        I would like to point out to you that America is NOT a Democracy (as you imply by stating, “He always does what the people want.”). A Democracy is two wolves and a sheep vote for what is for dinner. The U.S. is a Democratic-Republic that is supposed to be governed by the “Rule of Law”, aka The Constitution.

        It does NOT matter what the majority wants if it contravenes the Constitution, which Romneycare and Obamacare do regardless of what the Supreme Court says.

        One would do well to watch this video: , which concisely explains what a Republic is and why every other political system (including Democracies) always morph into a Totalitarian Oligarchy.

        The thing that one should recognize is that when the same people (The Goldman Sachs crowd and the banking elite) who supported the “immaculation” (Yes, I am aware this is NOT a real word) of Barry Soetoro, son of Frank Marshall Davis, are now supporting Romney then nothing will change under a Romney regime other than the so-called left will be reawakened, and the so-called right will fall back asleep, just like they were under the Bush regime.

        When the PTB control both parties nothing will change for the better, their plan for the NWO will still be implemented. The Constitution has been rendered moot, and thanks to Bush, his fear-mongering, and the Patriot Act the Bill of Rights have become a Bill of Privileges.

        Interesting to say the least but he is writer not an actor and he demonstrates it with aplomb. As for the healthcare laws…..if you want to live in a system that treats the effects of disease rater than the disease itself, by all means us a US “doctor”. I myself roll over to Windsor Canada and see a system that works to keep you healthy. And I am not the only US captive that does this. I mean, lets face it, for the amount of $ we spend on healthcare it can be said that we get the least bang for the buck. And the worst care for the dollar spent. And with insurance death panels making the choices for us (many times depending on status and cash reserves) starting with denial of services there will never be anything other than this interesting, but deadly, system for the middleclass and the poor (the 99%ers).

        Those who say people are lining up in Canada to come here and get medical “aid” should ask Canadians how many would trade in there system for ours…..answer wold be about .01%……

        Wrong answer smilee. It is a violation of the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution. The part that says if you opt out, you have to pay a fine to the IRS every year. Sorry dude, but you seemed to have missed the boat on that one. Starting in 2014, if my wife and I opt out we will have to pay the IRS $1000, 2015-$1500, 2016-maxes out at $1600-$2000 a year. That is the part that is unconstitutional. The reason it was passed because Obama bin Laden changed it to being a tax, also the chief justice was either going by politics or was bought off. Obama bin Laden already was threatening the SCOTUS before they deliberated on it. You also said about atheists? Never mentioned anything like you are talking about. Can atheists be patriots? No. Why? First, there are no atheists in foxholes. Since you have never served, you cannot understand. Second, since they are not bound by any kind of moral or ethical code, they cannot really do any good will towards their fellow man.         Sammie is absolutely correct! Atheists, for the very words you gave credibility to, do not, can not have morals. They only have momentary, temporally directed emotional reactions.

        Morals are guides for living based on principles enunciated by the One who dreamed up and created the heavens and the earth and everything in them. Morals are His simple explanations of how to behave in order for people to exist without descending into chaos and utterly tear each other apart. He doesn’t go into huge explanations or in-depth soliloquies of how our bodies, hormones, nervous systems, physical and emotional needs fit with the environment, physical and spiritual worlds along with every other variable, pressure, enticement, evil or good we might need to comprehend to enable us to know what He knows so we can act responsibly.
        No, He just expounds a simple rubric that exhorts us to behave in a certain way for our own benefit and (if we, also, worship Him in the manner which He says He will accept) He will work out the the minor details for us that protect us and keep things working smoothly.
        Morals, manners and protocols are kind of like the oil in a sardine can. Since man is a gregarious beast we need a little lubricant. Anyone who refuses to observe them and worship the True God in the manner He requests is sort of like a Shiite suicide bomber in a Sunni wedding party.
        So, your atheism disqualifies you from being a moral agent. You are at best an emotional animal responding to what ever you perceive to fulfill the greatest desire you want or have at the moment.
        Having thoroughly divorced yourself from God there is really no justification for your existence. Go. Take care of that. One less porcupine fish in society won’t be missed.

        Fact is that RomneyCare as proposed and passed by Romney IS being grossly misrepresented by the entire media, which makes the general public speak authoritatively in ignorance. Fact is that “RomneyCare” had veto overrides by the predominantly Democrat Massachusettes legislature, AND fact is that individual mandate is legal on the state level, but not on the federal level. Fact is that Romney’s original plan was modified by the successor governor and the democrat legislature and Romney is getting blasted for what it IS, not what he proposed. Fact is that the original RomneyCare would have increased the individual’s ability to purchase the type insurance he wanted at an affordable price……. but Romney’s successor destroyed the plan with his changes. CHECK IT OUT.

        JKF was killed because on June 4, 1963, a little known attempt was made to strip the Federal Reserve Bank of its power to loan money to the government at interest. On that day President John F. Kennedy signed Executive Order No. 11110 that returned to the U.S. government the power to issue currency, without going through the Federal Reserve.       The problem with the ACA was that it was sold to the public as something that could be done under the commerce clause. It was determined that that was not the case. Roberts used some convoluted logic to get to the tax part. It was a huge bait and switch propagated against the American people. It might have been a constitutional win for Obama but it will certainly not be a political one. I eagerly wait for your comments come November.

            Has Romney ever stood up to his Church concerning its racial policies? Those policies only changed in 1978 (Romney was 31) because no other schools would play BYU and it was costing the school lots of MONEY.

            BTW: Romney’s memory problems aren’t limited to his inability to remember which position he held on which issue last year or 5 years ago, or when he ran for the Senate or for the Governorship of Massachusetts. Neither he nor his father (who I think was a great guy compared to his son) ever marched with Martin Luther King.

            Romney was very effective at making money for his investors. They made money by locating companies they could load with debt and walk away with the assets. Yes, they also had an investment banking side and can tout success stories, but most of their business was a “chop shop” where the assets went to Bain, the workers got the shaft, and the company and its creditors were essentially looted. Romney’s entire record of business success depended on government policies and his ability to manipulate them. His use of debt was, in many instances, tantamount to fraud, but encouraged by the tax code.

          I’m not quite as old as you, but I do remember Nixon. In fact, the summer after my first year in college I spent a lot of time watching the Watergate Hearings. Best political theatre at least until the 2012 Republican debates!

          If you examine the performance of the stock market under Democratic and Republican Administrations going back as long as you want (say 100 years), there’s no comparison. Under Democrats, the market has gone up hundreds of % more than under Republicans. In any given year that might not mean much, but when it happens decade after decade for a century or more, there must be a reason.

          As dishonest as Nixon was, at least he always looked like he was lying. Romney has that earnest, honest-looking face, but his dishonesty goes beyond Nixon. If he gets elected, we can only hope he’s lying about what he intends to do and won’t actually go along with the Crazies on everything.

        It assumes that changes in economic direction due to administration policies have immediate or short term effects on the stock market. They do not. The economy is grindingly slow in responding to policy changes by the government. Thus, Clinton rode on the successes of Reaganomics, which brought us the longest sustained period of business prosperity in US history.

        It tries to convey the glaringly false assumption that the health of the stock market is a barometer of the nation’s economic health in general. It is not. By your reckoning, the rebound of the markets under Obama would point to a booming period of prosperity. How’s that working for you? Tell your tale to the unemployed, the record numbers of those on food stamps and welfare recipients.

        It goes wildly wrong in discarding one of the most important factors, the party which is dominant in Congress. Your “statistics” would “prove” something quite different than you assert if that influence were taken into account.

        I know the above is difficult for you to understand. Get a dictionary, a tutor and psychological help to move beyond your one-dimensional “true believer”mind. Perhaps you might take a course in basic macroeconomics before you shoot your mouth off and once again look the idiot. You are fooling no one with a normal intelligence.”

      Am not a Republican. Am not a Democrat. Am not a name caller. Point well taken. Am keenly aware of Justice Robert’s final comment, and that DOJ should read DOL as justice is at best hit or miss disseminated via law. Like so many other Americans, I have not read nor tried to fully comprehend this new law, but rather rely on the experience gained from seeing what other new laws from the crony encrusted government have produced. It is, however, my hope, that as long as this law survives, it will bring some scrutiny to and shed some light on the miserable state of the American medical establishment as a whole – and bring a heavy hand down on Big Pharma and the FDA as well.

        What the decision established and reinforced is that the congress has the power to lay and collect taxes to provide for the general welfare as the Constitution clearly says. The founders did not define general welfare and this ruling clearly means that health care is included in the general welfare and as health care is something all people use some of and is 17% of gnp how can any honest person argue against this ruling, it is clearly within the power of congress to do this and the court has upheld that. The fact you do not like it means nothing to this discussion

        Funny how Obama has always held that ObamaCare’s “individual mandate” is absolutely, positively NOT a tax and Justice Robert’s thought differntly enough to “re-write” the mandate and turn it into a tax.

        “The Federal Government does not have the power to order people to buy health insurance. Section 5000A would therefore be unconstitutional if read as a command. The Federal Government does have the power to impose a tax on those without health insurance. Section 5000A is therefore constitutional, because it can reasonably be read as a tax.”

        The court was silent about the 20 other different taxes hidden in ObamaCare, more than half of which affect families earning less than $250,000 a year.

        It’s a tax on middle class Americans who don’t have health insurance, who are self-employed, who have high-deductible policies ObamaCare doesn’t allow anymore.

        I can’t wait to watch President Obama on the campaign trail celebrating his huge tax hike. I can’t wait to watch him answer the question “Why did you keep telling us over and over that the mandate ISN’T a tax?”

        First of all the court never said it was a massive tax, those are your words. Roberts did not rewrite any part of the law. The solicitor general for the Obama administration argued before the court that it was allowable under both the commerce clause and the taxing powers clause. Insurance companies can now only use 15% of their group premiums collected for profit and overhead and 20% on individual premiums, (currently that has been between 25% and 40%) bankruptcy loses from health care are expected to drop 90%, these will now be income to providers and subject to tax and no longer a tax write off, this added income for providers will be added profit for them, a lot less use of the emergency rooms creating more savings etc. etc. that is why you can not just look at it from the tax angle. This law will in time reduce overall net cost of health care and provide improvements for a lot of people, no limiting life time coverage’s, no preexisting conditions etc etc as well as 30 million more covered by insurance and the insurance costs will be cheaper than taxpayers paying directly for their care. Look at the big picture and then you can get the whole picture instead of all this complaining. I understand you do not like the law but that will not change anything. Open your mind and see the truth.

    it will be funny when a business owner with 49 employees thinks he’s safe from offering an insurance plan, only to find out he’s considered an employee himself. can you see the punchline coming? he has to fire one of his employees! ha ha ha! here’s another chuckle, he will never ever grow his business or buy out a competitor, absolutely no matter what. so now his 48 employees have to get insurance on their own or violate the law. making minimum wage how will they handle that? of course we are reassured it will be subsidized for them, but probably only as a tax credit reimbursement, after they paid out 500 a month each for a whole year. and here’s the kicker, not only are they basically healthy, but if they do see the doctor they confront a $500 deductible. this is where the govt is forcing people and businesses to make all kinds of hard decisions, and this complication of their lives and resulting hardship is found constitutional by the supreme court? well there is one group that will be helped. the fat ones of society can now belly up to the buffet line knowing that those healthy minimum wagers are now in the insurance pool, subsidizing their inevitable health problems. no editor would accept this as a manuscript.

        Most senior managers are overpaid elitists who don’t own the company, did not start the company, and often hardly know what is made by the company. They get their jobs through family and friends with connections in high places. They are the untitled royalty. They make decisions based on feathering their own nests, and hire people to do all the real work. They answer to stockholders who, unless they have very large holdings, are powerless to regulate their actions and rates of pay. Instead of investing in new ideas, they increase profits by cutting expenses and exporting jobs.

They even write the laws for the legislators so they have time to play golf.

        The President needs to be an advocate for the people. The Chamber of Commerce is there to argue that w/o environmental regulations, profits can be higher. The people deserve some input concerning the quality of the air they breathe and the quality of the nation in which they live.

      norm, nah, the employees should get new jobs, that would be easier. there are many businesses that have extremely close margins, but they do manage to pay their employees contrary to your assertion. the last time employees weren’t paid was in the south up until 1863, i think. if you ever go to a tire shop you will see that no one there is wearing tuxes, even the owner who has a much dirt under his fingernails as the guys on the floor. he might not even have insurance himself. i think your business experience is working in a design studio where they set up a brochure for a company sales meeting and get $12,000. or you work for the dnc or naral. oh yeah, they can afford to handle insurance. bring it on.

      However any business has costs. These costs include materials, labor, and other expenses including taxes. All businesses producing similar products and services have the same burden.
      If this country is to survive and remain(?) a great power, and the envy of the world, businesses must pay employees livable compensation, and pay taxes to support government. Armies, highways, social programs, etc. don’t come free of charge.
      If we need to leave a couple of extra bucks at the hamburger stand – so be it.

    You know, if you don’t or CAN’T pay your income taxes, the IRS can take your property & auction it off to cover your taxes. I’m wondering if it will come to that, if a family can’t pay these Obamacare TAXES, that are imposed on them! It just seems to me like this is just another step in the direction of making the whole general population a “slave” to the government! If the government can impose this requirement on it’s citizens, then they can certainly raise the premium to the point that we’re not able to pay them!! THEN WHAT?????? The citizens of America had better wake up BEFORE it’s too late,……..like before November!!

    Obama ran on health care reform in 2008 and won the election. He who wins an election has a mandate to try to accomplish what he ran for.

    The way I see it people don’t have to pay that penalty tax if they get health insurance. People without health insurance who all of a sudden badly need healthcare and can’t pay for it, we the public, the taxpayers, have to pay for them. In the end it’s a matter of personal responsibility and justice for all.

    Without the Affordable Healthcare Act people without insurance will keep climbing( why should I pay if he doesn’t have to ?) and taxpayers will pick up the tab and this will keep on going and become the basis of US universal healthcare.

    I think there are a bunch of hidden roadblocks in the ruling. Anybody who thinks the “donks” won a round needs to read the rulung. First, since the “contribution” is in the form of a tax, congress can simply de-fund it with a 51% vote. Chief Justice Roberts just gave the congress a very easy way to eliminate the entire bill. Congress has the power over taxation not the occupant of the White House. Secondly, and probably most importantly this ruling has made the DNC’s interpretation of the “Commerce Clause” unconstitutional. Since WW2 they have passed untold numbers of bills with the only possible link to being Constitutional is their very liberal interpretation of the “Commerce Clause” of the Constutution. Now it has been defined. As I see it federal welfare, the Department of Education, the EPA, the department of energy and many other bureaucracies, grant programs other vote buying programs that were created and deemed constitutional by the “commerce clause” have been ruled unconstitutional.

          If you think Romney and the Republicans give a DAMN about your view of Christianity, you’re sadly mistaken. They want tax cuts and non-regulation of business. They don’t care what you think about Jesus or anybody else. They’ll talk up the social issues like prayer in the schools to get your vote, but all they care about is huge profits for themselves. If huge profits come at the expense of jobs, the environment, etc., they don’t care.

          By the way, saying the same thing over and over doesn’t make it any more correct. You certainly can be a patriot without believing in God. In fact, if you truly followed Jesus, you would not be so concerned about the affairs of any one nation.       (19) A restricted power to declare the punishment of Treason (Art. III, §3, cl. 2);

      (20) Implementation of the Full Faith and Credit clause (Art. IV, §1); and,

      (21) Procedures for amendments to The Constitution (Art. V).

      The 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 19th, 23rd, 24th, & 26th Amendments grant additional powers to Congress respecting civil rights & voting rights, the public debt [lawfully incurred], income tax, successions to vacated offices, dates of assembly, and appointment of representatives from the D.C.

      Congress has NO AUTHORITY to bail out financial institutions, businesses, and homeowners who don’t pay their mortgages; NO AUTHORITY to take control of our health care; NO AUTHORITY to pass laws denying secret ballots to employees who are solicited for membership by labor unions; NO AUTHORITY to take away your IRA’s and other retirement accounts, NO AUTHORITY to pass laws respecting energy consumption or “emissions”, education, housing, etc., etc., etc.

          The States composing the United States of America are not united on the principle of unlimited submission to the federal government; but that, with the Constitution for the United States, they established a federal government for limited purposes only. That they delegated to this federal government only limited and enumerated powers; and reserved, each State to itself, all remaining powers, along with the right to their own self-government.

          That whenever the federal government assumes undelegated powers, its acts are unauthoritative, void, and of no force.

          The federal government is not a party to the Constitution, but is merely the creature of the Constitution; and as the mere creature, was not made the exclusive or final judge of the extent of the powers delegated to it; since that would have made the creature’s will, and not the Constitution, the measure of its powers.

          The Federalist Papers – and not the U.S. Supreme Court – is the highest authority and evidence “of the general opinion of those who framed, and of those who accepted the Constitution of the U.S. on questions as to its genuine meaning”.

          People do not seem to understand our Founding Principles: Our Declaration of Independence says, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. – That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, – That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it.

          The federal government operates with our consent only when it restricts itself to the powers WE delegated to it – when it obeys the Constitution. When it exercises usurped powers which have not been delegated to it, it becomes illegitimate.

          Congress is NOT authorized to pass laws just because a majority in Congress say the laws promote the “general welfare”! OUR FOUNDERS UNDERSTOOD that the “general Welfare”, i.e., the enjoyment of peace and prosperity, and the enjoyment of the ordinary blessings of society and civil government, was possible only with a civil government which was strictly limited and restricted in what it was given power to do!

          The “interstate commerce” clause: “Commerce” is the buying and selling of goods – only that and nothing more. Webster’s American Dictionary (1828) says “commerce” is an interchange or mutual change of goods, wares, productions, or property of any kind, between nations or individuals… by barter, or by purchase and sale; trade; traffick… inland commerce…is the trade in the exchange of commodities between citizens of the same nation or state.”

          Federalist No. 22 (4th para), Federalist No. 42 (9th &10th paras), Federalist No. 44 (at 2.), and Federalist No. 56 (5th & 6th paras), explain the two purposes of the “interstate commerce” clause: (1) to prohibit the States from imposing tolls and tariffs on articles of import and export – goods & commodities – merchandize – as they are transported through the States for purposes of buying and selling; and (2) to permit the federal government to impose duties on imports and exports, both inland and abroad.

          The 1942 Wickard decision (leave it to the Supreme Court) basically told the federal government it could do anything it wanted to do.

    To those of you who keep citing Romney’s MA health care as a way to criticize him – uh, have you stopped to consider that the Constitution specifically forbids the Feds to do most things and instead gives that power to the states? It’s called States’ Rights and was intended to keep most things affecting our daily lives in the hands of local authorities, not the power-grabbing corruption-infused DC gang.     Unless real change is made we are facing an impending collapse of our economy as more of our resources are put toward caring for the chronically ill.

    We need a proactive rather than reactive approach to medicine which addresses the causes of disease and optimizes biologic function in the body’s core physiologic systems, rather than just treating symptoms.

    Our current model of medicine is unsustainable because it cannot stem the rising tide of chronic disease.

    Relying only on reforms in coverage or access, financing, electronic records, malpractice, medical errors, coordination of care, and research on new drug therapies while retaining the conventional acute-care model — will be untenable in the long run.

    To be sure, such reforms are necessary, but not sufficient to avoid the collapse of our healthcare system, which may soon dwarf our current financial crisis if the Medicare trust fund runs out in 2016 as projected. According to the “Status of the Social Security and Medicare Programs” annual trustees report published, the program is actually bankrupt right now. It’s taken in less money than it has paid out.

    The reforms in Obamacare do not alter the fundamental approach to prevention and treatment.

    If we focus on improving the way we practice the medicine of the past, we will still have the medicine of the past. If we improve the wrong type of care, then we will simply be doing the wrong things better. Our current medical education focuses on sickness rather than health; journals publish about disease management not what causes disease. This is why we spend more money than any other industrialized nation on healthcare yet are near the bottom of the list for all major health outcomes. This is why we are witnessing a decline in life expectancy for the first time in history.

    What is needed is a new “operating system” or method for problem solving and processing complex clinical information. This type of medicine is available today.Simply put, a new approach would identify why our underlying biology is imbalanced and correct those imbalances. Then our body’s natural healing intelligence takes over and automatically fixes what is ailing us.

      Larry Grossrock $ 25 million Wellpoint
      John Rowe $ 22.2 million Aetna
      Edward Hanway $ 13.2 million Cigna
      Howard Phanstiel $ 3.3 million Pacificare

      I am not suggesting here that we try to get those salaries reduced – rather that that information goes some way to explaining why health costs are so high.

      Once before I asked the question what job is WORTH $10 million per year, and no one has yet answered it. Under our system of economics and/or finance, people who do not produce any physical THING get paid the highest, and those who produce the items we need, cups, chairs, tables, knives, etc. get paid the least. We COULD live without estate agents, bankers, financial advisers, et al, but we CANNOT live without the people who make things. Since the latter make up the majority of our workforce, it would seem that the status quo will remain, since it is controlled by the few oligarcs who do the actual decision making.

      And speaking of those oligarcs, watching the videos linked in these posts have enlightened me as to what is really going on with our present existence, something I was in ignorance of and oblivious to, before seeing them. App[arently, no amount of voting will change anything, this coming from a non eligible voter!

There are folks in Hollywood, TV, baseball, basketball, football, finance, manufacturing, who draw (not necessarily earn) salaries and benefits as good as the Health Care execs you target.         People who can drive company sales into the billions of dollars are generally smarter, better educated, and are top notch problem solvers. They are few and far between. Say you find such a guy and you agree to pay him 1% of sales (how do you get a better reward system based on performance) and so cheaply. If the guy takes you to a billion dollars in sales, he gets paid $100 million. Or you can hire a guy for say $100,000 and get the revenge of the “C” student.

          Check your math, Einstein. The problem is when CEOs get pay packages totally out of synch with their value to the company. Plus, the incentives get screwed up. Instead of improving the health of the company for the shareholders over the long run, CEOs are incentivized to get the stock price up in the next quarter, sometimes to the long-term detriment of the company.

          The key is real disclosure to the shareholders. Often, with interlockling directorates, the real pay packages with their stock options and golden parachutes are not effectiely disclosed to shareholders. Maybe if the stock options couldn’t be exercised for 10 years you’d see CEOs, etc. looking out more for the long-term health of the company and not looking to cash out right away.

    One way of looking at Roberts’s slight-of-hand decision to vote in favor of Obamacare is that a tax is a tax (Obama has argued all along that it was NOT a tax). Roberts, who is a supposed conservative, voted the way of the liberals, a massive expansion of federal government taxing power. Just what we don’t need.

    Supply-siders like myself argue that when you tax something you get less of it. With Judge Roberts throwing in with the liberals on the Court to expand federal tax powers, we now face the massive threat of ultra-slow economic growth in the U.S. for years to come.

    The Roberts Court has served up a “tax mandate” that is more powerful than the still-limited Commerce Clause regulatory mandate. Roberts has created a huge new loophole. Instead of new purchase mandates, we’ll have new purchase tax mandates.

    In no other time in U.S. history has the government been able to tell the people that it’s going to stick it up their asses and not worry about any backflash of consequence.

      Having just agreed with Peabody that the Health Industry needs changing, I have to disagree with him that supply side economics is the way to go. I feel that demand side economics is the mitigating factor – it doesn’t matter what any business makes if NO ONE can afford to buy it.

      As for the tax situation in this country, presently I am in a quandary. Theoretically, all is a scam, in that the Federal Reserve was founded on a deception, BUT the government does need taxes in order to operate, even on a limited basis, as “decreed” by the Constitution.

      What to do, we can’t all upt out under UCC legalities, or can we?

        I think taxation is used to control inflation. Government prints money, spends it, and doesn’t really expect income taxes to cover their spending. Today, taxes are on income/production which are suppressed by them. If we tax consumption instead, we suppress somewhat (by some 3% as stated by CATO) consumer spending and not business production and at the same time close the loop around the economy which keeps inflation in check. A national retail sales tax does this. The collection mechanism is already in place by States who charge sales tax.

    Someone has suggested that the SCOTUS Chief Justice was gotten to. Either threats of some sort or high-powered rhetoric to support the idealistic(!) Congress and their law to put 17% or more of our GDP under the collective thumb of hordes of bureaucrats, out of whole cloth, to metamorphose a mandate regulation into a LAW, with no mention of a challenge later when it goes into effect and harms a citizen or group.
    It reminds me of the 1973 decision to legalize abortion nationwide created out of thin air, inventing a new notion of “privacy” which has no hint in the U.S.Constitution, making an unborn child a mere appendage to the “mother,” with the same status as a mole or an ovary, subject to excision at her whim or impulse.
    One is inclined to ask: How long will it be before euthanasia comes before this “Court?” And becomes a “Right” or a “urgent need” of the nation……….?

    The Declaration of Independence was partly intended as a list of grievances against a distant monarch. And both George III and the colonists who disagreed with his rule are long dead.     RomneyCare was, is and always will be “so horrible”. That is a fact. It was in RomneyCare, the part were “if you cannot afford insurance we will help you get it anyway but fining you through the IRS until you get it” was just one nasty GOP thing.     Now when Obama presented his Ocare to the committee the GOP told him if he didn’t add their GOP goodies, more GOP junk than just the penalty I mention in the last paragraph, we, the GOP, will see to it that your Obamacare fails the vote.

    Obama didn’t want any of the hurtful GOP stuff but to get stuff done in DC there is the compromise. The Obill, with its GOP messes, went in, it was past, Chief Roberts oked it as constitutional and hopefully they can work on it to get the GOP junk out of it during Obama’s 2ns term.

    Romney will crucify any of us who aren’t a big corporations and he will deny reality along the way until he forgets about us after the election whoever wins, he or Obama. When Romney speaks Koch wording comes out. He hates Obamacare but he will repeal what if he gets elected?     Regardless, Ayn Rand believed that rights are conditions of existence required by man’s nature for his proper survival which includes the survival of others. If life on earth is his purpose, he has a right to live as a rational being. Nature forbids him the irrational. Any group, any gang, any nation that attempts to negate man’s rights, is wrong. Ayn Rand also saw “rights” as attributes which may be held and enjoyed at no expense or loss to any other person. I see little in her statements that could offend religion.

      I so much agree with you and her but we have to remember there are many, certainly not all, religious people who will insist that only they are right and only their beliefs are the right ones for all. So we have to tolerate even the intolerable. We have to allow those who will not allow others the same rights they are entitled to. And we have to know they have the First Amendment rights to be UN-American in their thinking and speaking. It is as they get violent when we should show our intolerance but just meet it with equal force or we become them.

    The Words “Separation Of Church And State” are clearly NOT in the Constitution but they also clearly should be added. Way to often religious organizations attempt to infuse their influence on law making through their positions. This very much would violate others “Freedom Of Religion” when there would be a particular church’s beliefs infused into law. Whose, among the so many different Christian denominations, let along the different religions, would be the influencing factors? Why are there so many different Christian denominations when many of them claim “if your Christian church believes differently from how we believe you are wrong”? Who would be right if all are wrong?

    I experienced over the years many very righteous Christians who told me I was going to hell because of my Jewish beliefs. I will never accept Jesus as anything beyond an ancient man, totally mortal, who taught Torah until he died. Period. If you believe I will go to hell for that then I feel so sorry for you.

    So whose religion should influence and dominate in a free country such as ours? Would you like to start another violent Revolutionary war if you could name one or a group that you think should? I strongly believe prayer should be brought back to public schools but those should be totally silent with no mention out loud of anything religious in particular. I want our government to be run morally, with a great “Golden Rule” influence in law making and enforcing but do not tread on me with you religion and I will respect your right to belief as you do. Otherwise you will have problems.

    I am as American as you are and I will stand for liberty and freedom as each of us sees it within the laws of the land. Freedom and liberty are neither if anyone imposes their beliefs on others.         samuri….You missed my points so I wont do the long rant thing again for you. I know many of your quotes because I am a student of American history but I think you go over board and misuse them. I also wont go into religion with you because, as a rabbi once told me, “it is wasting time and energy to do that with people who will not listen to you so how can there be rational discussion?”. Notice the rabbi and I did NOT say “agree” with me and that is because I do not need any to agree with me when engaging in academic discussion. I would just want to know more about their beliefs and views and share mine if they are interested. That is how we learn about each other and it has to be wanted by all in the “rational discussion” that is meant for only “academic” purposes.

        Oh well, I know that can not be accomplished with so many in religious discussions, I gave up really trying a long time ago, and in political ones as well. When people have only a “only my ways of believing are right so if yours differ, from mine, you have to be wrong” attitude there is no point to discussion because “rational” just cannot exist.

        OOPS, I long ranted again. I am sorry…..But the Rabbi was and still is right

    I am convinced Obama is this century’s Hitler. He is doing the same things Hitler did, only not in the same order. FEMA re-education camps instead of concentration camps, giving a speech at the base of the Berlin Victory Column where Hitler spoke, using Hitler’s gestures, and on down the line. Now Obama wants donations to him instead of wedding presents. In Hitler’s Germany the correct wedding present became a copy of Hitler’s book, Mein Kampf (My War). Obama is so greedy he wants money, not the written propagation of his sick New World Order plans fed to him by the banksters and spread by the bought and paid for Congress and presstitutes. The solution: as one anonymous Marine wrote on another website: “Ammunition makes such a lovely present.” Americans! Stand up and fight for your liberties. Down with the gospel of greed and Islam, both of which are Satanic. Somebody long ago said something like “the only thing needed for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing.” Time to take back our country–peaceably, if possible; if not, so much the worse for Obama and his sheeple. I predict that a month or so before November elections, Obama will do something so atrocious that civil disturbance will break out. He will bring in his NATO bullies and use the excuse of civil disturbance to suspend voting and make himself tyrant or dictator to save Americans from themselves. He already thinks he is God. Obama, “savior of the world” as his song goes. My God walked on water. Obama passes water. Amen.
