evaluation that you can trust).
Hopefully, regardless of what political view you choose, it will be an informed one that is based on facts and not on ‘make believe.

            Sincerely,
            Truesoy

Thanks for your reply. Please point me to any truth where Obama reduced federal spending. Reduce middle class taxes. Removed stupid laws that have no real meaning. You know and I know he is for Big government and higher taxes. He is for less personal liberties and wants to dictate even the toilet we use. Why should I pay for those that live on the system while the Fed lets them. It is well know by the poor just have more children if you need more money from the fed. My daughter with small baby works three jobs while other in the same situation live on the system. This country is about hard work and living a moral life. I believe that Federal Government has one role and that is to defend our boarders, nothing more. Each state should govern themselves. I want the Federal government to but out of my life and let me make my own choices. We need to rid this USA from lawyers in public office and find someone like Henry Ross Perot to dig us out. Thank you.

          • http://incerely, truesoy

            Greg T B;

To take you to the truth where Obama has reduced fedral spending there are variables to be consider, therefore I’ll defer to CNNMoney on 25 Jan. 2012 for a look into the subject. There I believthat seeing some of the variables will give you a better understanding.
Another thing that it is overlooked is that the amount of the deficit now includes the cost of the two wars that previously the Bush administration kept outside the budget, but Obama in a show of ‘transparency’ added it to the budget and thereby giving us the true amount of the deficit. As they say, no goo deed goes unpunished.
About the growth of government. It can’t be all put on the shoulders of the Obama administration, for it all started during the Bush administration in response to 9-11, hence the creation of Homeland Security.
And although I support Obama overall, by no means I pretend to exonorate Obama of any responsibility, for he did not do anything to control its growth. But on the otherhand I’m sure you understand bureaucracies develop a life of their own that even presidents find hard to disolve.
About taxes. They are for corporation at the lowest they ever been and still the prospectfor the market aren’t that rosy,. That it is fallacy to believe that the anser is even lower taxes, for once upon a time the wealthy was made to pay its fair share and we had a very prosperous nation.
The advent of ‘down with regulations syndrome as expose by the republican elite is nothing but a trojan horse to gain more control of the economy and of the government. It is not a go receipe for our nation. It has been tried in those countries south of our borders and look at the results.
If you want to say the United States is socialist because of Obamas policy, then I will like to know what do you have to say about our country for the policies of more than a century until the 1980′s when they started the change?
            Just a shor history:
Americans from the beginning of our nation did not trust ‘the aristocrat’ nor the corporate structure. This is not to mean that americans were against ‘free enterprise and/or the free market’. It is just that americans didn’t feel that wealth meant to abuse people, and control all, including government.
In 1890 the people were fed up with the Railroad. Union Pacific was a monoploy, and although the people benefited from it, it also exercised control. Therefore the reason for the Sherman Act of 1890.
Under the provisions of the Sherman Act, the U.S. government in 1902 moved in against the Union Pacific (nationalized it?) and broke it.
Would you say this was communist in manner? If you say so, then you must be saying tha communism is good for a nation because we were rapidly becoming an economic power house and individual liberties wer not threaten.
In 1904 under provisions of the Sherman Act the U.S. government again moved against corporate interests and disolved the Northern Securities Company/
I can only imagine what would you, and the other conservative fellows in this site would say about Obama if he even thought of doing similar, no matter whats the justification.
In 1911, also under the provisions of the Sherman Antitrust Act, the U.S. government nationalized Standard Oil of New Jersey then broke it into several independent companies before setting them ‘free’.
Again, just imagine if Obama had tried any of that?
As you can see there is a history of our government playing an active role in the market, and it is for a reason. The government cant allow any one company/corporation become the ‘Great White’ that will devour the market because if that was to happen competion will ceased and the free market would die. All would controlled by just a few special interests, including our government which in a way would become the deFacto property of the corporation. Can you imagine living under corporate control where just a few non-elected money people rules you? do you want our country to be a big company town?. On that note I want to remind you that there is a reason we have had for many years laws on the boodk prohiting company towns.
However, having said that, I’m not naive to think that the sherman Act was not use or attempted to by corporation against competition, and there is plenty documented on that. But like anything else there will always be someone trying to get around it. However many tricks others tried, the Sherman Act was still beneficial to the free market.
It was when we started to get rid off the regulations in the 80′s, and the safeguard they afforeded us, that we saw monopolies grow beyond anyone’s imagination. They started to ‘eat’ the small ones, and then when they became too big to fail, they did; and they almost took down our country.
I hope I have given you and/or help ypu understand that there is a role and a purpose for government, and that is not as limited as some might want you to believe, nor it was ever intended to be.
Greg, I’ve written more than I’d planned, therefore, and not to bore you, the Welfare topic I’ll leave for another day. Its been a long day and I’m tired.

Then why did Obama bail out the two biggest corporation in our country. Those corporation should have failed for poor management. They are still in trouble and there is more talk of bail out. A small business gets in trouble it goes out of business and so it should. Those guys that got bailed out needed to go out of business and let others that are better managed move up. Any time a government give money to a corporation that is corporate welfare and a form of socialism. Now you and I own all this money back that Obama gave-a-way. I not concerned for myself but my grandson will have a harder life because of all this dept. Because Obama and the Feds are printing money we do not have this country going in to a state of hyperinflation soon. The dollar value is dropping and the dollar could become worthless. To be honest with you no mater who get elected I think it is tool late to stop the biggest baddest inflation we have ever seen. I am surprised that either one of them would want to be president when that happens.

            Greg T B;
I believe you are referring to GM being one of the corporations.
As I previously stated, there is a purpose for government, if not, what would be the reason to support and maintein it with the collective financial effort of society?
I hope you realize that we only have a few large scale manufacturers left in our country and we can’t lose them; not only because of the employment factor but also our security factor. Besides we owed a lot to GM, for during the war it converted all their resources to the support in the war effort.
Furthermore it is now that Obama has contributed financially to the bail out GM that doing so becomes a ‘disgusted socialist idea’.
Historically ther have always been a relationship between government a the free enterprise.
In late 1979 then President Carter signed a loan guarantees for Chrysler, and in the 1980′s Reagan bail out Chrysler. He also bailed out the airline industry.
And while presidential candidate Romney riles the conservatives antigovernment sentiments, is guilty of procuring millions from the government to benefit his ‘free’ enterprise. He even toolk millions from the government to finance the Olympics.
Gov. Perry of Texas built much of his economic agenda from money from Obama’s stimulus package.
It is the job/duty of government to protect the people, not just by raising an army, but by helping/protecting that that is in the ineterst of the people for if there is no people’s interest to protect, then there is no need for a common defense.
Like I said before, there is a purpose and a role for government, and that purpose is not as narrow nor limited as some want you to believe. But then again, maybe they don’t know any better, either.

            Sincerely,
            Truesoy

Greg…. You said to truesoy “Then why did Obama bail out the two biggest corporation in our country. Those corporation should have failed for poor management”.

You didn’t say which “two biggest corporation” but I guess you are talking about the two in the auto industry. No matter because they are huge as you say. Unlike Romney when he “let” or made companies go under primarily for the pleasure and profit for himself and his big investors Obama wanted to keep the employees still employed. Maybe also so the US would still have some kind of an auto industry too.

If employees are not doing at least “meets expectations” in their jobs the corporations would want to fire them for incompetence. I agree with you that the management of those two big corporations were not managerial competent and they should have been dumped. It should have been part of the deal to bail them out. But the auto companies did not hurt us as the banking industry does and I agree with at least trying to save jobs.

Also something you suggest is the “let’s print more money thing even though there is nothing real backing it”. That has been a down fall of humanity in some form since the Roman Empire or before. And that is a part of why our Government’s spending credit rating has dropped, they lost credibility and the belief that the Government can repay as it should but there are other reasons as well. It is also a contributor of our money losing it worldly status. Printing more money without the backing makes the money worth less. Anyway, I agree with you on that but that “flat” money thing has been going on for decades here and we are feeling it more and more now.

Please look up the definition of socialism. There are so many levels and degrees of socialism, not limited to, the very far right of Hitler’s Fascism, an off shoot of Mussolini’s Fascism, to the very far left of Communism and with the degree of it in our government, some where nicely in the middle, since it was founded.

I hope you are wrong about it being too late.

          • macgyver1948

truesoy…nicely stated. Let’s also remember things take time to come to a boil especially in government. I also see some tarnish on Obama but for the most part he is doing the best any can considering the GOP and TEA’s hate for him going back to before he was elected.

Things started going sour for our country a long time ago as we forgot the lessons from the Founders concerning their fears of corporations and their big money influence on our “representatives” (who are they really representing?). Romney is doing his corporate thing by lying to us with his “Corporations are people” routine and the Founders would hate him for that. We were sort of ok from the start of the 1800s but after the Civil War Corporations saw their big blood sucking opportunity to once again sink their teeth in big (once again) with the excuse of Reconstruction.

Back to how it is thought that Obama is a huge spender. See it at

“For example, how have the Republicans managed to persuade Americans to buy into the whole “Obama as big spender” narrative?
It might have something to do with the first year of the Obama presidency where the federal budget increased a whopping 17.9% —going from $2.98 trillion to $3.52 trillion. I’ll bet you think that this is the result of the Obama sponsored stimulus plan that is so frequently vilified by the conservatives…but you would be wrong.
The first year of any incoming president term is saddled—for better or for worse—with the budget set by the president whom immediately precedes the new occupant of the White House”.

You are right about he 2008 budget. The majority of the people don’t know that the ‘fiscal year’ for the Federal Government’ ends on sept. 30th, and the new year begins on the 1st of October, therefore the 2009 budget was signed by Bush in Sept. 2008.

truesoy… You got that right. Fiscal calenders seem to run both Government and corporations. Things seem to stop, or slow way down, when they both reach near end of the fiscal year and then pick up again when the new fiscal year begins based on how the new budget was decided.

Christians ethic?. Sometimes I wonder about christians.
On the one hand they (most) pledge full support to the State of Israel and to its people because they were the chosen one, right?
And then out of the other side of their mouth they tell you jews are going to hell anyway unless they accept Jesus. Go figure!

Ps.- you know, I’m not what you could consider a religious person, and I think you probably figured out that much by now, but I’m not an atheist either.

truesoy… You said to me “On the one hand they (most) pledge full support to the State of Israel and to its people because they were the chosen one, right? And then out of the other side of their mouth they tell you jews are going to hell anyway unless they accept Jesus. Go figure!”.

I am Jewish and I have been hit with that a lot. The contradictions are huge but I do not see it from all Christians, just the ones who claim “Only we are right and if you do not agree with us you have to be wrong”. Those are the ones who will kill “Freedom Of Religion” if we let them. I believe Romney is one of those but the ones who have done it the most are mostly the Born Agains, the Evangelicals and the “we refused to allow the Constitution say we are wrong” kind. Go figure.

I respect all Religions and I would never try to recruit people to my religion because I feel that is insulting and disrespectful to those who enjoy their ways of relating to and praying to God. But some just keep trying and they get angry because they fail. Such is life for the “we can’t accept you for who you are unless you become us” kind. HO you consider yourself in relation to God is your business.

Many of the founders were Christian but they wanted “Freedom Of Religion” for all so they put it in the Constitution. They should have put “Separation Of Church And Sate” in too, as they talked about, but they didn’t and I think we are still feeling that mistake in many ways.

          • macgyver1948

Greg… We very much can discuss our differences in beliefs and views in a civil manner. We cannot when some drop to the lows as to use insults and name calling whether there are real names or not because they can;t do it in an intelligent and adult way. The insults and name calling shows they can’t get their points across to any who disagree with them except in a bad little boy manner. Real names should not matter on line in a site like this but it doesn’t matter to me so I gave you my first name.

I would never put you down because of how you feel about Obama, that is not only your God given right but also your Constitutional one as well. I am totally a Golden Rule kind of guy as much as I can be.

With that said, although I do not see Obama as perfect by any means, who do we have to choose against him who will work for us as we need him/her to? I am fearful with Romney. I not only see him as possible tax evader but two other things scare me about him that are so much more important (than the taxes thing) to each of us as individuals.

First, he has shown by his record and actions that he is all the way for the corporations and not us. He says he is the businessman we all need to run the Oval Office but his record shows he eliminates jobs and companies solely for the purpose of making himself and his investors very wealthy. He also shows he gives as his reasons for this, by his saying, “it was all done in the name of good business”. Tell that to all the very many companies he gutted, the workers and their families he put out of work so he and his investors could get wealthier. As Governor he outsourced many Massachusetts jobs as well. I strongly believe Romney will BAIN us all in favor for the Corporations if he is elected.

Second. I see he may be against “Freedom Of Religion” if other people’s religious beliefs conflict with his religious beliefs and practices. I am so much for “Freedom Of Religion” for all, totally equally, but not for one religion, or more, to infringe on other peoples rights, God given and/or Constitutional.

You really should understand ObamaCare if you are going to oppose it. There are thinks in it Obama didn’t want in it but he was told by Republicans he better allow them if he wanted ObamaCare to pass. In the early 1990s the GOP tried to get national health care through but it was so screwed up that didn’t pass. Then there was RomneyCare from when he was Governor. These GOP/Rom things included, but wasn’t limited to, fining all those who can not afford health insurance until they buy it anyway. Yes, there are taxes in the plan but you should read them, see how they affect you, if at all. I am not liking a lot of OC but I am also hoping Obama and his team will get the bad stuff out as best they can in his second term.

I have been written the below lately, including my sources, and Romney goes on scaring me the more I know of him. Read below as well and then tell me who would be better than Obama, including his faults, of those who are running? I hate that I will be choosing the lessor of the evils but Obama is not nearly as bad as TEA’s hate wants people to believe.

Mitt Romney on Mormon Baptisms of the Dead: ‘I Haven’t Recently’
Feb 16, 2012 7:30 AM EST As Jewish leaders decry the Mormon baptism of Simon Wiesenthal’s relatives, how does Mitt Romney feel about the practice? Read his 2007 Newsweek interview on the controversial Mormon baptisms.
            ‘I Haven’t Recently’ says Romney.

            http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2012/02/16/mitt-romney-on-mormon-baptisms-of-the-dead-i-haven-t-recently.html

This practice not only highly insults the religions they do “it“ to but it, this practice, is a clear and damaging violation of “FREEDOM OF RELIGION” and federal laws and they should be in a federal prison for many years for doing “it”.

This topic, since Mitt admits doing it, should be a hot topic in this election campaign because it goes to the morals and legal beliefs of those who do it.

Another person who says they have done it, a non famous person, wrote the following in response to an article in a comment site yesterday, July 29, 2012.

sdchokers • Bolton, Connecticut • 2 hrs 37 mins ago Report

sdchokers says… “I’m mormom and participated in baptism for the dead. I felt a little wrong about it because we would baptize many Jewish people and they look at Jesus as a false Messiah. It’s odd to baptize those who have no choice whether they agree with the church or not”. I say he is guilty of violating The US Constitution and Federal laws as well as greatly insulting different faiths.

I think sdchokers “felt” wrong for performing those “immoral” baptisms because he knew it was very wrong. Thus, his “wrong” feeling”. They weren’t performed for the dead, they were performed for Mormons.

This is an important issue to bring into the campaign for as long as Romney is running for president because it goes to the character of those who do it. I do not trust Mitt Romney for a number of reasons, his secrets for one and his total alliance to the corporate world, but this act is deplorable.

Questions: Presumably he says ‘I Haven’t Recently’. In the minds of those who do believe in baptism aren’t baptisms for eternity? What does ‘not recently’ have to do with it? Mitt and all others who violate these basic Constitutional freedoms belong in prison. If not we might go back to being the kind of country King George wanted, in this case, that being only his religion and church have the rights. Even if you are of a different denomination you could lose out. That is why we need “Separation Of Church” added to the Constitution for all of our safety and liberty.

Greg, I admire you for your helping the homeless. I am not sure people in general are poor because they want to be just like I do not agree with TEA that the unemployed are unemployed because they want to be. So many unemployed are that because of layoffs and from being BAINed. Why would people choose to struggle? I know there are many lazy people out there but some have stopped having faith in the FEDs and some are really trying. We need to be more compassionate toward those who deserve the help and those so many who have earned it.

          • macgyver1948

That is your choice and I respect it. I want smaller and less intrusive government but we have to be compassionate and prudent on how we shrink it. actual socialist… You asked me “…but may i ask would you cut defence as well or make public works take all the hits?”. Man I wish I was smart enough and knowledgeable enough to answer you. I have a measly financial and IT back ground and I do not know what goes on behind all the closed government doors. I will, however, try to some how respond to you within my limits.

If I had all the Government resources at my disposal, and the expertise, I would see to it that our national defense would be well stocked but I will eliminate all unnecessary wars as well as all unnecessary world wide US positions. If our national friends needed help I would do what I could but I would not do any war for the financial pleasure of those who have made those demands up until now. For example I would not have done the Immoral invasion thing in Iraq but I would be going after those who attacked us on 9/11 instead, only. The financing and planning of it and the under ground railroad of it too but not invade nation who had nothing to do with it. Not for oil, geographical positioning or to avenge my daddy, whatever.

I would want instead to spend what we need on infrastructure and very much including education and needed social programs. We lost out so much on the Immoral bush wars as well as with all the other waste and greed from so many years gone by. We need to love our people, all of them, and not only the very wealthy and their needs. Otherwise how can we claim or even think of the US as being better than all the rest? What would we have to morally brag about?

But I am not a politician so what do I know from my nut shell response above. I tried. It was a good question.

            Hay Greg, how about this?:

Andrea Saul, Romney Spox, Gets Pilloried For Mentioning Candidate’s Most Important Achievement

Here is part of the article found at http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/08/08/andrea-saul-romney-health-care_n_1757550.html LOL…

And that spokeswoman’s response is being hailed as one of the 2012 campaign season’s most collossal cock-ups.
Sigh. Here’s what happened. This week, Priorities USA Action, a super PAC run by former Obama advisor Bill Burton (who is surely not “coordinating” his efforts with the Obama campaign, because that would be tsk-tsk illegal!) put out a brutal attack ad. It tied the activities of Bain Capital to the death of a woman who lost her health care coverage as a result of her husband losing his job at GST Steel, one of the celebrated casualties of Bain’s business practices. As Alex Burns reported:
The commercial casts Mitt Romney’s business background in a severely negative light, but it’s not a typical slash-and-burn attack ad. Instead, it features former GST Steel employee Joe Soptic speaking to the camera about what happened when the plant where he worked shut down.

“I don’t think Mitt Romney understands what he’s done to people’s lives by closing the plant. I don’t think he realizes that people’s lives completely changed,” Soptic said. “When Mitt Romney and Bain closed the plant, I lost my health care and my family lost their health care. And a short time after that my wife became ill.”
In 2006, Soptic’s wife passed away, and a future attack ad was born.
In the immediate aftermath of the ad’s deployment, the Romney camp issued a relatively standard response, referring to the ad as dishonest and accusing the president and his allies of using such attacks to distract from economic issues. And nothing more might have come of this had Romney’s team stuck to that story.
But on Fox News this morning, Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul went “off-script,” and amid a larger declaration about the ad being despicable and some pushback on the facts of the ad, she offered this statement in Romney’s defense: “To that point, if people had been in Massachusetts, under Governor Romney’s health care plan, they would have had health care.”
After that came the deluge of conservatives savaging Saul for getting lost on the road to Damascus, essentially accusing her of giving away the election.
The thing is, though, Saul’s logic in citing Romney’s creation and implementation of CommonwealthCare in Massachusetts is impeccable. Her baseline argument: If you are going to hit Romney with the Bain practices that allegedly led to this woman losing her health insurance, you surely must credit him for his legislative accomplishments, which enabled thousands of uninsured people to obtain life-saving care. That is, for the most part, pristine reasoning.

The only problem, of course, is that this wasn’t offered in 2008, when it would have been hailed as a brilliant defense. We’ve once again come face to face with the perplexing weirdness at the center of Romney’s entire presidential effort: in 2012, Romney is not allowed to run on the singular achievement of his career — Massachusetts health care — that earned him a spot in the world of GOP presidential contenders in the first place.

    • momo

Exactly, Romney wasn’t my choice either, but in this election there are only two and judging by past perfoemnce the other choice is a disaster.

    • carrobin

I’m afraid your facts are askew. It was George W. Bush who ruined the economy, with two wars and tax cuts simultaneously, not to mention a housing bubble that crashed the buying power of a large section of the middle class (if nobody’s buying, businesses can’t sell). Obama took office in January 2009, and took action to reverse the downward slide to a new Depression. The steps should have been larger, of course, but they kept the economy afloat. He’s still the best choice going forward, unless Hillary decides to run again.

      • Patriot1776

“He’s the best choice going forward”? “took action to reverse the downward slide to a new Depression. The steps should have been larger, of course, “? What flavor of kool aid was it? Dumping trillions of dollars down the toilet didn’t save the economy. All of the stimulus money was wasted on useless ventures into failing businesses that haven’t generated any jobs. Any recovery this nation has seen is purely a credit to the strength of this nation and in spite of any activity from the administration.

All this man has done is prevent this country from recovering like it would have if he had done absolutely nothing. Increased regulation, increased taxation, increased uncertainty…that is his great accomplishment.

Romney hood—Obama= Wimpie—I will gladly pay you tuesday for a hamburger today. China has given him the money but just wait and see what happens when Tuesday comes around!!!

  • gfsomsel

    Two things:

    1. Robin Hood stole “tax” money from the government—he didn’t take money from the poor so that’s perfectly compatible with reducing exhorbitant taxes on the wealthy rather than redistributing the wealth to government dependents. No reason here to object to Romney being called Romney Hood.

    2. In light of the above, Obama’s characterization of Romney as taking money from the “poor” in order to give tax breaks to the rich is totally inappropriate since it was the government which (in legend) was oppressing the poor. I’m not saying that those with restricted means should be forced to give what little they have, but I do think that everyone should be required to pay something—even if it’s only $1.00. That provides them some dignity in the realization that they too have a part in society.

    • Norm

If the “poor” made a livable wage they might be happy to pay taxes.
Romney’s 3 million dollar tax in 2010 is more than most people earn in a lifetime. But he still cleared over 20 million. Incidentally he happily gave over 2 million to the Mormon church.

      • Patriot1776

You mean that he was successful? How dare he? He worked hard and took personal risk and was rewarded? Who does he think he is? And then to turn around and give his own money to his church, the unmitigated gall. Doesn’t he know that he didn’t build that?

      • http://www.facebook.com/gregbeaty Greg T Beaty

If the poor would work harder like the middle class do then they would make more money to be paying more taxes. It is called ambition…

      • Norm

        pat
Romney’s success is to be praised.
If he had any concern for the country that made that success possible he’d stop trying to screw the government by every loophole and trick possible.
I paid taxes at a higher RATE than Romney on a far far lower income and I’m not complaining.

    • Dennis Phelps

No need to worry about your request . January 1st 2013 all SS checks will be direct deposit to your bank. Did you know the administration is planning on slipping through a bill to charge a $1.00 FEE for ALL bank transactions including direct deposits of SS checks!
THAT ADDS UP TO A LOT OF NO TAXES FOR PEOPLE ON FIXED INCOMES
      Check it out for yourself.

      1. snopes.com: Debt Free America Act••• Is the U.S.government proposing a 1% tax on debit card usage and/or banking transactions?

It is being kept quiet until after the elections WHY? Can you tell everyone why?
That is 1% going in the bank and 1% coming out of the bank! ONLY A FEE RIGHT??
No taxes on anyone making less than $250,000.00. It’s more like more than $250.00!
Don’t believe every thing the great one says he speaks with forked tongue!

MAYBE WHAT WE NEED IS A TRUE NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT AND SOME TRUTH MAY COME TO PAST!!!!

Obama actually does have the anticdote correct. Robin Hood wanted to take from the rich corrupt government and give to the poor. Obama just doesn’t realize that HE is King Richard, Biden is the Sheriff of Nottingham, and his minions Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi are the corrupt government officials.

    • Paul Wells

Right, but I prefer to think of Nancy and Harry as useful idiot elves, who parade around and say things that make people laugh with hearty merriment. Never taken seriously, and unaware that they are subject of scorn and ridicule by those who laugh the loudest!

Flip-flopping Romney – now – that’s a man I want as my President! Not! You’re talking about a self-serving guy who will rape America and take all he can get – as he has done consistently via Bain. Unless you’re a top earner you won’t benefit from Romney’s policies. Don’t kid yourself. Obama is not the best we have, but obstructionist policies and attitudes in our corrupt congress are self-serving (to the max they can get!) and haven’t helped further the national dialog despite Obama’s efforts. If you think Romney will help the majority of Americans what are you basing your opinion on? The man is a wooden, stilted, self-serving pariah. He will serve no American you personally know (unless you occupy the very upper stratosphere of earners) or do anything we middle class will recognize as democratic; additionally our infrastructure will continue to head south and people will not have any health care protection as Big Insurance & Big Pharma & Big Ag stick you with the bill, unfettered by Romney. Read this opinion:
    http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/johncassidy/2012/08/the-truth-about-romney-hood.html

    • Sirian

      karlseidel,
You’ve obviously swallowed the hook, line and sinker for sure! Taste pretty good? I’m sure you think so. Enjoy.

      • karlseidel3

I don’t think I’ve swallowed anything hook, line & sinker Sirian. I don’t believe Obama has done the best he is capable of but I don’t see any benefit to voting for a self-serving pariah like Romney either. Show me something valuable and virtuous about Romney – please! I want to believe someone can improve my America – but I definitely don’t see a trace of that in Romney’s past except for his pioneering of the MA health-care mandate (which was definitely a step in the right direction). But, flip-flopping mealy-mouthed, self-serving etch-a-sketch boy that he is he obviously will bow and kow-tow to Adelson and Koch’s – NOT tax-paying business owners and middle-class Americans. BTW Sirian I don’t expect an intelligent informed response from you (because obviously you’re just another reactionary one-off scribbler willing to speak but unable to say much of anything because 1 sentence is your obvious intellectual limit)…and that’s OK – don’t stress.

    • Patriot1776

So you would rather have a president who will lie to you, tell you that he will respect your relgion, while at the same time he attacks your religion and forces you to either go against your beliefs or forfeit your business. Do you also think that obama hasn’t been raping America (a country which he despises)? He vacations on the tax payer dollar, throws “stimulus” dollars at failed businesses only to have them file bankruptcy and walk away with the money and no obligation to repay. He travels around the country “campaigning” at tax payer expense and attending $10,000 a plate fund raisers. You think that obama isn’t influenced by the 1%ers that he hangs out with?

      • karlseidel3

Patriot…they’re all liars! Every politician with the rare exception is a big fat liar. They’re all self-serving to some degree. If it were my choice all public servants would be limited in term and dollars paid and audited annually. I am completely aware that both Obama and Romney are in the 1% bracket…are you too? I’m not and I want ideally to be served by someone who at least speaks to my needs – although I know in advance I won’t be served as I would like to be. I can’t be (and won’t be!) labeled as a democrat, republican or independent – because these categories are way too simplistic for an intelligent voter! I don’t agree with most of anything these “representatives” say and they rarely do what they say – they vote with whoever gives them the most money (which makes them prostitutes by definition). Anyway, politicians don’t help much of anything as far as I can tell. And they increasingly are influenced by the big bucks from big business – not small business. So where does that leave you and me?

      • Patriot1776

karlseidel3, we can certainly agree on the politicians. I am certainly not in the 1%, probably not in the 50%. I would love to see this nation clean the house and the senate, and the Supreme Court. I just see obama taking us down the old, failed socialist/marxist/communist road that is absolutely the opposite direction.

        • karlseidel3

I’m no scholar or historian Patriot. But I can’t help thinking your characterization “socialist/marxist/communist road” is an extreme attribution to a guy who’s trying to help – not inhibit – communication between our corrupt congress members. These are self-serving people drawing a high government salary and the best health benefits package available on our dollar who are simultaneously serving the highest bidders: big business. Who’s interests do you think are winning? The constituents (you and me) or the Big Businesses putting the bucks in the corrupt congressional legislators pockets? How do you think Obama would/should/could do his job well? I don’t have the answer because I’ve never before experienced the obstructionist approach we are seeing today – except when Newt was in congress – another self-serving corrupt politician I’m happy to see off our collective radar. I’m looking forward to communication between all parties, all constituents and business groups alike – but with our current congress that’s not going to happen anytime soon. I think the best bet is to get rid of them all and start fresh – with limitations on government benefits for these “representatives” of our collective America. I just don’t see that happening with either of these 2 “Presidential” non-starters. But, given the choices I’ll stick with the incumbent – not the pariah known as Romney.

  • Norm

    Just a few observations:

    5. The trickle down BS is class warfare initiated by the very rich.

go to the video of the “obama deception”online. in it it tells how the presidents are chosen. obunhole is talking sh-t on romney and in these comments some say taht voting republican would make things worse. in mthe obama deception they tell who and how our presidents are chosen. they said the last several have been chosen this way. i believe that it wentyback to long before the elitist got the federal reserve bank in to run our money. the founders warned us of it and also the way the presidents are chosen not. the original 13th amendment warned us of not allowing royalty into the government. this would not allow big bankers and big business in. look up the original 13th amendment. it was never ratified and the 13th amendment became the one freeing the slaves. i researched all of this. we probly would not be in the mess we’re in now if the original 13th amendment had gone thru. while you are at it look up divine cosmos online adn go to the article:the great revealing: us marshals expose the greatest scandal in history. these are the lpeople who decide it all.

obunhole talks sh_on romney but the hell of it is they belong to the same club. the elitist club. they all have the same goal.

“bitter men are not pleased with the suppression of taxes. not daring to condemn the measure, they attack the motive; and too disingenuous to ascribe it to the honest one of freeing our citizens from unnecessary burthens and unnecessary systems of office, they ascribe it to a desire of popularity.”–thomas jefferson to benjamin rush, 1801.

shame how many here have only one subjective point of view. sad how many here are happy to be spoon feed their own manipulated beliefs. i rarely ever see any evidence of objective reasoning but instead regurgitated conservative maintain the status quo rhetoric. maybe if anyone would take the chance to open their minds to another point of view they would learn something. if anyone can remember, our economy was stagnate for years before the crash. the debt and deficit had been on an upward climb before the last pres. election. public services and infrastructure have suffered from tax cut after tax cut after tax cut.

“the rich alone use imported articles, and on these alone the whole taxes of the general government are levied. our revenues liberated by the discharge of the public debt, and its surplus applied to canals, reads, schools, etc., the farmer will see his government supported, his children educated, and the face of his country made a paradise by the contributions of the rich alone, without his being called on to spend a cent from his earning.”–thomas jefferson to thaddeus kosciusko, 1811.

“the collection of taxes… fall principally on the rich, it is a general desire to make them contribute the whole money we want. and we have a hope that they will furnish enough for the expenses of government and the interest of our public debt, foreign and domestic.”– thomas jefferson to comte de moustier, 1790.

“another means of silently lessening the inequality of property is to exempt all from taxation below a certain point, and to tax the higher portions of property on geometrical progression as they rise.”–thomas jefferson to james madison, 1785.

i ask: which candidate’s policies most reflect this founding father’s intentions?

    • Patriot1776

Brett, I would submit that Romney’s policies most reflect this founding father’s intentions. The intentions of the founding fathers were never to enable any people to submit to government servitude, taking food stamps and welfare for subsistence. Obama may speak of taxing only the wealthy, but the facts are that the taxes that will hit us on January 1st will hit all working Americans. The founding fathers left Europe to come to America to create a free nation, acknowledging the unalienable rights endowed by the Creator. Obama believes neither in the unalienable rights or the Creator which endowed them. Of the two choices, obama is disqualified.

      • brett

i really wish people would actually read what was posted. or is it all too over your head for comprehension? welfare is not servitude, but it neither is it the safety net that it should be thanks to conservative stereotypes and prejudges. romney wants to continue with the gop tax policy that misrepresents most american citizens while only benefiting the status quo of wealth and power. thomas jefferson clearly wants to tax the wealthy in order to benefit all. if you were a real patriot you would not protest against any taxes, but the fact that our current tax system benefits the few over the many: taxation without representation. it is the lower classes that are in servitude to the financial corporations though low pay and benefits making us mortgage our future forcing us to increase our personal debt and diminish our savings. the top tier in our country have not payed their fair share now for too long. go back and read again what jefferson’s thoughts were on taxes and tell me how this correspond to what romney and paul ryan have proposed! i am unable to find anything short of unsubstantiated hearsay, supposition, and wild conspiracy that backs up anything you assert concerning obama and his beliefs and intentions. i maybe an amateur historian, but i’ve spent enough time at the library of congress to know that many here have redefined and perverted our history and the intent of our founding fathers, most of whom ( thomas paine as one exception ) were born in america, not having left europe.
your submission is rejected!!! continue being one of the bitter men that he spoke of or open your mind.

      • Patriot1776

“i am unable to find anything short of unsubstantiated hearsay, supposition, and wild conspiracy that backs up anything you assert concerning obama and his beliefs and intentions. ”

All you have to do to research any of this is read obama’s books. In “Dreams from My Father” he tells of his association with the radical race-haters and communists during his upbringing. Being that it comes from his biography, you may correct that it is “unsubstantiated hearsay, supposition, and wild conspiracy”, but it’s his book, not mine.

As for you rejecting my submission, I don’t think that the founding fathers would approve, nor accept either candidate as one stands for the very principles that they revolted against, and the other has his own leftward leanings. Of the two offered as choices, Romney is closer to the founding fathers.

      • brett

false patriot: i was referring directly toward your assertions and all the others within this forum. picking and choosing and taking out of context what obama wrote doesn’t count. maybe if you lived a little and experienced the diversity of the real world you would understand this. if you have ever read any of the personal correspondence or memoirs you would know that washington, hamilton, and jefferson all were against the special interest of individuals and of party partisanship. they also deeply believed in democracy and compromise, not this my way or the highway stance of the neocons and tea party. i will agree that, giving the current circumstances, that they would not approve of either, nor would they be the least impressed as to how we have let them down and allowed the status conservative quo continue its reign. but, again to keep things simple, within the quotes i submitted from jefferson, which candidate’s policies best embodies his thoughts towards taxation? good luck, for i will not accept anymore diversionary drivel.

  • terry myers

Can we just raise taxes on all who vote for Obuma. That’s the ticket. Oh, and maybe funnel a little of that back to me.

    • Patriot1776

Good idea terry, but most of those who vote for obama don’t pay taxes, they are takers.

  • uvuvuv

but romney didn’t build that so how can obama blame him if romney’s actions are just a result of government intercession?

  • uvuvuv

i am reading the dave maraniss book about obama and one detail is abundantly clear, no mention of his holding any jobs as a high school student in hawaii nor as a college student at occidental or columbia in nyc. he was coasting on whatever money came his way, without wondering where it came from. myself, i delivered papers and worked as a sunday comics inserter until i went away to college, and at college i was what you would call a burger builder as opposed to a bilderberger. then the next 2 summers i worked at surveying, so then i didn’t need a campus job. not that it helped my grades, i was pretty awful as a student. in fact here i am years later delivering papers again. but anyway, if ba-ROCK obama had any reflections on earning his way, mr maraniss didn’t mention them. no mention of peanut butter sandwiches, cereal, ramen noodles and kraft macaroni and cheese. no as a college student he ate at restaurants. with whose money? did he even have a concept of money? i will keep you posted on his job situation as i read on, but so far in the book if anyone didn’t build that, it was he.

  • chuckb

most who voted for obama are living off the government, they pay little in tax if any and expecting the earners to contribute to their never ending welfare. there’s no way we can continue this type of economy, the bolheviks know it, gas prices alone will stall industry and create inflation, there is no attempt by this administration to aid the production of energy, in fact they are hindering it. spreading the wealth, or taking from those that have and giving it to the entitlement society will only create more poverty, then guess what, king barry will rule. the bleeding hearts worship their black god and that’s exactly what they have manufactured.

“The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America . Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.

LOL!!!! Nash say; “However, there is no evidence that Robin Hood’s deceitful tactics improved the economy of Nottingham.”

Well Sir. , I think that it is safe to say “No improvement that you elect to acknowledge” ~ for if you did the GOP wouldn’t have a leg to stand on, much less a “Track Record” of economic improvement for most Americans today while the top earners in this country need to wear a “mask”!

After Ronnie Rayguns shifting the federal tax burden off of big business and onto the average Joe that actually works for a living back in the 80′s , American’s have been in a slow, stall, spin, crash and burn ! Bush’s tax cuts meant 350.00 to 400.00 dollars to many Americans and 67,000 to 120,000 dollars to others. Bush bought all Americans a new Television set while some got a nice “get away” home in Aspen to put it in.

Sure the wealthy pay more! I’d be happy to pay more if I made more. It’s disproportional, which is cloudy enough that we can argue about it all day and nobody wins! I’d love to be in the 27% bracket!

I had more discretionary buying power back in 1978! then I do today. I made more money in 1984 then I do today while I had less discretionary to spend.

    2012, ~ I don’t make money, ~ I only get to “touch and feel” it, ~ ” It good that I don’t pay much in taxes for if I had I couldn’t! ~

~~ I accept the responsibility of all my overlooked, oversights, failures, screw ups and it appears everyone else’s! I say this, ~ while knowing full well, I’m not alone with such thoughts and they are shared by many other Americans today that are feed up with lip wrist Democrats that will pander to political pressure and Republican rich-man lap dogs that attempt to pi$$ down our collar and tell us that it’s raining.

The overall state of affairs of our nation have greatly improved since “W” administration turned in their keys, but still we have much work left to do to get beyond, “things SUCK!” they just suck less today!

2013 will be a much better year, regardless who is president. ~ It really doesn’t matter.

There just to much moving and “in the pipe” today for it to be otherwise.

But Nash, please continue with your spin, ~ some people will buy it.

Americans don’t want no “tinkling” going on ~ up or down, ~ They want an economic climate where it’s possible to to EARN it! Is this possible without giving the top earners the “Keys to the Candy Store?”

    • Patriot1776

      I received this in an e-mail and I think it explains where America is heading rather well;

The tax system explained in Beer
Suppose that once a week, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all
      ten comes to $100.

If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something
      like this….

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
      The fifth would pay $1.
      The sixth would pay $3.
      The seventh would pay $7.
      The eighth would pay $12.
      The ninth would pay $18.
And the tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

So, that’s what they decided to do.

The ten men drank in the bar every week and seemed quite happy with the
arrangement until, one day, the owner caused them a little problem.
“Since you are all such good customers,” he said, “I’m going to reduce
the cost of your weekly beer by $20.” Drinks for the ten men would now
      cost just $80.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes. So
the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free but
what about the other six men? The paying customers? How could they
divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his fair share? They
realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33 but if they subtracted that
from everybody’s share then not only would the first four men still be
drinking for free but the fifth and sixth man would each end up being
      paid to drink his beer.

So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fairer to reduce each
man’s bill by a higher percentage. They decided to follow the principle
of the tax system they had been using and he proceeded to work out the
amounts he suggested that each should now pay.

And so, the fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (a 100%
      saving).
The sixth man now paid $2 instead of $3 (a 33% saving).
The seventh man now paid $5 instead of $7 (a 28% saving).
The eighth man now paid $9 instead of $12 (a 25% saving).

The ninth man now paid $14 instead of $18 (a 22% saving).
And the tenth man now paid $49 instead of $59 (a 16% saving).
Each of the last six was better off than before with the first four
      continuing to drink for free.

But, once outside the bar, the men began to compare their savings. “I
only got $1 out of the $20 saving,” declared the sixth man. He pointed
to the tenth man, “but he got $10.”

“Yes, that’s right,” exclaimed the fifth man. “I only saved $1 too.
It’s unfair that he got ten times more benefit than me.”

“That’s true” shouted the seventh man. “Why should he get $10 back,
when I only got $2? The wealthy get all the breaks.”

“Wait a minute,” yelled the first four men in unison, “we didn’t get
anything at all. This new tax system exploits the poor.”
The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.

The next week the tenth man didn’t show up for drinks, so the nine sat
down and had their beers without him. But when it came time to pay the
bill, they discovered something important – they didn’t have enough
money between all of them to pay for even half of the bill.

And that, boys and girls, journalists and government ministers, is how
our tax system works. The people who already pay the highest taxes will
naturally get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much,
attack them for being wealthy and they just might not show up anymore.
In fact, they might start drinking overseas, where the atmosphere is
      somewhat friendlier.

      Professor of Economics.
For those who understand, no explanation is needed.
For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible

    Bryan Nash;

…and just like there is no proof that ‘Romney Hood’ will improve the lot of the american people other than the wealthy like himself at the expense of the lower economic class.
But, what is to expect from a man that while running for president of the United States is hiding his money in offshore bank accounts to avoid paying taxes.
His ways reaches a new height of hypocrisy for he is vying for a ‘tax’ supported government position at the same time that he tries to avoid paying his fair share.
The quest for ‘justifiable hypocrisy’ by the conservative ‘cast’ is only worthy of envy by the most hypocritical member of any ‘cast’, and matched by none..
And that is the current sad state of affairs in the conservative sphere because they can’t, nor are willing to accept the idea, and even less able to accept the reality about the man sitting in the Oval Office, hence their willingness to overlook the ethics and the integrity of the man running to replace him.
I guess we can safely say that this is a ‘new’ conservative breed that has some very serious issues and is willing to sell its soul to the devil to satisfy its craving.

    Sincerely,

And obama has really made the wealthy suffer and pay hasn’t he, no, wait, he was partying with them at a $10,000 a plate fund raiser. At least Romney earned his money in business.

      • http://incerely, truesoy

        Patriot1776;

Your problem is that you think Obama is against rich people because that is what the conservative ‘analysis’ of news tells you.
Just because he demands they pay their fair share does not make him anymore ‘anti-rich as you want to believe as Reagan was anti-rich when he said the same and followed it with saying that it is not fair for a bus driver to pay a higher percentage of his wages than the wealthy.

I don’t know where you get your information from, but I’ll tell you that neither Rush, nor Fox, nor personal liberty is any better source of information than a cracker jack box.
And one more thign, there is no tooth fairy, and drugs are bad for you. So there; get off the pipe.
Ps.- the Obamas are ‘rich’ people. Now, how do you reconcile that with your assertion of Mrs. Obama?

            Sincerely,

Hey nimrod truesoy, I like Rush and Fox and since Obama never had a real job how did he get rich I wonder.

          • http://incerely, truesoy

            Greg;

…and how they became rich?. Well, they both being attorneys, and he having a best selling book, and also having a job for over 3 years (President) that pays $400,000. per year plus expenses, I think it could very well propel anyone into the ranks of the rich.

          • http://www.facebook.com/gregbeaty Greg T Beaty

truesoy, you information is so bogus…

“Around 1979 Obama started college at Occidental in California. He is very open about his two years at Occidental, he tried all kinds of drugs and was wasting his time but, even though he had a brilliant mind, did not apply himself to his studies. ‘Barry’ (that was the name he used all his life) during this time had two roommates, Muhammad Hasan Chandoo and Wahid Hamid, both from Pakistan. During the summer of 1981, after his second year in college, he made a ’round the world’ trip. Stopping to see his mother in Indonesia, next Hyderabad in India, three weeks in Karachi, Pakistan where he stayed with his roommate’s family, then off to Africa to visit his father’s family. My question – Where did he get the money for this trip? Nether I, nor any one of my children would have had money for a trip like this when they where in college. When he came back he started school at Columbia University in New York. It is at this time he wants everyone to call him Barack — not Barry. Do you know what the tuition is at Columbia? It’s not cheap! to say the least. Where did he get money for tuition? Student Loans? Maybe. After Columbia, he went to Chicago to work as a Community Organizer for $12,000 a year. Why Chicago? Why not New York? He was already living in New York.

By ‘chance’ he met Antoin ‘Tony’ Rezko, born in Aleppo Syria, and a real estate developer in Chicago. Rezko has been convicted of fraud and bribery this year. Rezko, was named ‘Entrepreneur of the Decade’ by the Arab-American Business and Professional Association’. About two years later, Obama entered Harvard Law School. Do you have any idea what tuition is for Harvard Law School? Where did he get the money for Law School? More student loans? After Law school, he went back to Chicago. Rezko offered him a job, which he turned down. But, he did take a job with Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland. Guess what? They represented ‘Rezar’ which Rezko’s firm. Rezko was one of Obama’s first major financial contributors when he ran for office in Chicago. In 2003, Rezko threw an early fundraiser for Obama which Chicago Tribune reporter David Mendelland claims was instrumental in providing Obama with ‘seed money’ for his U.S. Senate race. In 2005, Obama purchased a new home in Kenwoood District of Chicago for $1.65 million (less than asking price). With ALL those Student Loans – Where did he get the money for the property? On the same day Rezko’s wife, Rita, purchased the adjoining empty lot for full price. The London Times reported that Nadhmi Auchi, an Iraqi-born Billionaire loaned Rezko $3.5 million three weeks before Obama’s new home was purchased. Obama met Nadhmi Auchi many times with Rezko.

All of the above information I got on line. If you would like to check it – Wikipedia, encyclopedia, Barack Obama; Tony Rezko; Valerie Jarrett: Daily Times – Obama visited Pakistan in 1981; The Washington Times – September 7, 2008; The Times May 10, ” 2008.

Now the BIG question – If I found out all this information on my own, Why haven’t all of our ‘intelligent’ members of the press been reporting this?

          • http://incerely, truesoy

            Greg T B;

Obama never attended Occidental College in California.
The source of your information came from an ‘april’s fools day’ article (not associated with the AP) that was poking fun at the ‘birthers’. And what would you know?, there were people stupid enough to buy into it (no insult intended).
If you go to Snopes.com it will tell you all that is pertinent to the issue.
I’m always happy to enlighten you.

            Sincerely,

I don’t think that obama is against rich people. He is merely jealous of anyone who worked to acheive and make their own fortune. Obama is against capitalism, free markets, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, but not against the rich. The rich are his donors. He gladly uses them to fund his campaign and to use as whipping boys to stir up class warfare.

    deerinwater,

you say offer facts about the amount of people living off the government.

it would not be possible for me to give you an exact percentage, if you want to add up the minorities, 95% blacks, 79% mexican, 95% general democratic population . 96% of the illegals.
most of your blacks are living on the government, welfare, civil service and fed. i would estimate about the same for the mexican and illegals. civil service, teachers, state government, it would be safe to say at least 89% of them vote for barry. so it’s not hard for me to estimate the large amount of people who vote for king barry, are living off the government in one form or the other.

truesoy, what’s the matter did it hit you where you work, unemployed people drawing unemployment checks are living off the government. fed, state workers are nothing but
glorified welfare workers living off the taxpaying public. that includes king barry.

          chuckb;

I’ll take you are pretending to be dumb, right? but just in case I will pass some information your way.:
Unemployment Insurance is deducted from your pay every pay period for the sole purpose that inthe event you happen to lose your job you’ll get a check, as small as it might be, to tie you over to the next job.
Unemployment benefits are not government handouts; you paid for it.

This adminstration sounds more and more like a bunch of bad Fairy Tales. Now we have Obozo claiming Romneyhood, and that it wrong ;when everyone should know that Robin Hood took from the government and gave the money back to the people, who had been taxed to death. Just maybe the debtocraps are engaging in a Freudian slip?

Then there is the punk who cried wolf: Dirty Harry Reid.

The Pied Piper with his mesmerizing music leading the children to destruction? You get one guess.

Finally – This emperor has no clothes!

Opps, read the article too quickly – it’s Robinhood in Reverse……ah Robinhood in reverse is where you overtax the serfs and give it to the government. What a classic example of the psychological defense mechanism of PROJECTION. Look it up Debtocrap useful idiots.

  • Alex

Seniors voting GOP better have a backup to their Medicaid & Social Security—if elected, Mitt and Paul Ryan plan to slurp that right up to pay for sending YOUR CHILDREN, not THEIRS, and YOUR MONEY, not THEIRS, to Iran to pay back their backers, Daddy Warbucks (Haliburton, KBR, Bechtel, Blackwater/Xe, etc). Just as Cheneybush rewarded THEIR backers by pouring YOUR KIDS and YOUR MONEY, not THEIRS, into a smouldering hole in Iraq.

And the Iranian military makes the Iraqis look like Cub Scouts….

    • chuckb

yeah alex, we should really shudder facing a country that couldn’t defeat the iraqi”s the ones we eliminated in a matter of weeks, yes we should shudder.
if i remember right most of the bolsheviks voted for the iraqi war, your hero was not in the senate at that time and most likely wouldn’t have voted against his muslim countrymen.

      • Alex

        My “hero”…?

If you are referring to President Obama, you are laughably off base.

    • Pathfinder

Alex: Seniors do not have to worry about a back up under the Obama plan because they will face rationing and death panels. (You too will be there with time) What you need to understand is that Obama is paying for obama care with “stolen” medicare funds thus eliminating the seniors that the medicare serves.
Obama is then the “Robin Hood In Reverse” that he speaks of and has the audacity to paint Romney as the villain. This is Classic Saul Alinsky / democrat tactics. You need to research Saul Alinsky and determine if he, like Obama is one of your heroes. Chose wisely!

    • Pathfinder

Hey Alex; After reading you post above I gave you far more credit for your words than they deserved. Seniors get MEDICARE not MEDICADE. For somebody gullible enough to fall for an ‘April’s Fool’ article about Obama attending Occidental College in California, ( he never did ), for the sole purpose of poking fun at the ‘birthers’, you sure demand a lot for relevancy; but are you sure you know what it is?

how about barry producing his records, anyone seen his passport, social security card,(not the fraudulent one), have you seen his scholastic record, have you seen his immigration record, a true birth certificate, can you prove who his father was? with his record he couldn’t enlist in the armed service..

Mitt Romney says that he would NOT have gone into Pakistan to get Osama bin Laden! And THIS is your idea of a LEADER?

Mitt says he would NOT have gone into Pakistan to drop justice onto the head of the person, along with Cheneybush, MOST responsible for the horrific events of 9/11—and you want HIM calling the shots?

The MAIN people backing Mitt are the SAME people who backed Cheneybush—the War Profiteers. In order to reward their masters, Chenybush had drawn up plans to invade Iraq BEFORE their Inauguration. That is how PRIVATE contractors were paid $100K+ to do the work that our troops were paid less than half that for—and THAT is how some of our troops were ELECTROCUTED—taking showers in made unsafe by NON-soldiers paid with YOUR corporate welfare.

If elected, Mitt will reward these same backers by sending YOUR CHILDREN, not HIS, to Iran, partly at Israel’s request but mainly to FATTEN Daddy Warbucks’ clogged arteries— KBR, Bechtel, Haliburton, Blackwater/Xe.

The Fright Wing went apoplectic when President Obama pushed an untimely public investment in Solyndra, a company involved in helping to create a better future—those of you who decry “Green Energy” are foolish as we will eventually need to turn to alternative, renewable energy sources—yet you cheer the GOP history of throwing MUCH MORE of that money into the War Industry. You cheer these companies that promote killing YOUR children because you swallow their justification for doing so. Sheeple.

    • Pathfinder

You say: “President Obama pushed an untimely public investment in Solyndra, a company involved in helping to create a better future. “Untimely, Helping , Public Investment,Better Future”, where in heck do you come up with these soft ball terms that make Obama look soooo good?
You are so full of obamas Hope and Change crap you can not see the light of day. Obama was told and WARNED that Solyndra was a LOSING DEAL (and that was known during the Bush era and why Bush cut off supporting Solyndra). That apparently preceded your birth date. Obama re activated support and LOST. Do you understand that???? there are other solar public investments that went belly up with Obamas public investments. Then there is the Chevy VOLT … another obama loser. How about Obamas take over of GM and giving it to the unions at stock and bond holder expense. What about all the stimulus money that made its way to foreign countries and corporations? There are many more of these “untimely investments” that consumed what you call “public investment”. How in hell can you keep defending this loser who was never fit for the presidency in the first place. There is only one answer to this question.

    • http://incerely, truesoy

  • tom

How ironic that everything that BO says about Romney and others is exactly what he has actually done himself !!!

  • chuckb

bin laden is irrelevant and was when he died. so whats changed since we got him, your hero is backing the muslim brotherhood to take over the middle east, these are the same terrorist that were fighting us all along in pakistan and iraq, you call them al qaeda, same difference. the muslim in chief is their brother. so you think we are going to set by and let israel fall, even barry wouldn’t dare do that. the jewish cabinet he has wouldn’t let that happen. so what are you going to do when barry has to make a choice, blame that on bush and cheney? and the people who supply the war material you call war profiteers, oh, that will be ok, barry needs our support. you bolhevik types make me laugh.

green energy, lol, when are you going to come down out of the tree? we don’t need green energy, we have all the energy we need and then some. all this bs about global warming, only ignorant people couid fall for this political charade. solar power, wind power and batteries, what a laugh, we have gas closing in on more than four dollars pg and these idiots wonder what’s happening to the economy.
solar, wind and batteries will not work, they have tried for over a hundred years and it still isn’t feasible. i guess we could go back to the horse and buggy, of course what are you going to do with the horse droppings, oh! yeah, i guess that would employ some more government workers to shovel up the hs.

Obamas tax the rich policy relates perfectly to past history.
What did the Marxists do right after the Great Proletariat Revolution?
They ” taxed the rich” at 100% ( confiscated all property from the rich) Then they “shared the wealth ( social justice) with the proletariat ( the people were ” not as fortunate or lucky”). Apparently history is repeating itself and it seems like there is a lot in common; the difference being measured by percentage points.

To be brief, raising taxes on the wealthy by not extending tha Bush cuts will do nothing but hurt the fragile economy because it will be viewed by them a disinitenion to investment. It will play on their psychology that way and it just makes things that much worse for everybody. And Obama has been the most disgusting President in my lifetime and I started with Eisehower

WHO IS THE INDIVIDUAL WHO WILL HELP THE PEOPLE ? WHY IS IT THAT THE MIDDLE CLASS SEEMS TO BE THE RESPONCIBLE GROUP, WHEN LOWER CLASS INDIVIDUALS DON’T PAY ANY TAXES AND THE RICH SEEM TO GET ALL THE BREAKS, AND GET OFF FREE, BECAUSE OF ALL THEIR DEDUCTIONS. IT’S THE MIDDLE CLASS WHO ALWAYS SUFFERS, AND TAKES UP THE SLACK FOR THE RICH AND THE POOR . PEOPLE, WE NEED A FAIR SOLUTION, FOR EVERYONE INVOLVED HERE. WHY NOT TAKE A 12% OR MORE PERCENT FROM THE RICH, 7 % FROM THE MIDDLE CLASS AND 3 % FROM THE POOR. THE MIDDLE CLASS ENDS UP NOT BENG ABLE TO KEEP UP WITH THE ECONOMY AND THEIR BILLS, WHILE THE RICH HAVE AN ABUNDANCE OF MONEY LEFT, AND ARE NOT FIGHTING TO STAY OUT OF DEBT. WHO THINKS UP THESE RULES ANYWAY? CERTAINLY NOT THE CONSTITUTION. GETTING RID OF THE EXTRAS IN THE WHITE HOUSE, THOSE WHO SPEND OUR MONEY. IT’S LIKE A BAD NIGHTMARE, LOWER GOVERNMENT AND GET RID OF ALL THE CRAZY AMOUNTS OF MONEY GOING OUT FOR INSURMOUNTABLE, UNREALISTIC GROUPS OF THOSE EMPLOYED, WHO DO NOTHING, WHILE WE THE PEOPLE FOOT THE BILLS BY PAYING TAXES. THE WHITE HOUSE COULD PUT US BACK IN THE PINK AND GET OUR COUNTRY BACK WHERE IT NEEDS TO BE , WITH ALL OF THE UNNESSESARY SPENDING THAT IS ACTUALLY CRIMINAL IN CONTENT. AS FOR THE AVERAGE AMERICAN, WE NEED TO GO BACK TO SIMPLISTIC GOVERNMENT AND GET RID OF THE CZARS AND CHICAGO GANSTERS WHO ARE MAKING RULES FOR OUR COUNTRY AND TAKING AWAY OUR AGENCY THAT ALLOWS US TO MAKE OUR OWN RIGHTFUL JUDGEMENTS. WE DON’T NEED TO HAVE OUR VOCABULARY CHANGED TO FIT OBAMAS INSECURE ISSUES. WE ARE THE AMERICANS, THIS IS OUR LAND, AND NEVER HAS BEEN HIS. THE PROBLEM IS WE CAN’T TRUST ANYONE IN GOVERNMENT, AND MEN ARE NOT MEN ANYMORE. THEY WATCH, THEY TALK, BUT IT STOPS THERE. WHERE ARE THE REAL MEN WHO WILL FIGHT FOR THIS COUNTRY. WHERES A GEORGE WASHINGTON, A LINCOLN, A CHRISMATIC PERSON WHO WILL GET THE MEN OFF THEIR BUTTS, COUCHES WHO ARE SIMPLY BLOW HARDS, WITH NOT A CLUE HOW TO KEEP THE CONSTITUTION IN PLACE. WHAT WILL IT TAKE TO BRING AMERICA BACK AS THE COUNTRY IT ONCE WAS. WHERE ARE OUR HEROS? MY PRFESSIONAL NAME IS ANGELO AS IN MICHAEL, BECAUSE I’M A DESIGN ARTIST AND INTERIOR DECORATOR. AND I AM A WOMAN WITH A WONDERFUL HUSBAND, LARGE FAMILY AND MANY GRANDCHILDREN, AND GREAT GRANDCHILDREN. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE FAMILIES OF AMERICA. ARE YOU ????????? ANGELO
