McCain’s About-Face

September 26, 2012 by

McCain’s About-Face
UPI FILE
Senator John McCain is ready to consider ending the war in Afghanistan.

Finally, after 11 long and bloody years, it appears as if the war hawks are growing weary of the perpetual war. Even Senator John McCain (R-Ariz.) said last week: “I think all options ought to be considered, including whether we have to just withdraw early, rather than have a continued bloodletting that won’t succeed.”

This came after House Appropriations Defense subcommittee Chairman Bill Young (R-Fla.) called for an immediate withdrawal of American forces in the country. Both McCain and Young have long been hawkish on Afghanistan. But the increase in the number of attacks by “friendly” Afghan troops on U.S. and NATO forces have caused them to rethink.

Recent attacks by supposedly friendly Afghans killed six coalition soldiers — including two Americans — and resulted in the destruction of six AV-8B Harrier jets used by U.S. Marines. The jets are no longer in production and are irreplaceable.

When the United States invaded Afghanistan 11 years ago, the goal ostensibly was to remove the Taliban and bring George W. Bush’s form of “justice” to Osama bin Laden, the boogie man blamed for 9/11. The Taliban are no longer in control, bin Laden has been killed several times and there is no other (9/11-related) reason to remain.

Of course, 9/11 is not why we’re still there.

Being in Afghanistan, is and has been, a total waste of our precious resources–both monetarily and most importantly, wounded & killed Americans. BRING THEM HOME!!!

    • Mark Read Pickens

“Most important” is not “wounded and killed Americans,” but rather wounded and killed Afghan civilians.

      • Denton

So you’re not saying that the deaths on both sides are equal but putting more importance on Afghan people? C’mon, that’s insane. All lives are equal. Weather it’s a soldier or civilian, life is life.

        • Mark Read Pickens

          Denton:

U.S. soldiers volunteered to be there; Afghan civilians did not.

      • factnotrhetoric

A patsy is someone set up to take the fall for a very evil person.

Until American Soldiers wake up and recognize their war crimes, they are the patsies of the UN/NATO world takeover.

Until American Citizens, including John McCain and Bill Young, wake up and recognize the UN/NATO war crimes, America will be the patsies of the UN/NATO world takeover, paying for it every step of the way with borrowing $1.6 Trillion, Electronically Counterfeited, Dollars from China, plus every tax dollar we contribute.

        Wake up!
It’s against the Geneva Convention, and a war crime to:
        1) Kill 30,000 Libyan men women and children
        2) Bomb and destroy the Libyan Civilian Water infrastructures and water-repair factory
        3) Steal 144 tons of gold from the Libyan people’s central bank
        4) Fund and arm over 2,000 Al Qaeda to invade and overthrow Libya
        5) Kill over 30,000 Syrian men, women and children
        6) Kill over 30,000 Afghanistan men, women and children
        6) Kill over 1-million Iraqi men, women and children
        7) Assassinate over 3500 Pakistani men, women and children with drones.

      • Craig

Hey MArk you need to go live in Afganistan. By your remarks you are against this great country!! GET THE HELL OUT!!

        • Mark Read Pickens

          Replying to Craig:

Actually, I was born here and as much criticism as I have for this country, I still find it to be one of the most free on the planet.

The “Wounded and killed Americans” volunteered to join the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan; Afghani civilians did not volunteer to be invaded. This is why I care more about civilian casualties than military ones.

I was a U.S. Army Sergeant who served from 1966 to 1969. If I’d known then what I know now, I would have resisted the draft and spent time in prison instead.

Since you are opposed to liberty, including freedom of speech, why not move to a more oppressive society?

    • Viet Nam Vet 67-68

And leave a Nuke behind !!!

      • Mark Read Pickens

People have a right to resist invasion. Do you despise individual rights for all people, or merely for those born outside the U.S.?

      • Mark Read Pickens

        Viet Nam Vet 67-68:

Speaking as a former U.S. Army Sergeant (1966 – 1969), the attitude to nuke civilians who had nothing to do with any attack on us is what I was fighting against.

    • Gloria

PLEASE BRING THEM HOME!!! ENOUGH HAS BEEN MORE THAN ENOUGH!!!!!!!!

  • tgsherman

The death’s of our troops is because of Obama!! Had he supported our military instead of apoligizing to our enemys we would still have allies in the Middle East!!

    • Mark Read Pickens

Speaking as a former U.S. Army Sergeant (1966 – 1969), the reason we lack allies in the Middle East is because the U.S. Government (once again) is meddling in another country’s affairs.

Also, loss in Afghanistan is inevitable. The only questions are how many people will die and how much money pissed away.

      • DaveH
      • Viet Nam Vet 67-68

Speaking first hand Viet Nam 67-68 when the Government interferes in the Military operations as they did in Viet Nam they screw every thing up and extend our battlesa and war zones and turn them into killing fiels of Americans not our enemies. According to the General in charge in a documentary the other night if we had bombed Hanoi two times with B52′s they would have surrendered !!! We never bombed Hanoi just the outskirts and never bombed the Main Bridge bring suupplies from Russia and China. Get them out or let them loose to win this war, use the weapons we have to destroy them completely like Sherman Did. Tired of seeing our troops used as pawns for the Cowardly Politicians and McCain put a sock in it you don’t know what Party you belong to.

        • Mark Read Pickens

          Viet Nam Vet 67-68:

The unnamed general you quote made a foolish mistake. He is very naive. Bombing Hanoi would have hardened their resolve and turned the rest of the world even further against us. “Turning the U.S. military loose” would have resulted in a lot more suffering (and expense), but the U.S. would still have gone down in defeat.

Regarding my political affiliation, I support Gary Johnson of the Libertarian Party, in part because he supports a non-interventionist foreign policy.

    • Dee33

I couldn’t agree with you more!!! God bless our troops. God bless the U.S.A.

    • Doc Sarvis

So you blame President Obama for the deaths of American troops in Afghanistan from 2001 to 2008?

      • Honestly

to Doc Sarvis…As I recall the killing of our troops by people dressed as our allies has just been since Obama came into power.

      • Doc Sarvis

        Honestly,
Why would you not count the deaths of our brave troops killed by other Afghanistan fighters? Don’t they count???

      • http://none freddy bee

More troops have been slaughtered and crippled for life from 2008 through 2012 than before. If Obama wasnt making billions of dollars for himself and friends there would be no troops being slaughtered in any wars.

      • Viet Nam Vet 67-68

DOC, no I blame Abominations parents for not following Abomination’s Genocide of killing Babies at will with free Abortions why didn’t they abort the Illegal Kenyan Born Marxist Sunni Muslim now we know BASTARD before she had the Manchurian Candidate Anti Christ Half Breed????

    • eddie47d

Obama does support the troops Tgsherman in two wars that never should have happened. He is ending one war and trying to disengage from the other. Not like those who thought about their own egos in going to war and set up false information to do so. How does it feel to be had by those Presidents and Congressional members who phony up the documents and sacrifice the lives of our family members (Americans)? How many false flag wars does this country have to be involved in before we just say NO! The Denver Post today said that these “accusations against Obama as an apologizer is just plain wrong”. Another false political assumption from the opposition. Now who isn’t an ally that wasn’t 4 years ago? Mubarak used us for years and Morsi will probably do the same so not much change there. Despite all the hype Israel is still the best of buds and the Libyan government has made it clear they want us as an ally which they weren’t last year.

      • DaveH

Obama didn’t plan to end the Iraq war because he wanted to. He planned to end it because the Iraqi Leaders asked him to leave:
        http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/oct/21/iraq-rejects-us-plea-bases

      • Jonathan

Never should of been in? How do you figure that? Al-Quida Attacked America… The Taliban were behind it… The War in Afghanistan was not of America’s making… They are the ones that Chose to come here and blow up and kill Americans on American Soil. As for the War in Iraq… Had it been finished the first time… We never would of had a reason to go back. Who was it that ended it the first time before the Job was done? Wasn’t a Republican…

        • Mark Read Pickens

          Jonathan:

Very few of the people killed by the U.S. military had anything to do with the attacks against us on 9-11. Killing innocent people is never justified, whether American or Afghani.

      • Jonathan

So What were we supposed to do? Stand aside and say American lives don’t matter? It wasn’t false information that sent America to war. Remember 9/11 or have you forgotten that?

      • eddie47d

Jonathan we armed the Taliban or have you forgotten? The 9/11 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia or have you forgotten? Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 or have you forgotten? H Bush (Republican) was in charge of the Gulf War or have you forgotten? No Afghan’s attacked America or even al Qaeda members who happened to be in Afghanistan on 9/11 or have you forgotten? Their wasn’t any WMD or have you forgotten? Both your comments are full of holes so stop using lost American lives as an excuse to spread war.

      • DaveH

They always have excuses to engage their perpetual wars, Jonathan. Read this and wake up:

Johnathan must be either dumb or has a very short memory.Bush 1 was in control for the first Gulf War.If I am not mistaken he was vice president under Reagan. He was a republican. He did exactly what the UN wanted done.We had support in that war we did not have when we invaded Iraq.If you want the truth ask Bush 2 why he didn’t end it in Afghanistan when he had the chance. We had the taliban and al qaida out of Afghanistan. But he wanted his private war with Iraq.He let things fall apart in Afghanistan. It’s his fault we are in a no win situation.

        • Mark Read Pickens

The task of winning the war in Afghanistan was always impossible.

      • Viet Nam Vet 67-68

eddie 47 Duh, they ran into Afganistan and they were part of the Muslim cult or have you foregotten that, they have also moved into Pakistan where more of the Muslim Cultists live and support or have you forgotten?? Its Liberal Stupidity that causes these wars and conflicts or have you forgotten a show of weakness like Carter and Clinton brought on these attacks or HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN and have you noticed your lover and God Abominatioon the Marxist Sunni Muslim just gave $4.6 Billion dollars to the very people that staged these attacks and Murders of our Ambassadore Stevens and his aids and Then this Dick Abomination Apologized to them, why because he is one of them. He supported the new Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt a Terrorist group and Syria and Libya, an American President who bows and Apologizes around the world and tells Americans we have to respect Islam and embrace them. Traitor is the only word besides Marxist that comes to mind for you and Abomination.

    • Eddie G.

Agreed. The Romans never apologized or negotiated with their enemies, they killed them instead. All the sixties flower children who are in the congress now, prolong wars because of their pacifism. War is dirty business and for any victory it has to be decisive. You can’t have “rules of engagement”,or worry about collateral damage. Harry Truman told Japan either knock it off or I drop the bomb on you. They laughed at him. So off to Hiroshima went the Enola Gay B-29 and boom, the city is leveled. Next was Nagasaki. Problem solved,Japan surrendered, war’s over. So no,we don’t pull out of the Middle East with our tail between our legs, you give the S.O.B.s an ultimatum to either cease and desist and surrender or you’re going to get a Harry Truman special greeting. Rock, paper, scissors, BOMB! We win!

      • DaveH

        Spoken like a true Aggressor.

      • Marten The Canadian Libertarian

Dear Eddie G….A lot of Light need to be shone and fresh oxygen needs to be pumped into your fetid, darkness BRAIN……Please have a LIFE

      • Ron L.

Your right, all these people who desperately search for alternate solutions are ignorant to the point of insanity. If you aren’t going to fight dirty till the victory is total and unconditional, than don’t fight at all. enough said.

      • eddie47d

Eddie G ….Wrong!! Romans were also conquers who invaded other countries and territories that didn’t belong to them. Are you still living in that time warp where each nation has a right to take from others? The ones with the biggest toys (army) wins!

      • DaveH

In other words, be the Aggressors. Then try to convince people that the others are the bad guys.

      • Mark Read Pickens

The U.S. is going to lose the war in Afghanistan. The only question is how many more lives will be lost and how much money wasted.

    • JCfromDC

NO ONE… I repeat NO ONE, has ever been able to conquer, befriend, subjugate, or rule all of Afghanistan. It is a hostile people and environment. The Persians couldn’t, the British couldn’t do it, the Russians couldn’t, so what makes US policymakers think that WE can? They can’t even do that, internally, themselves!!! Every prior invasion was repelled eventually (and disastrously for the invader). There is/was nothing “in it” for any past or present occupier. Oh, hmmm… stopping the opium trade maybe? Puh-LEEEZE! It has flourished immeasurably under our occupation! Now the world’s #1 Supplier. Now, #1 livliehood in the country!

The only “up” side of our occupation is that we have permanently altered their landscape, thereby exposing for them a bunch of “natural resources” they weren’t previously aware of.

Time to go, folks! But to our troops: “save at least one bullet for yourselves during the inevitable retreat, lest their women get their hands on you.” I believe one of the British soldiers said that (paraphrased) a long time ago

      • Jonathan

Remember Senator Charley Wilson? Had it not been for him, Russia would of taken Afghanistan. He said all them years ago, “If we do not build schools and educate the Afghanistan people, we will one day regret it.” Guess what? We did.

      • eddie47d

Yes Charley Wilson was a hero but he failed to get those stinger missles back which were used against us. That is one thing about these world wide weapons dealers. Once those weapons hit the market they create more upheaval, skirmishes and wars. POW! Right back at ya!

      • David Baker

We won’t lose the war, we’ll just leave/quit. Abandon the people we rightly or wrongly bent to our will, and leave them at the mercy of those who want power and don’t value human life; and pay lip service to the Koran, which, when in a sticky situation, they plead back on. Like a Muslim 5th amendment plea. I don’t envy the Mothers of Soldiers who are buried in cemetaries all over this country who have to face the fact that their government didn’t support their child, and two, just quit for political purposes. Look up the history of Habbaniya Iraq; British soldiers buried there whose parents thought they were MIA. History repeats itself. It took us years to get past abandoning Vietnam; how long will this take? By quitting, we betray the American people. Try being a Soldier at a FOB, and being told by a professional Congressional Staff Member, that what you are doing is wrong, and the American people aren’t supporting what you are doing. The taste of [expletive deleted] is still in my mouth. What have we done to ourselves?

    • Honestly

to tgsherman…I too believe that this is just another way for Obama to destroy America.

    • Joe Hammond

Put the crack pipe away. You are sounding silly!

  • tom

one thing people don,t understand that if we don,t defeat the terorist there, will they come to us,so i would rather the war be there,i am sorry about our men killed there ,but they gave their lives to bring freedom to a couty that never has seen peace.that country now must pay us in oil for our help.freedom is not free.

    • http://boblivingstonpl.wordpress.com Bob Livingston

      Dear tom,

      You have been deceived.
      http://personalliberty.com/2012/05/14/the-lies-youre-told/

      Best wishes,
      Bob

      • Mike

Bob, so have you. That may have been the case 10 yrs or more but now, they are already here, planning and waiting. Even if we have zero presence in the ME, they will attack us here. Your link makes it sound like they control everything. They are not that good.
I am all for walk softly but carry a big stick policy. It is not a matter of if, but when the attacks happen in the US The Gov’t will use this as a opening to more control.
I am not suprised Juan McCain has flipped. It does help show the strings that are making him dance.

    • Mark Read Pickens

U.S. presence there CREATES enemies. What oil is there in Afghanistan? Your suggestion that the U.S. Government steal their oil to pay for the invasion makes no sense to me.

      • http://ursulariches.wordpress.com ursulariches

Since US has been in Afghanistan the drugs are rushing out of the country. With drugs being illegal -it means that govt forces have a monopoly on supply and on franchises. Legalising drugs would help prevent government being involived in drug dealing and help to end their monopoly over the drugs market. Would this be a good thing? It would make profits less lucrative and the law could be used to protect all dealers and not for the govt agencies to hypocritically hide behind. Do you remember the gun slinging by US govt to Mexico? I will give that as an example of the dodgy stuff the worlds mega corrupt govt forces are involved in.

    • http://www.facebook.com/RagesFury Rage Fury

One thing you fail to understand is that by being there you help create said “Terrorists”, did you think killing a couple hundred thousand civilians would be consequence free?

      • Doc Sarvis

President Obama has put in place, and begun, the path to get us out of Afghanistan.

      • http://jmcgraphicdesignworks.wordpress.com jcfromdc

Yes, Doc, and look at the “fine job” he has done so far, when he told us he would get us out BEFORE he was elected.

      • Doc Sarvis

He got our combat troops out of Iraq ahead of schedule.

      • DaveH

We still are in Iraq, Doc. Obama only planned to exit because the Iraqi Leaders have asked him to:

Holy [expletive deleted], Tom. I don’t mean to be an [expletive deleted] but you really have a misguided view of what’s going on in that part of the world. I mean, all of our realities’ are distorted in one way or another but your view is really off the mark compared to the reality of the situation.

Remember when he touted U.S. military “progress” by walking around a market in Baghdad and claiming a year ago he couldn’t have done that?

He apparently forgot to mention that he was surrounded by 100 heavily armed infantrymen, with armored vehicles around the perimeter, and attack helicopters overhead.

Then, to top it off there was a picture of him at that event wearing a flak jacket!

A week or so later, about half a dozen people were killed at that same market.

      Some progress!

I dont know dead Americans or Dead Afghans; either ones horrible for the dead and their families. Lets just let our addicts buy their Heroin and our wives buy their rugs and get the hell out.

  • Frank Gomez

    Bring them home!

  • Gea

A young Afghani man who works for the Afghani government was visiting US sponsored by a State Department and spoke at the World Affairs Council, on the topic of “Conflict resolution”. He pleaded with Americans NOT to leave, because he said that Taliban will immediately come back (since they are armed) and destroy whatever US managed to build there. Then he said, US and NATO will have to come back because Taliban will resume training of terrorists and send them all over the world, particularly to Europe and USA where large numbers of Muslims make it easy for them to hide.

Islamism MUST be defeated, just as Nazism was and Islam itself MUST REFORM or has no place in any decent society which respects liberty and human rights. Barak Hussein Obama are now working hard to subvert US Constitution by claiming that First Amandement needs to put limites on the Freedom of Speech to “protect respect for Islam”. Mohamed was a pedophile, polygamist, rapist and a murderer who in any decent society would be tried for his crimes and not taken as a role model for 1.4 BILLIONS of Muslims. 57 Muslims majority countries are all falling backwards toward middle ages of barbarism since their religious fanatics are taking over. Western civilization is under an attack by Islam and must DEFEND itself from this scourge,

Islam is a supremacist ideology similar to Nazi ideology with its delusional Jew hatred which led to Holocaust in WWII. In addition, Islam also condones pedophilia, polygamy, dhimmitude, misogyny and murder for Allahu akbar, including “honor” murder of their children and wives. IT has not place in ANY decent society!

    • eddie47d

The Taliban are nothing more than nationalistic militias being driven by religious indoctrination. They fought the Soviets and now the American occupiers of their lands. Whether we stay or go won’t make much of a difference in how they think . Since we can’t seem to win the hearts and minds of the Karzai government then what is the use. Only they can enact real change in that country and they can’t even figure out who is infiltrating their army. You are wrong again on that Obama statement you made GEA. He has stated in why the USA “values so highly the first amendment”.”We do so in a diverse society, efforts to restrict speech can become a tool to silence critics or oppress” “We do so because given the power of faith in our lives, and the passion that religious differences can inflame, the strongest weapon against hateful speech is not repression,it is more speech”. “There is no speech that justifies mindless violence” (in reference to the consulate attacks) “free speech lift up the values of understanding and mutual respect”. Hardly words denouncing the 1st Amendment.

    • Polski

      AMEN!!!

  • Sgt. York

I think most have it wrong. The wars in Afghanistan and Iraq were necessary it’s just it was not done in a expediencies way. We went there at first to win then to win over people then to get out. We needed to go there to WIN period. If we do not want to win to stop Muslims and there militant Islamic Nuts then we need to leave, but win we must for our own survival as a Free Country. McCain is a flipper so don’t take anything he says as real.

    • Doc Sarvis

Bush put us in Iraq and Afghanistan with no way to pay for the wars. He had no justification for Iraq and not sufficient force in Afghanistan. He had no plan going in other than win and winning had NO definition. Both disasters from the start and NOT how our brave men and women in uniform should be used/treated.

    • Mike

We went into Iraq for no reason. Afghanistan I could have understood the twisted logic. There was no need or forethought to any of this. They do not understand the mindset of these guys. Do the homework on who was responsible. Find them. Send in a few hundred planes to flatten the area. Sweep thru and kill anything associated to them and pull out. Let everyone know this is what they will get. Full scale deployments were either totally ignorant or treasonous. They only play at war, not execute it.

    • Mark Read Pickens

The attack on 9-11 was a pinprick compared to U.S. losses in Afghanistan. The idea that a military victory is possible is fantasy. We could spend trillions of additional dollars and commit hundreds of thousands of troops and all it would accomplish is delay inevitable defeat.

  • Pappy

Hmmm. So, some of you commenters were active duty…during the Vietnam era? Really? I was in Afghanistan in 2007 and I am still active duty. I’m so sick of the BS about “killing a couple hundred thousand civilians.” Total BS! Your US fighting men and women are not killers of innocents…not even with our bombs. The overwhelming majority of civilian casualties have been at the hands of the taliban! I was on the ground outside the wire for much of my tour, but I am Air Force, Know who is doing the senseless killing before you lament the deaths of theirs before ours! Rarely do we even have collateral deaths. We kill those who attempt to harm us first…and if you think our presence makes them dislike us, you are still wrong. Many in the region (among the population) like us, but those who despise America will despise us even after we leave. Don’t be naive. Another problem I saw first hand was the inability to instill standards because of our policies. I was ETT with the ANA and our own policies get in the way of progress. We were not allowed to offend them about their rampant corruption within. If you are training their military with our military, but integrity is not a standard we are allowed to address (starting with Karzai), we are doomed to fail. Even I say, bring them home, but I say it because I know from personal experience…not from 1969 or from what I read in some blog.

If we had kept out and not stirred up George Soros “Arab Spring” Qadaffi would still be in charge in Libya–and the Salafissts would have been brutally suppressed, the military would be keeping a stable situation in Egypt and the “rebels” in Syria would not have been able to massacre as much of the population in their quest for a Sunni theocracy and international caliphate.

If the United States withdraws from Afghanistan immediately, the country will devolve into an unstable region of local tribes and warlords. If we wait ten years, same result. If we wait 100 years, same result. The tribal areas of Afghanistan (and Pakistan and Kashmir) are tribal areas–the nation state is a foreign concept.

“……bring George W. Bush’s form of “justice” to Osama bin Laden, the boogie man blamed for 9/11.”

You just can’t let it go can you Bob. The “boogie man”? There are only a few humans in the civilized world that think Bin Laden was not behind the 9-11 attacks. Congratulations on being one of them. Geez

The war in Iraq was a total disgrace, however the war in Afghanistan I thought was justifiable at the time.Thinking back on the strategy in Afghanistan of bringing forth all of our military might to blow them back to the stone-age was crazy. They were barely out of the stone-age.The lives that were lost and the the brave men and women put in harms way and are crippled for life. the treasury of the United States depleted.Just makes you wonder if only Obama and Seal Team Six were around in the beginning with such a great strategy how different things would be.For us to vote in another warmonger like Romney would be the end of these United States.Romney the conscientious objector of the Vietnam war and ran off to France and live in in a castle until the wars end.Now he wants to be the leader of the troops, I guess he only objected about his own ass being blown to bits but doesn’t give a rip about anybody else’s.I could never vote for a coward like that.

  • Strighttothepoint!!!!!

Vote For Gary Johnson and let’s actually get a change for the better. How about it Bob, are you with us? The effect of liberty in the US and the disenfranchisement of the capital/fascist regime will effect more peace and world stability than anything else but voting for the lesser of evil is still evil.

  • Simian Pete

Was this the terrorist attempt to kill Britain’s Prince Harry ? Or is this a new incident, caused by so called “friendly” Afghan troops we are training ? Six soldiers dead ! Can’t replace these brave individuals. The meek and/or cowardly (I’m one) are safely at home while the honorable and brave die …

What about them Harriers ? According to Wikipedia they cost on the upside of 30 million a piece. So that’s 180 million dollars ….

The F-35 is suppose to replace them Harriers, the Marine variant uses a different lighter alloy – it’s a V/STOL fighter – that keeps cracking in test. Maybe they solved the problem by now and that’s old news.

Afghanistan has been a blood thirsty savage nation for 10,000 years. Why should we keep slaughtering and crippling our finest young women and men trying to change them when it is impossible. Obama has brought hundreds of thousands of his Blood thirsty savage muslim brotherhood friends and relatives to the USA. All the muslim men also brought their 5,6 and 7 year old female sex slaves with them. They were all put on welfare, food stamps and free government housing. There is a good possibility that when obama yells allah akbar from the white house steps we will need all our troops here at home. Vote to save America. Do not renigg in 2012.

    • David Baker

Freddy, you failed to mention the predilection for young boys, when their women are “unclean”. An Afghan folk tale, describes how when doves cross Pashtun territory, they fly with one wing over their asses.

    • Joe Hammond

Great racist rant. Don’t forget to don your hood and clean the sheep off your swizzle stick!

No, they are not “growing weary”-They have been caught with “their hands in the cookie jar” and with their “pants down” so-to-speak . In simpler terms, the PEOPLE are waking up to the truith about PERPETUAL WARS, thanks to the Alternative Media, such as Personal Liberty Digest, Alex Jones, Lew Rockwell, Campaign for Liberty, Open Media etcertera AND the politicians know it !

  • Lee

Oh you mean we are tired if Bombing rock’s. War mongers should study history a little more before investing Trillion’s of tax payers dollars in these wasted war’s. They could pay for the oil they want instead of spending Trillions of dollars of fighting caves and rock’s. Stop with the foreign aid and start building the infrastructural and the factory’s in this Country again. With all that money they give away I’m sure we could make our own underware and sock’s again and put Americans back to work. In a Business since they run this Country down the tub with all the stupid laws they pass on Business just so Corporations can control everything ,They send our son’s and daughters to war while there kids go to College. Until we get politicians in office that really care about the people they are suppose to Represent in office this Country will keep slipping in the toilet.

It’s about time someone are rethinking.. It is time to redraw now and in 2014… They can kiss their butts good-bye…

  • steve

They put so many rules and regulations on the soldiers that they can’t do the job they went there to do. Bring ‘em home until their allowed to fight and win.

    • Mark Read Pickens

      Steve:

Since “winning” is impossible, bringing the troops back now makes the most sense. At least it would minimize the harm.

  • AZ-Ike

    Mr. Livingston,
I am sorry I haven’t had the time to read today’s comments and maybe my opinion has already been stated.

As an Arizonan, I can tell you that every election, even one in which McCain is not seeking re-election, his ‘war rhetoric’ is always toned down, and his comments relating to non-war issues are geared to what voters want to hear. McCain is the consummate corrupt politician. Once the election is over (and Rep. Jeff Flake, who also has no respect for the Constituion, is elected to fill retiring Sen. Jon Kyl’s seat) McCain will return to his normal war-mongering, anti-constitution stance.

Without addressing the issue of whether our troops should be in any of the countries currently occupied with our troops, we should NEVER remain in a country in which the so-called ‘friendlies’ are killing, or even threatening, our men and women. Personally, I think we should remove all of our troops and hardware and then use other military resources to teach Afganistan exactly why their behavior is unacceptable.

Thank you for your article and your publication. I may not always agree with everything, but I find it a valuable resource of conservative news and opinion.

    • Mark Read Pickens

      AZ-Ike:

At least “removing all of our troops” would stop additional damage, but “using other military resources” doesn’t solve the problem. The more harm the U.S. causes, the more enemies and long-term jeopardy it creates for people, such as myself, who had nothing to do with this madness.

    • http://boblivingstonpl.wordpress.com Bob Livingston

      Dear AZ-Ike,

You write: “As an Arizonan, I can tell you that every election, even one in which McCain is not seeking re-election, his ‘war rhetoric’ is always toned down, and his comments relating to non-war issues are geared to what voters want to hear. McCain is the consummate corrupt politician.” I have observed this myself, though probably not to the degree you have, and agree with you.

You write: “Thank you for your article and your publication. I may not always agree with everything, but I find it a valuable resource of conservative news and opinion.” Thank you for your kind words.

      Best wishes,
      Bob

The goyim McCain and the chosen one Levin devised NDAA. May these bastards burn in Hell.

  • Joe Hammond

War is a racket and there is too much money to be made for the 1% to stop all the wars. As a result we have in one corner Obama who continues the war long after we should have left….And in the other corner we have Romney who can’t wait to start a war with Iran because his “friendly toy” Nastyahoo says so.

Not enough soldiers to take on 78 million Iranians….Can the middle class say “draft” and wish their sons goodbye?
