Marlins Manager Says He Loves Fidel Castro

Marlins Manager Says He Loves Fidel Castro
Miami Marlins Manager Ozzie Guillen told Time magazine he loves Fidel Castro.

Ozzie Guillen, the manager of the Miami Marlins, is fishing for an explanation after he told Time magazine, “I love Fidel Castro.”

Vigilia Mambisa, a Cuban-American group that describes itself as a “hard-line, right-wing, Anti-Castro, Anti-communist group of dedicated Cuban-American demonstrators,” plans to boycott the Marlins as long as Guillen is at the helm.

Guillen addressed the issue in a closed-door meeting with the team’s beat writers before Saturday’s game against the Cincinnati Reds:

“I will apologize if I hurt somebody’s feelings, or I hurt somebody’s thought. I want them to know I’m against everything 100 percent — I repeat it again — the way this man (has been) treating people for the last 60 years.”

Guillen plans to apologize again at Marlins Park today, according to The Associated Press.

“We are aware of the article,” said a statement from the Marlins franchise. “There is nothing respectable about Fidel Castro. He is a brutal dictator who has caused unthinkable pain for 50 years. We live in a community filled with victims of this dictatorship, and the people in Cuba continue to suffer today.”

Guillen, who is from Venezuela, lives in a section of Miami known as Little Havana. He became a U.S. citizen in 2006.

Doesn’t seem to make much sense. He’s from Venezuela yet loves Castro? OK, so he leaves Chavez territory, comes to the U.S., does quite well since he’s managing a MLB team yet states for Time magazine that he loves Castro? Hmmm, could he possibly be a Chavez plant or then again, a Castro mole? Makes about as much sense as the rest.

He with millions of others we have already been invaded and to blind to see it!!
our pc world is going to do us in. We can thank him for being honest. Wake up America

If Ozzie Guillen ‘loves Fidel Castro’… then he’s gonna love our gov, too… it’s full of them. (communists)

He’s probably saying he’s sorry now because he doesn’t want to lose his job… that’s fine, but he is still pro dictator and pro communist.

I didn’t see the original article, but could this statement have been said in jest?

Just wondering what context it was said in, if anyone knows.

    this guy is a moron.

    • Nadzieja Batki

Now he is a suspended moron. But not to worry, Castro will give him a job.

Was he born after 1955? If before, refer to the nature we don’t know.

It appears that the non-taxpaying subculture in America is embracing communist doctrine here, just like they did in their home countries. They are all after our property.
Conversely, in the past, immigrants to American assimilated into society and contributed. These new deadbeats need to be sent packing. I will NEVER watch a Marlins game again… whether he is there or not.
There is a real message here… and he’s still there… nuf said!

Real simple fix and everybody is happy! Remove Ozzie Guillen’s visa or whatever he is here under. Give him a one way ticket to Cuba, Escort him to ad onto the boat . Wave to him and bid him a fond bon voyage. Lety him now live with Castro and do not allow him to return to the USA! Now The Cuban Americans are Happy and oozie is happy with his loved one. And the Marlins can get them a manger that loves The USA and not some Communist Dictator!

Check on ozzie in 2 years and see how well he is doing financially in Cuba, Ask him if he is Happy now!?
Then inform him how happy we are that he is where he should be!

Castro not only had a good fastball, he’s stood up to successive American governments and survived, I gotta admire that. The revolution he led was against an oppressive American puppet regime, and believe it or not, people would usually rather choose their own dictator. Why hasn’t the US government learned from this? We continue to invade and meddle all over the world. Thing is, he would have been out of there a long time ago if the US hadn’t placed sanctions on Cuba. We turned him from an oppressive dictator to a national hero by our arrogance. Those sanctions have been there 50 years, Usually, if you have a brain, and something doesn’t work after all that time, you try something new.

oh yeah, its because american “representatives” aren’t working for americans, they’re working for Cuban Americans, Jewish Americans and any other little special interest group with green. Trade with cuba would not only help some Americans, it might help to get rid of castro. Meanwhile, Cubans here need to just get over it, like the Irish did and the Poles did, etc. etc. Pay your taxes and watch the stupidity like everybody else.
