Man Used Stolen Excavator To Take ATM
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., (UPI) — Police in North Carolina said a man stole an excavator from a construction site and used it to steal an ATM from a bank kiosk.
Winston-Salem police said the excavator, which belongs to Whiting-Turner Construction, was stolen from a construction site and driven about 200 yards to the Allegacy Federal Credit Union around 1 a.m. Monday, the Winston-Salem Journal reported Tuesday.
The suspect, described as a white male wearing a dark hoodie, dark pants and a dark cap, used the excavator’s claw to knock over the ATM kiosk at the credit union and then used the machine to lift the 2-ton ATM into a waiting vehicle.
