Life Comes Last

January 29, 2013 by

Life Comes Last
UPI
The annual March for Life rally took place Saturday.

If half a million people march for life on Washington, D.C., and the media pretend not to hear them, did they still make a statement in defense of the unborn? Ask the corporate media flacks and their Democratic overlords, and I’m quite sure they’d respond: “Did you hear about the college football player and his fake girlfriend?”

A half million citizens did shake down the thunder in our Nation’s Capitol this past weekend; and the media did ignore their roar, opting instead for incisive coverage of a linebacker’s love life. In fact, the March for Life — which managed to draw a crowd more than five times the size of a sold-out Notre Dame home game without any of the criminal hijinks or mountains of litter of a liberal get-together — fell behind not only Manti Te’o’s heartbreak on the information superhighway but also behind a comparatively meager get-together of anti-2nd Amendment activists.

Now, pointing out that the corporate media list badly to port is as groundbreaking an observation as noting Bill Clinton likes chunky gals. But there’s a difference between allowing your biases to bend your coverage and letting them delete it entirely. Liberals will stop traffic to preserve access, especially taxpayer-subsidized access, to abortion; ask anyone who has ever witnessed those creepy vagina costumes.

Half a million Americans stood together and stood up to be heard on behalf of the voiceless. Their collective shout dwarfed even the racket made by U.S. Department of Justice lawyers booing Representative Paul Ryan on Inauguration Day. Their force of will radiated more powerfully than a diva lip-syncing “The Star-Spangled Banner.” Yet the people charged with informing Americans of important goings-on paid more attention to a few dozen people wailing plaintively against something called “assault weapons” and something else they refer to as “gun violence.” Moreover, they updated us on Te’o’s sad tale — again. I’m sure they aren’t keeping that sideshow on life support just to keep from noticing the crowd as large as a medium-sized city down the street, demanding protection for the innocent.

To be fair, some corporate media types did take note of the March for Life. One of the bit players for the Democrat Channel (MSNBC) managed to work in some material about the march. A fellow who calls himself “Touré’” (like Prince, except that Touré is “The Artist Formerly Known As No One Special”), in discussing the march, crowed: “I thank God and country that when I fell into a bad situation, abortion was there to save me.” I suspect God doesn’t want the credit for that, buddy. Indeed, I suspect God doesn’t want credit for you, either. You could have tried stepping up as a man and taking responsibility for your behavior. For that matter, you could have avoided the whole mess by behaving responsibly from the moment you realized she was unconscious. (I’m guessing at that last part.) Call it a hunch. No matter; at least Touré’s pro-abortion parable stems from his own lack of compunction.

I prefer that to the usual liberal efforts to present the extermination of the most innocent among us as a minor elective procedure. Senator Barbara Boxer (Butcher-Calif.) calls abortion a “health decision.” The circumstances in which pregnancy presents an actual threat to the mother’s life are exceedingly rare. The rest of the time, the “women’s health issue” is just a matter of convenience. Democrats like to frighten their masses with claims of some conservative “war on women.” Of course, anyone fighting to protect defenseless babies must be consumed with misogyny. And pro-life women are beyond the pale; just ask Sarah Palin.

There were other Democrats paying attention to the March for Life. The Twitterverse ran hot with their rage:

I’ll bet other pro-abortionists would excuse their threats as support for really, really late-term abortion.

In recent days, the scientific world has been riveted by the likelihood that life may have — and may yet — exist on Mars. Though that life is probably merely microbial in nature, astronomers are as excited by the possibility as Touré is by a “drunken lingerie lock-in” at a sorority house. Yet the media have focused far more attention on Martian bacteria than human children — and on Te’o’s fake girlfriend, of course.

Gotta love conservatives… Don’t want to deal with the issues that cause women to seek abortion in the first place, will kill others to “protect” the unborn and when the kid is born… they are on their own.

    That is the conservative way.

    • http://TheMiracleofSelfPower Iris D. Lynch

The IMPORTANT part of these sexual exercises are the fact that women are all considered unpaid prostitutes who must provide for the entertainment of all men at any time and in order to keep THAT going, THEY must be provided with an easy exit from the results. These activities are all designed to keep the idiots entertained while the water continues to the boiling point. My, won’t they be surprised when they are all in the gulags being designed for them as we speak? TOTAL LOSS OF SELF POWER.

When our esteemed VP says to a woman he doesn’t know (in jest?) “spread your legs”, you have to know how bad it really is.

      • Dave67

yes Iris, If men could get pregnant, the Abortion Clinics would be all over the place like Viagra pills that are covered by insurance (yet contraception for women were not until Obamacare) because obviously we men know whats good for women than women do.

If only women wouldn’t get so uppidy and know their places like the conservatives really wish for. Everything would be just dandy.

      • rendarsmith

Dave, get it through your skull, VIAGRA IS NOT BIRTH CONTROL! Condems are the equivalent and men pay for their own (WAR ON MEN!)

        Typical brainless liberal…

        ad hominem attack removed

      • rendarsmith

Well you libs do the same. How do you like it?

      • Dave67

        no rendards,

I don’t automatically go after anyone unless they say something really stupid or you insult me first. I prefer to have a reasoned debate. But thats not you is it?

      • rendarsmith

You say killing others is the conservative way (though you support abortion). That’s an attack on conservatives. YOU started that. Now own up to it. You know how to do that right? Come on, you can do it.

      • Dave67

Nope, that what you twisted my words into… you like most conservatives excel at that. Oh… and not understanding context… you don’t get that either.

      • 45caliber

        Iris:

I think many of the problems stem from some rich politician (like Teddy Kennedy) (women as well as men) wanting to have unlimited and free sex with as many people as possible without having to pay for it. They teach the girls in school that sex is important and should be engaged in as often as possible with men of all ages (particularly their age) and if the girl gets pregnant, to get a a “free” abortion so they don’t have to pay the girl child support.

      • sam1966

Here we are with the libturds and progturds of the 5th column sounding like Sandra Fluke about someone has to pay for their BCPs. If you want them, be self reliant and personally responsible, buy them yourselves. I will not pay for someones obviously ungodly lifestyle. It is not the way our Christian nation was set up to operate. Here is what the 5th column is about with their pro-infanticide movement:

        http://www.lifenews.com/2013/01/29/activists-destroy-pro-life-,memorial-to-remember-unborn-babies/

Let’s seek to overturn Roe vs. Wade. Stop the unnecessary killing of babies. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY! 하나님하고 나라를 위해서!

You need both love of country and faith in God to be a patriot. This leaves Dave67, Jeff, Galt, and many others out of the picture.

What are we supposed to do Dave? Super-glue her legs shut?

      • Dave67

        Rendars,

You are a perfect illustration of the problem with conservative males and I bet you do not possess the capacity to understand why.

      • rendarsmith

        Before 6th grade yes.

      • sam1966

Wrong, wrong, wrong Dave67. Show me anywhere in our founding documents that says you can have sex with anyone you want. I guarantee it isn’t there. Since foricators will not inherit the Kingdom of Heaven, this being the beliefs also of our Christian founding fathers, and also getting you up to 6 months in prison via a courts martial (Adultery being 12 months), how is it OK? You and yours are what is wrong with this country. You show me anywhere is it mentioned in our founding documents about abortion and sexual immorality. It isn’t there, so stop lying and get back into church, along with classes on our Christian founders. Here is something interesting about the subject:

        http://www.lifenews.com/2013/01/29/leaning-forward-but-knocked-back-pro-lifer-rocks-msnbc-interview/

Why would MSNBC show 1000 nut cases that are snti-2nd Amendment, but not show more than 500,000 that marched to oppose Roe vs. Wade? Not the ways of God, nor the ways of our Christian founding fathers. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY! 하나님하고 나라를 위해서!

You need both love of country and faith in God to be a patriot. This leaves the 5th columners on this site out of the picture.

120 Americans die each day because of no health insurance. What is the pro-life movement doing to help prevent this loss of life? Nothing! We have countless daily gun deaths in our country. What is the pro-life movement doing to help prevent this loss of life? Nothing.

      • TheTruthHurts

Are you really that dense? Because a group of people want another group of people to take responsibility for their actions, you demonize them for the problems of society? What have libs done besides steal from the hard working people & redistribute it to the poor “because they can live with less than they have now”? Who decides how much you should make, how much you should consume, how much you should give? Charity is better than theft, reason better than emotion…

      • TheTruthHurts

Oh, and read a book. Most gun violence (gang related) is localized to poor, black neghborhoods in mostly Democratic controlled states/cities…

      • sam1966

120 people a day die from no insurance? That’s nothing. How about those that die with adequate coverage? How about the 5000 babies that are aborted everyday? Aren’t they just or maybe more important, hmmm? Leave it to some 5th columner to change the subject, especially when they have no facts, sources, and are being swept off the battlefied by patriots. Here is something from NARAL comparing abortion to chewing gum. What ignorant fools they are.

Dave, I think you should check your data. I believe many more abotions are for convienence rathen than for health reasons. I think maybe the solution you are looking for would probably be to not get pregnant in the first place. Maybe morals and self control may even have an effect. Or, is that too easy of a solution for a liberal, progressive mind.

    • carrobin

Funny how “conservatives” throw fits when they think “government” wants to prevent their access to shoot-em-up toys, but when it comes to women, they want the government to prevent them from controlling their own bodies.

      • Don 2

Shoot-em-up-toys…..really? I suppose you think being a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself? Why don’t you put a sign in front of your residence stating, “I am unarmed and do not believe in owning a firearm?”

A liberal is a conservative who hasn’t been raped or mugged yet.

      • sam1966

Same old stupid 5th column libturd/progturd arguement, eh carrobin? A woman is supposed to be a virgin on her wedding day, not knowing another man but her husband. Controling their bodies? Ha, ha, ha, ha! A woman has a choice of sex, yes or no. If she decides yes, then she has another choice, protection yes or no. If she doesn’t use protection, then it is her choice, her child, her responsibility. No exceptions, no excuses, no straying from the straigh and narrow path. Here is something from a woman on the frontlines fighting the good fight to save babies:

        http://www.lifenews.com/2013/01/29/pro-life-woman-my-generation-knows-abortion-doesnt-liberate-women/

Killing your unborn baby is not controlling your body. Keeping your legs together and your panties on would be control. Not getting aroused and laying down would be controlling your body. Abortion to save you the hassle of raising and loving the baby you created is murder not a form of control of your own body.

      • Dave67

Sam and other dumazzes like him if you notice only use “she” in the bs arguement. Where does “he” fit into the equation?

But like I said “Sam”, you are not an American, everyone can see that so go stir up trouble in N Korea where you belong.

What is the cause of the women needing an abortion?Imoral lifestyle,

      • Dave67

        hmmm… according to whom? You?

Are you the moral authority now? Should we take the bible literally and make that the law of the land and throw away the US Constitution?

I am sure many here would love that. They are eager to get back to owning slaves again and have that be ok like the bible says right?

      • sam1966

You lie too much Dave. The Bible does not approve of slavery, but tells how they are to be treated. The ones who argue this way, like you, would be the Southern Plantation owner. BTW, I’ll bet you ancestors are from the South and they owned slaves. Use the Bible instead of the Constitution? Good idea, but where do you think our Christian founding fathers got their ideas for the Constitution from? Our 3 branches of government was an idea that James Madison got from reading Isaiah 33:22. Need to study more. Here is something dealing with the violation of a pro-life groups God given rights under the 1st Amendment:

I would respond to you but I don’t understand your language and it is clear you have no idea what communism is.

Why don’t you anti-choicers put some energy into solving the issues around why women seek abortions in the first place? Does it hurt your head too much?

      • sam1966

Just excuse Dave there Ben. He acts like his mom wanted an abortion, but only found this out when he turned 18. So now he has it in for all moral, ethical, and good Christian women. Here is something showing these 5th columners throwing a party and celebrating the demise of 56 million murdered babies.

If women would stop trying to party, get drunk, and live an ungodly life, then there would be no need for most abortions. I would understand for the life of the mother (like a tubal pregnancy), but that is it. There is no such thing as having your cake and eating it too. Here is a letter from a 7 year old to Obama bin Laden. If a 7 year old gets the gist of the situation, why can’t you 5th columners? I guess the 5th column is into infanticide and eugenics.

Dave67, you’ll have to go a long way to ever show that Watergate undermined our whole political system. On the contrary, its results showed that the system WORKS.

Unlike the true undermining of the Constitution by failing to convict a Clinton for perjury, a federal crime.

Bill Johnson is correct. NOTHING that Nixon did even approaches the criminal acts of this administration.

Clinton? Lest you forget… Clinton was investigated for what again?

        Whitewater…

The GOP had nothing so they misused the IC and our tax dollars and went after his personal life where they tricked Clinton into lying about a sexual affair. Can anyone tell me where in the constitition does lying about a sexual affair rises to high crimes in misdemeanors to warrant impeachment?

I am no fan of Bill Clinton but jeez you conservatives do get desparate…

        • http://www.boblivingstonletter.com/ Bob Livingston

          Dear Dave67,

You write: “The GOP had nothing so they misused the IC and our tax dollars and went after his personal life where they tricked Clinton into lying about a sexual affair. Can anyone tell me where in the constitition does lying about a sexual affair rises to high crimes in misdemeanors to warrant impeachment?” He was impeached for perjury in the case of Jones v. Clinton, a lawsuit filed by one of the many women Clinton sexually harassed and/or abused. Perjury is much different from simply lying. If he was “tricked” then he wasn’t nearly as smart as one would need to be to be chosen a Rhodes Scholar.

          Best wishes,
          Bob

      • Dave67

        Bob,

Quit making excuse for Ann Coulter and her ilk. the only reason why the IC went to Clinton’s sex life is because the GOP had nothing on him on WHITEWATER which was the purpose of the investigation. You know as well as I do, Ann Coulter used Jones here. The IC was allowed to engage in perpetual investigation until the end of Clinton’s final term for the purposes of winning the WH for the GOP and then we got inflicted with the worst president in our lifetime…

        George W Bush

Now if you can find me a perfect person that has power or has fame, please let me know who that is… Rhodes Scholar or not, that level on intellect does not trump the power of the penis or the ego. Humans are imperfect beings… Except for conservatives and liberatrians of course. :-)

One day, I hope to rise above the left/right, conservative/liberal paradigm as “ultra conservative” Bob Livingston has managed. That is you on the decription of your website right? “ultra conservative”? But I am just not there yet.

        • http://www.boblivingstonletter.com/ Bob Livingston

          Dear Dave67,

You write: “Quit making excuse for Ann Coulter and her ilk. the only reason why the IC went to Clinton’s sex life is because the GOP had nothing on him on WHITEWATER which was the purpose of the investigation.” I would suggest you quit making excuses for a serial sexual abuser/harasser. Paula Broderick, Kathleen Wiley, Paula Jones, Monica Lewinsky, Gennifer Flowers, et al. http://www.alamo-girl.com/0262.htm

You write: “The IC was allowed to engage in perpetual investigation until the end of Clinton’s final term…” The independent counsel is a flawed process.

You write: “…then we got inflicted with the worst president in our lifetime… George W Bush.” I’m not sure he was/is THE worst, but he holds a place of honor on the list.

You write: “One day, I hope to rise above the left/right, conservative/liberal paradigm as “ultra conservative” Bob Livingston has managed. That is you on the decription of your website right? “ultra conservative”? That would be good.

          Best wishes,
          Bob

      • Dave67

So Bob, the investigation into Clinton’s sex life was because Ann Coulter and the GOP cares about the law and doing the “right” thing with no interest using that politically against Clinton?

Is that what you are trying to say? Seriously?

The IC was a flawed process when the GOP used it in the 1990s that much is true. The IC was not meant for political witchhunts and that is exactly what the GOP did as soon as the investigation left Whitewater.

        • http://www.boblivingstonletter.com/ Bob Livingston

          Dear Dave67,

You write: “So Bob, the investigation into Clinton’s sex life was because Ann Coulter and the GOP cares about the law and doing the “right” thing with no interest using that politically against Clinton? Is that what you are trying to say? Seriously?” I did not say this.

          Best wishes,

        Bob,

“I would suggest you quit making excuses for a serial sexual abuser/harasser. Paula Broderick, Kathleen Wiley, Paula Jones, Monica Lewinsky, Gennifer Flowers, et al. http://www.alamo-girl.com/0262.htm

That is exactly what you are inferring… You are ignoring the fact that the IC had nothing on Clinton about Whitewater and they moved the investiagtion to Clinton’s sex life with the help of GOP operatives. You infer that is under the BS guise of being a do-gooder and caring about these women. You know this was 100% political and you know also why it was done. I wonder if the shoe was on the other foot an a conservative had this done to them would you be so obtuse about it?

How many great president’s would we not have had if we held people to this “standard” that you are supposedly supporting?

You write: “You are ignoring the fact that the IC had nothing on Clinton about Whitewater and they moved the investiagtion to Clinton’s sex life with the help of GOP operatives.” I have ignored nothing.

You write: “How many great president’s would we not have had if we held people to this “standard” that you are supposedly supporting?” I don’t know. You tell me how many Presidents we’ve had who are serial sexual abuser/harassers. It’s astonishing to me that you support and/or excuse the abuse of women.

          Best wishes,

Going against the Constitution Dave67 ways to sound and comment like a commie is okay with you, your dictator-in-chief has done that many times and your a happy little cool-aid drinker spreading your lies and distorting history, that is what commies do and you prove it every time you comment.

      • Dave67

        Bob,

Please do not play games… Why did none of these women come out before like say… BEFORE the jerk became president? These women were tools of conservatives, nothing more.

If we had the 24/7 corp media looking into every president we could find out alot.

But here are a few… Thomas Jefferson… You know that abuser of women right? You may know him as one of our founding fathers. Using his position as a slave owner to impregnate that poor slave.

George Washington, that power mad President also was accused of fathering an illegitimate child with one of his slaves. Are you going to badmouth Washington now?

Then you have Garfield, Roosevelt, Kennedy and Johnson that all of been alleged to have engaged in monkey business.

So don’t get all sanctimonious on me now.

People who achieve power are rarely of pure moral stock. That does not deminish what good things they have done in other areas.

        • http://www.boblivingstonletter.com/ Bob Livingston

          Dear Dave67,

You write: “Why did none of these women come out before like say… BEFORE the jerk became president? These women were tools of conservatives, nothing more.” Some did. Some were only assaulted after he became president. His sexual proclivities were well known. During the campaign I spoke with a reporter formerly with the Arkansas Gazette who relayed to me a story of then Attorney General Bill Clinton and his affair with an editor of that paper. This would have been in 1990 or 1991, as the primary was just getting underway. It was common knowledge that he was a philanderer and was subject to the occasional “bimbo eruption”, and because he was so loved by much of the Arkansas press, his sexual hijinks went unreported.

You write: “But here are a few… Thomas Jefferson… You know that abuser of women right?” Perhaps true, but perhaps not. http://www.monticello.org/site/plantation-and-slavery/thomas-jefferson-and-sally-hemings-brief-account

You write: “George Washington, that power mad President also was accused of fathering an illegitimate child with one of his slaves.” Power mad? The man who refused to be coronated as king and stepped down after two terms? You are jesting? Alleged, but no proof.

You write: “Garfield, Roosevelt, Kennedy and Johnson that all of been alleged to have engaged in monkey business.” And your point is?

You may recall, Clinton was accused of rape and sexual assault. He is also a convicted perjurer. I remain astonished that you are so dismissive of Clinton’s abuse of women. Is it because you believe rape and sexual assault are ok if committed by a President you endorse? Is it just Democrats who can rape and sexually abuse women? Is it politicians in general? Where do you draw the line on sexual abuse?

          Best wishes,
          Bob

      • Dave67

        Bob,

Is accusation the same as convicted in your world? Nothing I have ever read shows Clinton raped anybody. Lewinsky sure had a swell time.

Clinton lied about what? Having an extra-martial affair. You would do the exact same thing if you were dumb enough to engage in an extra-martial affair.

BTW, Clinton was scum, I knew he was scum which is why I never voted for him. I voted for Perot. Clinton and reagan screwed this country royally, I support neither.

So come down off your moral high horse.

        Thanks!

You write: “So come down off your moral high horse.” ad hominem.

Are you avoiding my question regarding where is the line drawn at sexual abuse?

He lied about sex which was never what the IC was supposed to investigate in the first place. The abuse of the IC underminded our system of Gov and cost the tax payers 100M dollars and we know how much you hate gov spending now don’t we?

I do not approve of any extra-martial affair but you are a hypocrite when you hold people you don”t agree with to a different standard than the founders and earlier leaders of this country that were accused and proven to have done much the same.

Evidence is there for when you chose to see it.

You write: “He lied about sex which was never what the IC was supposed to investigate in the first place.” Irrelevant. He perjured himself before a grand jury.

Clinton perjured himself by lying about sex which was never part of the purpose of the IC which was corrupted by the GOP. You can try and snake your way out of it but thems are the facts.

        But please, keep trying…

Care to cite a source showing our Christian founding fathers were just like Bill “I did not have sex with that woman” Clinton, hmmm? Now it is true that Benjamin Franklin was a womanizer, but the rest respected women. Next, there is no DNA or any other evidence that shows Jefferson had any children by Sally Hemmings. Nor is there any about our founders that owned slaves having children with them. Your ways are the ways of our Christian founding fathers? Ha, ha, ha, ha! You provide proof of that. I don’t think they would approve of the gays, open sexual relationshipd, bi’s, etc, but only of a man and woman that are married. They wouldn’t like your beliefs, as we both know that Jefferson spoke out against atheists. Here is something showing how you 5th columners put some college football player’s girlfriend as higher priority than murdered babies:

What has happen to our morals? People think that they can do what they want and there should not be any consequences. People think murder is wrong unless it has to do with abortion and killing babies, Just beware judgment is coming and that cannot be changed and there will be consequences. People wake up before it is too late!

    • eddie47d

Its agreed there is way too much coverage on football player Teo and his real friend faking himself as the girlfriend . That’s a sick joke that should have been left to the tabloids and just another story of athletes fawning over themselves for an extra moment of fame. Did the Mainstream Media cover the anti-abortion rally in Washington? They sure did so what’s the beef? We had a anti-gun rally in Denver yesterday and last Saturday and some stations covered it and some didn’t. Not everyone gets the attention they want!

There are a myriad of demonstrations that are not covered – more’s the pity. How about last year’s worldwide demonstrations against Monsanto? Never saw a thing. Bitch and moan and complain all you want, but There – Is – Nothing – We – Can – Do – About – It! I ‘ve tried, along with 1000s of people to get coverage for a dog shooting by a cop in Charlotte – just a small story – but of course they won’t cover it. It was a pit bull, after all. i feel sorry for people in the MSM. They cannot report on a lot of important news because of what their owners want or do not want. However, hopefully, as more and more people become more aware, they will eventually have to cover more events that they are told not to.

Let’s be clear on one thing here. A fetus is not a baby. It is a human wannabe. Anyone who claims a fetus should have the same rights as a living, breathing, thinking human being is stretching religious beliefs to the breaking point.

Religion is religion and we have as much of a right to freedom from religion as you have a right to practice your religion. But this is a secular society and only a tiny extremist percentage believe that abortion is murder. The larger majority of Americans believe a woman has a right to determine whether to keep a fetus or not. Frankly, this is no one’s decision, but the woman’s. Gov’t, and the busy-body religious whackos, should have zero say here.

    • Corkey

David, Google and read Dr. Ron Paul’s experience as a witness to an actual abortion. You have no idea what you are talking about unless you can communicate the same experience. It doesn’t matter if most people don’t think its murder, thats irrelevant. And it has nothing to do with religion and extremism. Murder is murder.

      • Dave67

        Corkey,

Should two cells be given a SSN?

Should a pregnant woman be given HOV access in her car?

I just want to know how are willing to take it.

Lets get rid of all abortion right now. Lets mandate that all men in this country get vascectomies until they are ready to have a family.

What is wrong with that Corkey? Could it be that you and the rest of the male population might have something called “responsibility” here?

Your religion and their views is yours… Don’t make them mine.

        Thank you very much.

It is amusing the right wingers and conservatives hate the gov except when it prosecutes their wishes. Its quite hilarious.

    • Framingham47

David,Let’s be clear on one thing here:infant (from the Latin word infans, meaning “unable to speak” or “speechless”) is the very young offspring of a human or other mammal.People who wish to deny this fact and classify the not yet born merely as a fetus are employing the same way of thinking that our fathers did when they called Germans Krouts,or when my generation called the North Vietnamese Charley, just makes it easier to kill them.

Well said David. It couldn’t be spoken any clearer but they will never accept this a truth for it’s not their truth and it’s not enough for them to just be their truth ~ they insist that it be everybody’s truth.

They are attempting to use the Federal government that they hate so much for it’s overreach, it’s size, it’s cost, it’s innate inability to lead, to serve all American ~ to interfere with matters of family, church and reproduction purely from the woman’s side under the guise of “Pro Life”.

You’re right, abortion is tyranny by the majority! But neither morality nor ethics are properly subject to majority vote. Also please note the United States is not a democracy, it is a Constitutional Republic! Nowhere in the Constitution is there an article condoning abortion on demand. Roe vs Wade is clearly ultra vires and unconstitutional ! In fact, it may even be treasonous. The Constitution does condemn treason!

      • deerinwater

If your have certain moralities that are not shared , why insist that they should be?

If your moralities ARE shared while the way you attempt to instill them are not, why insist that everyone bow to your will thou not a majority and clearly unpopular by encroachment of government on personal liberties and the dominion of the Church?

Wrong Deer Drinking Yellow Water, the majority of people in this Christian founded nation are Christians. David, just wondering, if the woman carrying the “fetus” makes the “choice” not to kill it, does it become a baby then?? Or just when, in your omniscient opinion, does the “fetus” or “glob of cells” become human?? Not until it sucks its first breath of air outside the womb? It seems that you leftwing fruities believe that if a baby is planned for, hoped for, prayed for (well, of course you leftwingers would never PRAY, would you?!?!?) that a couple will get pregnant with a baby. But if the pregnancy is a result of a careless man and woman having a promiscuous fling, then there is only a glob of cells or a “fetus” to get rid of. You are so against putting death row inmates who have wreaked havoc on many people, have murdered, pillaged, raped, etc., you cry about their ultimate sentence of execution. “It’s cruel and unusual”, you whine. Here, maybe this will make it all better: just think of it as retroactive abortion!! Or as Ben says, really late, late term abortion. Now, don’t you feel better?!?!?

    • TML

David says “A fetus is not a baby. It is a human wannabe. Anyone who claims a fetus should have the same rights as a living, breathing, thinking human being is stretching religious beliefs to the breaking point.”

I am secular, and I disagree. A fetus is basically defined as being from eight weeks after conception to birth. I believe that at the point in which ‘it’ develops the basic structural resemblance to the adult (generally it is then technically defined as a fetus) then it should carry the same rights as a living, breathing, thinking human being. After the time it develops eyes, or even a heartbeat, and becomes recognizable as a human – typically by the 4th week after conception – abortions should no longer be morally acceptable. The truth of the matter is, that life does being at conception as the ‘cellular organism’ begins to feed for itself from its designed source. With respect to the rights of a mother of her own body, the circumstance which may arise from complications or rape… the above is the furthest I will go in a compromise of the issue.

David says “Religion is religion and we have as much of a right to freedom from religion as you have a right to practice your religion.”

You only have the freedom from religion as it pertains to religious doctrine or belief being made law. Abortion does not qualify as religious doctrine as it doesn’t require religious belief to oppose abortion.

David says “But this is a secular society and only a tiny extremist percentage believe that abortion is murder. The larger majority of Americans believe a woman has a right to determine whether to keep a fetus or not.”

Your ideas of larger majority, versus a tiny ‘extremist percentage’ are erroneous.

David says “Frankly, this is no one’s decision, but the woman’s. Gov’t, and the busy-body religious whackos, should have zero say here.”

Should they also have no say if a mother drops a baby into a garbage after birth? What difference is it then if the baby – looking just like a baby – is pulled from the womb and dropped in a garbage can?

      • GregS

        TML says:

“Abortion does not qualify as religious doctrine as it doesn’t require religious belief to oppose abortion.”

Well said, TML. There are atheists who are pro-life.

    • concerned citizen

Dave…. do you know what biology is? I suppose you do if you graduated past the 9th grade in the last 50 years… What does it take to make a fetus? Sperm and Egg, right? This is a mix of 2 different DNA strands to combine to make a new one that supports the growth and development of a human life…. still with me?
If a NEW LIFE is started with NEW DNA from the combination of the egg and sperm and it is viable to produce a baby in the future of the development, how is that NEW DNA to be considered just an ordinary part of the health of a woman.. a hunk of HER flesh to be chosen whether to keep or remove like a mole or skin tag…?
It is a new being, capable of growing up to be a human… And, does that new DNA stop growing the body of said child as soon as the baby comes out into the natural world? Nope… it goes through stages of growth from baby to toddler, to child, to teenager, to man or woman.
So how can anyone say that the stage of development is not life? AND.. if the fetus continues to grow and mature to baby-hood… if it doesn’t stop and become a miscarriage… then I suspect that the will of the fetus is to be born… not to be killed! Just because you can’t hear a voice from the womb that doesn’t mean that there are no clues to see whether a child wants to develop into a baby or not.
Lastly, if said new baby DNA flesh is part of two adult or consenting humans, don’t they have 50/50 rights to see the child born? So shouldn’t consent from both parties be MANDATORY, plus if under-age, aren’t the parents of the young lady responsible for HER healthcare and should be required to sign off on any such procedure?
You can bet if my 15 year old son grabbed my gun and shot somebody… the nearest relative is going to sue me because my son should never have access to my gun…. why aren’t parents of men suing parents of females that have abortions for the right to have the child?

It is not about WOMEN’s rights… It should be a decision of FAMILIES first, whether you believe in God and his laws or not.

All men are created equal right? With inalienable rights…. to the pursuit of LIFE, LIBERTY, and the pursuit of happiness…

If you can extract a fetus and do a DNA test on the flesh and it comes out exactly the same as the mother… it is flesh… do what you want with it. If you do the same and it comes out as it’s own person…. living tissue with a purpose to survive and grow into a child… what right do you really have to snuff it out? Especially for convenience…. That’s just SICK!

Wrong! Any textbook in embryology will tell you that the unborn child is a living human organism. The DNA determines that he/she is human from the moment of conception.

      David says:

“Anyone who claims a fetus should have the same rights as a living, breathing, thinking human being is stretching religious beliefs to the breaking point.”

Wrong again! The RIGHT TO LIFE is one of the most basic rights in the Constitution, and it precedes all other rights.

Wow! Where in the Bill of Rights does is say anything about freedom from religion. No, it is freedom of religion. The only people I see forcing anything about religion is those forcing their “freedom from religion” on everyone else.

It has become minority rules…..minority voices of anti-religion, minority voices on gay rights, minority rights on abortion, etc. etc. If you are not politically correct you have committed a human rights hate crime.

You want freedom from religion? OK, I want freedom from liberal ideals! If you don’t like something, or don’t believe in something; don’t participate in that belief! But leave me alone to participate and enjoy my GOD given right to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness!

    • Elevenarrows

AMEN! Jeff! Sadly, so many scream about tolerance; yet the only tolerance not afforded in our society today is tolerance for biblical virtues. I find it ironic that people fight for what they consider “choice” or “rights”, but they certainly aren’t willing to give the other side the same consideration.

And DavidL, many of the same people who are fighting to save lives in the womb are the same people fighting to limit the high number of deaths from Big Pharma, doctor errors, and the poor quality of care available in America’s healthcare system. And no, most of us do not see Obamacare as anything more than a typical power grab by the elites.

    • 45caliber

      Jeff:

I agree with you. It always annoys me when someone insists that you are infringing on their rights – but they are happy to take away your rights because they don’t like or understand what you do like. “I don’t like religion so you can’t practice it!” “I don’t like guns, so you have to give yours up!” “I don’t like your attitude so you have to follow my PC principles – but I don’t.”

Lol… Wow… Where to begin with this load from Jeff…

Ok… There are not TV stations dedicated telling you NOT to believe.

There are TV stations that beam Christian propaganda everyday.

The founders of this country wanted people to believe or not in religion and that gov will not prefer any religion or no religion at all. Religion belongs in your home and your church or other religious building and NOT the government.

Thats what the religious nuts do not get.

      • sam1966

Dave 67 shows us his little knowledge about our founders. The freedom of religion, not freedom from religion, was written in the 1st Amendment, not to protect government from religion, but to protect religion from government. Also, since the fed cannot do anything with religion, the individual states, using the 10th Amendment, can have state sponsored religions. So if the president is a religious man, he can’t use his faith or beliefs at work or his shaping of policies? Ha, ha, ha, ha! You make me laugh. Sorry dude, but you have failed todays quiz, no go home and study some more. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY! 하나님하고 나라를 위해서!

David, can you present some actual studies showing the percentage of Americans that support abortion? The percentage that think it is murder? Can you explain what basis you used to determine that a “fetus” is a human wannabe? I’m just wondering, but have you actually ever carried a “fetus” in your body? I have. FOURTEEN times. I assure you that anyone who denies the fundamental fact that a “fetus” IS human is either speaking out of absolute ignorance of conception and the development of a human being in the womb OR he is speaking out of willful defiance against the laws of nature and the God that set those laws in place.

I suspect that you are of the latter persuasion and you truly cannot see your condition.

If abortion is murder, it is obviously a premeditated murder for hire. That means that the mother, the doctor, and others involved are, at least in this state, subject to the death penalty, with a minimum sentence of life imprisonment without possibility of parole. I’ve talked to many people who believe that abortion is murder, but so far none who want to treat the woman as a murderer.
The best way to prevent abortion is contraception, but some hame religious views that get in the way of this truth.

Since the 50′s when USA became more africanisd, illegamate birth rates climbed, single families with the mothers as the head of the house holds sky rocketed. Just check the (Reverands) of the black theology craps that will mate with anything warm and easy , or as Obama, other males. After taking crimminal justice claasses, on prisoner’s attitude toward sexual pervert acceptance, blacks, have no qualms in being hetro when out, and being homo when incarated. Whhen the idol of the black pervs admire and worship abhorant behavior, like having 11 kids out of 10 hoes. the anti-abortion crowd has no answer for the millions of children that currently live in foster care, orphanages or protective services. a record number of children.

we have a decreasing number of jobs. which has lead to an increase in demand for social services.

the same crowd that is against abortion is the same crowd that wants to eliminate social services.

their only solution is to increase the over problems of over population.

    • Karolyn

Actually, i posted a study last year that came to the conclusions that legalized abortion was actually one of the reasons for the drop in crime over the past 40 years. Less children born into horrendous circumstances and growing up to be criminals. I’ll have to look for that if I can remember it.

      • JimH

So I guess we execute the potential criminals before they have a chance to commit a crime, even if some of them wouldn’t have.
In fact there have been 56 million more crimes(murder) commited in the last 40 years.

      • Karolyn

Jim – I have researched this several times both for my old job and on my on. Crime is down – period. Look it up.

      • JimH

        You completly missed the point.
If you support infanticide just because you believe it caused the crime rate to go down, even if one of the babies killed wouldn’t have been involved in a crime, that’s just sick.
How can crime be down after 56million murders have been commited?

      • Karolyn

Well, I believe in reincarnation, so any spirit that leaves this earth is free to come back if it wants, and that includes babies’ souls. I also believe that each spirit chooses the body it wishes to inhabit, including those whose bodies are aborted. Death is just another part of life, after all. When we die, we are really free – That’s living!

      • JimH

So you rationalize murder, by thinking “they’ll just be reincarnated anyway”.
That’s a new one on me.

“the anti-abortion crowd has no answer for the millions of children that currently live in foster care, orphanages or protective services. a record number of children.”

Most of the children in these homes are there because of the death of their parents, child neglect, etc. Abortion-on-demand has been legal in this country since 1973, and it has NEVER addressed the issue of “record number[s] of children” in foster care and orphanages. All of the children in these homes were wanted when they were born. Otherwise, they’d have been aborted.

  • r b

26,000 children, age 5 and under, die needlessly from preventable disease and starvation.

How many of you who support abortion “rights” have ever witnessed an abortion? I would really like to know this. I use to be an ultrasound tech and was in on more than one abortion when the OB_GYN physician couldn’t find the right “pocket” of amniotic fluid to inject his lethal dose of saline/salt fluid into. They would come to us for help. In a woman only 3 months pregnant I could visually watch that “fetus whom you call a “nothing” swim in perfect peace in his “mothers body”. I watched him suck on his thumb (interesting activity for a Nothing to be doing.) Even MORE interesting was as I watched ON SCREEN this little “nothing” who was perfectly in peace change suddenly and jump, start moving very radically straighten out his arms (which yes were very visible) and move very fast in his environment as soon as the needle was beginning to be pushed into his mother. That all happened BEFORE I REPEAT BEFORE the needle ever entered the actual womb!!!! To say that this fetus felt “nothing” because he doesn’t have feelings at this point is to utter ignorant rhetoric that comes from talking points of the pro abortionists and not from reality. I also happen to be married to a 58 yr. old abortion SURVIVOR who made it through the process before Roe v Wade. He is the proud father of 4 children who would not be here today if his mother’s attempts @ her abortion of him had succeeded. Before you people stand in defense of this murderous act you need to be informed of your facts and witness what you call a “RIGHT” for women which is removing the “RIGHTS” of another “nothing” who really is a living breathing person who has been placed in the care of his mother’s womb which she chose to open up for business when she had sex! I find it very interesting that if a mother chooses to abort her fetus 1 week before birth it is legal however simply by passing through a birth canal she cannot. If this “fetus” can be aborted because “it” causes hardship on the mother’s life why then logic states that if the child is a discipline problem @ 10 yrs old and causes the mother “hardship” she should be able to legally kill that child then also because his is a product of that mothers body and she has the right to decide what happens to the product of her body. RIGHT???!!!!

But Jan, you’re being LOGICAL!!! Logic cannot penetrate the brain of the leftwing nuts. They can never see the truth and understand it and change their position. Behind the protester in the photo at the top of this page it says “De-fund Planned Parenthood”. The need for abotion is primarily the result of unplanned parenthood. I’d bet that because of the importance of the other services Planned Parenthood offers women the demand for abortion might actually increase if funding is eliminated. Be careful what you wish for.

    • nobodysfool

Ken10, are you talking about those “services for women” that include nonexistent mammograms? The so called president touted the provision of free mammograms that are given at Planned Parenthood clinics….but find one, just one. Even they (PP) admit they do not provide such. And the other “services” are all related to abortion. It is an industry for murder of the innocent, and that’s all. Whine and cry, all you want to, but the facts remain. somebodysfool – No, not all PP services are related to abortion. They provide low-cost annual exams for women and birth control, as well as counseling and referrals. When I was in my 20s and couldn’t afford a doctor, PP was a big help to me.

What the Ku Klux Klan Could Only Dream About The Abortion Industry is Accomplishing

American blacks should be made aware what is happening to them. More black babies have been aborted than have ever died in the U.S. In 1996, the most recent year for which abortion statistics are available from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there were approximately 1,221,585 abortions performed in the United States.

Since 1973, approx 13 million black babies have been killed by abortion.

Also, since Since 1973, abortion has reduced the black population by over 25 percent. Twice as many African-Americans have died from abortion than have died from AIDS, accidents, violent crimes, cancer, and heart disease combined. Planned Parenthood operates the nation’s largest chain (nearly nearly 850 death centers) of abortion clinics and almost 80 percent of its facilities are located in minority neighborhoods.

About 13 percent of American women are black, but they submit to over 35 percent of the abortions. -These quotes are from blackgenocide.com

Liberal Democrats smile in your face and court Black votes; while managing to kill you!

Without abortion, America’s African-American population of 42 million people would be about 35% larger today.

    Who is responsible for this?

The same political party who always courts African-American votes, which blacks have always voted for. The Democratic party is without a doubt the force behind this murder of America’s babies, and especially African-American babies. Yet blacks seem blind to this. John Kerry, Ted Kennedy and nearly all Democrats admit they are for abortion.

Who can doubt the Democrat resolve to sustain and advance abortion after watching any Supreme Court nomination proceeding? Then, why do African-American continue to vote Democrat, which means their demise?

John Kerry argues that an unborn child is not a person, so this unborn baby is therefore not protected by the law.

Blacks should remember that the Supreme Court used this same basic flawed argument in 1857 during their “Dred Scott” decision. The outcome, was that this court declared that blacks simply weren’t persons because they were inferior; so the law didn’t protect them.

Is the Supreme Court always right?

The Dred Scott decision of 1857 upheld slavery as legal. It decreed that black people are the private property of the slave owners. This was a grave error of the Supreme Court, denying African Americans one of their most fundamental human rights — the right to liberty. In Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court erred again by denying a whole class of human beings (preborn babies) the most fundamental right — the right to life.

Did you know that Margaret Sanger, the 1921 founder of the American Birth Control League, the forerunner of the Planned Parenthood (1942) worked closely with W.E.B. Du Bois on his “Negro Project,” an effort to expose Southern black women to birth control. Margaret Sanger also wrote many articles sympathetic to eugenics, some in Socialist
    papers.

Liberals Have Contempt for Black People and their Babies

You may have heard about the abortion doctor who said that “abortions save taxpayers money, prevent shootings like the one in Colorado, and rid the world of ‘ugly black babies.’

Blacks are the most affected by liberal policies, including abortion. Blacks vote for a political party that has kept them in poverty, political slavery, and promoted and supported a form of genocide.

Margaret Sanger opened the country’s first birth-control clinic. She founded the American Birth Control League in 1921, which in 1942 became part of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America. Since then, Planned Parenthood has grown to more than 820 clinics across the United States. Nearly a half-billion of our tax dollars goes to funding the organization.

In 1939 Sanger started “The Negro Project.” She called on black preachers to support sterilization of their own people:

“We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.”

Some black leaders, including Jesse Jackson at one time, described abortion as “black genocide.” Here’s what Jesse Jackson said about abortion in 1977:

“Those advocates of taking life prior to birth do not call it killing or murder, they call it abortion. They further never talk about aborting a baby because that would imply something human. Rather they talk about aborting the fetus. Fetus sounds less than human and therefore abortion can be justified.”

Here are a few statistics that African Americans might not be aware of:

Between 1882 and 1968, 3,446 Blacks were lynched in the U.S. That number is surpassed in less than 3 days by abortion.

1,452 African-American children are killed each day by abortion.

3 out of 5 pregnant African-American women will abort their child.

Since 1973 there have been over 13 million Black children killed and their mothers victimized by the U.S. abortion industry.

How long do you think abortion would be legal in America if Blacks actually thought about the long-term consequences of this government-supported act designed to eliminate them and other undesirables as “human weeds”?

I wonder how many Blacks knew the disproportionate statistics before they voted for Obama and his radical proactive pro-abortion views?

I wonder how many upper class Blacks knew it and voted for him because of his views on abortion and because they disdain lower class Blacks except when they vote to keep them in office?

    • brett

this quote from sanger concerning sterilization is taken completely out of context. although she was an advocate for eugenics ( not all eugenics are as extreme as nazi germany ( i do not agree with eugenics, but i understand their argument )), she was referring to the possible fear of practicing birth control in the jim crow south ( damn those liberal policies ). at no time was anyone asked to sterilize anyone against their will ( unless the gobbler has his way ). 1,800 white babies a day, i guess they are out for white people too.

      • brett

oh, and just for arguments sake… martin luther king jr. accepted the margaret sanger award in 1966.

      • http://gravatar.com/bychoosing WTS/JAY

Dr. Alveda King, pro-life advocate and niece of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., has attacked Planned Parenthood, saying its comments about the civil rights leader amount to “lying.” She charged that the organization misrepresents Rev. King’s reception of the Margaret Sanger Award. “I hate to sound combative, but they do this every year,” she told CNA in a Tuesday phone interview.

On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) released a statement saying the civil rights leader had received the Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s Margaret Sanger Award in 1966.

The award is given to recognize “individuals’ excellence and leadership in furthering reproductive health and rights” and is named for the founder of Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood said that Dr. King fought for racial justice, fair wages for workers and “quality health care for all” in its Jan. 18 statement. The organization said that Planned Parenthood works “in the tradition of Dr. King’s call for equity in health care” by erasing “disparities” in the health care system that disproportionately affect “people of color.”

The organization, the nation’s largest abortion provider, claimed that more than 90 percent of the health care provided at its health centers is preventive and includes breast exams, Pap tests and contraception.

PPFA then quoted what it described as the comments Dr. King wrote “in accepting the Sanger Award.”

‘We had confidence that when we awakened the nation to the immorality and evil of inequality, there would be an upsurge of conscience followed by remedial action.’

Speaking to CNA on Tuesday, Alveda King commented: “Dr. King did not attend that ceremony, he did not write that speech.”

Rather, she explained, his wife Coretta Scott King delivered the speech.

Alveda King questioned the authorship of the text at several points because of language she found implausible.

“There’s one page in there that says something about ‘the plight of the male ego.’ No male will say that,” she explained to CNA.

King connected the falsehoods she saw about the Margaret Sanger Award with the “lies” she said are told by abortion advocates.

“They lie, they lied to me. They told me that my baby was a blob of tissue, that its removal would not hurt any more than removing a tooth. But it did hurt much more, and it was much more devastating.”

“Abortion isn’t health care, it is a death warrant for babies,” she stated.

King referred CNA to her pamphlet “An analysis of the PPH MLK Brochure,” available in the African-American Outreach section of the Priests for Life website. She also referred to her comments on her blog at PriestsForLife.org.

There in a Tuesday entry she asked rhetorically whether a man who “warned against the evils of infanticide in his Letter From A Birmingham Jail,” whose father was “staunchly pro-life,” and who saw injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere, could support “abortion and killer chemicals called ‘safe’ birth control.”

“They lied to my uncle, Dr. King. How can the dream survive if we murder our children?”

Eugenics and Other Evils : An Argument Against the Scientifically Organized State

        Book description:

In the second decade of the twentieth century, an idea became all too fashionable among those who feel it is their right to set social trends. Wealthy families took it on as a pet cause, generously bankrolling its research. The New York Times praised it as a wonderful “new science.” Scientists, such as the brilliant plant biologist, Luther Burbank, praised it unashamedly. Educators as prominent as Charles Elliot, President of Harvard University, promoted it as a solution to social ills. America’s public schools did their part.

In the 1920s, almost three-fourths of high school social science textbooks taught its principles. Not to be outdone, judges and physicians called for those principles to be enshrined into law. Congress agree, passing the 1924 immigration law to exclude from American shores the people of Eastern and Southern Europe that the idea branded as inferior. In 1927, the U. S. Supreme Court joined the chorus, ruling by a lopsided vote of 8 to 1 that the sterilization of unwilling men and women was constitutional.

That idea was eugenics and in the English-speaking world it had virtually no critics among the “chattering classes.” When he wrote this book, Chesterton stood virtually alone against the intellectual world of his day. Yet to his eternal credit, he showed no sign of being intimidated by the prestige of his foes. On the contrary, he thunders against eugenics, ranking it one of the great evils of modern society. And, in perhaps one of the most chillingly accurate prophecies of the century, he warns that the ideas that eugenics had unleashed were likely to bear bitter fruit in another nation. That nation was Germany, the “very land of scientific culture from which the ideal of a Superman had come.”

In fact, the very group that Nazism tried to exterminate, Eastern European Jews, and the group it targeted for later extermination, the Slavs, were two of those whose biological unfitness eugenists sought so eagerly to confirm.

What are sometimes called the “excesses” of Nazism drove the open advocacy of eugenics underground. But there’s little evidence that the elements of society who once trumpeted the idea have changed their mind. Dr. Alan Guttmacher provides a good example. The fact that he had been Vice-President of the American Eugenics Association was no hindrance to his assuming the Presidency of Planned ParenthoodWorld Population in 1962. And his seedy past did not keep Congress from providing millions of dollars in federal funds to Planned Parenthood. Nor did it stop the Supreme Court from carrying out the central item in Dr. Guttmacher’s political agenda‹legalized abortion. Many of those who now admit that eugenics was evil have trouble explaining why so few of its advocates were every exposed and why so many are still honored.

As the title suggests, eugenics is not the only evil that Chesterton blasts. Socialism gets some brilliantly worded broadsides and Chesterton, in complete fairness, does not spare capitalism. He also attacks the scientifically justified regimentation that others call the “health police.” The same rationalizations that justified eugenics, he notes, can also be used to deprive a working man of his beer or any man of his pipe. Although it was first published in 1922, there’s a startling relevance to what Chesterton had to say about mettlesome bureaucrats who deprive life of its little pleasures and freedoms. His tale about an unfortunate man fired because “his old cherry-briar” “might set the water-works on fire” is priceless.

That tale illustrates Chesterton’s brilliant use of humor, a knack his foes were quick to realize. In their review of his book, Birth Control News griped, “His tendency is reactionary, and as he succeeds in making most people laugh, his influence in the wrong direction is considerable. Eugenics Review was even blunter. “The only interest in this book,” they said, “is pathological. It is a revelation of the ineptitude to which ignorance and blind prejudice may reduce an intelligent man.”

History has been far kinder to Chesterton than to his critics. It’s now generally agree that eugenics was born of evolution and the “ignorance and blind prejudice” of social elites. But never forget that Chesterton was the first to say so, condemning what many of his peers praised.

The completely new edition of Chesterton’s classic includes almost fifty pages from the writings of Chesterton’s opponents. They illustrate just how accurate his attacks on
eugenists were. For researchers, it also includes a detailed, 13-page index.

brett: 1,800 white babies a day, i guess they are out for white people too.

Black babies in the United States are aborted at three times the rate of white babies. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), approximately 45 percent of preborn black babies were aborted in the United States in 2007 (the most recent year for which federal statistics are available). By comparison, the same report shows that approximately 16 percent of white babies were aborted in 2007 in the U.S.

In some urban areas, the number is much higher. In New York City, 60 percent of all black pregnancies ended in abortion in 2009, according to the city’s health department.

The startling reality is that, in some places in the U.S., a black baby is more likely to be aborted than to be born, tragically reinforcing the “Endangered Species” campaign messaging.

Even the Guttmacher Institute, a pro-abortion think tank originally founded as the research arm of Planned Parenthood, reports that blacks account for 30 percent of all nationwide abortions—although the U.S. Census reports that they make up only 13 percent of the population. In contrast, non-Hispanic whites comprise 36 percent of all
abortions, despite making up more than 65 percent of the population.

The target seems to be blacks, brett…btw, aren’t they the pet-project of liberals? Poor black-folks; “let’s give them welfare and abortion on demand at tax-payers’ expanse” should be the liberal’s political, platform-slogan; don’t you think?

Abortions are not funded by tax dollars! Besides the fact that all medical records are private.

Obama’s healthcare bill, now signed into law, does indeed make provisions (a number of them) to fund tax payer paid abortions.

Also – those who are of the liberal bent and can’t wrap their minds around this fact, remember this – the Stupak Amendment to the healthcare bill, headed by a group of Democrats would have ensured no tax payer dollars would be used. I’m curious to know the answer to this question, if you are of the mind tax dollars can’t be used to fund abortions in Obamacare, why did these Democrats make an amendment that stopped abortions from being taxpayer funded?

If it wasn’t in the healthcare bill, what would a half dozen Democrats have gone against their own party, holding out their votes to make Obamacare law, if the bill didn’t contain provisions and ways that tax dollars would be used to fund abortions?

Fact: those same Democrats caved and dropped their demand /the amendment, yet still signed on the dotted line to make Obamacare law. Despicable lot. They undermined their own principles and morals for what they must have thought at the time was political expediency. How did that work out for them? Rhetorical.

Regardless, here is the list of a few articles discussing the fact that Obamacare allows and in fact uses tax dollars to fund abortions:

What do you call Obama bin Laden’s administration giving federal funds to unplanned parenthood? Though this is illegal according to the Hyde Amendment.. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY! 하나님하고 나라를 위해서!

Confessions of an Ex-Abortionist -BERNARD NATHANSON

Dr. Bernard Nathanson details the deceptions, dirty tricks, and other tactics that helped make abortion legal and socially acceptable in the United States.

I am personally responsible for 75,000 abortions. This legitimizes my credentials to speak to you with some authority on the issue. I was one of the founders of the National Association for the Repeal of the Abortion Laws in the U.S. in 1968. A truthful poll of opinion then would have found that most Americans were against permissive abortion. Yet within five years we had convinced the Supreme Court to issue the decision which legalized abortion throughout America in 1973 and produced virtual abortion on demand up to birth.

How did we do this? It is important to understand the tactics involved because these tactics have been used throughout the western world with one permutation or another, in order to change abortion law.

The First Key Tactic was to capture the media

We persuaded the media that the cause of permissive abortion was a liberal enlightened, sophisticated one. Knowing that if a true poll were taken, we would be soundly defeated, we simply fabricated the results of fictional polls. We announced to the media that we had taken polls and that 60% of Americans were in favour of permissive abortion. This is the tactic of the self-fulfilling lie. Few people care to be in the minority.

We aroused enough sympathy to sell our program of permissive abortion by fabricating the number of illegal abortions done annually in the U.S. The actual figure was approaching 100,000 but the figure we gave to the media repeatedly was 1,000,000. Repeating the big lie often enough convinces the public. The number of women dying cfrom illegal abortions was around 200 – 250 annually. The figure constantly fed to the media was 10,000. These false figures took root in the consciousness of Americans convincing many that we needed to crack the abortion law. Another myth we fed to the public through the media was that legalizing abortion would only mean that the abortions taking place illegally would then be done legally. In fact, of course, abortion is now being used as a primary method of birth control in the U.S. and the annual number of abortions has increased by 1500% since legalization.

The Second Key Tactic was to Play the Catholic Card

We systematically vilified the Catholic Church and its “socially backward ideas” and picked on the Catholic hierarchy as the villain in opposing abortion. This theme was played endlessly. We fed the media such lies as “we all know that opposition to abortion comes from the hierarchy and not from most Catholics” and “Polls prove time and again that most Catholics want abortion law reform.” And the media drum-fired all this into the American people, persuading them that anyone opposing permissive abortion must be under the influence of the Catholic hierarchy and that Catholics in favour of abortion are enlightened and forward-looking. An inference of this tactic was that there were no non-Catholic groups opposing abortion. The fact that other Christian as well as non-Christian religions were (and still are) monolithically opposed to abortion was constantly suppressed, along with pro-life atheists’ opinions.

The Third Key Tactic was the Denigration and Suppression of all Scientific Evidence that Life Begins at Conception

I am often asked what made me change my mind. How did I change from prominent abortionist to pro-life advocate? In 1973, I became director of obstetrics of a large hospital in New York City and had to set up a perinatal research unit, just at the start of a great new technology which we now use every day to study the fetus in the womb. A favorite pro-abortion tactic is to insist that the definition of when life begins is impossible; that the question is a theological or moral or philosophical one, anything but a scientific one. Fetology makes it undeniably evident that life begins at conception and requires all the protection and safeguards that any of us enjoy.

Why, you may well ask, do some American doctors who are privy to the findings of fetology, discredit themselves by carrying out abortions? Simple arithmetic: at $300.00 a time 1.55 million abortions means an industry generating $500,000,000 annually, of which most goes into the pocket of the physician doing the abortion. It is clear that permissive abortion is purposeful destruction of what is undeniably human life. It is an impermissible act of deadly violence. One must concede that unplanned pregnancy is a wrenchingly difficult dilemma. But to look for its solution in a deliberate act of destruction is to trash the vast resourcefulness of human ingenuity, and to surrender the public weal to the classic utilitarian answer to social problems.

As a scientist I know, not believe, know that human life begins at conception. Although I am not a formal religionist, I believe with all my heart that there is a divinity of existence which commands us to declare a final and irreversible halt to this infinitely sad and shameful crime against humanity.

The progressive female that tries to say taxpayers aren’t subsidizing abortions, check out how much planned parenthood gets to help females, really. The break down of money spent, they sure weren’t checking the mammary system, or doing mental stability, but are mire interested in the child developement bed in a female. Onumnutts never has a problem of exterminating a viable human all they way to decending down the birth cannel and would with hold medical care for the baby if born alive. This self centered muslim puke in the WH and his followers would be the ones to embrace Hitler andany another multi cultured sicko they can find. Then this muslim marxist wants to take away our means of personal defense, think the communist/socialist democrats and their mulsim marxist would have an issue of killing any one that don’t agree with their dictator run ideas.

Eugenics led directly to the birth control movement. All the same players were involved, such as Margaret Sanger, who was a member of the American Eugenics Society and was the editor of the Birth Control Review. The primary philosophy was trumpeted on the cover of the Birth Control Review: “More Children for the Fit. Less for the Unfit.”

She made it clear whom she considered unfit:. “Hebrews, Slavs, Catholics, and Negroes.” She set up her Birth Control clinics only in their neighborhoods. She openly advocated the idea that such people should apply for official permission to have babies “as immigrants have to apply for visas.”

Why don’t we hear of this connection between Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood, and Eugenics?

Two words: Adolf Hitler. He officially instituted Eugenics, leading an entire country in carrying out its principles, not only to breed what he believed to be a superior race but to eliminate everyone whom he considered to be inferior.

Where did Hitler find early support for his Eugenic ideas?

From Margaret Sanger and her circle. Eugenic Scientists from Nazi Germany wrote articles for Sanger’s Birth Control Review, and members of Sanger’s American Birth Control League visited Nazi Germany, sat in on sessions of the Supreme Eugenics Court, and returned with glowing reports of how the Sterilization Law was “weeding out the worst strains in the Germanic stock in a scientific and truly humanitarian way.”

After World War II, when the world learned of the horrors of the Holocaust and the death camps, the term Eugenics was utterly discredited. Margaret Sanger was quick to distance herself from Eugenics and began to emphasize Birth Control as supposedly a feminist issue. We don’t hear about Eugenics at all any more.

But unfortunately, the philosophy behind Eugenics is with us still. Generally speaking, all of the original arguments in favor of Eugenics have become the same arguments in favor of birth control, abortion, euthanasia, and even cloning.

    WHAT IS EUGENICS?

The wisest thing in the world is to cry out before you are hurt. It is no good to cry out after you are hurt; especially after you are mortally hurt. People talk about the impatience of the populace; but sound historians know that most tyrannies have been possible because men moved too late. It is often essential to resist a tyranny before it exists. It is no answer to say, with a distant optimism, that the scheme is only in the air. A blow from a hatchet can only be parried while it is in the air.

There exists to-day a scheme of action, a school of thought, as collective and unmistakable as any of those by whose grouping alone we can make any outline of history. It is as firm a fact as the Oxford Movement, or the Puritans of the Long Parliament; or the Jansenists; or the Jesuits. It is a thing that can be pointed out; it is a thing that can be discussed; and it is a thing that can still be destroyed. It is called for convenience “Eugenics”; and that it ought to be destroyed I propose to prove in the pages that follow.

I know that it means very different things to different people; but that is only because evil always takes advantage of ambiguity.

I know it is praised with high professions of idealism and benevolence; with silver-tongued rhetoric about purer motherhood and a happier posterity. But that is only because evil is always flattered, as the Furies were called “The Gracious Ones.”

I know that it numbers many disciples whose intentions are entirely innocent and humane; and who would be sincerely astonished at my describing it as I do. But that is only because evil always wins through the strength of its splendid dupes; and there has in all ages been a disastrous alliance between abnormal innocence and abnormal sin.

Of these who are deceived I shall speak of course as we all do of such instruments; judging them by the good they think they are doing, and not by the evil which they really do. But Eugenics itself does exist for those who have sense enough to see that ideas exist; and Eugenics itself, in large quantities or small, coming quickly or coming slowly, urged from good motives or bad, applied to a thousand people or applied to three, Eugenics itself is a thing no more to be bargained about than poisoning.
