Did my ears fail me or did the driver use a fully atuomatic weapon to unload on the Police?

Further investigation reveals that the person shot was in fact, according to reports, the shooter in an earlier armed robbery shooting, and was stopped because he matched the description of that suspect.

The video does *NOT* show the prelude to the fire fight.

It is reported that this individual ignored repeated warnings and commands to halt. Strode directly to the car and got in the car.

So far no report I have found has indicated what if any weapon the suspect had. An interesting oversight by the media.

Ask yourself this question before judging this event too harshly.

If you had your eyes on a suspect matching a description of someone known to be previously armed and dangerous, and who had not hesitated to shoot a store clerk, and this individual made haste to get to his car where it could be easily presumed he had a weapon stashed…

What would you do? Especially, in a low light hostile environment?

You’d nuetralize the threat at the first sign of actual hostile intent, that’s what you’d do.

This is not even close to the situation in Pima County Arizona where SWAT murdered a decorated Marine. SWAT is recorded as not having given adequate warning and one of their own yahoos was so clumsy as to stumble and fall on entry, making his comrades think he’d been shot!

Even though no weapons fire had been heard until they opened up on him.

A marine, that had they done their homework, they’d known he had just got home from third and was probably too deeply asleep to have heard any SWAT announcments had they been timely and audible.

Thank you SCOTUS for making this even nmore likely with your gutting of the 4th Amendment!

well the first time i watched this video a few days a go it looked like the police emptied the shells on the guy in the car because they had surrounded him but then after watching it again if you look closely at 0:14-0:15 there is smoke coming out of the car as if he was the one that sprayed all the bullets out and you could see one of the officers run while he was trying to duck as well.

You d## right, day dun kilt dis man. Once again, the blacks want to stand up for scumbags. They don’t care if you do have it on tape. Just listen to that filthy mouth. It is that mouth that get’s most in trouble. If he wasn’t the right one he should acted as such. If he was kilt because of his stupidity and black arrogance, that’s his dead problem. Sure the ” Leaders” are going to drive the race car out of gas as always, but guess what? He will not know anything about it. You loathed the police so much, you want these black gangsters to be left alone so they can have a chance to do you. How can any group of people be so stupid? Don’t play the race card with me, I am as you are, just have better up bringing and more common sense. Get a grip my people.

Hmmmm… Nessa. I do not see any muzzle flashes from the car. I do see the stuff you called “smoke” but that could also be glass fragments. There is too little resolution in the video to tell.

I did notice that at the end of the video the police are attempting to hold a member of the American Free Press at gunpoint. Further comment in the text under the YouTube video imply that the police may have tried to suppress the video in direct violation of the First Amendment right of a free press.

“They say the only reason this video is still around because they were able to hide a memory card before authorities smashed the phone that captured this incident.
They have hired a lawyer, saying they “want the right thing to be done.”

Obviously there is a lot of missing data about this incident.

It was Navy Seal Team 6 practicing for their next operation.

The problem we have is that the average citizen does not trust or believe the government or police. Therefore when anything happens that smells like brutality we tend to believe that it is another example of the government and it’s followers doing something against the people. In this situation I cannot say if it was right or wrong, only that some will believe it was our controllers doing what they do best.
Can we fix this problem of people distrusting our leadership?
We need a police force that stands for serve and protect, not seek and destroy!

    • JC

The only thing that really jumps out at me, over and above the obvious brutality of an unclear situation, is the attempt by the police to suppress any record of the event.
If it was righteous, why hide anything?

  • lonesomedove

The closing scenes were disturbing, a cop pointing a gun at the photographer! Would that mean that the shooting was a blatant murder? Why else would the camera bother the cop?

  • Michael Ricks

The police are like soldiers. When they put on the uniform they are putting themselves in harm’s way. When things start happening, it is quick, and you only have a few seconds to decide what to do, if someone moves the wrong way, pulls a gun, or fails to acknowledge commands made to them, in combat, or on the street, things could go very wrong.

Common sense would tell me if I was in my car or walking to my car and 5 or 6 policmen or soldiers in uniform all pointed there guns at me, I would do anything they wanted me to do.

Why they seemed to want to get the video’s of this conflict I don’t know. Maybe they wanted it as evidence.

I’m not trying to defend all policemen. A small percentage, don’t need to be on the street. Some soldiers don’t need to be in combat. Some like killing to much.

      Michael Ricks writes:
“Why they seemed to want to get the video’s of this conflict I don’t know. Maybe they wanted it as evidence. ”

Typically when the police want evidence they ask for it or supena it. Taking evidence at gunpoint implies an intent to suppress not protect the evidence.

      • Vicki

That should read “evidence from the press”. (sorry I didn’t write it correctly)

  • Bruce Baker

When the police point their guns at you, it’s best to listen to them and follow their instructions. The guy in the car in this video learned that lesson the hard way. Possible candidate for “The Darwin Awards”.

We, as a society, must believe in the integrity of our law enforcement personnel. . We must be able to trust that, if they are wrong in the beginning, they will straighten it out and do the right thing in the end. . . Surrendering is NOT a natural act for a FREE MAN to do. . That’s why TRUST is so important !!! . . THEY have to conduct themselves in ways which encourage and enable that respect. . For if they do not we all lose ! . . I cannot respect anyone who suddenly transforms into a rogue cowboy the instant he dons a uniform, badge and gun ! . . To SERVE and to PROTECT requires a totally different attitude. .
NO POLICE DEPARTMENT can be so hard up for people to man their forces so as to ignore one who is TOO ANXIOUS to get his hands on a gun and to put on a uniform with a badge. . . That would be evidenced within the results of any Psychological Profile Examination PRIOR to hiring.
COWBOYS need to be sent away with their saddlebags packed BEFORE they ever get around to getting a gun and badge ! . . . I’d rather live in an area short of police officers than in one filled up with irresponsible idiots with a SUPERIOR Personality ! . . . NUFF SAID !
