New Orders From The PC Police

November 5, 2010 by

*Political correctness has gone too far. I just got a memo from the PC police, ordering me to make the following changes in anything I say for public consumption. I assume other writers have received the same notice, so be prepared for some interesting changes. For example:

  • You are no longer allowed to refer to backwoods denizens of Kentucky, Tennessee or West Virginia as “hillbillies.” They are to be known as “Appalachian-Americans.”
  • Also, never refer to a woman as “easy.” From now on, such lasses are “horizontally accessible.”
  • Oh, and be aware that your wife never “nags” you. Instead, she may be “verbally repetitive.”
  • And ladies, you will no longer refer to a boorish companion as a “total ass.” Instead, he has suffered “a rectal-cranial inversion.”

There were more, but that’s enough for one day.

        Joe H,

You are indeed a brave soul…since to some it might not be a pretty sight…lol. Beauty of course…is in the eyes of the beholder…or so they say…heh heh

Hey, I’m goin on 60, spent 8 years in service, traveled the world. You would be suprised what DOESN’T scare me anymore. Sometimes i think I’ve lived too long, especially when I see what has come to my country!!! The only things keeping me upright is that I refuse to give up, my love for my country, and of course my family!!! Not especially in that order either!!!

      Hello Fed Up Gal,
I acquired in my youth the attributes of a world class shadetree tail feather ruffler, and to use the catch phrase of the week,”I have no regrets”.

On a more serious note, Political Correctness is no laughing matter.

        Hey there Michael J,

How have you been doing? Great to see you on here again.

Very funny (first part of your reply), yet as you say very serious in regards to the article/link you posted. And to think that was 10 years ago and this is even scarier for today.

I read the article very quickly, so was not able to peruse it in detail, but one part I picked up on that just infuriates me is the “hate crimes” portion. If any human being committs a violent act against another human being…they need to be punished to the maximum extent allowed by law…regardless of what group the victim belongs to….period! I’ll try to read the article in more detail later, but wanted to say hello to an old friend…before heading out to run an errand and hit the gym.

        Later, Michael!

PC is nothing more than an attempt to control your thoughts. Through the use of PC the first ammendment goes Bye Bye and you think after conditioning as the liberal government wishes you to. It’s all about control.

  • Vicki

Political correctness (as Charles points out) trys to control your very thought. Kinda like “1984″. The most common method is to make it YOUR problem if I am offended by your speech or expression.

This of course directly violates the precepts of the 1st amendment so if the 1st amendment applies to all government and not just Congress (as the amendment clearly states) then all PC laws are obviously unconstitutional.

    • Vigilant

And beyond the First Amendment, PC can be hazardous to your health. Re: the Fort Hood massacre.

        Good point, Vigilant!
