Most U.S. citizens believe President Barack Obama has what it takes to protect us from aliens: the little green ones, that is. According to the poll, 65 percent believe Obama could handle an alien invasion.
“We wanted the pulse on people’s opinions,” said Brad Dancer, senior vice president of research and digital media for National Geographic, who conducted the survey for the new series “Chasing UFOs.” “We wanted to get a sense of how Americans view UFOs, what people believe and how mainstream pop culture may or may not be playing into their opinions on it.”
The survey also revealed that more than 80 million Americans believe aliens exist. Many of those think the government has covered up past invasions.
In May, Jaden Smith, the son of actor Will Smith, asked the President about the existence of aliens during a visit to the White House.
“OK. I can neither confirm nor deny the existence of extraterrestrials,” answered the President.
