Lebanon Bombing Kills One, Injures Two In Antelias

ANTELIAS, Lebanon, Aug. 11 (UPI) — Police Thursday tried to determine whether a bomb that exploded in a parking lot in Antelias, Lebanon, was aimed at Judge Albert Serhal or his son.

The two bombers involved died and a passerby was slightly injured.

The blast near Center Hajj occurred about 11:30 a.m. shortly after Serhal’s son, Alain Albert Serhal, had parked the vehicle, The (Beirut) Daily Star reported.

Investigators said an analysis of injuries determined one of two individuals in possession of the bomb was crouched when the explosion occurred.

One of the suspects, Hassan Nayef Nassar, reportedly died of a heart attack. His alleged accomplice, Ihsan Ali Dia, sustained severe injuries, with the blast severing his left leg and right arm.

An investigation was under way.
