FRANKLIN, La. (UPI) — Two men on separate walks across the United States said they crossed paths in Louisiana and ended up staying the night in the same house.
Andrew Forsthoefel, 23, of Chadd’s Ford, Pa., and George Throop, 36, of Vancouver, Wash., said they encountered one another in Franklin and swapped stories while staying the night at the home of Paul Fitch, the Morgan City (La.) Daily-Review reported Wednesday.
Forsthoefel, who has walked about 1,400 miles since departing his home Oct. 14, said his walk is aimed at listening to the stories of locals in different U.S. cities and forwarding the idea that everyone is a hero. His journey is being documented at walkingtolisten.com.
Throop departed Vancouver Sept. 20, 2009, and has since walked more than 3,300 miles to spread the word about healthy living. He is sharing information about his journey at enjoythewalk.com.
Both men said they wanted to thank Fitch for his hospitality and compliment the crawfish etouffee he made for them.
