Justice Scalia: Hopes The Living Constitution Will Die

Speaking to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia said that government gridlock is good, good Federal judges are lacking and that the Constitution is being abused by those in power.

Scalia said that when he hears Americans complaining about political gridlock hampering the government’s ability to get things accomplished, he thinks they should be reminded that the system is designed to create discussion. He said if Americans understood the Constitution they would “learn to love the separation of powers, which means learning to love gridlock, which the framers believed would be the main protection of minorities.”

The longest-serving justice told the committee that the U.S. war on drugs has made Federal crimes out of too many routine drug cases. In turn, that created a need for more judges– judges that he believes are not as good as judges before them because they are no longer part of an elite group.

The justice also criticized those who try to interpret the Constitution as a living document.  He has long advocated the interpretation of the Constitution for what it meant at its time of ratification.

“I’m hoping that the ‘living Constitution’ will die,” Scalia told Senator Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) during the address.

Amen to that, Justice Scalia. Separation of power(s) and checks-and-balances keep America free. It’s possible that America was destined to have a prez who disgraces the Constitution on a daily basis. It should be noted that ANYONE who takes an oath of office that obligates the individual to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution CAN”T preserve, protect and defend the Constitution while he’s doing his worst to DESTROY the Constitution.
Those who want us to believe that the Constitution was supposed to be a “living” document are LIARS. What they say and what they mean are entirely different matters. Those people HATE freedom, they hate us, and they will stop at NOTHING to insure America’s downfall.
Gradually, America’s false ‘intellectuals’ have succombed to the treasonous, siren call of “transforming” philosophies that seek to enslave Americans. They are lying, closet tyrants, and they have chosen to sacrifice their minds and their integrity. Such people don’t believe in freedom, and they dare to believe that Americans do not deserve to be free.

I agree, the liberal ram it down your throat thought police will never be satisfied until you think like them and breath like them, I have had enough of the left side of freedom, now I am not free to think and believe for myself, I have to think and believe as they do or there is something wrong with my thought process, progressive is one thing but now we have the mess left that ruined our once great country, No longer do we have the skills and determination to build a nation, we can no longer do what we did in the 50′s to 80′s that made this the greatest nation in the world. well I am glad I am in my sunset years and will be off to live in the sky soon, My Christian Arse is Off to Live With GOD Soon and heterosexual that I am am “Welcome there,” with my Bible and Gun
May God Have Mercy On US All.
