PARRISH, Fla., Nov. 9 (UPI) — Authorities in Florida said an 18-year-old was arrested after his mother called deputies and asked them to remove marijuana plants from his bedroom.

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were dispatched to the Parrish home Monday evening and Zachary Kirlangitis, 18, arrived at the house during the investigation, the Bradenton Herald reported Wednesday.

Kirlangitis admitted the plants belonged to him, the newspaper said, and he was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana with intent to sell. He was taken to the Manatee County jail in lieu of $5,000 bond.
