Libertarian Activist Under Investigation For Loading Shotgun In Washington

July 5, 2013 by

Libertarian activist and radio host Adam Kokesh released a video showing himself loading a shotgun in the middle of Freedom Plaza in Washington on Thursday with the Capitol building clearly shown behind him.

“We will not be silent, we will not obey, we will not allow our government to destroy our humanity,” Kokesh said as he loaded the gun. “We are, the final, American, revolution. See you next Independence Day.”

Kokesh had previously planned to lead an armed march on Washington to celebrate Independence Day, but backed off when Washington Metropolitan Police pledged to arrest marchers who openly carried rifles into the city.

Officers with the department said they have viewed the video and are currently investigating the activist.

“The Metropolitan Police Department and U.S. Park Police are aware that today Adam Kokesh posted a video that appears to have been taken in Freedom Plaza in Northwest, D.C. We are in the process of determining the authenticity of the video.”

With all of the terrorists running around in this world, besides the mental cases with guns, it was a stupid thing for him to do………unless he does NOT value his life.

    • sootsme

Actually, most of the worst terrorists/mental cases in the US are employed by our government. Just my not so humble opinion, but I could make a pretty good case, methinks…

      • Priscilla King

Sometimes I think our government has a morbid fear of firing anybody…cases in point: Chojnacki & Sarabyn…but Kokesh should have some compassion for the decent people who are also employed by the government.

        • sootsme

Why would “decent people” participate in oppression and tyranny, not to mention enabling? If you think about it, most of what governments do fits in the three previously mentioned categories. Exceptions would be national defense and… actually, that’s about it. Punch line for anyone who is actually productive: “Just say NO!” Ben Franklin put it best: “The government that would take 10% would be exceedingly oppressive.”
Protecting one’s pension and benefits ain’t good enough. That’s just a form of getting paid not to produce goods or services that others will pay you for of their own volition, without being forced (as in taxes and fees levied by the government, and backed by force, to support their criminal enterprise.) Pointing out and discrediting erroneous assumptions is a full time job these days…

          • Priscilla King

Oh for pity’s sake…like a 19-year-old file clerk thinks s/he is participating in oppression and tyranny. Like a cashier thinks s/he is responsible for any dishonest and/or oppressive policies set by a supermarket chain. If decent people can be employed only in ideologically perfect jobs, a lot of people can’t feed their children. Jesus didn’t hold the tax collectors responsible for the policies of the Roman Empire–only for not robbing people, themselves.

          • sootsme

As Citizens, we’re all to blame for letting things get out of hand. I have had conversations with government employees and folks in the armed forces where the subject of ethics vs. policy came up, and pension/benefits was a common justification for not refusing or exposing questionable practices. Neither payment or ignorance are valid excuses. The honest answer is “I’m getting mine, and that’s what is important to me.” If they want to run their lives that way, that’s their business but I am not obligated to support them, or to justify their choices. Again, personal Liberty requires personal Responsibility. Folks who don’t get this deserve contempt rather than compassion. Sadly, those folks are present in ever greater numbers in present day America…

I’m curious, Sootsme…what do you do?

          • Priscilla King

Actually, this discussion goes off on a tangent, so I’m reopening it at priscillaking dot Blogspot and cat_sanctuary dot Live Journal. Where do youall draw the line between employees’ and employers’ responsibilities?

          • sootsme

I have a service business, where I work very hard fixing things for folks who gladly pay me well for making their homes & lives a bit better. And I do what I can to help folks appreciate our God given gifts of Liberty and Opportunity which we as Americans have been given at great cost to those who came before us, and over which we are supposed to have stewardship. Seems we’ve fallen a bit short on that one as of late…

          • Priscilla King

Thank you; your answer’s been reposted at Live Journal.

It’s time Jefferson was right and the tree of freedom needs watering again!!

    • nick

The tree of liberty must be refreshed with the blood of tyrants and patriots from time to time, that’s the full quote.

      • brente

I know I was para phrasing

      • Al Chemist

Actually, the Tree of Liberty is being pissed upon by the government and all the liberals/commies in it.

  • John Woodbury

He said he would see us next 4th, maybe not.

  • equestrian_colt

Hey F Tarded government I have a right andso does every other human on this planet if we wan’t load or have fully Loaded guns we can if your lap dogs can carry them so can anybody else. Take your laws and control and shove it up your over controlling power happy nazi satanic derrieres.

    • Priscilla King

Your right to load or carry a gun can rightfully be curtailed if you use it to threaten people who aren’t doing you any harm.

  • Chris

Yes……….Americans have the right to carry a loaded gun, but who in their right mind would blatantly load a “shotgun” at such a place? Do you think the law is going to look the other way? No! The law does not know what that someone is going to do with that “shotgun”; to me it would look like he is getting ready to go ballistic on people, and we’ve all heard enough about that happening. Do you think if you saw this that you would just STAND THERE?

  • Walt

Before you sign on to Adam Kokesh’s bandwagon, do a “little research” on who this rat-bastard really is. Go to Google and simply type in “Adam Kokesh Communist”. Does the term “rabble rouser” mean anything to you?
Research his “actual” service in Iraq. Research his derogatory anti-war comments regarding our involvement in Iraq, his affiliation with German left-wing “peace organizations”, research his employment with “Russia Today”.
While his message may appeal to some fools. I would suggest you think long and hard about how the communists us the term “useful idiots”. Don’t be one.
This tool of the left-wing would love nothing better than to give his masters the excuse to impose marshall law, by shutting down an armed march of “patriots” led by a “Judas Goat”.

  • Priscilla King

    Activist? The word is “fool.”
