Justice For Darryl: Where Are The Race Mongers?

There were 1,009 people murdered in Florida last year. The young black man who was shot on Feb. 26, 2012, by a “white Hispanic” in the town of Sanford isn’t one of them. A jury decided that.

But if you are famous, or if you are employed within the 24-hour mainstream news juggernaut, the chances are strong you disagree with that jury’s decision — or at least you find it in your interest to say you do. Sensible people were sick of the unmerited attention the Florida case received the day it was reported outside local news. But those people are pretty inured to media’s aspirational attempt to set the tone for what’s worth talking about, and they’ve had their hearing aids switched off for a long time. Would that there were more of them, but the bell curve of human nature eternally says “no.”

People in this country are shot and killed every day, every hour. Close to three people were murdered in Florida every day in 2012. No one outside their sphere movement while they lived, along with a few cops and lawyers, will ever know or care who any of them were. It’s likely that most of those deaths were unjust. It’s possible that some of them were unjust manifestations of burgeoning racial hatred.

The media doesn’t care about the victims of crime. The elected class doesn’t care about the victims of crime. A great many cultural leaders and highly visible famous people don’t care. But they do care about manipulating outrage, because their authoritative voices in times of manufactured hardship help to consolidate their profit, their legal power and their brand recognition.

Contrived, emotionless proxy outrage makes power more powerful and, too often in America, makes profit more profitable. In America, political and cultural leaders don’t need smart followers anymore — in fact, they’re a liability. The leaders are preaching sermons in hoodies and pretending to fantasize on Twitter about violent karmic payback for the exonerated. Turn off your hearing aid.

So comes conservative-slant news agency Breitbart, which evidently went to some effort to locate a separate, recent American murder story in which the circumstances surrounding the victim’s death make his apotheosis a complete, airtight foil to counter that of the sainted Florida victim. Breitbart Editor-At-Large Ben Shapiro’s synopsis of the crime, as well the moral parallel he draws, are subtle like an anvil:

On Thursday, July 11, police discovered the rotting body of 17-year-old Darryl Green, a black child from the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago. Green’s body was found behind a boarded-up house in the 6500-block of South Damen, face down on basement stairs. The body was so badly decomposed that originally, local news reports suggested that he had died of blunt force trauma. On Friday, an autopsy showed he had been shot to death. Relatives reported that Green had refused to join a gang at school.

Meanwhile, members of the media including Reverend Al Sharpton and Reverend Jesse Jackson focused on the “not guilty” verdict in [the Florida case]. The only media outlets that have covered the murder of Darryl Green are The Chicago Sun-Times and ABC 7 Chicago. The New York Times’ Joe Nocera mentioned Green in passing in a blog post devoted to highlighting gun crimes across the country. President Obama has not commented on Green’s death. Neither have any other politicians, including local Congressmen Danny Davis and Bobby Rush, or Mayor Rahm Emanuel. Neither has anyone at MSNBC, CNN, ABC News, NBC News, CBS News, The Washington Post, Associated Press, Reuters, or throughout the Hollywood community.

Swapping one red herring tragedy for its antithesis, Shapiro also set up the first #JusticeForDarryl message, which had been retweeted about 700 times Monday afternoon. As distasteful as it might be to co-opt a local tragedy — one of hundreds in Chicagoland — to prove a point, it’s a pretty powerful point. The whole kaboom over the death of one young man in Florida was never about principle. And that’s why Green’s death, which is the very definition of hatred running roughshod over principle, is likely to remain a local tragedy. It simply doesn’t fit a narrative anyone in the American exploitative class can use.

Personal Liberty

Ben Bullard

Reconciling the concept of individual sovereignty with conscientious participation in the modern American political process is a continuing preoccupation for staff writer Ben Bullard. A former community newspaper writer, Bullard has closely observed the manner in which well-meaning small-town politicians and policy makers often accept, unthinkingly, their increasingly marginal role in shaping the quality of their own lives, as well as those of the people whom they serve. He argues that American public policy is plagued by inscrutable and corrupt motives on a national scale, a fundamental problem which individuals, families and communities must strive to solve. This, he argues, can be achieved only as Americans rediscover the principal role each citizen plays in enriching the welfare of our Republic.

    How true.

A black man attacks a white man. The white man defends himself. That’s not self-defense. That’s a hate crime. Whites are not allowed to defend themselves against black attackers. A black man attacks another black man. The victim defends himself. That’s okay. A white man attacks a black man. That’s a hate crime. That black man defends himself. That’s okay as well. Blacks are allowed to defend themselves against whites. Since Obama took office blacks have allowed to commit whatever crimes they choose and do not have to face any consequences. If something isn’t done soon, there WILL be a revolution!

    • Jeff

Yes, Obama has emptied the jails of all Black convicts. Are you an idiot or merely a racist? Stop and frisk is still going on in New York and Blacks are still targeted in the War On Drugs the same as before. Obama’s being president has not changed the basic facts of life for young Black men in this country. A Black man driving an expensive car is still presumed guilty by many police officers, and a young Black man walking in a middle class neighborhood is still presumed a criminal by the Zimmermans of the world. Can you in any manner “think” the incident in Florida would not have been entirely different had Trayvon been white? First, Zimmerman wouldn’t have been suspicious of him. Secondly, the police would have investigated the shooting immediately. Too many police, particularly in Florida, look at the shooting of a young Black man like the shooting of a pit bull – presumed dangerous.
This problem goes way beyond Zimmerman and his self defense claims. Racism is not about Bull Connor anymore but about the subtle assumptions people make every day. And when those assumptions are made by police or vigilantes like Zimmerman, the results can be deadly. My teenage son has Black friends who are no different from him but they are perceived differently. One of his friends was recently approached by a man in a car asking what he was doing when all he was doing was riding his bike in his own neighborhood. A white kid might have told him it was none of his business. If a Black kid said that, it might get him shot. That’s the difference.

  • jdn

I see last night the peaceful protesters in California were beating people on the streets and those waiting at bus stops . Nope no hate crimes here . I do feel sorry for the decent black folks who will suffer when America has had enough .

This has put our race relations back by 50 years. In the words of a famous philosopher “Can’t We All Just Get Along”

“Can’t We All Just Get Along?”

Nope. Because there ALWAYS will be barrys, holders, sharptons, jacksons, maxine waters, sheilas jackson lee, fredericas wilsons, harry reids, pelosis, Associate Professors like Anthea Butler, ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC…
List goes on and on and on.

From the beginning of the GZ’s case the WHORE MSM invested all its assets in the White Race “GUILT” verdict. But they lost and lost big.

            I promise.

Rodney King – it was so long ago, and at that time I did not follow news. [My excuse :>)]

          • Bill

The sad reality is that Rodney King was not very long ago. Everyone forgets how the police left the Korean community to fend for themselves and the only way they kept their homes and business’s from burning was armed vigilance.

This could happen any day again. The lefts failed economic policies are creating more thugs and we need to remain armed to protect ourselves. The Zimmerman decision just reinforces the fact that we need to have the right to bear arms to protect ourselves from all of the thugs

      • Nadzieja Batki

You are doing the talking Bill, so you in effect are giving command and demanding that we all get along which will actually have you becoming like the thugs you detest. You are taking authority over us.

        • Bill

I was quoting Rodney King and being sarcastic. Take a chill pill

  • Bill

Anyone with half a lick of sense can see that obamma, the media and his cronies have used this situation to their advantage. The only question is, for what purpose. Obviously not for the benefit of the American people

  • TJ

Where are the race baiters? Oh they’re out there. But this young mans death doesn’t fit the definition of a hate crime since it is most likely an “Intra-racial” incident. Black on black, white on white, etc. How can it be fodder for the race baiters? No hate crime here. Just an unfortunate incident where a young man refused an unrefusable offer for gang membership. Didn’t this young man know the rules that govern gang land Chicago? This independent organization has rules. By laws, if you will, a constitution that has clearly stated rules for local “citizenship.” If citizenship is offered, you MUST accept it and live under all the laws that govern said citizenship. This young man just became the unfortunate victim of his own ignorance. How sad.

    • Jeff

Gang violence is horrible and it is fed by the proliferation of guns throughout the country. Chicago’s strict gun laws are meaningless so long as guns can be brought in from the rest of the country. Gang bangers get their guns from the same stream of commerce as everyone else. Whether a gun is purchased or stolen, it started off “legal.”
The difference between a gang shooting and a kid getting shot for walking in a middle class neighborhood is the sense of entitlement. The gang member who killed that kid in Chicago is a criminal. He will be brought to justice either in court or on the street. No one is justifying his shooting of that kid in the way police and vigilante shootings of unarmed Black kids are “justified.” Go see “Fruitvale Station.”

      • Nadzieja Batki

You get more ridiculous with each of your comments, so is it stupidity or deliberate stupidity on your part? How is it we haven’t seen all the guns on the shelves of gun stores or at gun shows or in people’s homes, etc., jump up and start brandishing themselves and causing mayhem and death.

        • Jeff

I’m sorry, I’m just not responsible for your inability to follow a basic train of thought without engaging in wild flights of fantasy. Please take it up with Alondra or someone who shares your predilections.

        • Timothy Sullivan

You are right. I hate to see a comment saying a person was killed “by a gun” when the correct statement would be a person was killed “with a gun BY a person!” It still goes..guns don’t kill people..people kill people.

      • vicki

Gang violence is horrible and it is fed by the proliferation of guns throughout the country.

        Proof by bald assertion.

I do have evidence however that more guns = less crime in the general population. http://www.amazon.com/More-Guns-Less-Crime-Understanding/dp/0226493660

Common sense would tell us this
        http://jpfo.org/articles-assd02/marko.htm
But alas common sense is not all that common anymore.

        • Jeff

There may be an inverse relationship between the number of guns and the amount of shoplifting. I’d be very skeptical of any “study” showing such a relationship involving gun violence. Alas, Miss Vickie, not all “crime” is so fungible.

          • vicki

money is fungible. crime is not.

          • Jeff

Then why use such a generic, weasel word as “crime.” Are you talking about violent crime, white collar crime, what?

          • vicki

Since you brought up “crime” perhaps you should look in a mirror and ask why you brought up a generic, weasel word.

          • Jeff

            Miss Vicki:
I assume you don’t yet have Alzheimer’s, so you probably remember posting how you have evidence that more guns lead to less crime. I responded that may be true for shoplifting but it’s unlikely it’s true for gun violence. Does any of this ring a bell?

      • Don 2

The lethality of the gun is not the issue. It is the psychology of the person holding it. A gun being more lethal than anything else is the whole point. If people are taught to use guns safely and respect them, then when they are used as a lethal form of self-defense, that is when we want them to be just that.

Guns serve as the equalizer. With a gun, even elderly citizens may well be able to fend off an attacker. Violent criminals and gang members are overwhelmingly strong, young males. For them, anything from bare hands to a knife can easily serve as a lethal weapon.

The equalizer provided by a gun applies to women, older men, and disabled Americans who are particular targets for robberies. Only a gun can provide an effective defense for these vulnerable people.

As anyone with half a brain knows, cutting access to guns mainly disarms the law-abiding citizen, and serves to make the lives of criminals much easier.

        • Jeff

“Guns serve as the equalizer. With a gun, even elderly citizens may well be able to fend off an attacker. Violent criminals and gang members are overwhelmingly strong, young males. For them, anything from bare hands to a knife can easily serve as a lethal weapon.”

That may sometimes be true, but those strong young men ten to have powerful guns as well to do battle with other young, strong men. If you intend to do battle with drug gangs with your gun, good luck.

In the old days, the gangsters tended to kill primarily each other. You knew who they were because they had the funny nicknames or Jimmy Cagney played them in the movies. Nowadays, the killing is far more indiscriminate – probably because the crime is not as organized as it once was. If you’re unfortunate enough to live in their neighborhoods, there may not be much you can do other than get out. Having a gun will not help you and will likely hasten your death.

Zimmerman is not a little old lady even if they say he fights like one. He is not using his concealed weapon as a shield but as a sword. He sticks his nose in everybody’s business, knowing he’s backed up by his gun. What gave him the right to question Trayvon? His color? Had Trayvon been white, the story would have been completely different. That’s why the whole “stand your ground” thing is seen as inherently racist. In the vast majority of cases where people will get the benefit of the doubt in a self defense situation, it will be a white shooter of a Black “suspect.”

          • Don 2

“In the old days, gangsters tended to kill primarily each other.” They still do. The black on black murder rate is virtually ignored by the MS media. According to the F.B.I., between 1976 and 2005, the latest years available, 91% of black victim homicides were committed by black offenders.
“That’s why the whole “stand your ground” thing is seen as inherently racist. In the vast majority of cases where people will get the benefit of the doubt in a self defense situation, it will be a white shooter of a Black “suspect.” Wrong! “Stand your ground” laws are inherently defensive, not racist. Stand your ground, or not, where was Zimmerman supposed to retreat to…..into the ground underneath him? By the way, if you’re going to call Zimmerman white, then you better start calling Obama white also.
“What gave him the right to question Trayvon?” Are you re-writing history? Where did you come up with that one?
“In the vast majority of cases where people will get the benefit of the doubt in a self defense situation, it will be a white shooter of a Black suspect.” Again, according to the F.B.I., between 1976 and 2005, 14% of white victim homicides were committed by black offenders. Twice as many as the other way around.

        • Bill

          Good comments Don 2
a good example is the Korean community during the Rodney King riots. The police left them to fend for themselves when their homes and business’s were being burned. They arms themselves to the teeth and saved their community.

      • Bill

        You are wrong Jeff,
Gang violence is fueled by poverty and lack of opportunity. Which is a direct results of the lefts failed economic policies.
With more people out of work, there are more thugs created and supports the argument for our right to own firearms to defend ourselves

        • Jeff

While I disagree with your statement about “the lefts failed economic policies,” I fully agree that lack of economic opportunity is at the root of gang violence. It is interesting that we agree on this as it is a fundamentally “left of center” or materialistic interpretation of human behavior. Generally, conservatives favor a more behaviorist approach, emphasizing social pathology (non-vigilant parents, teen pregnancy, insufficient religion) rather than economic circumstance as the primary explanation of why people do what they do.

I don’t know what leftist policies you’re talking about as we have been cutting back services to the poor ever since the early 80s. We have less of a social safety net than any other Western Democracy, so unless we turn into Mexico, there’s nowhere else to go. The outsourcing of jobs has been a feature of our economy over the past 30 years, a period marked by decreased unionization and increased stratification of wages. Corporate profits are through the roof; middle class wages are stagnant; and the lower class is essentially forgotten. We’re still living in the Age of Reagan.

          • Bill

You obviously did not live through or have any cognizant awareness during the Reagan years. Or you work a job for someone else and you have no clue on how to run a business. It is very narrow minded how you have already categorized me into what political opinion that you think I have.
Your knowledge of economics is so limited that I see no reason to discuss economics with you

          • Jeff

Well, it’s not exactly an MMPI but your post mentioned “the lefts failed economic policies” so that gave me a clue you’re a conservative. Most conservatives, particularly on these blogs, are sure that pure free markets are the way to go and that all regulation is unnecessary. I’ve heard it all before and while I don’t have a Ph.D. in Economics from Glenn Beck U, I have a pretty good understanding.
How do you feel about reinstating Glass Stegall?

          • Bill

Do you know what a GDP is and what it indicates as far as economic health?

          • vicki

I shouldn’t lead the witness but I will say that GDP denominated in paper currency is a bit misleading.

          • Bill

So, what would you use to judge economic health?

          • Jeff

If Bill Gates walks into a homeless shelter, the average person there might be worth $100 million, but the homeless aren’t any better off. We’ve had a system since the early 80s that has favored investment over work with the result being a relatively few very rich at the expense of the middle class. If you think that result has not come about due to deliberate actions by our Government in tax policy, trade policy, and banking policy, you’re kidding yourself. And yes, Jackoff, I know what the freaking GDP is. I also know it doesn’t tell you nearly as much about the health of a society as you think.

          • Bill

So, now you result to name calling and typical liberal diatribe. You sound like a little girl
I’m done here, I have a business to run. I will be thinking of ways that I can get richer and kick sand in the face of wimps like you

          • Jeff

If you want to explain your advanced economic theories, go right ahead, but don’t ask insulting questions. I haven’t seen a single factual assertion in one of your posts.

          • Bill

            Jeffy
It has nothing to do with theories. The facts are that your buddies have kept the economy in a very lackluster state with the GDP running in the 1 – 2% range. That is pathetic and surely not a recovery.
In Reagans third year in office, after Jimmy Carter left the economy with numbers of less than 1% GDP,10% unemployment, 15% inflation and 21% mortgage rates, Reagans GDP numbers were running in the 6-7% range after three years in office.
Your Buddies are running less than 2%GDP after five years. So, is what we are experiencing now economically, your version of an economic recovery?

          • Jeff

And what of the growth under Bill Clinton? Obama’s efforts to revive the economy have been stymied by the refusal of the Republicans to participate in governance. Every Republican president in recent history, when emerging from a Recession, has increased aid to the States so they could avoid laying off teachers, police, fire fighters, etc. Under Obama, such spending has decreased because the Republicans would rather see the country fail than see Obama get the credit for any success. That fact is amply demonstrated by the Republicans’ (particularly Paul Ryan’s) hypocrisy when it comes to stimulus spending. In 2002, he was all for it because he wanted W to get credit for an economic boost he knew would follow. In 2009, not so much.

          • Bill

So, no comments about your lackluster GDP numbers?
You are just talking liberal diatribe, no facts and figures

          • Jeff

I know you want to compare them to what they were in the 80s, but what about the 90s? And you can call what I say whatever you like; it’s still true. If Obama were not restrained by a hostile Congress, the growth numbers would be better. How much better I can’t say but certainly things are better than they were the previous 8 years. How many jobs were created under W? And how many under Clinton?

          • Bill

            Jeffy
You are just showing your ignorance. You probably are a unionized public sector employee.
I see a Detroit like bankruptcy in your future

          • Jeff

You know a lot for a semi-literate right winger. Unfortunately, the things you know for certain just ain’t so.

          • Bill

so, for lack of intelligent argument, you resort to name calling

          • Jeff

I’m so sorry. I just didn’t detect any signs of intelligence in your previous post. Now tell me how this is not name calling:

            “Jeffy
You are just showing your ignorance. You probably are a unionized public sector employee.
I see a Detroit like bankruptcy in your future”
Go back to running your shoe shine stand.

          • Bill

            Little Jeffy
So you consider being called a unionized public sector worker name calling? See , we agree on something

          • Jeff

Whatever. I’ve still seen nothing of substance from you – just insults. Typical. I can tell you’re a regular titan of industry. Go back to your lemonade stand.

          • Bill

            Little Jeffy,

You are becoming so vehement in your comments. It is starting to amuse me. I will probably take my lemonade stands and shoeshine stands and franchise them. That way I can create jobs for people with the same mental capacity as you.
Repeat after me: “Would you like fries with that lemonade, sir”

          • Jeff

I would come to work for you, but in my experience right wing bosses don’t like to provide healthcare. I hear Jay works real cheap. Just a handful of bird seed and he’s set. Just pretend he’s an illegal.

          • Bill

You are right, you probably could not handle it. Besides, illegals have a much higher work ethic than you do.
My lemonade franchises are going to be the best. I will make the best lemonade you ever tasted, made with the highest quality ingredients, sold for the best price and manned by employees that know how to create the “Starbucks” experience.
You would not fit with that business mode because you would have an attitude towards the customers and you would whine like a mashed cat if you had to do any work.

          • Jeff

            My God, you’re psych(ot)ic!

          • Bill

            Jeffy,
I want to hear some more of your business ideas, maybe we can think of some more ways to save money keep more business’s from failing.
By all means we want to avoid the “Detroit experience”, which is the ultimate outpoint of the democratic philosophy

I think the lemonade thing can work. Maybe get some of that Bill O’Reilly MFing Lemonade.

I note you want to follow the Starbuck’s business model. Interesting choice given that Howard Schulz agrees with me far more than with you. And he’s hardly the only successful businessman who supported Obama rather than the Repugs. Another is a guy who’s nearly as successful as you pretend to be – Bill Gates.

          • Bill

I thought you were mad a Bill Gates because he did not give enough of his money to the poor? By the way, what are you personally doing to help the poor besides encouraging the government to steal other peoples money.A famous philosopher once said “You are not only a Dummy, you are a Big Dummy”

          • Bill

            Jeffy,
The Starbucks business model has nothing to do with politics, just business. Something you know very little about.

          • Jeff

But you would agree Howard Schulz and Bill Gates know something about business, correct? Maybe even as much as you? Did you inherit your father’s hardware store? Is that why you have so much time to blog your right wing nonsense?

          • Jeff

What are you doing? You’re the big time industrialist and I’m just a minimum wage worker, right? My son has some friends who periodically have no place to live and they stay with us. I know that doesn’t compare to the hospital wing you donated, but we all do what we can.

          • Bill

            Jeffy,
The more I think about, that is a great idea you have there, Jeffy. Because your buddies are trying to pass an amnesty bill that will make illegals somewhat legal but it will exempt employers from paying for Obamacare for illegals. So I could hire illegals, legally, and not pay for Obamacare. Brilliant, Brilliant, Brilliant!!!

  • Judicious

The white-NEGROID racial hate mongers, Obama and Holder, are fomenting white-HISPANIC racial strife to use as a bludgeon to advance their own insidious agenda. They are traitors and must be impeached and removed!

DID NOT YOU KNOW THAT OUR GOD IS A WHITE RACIST god WITH GUN?

Anthea Butler, Associate Professor of Religious Studies and Africana Studies after Zimmerman’s NOT guilty verdict concluded:

“As a black woman in an nation that has taken too many pains to remind me that I am not a white man, and am not capable of taking care of my reproductive rights, or my voting rights, I know that this American god ain’t my god.”

“As a matter of fact, I think he’s a WHITE RACIST god with a problem.
More importantly, he is carrying a gun and STALKING young BLACK men.”
    http://www.examiner.com/article/university-of-pennsylvania-professor-god-is-a-white-racist

Well, now you know that American ‘god’ is a WHITE RACIST god with a problem. And be aware – he is carrying a GUN and thus he is an ANTI-Gun Control.

People, now you know what IQ you need to be an Associate Professor in
      the American Universities.

      The classification system:

“IDIOT” – the lowest mental level (less than three years old child)
and referred to the IQ 0-25
“IMBECILE” – the mental level of three to seven years old child; IQ 26–50
“MORON” – the mental level of seven to ten years old child. IQ 51–70

In my opinion she is below than “MORON”.
And It means that an Affirmative Action at work.

P.S. Do not label me “Racist”. I JUST report the FACTS.

      • Jeff

        Aloonie:
No one need label you anything. You’re doing fine by yourself.

        • http://cowboybyte.com/ Alondra

I am sure I do. And precisely that is Peeving and Infuriating you, Jeffry.

Bill: “Can’t We All Just Get Along?”

Nope, the UnJustice Department has ignored the constitutionally binding innocent jury verdict and is attempting have the “RACIST” and LEGAL Hispanic U.S. citizen George Zimmerman tried again.
