Obama Lays Out Job Creation Strategy, Fires Back At Political Foes

December 15, 2009 by

Obama lays out job creation strategy, fires back at political foesLast week, President Obama delivered a much-anticipated speech where he outlined his job creation proposal, while also taking a few shots at some of his political adversaries.

Obama proposed a one-year elimination of the capital gains tax on small business investment in an effort to promote economic expansion in the private sector. He also plans to offer business owners tax credits to boost hiring and unused Wall Street bailout money to increase lending.

Two other programs that the president discussed include a substantial investment in infrastructure and a government sponsored "green" initiative that will give people rebates to retrofit their home to become more energy efficient.

Before Obama spoke of future plans for economic growth, he pointed the finger back at those who opposed his previous recovery plan.

"We were forced to take those steps [to jump-start the economy] largely without the help of an opposition party which, unfortunately, after having presided over the decision-making that had led to the crisis, decided to hand it over to others to solve," he stated.

Meanwhile, Republicans have been fuming over the decision to take unused Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) money and spend it on another stimulus program.

"Any [money] left over was meant to go to the deficit," said Congressman John Boehner (R-Ohio). "The idea of taking this money and spending it is repulsive," he added.

Government is way off its leash when it feels it can stimulate the economy and create jobs. Those are communist values, and fly squarely in the face of what it is that made America great.

      Amen Brother!

What we have here is a failure to communicate. The majority of Americans have communicated to Washington to stop this irrational spending and stop infringing on our lives. Washington has responded by giving us their middle fingers. So, what we have here is a failure to communicate. And the failure is by all those bums in Washington.

Obama proposed a one-year elimination of the capital gains tax on small business investment in an effort to promote economic expansion in the private sector. If we could change this one part of President Obama’s to read elimination of the capital gains tax on small business investment permanently and actually fund the loss in revenue the way any home budget or business funds a loss in revenue, by fiscal responsibility and either reducing spending on areas of frivolity, or creating a new income stream with another job or new product line. This could be the first compromise on an Obama idea I could get behind. Tax elimination is good.

Kirk, I believe a small business is taxed on its income (not capital gains). Normally, a small business does not produce income via capital gains. Ergo, once again, comrade obama is full of it, and he is relying on the idea that no one will call his bluff.
His non-awareness of economics will keep coming back to haunt him. Frankly, even for a politician, it is rare to see someone who believes everything that comes out of his own mouth.
Could it be that comrade obama is in love with himself? You know what they call someone who worships himself . . .

There has to be an end to all of this tax and spend and barrow and spend. I think it is coming in 2010 election if we are still a country at that time. Our representatives have stopped listening to their constituents and are sing-in in a different choir.
The time has come to take this country back and get people into office that know how to follow instruction from the ones who hired them.
Term limits, eliminate corruption and prosecute those involved if there is enough jails, and stop all of the (I did nothing wrong)when $80,000 dollars was found in a freezer, this is only one example There are many more.

We must start to tell everyone we know about the facts from Washington.

It must be a verbal campaign… you tell ten of your friends, they tell ten of their friends and so for.

At issue is HOW to KICK the SOB’s out of office in other states and communities.

American Patriots have been a dying breed. Washington has no, will not and can not listen to Mainstream America.

We must talk about voting out all those on the Hill with more than three terms in office. Taking their health benefits away and PUTTING them on the same health care system that they WANT TO PASS… when they retire… we must also cut their retirement in half… and they get no extra benefits from any taxpayer money.

We have to put people in office… that DO NOT WANT to be Career Politicians and establish term limits.

We have to start advocating the IMPEACHMENT of OBAMA..

The Career politicians are the MAIN part of the problem. The leaders spend taxpayer dollars to BUY the votes that they need to pass crappy bills..

The list goes on and on… and the pork and earmarks get larger and larger… OVER 10,000 last year alone.. then they go back to their states and cities and brag about bringing back jobs, and money… SO that they can be re-elected again and again.

JC, Robert and Kirk, you nailed it! There isn’t much for the rest of us to say. Government is once again jamming its huge, mutant nose where it DOES NOT BELONG. A major failure to communicate is but one of comrade obama’s MANY faults. If comrade obama gave a damn about small business [he DOES NOT], he wouldn’t be in a position where he needs to correct a situation that HE consciously made worse. It took him HOW long to think about acting on it? Oh, yeah, he “cares.”
Last, comrade obama, the new prince of polls, is having a major disconnect with the American people. May it CONTINUE and FESTER until he finally admits
that he belongs elsewhere, and that whatever his reputation is in coming years, it will NOT be seen as positive. Anyone who willingly combines the unconscionable traits of FDR, Carter, Clinton, Aaron Burr and Saul Alinsky merits a place in history that NO ventriloquist’s dummy of a progressive historical revisionist will ever whitewash. GOOD RIDDANCE TO BAD RUBBISH!

      s c,
We need to find a good conservative man or woman and push for the repubs to run him. tell them if they value their jobs they had better run him or we will vote for someone else not a repub. When you get your mail from the repubs don’t throw it away. return it with a message that says no money till you return to your conservative roots!!! Hit them in the pockets where it hurts them the most!!! Tell them to run a true dyed in the wool conservative or don’t bother running as we will not support a RINO !!! Then if they DO run a conservative go door to door and tell people about the man or woman and tell them what they stand for. tell them how this supports them. Tell it from the heart not the head(rote memory sounds so plastic). We can do it this way if O-mans people can!!! God Bless America AGAIN!!!

      • Claire

Joe H—I agree with you on this. I receive letters from both parties asking for donations! And WHERE are you/we going to find this true, honest, loyal person that will dedicate his/her first commitment to Americans and America? I cannot think of one person that I trust to do this.

The current administration needs to realize they are nothing and unable to control anything. Government’s job is make sure that all the resources are managed efficiently and productively. God is the creator of all things. His has created a planet that is perfect and with plenty of resiliency. It is only in God’s timing that all will come to an end. Until then, we can rest assurdely that the planet will be fine.

  • Warrior

Woe is me. Wasn’t this guy a congresscreature and then a senator before his big promotion? Uh, I was but I wasn’t part of the problem.

When will Obama stop treating Bush and the Republicans as his “bogeymen”? Whether or not he “inherited” his problems and has to deal with the “opposition party” (who in actuality are so “powerful” they could step out to a movie and not affect the voting on anything), he needs to man up and begin taking responsibility. He is the freakin’ President and he’s still campaigning and in essence still voting “present” because he refuses to take responsibility for anything unless it looks good on him, such as the rescue of the ship captain from pirates. Bush has not said anything against Obama, graciously acknowledging that Obama “deserved his silence”, despite Clinton and Carter taking every chance to roast Bush when he was in office, yet like a middle school bully who thinks his victim is weaker, Obama refuses to leave Bush alone. Instead, he continues to blame Bush. It is almost a year into Obama’s presidency and he still blames Bush. When he loses in 2012, I’m sure he’ll keep wheeling out the Bush bogeyman, refusing to get it…

    • Joe H.

      Jen,
bush is silent because he knows it will only help O-man if he speaks as the bully will suddenly be alive and O-man will be the poor, poor helpless victim!!!

  • Claire

Do you know what I have often thought? (And’t don make fun of me.) I have always admired and respected Margaret Thatcher. It is a shame we don’t have someone like her in America. I would vote for her in a heartbeat.

  • Peter L. Griffiths

The best stimulus for job creation is a weekly $100 subsidy payable to employers for each employee working more than 16 hours during the week.

  • Peter L. Griffiths

Further to my job creation comment of 28 February 2010, as a result of this weekly $100 subsidy for employers, the employers’ output should be cheaper, this should reduce Government expenditure on the same output.
