Lose One With The Gipper

Lose One With The Gipper

Last week, the liberal stars once again aligned, as a Democratic effort to tie the increasingly irrelevant President Barack Obama to the dearly departed President Ronald Reagan was swallowed up by the black hole of liberal ignorance. The starship MSNBC, staffed as always by the crew of misfit liberal sock puppets, went down first.

Citing 1987 comments by Reagan, five of MSNBC’s primetime inmates claimed that Reagan spoke in favor of a tax hike remedy to the nation’s deficit problems. To bolster their Democratic masters’ case, each showed a video clip which seemed to support their party’s talking points: “… I am going to meet with the leaders of the Senate because it is high time to bring down the deficit and get us on a path… toward a balanced budget.” Taken by itself, that quote certainly sounds more like Obama than Reagan. But there was a teensy little issue for the Democrats’ lead cable communicators, and it involved a serious breach of journalistic ethics and… all right, you caught me… MSNBC’s tinfoil hat brigadiers wouldn’t recognize journalistic ethics if they came up and stole Ed Schultz’s Thorazine.

If your sole source of information is an entirely discredited propaganda outlet like MSNBC, you might not know they were lying to you. What the airheads in Obama crony Jeff Immelt’s cage did with that clip was a serious sin of omission. Here’s what Reagan actually said that day: “I have not changed my opinion about ever accepting a tax that will have a deleterious effect on the economy, and most tax increases do. Taxing is not the policy, or the problem, with the deficit. The deficit is due to too much spending… every dollar of increased revenue has been matched by a dollar and a quarter of increased spending.”

Oops.

The situation for MSNBC actually gets worse. The cherry-picked Reagan pronouncement reportedly started its life in the creepy confines of the so-called Congressional Progressive Caucus, a gathering of about 80 of the most blatantly corrupt (Rep. Bernice Johnson, Rep. Charles Rangel), most unhinged (Rep. Dennis Kucinich) and most appallingly stupid (Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, Rep. Hank Johnson) members of the House. The CPC got the ball rolling, and MSNBC, followed by the usual rogue’s gallery of corporate media sideshow rejects, used it to rile ignorant charges into a righteous — albeit wrongheaded — fury.

But there’s a deeper subtext involved. It’s not exactly news that MSNBC’s prime-time lineup consists of feckless liberal sycophants who gladly carry the water for Democratic overlords. But five talking hairdos regurgitating the same misleadingly edited snippet provided gratis by the batty bloc of the Democrat Party, all in an effort to link Obama to Reagan? Liberals hate Reagan. Of course, liberals hate everyone who isn’t liberal, but Reagan? It’s the equivalent of the Personal Liberty Digest™ toasting the anniversary of the October Revolution. Surely, the Democrats’ desperation to hold onto their fading vision of a socialist utopia ushered into existence by The Savior (the one, not The One) hasn’t forced them into such dire circumstances that they’re willing to identify with the most reviled (by liberals) political figure of the past three decades.

Unless it has: TIME Magazine’s Feb. 7 issue marked the Gipper’s 100th birthday with a cover featuring a Photoshopped image of Obama together with Reagan. The Obama-as-inheritor-of-Reagan’s-mantle fable, which has been manufactured by liberals, is gathering steam as 2012 approaches.

Here’s the thing: I knew Ronald Reagan (well, I met him once — big day for me, not so much for him). Barack Obama: You, sir, are no Ronald Reagan.

I love it Ben, a Good LMAO read!___Much to the the dismay of the Liberals, there is plenty of us left who remember Ronald Reagan The Actor and “President Reagan” the man.__A good friend of mine also made this comparison of Obama being “just like” Ronald Reagan, I had the same reaction to her comment, as I did when I heard the Liberals trying to paint Bam Bam as “Another Reagan”__ROFLMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!
NO COMPARISON, NOT IN A MILLION FRICKIN’ YEARS!
Again Ben__Right on the Money!__You made the Real “Gipper” Proud!

    • Handyman

hitler in chief (duplicate) is what obozo is. I remember hitler, obozo is a mirror image of him. Nothing like RR, He is all evil, history proves it. The children of today don’t remember that dangerous man hitler. obozo is the same as hitler was, that I remember clearly, from the past.

      • FreedomFighter

You could see the greatness in Ronald Reagan, his love for America, his pride in our values and heritage. His every act an affirmation of his devotion to what we call the “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”.

We are in dire need of another Ronald Reagan.

          • denniso

I guess we should forget that Reagan tripled the national debt, and really began our huge debt problems. We should also forget his misguided and counter productive wars in Latin America that killed thousands and created police states there. Should we likewise forget that he was a traitor to the country,in secretly supplying missiles to Iran in exchange for hostages? Iran, who was and still is our mortal enemy…Reagan also spent the second half of his second term in a pathetic fog of dementia and should have been removed as commander in chief for his inability to function at the level required of the position. But you Reagan lovers do remember that his wife used astrology to schedule his life?

Yes,we should forget all the facts of the Reagan presidency and march in line to ‘hail to the chief’,as we gloss over all his flaws and screw ups and illegalities.

          • DaveH

Reagan didn’t triple the National Debt, Congress did. Congress was out of control during the 80s and even Ronald Reagan couldn’t stop them. He vetoed 78 spending bills, and 9 of those vetoes were overridden by the rabidly spendthrift Congress.
It’s interesting that you are admitting the debt is a problem, Denniso. So when are you going to start railing about Obama’s spending and borrowing?
Reagan wasn’t diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease until a few years after his presidency. No doubt he was already suffering somewhat during his presidency. But even at that, Reagan still could run logical circles around the clueless Liberals.
As to the rest of your conjecture, Denniso, perhaps you could supply some references to back up your fabricated facts?

          • joel

Deniso, Reagan had more brains in his little finger the day He died than Barry has in His prime. I would need the proof to convince Me that He made it past third grade ! Annnd, I don’t know about You, but it seemed to Me things were a little bit better when Reagan was in charge!

          • denniso

Is DaveH really so devoid of a knowledge of recent history that he needs sources to back up the obvious facts of Reagan’s presidency? What a joke! Arms for hostages? Secretly funding the contras in Nicaragua? Rightwing death squads funded in El Salvador and Guatemala?
If you and other dimwits aren’t aware of our history then you should read up on it in real books, not on rightwing sites. It sure explains some of the dumba** comments here…no real knowledge of history, both recent and older.

        • Bus

That exactly is the difference. Ronald Reagan had a love of America and a faith that American’s could pull themselves up and create a great country and economy. B.O. hates the success of America and has a belief that people are generally too stupid to function without the government…Makes sense since he never achieved anything on his own merits.

          • Angel Wannabe

Bus “Ronald Reagan had a love of America and a faith that American’s could pull themselves up and create a great country and economy”
__and Reagan Knew how to convey that Love and Faith to the American People!

        • Alex

Ronald Raygun, largest deficit creator, traded arms for American hostages in Iran and traded weapons for drugs in Central America.
As Governor of California, he wished an epidemic of botulism on the very children he was sworn to protect—bet you Reich Wingers forget that one, but you can look it up.

The joke is on you—-Raygun didn’t ‘defeat’ Communism, he merely outspent them—-WITH YOUR MONEY!!! HAAA! So, now, what do we have? An unstable Russia, still decidedly anti-Amerikan, with buckets of nuclear weapons and an awkward transition to the more evil Capitalism. By nature, Capitalists eat each other alive. So what we face, thanks to Raygun’s mortgaging of your future, is on one hand, China, on the verge of becoming the world’s only economic and military superpower, and Russia—agitated, confused, young…and armed to the teeth. In the middle, we slouch—tired, weak, broke—split by our legacy of class warfare and, well, just plain meanness, and cursed by the Evil we have done—arming terrorists, genocide, Hiroshima, Vietnam, Tulsa, etc—you know, “American Exceptionalism”. We are cooked….

          Thanks, Raygun! Rot in Hell.

          • Angel Wannabe

alex, “what goes around, comes around my Friend”, you may be rotting there too.

Alex, it appears you may be on the verge of a nervous breakdown. I sincerely hope that you are not entertaining the idea of committing mass-murder, like your pal in Norway! Come to think of it, you may want to keep an eye on your pal denniso as well, you both sound like you’re ready for the funny-farm!

          • http://naver samurai

OMG! Are we drunk on the lib kool aid again or are you just behaving normally? Since Obama bin Laden is more like that fascist and atheist Hitler, which Regan was not, how can you compare the two? It’s like trying to compare a patriot with a lib traitor and coward. They are never the same and never the two shall twain. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

          • John

Everyone who thinks Alex is a traitor to the U. S. and the values that formed this country, say yep, and wish him well in a communist country, and hope he enjoys living there. Alex, please move to Sibera

          • lenny

alex, after you learn how to spell you should move to china or russia and see if it’s a better life. that’s what obama is out to give us. reagan was the man who gave us a better life

      • Angel Wannabe

Handy man & freedom fighter, Agreed!__ Most of the German people and the Jews never saw the holocaust coming. Men like Hitler are born and bred. Sadly the masses are stupid or Politicians count on it when moving forward with an agenda__ Hitler would have never risen to power with a majority of informed people, we just don’t learn history, do we?__BUT, It gets harder and harder to learn from history, when it keeps being revised.

    • Jim 62

The DEM’S don’t have the Balls to admit that their party has been taken over by the COMMUNIST……..

      • denniso

The blantant stupidity of the rightwing never ceases to amaze me! A ‘communist’ president who bailed out some of the largest corporations in the world. I wonder what the real communists think of that?

        • Jack Kinch(1uncle)

Capitalism made this the greatest country ever. Nomobama bailed out the auto coompanies just to save union jobs, illegally fired the CEO and illegally gave much ownership to the union.Financial institutions should never have been allowed to merge eliminating competition and get too big to fail. Nomobama was elected only because he is black. No qualifications. History of voting ‘present’ rather than make a decision like the lower spending plan. He’s just present without a teleprompter.

        • DaveH

You don’t know much about Communism, do you Denniso?
The Leaders always live high compared to their unfortunate victim citizens.
And I will remember that you admitted Obama bailed out some of the largest corporations in the world. It probably won’t be long before you do your typical Liberal flip-flop and claim he didn’t.

        • Alex

denniso– You are dealing with sheeple who suck all of their ‘news’ from the Faux Noose gaspipe. Sheeple who toss around words like ‘Socialist’ and ‘Marxist’ and ‘vetted’ and ‘New Black Panther Party’ and ‘debt ceiling’ and ‘bloviate’ and ‘Progressive’ because they hear them and the weird new words seem to fit somehow into the tiny myopic view of the world they have.

As usual the Liberal has no facts to report, so must instead launch personal attacks.

          • Jay

As I pointed out before Dave, alex and denniso are mindless “Attack Dogs”, “Sock Puppets”, “Liberal Lap Dogs”, and Anti-American! Their agenda; to create and promote hate, cause dis-unity, and lead people away from meaningful dialogue. Responding to their provocative statements, is in essence, walking right into their trap! That’s what they get paid for!!!!

          • denniso

Jay, do you work at sounding like an idiot,or does it just come naturally? You complain that a hanful of us make ‘provacative statements’ and spread hate? Wow! Listen to what they say, find the information and not the spin the media puts on it. Search for the truth of the issue, not the propaganda

  • Alex

I about threw something through the TV last night when Obama compared his policies and agenda to Reagan. Obama has some nerve. Reagan opposed virtually every last thing that came out of Obama’s mouth.

    • BobK

Alex, I turned off the TV at precisely 9PM last night – I am usually a very mild mannered person, but I can only take so much of his arrogance, half truths, lies, etc. So, to avoid the stress, I just tune him out and hope that, at some point in the future, he will become just another irrelevant democrat (although I do fear that may not happen soon enough).

      • independant thinker

I watched Pawn Stars. Someone else can make the jokes about it my brain is tired today.

    • USAF VET

Alex, you don’t EVEN want me to repeat what I called him last night. It’s not something I would say in polite company. BHO is the Liar-In-Chief, and if anyone has ever tripled the National Debt, it is him. Like Ronald Regan said “Government IS the problem”. These Liberal idiots think they can create jobs. Goverment has never created a real job, it is a robust economy that creates them, and the lower the taxes the more money companies have to hire workers and produce goods for the people to buy.

    • Robert Smith

Posted: “Obama has some nerve. Reagan opposed virtually every last thing that came out of Obama’s mouth.”

      ROFL…

Reagan did Amnesty, Obama hasn’t yet.

Reagan didn’t build up the borders, Obama has.

See http://www.aolnews.com/2010/05/26/mexicans-differ-over-national-guard-build-up/: “President Barack Obama’s decision to dispatch 1,200 further National Guard troops to the Mexican border and spend $500 million to step up border patrols…”

      The Mexicans don’t like it.

      Etc.

      Rob

  • Tim

The beloved Ronald Reagan? I guess so if you are very wealthy. You can throw stones at me until Hell freezes over but the fact remains that Reagan did his best to destroy the middle class. He was a worthless SOB who was all about the rich. Start throwing!

    • DaveH

Do you see a middle class in Cuba, Tim? Do you see a middle class in North Korea? Everybody is Poor, except the Leaders and their Friends.
Big Government destroys the middle class by using them as cash cows to fund their various schemes — vote buying with the welfare state, empire building around the world with the military, protectionism of their favorite Crony Capitalists (ADM, GE, UAW, etc.).
Liberals just don’t get it — Big Government is the Problem, NOT the Solution. The Leaders are using those who just won’t do the necessary homework, and the necessary thinking.

If we want a robust middle class, and poor who are poor only because they refuse to take care of themselves, then we need to shrink Government dramatically and get the Government out of our Economy. Any solution that includes increasing Government will only exacerbate the problem.

      • combatvet

        Dave,

Tim is a serial troll who wouldn’t know a real American patriot if the patriot hit him in the face, actually a pleasant thought. Reagan was a man who loved America. Tim’s love interest, Barry Hussein Soetoro is a spineless anti-American bi-sexual. The sob here is TinyTim. Take him out with the trash. You can’t reason with a mindless sellout, on the government dole, who has the lack of character to disparage an American icon and the most popular President of the last century! There is no need to respond to a deranged knuckle dragger!

        • kb says

          YES!!! Well said!

    • s c

T, it sounds like you have a personal problem with the media whores that you normally see as infallible, world-class icons. Is the ultralib stench getting too strong for you to tolerate in the name of unity these days?
When media whores can find ways to look at Reagan as someone who may have done some things right, you KNOW there’s something going on that needs to see the light of day, dude. What needs to be appreciated is how little character the media has, who its current ‘heroes’ are and the obsessive need that the progressive mentality has to change standards like they’re dirty diapers. Here’s the talcum powder, comrade. Enjoy.

    • Lost in Paradise

The middle class America has destroyed itself by Unionism, and being just downright greedy gluttens. Two to four new vehicle, plus a $35k bass boat,a 3000Sq. ft. house, and on and on. Give me a break!!!

    • JR

Hey Tim….so why is the President trying to tie himself so closely to him? Maybe because he can persuade those who supported Reagan to align to him? Even 30 years later….Reagan has more suppport than Obama or any other President has had since.

      You are correct, Tim.

How can you tell such untruths denniso? Under Reagan, who was president when I first came to America with my husband, the dollar and the economy was very strong, but Obama has destroyed them both. No one messed with us, just ask the Cubans, syrians, PLO, Russians, and many others around the world. Now, we are nothing more than a laughing stock. I hope this nation gets back to the way it is supposed to be. Going by the Constitution and the beiefs of our Christian founding fathers. I hear that you don’t believe in God? That may be your opinion, but don’t force your lies on me. I know better. Thank you.

Many of the founders were not Christians, look it up. We are not a Christian country, look that up. We are a country w/ many religions and many non believers as well, that happens to have a majority of Christians.

You can believe in whatever god you choose, since we have freedom of religion here…Christian god,Hindu god, pagan godesses, earth god,Muslim god, fairy gods, gay gods,or no god. I happen to believe there is no god to believe in and that it’s all a figment of your imagination and upbringing/indoctrination. Primitive people believed in many gods because they were ignorant of the world and the laws of physics…some of us are not primitive anymore.

You have a way with words like know other!Reagan was my governor in Kaly
and that’s when they really hated him.He told them that they were not going to stay on the welfare rolls and he was going to cut them all off. That’s when it started He turned around the economy then and did the same when he was elected prez. The things that he put into motion that was going to take at least 4 or more years to start showing that bubba clinton took credit for was some of his greatest works. Thanks for the laugh!

  • denniso

Are we supposed to forget that the national debt trippled under Reagan? Sure cut taxes and increase spending, especially military spending. Bush did the exact same thing and look at the result…the debt doubled inder Shrub! Our debt woes really took off under Reagan and now he’s held up as the epitome of budgetary sense???

    • Dan az

We call this period, 1982-2007, the twenty-five year boom–the greatest period of wealth creation in the history of the planet. In 1980, the net worth–assets minus liabilities–of all U.S. households and business … was $25 trillion in today’s dollars. By 2007, … net worth was just shy of $57 trillion. Adjusting for inflation, more wealth was created in America in the twenty-five year boom than in the previous two hundred years.
What is so striking about Obamanomics is how it so doggedly pursues the opposite of every one of these planks of Reaganomics. Instead of reducing tax rates, President Obama is committed to raising the top tax rates of virtually every major federal tax. As already enacted into current law, in 2013 the top two income tax rates will rise by nearly 20%, counting as well Obama’s proposed deduction phase-outs.

    • combatvet

What we are supposed to forget are mindless trolls like you who worship that spineless usurper in the White House. How about you move to Cuba, that way you can live where you belong! You are one sick mindless knuckle dragger!

    • JR

I love how it’s always the President blamed for budgets and tax increases and spending. His is the final vote, but its the house and senate that do the damage…and Reagan was the lone conservative at the time…..under a very Democratic Congress…..look and Clinton, started of on a spending spree, but got clobbered mid term and decided to move more to the middle. Bush2 started off with a more balanced congress, but the Dems took over mid-term and then the spending and problems kicked in towards the end of his term. Obama did all he could in his 1st few years knowing it wouldn’t last and now a more conservative voting congress is kicking his butt. He better move to the middle or be prepared to get ousted along with all the Dems that followed him like sheep with their voting….look what happened to the Dems that got slaughtered the last time their seat was being voted for. Personally, I want the Repubs to hold the line for 15 more months….and let the people decide again…do we want the same as what we’ve gotten for 3+ years….or a change? Obama has already made it clear what he wants. (My forecast is a Repub pres, house and senate for 2012 vote….and it doesn’t matter who, just like the last election.) Bush got a 2nd chance, but voters don’t have time or money to not learn from this Obama mistake….”ONE AND DONE.”

    • Jay

denniso:Are we supposed to forget that the national debt trippled under Reagan? Sure cut taxes and increase spending, especially military spending. Bush did the exact same thing and look at the result…the debt doubled inder Shrub! Our debt woes really took off under Reagan and now he’s held up as the epitome of budgetary sense???

Are we supposed to ignore the fact that the national debt quadrupled under Obama, and in less then two years may I add. As well, he embroiled the United States in three additional wars in the middle-east, without congressional approval, and increased military spending to such a degree, as to make Reagan and Bush look like penny-pinchers! Further, he all but destroyed American industry, and like a fool, wonders why we don’t have a robust and booming economy, which could easily pay down, and ultimately eliminate our debt. It is simply idiotic to compare Obama to Reagan, and even Bush, for that matter, as Obama is in a class all by him-self, and is the epitome of uselessness, and incompetence. Unless off course, he is trying to destroy our nation, which clearly appears to be the case, in which case, makes him the consummate destroyer!!!

    • http://naver samurai

First duhniso, Regan and both Bushes may not have been our smartest presidents, but they sure are a lot smarter than the pretender we hvae in office now. You talk about the national debt? Have you had your head buried somewhere moist and stanky for the last 2 years? Remember, Congress is the one that spends and not the president. Second, during the 2 terms under Regan the giving of Americans to charities was the highest ever recorded. A lot higher than during the Great Depression, made worse by another lib FDR. This doesn’t sound like we were bad under Regan. Third, Obama bin Laden has doubled or tripled the debt we had under Bush II in only a 2 year period. I also remember being in the military when Regan gave us pay raises every year. Under Carter, some E6′s and E7′s with families were applying for food stamps. Under pimp Clinton, we only had one and that wasn’t squat. Under Bush II we were given adequate pay raises. Now Obama bin Laden wants to cut the soldier’s paychecks by 10%. This president don’t care about the soldiers that defend this country. If anyone is getting a retirement check from serving in the military, a cut in soldier’s pay means a cut in ours also. Duhniso, just get your facts straight before you post or you can take my grandmother’s advice: “Never pass up a good chance to shut up.” FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

  • Dan az

When President Reagan entered office in 1981, he faced actually much worse economic problems than President Obama faced in 2009. Three worsening recessions starting in 1969 were about to culminate in the worst of all in 1981-1982, with unemployment soaring into double digits at a peak of 10.8%. At the same time America suffered roaring double-digit inflation, with the CPI registering at 11.3% in 1979 and 13.5% in 1980 (25% in two years). The Washington establishment at the time argued that this inflation was now endemic to the American economy, and could not be stopped, at least not without a calamitous economic collapse.

    • Lost in Paradise

I can remember those days clearly and could not wait until it was over. I surely hope Obama will somehow have a fatal accident of somekind.

    • Dr. Mabuse

Your figures are correct Dan, but I must point out that the cause of that financial debacle can be laid directly at the feet of Paul Volcker. The Fed. Reserve engineered those double digit inflation rates (in tandem with hyper inflating the currency).
Now here’s where you and I might part company… before we completely deify The Gipper I must examine the October Surprise and Iran-Contra (I suspect it was more the machinations of Daddy Bush than Ronnie)
To Reagan’s credit (and to me it was the most progressive and salient act of his administration) He sanctioned the Grace Commission. If Congress had of followed this Commission’s recommendations instead of summarily dismissing them, we as a country would be far better off today. If you get a chance, read the Commission’s report. What was applicable then, still holds true today.

  • Dan az

President Reagan campaigned on an explicitly articulated, four-point economic program to reverse this slow motion collapse of the American economy:

    1. Cut tax rates to restore incentives for economic growth, which was implemented first with a reduction in the top income tax rate of 70% down to 50%, and then a 25% across-the-board reduction in income tax rates for everyone. The 1986 tax reform then reduced tax rates further, leaving just two rates, 28% and 15%.

    2. Spending reductions, including a $31 billion cut in spending in 1981, close to 5% of the federal budget then, or the equivalent of about $175 billion in spending cuts for the year today. In constant dollars, nondefense discretionary spending declined by 14.4% from 1981 to 1982, and by 16.8% from 1981 to 1983. Moreover, in constant dollars, this nondefense discretionary spending never returned to its 1981 level for the rest of Reagan’s two terms! Even with the Reagan defense buildup, which won the Cold War without firing a shot, total federal spending declined from a high of 23.5% of GDP in 1983 to 21.3% in 1988 and 21.2% in 1989. That’s a real reduction in the size of government relative to the economy of 10%.

    3. Anti-inflation monetary policy restraining money supply growth compared to demand, to maintain a stronger, more stable dollar value.

    4. Deregulation, which saved consumers an estimated $100 billion per year in lower prices. Reagan’s first executive order, in fact, eliminated price controls on oil and natural gas. Production soared, and aided by a strong dollar the price of oil declined by more than 50%.

These economic policies amounted to the most successful economic experiment in world history. The Reagan recovery started in official records in November 1982, and lasted 92 months without a recession until July 1990, when the tax increases of the 1990 budget deal killed it. This set a new record for the longest peacetime expansion ever, the previous high in peacetime being 58 months.

  • Dan az

During this seven-year recovery, the economy grew by almost one-third, the equivalent of adding the entire economy of West Germany, the third-largest in the world at the time, to the U.S. economy. In 1984 alone real economic growth boomed by 6.8%, the highest in 50 years. Nearly 20 million new jobs were created during the recovery, increasing U.S. civilian employment by almost 20%. Unemployment fell to 5.3% by 1989.
So denny boy why not disprove me?You have nothing nothing at all,so untill you get your head out try reading something else, like the facts.

The other aspect of the ‘boom’ was caused mostly by his extreme increases in military spending…the debt did triple in his 8 yrs, look it up. We had a growing economy based mostly on big spending by his gov’t.

The reporting of “news” by the mainstream media is continually getting more blatant in its promotion of communism, even as it gets more sophisticatedly sulbtle. Even people on “our” side who should know better are having serious discussions about the “necessity” of raising the National Debt Limit. That issue is a fraud, a scare tactic, a strawman, and farce. If the Congress caves in to Juan Peron Obama and passes a debt limit increase, it will be a signal for more aggressive action to be taken in the repression of liberty.

Get the US out of the UN, and get the UN out of the US. Otherwise, all liberty will be lost.

Reduce all federal worker’s pay, benefits and perks by 50% forever.
But, we need good people to run the government they are likely to say.
Well, they haven’t been very good for me. They make twice as much as the private sector, have taxpayer provided vehicles at $1,000.00 per month, are able to retire with full benefits after a paltry five or six years. Cut all the perks completely. They don’t like it, they can resign, quit, whatever they want and go back to private industry for their livelihood. Then, if they still can’t balance the budget, eliminate the deficit and put our house in order, cut it another 50%.
But truly quit lying to us about cutting Social Security. Its our money, not yours.

It WAS your money. It is only a bunch of IOU’s. People need to get real about where the money is or is not! I pay SS tax and it is being spent for big government. Why do you think they have to raise the debt limit? They cannot stop spending (even when the money is gone). The money is gone!

  • DISPENSER

It was under Reagan that I began my turn from an uninformed liberal idiot to a Constitutional conservative libertarian. I started paying attention, and noticed that liberals lied so much more than conservatives. The ends always justified the means, minorities just aren’t capable of taking care of themselves, and of course only the ruling elite can decide what to do with your money, these are the liberal manifesto.

    • 45caliber

      I started under Carter.

  • Lost in Paradise

The one thing that really gripes me about the Republicans at the moment is how they want to save money. As always make the taxpayer suffer, and do without. How about we leave the WORLD to its own misery for a while, and not support THEM. It is really terrible, when the American citizen is really down, they want to take more from us. We seriously need to get rid of all those bums and get some real Americans in office. I am very tired of career politicions, and lawyers.

    • Jeryl

Seriously, just out of curiosity, I wonder how many Republicans voted for the recent Congressional pay raise? That answer might go a long way toward answering just how serious all of them are about lowering the national debt.

      • 45caliber

        Jeryl:

NONE vote FOR a Congressional pay raise. It is tied to an automatic pay raise for Federal judges. They have to take a special vote to vote AGAINST it – which seldom happens and they seldom do. That was changed many years ago when they kept getting flack from voters for raising their own pay.

    • Jeryl

Actually, does anyone know if they even got a pay raise in 2010 or 2011?

      • Southern California

No, they did’nt receive automatic pay raises in 2009 or 2010. Surprisingly, this was done under Nacny Pelosi! Obama signed a bill in My, 2010, so there is no pay increase for Congress in 2011. Estimated savings: $850,000 this year.

    • 45caliber

My biggest complaint about those in Washington (both parties) is that they seem to believe they need to support the rest of the world both militarily and economically. They don’t seem to realize we sent them there to represent US and OUR COUNTRY. If we cut all foreign aid (including those parts not considered aid like the attack on Libya) we could probably balance our budget.

And I include all the Aid we are giving the illegals in the US as part of that foreign aid.

  • Lost in Paradise

Obama is the worst thing to ever happen to this country, and we are in deep doo doo if we cannot get rid of that fool.

  • Jeryl

The truth is: liberals are liars, Barak Obama is a liar, and all of them think that lying is moral as long as it leads to the destruction of the American Republic and an establishment of their socialist state.

    • 45caliber

ALL politicians are liars by trade. And ALL use those lies to “play” their game of politics. I don’t believe that most of them even realize they are causing problems for the voters and tax payers (and certainly don’t care if they do) as long as they can get another political point over their opponents.

  • Patriot

Obama the same policies as Reagan, we might as well compare Obama to George Washington or Thomas Jefferson! For cryin’ out loud do these media outlets or White House propagandists have any shame?

  • Palin12

“I did not leave the democratic party. They left me.”…Ronald Reagan

    • 45caliber

Agreed. Reagon was correct about this. At one time – when I was young – the Democrats controlled the South. Then they discovered they could buy votes from minority groups by giving them tax money and started taking our taxes for that purpose. Now the South is generally GOP instead of Democrat any more. The Dems left me and many more of us. They also left most of the North, but too many people there listen to their union leaders instead of trying to think for themselves and still vote that way.

  • Southern California

Obama keeps trying to reinvent himself, depdending on the way the polls are going: Abraham Lincoln, Harry S. Truman, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Ronald Reagan, to name just a few. Fortunately, MANY AMERICANS see through the smoke and mirrors.
Ronald Reagan LOVED THIS COUNTRY, something that Obama doesn’t understand.

  • Red

No President in the history of this country has thretened the lives of our senior citizens with the loss of Social Security income which they paid for over many decades.

    • 45caliber

The Dems (and many Repubs) no longer consider the SS system as a retirement for the elderly. They consider it government funds wasted on the elderly that they could use to better advantage to buy other votes instead.

  • Charlie

How long is everyone going to keep “belly’achine” to each other…..Why don’t you get together and do something about it for real…words, words, words,….YUK !!

    • Southern California

We are doing something – we are talking to one another, instead of living in a bubble. Elections are next year (2012).

      • pegasis

        Charlie,
I wholeheartedly agree. Screw 2012, start recalls of the “representatives” who don’t represent us (instead of themselves or their sugar daddies), and then impeach the pretender for his treasonable offenses ( there are so many, it’s PITIFUL!).
People, you spout love of the constitution, but it’s either “wait until the next election”, or ” arm yourselves and barracade the doors”.
Start using the laws that were placed in the constitution and the bill of rights, REPLACE employees that are NOT doing the jobs they were hired for. If you had an employee in the civilian sector who didn’t follow the company rules, or sabotaged the company in ANY way, that employee would be gone IMMEDIATELY!

  • 45caliber

When Reagon took office, he was concerned about the DEBT – not solely the deficient. He appointed Grace to head the Grace Commission to determine what could be done to pay off our debt.

And – on paper – they found we didn’t have a debt. We had a deficiet. The “debt” was balanced by over a trillion dollars worth of bonds from other countries owned by our government. (How many of you remember the government forgiving the money Mexico owed us some years ago before they borrowed more?) ON PAPER we had more than enough money loaned to other countries to cover our debt and to cover any further debt for many years – at the same rate.

So Reagon became concerned about the deficiet – and that’s all you heard about after that. He wanted to reduce the deficiet to prevent further borrowing and to balance the budget – but Congress was too concerned about adding all the “give away” programs they could to buy more votes. He was placed in the position of signing their borrowed bills or shutting down the government – and he made the mistake of signing the bills since he “knew” that they were already covered by the bonds we had from other countries.

The Grace Commission became “People Against Government Waste” – which is still around. You might want to read the “Pig Book” they put out each year. While I don’t agree with them in some things – I consider the space program a justified program since it is the ONLY one that has consistantly covered it’s costs with new technology like the EKG’s – I do agree that the government is wasting far more money than they need to.

The real problems we face now is 1) we now owe more than what others owe us and 2) there is no effort by the government to do anything to pay off the debt or to reduce their spending.

And as long as Oblama and the rest of the “progressives” insist on continuing to borrow so they can spend, we will only go deeper into debt.

And the Republicans don’t seem to be helping things by insisting on only smaller cuts that still won’t pay off our debt or stop borrowing.

  • Jack Kinch(1uncle)

Ronald Reagan was no socialist. Socialism has never worked,is not working now obviously and will never work. Socialism breeds deadbeats.

A worker went to his boss asking for a pay cut. He explained that if he weren’t earning so much money, he would be eligible for subsidized housing in a new apartment complex, which included a sauna, pool and tennis court, and the government would also subsidize his dental care and give his son a university scholarship.

His boss agrees, but on one condition: “If your work slips, you’ll get a raise.” And the boss asks if he can use the pool and tennis courts some time. “Certainly, sir”, replied his employee. “I believe that the poor should share with the less fortunate.”
    Quote from Reagan

  • Alex

Mr Crystal— Seriously, “…sole source of information is an entirely discredited propaganda outlet like MSNBC….” Really? Could you please point out HOW they are ENTIRELY discredited? That is a very sweeping statement, something at which you excel.
Look—I know that you Reich Wingers and Fright Wingers absolutely loathe MSNBC. The way I loathe Fox News. As I have stated here many times, I do watch Faux at times—-sort of like sticking a rectal thermometer into our bloated country to see how she feels, to get a handle on where you misguided sheeple are coming from.

Keith Olberman is gone—oh, how I know you hated him! He got on MY nerves, too, by the way—his often leaden attempts at impersonation were embarrassing and, like Sean insHannity, he seemed to grasp tenuous ropes of logic.

Ed Schultz did call Laura Ingrate a “slut”, which, even in a fit of agitation, was below the belt. He apologized anfd was suspended.

I have personally only seen Rachel Maddow make one serious misstatement, and for that she issued a correction as soon as it was pointed out.

Faux Noose, however, made a contribution of ONE MILLION DOLLARS to the Rethuglican Governors posse. How can you possibly think that they will then cover said governors? Yes, I believe there was a story about Olberman’s $2500 contribution to a candidate or group, but that was done as an individual and as an obviously biased pundit—-far different than a news organization which purports to be “Fair and Balanced” giving a million bucks to the GOP.

Please, Mr Crystal, back up your statement, and also admit that Fox News is heavily, but not entirely (do you KNOW what that word m,eans?), discredited.

What are you poor sheeple going to do if it comes out that Fox tapped the phones of our 911 victims as well as those of our dead mercenaries? In light of Rupert Murdoch’s scandalous actions in England this seems more and more likely.

Now he’s gone the light is shown.
        Tax breaks stirred the economy,
        Which then increased tax revenues.
        A legacy set by history,
        Truth of strength by action.
        Partisan bickering set aside,
The world now sees the greatness.

the communist in the democratic party tried their best to hang north and reagan, however, they failed and so did the sandinistas. as far as the iran hostages go, they were released immediately after reagan took office, they knew reagan wasn’t a weak kneed sister like carter. it had nothing to do with the contra war. i watched the hearings every day and north and his attorney sullivan made fools out of the democrat communist. read the book “nicarauga betrayed” if you would like some insight on what really happened in that country, not the liberal democrat propaganda.

chuckb—The Monroe Doctrine simply means that we are the Crips of the Western Hemisphere.

Reagan was a doddering, babbling old fool who didn’t know enough to stay in his B movies and out of politics. Though I can’t argue about the movies he starred in, but he was a lot better president than the one we have now. If you think the economy was bad then, it was worse under Carter and the current president. I see that you don’t really look at the world around you. The first hostages were taken by Iran when the Shah was overthrown and we had American workers/diplomats there who were seized and held by the new wacko revolutionary gov’t. Reagan almost certainly made a deal w/ the very people we were labeling terrorists to hold them until after the election so as not to give Carter an electoral bump by getting them released before. Reagan/North promised to sell Iran missles as pay back for holding the hostages until he could get credit for the release, and not Carter. That was one of the most traitorous things an American could have done, especially one running for president….dealing w/ revolutionary Iran to hold our hostages longer for political gain. Look it up.

You need to google Iran-Contra…that was after the first set of hostages taken by Iran, and was Americans kidnapped in places like Beriut and not held by Iran…they intervened on our behalf w/ the actual kidnappers(terrorists)because Reagan sold Iran modern missiles, and the money from the sales was funneled to the Contras in our bid to overthrow the elected gov’t of Nicaragua.

Before you tell someone that they don’t know what they’re talking about you should make sure that you do…in this case, you don’t.

      • denniso

I forgot to mention…the reason that Iran-Contra was and is a big deal. Congress had pulled the funding for Reagan’s little war in Nicaragua and there was supposed to be no money going there. Reagan had said publicly that we wouldn’t deal w/ the terrorists who kidnapped Americans, and he was secretly dealing w/ them through Iran, who he also called a terorist state. So he was lying to the public while comitting an illegal act in funding the Contras. No big deal to the Reagan loving rightwingers?

Care to cite some sources or do you wish to keep ranting? FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

          • denniso

Sources? It’s history, and that’s the problem w/ most of you…you don’t know any history and chose to forget or deny the history that doesn’t comport w/ your narrow view of the world. I pay attention to real history, and try to remember it. I read real books…if you cared to educate yourself you could,as long as you stick to real history, which you won’t do anyway because all you can do is read or listen to those you already agree with. Pity. Reagan was a lousy leader and screwed up much of the country. He did triple the debt…he also did all the other crap I mentioned, and you could look it up. It’s not my job or is it worth my time to do it for you.

          • http://naver samurai

OK duhniso, what about how giving to charities was the highest ever in our history under Reagan? How about how it took him at least 2 years to clean up the mess Carter left us? How about how we went from 10% unemployment to only 5%? How about how our economy was booming under Reagan? How about how the Congress was the one that tripled the debt and not Reagan? How about how patriotism and pride in country went through the roof under Reagan and has taken big hits under Obama bin Laden? How about our country being more respected by our allies and feared by our enemies? How about how Reagan got Gorbachev to bring down the Berlin Wall and how Obama bin Laden bows and scrapes the floor when greeting diplomats from other countries? How about how Reagan had Congress and the Senate approve any of his military actions before going and Obama bin Laden not doing so? You really need to know real history before you post moron! FOR GOD AND COUNTRY! You need both to be a patriot!

          • denniso

What a nice list of myths…

          • http://naver samurai

Sorry duhniso, but all my posts are fact. Yours? Well, we would know if you would cite some sources and stop with the hate you bring to this site. If you think Obama bin Laden is so good, then make a list of all the good things he has done for this great country. I guarantee the list to be very short, like “0″. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

  • chuckb

alex, you’ve been sleeping with too many goats. get back on your rug ans say a prayer for the moon god.

  • Jefferson Dowda

Alex is on some serious drugs. Someone needs to shoot his dealer, he has really given this guy some sort of delusions or perhaps dyslexia, you know, he see’s everything in reverse or opposite of what it really is. He can speak without hesitation those vile lies about the greatest President of our time and yet Comrade Obama constantly makes statements about his desire to be dictator. He constantly and deliberately violates the Constitution. He has alienated every ally. He bows to foreign leaders that are not our allies. He apologizes for Americas actions prior to his administration. He has and is continuing to destroy the economy by regulating business to a point that they cannot function. He has surrounded himself with so called Zars that are self proclaimed Communist as his personnel advisor’s, the worst of which is Cass Sunstien. He lied to all Americans about the health care bill and forced it through against the will of the majority of Americans. He has spent 4 times the amount of money Bush spent in 8 years and has nothing to show for it except a collapsing economy that he still blames Bush for. He constantly bashes oil companies who pay taxes and have only a 6% profit margin, but says nothing about G E who had a 28% profit margin last year and paid $0 in taxes and the CEO of G E is his jobs Zar, and G E sent 1/3 of their business to China last year and just announced another section moving next month. Comrade Obama doesn’t know if there are 57 or 58 states in America. His attorney general has sold thousands of guns to the Mexican drug cartels, that have slaughtered thousands of Mexican citizens and are now being used against American citizens across our borders that he refuses to protect which he took an oath and swore he would do. All this and I haven’t even scratched the surface of what damage this Communist has done to America, yet you condemn Ronald Reagan based on unproven lies not facts. Everything stated above can be backed up with facts, this idiot should not only be impeached he should be tried for treason and shot.

    • denniso

Just so we are clear about what you’re saying…you say Obama should be impeached, tried and shot? Are you suggesting the murder of our president? Once again, you follow in the steps of other idiots here who have suggested the same thing…I again wonder how Bob Livingston tolerates this,or does he actively approve of it? What a disgusting comment!

      • http://www.boblivingstonletter.com/ Bob Livingston

        Dear denniso,

At least Jefferson Dowda wants to give Obama a trial. That’s much more than some liberals want to afford George W. Bush.

I believe you protest too much. I don’t suspect Jefferson Dowda of plotting harm against the President (which I of course would never condone, and to suggest such a thing is folly).

Relax. Dowda is frustrated, as are many, at what they see as a deteriorating state of our country and the seeming disdain the elected elites hold toward the populace and the Constitution.

And before your panties become too bunched, I find the policies of Bush as disgusting as those of Obama. Neither had/have the best interests of average Americans as their primary aim. Both sought/seek to please their corporate masters and the military/industrial complex.

        Best wishes,
        Bob

        • denniso

Dear Bob Livingston: I don’t wear panties…we’ve been through this before and I still find it interesting that you don’t seem bothered that you have people on your site who suggest Obama be shot. From a legal standpoint, that’s very close to actually saying he wants to shoot the president. That’s a crime,as it should be,in a country that does shoot presidents. You are comfortable w/ a poster being frustated and suggesting killing Obama…how about you as the owner of this site suggesting firmly to wackos like this that they relax and stick to discussing the issues? If I didn’t know better I would have to assume, after all these similar posts, that you welcome this kind of violent talk, especially regarding Obama…No one has ever suggested murdering Bush here that Ive seen…you at least tacitly encourage violent talk directed toward Obama and all liberals.

We can agree that part of America’s problems are the result of the military industrial complex…but another part is the lack of civility, sannity and reasoning in our political culture. You could do better here, even if it would disappoint some of the true crackpots and maybe affect your botton line.

          • libertytrain

            good grief.

          • http://naver samurai

Duhniso, you really need to get off of the lib kool aid. Though the person may be venting their disgust with what is going on in this great country, but I really don’t think they are actually going to attempt such a mission do you? I also remember you moronic libs swearing, ranting, and verbally abusing President Bush, but is that legal or is it classified as hate speech? Need to get your facts straight before you post. You talk about all the violent talk being cast at the libs? I think you need to take a chill pill and look in the mirror the next time you say that nonsense. You are a hatemonger and you fear this country changing back to the ways we were founded. All you lib, gay loving, baby killing marxists do. You are the real wacko job here. Everything that people, counting Bob, post about Obama bin Laden is true and isn’t based on lies, rhetoric, and innuendo, like you lib traitors and cowards always post here. Just shut up and let’s have a debate or get the h*** off of the site and go back to bed. If you can’t take the heat, stay out of the kitchen. 하나님 하고 나라를 위해서! FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

          • denniso

Liberty, don’t tell me you think it’s perfectly fine for the fool to say that Obama should be shot, and then Bob tells ME to relax? Come on! This kind of talk is what leads up to killings, you know that, and I don’t think you approve of that, unlike most of these true nut cases.

          • http://naver samurai

Still looking in the mirror duhniso? I see you havent answered my post. I wonder why? FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

          • denniso

And what exactly is there to respond to in your comment? The only thing I see is that apparently you’re also a bigot, from your comment about gays. I have never sen you make a substantive comment about anything at all…only smears, lies and threats against liberals,Obama.
A true genius and deep thinker…

          • libertytrain

Denniso I have responded as you know in other threads. You come here only to create issues where they didn’t exist. Your answers follow the typical lib left style. Accuse others of all wrongdoing all the time. If they don’t agree with you they are racists, bigots, lunatics, and on and on. You are the perfect example of why I grew weary of the left and left.

          • denniso

I was responding to Sam, the pretend warrior.

And you make such a major mistake in logic that it’s hard to believe. The few leftwing people here try to call the righwingers on their hate, namecalling, vitriol, racism, bigotry and lies…we get viciously attacked for our efforts and when or if we respond slightly in kind, you can’t differentiate between the cause and effect and in your bias attack the few leftwingers. It’s obvious to anyone who cares to really look that the rightwingers dominate this site and hurl lies and hate continually at any who disagree or who dare support Obama.

          • libertytrain

denniso, the odds are good since this is a conservative Libertarian site that there are less of the left here – and so often leftist folks here spout pretty much disdain for the right – and have oftentimes wished death and ill on them, see Alex, the crazy one wishing death on us that don’t agree with his sick mind. Or look at eyes, who continuously posts contrary statements to different people. She makes no sense. Or you, if we don’t agree with your thoughts, we are mindless. You’ve called me mindless a number of times – am humored by your insults to everyone – loved the one where you said you know you are superior to all of us last night.

          • http://naver samurai

You are the pretend warrior and patriot here, duhniso. I’ve served 20 years, what was your problem? Wouldn’t let you in due to your sexual orientation? If you support Obama bin Laden, fine. That’s fine, but you do your share of name calling. You calling people stupid, morons, and saying they know nothing is the same thing, now isn’t it? Remember, this country needs to get back to the ways we were founded, on Christian founding, not the ways of the progressives, libs, and wackos, which covers everyone to the left of center on this site. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY! You need both to be a patriot!

          • denniso

Eyes was one of the most civil people on this site,as you used to be.

Sam,you need to read the separation clause in the constitution, first of all,and then read up on the Founders who wrote it. Many of them had a general belief in god,but were not necessarily Christians. Some were, naturally, because most people in the country were. It doesn’t matter though, because they clearly wanted separation of church/state.
You have a very narow view of good and evil based upon your Christian religion…are you aware that most of Christianity is based on earlier pagan religions? Do you know that virtually all the myths in the bible are also based on much earlier myths? Jesus may have existed or not,but if he was real he was just another man ahead of his time preaching love and peace. I wonder why you don’t spend much of your time here preaching love, peace and goodness like your Jesus supposedly did?

          • http://naver samurai

Ahhhhh such word play to insult others and steal their rights. You must be talking about islam and their false book the koran. You speak just like a zealot of the atheists. They speak with forked tongues and try to use words like science, myth, and pagan to back up their lies. I challenge you to prove what you said is true. What proof and evidence can you provide that shows atheism to be acurate and correct? NO SCIENCE in your answer. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

          • libertytrain

Denniso, one thing I’ve learned about you is that if one doesn’t agree with you for any reason, you consider them uncivil. You are welcome to think of me however you wish, it’s your personal liberty to do so.

  • chuckb

jefferson d, comrade. is right on the monbey, it fits. i agree, if ever a man who sat in the wh needs to be prosecuted, he is the one. send them both to prison, michelle for misuse of funds. obama for treasonous acts, forgery and falsifying documents for a few.

    • denniso

Chuckb…you approve of that pathetic and lying comment? You applaud someone who says Obama should be shot? If your answer is yes,as it appears to be,then you’re farther gone than I thought, and I won’t respond or read any of your posts again.

          • libertytrain

He suggested a trial and then shot if guilty of treason. You are creating an issue where none existed – you are accusing someone of something he didn’t do. Words are the source of much misundertanding and you are twisting the words into something they were not.

          • http://naver samurai

Ahhhhh, such word play to insult others and steal their rights. That is the proper punishment if found guilty of treason. If found guilty that is. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

  • Ronald Johnston

They think we are stupid. The yellow bellied evil thugs are using tactics of the mafia and communists all over the world. They are taking Ronald Reagan, a true American, and trying to convince us that he was one of them.

    • denniso

I don’t know you,but many of your cohorts are stupid and uninformed…take the debt fight for instance. Most of the rightwing has no clue about the issue…they don’t really even know what the debt is or why we have a debt ceiling. Do you?

      • http://naver samurai

Well, if you are so gosh darned smart, then how about you telling us moron? You seem to have a pretty high opinion about yourself. I suggest you wake up from la la land and come back down to reality. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

        • denniso

My opinion of myself goes up everytime someone like you opens your mouth, moron. If you want to rant about the debt and what should be done w/ the debt ceiling, then YOU should learn something about it before you open your big mouth…there is no god that cares about you,ot this country. We are in charge of our own fate, and your mindless imploring of god is only childish and absurd. Give it up and use your own brain.

          • http://naver samurai

First, if you and I had a battle of the minds, I’d have to tie half my brain behind my back to make it a fair fight. Second, this ignorant denying of God just shows your stupidity as we were founded a Christian nation. Third, I know what the debt ceiling is and it is basically a farse. The limit on spending and how far into debt we are allowed to go. Fourth, you are the moron here. I may have my moments, which I don’t deny, but you spew more hate than almost anyone, except robert smith. By the way you talked to Bob, I’m surprised he didn’t ban you from the site. I guess God decided that it isn’t time to punish you yet. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY! You need both to be a patriot!

          • denniso

Do you,w/ all your wisdom, know that most of the national debt is owed to ourselves, not some scary foreign entities? Do you know that the ceiling is entirely arbitrary and has no basis in the constitution? Do you know that only one other first world country even has a debt ceiling, and it is never used there because it is so high it is never an issue? Do you know anything beyond your silly comment,’for god and country’,which is utterly meaningless and at best naive?

          • http://naver samurai

Yes I do know that, duhniso. That’s why it’s called the national debt and not the world/international debt. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

          • denniso

No…the national debt is called by that name because it’s the debt owed by our nation. Most of it is owed domestically and about 28% is owed internationally.

          • http://naver samurai

Yes, I knew this duhniso. But thanks for the info. I’ll bet its more then that by how Obama bin Laden has been borrowing from China. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

  • libertytrain

You Denniso, create an issue where one doesn’t exist by twisting words. Were you defending W on all the lib sites calling for his head? Treason is a legitimate charge in this country. People can still be tried and punished for treason – Should all those leftist people be charged with treason or were they executing their Constitutional rights? I don’t know. Can only you state your opinion and guys like your goofy friend “Alex” who still shouts death to Bush and Cheney – I don’t know. Your panties are in a wad and blood is not getting to your brain when you attempt to create something that isn’t there. He made no threat, he suggested a trial for treason. Go read a book. You make me ill with your endless attempts to twist everything into ugly.

    • denniso

Well, I guess i’ve seen you go from being a fairly reasonable person a yr ago to a blathering extremist who sees nothing wrong w/ someone calling for the president to be shot. And I make you sick??? In the yr and a half I’ve been here I have seldom or never seen a liberal/progressive call for Bush to be shot…sure, many think he and cheny are war criminals for the Iraq war lie and believe they should be held accountable, but not killed.

That’s the fundamental difference between the sides…the vast majority of the left is civil and believes in holding people acocountable w/in the law,and think we can discuss our differences…they don’t suggest killing people who they disagree with and are generally even against the death penalty. It’s also usually rightwingers who assasinate our presidents and leaders, not leftwingers. I’m through w/ you,as you’ve become as ridiculous as most of these raving lunatic Obama haters, who mostly have racism as the foundation of their hate.

      • libertytrain

Your comment is exactly as I would expect out of you. Precisely on cue. ANY disagreement with you and we are lunatics. Typical leftist move.

        • denniso

Of course you can’t respond to the point, that the left does not call for Bush to be shot,as your apparent buddies do…you are also clueless about the fact that violent talk often gets amplified and turns into action…it’s probably partly responsible for the slaughter in Norway since the sick killer spent much time on wacko rightwing sites using the same rhetoric and vitriol that you see here. You are apparently unable to see a connection between words and language and violence.

          • libertytrain

Once again, you prove my point. Attack those that don’t agree with you with words that were never said. Twist and twist – typical left lib move.

          • denniso

Are you that mindless? You are repeating the same thing over and over.Do you remember any leftwingers on this site calling for Bush to be shot?

          • libertytrain

If I had a nickel for every time you called me mindless, I’d be rich — and on and on he goes trying to win his point that we are evil since we don’t agree with him.. I already gave you one of the posters who has regularly suggested same and he’s not on the Right. He’s one of yours and not too impressive.

          • http://naver samurai

Duhniso, you are one sick hate filled puppy! FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

          • denniso

When did you give me a name of a liberal here who has suggested killing Bush? Who is it? And,even if it’s so that’s only one person compared to the many rightwingers who have called for Obama’s death.Again, name the liberal poster who you’re talking about. Again,I don’t claim that Dems/liberals are perfect, but the vast majority shun violence of all kinds,as opposed to most of the rightwing…everyone knows that, which is partly why the left are called ‘bleeding hearts’. The vast majority of the people on here are rightwingers, right? The majority of the posts I see call for some sort of violence…aginst the gov’t,liberals, gays,Obama,Muslims. It’s so obvious as to be ridiculous to even have to state. Bob Livingstons ‘rules’ here call for civility…how civil is it to call for the president’s death?

          • denniso

I see from your post above that you are talking about Alex shouting for the deaths of Bush/Cheny…I haven’t seen that so can’t comment on it. If he has, then he shouldn’t. They should have been charged w/ treason or war crimes and tried in court. A jail term of 10 yrs would be fine w/ me.

          • libertytrain

Ok, you just said the same thing you got your undies in a wad for – the other fellow also said tried for treason. But of course you said it so it’s different. I get it. Of course, I got that before.

          • http://naver samurai

Give it up duhniso! You can’t win against a group of God fearing patriots and you never will. All you did was twist the words around and hope that we wouldn’t catch on. Well, you messed up again. I’ve never shouted for violence against any of those groups, which you cannot prove, but I have stated that we should change the way government does things, sharia law, queers and their “special rights”, and many other things. Just take you unpatriotic backside and go back into your mother’s basement. If my words give you a wedgey, good. I hope they do. You are a ranter, raver, and full of nothing but hate towards anything Christian and our Christian founding. You are a disgrace to this country. You didn’t even have the nads to serve. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY! You need both to be a patriot!

          • denniso

OK,I give up! There is a huge difference between calling someone’s action or policy treason, and calling for that person to be shot for the ‘crime’. If you really can’t understand the distinction then you’re hopeless,as Sam already is. Cheny/Bush did things that people call illegal or treasonous…people can call Obama a traitor if they want(though I don’t know what the supposed rational is)…but to call for any president to be shot for supposed treason is dangerous and stupid.

            Do you understand?

          • http://naver samurai

If he is brought to court and if he is found guilty, then the firing squad is an appropriate punishment. No, I don’t mean someone walking up to him and doing it, but only if it is ordered by a judge after a trial and sentencing. Do you understand? FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

          • libertytrain

Near as I can tell is that you can’t admit that you are deliberately twisting words to disrupt this site. A punishment for treason, after a TRIAL for TREASON is Execution. Now, if you have a problem with someone calling for the death sentence re treason take it up with your congressman or senator to eliminate the death sentence from the punishments for treason.

          • denniso

Twisting words? Disrupt the site? We don’t shoot people for treason in the first place,we give life sentences. Calling for the ‘execution’ of any president is very near to being a death threat on his life. You guys hate Obama so much that you are looking for any cover to allow you to say or support people saying he should be shot.

Again, that’s the difference between the right and left…we believe in holding people accountable by locking them away if crimes are committed, you and most of the rightwing want to shoot or ‘execute’ them. Go ahead and hide behind your shallow rational for agreeing w/ the dimwits in essentially threatening our president’s life. You can pretend that you don’t see how twisted and absurd that ‘thinking’ is,but it’s utterly obvious to some of us who are not blinded by rigid ideology.

I give up on both of you…no hasta luego.

          • libertytrain

you need to do some research to show me where it says the US doesn’t have execution for treason – and I agree you do have a problem with those that don’t agree with you so you are inclined to resort to these attempts at insults each and every time.

          • http://naver sook young

Excuse me denniso, but I know for a fact that we shoot people for treason during war time. You really should try to read more. Thank you.

            Sook Young
            Wife of the Samurai

P.S. My husband is right. If you did cite some sources and some true facts, your postings would be more believeable and less likely to receive harsh criticism.

          • denniso

When would you say the last time was that we shot someone for treason?
And,that’s not the point anyway. The fool of a poster said Obama should be ‘tried for treason and shot’. The implicit assumption is that he’s guilty of treason,w/o a trial,so he should just be shot. This kind of talk is utter nonsense and hardly helpful to the country…do you think it makes the supporters of Obama feel good about the rightwing idiots who spout such stupidity? Is that kind of juvenile talk going to help bring people together, and are we going to accept the next Repub president? No…this is how countries fall apart, and the rightwing smear and lie campaign against Obama that began even before he was sworn in is hardly going to win any friends. We sat by and waited until Cheny/Bush were gone…we didn’t try to shoot them,we let their terms run out and then w/ most of the country despising them and their supporters we got a Dem in. You people won’t accept that you lose some elections and so you go berserk when a Dem is elected prez…same thing happened when Clinton was elected. You,or at least most of the rightwing, don’t want to accept that we have a democratic republic, not a dictatorship by the right.

          • http://naver sook young

I really feel sorry for you. You are so full of hate for things that are opposite of your beliefs or things you don’t understand. It is true that we have people shot for treason during war, but they must be found guilty by a jury of their peers first. You know this to be true. If the other person said to shoot the president, I think (I agree with Bob) that the person was just angry and people tend to do things when they are angry. Couldn’t it be the same way you are venting your anger now? Why do you have so many anger issues? I will tell you that I don’t think the person will try to shoot him. Hinckley shot President Reagan, but some judge said he was mentally unfit to stand trial and this took the out death penalty as a punishment. People tried to do the same thing to Clinton. Remember the drunken man stopped outside the White House and shot because he was too drunk to drop his knife? How about the man that flew his aircraft at the White House and crashed near the building, hoping to blow up and kill him? I see you have forgotten about those. How about how Carter made a report about being attacked by some rabbit? Should the rabbit be killed for that? Sorry, I was disappointed when McCain and Palin lost. I never went berserk because of it. I just figured to try better next time I vote. We are a republic, that is so true. We are not a dictatorship, but Obama has to be the one closest to being one. Reagan had no czars, Obama has many. Reagan had no “youth corps” with teenagers pretending to be soldiers. There were no U.N. troops in America under Reagan, there are many under Obama (Though I think they may have started coming under Clinton). This is a violation of the Monroe Doctrine. Denniso, if you really care about this country (I think you do), then please stop with the hate posting and show everyone what you really know. I have no sources at the moment, but I’ll post some if you ask me. Can you do the same? I’ll be waiting for your answers to my questions. Thank you.

Awwww Sook Young. You say: “You are so full of hate for things that are opposite of your beliefs or things you don’t understand. It is true that we have people shot for treason during war, but they must be found guilty by a jury of their peers first.”

I’m sure Dr. Gunn, Dr. Tiller, and several others who were executed by right wing nuts with the support expressed by right wing folks on this forum need to hear your plea for due process.

Sook Young says: ” How about the man that flew his aircraft at the White House and crashed near the building, hoping to blow up and kill him?”

What about him? I happen to know a lot about this one but I’ll cite an article from the Washington Post By Ruben Castaneda and Pierre Thomas of the Washington Post, Volume 114 >> Issue 40 : Tuesday, September 13, 1994. http://tech.mit.edu/V114/N40/crash.40w.html

“Frank Eugene Corder, 38, a student pilot with a history of alcohol and drug abuse, stole the single-engine Cessna from an airfield north of Baltimore and died in the crash, officials said. Initial interviews with associates of Corder suggest the crash was intentional, federal officials said, but they said they did not believe it was politically motivated.”

BTW, it was 1994 when Clinton was in office. Had it been ruled political it would have been another attack from the extreme right.

Sook, I don’t think you have to worry about any anger w/in me regarding people who suggest Obama be shot. I feel totally free to call someone who suggests that any president should be ‘tried and shot’, an idiot, because that’s what she/he is…as well as a fool who is detrimental to the very country she/he pretends to love and want to defend. You talk about my anger toward those people who threaten violence, but why don’t you address the extreme anger/hostility in them that is driving them to make violent comments?

Sources? We don’t need any sources to know that many extreme rightwingers have been using violent talk/threats against Obama for his entire time in office. Is the sky blue?
