John Kerry Refused Permission To Visit Iran

January 6, 2010 by

John Kerry refused permission to visit Iran Legislators in Iran have rejected top Sen. John Kerry’s (D-Mass.) request to visit the country, the media have reported.

According to TheHill.com, Iranian media have said that Kerry, who is the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, had submitted an official request to visit Tehran as an emissary.

Iran’s Fars News Agency has quoted Zohreh Elahian, a member of the parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, as saying that "The Islamic Republic of Iran has no plans to negotiate with any American official, unless [the U.S.] changes its policies," which was quoted by TheHill.com.

The Iranian news source also said that Parliamentary Speaker Ali Larijani advised Kerry to end America’s hostile policies toward his country, particularly regarding the nuclear issue.

When questioned by journalists, the senator’s spokesman, Frederick Jones, said no trip to Iran was planned at the moment.

The United States and Iran broke off diplomatic relations in the wake of the Iranian hostage crisis during which 53 Americans were held hostage for 444 days from 1979 to 1981 at the U.S. embassy in Tehran. The two countries have held no bilateral talks for the past 30 years, but after his inauguration President Obama suggested he was ready to start talks on normalizing the relations.

However, last September Obama, Prime Minister Gordon Brown of Great Britain and President Nicolas Sarkozy of France alleged Iran has covert plans to build an enrichment plant about 100 miles outside of Tehran, according to The New York Times.

Kerry, Kerry, Kerry! What were you thinking? Even the Iranian people don’t want to talk to the Mullahs. Don’t you watch the news? Sometimes? I mean, come on!

    • BOE

Oh shoot!! I was hoping they would keep him for awhile..you know like a few years like the Americans they held hostage.

  • http://n/a Roy Simmons

John Kerry is the wrong person to Iran they had rather their brother
Obama come you know one muslim talking to another

    • Joe H.

      Roy,
send him!!! We DON’T want him!!!

  • James Sheehy

Well, here we go again: Kerry, the fake Irishman, went to North Vietnam to “negotiate” with this country’s enemys. Now he wants to do the same in Iran but even the Iranians don’t want anything to do with him. The name Kerry might be thought to signify generations of Irish ancestry, but in fact his paternal grandfather, a Czech Jew named Kohn, picked it out of an atlas. ‘Course, that’s not what he tells the gullible voters in the Peoples Republic of Massachusetts.

    • joy

Kerry is a liar and a faker. They must know that.

      • celtic woman

I agree I was a little girl about 10 yrs when he pursuaded all his army buddies to throw thier medals away in protest and yet he held onto his and threw only ribbons, what a loser and a coward.I think everyone is catching on to what a fake he is …then again almost all politicians that have been in too long are fake.

  • realbigal

It would be nice if the Communists in Iran would do us a favor and take John Forbes Kerry-Heinz and keep him. He is the true prototype of an arrogant elitist who wants to tell all the “common folk” how they must live their lives, and how they must worship the “beautiful people”. When will the general public be told the truth by the Establishment Media — the present day Undemocratic Party lives off the power trip of stealing from the poor to give to the rich (especially the rich who promote socialism)? And far too many Republicans aren’t much better.

    • BOE

..you are right about socialism. Kerry was homeless for a while until he met the Heinz widow. But the worst is that they have donated 8.7 million dollars, along with George Soros and other very wealthy people to the Tidewater Foundation. Google the Tidewater Foundation and read what and who it involves. He is not fit to serve.

  • Warrior

Maybe O could appoint a special envoy of Boxer, Pelosi, Frank, Reid et. al to visit the mullahs. Possibly they could be taken hostage. Wouldn’t that be grand.

    • DaveH

No, because Obama would probably buy them back for a couple Trillion dollars.

    • Tinwarble

No, you don’t want that, they would just throw up the white flag & hand over a few nukes for their release. So Iran would have nukes & we’d have them back. I’m not really sure which is worse.

      • Fed Up Gal in NM

        Warrior, Dave H, and Tinwarble,

Too funnnnnnnnnnny and sadly so true!

        Fed Up Gal

      • Joe H.

        Tinwarble,
Think if they threw in O-man they’d keep them????

  • Ray Honsinger

Surely the end of our republic is near.Obama’s fumbled attempt to”set down” with the mullah’s through the stooge Kerry is evidence of that fact.Oh ! for a contemporary Gilbert and Sullivan to set all this pomposity & buffoonery to an operatic score. Multiple generations of “degree’s without grades” has led America to it’s logical end. This disgracefull and dishonorable groveling to tyrants! So sad.

  • Gen.Early,CSA

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has no plans to negotiate with any American official, unless [the U.S.] changes its policies,” I just love that the Mullahs outdo our own socialists in “the debate is over” mentality.I concur that a new hostage incident with Reed,Pelosi,Kerry,Obama, kept in Iran would be the best for America.

  • Schmalz from Wyoming

I really wonder HOW MUCH effort and expense our government would expend trying to get the Phonies back-if they WERE all allowed a visa?
I will begin saying my night prayers that somehow Pelosi, Obama, AND Kerry ALL could end up over there-in a Hostage situation!
Oh Well, it would make for some GREAT dreaming!!
    Don

  • Tinwarble

What Happened!! I thought we were going to have “Hope & Change” we could believe in. I thought when Obama got in office, all these countries were going to open their arms & give us a big old hug, then we would sit around a camp fire a sing Kum ba yah. Weren’t we promised (along with a whole lot of other things, like see bills debated on C-Span instead of behind locked doors), that other nations would respect & like us again. Oh, how bad for Kerry, I guess now he’ll have to say that he was going to Iran, before he didn’t.

  • Raggs

    HEHEHEHEHE!!!!

Too bad the administration won’t learn anything from this.

    • cr747

Well, they will learn a lot after the 2010 election!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Raggs

        AMEN!! to that..
From the look’s of thing’s maybe just maybe they are seeing it already. Well 5 dem’s have dropped out of the race so far let’s just see how many more will follow the lead or be embarrased not able to get backing…

        • David

Yep but I think the Dodds are being told to step down because their replacement has a much better chance of reelection. Hopefully Reid follows. I almost despise him more than pelosi.

      • Dickie

After some of the thives,Take their bribes,And pay offs,And run,Knowing they screwed the american People,Where NOT going to be put back in their money makeing scheames,That the next people elected,The American People are sick and tired of their Selling out the American People,I just hope the Anti- American unions, will give them a job,Knowing there is nothing they can do for them now. They should be ashamed of what they did,But you have to have morials. If we keep electing instead of reelecting,We will find an American with morials, ethics,And Integrity.

  • Michael J.

Sounds like Kerry got “Swiftboated” before he had a chance to “Flip-Flop”. Oh-well, the Iranians would never have fallen for Kerry injecting any Bo-talks into their thinking any how. Bo would have more luck sending Acorn members to distribute copies of rules for radicals.
Just kiddin, after the Iranian goon squad on motorcycles and toting AK47′s took one pass at them, Acorn members would be-headed for the border. Hey, maybe that could work here?

    • Fed Up Gal in NM

      Michael J,

Trying to type this while laughing myself off my chair. You nailed it with your “swiftboat/flip-flop” commentary. Thank you! I so needed this today!!!!!!!!

    • American Citizen

I’ve been saying the “regular Americans” are smarter than all the politicians you can pack into a swiftboat or two. That is, regular Americans who are aware of our country’s foundation and know the Constitution.

  • Jana

Wow, I can see you all don’t think any more of Kerry than I do. I loved all of the comments.
Now I have a new mantra for Kerry from Michael. He got Swiftboated before he had a chance to Flip-Flop. I love it.

  • ONTIME

I never thought I would compliment the Iranians but even they have enough class to know that inviting that treasonus bum onto their soil would cause further contamination of a bad case scenario.

This means that it is possible to threaten Iran by claiming we will put J2FK ashore covertly, by using a torpedoe.

  • Doug

And all this time I thought John was a decent of Big Bird and Miss Piggy!

    • Palin12

Actually, he’s a descendant of Frankenstein

Maybe they will send AL GORE?
He can teach them a thing or two about the climate.
Ya know something on the lines of it gets cold in the winter and expect some snow…. Global Warming….

If it doesn’t teach them anything else it will sure be a hit on how to
    buffalo themselves into proverty.

    • Joe H.

      Raggs,
Maybe Gorebull can put the fear in them by warning them that nuke “plants” bring about global warming. (I mean climate change!! sorry!!)

  • Dickie

You have got to be kidding. And the sad part is,This bafoon realy thinks these people want to talk to him,Hell the American People don’t like to hear him speak.Iran laughs at obama,Where does these clowns come up with this crap. They would probly talk to howard dean,It would mean as much. Why don’t he just shut the hell up, And stay in MASS.Keep ripping those clown off. Iran wants to talk to the clintons,They will give them millons of our dollars. If there is at least one decent person up there,Please,Please keep this bozo quiet,He is an embarassment to America as it is.He just wanted to fly around like the world to be seen,At tax payers expence,The way the obamas do like it is just a ride in the park.Hey if he wants go some where get on one of his wifes jets,And go where he wants to,But for the love of GOD,Not on Americas behalf. He & the other demon’s,Have done enough to us now, And al chicken little gore’s global warming scam,Somebody needs to take gore outside,And let him explane the record breaking frezzing all over the world. These idiots realy think all the American People are stupid,They do have a few lossers following them,But most of us are not that stupid.I would be willing to bet,When Iran told this yahoo,Not to come over there,It did not embarass him even a little bit.He is to stupid to know better,I think it is great.

  • Doc

Kerry is going over there like he marched against his fellow Vietnam Veterans While still on Active Duty. Tuck your tail again,John. You will NEVER learn.

  • eddie47d

Amadidajad is and will be atough nut to crack. I think his anti-jewish comments are disgusting. Istill don’t see anything wrong with sending John Kerry over there. Diplomacy takes alot of time (years).Wars can be started in days and evenin hours. If you don’t like Kerry then find someone more suitable. Just don’t send blackwater! They’ve caused enough trouble.

    • Joe H.

  • Fed Up Gal in NM

Wow….could it be true? Do the Iranians actually have more politcal common sense than our own folks? In this particular instance, I think they might. Kerry couldn’t negotiate his way out of a wet paper bag…unless of course he were selling the U.S. down the river. If this was/is the best the current administration can dredge up to represent this country…we’re in even more pathetic shape than I thought!

        Hey there Liberty,

Well…I took a break while on Christmas vacation. Went to visit family I hadn’t seen in 3 or 4 years. I’ve been back for about a week, but trying to catch up at work and at home on things that piled up while I was gone.

How was your Christmas holiday? I hope you and your family had a very happy and warm celebration.

Well…I’m back now, recharged and ready for the fight! Thanks for your message.

Guess I’m glad now that I’ve not taken a flu shot in the past 3 or 4 years, and god willing I won’t in the future.

        Liberty,

Where have you been? Glad you are back.

  • Niner

If President Bush had not ticked the whole Muslim world off, maybe we could have diplomatic relations with them! America thinks we can promote democracy at the end of a gun and military might! How would out country react if sanctions were put on us for all of the bombs we have? We are such a shallow minded society with a bunch of Neo-cons controlling our foreign policy!

    • Fed Up Gal in NM

      Niner,

So typical of far left liberal thought and (in)action….continue to blame bush for everything, that way the “left” doesn’t have to assume any responsibility.

I personally have no problem with how Bush dealt with the muslim world. At least he stood for something, and like him or not…you pretty much knew where you stood.

Diplomacy was offered/tried numerous times….just how many years do you think we should have continued solely on the “diplomacy” route?

Diplomacy is great when it works, but at some point you just have find your “grit” and take a stand….a real stand…not the belly flop that occuring now!

            Michael J,

Hmmmmm….not so fast cowboy….you did not answer the big question…LoL.

I just drove across the wide world of Texas between NM and La (and back). As many times as I’ve driven it, I still wonder does Texas ever end???????????

If there was a Tea Party goin’ on when I was driving through Texas…I would have stopped for sure…and probably met you there…LoL.

Guess we better get back to the discussions at hand, lest the FLL’s ask Obama to regulate us…ha ha ha.

Hey there Gal, that big question you talked about, where you asked “are you????”. Welll, no I am not but, I am attached to a lovely lady that I don’t deserve. Last thing I wanted was to hurt any ones feelings so I hope you will accept my apology.
Besides, a young philli like you don’t need an old tramp that looks like Merle Hagard and sounds alot like David Alan Coe.
You are right about Texas, riding I-10 from east to west is longer than a eight year Obama administration and just as full of holes.
P.S. I don’t own a long legged prairie dawg either.

          • Fed Up Gal in NM

            Hi Michael J,

This message is in reply to your 09 Jan (6:05pm posting)…Not sure if it will post in the correct order, as there was no “reply” button.

Well….you must be a real gentleman to display such respect to the lovely lady that you claim you do not deserve.

Regarding Texas, I actually like the state….just don’t like driving from one side to the other ….seems to take forever. You’re I-10 analogy is funny and likely very true.

No apology needed; not sure why you feel you needed to offer one. We were just interjecting a bit of fun and laughter into a somewhat lively and potentially heated debate. I am however, a bit disappointed to hear you don’t own a long legged prairie dawg……I was so looking forward to the arrival of such a creature…LoL!

I keep reading folks’ comments where they say something about keeping the powder dry. I don’t really understand that comment, but I assume it’s meant to add a bit of humor…???? Sooooooo, I’ll just say have a great upcoming week…..and hope you stay recharged for the continual battle.

    • Joe H.

It worked pretty well for a long time before the Dems screwed that up too!!!

    • BOE

Niner this problem did not start with Bush..Remember the hostages when Carter was pres? A democrat. Then the muslims came after us again with Clinton in the white house with the first World Trade Center bombing.Remember? And let`s see..oh and there was the dragging of our soilders bodies thru the streets in Somalia. Remember? Yeah Clinton again. And then the bombing of the USS Cole. Clinton again. Bush is the only one who had the balls to fight back and start defending our troops, our people and our way of life.(words removed for offensive content). 9/11 could and should have been stopped by Clinton. Bush kept us safe after that. Obama has been in office 1 year and we have had 3 attacks so far.

    • BOE

And another thing Niner how the hell can you have a diplomatic discussion with people who cut people`s heads off? How can you sit down and have tea with people who by law can kill their wife, will not allow girls to go to school, can not go outside by themselves, women are not allowed to drive a car,or allowed to dress without being covered up. How can you chat with people who allow rape? Then punish the poor girl, because she brought shame to her family. Are you nuts?? Do you think muslims are people you can sit with over coffee and solve the horrific treatment of women..and men?? You make yourself look stupid..or just a typical welfare recipent..gov. property.

      • Joe H.

        Boe,
yeah just look at that little girl from Ohio that converted to Christianity from Islam!!! She ran to Fla. to escape her father as he had threatened to kill her!! The liberal judges gave her back to her parents!!! Can you believe that??? If anything happens to that little girl then the judges that gave her up should be put in jail for a long time!!!! What do you think that girl thinks of our justice system now? talk about crazy!!!!

    • Tinwarble

      Niner,

You must be as crazy as Amadidanutjob if you think that your freedom hasn’t been protected by those evil bombs you so despise. You think that you can have some sort of diplomacy with a bunch of homicidal dictators, try telling that to those people killed in the genocide being committed in Uganda, or try telling that to someone who was a Holocaust victim. Why don’t you go try and tell the nearly 3 million people killed by the communist in Vietnam, Laos & Cambodia after we withdrew from the Vietnam War & those still being killed today. You espouse your hatred for war, the military & bombs, but forget that it was by war, the military & bombs that gave us the great country that we have. That is was by war, the military & bombs that we freed Europe, twice, & that through the power of the military & those machines of war that you are free to express your views, no matter how warped they are. The only thing that the tyrannical Muslim leaders & the other homicidal dictators of the world understand is the power of the sword. And the US is, & God willing always will be, the tip of that sword. You should be careful that you don’t cut your on throat as you try to turn that sword into a spoon.

    • coal miner

      Niner,

I agree with you.George Bush was after the oil and he didn’t care who gets hurt.It is their land, not ours.We are the occupiers. If it was reverse we would be doing the same thing. We need to end the war and bring our kids home now.You are absolutely right, but arguing with these mental giants is futile. You are right.

      • Michael J.

Right, Right, I guess next you’ll be telling us that Bush and Cheney flew the planes into the twin towers but parachuted to safety just prior to impact.

        • Tinwarble

Don’t you remember they did it by remote control!!
I guess that Bush & Cheney were really dumb then if all that they wanted was oil. It would have been a lot cheaper just to lift the sanctions that we had on Iraq & buy the oil then going to war. And what about all those years we spent defending the Shi’ites in the south & the Kurds in the north from Saddam. Those big dummies.

          • Joe H.

            Tinwarble,
yeah you are so wright and we got soooo much oil from the Iraqi pipeline!!!!! No oil, no payments for protection, and no respect from the lefties for protecting them!!!!

        • coal miner

          Michael J. Bufoon,

George Bush is worse,he is responsible for thousands being killed.

You use typical radical leftist rhetoric. Grow up.

          • American Citizen

The ones doing the killing are not our soldiers. Hundreds of thousands had already been killed before we ever went in. The job of a soldier is not to kill but to stop the killing.

you know, coal minor, my eyes are crap and I went in during Nam without any problem! I know guys that wore bifocals that got in!!! I even know one guy that got in with burn scars over his arm to the point that he couldn’t raise his arm above his shoulder!! The Army even put him through a few surgeries to correct that problem!!! I even flew as a crew chief and door gunner in choppers.

          • Fed Up Gal

            Hey Coal Miner,

First….here’s a peace offering: I will (take my foot out of my mouth) IF you will remove your feet from your mouth.

Second….Maybe I missed it, but I don’t recall anyone calling you “unpatriotic”…..I do recognize however, that your grand kids are sacrificing greatly for this country (that includes sacrificing so you can spew your anti-Bush/anti-War venom). I hope when you communicate with them, you spend as much time telling them how proud you are of them and how supportive you will be for them, as the amount of time you spend criticizing part of what their service stands for.

Third….What does your being 79 have to do with the price of tea in China?

            Coal Miner,

            Follow-up thought:

Here’s an article that pretty much summarizes my feelings about war, most if not all politicians, the far left “citizenry” and the apathy and “what’s in it for me” attitude of many of our youth these days (and apparently some older folks). I found the article on Personal Liberty’s site ( “straight talk”) and believe it was posted in May 2009.

            http://www.personalliberty.com/chip-wood/ive-got-to-tell-you-im-tired/

I don’t blame the youth….I blame the parents for abdicating their own responsibility to society in teaching kids self-responsibility and for not letting the kids fall and pick “themselves” up…but teaching them to wait…because society will pick them up each and every time.

I don’t expect you agree, but thought I’d just clarify my thoughts.

Coal Miner, My first response to your post was an atempt to make light of your silly comments. Now that you have seen fit to call me a bafoon, I will take apart your left wing parrotted dillusions piece by peice.
        You said: Bush after oil
Where is this oil that Bush was after? Did he take it back to his ranch in Texas or is it freely flowing and paying down the debt of the Iraqi people so they for the first time can begin to build a new life?
You said: It’s their land, not ours
Bush re-created the sovreign state of Iraq for the people of Iraq, not us.
You said: End the war, Bring the Kids home
Bush stated repeatedly that we would not be in Iraq one minute longer than need be. We remain there now at the request of the newly formed Iraqi government.
You said: Arguing with mental giants is futile
This is the one part of your post I cannot find fault with.
Suggestion:Monitor and digest multiple news sources which will allow you to form better conclusions.
P.S. If you continue to march to the beat of the Manipulating Muslim Messiah you may find yourself drowning in the water that he walks on.

          MichaelJ,

Over seventy five percent of the Arabs in Iraq want us out of their country.A real solution was propose to divide Iraq into five different countries. The war would end quickly, but our great president George draft dodging Bush was against it.I am not from the left.I am a moderate.I voted for Nixion. He was about the only president I ever trusted.

          • Joe H.

            coal minor,
get off the MSM stations!!! Bush was not a draft dodger!! He was in the guard, which is more than you did!!! Your hero Clinton was the draft dodger!! He actually demonstrated against the U.S. on foreign soil!!! Get real with your info!!!

          • Jana

Coal, I think your bad eyes have influenced your bad judgments. You have used excuses to not serve your country all of your life. You have a lot in common with Kerry.

          • Michael J.

Coal Miner, I respect your right to be wrong. let’s leave it at that.

What a crying shame the Iranians wont see Kerry. I know he would have gotten his fouth purple heart after the visit. He would have cut himself shaving again and Obama would have made sure he got another medal. He’s such a courageous soldier.

LoL funny, if it were not so sad but probably true.

You didn’t read my post correctly. That was when I was young and eye surgery wasn’t very advance. We went for years driving cars without licenses and when everybody had to take the test,I flunk the eye drivers test twice. On the third try,I finally past it.I don’t think they draft people in the marines.I tried to join, but was turn down.I wanted to make it a career. So don’t start that bull s***t that I am not patriotic. It makes you look like a bunch of red necks.

    • Joe H.

      coal minor,
Sorry but I call what I see. If you were so interested in joining and making a career of it, did you try the Army? Navy? Army Air corp? I don’t smell what you’re cookin’!!!

A friend’s mother is 80+ years old and about 3 years ago she had one of her eyes surgically removed due to an injury. She has limited vision in her “good” eye, but still managed to pass her driving test to renew her driver’s license. Initially, her children were against her driving, but they now say that she does very well and they are not afraid to ride with her or meet her on the road.

Coal Miner…Okay now…don’t shoot the messenger; it’s just what I’m told. Also, I am truly sorry about your problems with your eyesight; but I think you may have missed Joe H’s point.

            Gal,

My wife does most of the driving now. She is lot younger than me.I wish I could see the day we can reverse aging. We could cure didbetes and blindness. The first thing I would do is join The United States Marine Corps. That had always been my dream and life ambition.

          • Fed Up Gal in NM

            Coal Miner,

This is in reply to your 09 Jan (5:00pm) posting.

I understand. Yes, I think most of us would agree….reversing aging would be great, and curing diabetes, blindness and many other illnesses/diseases would be even better.

I commend your lifelong dream and ambition to serve in the military. I am interested to know however; what would you have done if you were able to join and were serving during time of war (any war, not just a war you personally believed in)?

            Fed up Gal,

Every since I was a child,I always wanted to be in the marines. When we were kids my brothers and neighborhood kids played army.We had wooden sticks for rifles and pistols,we get behind trees and hills shoot at each other.Although I would’t have the money as a marine as I do now.I got a healthy retirment from the coal mines.I believe our country, our people, our factories comes first. If I can help it I buy american.I am a devout union man and we are giving technology to countries who one day could possibly destroy us.Serve my country and buy American made products(preferably union made)but not necessarily. Have a good day

Coal Miner, I can understand your problem with poor eyesight. I am at the present going to eye doctors. I just finished with the Eye Institute for my right eye. Fortunately, they were able to bring back most of the vision. Now I can get scheduled for cataract surgery.
Of our six children, two served in the military, our oldest in the Navy for 9 years and the oldest daughter as a career Army Nurse. They are both now retired vets. Our son still works for the Navy but not allowed to tell us what he does. Our daughter works in a hospital. I prayed a lot while they were serving and, fortunately, nether was ever in a combat zone. Our son started in the nuclear sub program, got out of it after a few years and was put on a repair ship and sailed the world. Our daughter ended up as a Major in charge of the nursing staff and also got to visit some foreign countries. My husband is an army vet and we have had uncles, cousins, a son-in-law and nephews in the military. We are very familiar with what it takes to serve and are proud of all of them. Freedom s not free, it’s bought with blood.

It appears from reading some of these posts on this site that Americans will or do not want to unite for the good of America. Americans must present a united front against the politicians. I believe this is the only way we are going to take our country back. Divided we fall, united we stand.

    • Fed Up Gal

You’re right Claire (about presenting a united front); however, the problem is no one can agree on which or if there is a politician with integrity all of us can support…one side thinks the polyannas….I mean politicians are the cat’s meow….and so does the other side. Hmmmmmm….just seems to bring us back full circle.

      Fed Up Gal

      • Claire

I don’t believe either party has much integrity. I have not seen much wisdom presented from either side. They spend too much time lambasting each other. A united front is the only way we can take America back.

        • Fed Up Gal in NM

          Claire,

Again…you’re right, but still brings us full circle. If we were all united, this web blog probably would not exist.

            Fed Up Gal in NM,
You said it right lady, thanks!!!

            Claire,
You know I support your feelings so I won’t say more except to say be well!!!

        • American Citizen

The problem is, when policies are not what is best for this country, we will never be truly united. As long as you have people with different viewpoints, there will always be friction. In a way, that’s healthy. But when this country is attacked, it’s like family. I can hit my brother, but don’t you dare. We become united in a hurry. Just look at what happened after 9/11.

  • eddie47d

Diplomacy and giving in are two different elements. No one is surrendering ,and no one changes without diplomacy. The more we bomb muslim nations the more jihadists rise up. Diplomacy is like bad medicine, but it usually works.

    • coal miner

      eddie,

Not just diplomancy, start dividing what is now,Iraq, into five different countries.I don’t think Bin-laden is alive,if he is,we can hunt him down by using a well train special forces.Either capture him or kill him.

  • eddie47d

Whether you like it or not John Kerry proudly served his country.John Kerrywas also wounded in Vietnam. If you want to joke about it then I say you are the ones with the problem. Whether someone who serves has a minor wound or a loss of limb they deserve a purple heart. There are no gray areas here and some of you are insulting on this issue. 80% of all Vietnam-era vets never saw combat, many never sat foot in Nam. That doesn’t mean they didn’t serve their nation or the war effort. They are all equal in putting their country first. Those who actually served in combat deserve more respect and compassion and that includes John Kerry. The Vietnam War was extremly unpopular. The fact that John Kerry spoke out against that war does’t make him any less patriotic. Matter of fact he had the courage to expose the way the war was fought. He also fought long and hard for returning veterans; especially V.A. benefits ,the damage of agent orange orange, ptsd, and many other issues. Exposing Americas atrocities and making someone accountable is a sign of an extremly patriotic man. We live in a decent country and John Kerry is a decent person . You may not want to here the truth about the horrors of any war ,but don’t deny the right for anyone to speak out against it.

    • Fed Up Gal in NM

      Eddie47d,

Ok, you have a point about showing compassion for all who served (those with and those w/o service related wounds or injuries).

I searched your message to find your compassionate side for George Bush who also served (in the Guard, not on AD…but he still served)… I didn’t find any mention of him in your message.

I understand you believe John Kerry is a decent person. You may be right; only God knows for sure. My thought is just because John Kerry says something…does not mean it is automatically true. Kind of like Jane Fonda….I believe at one time she may have even half-heartedly apologized for her actions when she protested against the VN war and in my opinion treated our soldiers terribly. I believe she only apologized because of what she felt was bad press coverage; she’s flip-flopped so often, it’s hard to tell for sure.

Again, you do make a valid point about the injuries and you’re as entitled to your opinion as I and others are to ours.

Just be careful; don’t walk to close to any mirrors, else you might be surprised what you see.

At least the Iranians know him for who he is!

It’s impossible to deal with people who are so fanatical on an issue, they will never come around. They are so sure they’re right, they’ll give you all kinds of grief to prove they’re right. That Aminibad to a T.

  • Korean War Vet

    Fed Up Gal:
After reading this line “I searched your message to find your compassionate side for George Bush who also served (in the Guard, not on AD…but he still served)… I didn’t find any mention of him in your message.” By the power invested in me I declare you a national treasure. So nice, so refreshing to read the words of a true patriot! You go girl!

  • Mark

As corrupt and twisted as Iran is, they know a sour piece of pig feces when they see it. Massachusetts dem-wits ain’t welcome in Iran and we sure as heck don’t need them either, why doesn’t that fool Kerry go visit Ted and stay.
