Left Targets Immature Voters

Recent reports show that, despite the increasingly kitschy campaign ads from the left (called by some pundits an attempt to lure younger, more immature voters), the campaign for President Barack Obama lacks youth support in key battleground States.

A survey of college-aged voters conducted by Sky News in Ohio, a political battleground State, shows Obama failing to energize young voters with the “rock star” persona he touted in 2008. Many young voters polled said that Obama’s youth appeal has been largely exposed as fraudulent to younger voters after four years of policy that doesn’t match.

From the article:

The president has been campaigning hard for the youth vote in Ohio, which is widely seen as a must-win state for both candidates.

But some students at Bowling Green State University (BGSU) told Sky News Mr Obama had failed to recreate the rock star appeal of his historic 2008 campaign, when hyped-up voters aged under 30 formed a vital part of his achievement.

The president still attracts a larger share of young voters than Mitt Romney, polls suggest, but he is now only polling with a slight overall lead over his rival in Ohio. That means he needs every vote he can get and with each one he loses, he is more exposed to Mr Romney’s gains in other areas.

Slipping youth support appears to be driving the left into a frenzy to create ads of little political value that seem to serve most as a ploy for a chuckle to cement the candidate in the minds of younger, less informed and less politically active Americans.

Like this “message from the greatest generation” from Michael Moore:

Or Lena Dunham’s tasteless sex-themed advertisement paid for by Obama for America:

Sam Rolley

Staff writer Sam Rolley began a career in journalism working for a small town newspaper while seeking a B.A. in English. After learning about many of the biases present in most modern newsrooms, Rolley became determined to find a position in journalism that would allow him to combat the unsavory image that the news industry has gained. He is dedicated to seeking the truth and exposing the lies disseminated by the mainstream media at the behest of their corporate masters, special interest groups and information gatekeepers.

All of this just proves that the “left” is full of sick minds. Using children in ads to make their political points is beyond disturbing. “Progressive Liberalism” is an “Illness”. All of these sick bastards and nanny staters need to go.

    • Robert Smith

calling younger voters “children” is an insult to them. That’s why the right just doesn’t get it. Those “children” as you call them are the folks who are going to have to pay off the Bush debt. Again, no respect for them.

You feel that the fact that this Administration in particular and Progressives in general, feel that this generation is so immature and irresponsible that Daddy needs to provide for them untill at least their 27 th. birthday isn’t demeaning and belittling to them?
My Father would have stomped me into the ground had I suggested that he needed to be responsible for my needs past 21!

      • Robert Smith

“Daddy needs to provide for them untill at least their 27 th. birthday isn’t demeaning and belittling to them?”

I find it sad that you are willing to deny folks health care for any reason.

The politics of life itself are at stake. How can anyone call themselves “pro-life” and deny health insurance for any reason?

I also and disgusted that so many on the right have proclaimed that they are not their brother’s keeper. That is NOT what it means to be an American. In the America I know we help each other.

Smith, you’re pathetic! Grow up, when I was 18 I was in the army, where you became an adult real quick. Coddling kids, makes them just, that kids! The real world is a cold lonely place, its not the liberal utopia idiots like you make it out to be. The sooner you grow up and come to terms with that the easier life will be.

      • Ted Crawford

What a disgustingly disingenuous arguement Robert! It is however by your Alinsky Bible!
No one is suggesting that healthcare should be with held from anyone! Nor are any I know of denying our PERSONAL responsibilities for the welfare of our fellow man!
What we ARE saying is that it should only involve the Federal Government in an extremely limited way!
The examples of Social Security and Medicare, have taught us that the Feds. simply use these funds as sources for money to use anyway they please! $2.8 Trillion from Social Security alone!

      • Nadzieja Batki

Who do you feel will be paying off the debt? It will be the burden that will be borne by the middle class if O and his cronies do not destroy it by supposedly fixing it. At the rate of debt that the young are holding they will not be assured that they will ever earn enough to be classified as middle class.

How convenient in saying someone over 18 is a kid and can’t make appropriate decisions. They may not be as “wise” as you are but then again why do you allow 18 year olds to be sent to war. They can die for you but that can’t vote. Typical “sick” comment from the rabid right in all their two faced hypocrisy! You may think you are gung ho for the right wingers but in reality you are just a hoe for the Conservatives.

      • jopa

momo;If you were in the Army when you were 18 then you are according to Romney, nothing but a pathetic leach living off the government. A real 47 per center. You couldn’t find a real job or just not smart enough to go to college or just come from a lowlife family that couldn’t afford to send you to Yale or Harvard.Perhaps your daddy was just too cheap to give you a few million to start your own business.Which one is it?

      • momo

@jopa, I’m not thrilled with Romney or Obama, to me they’re two sides of the same coin. After the army I went to school on the GI Bill and worked part time. After college, and no it wasn’t Harvard or Yale, got a job and worked for 20 years. Saved up my money and started my own business. Got any other dumb a$$ comments?

  • Ted Crawford

WOW, WOW ! ! Anyone who could be convinced by these adds, would soundly score much lower than an Artichoke on an IQ test! ! These fools must truly be desperate to stoop to pandering to morons!

    • eddie47d

I’ll have to agree with that Ted especially the Rosebud Nursing Home one. Looks like an SNL parody and rather lame at that.

  • Jerry

  • Dee
