Nine States File Lawsuit To Support Arizona Immigration Law

July 20, 2010 by

Nine States File Lawsuit To Support Arizona Immigration LawSeveral major cities have voted to boycott Arizona to protest the state’s controversial new immigration law, which is scheduled to go into effect at the end of the month.

On Wednesday, however, Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox and eight other state AG’s filed a friend-of-the-court legal brief to support the statute and endorse Arizona’s right to secure its borders.

Attorneys general from Alabama, Florida, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas and Virginia all agreed to sign the brief, which was filed in the same U.S. District Court that will rule on the Obama administration’s federal lawsuit, USA Today reports.

"Arizona, Michigan and every other state have the authority to enforce immigration laws, and it is appalling to see President Obama use taxpayer dollars to stop a state’s efforts to protect its own borders," said Cox, a Republican who is currently running for governor in Michigan.

Earlier in the year, Cox and several other attorneys general came together to challenge the healthcare reform bill authored by President Obama and other prominent Democrats, according to the Associated Press.

Cox, whose parents immigrated from Europe, said that carrying identification is "part of daily modern life," noting that his mother kept her green card on her at all times.

You gotta see this video:Hidden cameras on the Arizona border, hundreds of illegal aliens crossing:

    • JeffH

Palin12, me thinks Arizona will win in court…

      • Al Sieber

        JeffH, we’re counting on winning.

        • Palin12

I think you will win too. How can Obummer and Co claim it’s a federal thing but look the other way at sanctuary cities?

        • Claire

Al Sieber–I hope all the states win. Wish Illinois would participate but everyone knows that will never happen.

          • http://naver samurai

            I wish Indiana would participate!

    • WarriorH

Boy oh boy, it’s a good thing terrorists only travel by plane.

    • 45caliber

Sad. I’ve seen the first tape too. It makes you wonder how people can look the other way.

      • JeffH

45, I think it speaks volumes about what our “protectors” really care about.

  • s c

This is a good start, but it will take many more states to put a dent in the concentrated infamy waged by traitors in Washington. In case anybody’s wondering about the ripple effects of having a prez who turns a blind eye to open borders, you might want to think about the downside of cities across America laying off police officers. Here’s yet another topic being ignored by media whores and the world-class, illuminated geniuses in the White House.
It is so very hard to tell the difference between criminals coming into America via Texas and Arizona and what passes for presidential leadership. Is there any difference at all?
Sleep well tonight, America. Herr Obummer “cares.”

    • eyeswideopen

S.C., are you trying to say that over 12 million illegals crossed the border in 18 months?? You are right however that a President closed his eyes to the problem for eight years….can you remember his name?? No, Reagan gave 3 million of them amensty, so he wasn’t the one, think, think real hard, and try to use some common sense. Try as you may, Obama, isn’t responsible for all of this country’s woe’s. In the last 30 years, the repubs have had the Presidency for 20 of those, so, the blind eye was obviously a republican one.

      • viktor leben

        eyeswideopen,

It doesn’t matter what happen in the past, we nned to act now and send the illegal immigrants back to wherever they came from. Just because the last few Presidents didn’t realize that we are being invaded doesn’t mean paralysis, but ACTION !

REMEMBER THE ALAMO ! STOP THE RECONQUISTA ! SEND THE INVADERS BACK !

That’s should do it … simple solutions ! It’s not even a complex problem. If you are being invaded — Push the invaders out…

        • William Barry

This is just my personal choice of words, but are you sure you would rather say the following?

REMEMBER THE ALAMO! STOP THE RECONQUISTADORS AND SEND ‘EM PACKING!

That’s “packing” as in “packing up to leave.”

          • honeybadger

            William Barry…
Everyone else got it, what did you miss?

      • Vippy

the past 40 years we can blame both parties for getting us where we are today. One only needs to look at the recent so called reform bills that do absolutely very little for the people but all for the corporations. Let us put blame where blame is due and vote strictly 3rd party. We need a new vision and new leadership. This looting of the USA has to stop. We can’t secure the borders, 1300 alone coming across per day in Arizona alone and we can’t make them legal every few years.

      • Craig

Reagan was lied to by the dems. The only reason he allowed the amnesty of those 3 millions criminals was because the dems said they would push for tighter border security and enforcement of immigration laws. Of course the dems backed down on their promise. Lying weasels dems are.

        • eyeswideopen

Craig, check your facts, Reagan authorized an additional 800 border guards and the repubs didn’t fund the money for them for 8 years…Repub corporations want illegals here, it makes their bottom line shine.

          • mountain_man

So, why would the dems act like repub’s?
As you say, the bottom line?
The Party on the left, is now the party of the right.
            They’re both the same.
Stop fighting, start doing what common sense tells ya.

          • JC

Who cares what Reagan did or what Calvin Coolidge did for that matter.
The problem is now, the Kenyan is now. Americans need to take back their country NOW.
            Your taking up space, eyes.

          • http://naver samurai

Oh God! You’re back! Well, let’s get ready to rumble!

          • honeybadger

            eyeswideopen
democrats want them here as democrats. Their votes CAN BE HAD with taxayer monies.

      • Ellen

eyeswideopen says: Open your eyes. The illegals are flooding the border at an appalling rate every day and have done so for years. Attention is being focused NOW because Arizona, like most of the US is BANKRUPT. A lot of that is due to the massive services these people are stealing while our own people are left in the cold.

The border situation has been neglected because in the past we could afford, to some degree, to pay out taxpayer’s hard-earned money to these parasites. A few months ago, Jan Brewer had an “audience” with his highness, Barry Soetoro, because the situation is desperate. He has ignored the invasion of OUR COUNTRY. He is a soulless creature pretending to have the authority to occupy that position. He is not and has not done his job at all.

I would defend NONE of the past presidents because NONE of them have secured our borders. You mention Reagan; he certainly did give them amnesty. However, I understood that action to have been done as part of an agreement to SECURE THE DAMNED BORDER. THAT was not done; it was all lies.

Barry Soetoro has done nothing for this country except foment division where there was none. Everything he has done has been illegal and unconstitutional…….of course, that isn’t much different from King George who preceded him. Barry has just done much more of it and at a breathtaking rate.

They are all puppets, however evil, of their masters, the Rothschilds and the rest of the global elite who think that they own us and are therefore entitled to own us and everything we produce.

        Open your eyes.

        • eyeswideopen

Ellen, so in the past 30 years, 20 years of repub presidents, who exactly in the repub party addressed the problem?? Try as you may, you can’t change history, and history shows that the repubs want illegals here…or they would have done something before now…

          • LiveFreeOrDie

Seriously, open your eyes. Why are you still saying Republicans this and Democrats that. They BOTH have their own agendas and special interests they serve and believe me, it is not us. Blaming a Republican President is only seeing half of the picture. Open your other eye and blame the Democratic leaders as well. Both Dems and Repubs have their eye on spending money they don’t have. They both want the illegals here, as payback to the billion dollar corporations and special interest groups that got them elected in the first place. It just does not matter who was in office for the last 30 years as NONE of them have been acting in Americas best interest. Vote for Tea Party Candidates come election time. Get rid of the trash that has infested our government for so long.

            Clint Eastwood for President!

          • Jeep

Forget it LiveFree…some people do not care if it gets fixed, only who gets blamed. Libs do not care about illegals or the problems they bring. However, it is a great opportunity to blame someone, sow confusion and to cloud the issue with inuendo. It is not worth the effort to argue with eyes and its ilk. If you understand nothing else, Libs do not see illegal immigration as a problem, they only see it as a “crisis” to be exploited.

          • mountain_man

All appropriations (that means spending) and all laws are drawn up in the Legislature (specifically, the House of Representatives).
Except for the 6 years of Republican rule, (’93 to 2001), the Dems ruled the Legislative roost.
“eyeswideopen”, hate to tell ya, they ain’t :)

          • JC

How many of those 20 years of Republican presidents had a Democratic Congress?

          • Claire

Personally I don’t think we can put the blame solely on one party. Especially since BOTH parties are responsible concerning the “do nothing” attitude they have demonstrated in the past and currently. The past administrations did nothing about the illegals, and now it has become a nightmare. All administrations kept the borders wide open all around the US allowing any illegal to enter. We did not have security to check these people (other nationalities) that came in, and now America is full of them, not to mention the home-grown terrorists. Both parties have had a hand in the downfall of the economy, keeping America in another never-ending war, plus they both contributed to the factor of joblessness with their political games. I will not promote either party. One is just as worthless as the other.

          • Claire

Hey!! I would vote for Clint Eastwood!

          • eyeswideopen

JC, 11 of those twenty were controlled by the Repubs, who had both the house and senate at the same time from 1996 to 2007. Own it!!

          • JC

Eyes…I don’t have to “own it”, I’m a Libertarian and a Constitutionalist…which puts me way up the evolutionary ladder from where you stand. How’s the view from there anyway? ;)

        • Claire

I believe this is a free country and we are all entitled to free speech. We have the right to express our opinions, some right, some left. We choose which path we want to travel, and politics is part of the scenario. We can disagree or agree with each other. This is the nature of things. As far as the political parties go, they both have their shortcomings. My estimation is that these parties, in many ways, may be more alike than we think. The illegals—neither party has taken care of this issue. They didn’t want to.

      • Michael J.

        Hello EWO,
I just heard that the 2012 Republican National Convention will be held in Tampa, Florida. Your heart must be swelling with pride knowing that you will be so close to the effort that will unseat the Bamster.
        With love always, Michael J.

        • eyeswideopen

Michael, we have so many strip joints here in Tampa, that I know the repubs will have a blast. We are taking bets on how many are arrested. Hopefully Vitter will show up and really pump up our economy!!!lol

          • JC

Which one do you work in? Maybe we’ll come for a visit? ;)

          • Claire

I am no liberal but I have to add–maybe Michael Steele and his buddies will be there. Remember their little night club fiasco?

          • http://naver samurai

I can probably just see Clinton standing in line to go in. Except this time Monica won’t be there.

          • JC

samurai, what ever happened to Monica? Seems like only yesterday she was crawling around the White House on her hands and knees…

      • Jon

Yes, leave those Godless Democrats be, there just trying to follow Carl Marks and his manifesto……gosh darn it there do-in the best they can.

        • mountain_man

The political atheists here (like myself) prefer following Groucho Marx. :-D Those libs just have no sense of humor…

      • 45caliber

No, Oblama isn’t responsible for ALL the country’s woes – but since he ISN’T doing anything to correct them, he IS responsible for the ones he ignores. And this is one of them. So is the Gulf Oil Spill. So is his screwed up health care program. So is the economy when all he wants to do is pay off more of his supporters while ignoring those chances to put people back to work in anything except more government positions.

        • http://?? Joe H.

          45caliber,
what did I tell you??? When all those others were saying that maybe eyes saw the light and changed, I said there couldn’t be a light that BRIGHT!!! A leopard would have to be a true wizard to change his spots THAT much!!! That is the eyes I know and recognize!!!

          • Claire

JoeH–A good description of politicians–they all change their spots once they are in office.

          • eyeswideopen

JoeH, I see things haven’t changed, you all continue to blame all the problems on Obama, who only took office 18 months ago. Why can’t a conservative/repub admit that they screwed up and made many mistakes which need to be solved by this new administration?? Why is that so hard for you? The crime is not making a mistake, it is not admitting and then fixing it. You guys rant and rave about FDR and all the bad things he did. Why didn’t any republican who came after him, fix it?? You do know that we had repubs in office after FDR don’t you? About busted a gut, watching, Sessions and his buddy on Meet the Press, Sunday, when they were asked what policies the repubs had to fix the mess we are in. They couldn’t come up with any….but their talking points remained same, cut taxes, cut spending. Didn’t give any answers as to how they would generate revenue to offset deficit. Didn’t really know that the Bush tax cuts will cost this country 2.63 Billion in lost revenue, which could go towards deficit. Same old, no plans, no ideas, obstructionist GOP.

          • coal miner

            Eyes,

            I got a idea,cut JoeH’s veteran’s pay for starters.

        • honeybadger

          Go 45caliber…..GO!

      • http://GOGGLE vaksal

To:eyeswideopen, fact all the presidents in the last 24yrs have been asleep at the helm, and look at it now,the good ship lolipop is sinking(U.S.S.LIBERTY)and we place blame on only a few,we have to get real and start enforceing the laws of this nation quick,or we will become the (U.S.S.HASBEEN),so think about it,all these morons that had more important things to do in government, dropped the ball long ago,and its up to all of us to vote the bad ones out period and its time for these elected public servants to start caring more about this nation and its citizens, then placing us in the end of the line, while they take care of the whole darn world, example (NAFTA) the worlds biggest yard sale in the history of the world=millions of american jobs and industry, and now this blind as a bat outlook on the immigration invasion that will finish this nation off, then welcome to the jungle.and then good bye america land of the free.because we dont have the resouces to care for these folks (ILEAGALS)lawbreakers! and its not about racism, its about living by the laws on immigration.

      • honeybadger

Obviously you are of the democratic persuasion therefore I realize it is MOST difficult for you to absorb ANYTHING rational, however I am willing to attempt to help you become enlightened. IF you have what it takes to absorb information I can only assume you have knowledge of the definition of ‘lame duck’ elected official/s. Normally this is when an elected official/s is nearing the end of their tenure and just prior to being replaced by their successor. Are you still with me? When you have the situation the American people AND the recent administration had to deal with during it’s entire time in office, does this not meet the definition of a ‘lame duck’ eight years and PRIMARILY, not absolutely but PRIMARILY, due to almost ABSOLUTE control by you know who? I believe so. There is ABSOLUTELY no point in attempting to explain the current situation to you, unnecessary attempts are falling on closed minds with deaf ears and outstretched hands.

      • honeybadger

A ‘lame duck’ President for eight years due to vote buying democrats in power throughout the Congress and the Senate. Then we had a totally democrat government. It did NOT take long for intelligent people to realize how they had been misled (lied to). Last November the smart ones showed what they thought wnen they voted, the ‘others’ continue to ‘hope’ and hold their hands out, November of ’12 the cycle WILL complete itself UNLESS old ‘hopey changey’ can bend or break som laws and naturalize some additional democrats.

  • http://?? Joe H.

Why, oh why can’t Ohio be one of the states supporting Arizona??? At least then I would have something to be proud of!!! They can’t win a professional sports championship, they can’t keep the players interested in staying, and now they can’t even support a winning side!!!

    • wasadoc

Well, Joe, if it makes you feel better, the very same can be said for the state of Arkansas. I have cussed and discussed with the state government, all to no avail.

      • 45caliber

And you won’t get anywhere there as long as Tyson’s continues to want illegals working for them so they won’t have to pay things like Workman’s Comp on them and can allow the INS to pay for all injuries to illegals when they get hurt on the job.

    • Palin12

      Joe H.,
I have read that Lebron James will save $1.9 million in state income taxes by moving from Ohio to Florida.

      • http://?? Joe H.

Palin12, Then he should have come right out and said that instead of stringing the fans that supported him along!!!

        • Claire

JoeH–I agree with you. Talk about a ploy. It certainly did not impress me.

        • Palin12

Joe, on the other hand, I would very much like to visit the Rock Hall of Fame. I’m sure its awesome! I did visit the Football Hall of Fame in Canton several years ago. I planned to stay an hour, but ended up about 4!

  • viktor leben

What’s going to happen if the Federal government wins the case ? Arizona will probably win, but what if they don’t ?

WILL the Federal government shut off the water supply from the Colorado river ? If that’s possible ….

If Obama/Holder win how will they enforce the courts decision ? Will they send troops into Arizona to stop Arizona from arresting illegal immigrants ?

It sounds like Obama/Holder are just wasting money on legal fees….

    • Bruce

Viktor, This is nothing but a political power play by Barry Soetoro and his henchmen such as Eric the nazi Holder of Barry’s Mr. Winkie.
Everything that Barry Soetoro does is one more chip out of the United States Constitution and Bill of Rights. People he is a Marxist can it be any more clear.

Anyone know about Barry Soetoro sending about 30 Million of US Tax payers money to Kenya, note his fathers birth place, for their Political Power plays? People the deeper you look into this guy the more you should be waking up.

How about his new great ideas of being able to just Shoot YOU or anyone he deems a threat; for no reason other than you’re on his hit list? Thats was on MSNBC, CNN and MSN and NBC just last week and it was being talked about like it was normal behavior, People WAKE UP.

He is working very hard daily to start a Civil War between the race’s here in the US. Don’t fall prey to this. Lets take him and his gang of Thiefs and henchmen out with a PEACEFUL method. Don’t let them provoke you to act with any form of violence. Know what he is up to and lets use these events to take him down and remove everthing he has started. As well remove all Progressive Marxist from our land once and for all.

    • wasadoc

As they are on many other things, and where does that money come from ? Why out of our pockets.

      • Michael J.

        wasadoc,

Don’t forget to pay your taxes.

20 MILLION ILLEGAL ALIENS ARE DEPENDING ON YOU!

    • Craig

If they send troops to AZ, I will move there and stand toe to toe with Arizonians to fight. Time to take a stand against this crap. The feds are not doing their job. They have no right telling the states that they cannot protect themselves.

    • Ellen

viktor leben: If the feds win the case, I would think that Governor still has the Tenth Amendment, state sovereignty, and secession. Frankly, I’d like to see each state secede, turning their collective backs on our out-of-control dictatorship. No more taxes sent whatsoever. Our states would have more than enough to sustain themselves, even with unemployment numbers as high as they are. The number of government parasites is simply staggering and THAT’s where all the tax money goes. The state and local governments have to get real and get lean and mean like the rest of those who SUPPORT their lying, treasonous asses. How can the feds fight 50 states? It was said that we must all hang together or we will hang separately. That has never lost its veracity and is especially true in these times.

I don’t see how the feds can shut off a water supply……they don’t own anything……THE PEOPLE DO and we have forgotten the power that we really do have. WE created these lying slime, gave them power and all they do is pi** and sh** all over us daily. They have robbed us blind and gave illegal power to the federal reserve to bankrupt us all.

It may get ugly but the time to take a firm stand is NOW. We cannot back down and roll over. Otherwise, the jackboot will swiftly be upon our necks and it will be all over.

It sounds like Obama/Holder are just wasting money on legal fees….THOSE LEGAL FEES ARE OUR HARD-EARNED WAGES STOLEN FROM US BY THE ILLEGAL IRS and it’s all part of the process of getting everyone dependent on the government; when that happens and we have nothing left, the global elite will simply take over and we will have lost our freedom that our ancestors fought so hard for and gave their lives for.

Find the “Obama Deception” on the web and watch it while you still can. Also, watch “Fall of the Republic”, and “Endgame”. Learn what is REALLY going on and who is behind it. Knowledge is power; fear (that they continually incite in the sheep) is control of YOU.

      • Texas Southern Belle

I have very much enjoyed reading your thoughts here Ellen and many others. I am glad to see & hear others that are so informed about the Government. You have made such great points!! One thing I want to reinterate to the folks reading these are YES, people EDUCATE YOURSELVES!!!!! We have a copy of the “Fall of The Republic” it is some VERY scary stuff, but don’t just stop there, arm your self with KNOWLEDGE!!!! Don’t just listen to what your being “TOLD”!!!!

      • Viktor Leben

I’ll download those videos, I use firefox’s “download helper” add in. Thanks Ellen !

    • 45caliber

This is a stall tactic to try to get Congress to agree to his “Cap and trade” (tax and spend) bill in exchange for actions to at least slow down the immigration. Oblama even said so to Senator Kyl.

  • JC

“Nine States File Lawsuit To Support Arizona Immigration Law”

Considering that the law is supportive of American values and in line with the Constitution…it’s the only moral thing to do.
All 50 states should be doing the same thing.

    • 45caliber

      Agreed.

    • Smilee

      JC

What part of the Constitution is it not in line with????????? Do you even know???????

Oh! the nine states filed a brief not a lawsuit but you probably do not know the difference beteeen the two either!!

      • JC

We can always count on smilee for a comnpletely assinine, twisted response. The headline at the top of this article is:

Nine States File Lawsuit To Support Arizona Immigration Law

And I said that the law Arizona has framed is “completely in line with the Constitution” and it is. Which renders the Kenyan’s agenda
to that of petty tyrant having a tantrum.

  • bobinpa.

Eyeswideopen- No, the incompetent, unqualified, Empty-Suit, Lying, Loser from Kenya is not reponsible for all the country’s woes as you say. But the Lying, Marxist, Communist, Muslim, weasel, is RESPONSIBLE for an awful lot of our WOES especially taking into consideration the short timethe Lying Puke has been in Office. By the way, “Did he SHOW the “Birth Certificate ” yet??

    • Smilee

      bobinpa

Boy thats a lot of adjectives and all wrong and distort reality, Obama never lived in Kenya and yes he has shown his birth certificate before he became president, bur we know you are incapable of recognizing the truth as the truth does not appear to be to important to you!!!

      • Palin12

        Smilee
I myself was born in Hawaii, in fact at the same hospital Obummer claims to have been born in. In Hawaii, there is a difference between a Birth Certificate and a “Certification of Live Birth”. The document that Obummer has shown is one of these Certifications of Live Birth, which even someone not born in Hawaii may obtain. My birth certificate lists both of my parent’s names AND occupations, the attending physician’s signature, the name of the hospital, and other information not present on Odumbo’s certificate. More importantly, Obummer lived and attended school in Indonesia from age 6-10 and his school admission document lists his nationality as Indonesian and his religion as Islam. Indonesia does not allow dual citizenships, so he did in fact relinquish his American citizenship if he had one to begin with. Of course, I understand that it does not matter to you One World Order people whether he is an American or not. Even if it was proven to you that he is not American, you’d defend him in order to further your agenda. You’d even like it if Calderon was our president.

        • honeybadger

Way to go Palin 12! I just LOVE evidence and especially when it scores a DIRECT hit!

      • http://eachstateretaliate.blogspot.com/ Tea Party Tim

Wow! Facts are facts. Obama did live in Kenya, even Obama does not dispute that.

Are we hearing from yet another ‘hope and change advocate’? Have YOU seen his birth certificate? No! Neither has anyone else. Can you even IMAGINE, with your LIMITED imaginer, what ALL the ‘fuss’ before the United States Supreme Court pertaining to this very issue is all about, I didn’t think so!

  • Al Sieber

Re the past 40 years we can blame both parties… The following memo covers “who to blame”. Who to blame covers millions of Americans from all walks of life; In particular, the ones mentioned in the memo.

Note the prophetic date of this memo.
    ***********

    To: The American Taxpayer 03/12/09
    From: Joe
    Re: The Heartless

Again the Conspirators have proven that they are heartless. The “Heartless Conspirators” have thrust the kid, Barack Hussein Mohamed Obama, whose only talent is to rap using reasonably good English, into the position of “Leader of the Free World”.

The “Barack Kid” eloquently pontificates using reasonably good English and is oblivious to what is causing his pain while the Russian Bear bites him in the ass and the China Tiger claws him down the back side while the little puppies (like North Korea, Iran, France, etc…) nip at his heels.

Who are these “Heartless Conspirators”? To name a few, they are the left wing liberal politicians, the US socialists and communists, the radical environmentalist, the left wing liberal socialist/communist media. These cretins have conspired to create crisis after crisis for uncountable years with the objective of changing the US to an environment suitable for the many little “Kings and Queens” who have wiggled themselves into politics and bureaucracies.

There is an old Chinese proverb that states:

    Crisis + Chaos = Opportunity

The preverbal straw that broke the camel’s back was the fuel crisis, caused by “Heartless Conspirators”. This caused the American Taxpayer to have to pay up to $5 per gallon for fuel. At this point, the American Taxpayer rebelled. We quit buying fuel. We quit traveling. We quit spending money. Now we have chaos. The equation is complete. There is now Crisis + Chaos which creates Opportunity.

There is now Opportunity for the “Heartless Conspirators” to change the US to an environment suitable for the many little “Kings and Queens” who have wiggled themselves into politics and bureaucracies. The “Heartless Conspirators” are guided only by the approach whereby the end justifies the means.

There are some who think that we are past the point of no return.

    Sincerely, Joe

    PS:
    SOCIALISM AND LIBERALISM
Norman Mattoon Thomas (November 20, 1884 – December 19, 1968 ( some of us are old enough to remember him running for President). He was a leading American socialist, pacifist, and six-time presidential candidate for the Socialist Party of America. Norman Thomas said this in a 1944 speech:
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of “liberalism,” they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” He went on to say: “I no longer need to run as a Presidential Candidate for the Socialist Party. The Democratic Party has adopted our platform.”

      Joe,
I agree with your post. For a feeling of deja vu check out this video of Yuri Bezmenov, Russian KGB defector who explains the tactics of communist subversion at great length. This stuff makes Saul Alinsky look like a boy scout.

It’s interesting to see a finger of blame pointed at Reagan. He assumed leadership of a country whos’ economy was, in some ways worse, than todays. One of the primary differences was that the Carter CRA was too recent to have a major effect, today it is one of the major causes of our problems! I don’t recall him constantly casting blame on Carter, he simply went to work to right the problems.
He, as Obama or anyone in a similar situation would, made many hard choices, rather faster than is comfortable. As pointed out he made some mistakes. One of these mistakes was to grant the amnesty! We might remember that it was his part of an agreed Quid-pro-Quo with the progressives. His part was to grant amnesty to 1.5 illegals, that turned out to be 3 million. Their part was to secure the border. He did his part they, clearly, did not. Today they come back to the table saying much the same thing!
It is my belief that untill they honor their part of their agreement with us, through Reagan, no immigration reform should even be discussed!

    • Raggs

      Very good point Ted….

    • eyeswideopen

Ted, go look at this link. Please keep in mind that 86 Reagan was President. 94 thru 2000 the repubs had control of both the Senate and the House, so they are responsible for these amnesty bills. Kinda hard to blame the dems when the repubs had control and passed this kind of crap isn’t it?? http://www.amnestybill.com/1994.html

      • JC

So have you figured it out yet? It doesn’t matter which party we elect, they’re both busy destroying and subverting America.
So ranting on about the red team and the blue team is something you’ve been very well programmed to do isn’t it?
Wake up. It’s time to clean house and get back to the Constitution.

        • eyeswideopen

JC, I am only responding to those who are illogically blaming Obama, for every problem that we have. When I do, then someone always says, don’t look back, or it doesn’t matter, but it does matter. Hanging problems that have been around for 30 years on this President is not logical, fair or true.

          • Viktor Leben

            Eyeswideopen,

How about the problem right now with Arizona’s border ? It’s 2010, why hasn’t the President secured our border ?

Let’s get serious, the INVASION that is happening NOW is the PROBLEM ….. As Commander in Chief Obama is required to defend the USA …..

            Impeachment time ?

          • Viktor Leben

            Eyeswideopen,

Should the Democrats close the border now ? They are the ones in power. It seems the states with Republican governors get shafted. Look at what happen in California. The Federal government shut the water off …

          • JC

There’s nothing illogical about attacking the Kenyan and his money printing machine, or his “czarist” cabinet. The same problems have existed for a long time but Americans are merely waking up “because ” of the Kenyan.

I can thank His Hopiness for waking folks up and getting them good and mad, but that’s about it.
He’s the right target for anger for today.

          • Claire

What honks me off is that past administrations didn’t do anything either. Now we have twice as many illegals in the US. They are going to have to close the borders and I mean literally. No more fooling around. Bring our troops home and put them on the borders. If we sent the illegals home, then maybe the job situation would be better. Everything would be better!! Maybe insurance and hospital costs would go down?? Hey, I’m hoping!

    • Smilee

      TED

I sure do remember Reagan blaming Carter as did must republicaans back then and many are still blaming him and that was thirty years ago not 18 months ago, weather you want to admit it or not we are still cleaning up GW Bush’s mess and it will be some time before that is complete as the mess is so large, yes it is not past but still with us as is some of the mess from Katrina and thats over five years ago. The expectations conservtives have placed on Obaama is higher than anyone could humanly accomplish, be thankful Bush could not get a third term or things would be even worse.

      • http://eachstateretaliate.blogspot.com/ Tea Party Tim

And there certainly was a lot to blame Carter for. The fact is that we are still cleaning up Carter’s mess. Unfortunately, there was quite a bit of back stepping during the Clinton, then Bush administration and now we are heading over the cliffs with Obama.

      • honeybadger

        smilee
In the first place you have no one to thank for Bush not ‘getting a third term’, did you go to skule? Look around at ‘the educated ones’, the historians, the people who live to study this country’s history. From what I have read they ALL agree, Carter was the ‘worst’ in this country’s history, before ‘hopey changey’. You are OBVIOUSLY out of touch with reality, you either have a bad memory or were NOT listening when the ‘ONE’ was preaching his promise of ‘salvation’ for America through him, he had TOTAL CONTROL, until last Nov. 2nd., just what did he accomplish with TOTAL control? You need to either wake up or doze off again, however either way you WILL continue to receive your checks so long a SOME of us can continue to provide tax money.

obama signed an order to kill americans overseas if they are suspected of being involved with a terrorist organization.
The key word here is “suspected”… no proof needed, no trial, no jail nothing…

I wonder if this is how Arizona will be handled?

    • Michael J.

      Raggs,
The key word here is “overseas”. This entire ploy may just be a smokescreen. The ground work has already been laid to consider Tea Party Members and likewise conservative patriots as radicals and suspected domestic terrorist.

      • Ellen

The MIAC report already says that veterans, gun owners, patriots, Ron Paul supporters, home schoolers, Tea Party members and any other people who HAVE THE RIGHT TO DISSENT AND SPEAK OUT AGAINST OUR TYRANNICAL GOVERNMENT. The MIAC report is what our law enforcement thugs use as their criteria AGAINST American citizens.

      • JC

And I hope these commies are freaking terrified.

    • s c

Is this yet one more in an unending series of topics overlooked by the ‘worthy’ lamestream media? If it’s true that America’s Anointed One signed such an ‘order,’ then it should be obvious to ALL Americans that the Titan of Transparency, the Prince of Hope and Change, the Baron of BS, the Dictator of Equality through PC, Herr Obummer, was never presidential material.
He missed the boat, Raggs, He could been a door-greeter at Wal Mart. He could have worked at McDonald’s, or he might have worked his way up to the White House – and served people like Bubba Clinton, Clinton’s ‘better half,’ Motormouth Biden, Scary Reid or Queen Nancy their morning coffee.

  • Michael J.

I am very proud too see that nine states are supporting the new Arizona law. What we need now is for the same group to support a demand for legitimate documents proving Obama’s eligibility to be president.
I mean think about it, which is easier and less expensive? Forking out and estimated one million dollars in legal fees to bury the issue, search through 50 years worth of microfilmed newspaper archives, silence the Supreme Court by as yet unknown means, place a unwritten gag order on all media with threats of retaliation, or merely produce the legitimate document that would put the matter to rest.

    • 45caliber

What I HOPE to see is a number of states like Texas requiring all documentation proving citizenship prior to someone being placed on the ballot here.

That would mean in 2012 that Oblama either MUST produce evidence or he will lose the state vote because he isn’t on the ballot – which would likely mean he would lose the election if he tried to run again.

      • Palin12

45, they are going to do just as you wish in Arizona in 2012. No birth certificate, no Odumbo on the ballot.

  • Robert

It’s an American tragedy that this White House has declared war on one of our great states. My view is this: Arizona has done everything legal and constitutional in their efforts to protect their citizens. If this White House refuses to protect our fellow Americans from the ruthless savagery of these Mexican criminals then Arizona has an obligation to do that job. All Arizonians should demand that their employers stop withholding all Federal Income Taxes and instead turn those funds over to the State so they can protect and serve their citizens. Some time ago there was an infamous battle cry “Remember the Alamo”, now there is a new battle cry “Protect Arizona at all costs”. Every true American should be outraged at what this Government is doing to Arizon. My suggestion is that any American who is willing to sacrifice their life for the freedom and security of the United States should arm themselves and go to Arizona to protect their citizens. If an illegal alien(s) attempts to cross the Arizona boarder-Shoot to kill. It’s no different as to what we would have done during WWII if the enemy had tried to enter our country. God Bless America and the great state of Arizona.

    • Smilee

      Robert

If you understood your Constituion you would know only Congress can declare war!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who said anything about war, except you.

      • http://eachstateretaliate.blogspot.com/ Tea Party Tim

And so you now readily admit that the Iraq and Afganistan wars were not the result of the Bush administration, but rather the democrat controlled Congress. How interesting? I am glad that you now have your eyes wide open.

  • FreedomFighter

To fight peacefully and defeat, the attempt by Marxist/Socialist/Progressive liberals to take control of America, one must take back control of the govermental system.

Start with state and local goverments and pass legislation that supports American ideal and values. Block the Marxist’s agenda. The ACLU and other hit-squads of the left will be overwhelmed and bankrupted trying to fight the flood. Work with local law inforcement and make sure Marxists stay out of local officers ranks, then work on the state inforcement agencies the same way. WTF do you want somebody whom wants to overthrow the goverment of the USA in law inforcement anyways?

Review your school boards, remove the commies, Marxist, socialist, and Progressive libersls. Review what your children are reading in school.

Vote the Marxist out of Federal service.

Show up and protest Left wing organizations when they display hate, victimize the innocent or try to grab power. Organize, and they will lose.

    FF

    • Ellen

FreedomFighter: absolutely. Local is the best place to begin. However, one of the things tearing us apart at the local level, by design, is the presence of an entity called ICLEI. They are connected to that foreign entity, the UN, and they very quietly and secretively implement the global agenda and Agenda 21 under the pretense of environmentalism. Check your local government’s web pages. Evidence will be that you see: sustainability, green, emphasis on bicycles, climate change/global warming, Climate Wise program…..they’re very anti-business. They’ve been in Fort Collins, Colorado for the past 17 years and have done much damage although most of the locals still think this is such a great place to live. If you or anyone is interested, go to w w w. s t o p. i c l e i. c o m (remove the spaces) for a very good treatment of what this treasonous group does.

    • 45caliber

Thanks the government “donations” to “charities” you will not bankrupt groups like ACLU unless the government declares bankruptcy. But it would be nice if we could.

  • mary

I am all for Arizona having an immigration law and I hope they can stop some of the illegals from crossing their border. I definitely support them.

  • http://www.archivale.com/weblog/ Marc de Piolenc

“Cox, whose parents immigrated from Europe, said that carrying identification is “part of daily modern life,” noting that his mother kept her green card on her at all times.”

THERE’s the kicker, and the reason I don’t support Arizona’s statute, or any other that requires freeborn Americans to carry ID. Theoretically, only immigrants are required to carry ID, but the effect of this and similar laws is to require Americans to carry “papers” to prove that they are NOT immigrants. That’s why I call this a socialist measure masquerading as a conservative one. If it succeeds, freedom will retreat instead of advancing.

    • 45caliber

You already carry a document that proves you are American – if the feds would stay out of it. It is called a “driver’s license”.

When I got my license the first time, I had to provide a birth certificate. So did my kids. Now the feds insist that you shouldn’t have to provide one because too many illegals couldn’t get a drivers’ license if they did. (To tell the truth, I can’t figure out how they can pass the driver’s test anyway.)

      • Smilee

        Sorry

Lots of illegal immegrants have Drivers Licenses so that is no help!!

        • http://eachstateretaliate.blogspot.com/ Tea Party Tim

It is so kind of you to actually support the position of the conservatives on this one. You are exactly right. They do have drivers licenses that if the laws had remained in effect and enforced they would not have.

  • M.L.

DO REMEMBER PEOPLE IT WAS PRES. CARTER THAT STARTED THE WHOLE THING ALLOWING THE MEXICANS TO CROSS THE BORDER. HOWEVER EVEN HE HAD TO ADMIT IN A VERY SHORT PERIOD OF TIME THAT AS HE PUT IT. (WE HAVE ENTIRELY TO MANY MEXICANS HERE) HIS WORDS. THAT CULMINATED INTO A MASS DEPORTATION DURING THE SEVENTIES OF TEN MILLION MEXICANS. THOUGH NOT BY HIM. BUT SINCE THEY JUST KEPTG COMING AS THEY WERE OFFERED MORE AND MORE INCENTIVES, AND SO BOTH GOVERMENT PARTIES FAILED US. THE LATEST INCENTIVE IS THEY ARE GOING TO BE ABLE TO HAVE MEDICARE AND MEDICADE AS A HEADSTART WHEN HE LEGALIZES THEM. HE ALSO USING OUR MONEY FOR ABORTIONS IN KENYA AND FOR KENYON ELECTIONS. WHAT DOES THAT TELL YOU?

    • 45caliber

He is “redistributing wealth” from us throughout as much of the world as he can – the perfect One World Government politician.

  • http://eachstateretaliate.blogspot.com/ Tea Party Tim

There is an old saying, “Good fences make good neighbors”.

Well as old sayings go that would be ok. However, the fact of the matter is that good neighbors make good neighbors and good fences make bad neighbors better. Mexico is not a good neighbor and we need some good fences.

Quite honestly, we should be spending some of the $787B in stimulous money ($300+B that has not yet been spent) building a wall. At $72/foot it would cost just over $1B to build two 12 foot tall walls sepearted about 20 feet apart. It would cost about $2B/year to man the wall with guards posted every 1,400 feet and there are extensive savings that could be made in personal cost by adding electronic monitoring that actually works.

For all the talk of how America is headed toward the European model, it seems that we might be headed more toward the Mexican model. We have allowed our government to become so corrupt that soon the country will be completely run by criminals and it is already primarily run by criminals.

    • 45caliber

I would LOVE to see such a wall built. But I’d also like to see unmanned automatic weapons that can detect anything going over the wall and will respond by themselves.

Then we could use the men to patrol for tunnels. And they should have equipment that can bore a hole into a tunnel and then insert enough explosives to collapse it.

      • Viktor Leben

        45caliber

Sounds like a good idea. Considering the lack of troops and border patrols – this can be done by a civilian vigilante group …. Kind of like a “Hogan’s Heroes” type operation…

first of all im a black men good citizen american people this arizonal laws it will potencial damages republican party and it will actually created racism all over the united state becaus this laws has a nagativity leg against hispanic people this my points we really needs to sicure our borgerd and we must going after drug dealers and kidnapping we must seperate the criminals frome legitiment people all imingrant are not a terrorists even illegail imingrants stop racism in american imingrants was actually buld this land okay before we even borns in to this world have you remenber that no i guess we all needs to go back to school and go learn the history of real american

    • 45caliber

It may cause racism but I doubt it. In any case, our land was indeed built by immigrants. The major trouble now is – WE NO LONGER HAVE A PLACE TO PUT THEM. Further, they are willing to work at below minimum wages if they are paid in cash so they won’t have to pay taxes on it.

It isn’t racism to target some group because of what that particular group does. For instance, 99.99% of all terrorist acts are performed by Muslim fundamentalists. So why do we search old women and babies in air ports who aren’t Muslim? It isn’t racism to target the people who are causing the problem.

It’s like being paranoid. You aren’t paranoid if someone really IS out to get you.

      • GlfCstTxn

A friend of mine had a good idea…let the illegals in that are here to work, but for every one that comes across, Mexico must take one of our welfare recipients. That way we would get rid of the free-loaders and have people willing to work.

  • T. Rainey

One of the best ideas I’ve heard is that if they really want to become legal citizens then they should serve at least 4 years in our armed forces after which we will grant them, their wives and their children full citzenship. If they should be killed during their tour then their families are granted full citizenship if that is what they still want. This will weed out all those who are not here to become citizens or who do not care about becoming a part of our country. Everyone who does not agree to this gets shipped back over the border.

For anyone who would accuse me of being a racist – I am a 3rd generation decendent of a Mexican immigrant. I do not hate these people; many simply want a better life. But I do not support blanket amnesty for everyone – that’s foolishness.

    • NoAmnestyEnglishONLY

Enough of the blame game and dems/repubs bs – it is distracting from the issue – we need to send them back, stop the benefits, stop subsidized education, make employers e-verify,put restrictions on $ that can be sent back to Mexico, stop printing everything in Spanish as it does nothing to encourage them to learn the language and make English the official language of the USA (it will save a ton of $$) and make the penalty for getting caught with forged or fake identification a minimum of 5 years in prison – make our enforcement as tough as Mexico’s! WE ALSO NEED TO STOP THE AUTOMATIC CITIZENSHIP OF ANCHOR BABIES! They breed like rabbits because it costs them nothing! Enough (ask any hospital billing department! and pretty soon they will outnumber us!) I will make one exception that was stated by someone above that if they agree to serve 4 years in the Military and are honorably discharged, they can become automatic citizens -

      • 45caliber

        I agree completely.

  • ONTIME

Barry Sotero, the UN-Credentialed and devious Eric Holder are akin to two juvenile delinquent arsonist, one carries the gas can and the other the matches for lighting fires.

There is a definate attempt to undercut, not enforce, circumvent and corrupt the Constitutional Law of this country by these two people and it is being supported by a congress full of Deemers and Rino’s whose entire careers are one big question mark. The attempts being made to put Elena Kagan on the SCOTUS is just another way to finnish the job of corruption of the courts and delivering unto the marxist regime total control of all fiscal and economic operations in these United States.

The idea and tactics of lighting distracting fires, muddying the waters and smearing the opposition is being executed at a rapid rate, so far the attempts to put a halt to this action is slow and weak, even though the evidence is blatant and in your face. I have no doubt this illegitmate regime will declare a national emergency and martial law in order to stop the vote in November and they will stoop to any level to achieve that goal also.

    Great! Texas is one!

So states do not have the right to seal their borders? I don’t know about now, but I remember going into California a few years ago. EVERY car had to stop at the border and get searched for anything California didn’t want there. And if you didn’t give it up, you couldn’t go in.

I don’t see any difference between that and AZ doing the same on the Mexican side of their state.

I guess the only real question with this issue, is where are the 40 other states, they should be on this like white on rice.
I know CalieforniA as well the other states of Fruits & Nuts like MassAchewsits and New York, and special ConnetUcut will never get in on this as they use the SLAVE LABOR of these Illegals to do their house work etc..
So that still leaves, 35 states thats names are missing from the roster, Why is that? Are they into slave labor?

  • Jim

I also live in Arizona, and we appreciate any help we can get. There’s a lot of arm-chair, behind screen posters here that haven’t a clue as to what goes on here. Within two miles of me there are 11 undocumented workers, gainfully employed. Two of them have been deported. One has been deported 3 times, and the other twice. They paid a coyote $3500.00 to get them back across. One is using the SS card and the name of a retired SS recepiant. The receipant gets paid $300.00 per month for the use of her card, and she draws a SS check also. Will the Govt. do anything. Hell no, it might be embasassing to the employer, and shut his damn business down. I have called many times, as well as others to no avail. I wish I could, without retribution tell their names here, and the employer….but I would suffer dearly if I did. I could be killed for release of any information….how sad is that????? Help us. I’m not the only one in this situation residing here.Zero, zilch, nada, nothing, nil in the form of support. The US Border simply says, it’s not our jurisdiction.

    • Viktor Leben

      Jim,

To bad their isn’t an underground resistance in Arizona. Something like French Resistance during ww2 (the maquis).

Conservative Americans are very peace loving and do things legally. Change must come from within…….

  • bob.b

the problem her is that nothing has happened to a famliy member of anyone in washington by an illeagal. wait until one of there daughters gets raped or one of their sons get murdered and then see haow fast the borders get closed! they do not care as long as it dosent happen to them! everyone in d.c. need to wake up and see that arizona is doing the right thing by trying to send the illegals back where they came from because obama and his stooges do not have the balls to do it!

All of the states should get on this bandwagon, who knows, somewhere down the line there might be a law that they pass,That might get Obama’s attention and he might do the same thing to them that he is doing to Arizona.
The president should not have the power to sue any state
for anything short of treason. The more power you give a president the more chance you get one in that is corrupt
like the one we have now. Give only the power to the presidency that is allocated in the constitution, congress should not have any more power other than that which is granted to them in the constitution,.department of justice does only what the constitution allows it.
Then you would have each branch of government to stay in the bounds of it’s authority. States right are not to be infringed upon, they also stay in the bounds of what the constitution states. It all gets back to our constituition where it should have been all the time.
There has never been a country like ours and I think it will never be again, so lets all pledge our allegiance
to GOD and to this wonderful country that is America.

The Arizona law is no different from what is happening on Interstate 80 in Pennsylvania. The Immigration officials do “routine” stops to check for illegals. I never hear any locals complain that they were stopped…I just see names of those taken into custody published in the local paper. How is it that only illegals are stopped?

  • GRAMSEY

WE ARE BACKING ARISONA, MOST POLLS DO NOT TELL THAT WE WRE 85 PERCENT FOR ARIZONA THEY ARE JUST NOT SHOWING IT IN A MEANINGFULL MANNER LIKE MASS DEMOSTRAIONS OF SUPPORT. AND BICOTTS JERRY
A BIG YEA TO GOV BREWER A BIG YEA ..JERRY

  • Viktor Leben

Why doesn’t Governor Brewer activate the Arizona National guard ? They could patrol Arizona’s border and kill the criminals …..

  • JeffH

University of Missouri-Kansas City professor Kris Kobach disagrees that Arizona Immigration Law SB1070 is unconstitutional.

“I think the critics who are claiming the bill will not withstand legal challenge need to read the bill.

“The bill will withstand any pre-emptive challenge,” because it is in line with existing federal immigration law, and does not create any new immigration crimes, Kobach said.

President Barack Obama told the Los Angeles Times that he agrees that there are “hundreds of thousands of people coming in” who are “not playing by the rules,” but also that he believes that Arizona has taken the wrong approach to the immigration problem. Obama said that the law risks Americans’ “core values”.
    http://www.theepochtimes.com/n2/content/view/34374/

What does Obama know about “core values”? How to destroy them, that is all.

    • JC

The Kenyan knows nothing at all about American core values. Nothing.

    • Claire

JeffH–you know I have clicked on a few of these sites, and I ended up receiving gobs of emails. I have been flooded with emails regarding gun rights, and now I am receiving them from Michelle Bachmann-my favorite hairball. I laughed out loud. Since I am certainly no fan of hers, I unsubscribed immediately to hers. Most of the others I can handle, especially the ones I receive regarding Jan Brewer.

      • Palin12

        Claire
I get about 6-8 emails everyday looking for political donations LOL

      • JeffH

Claire and Palin12, I probably recieve about 20-30 emails a day from different groups… guess it comes from the “partnerships”…oh well. I just delete most of them and pick through the rest.

Forgive the length of my post, but it’s about something related to Arizona’s immigration law that few people know:

The New England Journal of Medicine’s reputation (or the reputation of a few doctors) is on the line.

Here’s a small but important battle that little people can win: Make the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine (10 Shattuck St., Boston, MA 02115-6030; (617) 734-9800) print a correction of blatant errors it published on June 2, 2010 by a Phoenix neurologist, Dr. Lucas Restrepo-Jimenez, regarding the Arizona immigration law.

If you didn’t take time to read the law (it’s short), it would be easy to be snowed by Restrepo’s words.

It is one thing to express fact-based opinions. It is entirely another to intentionally misquote the law and distort it completely beyond recognition as a means of fear-mongering and opposition to the law, and to masquerade commentary on this misinformation as valid opinion on the topic.

The really bad thing is that Dr. Lucas Restrepo-Jimenez’s letter to the NEJM editor immediately began to be quoted on the internet as a respected doctor’s opinions in opposition to Arizona’s immigration law. These ‘opinions’ were given added weight by being published in ‘the most widely read, cited, and influential general medical journal in the world.’

    1. First, four doctors, all neurologists at the Barrow Neurological Institute and Barrow Neurosurgical Associates (in the Neurology Clinics department of St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, 500 W. Thomas Rd., Ste. 300, Phoenix, AZ 85013 (800) 227-7691) wrote a letter to the Arizona Republic newspaper, ‘Doctors being put in a bad position.’ They claimed to be unsure whether the law required them to report illegal-alien patients ‘based on a vague suspicion of illegality,’ saying that asking patients for their passports violated doctor-patient trust, and that the Arizona law violated ‘one of the oldest traditions of medicine: Physicians shall protect patients regardless of nationality or race.’

See the short letter by four Phoenix neurologists to the Arizona Republic, posted April 24, 2010, at AZ Central:
[http: // www. azcentral. com/ arizonarepublic/ opinions/articles/2010/04/24/20100424satlets244.html] (remove spaces in url)

The four doctors who signed that letter were:
    1) Dr. Robert Frederick Spetzler, Chairman of Neurosurgery
    2) Dr. Roy Andrew Patchell, Chairman of Neurology (formerly of the
University of Kentucky Hospital, Lexington, KY, till Sept. 2009)
    3) Dr. William Richard Shapiro, Director of Neuro-Oncology
    4) Dr. Lucas Restrepo-Jimenez, (Neurology Faculty)

    2. Second, Dr. Lucas Restrepo-Jimenez wrote a letter to the editor of the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM), ‘Arizona Immigration Law and Medical Practice,’ which was published online at the NEJM website on June 2, 2010.

See Dr. Restrepo’s June 2, 2010 letter to NEJM at its June 24, 2010 website page:
[http: // content. nejm. org/cgi/content/full/362/25/2432?query=TOC]. (remove spaces in url)

(Dr. Lucas Restrepo-Jimenez’ letter to NEJM was also included in the 6/23/2010 emailing by nejmtoc@nejm.org of their Thursday newsletter, ‘The New England Journal of Medicine, June 24, 2010.’)

Dr. Restrepo’s letter misquoted the Arizona law out of context (and he did so in quote marks). He claimed that it ‘specifies’ that anyone at all who conceals, harbors or shields an illegal alien is guilty of a class 1 misdeameanor and is subject to a $1,000 fine. He said health care providers could be considered criminals if they don’t report illegal aliens, but that the law gives no guidance as to what constitutes ‘reasonable grounds’ to suspect someone is an illegal alien (though he opined that whites would not be ‘reasonable’ suspects). He went on to say that racial profiling could extend to requiring doctors themselves to carry their passports at all times, and he repeated that the bill threatens the ‘medical tradition’ that physicians are to ‘protect patients regardless of nationality or race.’

In a footnote of implied proof of this latter item (the ‘medical tradition’), he referenced his own 4/24/2010 letter (by himself and his three office mates) to the Arizona Republic.

    3. A rebuttal was sent immediately at the end of June, but has not yet been published by NEJM (located in Brookline, which adjoins the illegal-alien ‘sanctuary city’ of Cambridge) [Sanctuary city list: http: // www. ojjpac. org/sanctuary.asp] (remove spaces in url)

When such a rebuttal is printed, the original author(s) is(are) given an opportunity to reply at the same time, so it takes a little time to get their response and pass it by the editors.

While awaiting the rebuttal’s publication, see the short controversial Arizona bill (which is about people who violate traffic laws or who transport/employ illegal aliens) here: [http: // latimesblogs. latimes. com/washington/2010/05/full-text-arizona-illegal-immigration-law-jan-brewer.html]. (remove spaces in url)

Dr. Restrepo’s letter was not a medical study which required specialized knowledge for the NEJM editors to understand. His deft but questionable handling of language gives a whole new slant to the phrase ‘doctor’s opinion.’

On the other hand, thanks to Dr. Restrepo, now the Phoenix police know to stake themselves around St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center and watch for suspected illegal aliens.

I’m Happy our State also stepped in to help Arizona’s plight. But it’s still un-fathomable to me, that we have to step in and support, a state, within the United States, from persecutions and lawsuits by our own Government!_ Like King George 234 years ago, the power hungry bastards in Washington have gone mad!!!

Has this Guvmt. gone totally bonkers ?? How much longer is this Illegal alien Problem going to be Allowed to continue before concrete action is taken to Stop IT ? People, Time is fastly running out for action. Do these illegal law-breakers have us pegged rightly as woosies ? Isn`t it time we Dumped this Word ” Democracy ?”” And Time we Dumped the Statue of ‘liberty’ into the Bay ?( Or else, Ship it Back to France ?? IT has been nothing but ammunition these ‘wantatake over-our-country non-law abiders to use to their best advantage. Yes, This Country was built up ( To a large extent ) By Immigration of foreigners into this country….. BUT THEY came in the Front Door, in a Legal manner. And were needed here, as well…to build This country..as a Republic..during that Time. THEY learned English, swore allegience to This Country,,,And Worked for their own livelihood..and did not take without giving back ! Now, over four hundred years have passed and There is no more ‘Room at the Inn’, nor can our “Republic’ accomodate anymore immigrants ( So… Go back… better yet, Don`t even think of coming here. There are NO jobs to be had.. No more Freebies, no more Welcoming committee is operating. The Tax payers are now without JOB..because of you, and because of this guvmt. shipping our manufacturing jobs OUT of the Country to Build up their bottom lines even more… ) So.. Rethink trying to find a niche here . ( We can no longer, nor will support you.) Thanx. VGF
