Joe Biden’s Deceptive Celebration

February 26, 2010 by

Joe Biden’s Deceptive Celebration

Well, once again Barack Obama’s schedule conflicts with mine. The President has announced that he will host a “bipartisan summit” on healthcare this coming Thursday in Washington.

I say “this coming Thursday,” but by the time you read this, it will have been “yesterday.” That’s because I submit this column five days before you read it. So my comments about the healthcare summit—like the one last month, on POTUS’ SOTUS—will have to wait for a week-plus after the event. (In case you’re not up on your Washington acronyms, POTUS’ SOTUS stands for the President of the United States’ State of the Union Speech.)

Every week I write three columns for Personal Liberty Alerts, the wonderful free ezine you just clicked on. Straight Talk (the one you’re reading now) is the lead column every Friday morning. Also on Friday, I write a mini-column called Chip Shots that is the last item on the page. Chip Shots, as the name implies, is a collection of interesting little tidbits from the news. (For example, in today’s effort the first item is the scariest proposal to come out of Washington in a long, long time.)

Then on Wednesday I write another mini-column called This Week in History. This one gives me an opportunity to look back over the past 200 years and select one meaningful event to share with you. For example, two days ago I wrote about “The worst-ever addition” to the U.S. Constitution. Hint: It happened 94 years ago and costs you a ton of money every year. To read it, or any of the past columns, click on the archives tab to the right of this column.

The reason I mention all of this now is that today’s column is about another event in history—the signing one year ago this week of Barack Obama’s $787 “stimulus” bill.

Yes, the White House wants to go all-out to rewrite history about the biggest spending bill in history. It has announced that Vice President Joe Biden and various Federal officials will fan out across the country to speak at numerous rallies that are being staged to “celebrate” this wonderful program.

But what the heck are they celebrating? Sen. Evan Bayh (D-Ind.) said recently that any businessman in this country who has hired one new worker has done more for jobs creation than all of Obama’s hundreds of billions.

When he signed the bill into law 12 months ago, President Obama promised that unemployment would never get above 8 percent. A few months later it passed 10 percent. And even that figure is dishonestly low. It does not include anyone who has gotten so discouraged he has stopped looking for work. Nor does it include anyone who lost a full-time job and was forced to accept a part-time job at much lower pay.

The real unemployment figure in this country is at least double the reported number. And it’s probably much higher than that. But don’t count on Obama and his buddies to tell you the truth.

And don’t expect them to tell you the truth about any jobs that were created, either. A year ago, President Obama fully promised that 90 percent of the new jobs would be created in the private sector. An analysis by The New York Times found “the data suggests that well over half of the jobs claimed so far have been in the public sector.” Isn’t that great? Your tax dollars are being used to make our gargantuan government even bigger.

And how about this? We now know that hundreds of millions of stimulus money was spent to create jobs overseas! Thousands of jobs that the White House claimed to have created are in places that don’t even exist! Plus, USA Today reported recently that billions of stimulus dollars are being spent on programs that are so inefficient or redundant that the Administration now wants to cut or eliminate them.

Please tell us, Joe: What the heck will you be “celebrating” this week?

One more rant and I’ll get off this soapbox. When he signed this odious piece of legislation a year ago, our president declared that the money would be spent on “shovel-ready” programs. Every penny would go to work promptly, we were assured, to patch roads, repair bridges, improve sanitation and otherwise fix our shaky infrastructure.

Today, one year later, only one-third of the stimulus funds have actually been spent. Did you know that? Were you aware that of all the money Congress appropriated for this pork-packed monstrosity, a little more than $500 billion remains unspent?

Barack Obama wants to send Joe Biden around the country, bragging about what a spectacular success the stimulus package has been. And the VP—who has absolutely no problem claiming that black is white, hot is cold and wet is dry, if that’s what his boss wants—cheerfully goes along with the fraud.

But the American people haven’t been fooled. A recent New York Times/CBS News poll reported that only 6 percent of the public thinks the stimulus bill has created any jobs.

Let me repeat that number: Just six Americans out of 100 believe Obama’s $787 billion stimulus bill did what it was supposed to do. No wonder the White House has told its many minions not to use the word “stimulus” any more. Now it’s a “jobs creation” program. Or maybe a “jobs savings” program. At least that’s what Biden and Obama hope it will turn out to be… for them.

Before I get off my soapbox for another week, let me mention one more deceit that President Obama loves to utter. Time after time, he defends his massive deficits and budget-busting spending programs by claiming that he inherited “a trillion-dollar deficit” from President Bush.

No, he didn’t. While I’m no fan of the debt George W. piled on the backs of us poor taxpayers, his last deficit was less than half the total our Dissembler in Chief likes to claim. Here are the facts: The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office reports that George Bush’s deficit for fiscal 2008 was $454.8 billion. While that’s a lot of red ink, it’s less than half of the number Obama likes to use.

To get the higher number, the White House engages in some sneaky slight-of-hand. It adds $700 billion from the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) to the CBO number, thus coming up with a deficit of over $1 trillion.

The problem with that particular bit of chicanery is that the Treasury only spent $400 billion of the TARP funds while Dubya was still in office. The other $300 billion was handed over to President Obama and Treasury Secretary Geithner in early 2009.

And here’s one more little factoid these grand deceivers like to ignore: Most of the funds the Bush Administration paid out have been returned to the U.S. Treasury… with interest.

So if smilin’ Joe Biden comes to your town and hosts a public rally bragging about all the wonderful things the Obama Administration has done to create jobs with your tax dollars, use the information in this report to set the record straight.

After all, that’s why it’s called Straight Talk.

Until next time, keep some powder dry.

we have asked our selves and others where has he created jobs and for who he has not done anything for our country except make history for a black person to be in office and to put the U S in more debt the insurance is a hoax it is to help foreigners so they can get better health care that the United States Citizens does forget about the American workers and I know that there are some that is too lazy to work and they live off of the tax payers but yet there are others that really need it that can not get help with things without having to list their property and other things to me this is not right

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

The jobs he has created, are government jobs, to support the expansion of government that the democrats always make, and who do you think pays for all these government jobs? You and I, the tax payers. We do not need bigger government and more government controls, we need smaller government and less intrusion into the business and private sectors. Growing government is a hazard we cannot afford.

THIS ORGANIZED CRIME GOVERNMENT DON’T CARE ABOUT OUR CONCERNS. NEITHER DID HITLER IN HIS CLAIM TO FAME AND MURDER… WILL WE THE CITIZENS MEET THE SAME END???????

Folks ok here you go, Please all of you do yourselfs a big favor look up the history of Argentina, I know your all saying why?
Time, Why would this be of any help to us now or ever?

I want you all to see the parallels with US here in the USA now and Argentina in 1916, when they were one of the Richest countries in the world, they elected {Hipolito Irigoyer} to run the country under the banner of “CHANGE and HOPE,”

He was followed by Juan Peron, look at what these marvels did, Note every one of Barrys idea’s as well FDR’s ideas.

      Then look at Argentina NOW.

If you still think Barry is doing the RIGHT things after you look over the “great ideas” these two came up with.
All I can say is thats OUR FUTURE here in the United States, do you really wnat it that way?

  • http://donthaveone Beberoni

You cited Evan Bayh above. Let me fill you in on why he quit, which is off subject, but its real. His quitting is a way to distance himself from Obama and these ultra liberal right wing anti American democrats that are controlling the White House and taking this country down the drain as much as they can before they are cermoniously kicked out in 2012, and they will be kicked out. Bayh has future plans to run, but this way he can avoid having what these guys are doing sticking to him, as he will be able to say that this is why he quit, because these guys are so whacked out. And its true, he is right, and they are whacked out. Also, he is smart enough to know that in mass the democrats are going to get voted out all over the country, because all the anti American rhetoric they are practicing has opened the eyes of millions, who arent going to take it anymore. 2012 cant get here quick enough though, as these cats can do a lot more damage in the next 2 years. Pray for these guys, that God will direct their decisions, they need all the help they can get.

    • http://verizon ronalde

Iwill pray for you, because you seem to listening but you can’t hear, and there is that old saying that you can’t see the forest because of the trees, evan bayh was a coward own by big business so instead of going up against them he QUIT,I remember his Father a really good man god bless him for he must be rolling over in his grave because of his weak son.We all need help some alittle more than others.

    • http://firethepartyofno.blogspot.com Rnorman

You say that Evan Bayl quit because of Obama running this country into the ground. What plantet are you on. George Bush and his gang put this country into the ground and are still trying to destroy it. President Obama has done nothing but tried to work with the Republicans, Party of No”, and they still only look out for what is better for them and they are doing a very bad job at that. The Republicans have put this country into two wars that the country should have never been, drove the economy back to the Great Depression, created the biggest financial meltdown of our financial system, and run the automotive industry into bankrupty and drained our money surplus into a trillion dollar debt all within eight years.

How can anyone believe that President Obama did all of that in one year? Why would anyone want to put the Republicans back in office? I know why. They are the same people that are paying the Republicans to spread the lies about the President, the same people that are trying to block Health Care Reform, and the same people that don’t want Wall Street regulated, the insurance companies and banking industry.

      • Eve

RNorman, Obama doesn’t want to ‘work with’ Republicans or the American people. He wants to gain as much power as he possibly can. So many forget his speech in Germany where he proclaimed he would work toward a WORLD government with a World army to keep countries straight. As well as a police force as large as our army to enforce government rule in America. It amazes me that Germans said he sounded like Hitler and asked if American people had gone crazy, yet Americans didn’t take the time to listen to him or demand he give over his past records. He is only doing what he has threatened to do. He strives to create a communist society in America. All this is moot however since the American people will vote but the history books will reveal what a scam artist Barrack Hussien Obama is.

        • buddhamaster

Dear Eve, Please, excuse my ignorance, I seems to have missed that speech President Obama made in Germany allegely about his proclaimed he would work toward a WORLD government with a World army to keep countries straight. As well as a police force as large as our army to enforce government rule in America….

With all due respect, kindly substantiate your sources. I would greatly appreciate your enlightening me.

Of course if you are unable to substantiate your allegations, I would take the matter as very good joke. thank you very kindly.

Budd hamster, All you need to do is look over Barry’s campain speaches all on vidio files, strange some even on (You TUBE,)
where Barry refers to his “PRIVATE POLICE” force as large as
the Army to enforce the law here in the US. Think, Hitler Youth/
Gestapo type format. If thats to hard to grasp just read Orwell’s
1984 that should aid you to grasp the concept.

As well, Barry has spoken countless times about a
“ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT” one would have to be too
stupid to live to have missed at least one of these
speaches. But on that note, so too has GWB, BC, GB.

            So I guess you have either been asleep at the wheel;
or your just one more of the pot stirring Politically
            challenged types.

            So what one are you?

          • buddhamaster

whoa! Orwell’s 1984? I am sorry ‘time’ You seems to be confused with fiction from reality. Please supply links from your sources about BHO’s campaign remarks about the Army size ‘police force’ to control America. Thank you very kindly.

If your are unable to provide the link, I shall assume that you may have got the information from a comic book. budd hamster. Thanks

Budd; “I am not your mommie” do your own work, Its really easy for anyone with some basic gray matter.

If you can’t do a simple task, I take it your not equipped to grasp much of anything, thus I would be tossing pearls before swine.

in reply to your 5:03 post asking for a link to show Obama’s remark about a civillian police force as well equipped as the army, go togoogle and type in obama’s speech about civillian police force?and you will find all kinds of entries even recordings!!!

RNorman, do some homework before you spout NBC,ABC & CBS. The magic number in this whole mess is 2006. The year Pelosi and Reid took control of the US purse strings. History does not lie, until you change the facts to fit your agenda.

      • Time

Rnorman, Wake up and smell the coffee, your arguments are so week they can’t even hold up to a 5 year old.
Barry has done nothing but lie, and spend like he is on a drunken rage.

In 1987 we had a massive melt down that was in far worse than 2008, no one bailed anyone out, and look at what happened it all worked its self out, then along came the 1990′s.

Barry and his CAZARS – Congress and Senate have had the votes to RAM the HCR down the populations throats.
Yet thank God we still have some “TRUE liberals” only in the Congress that said NO DAM WAY.
Oh and these folks are in the Democratic party.

The word LIBERAL is not a bad thing, its true meaning is a very good strong American value as a matter of fact its the core belief of “FREEDOM.”

What has happened is the {PREVERSION} of the word by what can only be noted as “ULTRA MARXIST,” touting themselfs as LIBERAL, they are so far from being a true liberal that again even a 5 year old can see that.

Any one in Government that wants “MORE government controll” is not a LIBERAL, they are a (MARXIST.)
Get your histroy books out and read.

Until then you are welcome to say any mindless things you may wish, thats granted in the Bill of rights, under “FREEDOM of SPEACH,”
But after you wake up you may feel very dumb for ever making such ignorant statments.

        • Rod James

Time, All good points but you can’t call todays government anything butsome type of hybrid containing elements of Marxism,Dictatorship, Communist,Fascist,Corporatism all Masquerading as Democracy.
It is scary to think that very similar financial and political cahotic scenearios existed in the past(hyperinflation, bubbles, busts, recessions freedom curtailments etc) and these led to world war.The US governments actions politically (selling arms to Tiawan,European missle bases etc) just might start a situation that would be beneficial for certain elements to benefit from World War.
History is repeating itself before out eyes.

        • Joe H.

          Time,
If you check, you will find there was another right before that one in 1980. I remember this because it was the year I moved from Michigan to Ohio. the economy in Michigan was so interconnected with the auto manufacturing that when it had problems so did everything else!!! Wasn’t as bad as 87, but might have been the precursor to it!!!

      • usmadgirl

        Rnorman,

Do you actually believe the deception you’re typing? How have you gotten to the point to think the things you say?

You are so ungrateful for Bush keeping us safe for 7 years after 9/11. Do you think Bush was supposed to ignore terrorists killing 3,000 of our citizens like Clinton ignored the first attack on the World Trade Center? Why do you think you have the right to say all the fictitious things you say without somebody beating the crap out of you & putting you in prison or just shooting you? It’s because men & women have fought & died for your right to say them.

The war in Iraq was necessary because Bush & everybody else had reliable ‘intel’ that Saddam had WMDs. Your liberals & leaders around the world said so as well. Just because they didn’t find them doesn’t mean they weren’t there! On July 6, 2008, the Associated Press reported that Saddam had 1.2 million pounds of concentrated uranium & devices that could be used in a nuclear weapon found in Tuwaitha. Sounds like potential WMDs to me! War is not a picnic in the park, but it is necessary to protect our country from people whose sole purpose in life is to kill us – all of us, even you! What do you not understand about that?

And our economy was doing just fine until the Dems took over the House & Senate in 2006. If you want to blame somebody for the financial breakdown, talk to “’Bawney’ the big gay boob” & his ‘wittle fwiends’! Progressives could turn a bucket of gold into donkey poop then try to pass it off on us as “health care or climate change or jobs”!

If you actually believe that Obama has “tried to work with Republicans” then you’ve been living in a cave for the past year! It’s difficult to correspond & interact through locked doors or being told to “sit down & shut up”! If the Republican Party WASN’T the “Party of NO” then we’d be in worse shape than we are now & they’d ALL be fired because about 75% of the American people don’t want any of the “big government” power impositions O-dumbo has to offer & the Repubs are “getting our message”!

Your “pres” can’t even get his OWN party to pass all the idiotic crap he & his progressive thugs are trying to shove down our throats. Remember, YOUR party has the ultimate majority! I guess you forgot that, living in your cave & all & not having access to media! Since you’re typing your comments, you must at least have a laptop so you should do some research to see how uninformed you are.

Since you LIBS are having such a difficult time “fundamentally transforming” THIS country into your “Progressive Utopia”, why don’t you just go the Europe or Venezuela or somewhere that your ideal government is already in place or is your main goal to destroy the country WE love! Or maybe we conservatives & all those evil big businesses that employ people, should just pack up & move to Mexico & start the United States of America over. I hear Mexico has “vacancies” because most of their citizens are already here illegally so you & your “pres” can try to support them & all of you who rely on the government for handouts. Oh, I forgot, you can’t survive without us or the big businesses because you wouldn’t have anybody to “steal” from!

        • American Citizen

He also used WMD on his own people plus our troops found shells in the sand that had traces of Sarin, a deadly poison, on them. He did have WMD, the big question has always been, where is it now?

          • buddhamaster

Ohhh! didn’t you know? Saddam with the wisdom of Allah, in the last minute decided to bury the WMD in the deserts of Iran, Where the U.S. could not possibly go in to find it. They need to invade Iran to do that. So Saddam pulled a good one over the U.S. while the were watching.

          • Time

Budd hamster, WMD, are not just nukes dude, (old Sodaminsane) used gas on his own people, as far as the UN Charter states Gas is a WMD.
So you got any other funny’s?

          • Joe H.

            time,
Didn’t you know Saddam made those Khurds suck on exhaust pipes?!?!?!?
It IS real funny that he should mention burying in the sand, as that’s where they found the spent rounds!!! They also found yellow cake uranium!!! but then, you know how it is, he couldn’t have had WMDs, Barry would know!!!!

          • budd hamster

            ‘Time’
Please, WMD whether your are referring to Nukes, biological Agents, Chemical Agents, or Dog shits for that matter, can be stored in a container and easily buried anywhere. Just apply common sense, or don’t you have one? Don’t need a genius to figure that out.

budd hamster, I love that nickname, thanks for inventing it for me. You are really highly creative. Thank you kindly.

          • budd hamster

            Joe h., Joe h., Joe h.!!!

Fortunately, I found something else to satisfy you objection.

So you do not trust ‘Huffington Post’ or ‘liberal Post’ !

Then please allow me to refer you to the Wall Street Journal.

            http://blogs.wsj.com/economics/2010/02/27/academics-on-what-caused-the-financial-crisis/?KEYWORDS=financial+meltdown

I trust that you do consider the WSJ is competent to report about financial matters, or you would rather reject the report as too bias one way or the other towards the financial banking establishments. Or the report being too technical in nature and don’t want to waste your valuable time on it.

            Budd, Budd, Budd!!!

            ‘Time’

The rationale of bailing out the Bank during the Financial Collapse by the Bush administration was based on the the premise that these Institutions were too big to be allowed to fail (file for bankruptcy, according to Wall Street Pit report as of Dec. 5, 2009 130 banks failed in the U.S.A. during the year 2009) because these institutions are financially interconnected, their failure will lead to total collapse of the U.S. economy and even drive the entire global economy under as well. And so it is cheaper to bailout the banks right away than wait for the collapse of the U.S. economy since it will become prohibitively be much much more expensive to bailout the entire U.S. econmy. Thus the Financial Banks bailout was implimented. So if the government has already invested tax payer’s money $1.7 trillion dollars to the banks and they still need more tax payer’s bail-out, the government can not refuse them can’t they.

            budd hamster

Please ‘Time’ and ‘Eve’ can you please be more specific about when and where BHO made the speech about setting up a police force as big as the U.S. army to police America. Was it during the presidential election campaign or in Germany after BHO assumed the office? A link to a website will be sufficient, Thank you very kindly. if not then I shall assume it is just fiction?

          • Joe H.

            Budd hampster,
No I don’t want to do any of THOSE things, but I will question real hard the sources the WSJ used for the report. One was a past governor of the FED!!! The very participant that made it possible for Obummer to have money printed like wall paper!!! I’m sure THEY would cut their own throats and make a statement critical of themselves!!! that might cut off some of that billions in profits they made last year!!!
All the WSJ had to do with that report was to print what others had said and they weren’t employees of WSJ!!!

        • http://savageheart.blogspot.com/ Silverdrake

Hey, Budd. If Congress had the sense the gods gave a goose, they’d have used that “bailout” money to buy up all the failing mortgages. That would have A) removed the “toxic assets” that were causing the financial meltdown, B) saved the financial institutions from collapse, and C) saved the homes of millions of Americans.

However, it would not have been a huge glob of corporate welfare, which is all that the oh-so-anti-corporate Democrats have sent gushing forth like oil from the Deepwater leak ever since they got their latest stranglehold on political power. It also would not have sent those same millions of Americans into bankruptcy and homelessness where they are easy prey for those same Democrats to woo with “stimulus packages” and other bread-and-circuses pie-in-the-sky utopian promises that never appear. Or do appear and turn out to be yet more ravenous, gluttonous government predation upon the populace.

As much as I despise the Republicans and their corporatist/theocracist agenda, the Democrats have no interest in helping anyone do anything but become slaves to their elitist, power-addicted selves.

Thanks for bring up Biden’s stupidity and the Peter Principle. However, it goes further than that. I lived (35 years)in Delaware where Biden has been a burden for more years than I can remember. Back about 20 years ago, he ran for president! The first mistake he made was trying to fake an ascent from the State of Mass. Yes, he tried to sound like JFK and rumors were started that he was a bastard son of old Joseph (I think that was the elder Kennedy’s name).
Guess what, we citizens of Delaware knew too much about Biden and he didn’t even carry his home state! I have always wondered why the down state people kept re-electing him to the Senate. Obama selected him to counter balance his Socialism I suppose. Not much substance in that man!

    • Nancy from PA T

Life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

People are suffering (and we have huge deficiets) because of what past administrations did: unfunded Drug program for senior citizens, out of control and unfunded spending on wars and overspending for the private medicare plans “Advantage Plans” – What has Obama done? – he hasn’t been able to do anything with legislation getting blocked by the lobbyists (6 insurance industry lobbyists per Congressional person.

Hopefully Obama might get his rear in gear and make the rich suffer a little. You do know that money doesn’t bring happiness. Health effect happiness so shouldn’t the govt support healthcare?

      • Mary in NJ

        Nancy,

You are so misguided. The government is not supposed to worry about your happiness, or your health. They are supposed to stay out of your way so you have the right to happiness, and you are supposed to take care of your self to have your own health. Should we tax payers pay for electricity for all since that makes us happy too? What about government mandated laughing sessions since laughter keeps us healthier? When will you progressives realize what the educated people in America already understand? The government gets in the way of individual happiness and freedom. Wake up!

        • buddhamaster

Dear Nancy, You are obsolutely correct when you say that less government is better than more government, But when less government have directly lead to the biggest financial meltdown by deregulations of financial laws by repelling/removing the legislations that was specifically designed to prevent such scenarios from happening… Then one must go back to square one. Surf to “http://www.huffingtonpost.com/robert-weissman/deregulation-and-the-fina_b_82639.html” for the facts. Deregulation was driven by the insatiable greed of bankers that decided they can also be risks takers to make profits without end by repackaging mortgages backed security to Institutions and Investors. It was a time of easy credits, the Bankers will lend to anyone who wants to buy a home with no background checks or proof of regular income. It was extremely profitable for the Bankers as long as real estate prices keep rising. A real estate bubble was created, fed by the rising real estate prices, Everybody was happy, the lenders were happy, they were making a lot of money, the borrowers were happy, they are living in their dream house, payments are affordable. However the bubble did not last forever, it started to colapse, the mortgage payments reset to unaffordable levels foreclosure becomes a reality, which lead to the biggest financial collapse in history. So clearly regulation of financial laws need be restored. Thus more government interventions.

So you do not trust ‘Huffington Post’ or ‘liberal Post’ !

Fortunately, I found something else to satisfy you objection.

Then please allow me to refer you to the Wall Street Journal.
The link below will take you to the WSJ.

            http://blogs.wsj.com/economics/2010/02/27/academics-on-what-caused-the-financial-crisis/?KEYWORDS=financial+meltdown

I trust that you do consider the WSJ is competent to report about financial matters, or you would rather reject the report as too bias one way or the other towards the financial banking establishments. Or the report being too technical in nature and don’t want to waste your valuable time on it. or that you have more pressing matter to attend to.

            Budd, Budd, Budd!!!

            ‘Time’

The rationale of bailing out the banks during the Financial Collapse by the Bush administration was based on the the premise that these Institutions were too big to be allowed to fail (file for bankruptcy, according to Wall Street Pit report as of Dec. 5, 2009 130 banks failed in the U.S.A. during the year 2009 ) because these institutions are financially interconnected, their failure will lead to total collapse of the U.S. economy and even drive the entire global economy under as well. And so it is cheaper to bailout the banks right away immediately than wait for the collapse of the U.S. econmy since it will become prohibitively be much much more expensive to bailout the entire U.S. econmy. Thus the Financial Banks bailout was top prioirty. So if the government has already invested tax payer’s money ($1.7 trillion dollars) to bailout the banks and the are in need of more tax payer’s bail-out money, the government can not refuse them, can’t they?

            Hey Joe;
Do you think there is a market for hamster pee? Do the liberal socialists snort it or drink it? I’m thinking maybe when the liberals kool aid runs out, we could buy hamster pee from budd, put some grape food coloring in it, and sell it back to the liberals. At the rate that biden, obama and the rest of the libs are swilling it, it won’t be long before there’s a shortage.

      • John

obama hasn’t done anything because he is inept. He is inexperienced his only credentials are as a community organizer… Not to mention his history of political ties and lack thereof.

You people keep bringing up the past. So the stimulus hast’ worked and isn’t working. So if GW is responsible for obama’s inheritance, then how do you explain obama piling on debt, ten-fold, over what he inherited from GW?

This new founded debt, these wars are obama’s. He should have thought of those responsibilities before he ran for office. Now he’s whinning like a baby and blaming the GOP. It’s obvious that he’s in over his head.

And the list goes on, what a bunch of idiots in that administration. And you people are blindly following those fools. Pelosi, Reid, Holder, Bidden, that’s the short list. The facts are overwhelming. I’m sure that DaveH has a repertoire of websites for the facts that you idiots ignore or perhaps you just can’t read or you little minds are beyond reasoning!

Stimulus, we’re going to need another Stimulus just to cover the costs of his healthcare reform that he’s poised to shove down our throats.

      • john

Wow, legislation getting blocked by lobbyists? You certainly don’t have a clue do you?

      • DaveH

“Hopefully Obama might get his rear in gear and make the rich suffer a little. You do know that money doesn’t bring happiness. Health effect happiness so shouldn’t the govt support healthcare?”

No, money doesn’t bring happiness. So, explain to me, Nancy, why do you want to forcibly take the money of others?

        And “make the rich suffer”?
You mean, Nancy, those nasty rich 1% of income earners that pay 40% of the income taxes? Sure we should make them suffer for having the initiative to educate themselves, work long hours, take personal risks that most of us won’t take, and provide real jobs for millions of people. Instead we should listen to you Liberals who have wasted your time and taxpayers’ money muddling through public schools, and then partying your life away instead of making something of yourselves. Now, you want free health care at the expense of the people who are making the sacrifices?

Not only is what you seek immoral (theft), but it doesn’t even work. Country after country has tried the Socialist experiment just to end up in poverty for their whole country. Oh, but at least everyone is equal! Except of course for the leaders who always enjoy the good life no matter how their citizens suffer.

What makes you think that someone who makes more money than you some how they owe you money due to their working just as hard if not harder than you?
Thats outright MARXIST thinking on your part.

The people who make money are not the problem, its GREED and ENVY, combined with stupidity based on the mindless rhetoric you get spoon feed daily by the media, MSN NBC, CBS, ABC, CNBC, MSNBC etc..

Ask someone who works 16-18 hours per day 7 days a week how their life is? You will find they share the same problems you do, they have the same feelings you do.
If we stop the ones who produce everyone will fail.
BIG Government is not the answer its the problem. Ask old Nancy PIGoSEE how much she made last year as I figure it was an cool Billion.

If your not making enough money, get a second job, learn a new skill or trade. Think outside the box.
I have worked for 35 years for 16-18 hours per day 7 days a week, yes I made a lot of money, I also have given a lot.
What I pay in tax’s is down right CRAZY. And I am not the only one who is sick and tired of all the doo do gooders that want a FREE RIDE telling me how I owe them something for their being lazy butt heads.

With all the new tax’s we have had added in the last year, I now work until September just to pay TAX’s for spoon feed Buffoons like you.
I am sick and tired of it.
The numbers are growing of people just like me who are sick and tired of Barry the arrogant pig and all his con artist Thugs. Ask Barry how much of his Baxter stock gains he plans on paying tax’s on, he made well over 9 million dollars last year while you struggled, keep in mind his wife did the same on her Baxter stock, think H1 N1 shots, you sad mindless little person.

When we who produce leave, who will you tax then?

Regarding your comments “Hopefully Obama might get his rear in gear and make the rich suffer a little. You do know that money doesn’t bring happiness. Health effect happiness so shouldn’t the govt support healthcare?”…………………..

While government should facilitate a sound health care objective, it’s not the government’s job to “support” health care…let alone force others to pay higher percentages of their income to such a plan.

There’s enough blame to go around, including the fact that the majority of us are not consistent about our own health care initiatives….you know the ones we have more direct control over….more balanced eating, sleeping, exercise, and spiritual lifestyles. Maybe if we took a more active interest in what we do have control over, those [greedy] insurance folks you referenced would have to find other lines of work.

It’s hard to win over the folks that will have to suck up the additional costs, when we aren’t doing our own part. That seems to be the going theme lately….why should we do it ourselves?…When there’s someone else we can force it out of….like the rich you want to “suffer”. Just wondering if you believe stealing from others…because they have more….will make you happier?

I do hope Obama will get his rear in gear and move on [out of here] and he can take moveon.org with him.

The only responsibility the Federal Government has, constitutionally, is the security of this country. All the rest have been power grabs by those in Congress and the White House.

        • Fed Up Gal in NM

          American Citizen,

Sorry if I wasn’t clear. While I agree with you fundamentally, the point I was trying to make is…how our society has slowly, yet methodically encouraged a victim mentality….even as it relates to our seemingly unwillingness to be somewhat responsible for at the very least…our own basic health conditions (food, nutrition, exercise, and spirituality for example).

I agree about the role of government’s responsibility as you explained it, but I also believe the government could redeem itself somewhat by simply faciliating a sound dialogue allowing a sharing of information about both traditional and alternative health/medicine.

Actually NO, the government should be doing what the constitution says it is to do: Protect and defend our country and its citizens. The constitution does not indicate Health Care, Social Welfare, nor any of the many social programs which have become Entitlements. It does give the citizen the right to bare arms by saying that a militia is necessary and in order to have a militia, the citizen soldier must own and keep his own weapon (arms). That militia was authorized because the government has a tendency to burden the citizens with too much and a revolution is necessary to any free society. Don’t let the anti-gun lobby over power you with a large amount of “words” that the constitution doesn’t give the right to the citizens. Read it yourselves. Most people do not realize that the militia “Is made up of citizens who own their own weapons!” which was how it was done back then. Then British had taken away the private ownership of firearms and those who sot freedom recognized that the American Constitution protected that right. Thousands of them came to America from countries just like Britain. Thousands still come to America for the same reason. Let us not rest while people like Nancy and Harry try to change our Constitution!

        • http://savageheart.blogspot.com/ Silverdrake

The Constitution does not “give” any rights. It merely recognizes and guarantees rights that people have inherently as sapient beings.

And lest some yahoo decide to ask what rights a person has when faced by a mad, hungry bear, the person has the right to do his/her best to kill that bear and take it home to feed the family. Just as ever person has the right to defend his/herself against oppression, enslavement, theft, murder, and every other infringement of his/her natural rights.

The Constitution codifies those rights that all people instinctively know are theirs, while setting forth guarantees that everyone else will respect those rights by force of law. Where we’ve gone wrong is in thinking that some people shouldn’t be allowed to exercise their rights because we don’t like them. Guess what? If you don’t respect my rights, I don’t have to respect yours, and we quickly devolve into Hobbes’ “man in a state of nature.”

But guess what else? We still have the same rights. We have just stopped cooperating by respecting the fact that everyone else has them, too.

Wrong again, it didn’t take 8 years, it only took two as that is when the Democrats took control of the Congress. That is when the progressives made the banks give loans to those who could not afford them and we reaped the benefits of the housing market disaster. Two years, that is all it took of progressive policy to ruin a perfectly good economy. Learn your history.

All the people that have higher seniority than the people from the area get called back first then if there’s anything left, then they call you back!!!!
If you are talking about the mills around Cleveland Oh. forget it it’s a temp call back!!!

    • http://PdersonalLibertyDigest The Buck in Alaska

Clinton didn’t create jobs. What he did was to borrow several hundred million from the Social Security Trust fund, replacing that money with IOU’s which still haven’t been repaid. He used that money to balance a budget, the only one he ever had, and that my fellow Americans is why the Social Security Trust Fund will be broke before most of you will be old enough to receive back the money you have paid into the fund during your working life. In addition, there are millions of people now receiving money from the Social Security Trust Fund who have never worked a day in their life or have never paid a cent into the Fund! Guess what the Trust Fund is our money. We paid into it for 30 or 40 years and we are supposed to get it back at a level we paid into it. When the 20 to 30 million baby boomers retire they will find there is no money in the Trust Fund because the government could not be trusted to keep it safe! Welcome to the 21st century.

  • Teresae

Joe was in Michigan touting how great the stimulus has been for our state.

Now granted they saved the UAW, saved the state, saved the jobs that are sucking the life out of our state – SUCCESS!

Not even the liberal bastion paper had the balls to lead with his story. They (Detroit Free Press, in case anyone cares) have gotten wise, every time they run a story touting how great the Democratic spending is, their readership declines.

What a farce this all is.

One thing the government has been telling us, since Katrina at least, is to “Be Ready.” Most people are ignoring the warnings, thinking that they only speak of hurricanes.

I, for once, am taking the government warnings to heart. Be ready. Whether we want to open our eyes or not, one thing is for certain, the middle class (non-government/non-union) is going down. And life on the other side is not going to look anything like life on this side.

Keep the powder dry, and the water purification/storage at the ready.

    • http://PdersonalLibertyDigest The Buck in Alaska

Right! Putting aside two years worth of food, water and other supplies is a very good idea. However, I don’t think more that 20% of our citizens have the financial ability to do that. I can barely put up two months of supplies and that after working 50 years at reasonably good paying jobs!

I read that Barry inherited a mess from GWB almost every week from someone who is still with “EYES WIDE SHUT.”

Yet has of these persons who suport Barry ever stopped to think about the utter mess Barry and his CZARS as well the Congress and Senate are making right now, and every day from his firts day in office this has been the case.

Its obvious that Barry nor any of his Gang of Thugs can tell the truth, I think we can all agree that a bigger lyre and gang of thugs has never had so much control over the United States, no matter who one wants to blame someone else, there is no one else that comes close, not even any ten others come close.

So now the question is what will the land scape of 2012 look like to the person who enters office at that point in time.

As it is now with no more spending nor crazy political antics by Barry and his crew of thugs.
Whom ever gets to the WH will have a $20 TRILLION dollar PLUS def.
More in line with about $25 Trillion.

Unemployment will be at record highs of 65% plus of the US population if not more in line with 70%. There will be NO JOBS left here, there will be no jobs but Government jobs. And due to the fact that there is NO tax base left to support these jobs even 70% or more of these Government jobs will no longer exist.

Social Security will not exist, Medicare will not exist, The amount of home forclosures will be well over 75% of all persons who own a home.
Tax’s will be at 95% plus, thats if you even have a job. Home owners will not be able to pay the taxs on their homes, thus the amount of home loss’s will be higher and more in line with perhaps 85%.

So will, we still hear about what a great job Barry did then by the ones even here that have the blinders on as the ship sinks deeper and deeper daily.
Or will it all still be GWB’s fault?

As it stands now even if your 100% totaly brain dead the light has to be coming on that Barry has done nothing at all from day 1 when he took office that has been to the advantage of the American People.
Thats with a Super Majority of Congress and the Senate.

Every bill he has pushed has been to destroy the very fabric and back of this nation, its not been baby steps, its massive leaps.
There is no one who can say with a straight face anything differant.

You are right on the target! What you said is exactly what I see for our future & have tried to inform friends & relatives. My relatives are ALL conservatives & see some of this, but aren’t quite as passionate as I am! Most of the few friends I have (Tinwarble & I work 16-20 hours per day to not even make it so there’s not much time for us to have many friends) are oblivious to what’s going on because they won’t watch Fox even though most of them are conservatives. Drives me crazy!

        USMadGirl,
You know the old adage you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink.
What I find is many folks think that everything will just take care of its self. Thats how we have the current mess we face.

As to working Yea I know that horse, I love what I do and I come in contact with a lot of folks, not all of them thinking the same thoughts so I get a first hand look at how they think or lack of such.

What I have found is many just do the spin cycle about 20%; these people can’t be swayed, just to dumb for their own good.

The sound bite infomatic rhetoric, these types are about 55%, they have no idea why they think what they think. Its just easy for them.

But the positive point of this is when you take a few moments to explain things that hit them stright in the pocket, its wild how fast they start looking at things from a differant view point.

So my basic rule of thumb is this 20% of the US population is to stupid to live, and we would be far better off without them.
Sad I know but facts are what they are.

55% are willing to learn something new if someone takes a few moments to relate to them whats really going on.

25% are quite clear about whats going on and are mad as hell about it.

We can only hope that a “TRUE LEADER” is somewhere in the US that is not motivated solely by Greed, and has only the population of the United States in their mind and heart.
I pay that we have someone like that.

Blame it on Global Warming which doesn’t exist! I’m sometimes ashamed to admit that I am a scientist, but I have been arguing for at least 7 years, that the only place the Earth is warming is AT THE NORTH POLE!!!
The US and German Coast Guard in the summer of 2001 or 2002 found 13 or more ACTIVE VOLCANOES below the Arctic Ocean. These volcanoes have raised the temperature of the Arctic Ocean and of course that was filtered down into the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans just like the El Nino. Funny, Gore didn’t research nor Goggle such information before writing the Convenent Lie!
Blame it on Global Warming. By the way NASA says all the planets in our solar system which have ice at their poles have started melting. I expect someone to blame that on humans any day now. Better still, blame it on Gore, the inventor of the World Wide Web!

Just a couple things to think about, and you can do it if you try real hard….. 1st… Why was a stimulas bill even needed after President Bush left office?… (hint)… It wasn’t because he left the enonomy in good shape….2nd…. The money the author of this artical leftout that the money paidback wasn’t paidback during President Bushs term…3rd. Talk about lying?… Didn’t president Bush tell us… Don’t worry, go shopping the economys strong and growing…was that accurate?…4th… Jobs are jobs… I don’t care if you want to call then goverment jobs or not and the people employed with those jobs don’t care either… The money will still go back into the economy….5th.. The author admitts he wrote this before Vice president Bidens ( tour)… Why not wait until you hear what he really has to say…..this recession is 100 % republican made no matter how you want to spin it and if you thought this economy would turnaround in just 1 years you’re delusional… I know President Obamas spending a lot… Mist ever, I also know that had the republicans not run this economy into the ground that President Obamas spending on a stimulas bill wouldn’t have been nessessary and he wouldn’t have had to spend his first year cleaning up after the last administration….I’ve seen where some of you think this recession started with the election of the 2006 democrat congress… B.S.. Name an economic bill they past?… Also president Bush had veto power… And the republicans called that democrat congress the Do nothing congress because they past the lest bills of the last 20 years… Can’t blame them.. I’m sure you’ll try anyway…..and lastly….I’ll admitt Obamas the biggest spending president… But do you know who the 2nd and 3rd biggest alltime spenders are….. Yep, Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush…. And at least president Obamas spending is on America, President Bush sunk trillions down the empty rathole in Iraq… Fighting his personal war in Iraq…

    • Louise

You hit the nail on the head right on!
I am relly tired of the whinners and their complaints.
Perhaps President Obama isn’t perfect, but neither are the whinners.
We gave George Bush 8 years to ruin this country.Let’s give Obama a chance to get it right.
Whinners remember this all started under the Bush era.

      • John

Sure let’s give obama a chance, what do you think? Another 3 years or perhaps another 7 years.

        What a moron.

        • DaveH

They forgave FDR 10 years of Depression. And they still think he is a Hero.
There is no time limit for Hopes and Dreams.
Reality is a bitter pill to swallow.

          • Claire

DaveH—I am glad you brought this up. I have heard that FDR was the greatest president that ever lived. I have heard this my entire life.

          • DaveH

Yes, those that worship Marx would like FDR.
You probably never heard of it, but there was a nasty economic collapse in 1907. There also was a collapse in 1873 and 1893. They called them “Panics”. The reason they were relatively short-lived was that government didn’t get involved.

          • Claire

DaveH–Way back when it seemed like a lot of the older people were the ones that liked FDR. Somehow they thought he worked wonders for America.

          • Joe H.

            Claire,
My father was born 1909 and I never heard that from him!! Course I never saw him miss a day of work, except when in the hospital. I can still see him at the shop when I was about ten sitting at the welding table welding Jigs N fixtures with a cast on his leg. When he was done with the jig, he would stand up on bad leg and all and put the 100 pound jig on a cart!!! After that year was over his arms were almost as big as my leg now!!! I learned my character from him. Like I said, I could be on full disability right now but I can’t bring myself to do it!!! That is also why I won’t support a liberal EVER!!!!

      • Palin12

Yeah, and remember, if Al Bore had won his own state of Tennessee in the 2000 election, he would have won the presidency outright. Perhaps the good people of Tennessee knew some things the rest of us didn’t know.

        • usmadgirl

          Palin12,

You bet we did! We’ve know what a lying farce he is for a LONG time! Al-the-Earth’s-core-is-millions-of-degrees-Gore is an embarrassment to my state! He gets goofier all the time & as far as I’m concerned, he should be imprisoned for fraud. He’s become a multi-millionaire, not from hard work (his family was wealthy, as well) but from the millions of dollars he’s received by deceiving the entire world with his, first, “Global Warming” hoax & now that the globe is cool, “Climate Change” hoax! I honestly think the 2000 loss finally pushed him over the edge!

I believe in capitalism & have no problem with people being as wealthy as they can possibly be if they earn it legitimately, but he’s no different than Bernie Maddoff! If for no other reason than Pukelosi taking all her friends & families to the “Climate Change Conference” joke, Gore owes us millions of dollars to pay us back for that worthless shopping trip!

          • usmadgirl

            Palin12,

Before the “typo police” correct me, that’s “we’ve KNOWN” not know! Sorry!

            Amen Sister (usmadgirl),

I agree; he’s about as deceptive and unscrupulous as the come. I think my ole’ college friend in TN also agrees!

            USmadgirl,
that is why he has made over three hundred million dollars since leaving office!!! He has made it by lying to people and profiting off their fears!!!!

Talk about whiners, Obama is the biggest one.

    • DaveH

Hint, Phil, the Democrats controlled the Congress the last 2 years of Bush’s Presidency. And Hint, they controlled the Senate 4 of those 8 years. And Hint, the Congress passes all laws and spending bills. The President can only veto them, which Bush should have done, but with Democrats controlling Congress he would be vetoing bills constantly, and many of the vetos would probably have been overridden.
      http://uspolitics.about.com/od/usgovernment/l/bl_party_division_2.htm

    • john

Obama wants to spend his way out of this recession. Adolf Hitler attempted the exact same. Lets hope the results aren’t the same.

    • http://PdersonalLibertyDigest The Buck in Alaska

Wow, are you ever wrong. The donkeys did take over the congress in 2006 and tried to ram through the same bills they have now been successful under Obama. By the way, Obama was one of those who was in the Senate at the time. Can you find one bill that Obama wrote himself? No, because he didn’t write any, during his entire time in the Senate.
Obam keeps saying he inherited a mess, well, it was not 1 Trillion like he says. it was $450 billion (or there about) and Bush did not spend more than all the other admenistrations in the history as Obama and many people say. He may have spent that much in two terms, but look what Obama did in his first six months (not 8 years), he authorized the spending of about $3 trillion! That is more than 9 times the amount Bush wasted as you said. The only problem that screws up your figures is that the money Bush authorized under TARP (with the Congress), has nearly all (90% plus) been paid back with interest. So, subtract the entire TARP expenditure. Also, the WMDs that Sudam had hidden have now been found. I understand that more than 500 tons of the stuff has been shipped to Canada mainly to prevent the terrorists from getting their hands on it. Any questions about why Bush went into Iraq if this doesn’t explain it?
Wake up! You elected this socialist mouth piece for Moe, now we have to deal with him in the next election. Kick the bums out!

  • Happy

Thanks for the article Mr. Chip Wood. Yes, we have stimulus-plenty of them, but the job situation is underwater. How can we stimulate the job market when we have shipped most of them out oversea.? We need to bring those jobs back and the manufacturing back to create productions and jobs. Just watch what is happening and not listen to empty talk. God help us.

    • http://Don'thaveone Sally

As long as their are Unions with all their demands, and the tree huggers along with stupidity like global warming, we cannot bring manufacturing jobs back. The only reason they left was because of too much regulation, and high cost of employees and their benefits. How can anyone in business justify a janitor at $30.00 an hour plus benefits? By the way David H, good articles on the super wealthy are democrats, and middle class wealthy support Republicans because of taxes. I don’t know if you people on the bogging board know that USA corporations pay the most taxes of any corporations in the world. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

      • Claire

I was under the inpression that “global warming” meant the glaciers were melting, and I heard two big glaciers broke off this week. Global warming does not mean our winters are going to be hot, etc.

        • American Citizen

Glaciers are always breaking off. They get so big, it’s the same as when there’s too much snow, it has to let go and slide down the hill. Scientists have measured the sea ice and say it is actually thickening. The polar bears are increasing in record numbers. Haven’t you heard that global warming is a hoax? Those scientists who started the rumor have admitted it.

          • Claire

American Citizen–Sure, glaciers break off frequently, but nonetheless they are still melting. Climate change? Where I live, we never had tornadoes, now we do. I almost dread Spring because of the storms, and tornado watches/warnings. I have been through numerous tornadoes, and I don’t relish going through another one. Concerning the scientists, they don’t know everything, their so-called lies have indicated this, and since the scientists told lies about global warming, how can I believe them if they say the ice is thickening? I call that backpeddling. As far as I am concerned, they no longer have any credibility. I do not pay attention to Al Gore, I could care less about the guy, he has no credibility either. What I have said here are my OWN beliefs, not someone elses. I do not depend on the so-called professionals for everything I believe and think, especially when the media is so divided. I am my own person.

          • Joe H.

            American Citizen,

            /
            /
            Claire,
Actually the weather here is less severe. I bought a chain saw about ten years ago when a tree came down and I swore I’d never pay for another to be cut up as it was the fourth one. Since then, we have not had any come down and neither have any of our neighbors. We did have a flood about four years back but that was after three inches of rain in one day!!!

          • Claire

JoeH—I kid you not! I do not look forward to Spring. We had a lot of rain last year, and the storms! When those sirens go off, I think not again! I am so paranoid now about tornadoes that I have a separate room downstairs with crates for the dogs. Then when the sirens go off, I quickly get them indoors and into the crates. One day last year the sirens went off at 4:00 p.m. and I flew out of the office, raced home and I got home while the sirens were still going off! Got those dogs in the house, and into their crates. I never moved so fast in my life. In 3 years I have had 2 new new roofs, siding, and some windows replaced. I have 6 foot cedar fencing around my backyard, and it has blown down every time a twister/tornado comes through. And the posts are 2 feet into the ground. I am amazed a lot of people are not killed. I know other people have been through tornadoes like I have and no doubt worse ones, but I still get worked up. You just never know what will happen. In my area we used to never have tornadoes. I still believe there is some climate change. The weather seems like it is more volatile.

          • Joe H.

            Claire,
The guy next door to me has stockade fencing and it comes down in any wind over 40 miles an hr. It doesn’t let any air through so it acts like a wall instead of a fence. Around here, we have to have our posts 30 inches in the ground because of frost heave. All mine on my chainlinc have been dug down 36 inches and concreted in!!! the people that built the house next door were being A..h.les and when I asked them to be careful of my fence they waited and when I turned my back, they slung around on a bobcat to bump it and snagged a hose someway. The guy got sprayed from head to toe!!! I never laughed so hard in my life!!!

          • Claire

JoeH–That is funny!! People can do crazy things at times and you wonder if they have any common sense. We always have an inch of space between the boards. The posts are 2 feet into the ground. The fence was only 2 years old last summer. One day during a storm we had winds up to 60 miles an hour and the posts snapped off at ground level. The sections were laying outward. It was like a bomb went off inside the fenced-in area. I had to walk all my dogs for 3 days until the fence was replaced. Boy, did I get my exercise! But I guess I should not complain, it could have been worse. Got a new roof again, and new picture window plus windows on the southwest side. I remember one year we got hit–my weddings rings were in the bathtub and a tube of lipstick was rammed into the wall. Boards became arrows and stuck into the walls. Eggs all over the kitchen. OH!! I remember one year we got struck by lightening-took out the TV in the one of the bedrooms, and cracked the foundation of the house on the northwest side of the house. It was weird. It split a big tree in half and traveled down the cable wire into the house. At least this is what the insurance adjustor said. Yikes! I always make sure I am prepared, if possible. Maybe it will be better this year.

      AMEN!

Is it really our government’s fault? Isn’t it truly our fault for letting comfort and materialism trump the true intangible American values that made this country responsible for its actions – the land of manifest destiny?
Everyone, me included, should cast the log out of our own eyes before going after the splinters in our neighbor’s eye. The core principles of our freedom haven’t changed; the constitution is still what our law of the land is predicated on.
It’s we the People who have changed and will keep on changing. The question becomes, do we wish to remain a United States – one nation under God – or do we put party ideology and special interest above community and leveraging our (USA) diversity to strengthen our Nation.
The government is suppose to be representative of its people; as our forefather’s comprehensively put it when declaring our independence in our declaration; when Government ceases to work for the people it governs it becomes the obligation of the people to dismantle that governing body and replace it with one that is truly fashioned by the people to serve the people.
Some 50 years later – about the time we stopped being a producing country and started becoming a consuming country – we are finally waking up to the fact that through our apathy we have allowed a promising flourishing nation become destitute. Don’t blame the ineptness we elect and appoint (from both parties) in false hope of recuing us from our demise; look into your own souls and be truthful, we have compromised our own values for the sake of instant comfort and now we are coming to grips with its consequences.
If our forefather’s could change their plight with the limited resource they had at the time of the revolution against the mightiest empire in the world at that time, surely We The People of this great land can find common ground to band with our neighbors and create positive vision using the same principles our establishers did when they told the King and his Parliament to take a walk if all you are going to do is use US! God Bless America!!!

    • Happy

        Jeff,
Where’s Tim the state employee? Oh, he must have a furlough day off.
Desiree Rogers has announced she’s leaving the WH. Poor soul she only had to arrange 330 events in 14 months. How tiring is that!

        • Claire

Warrior–I had not heard this. Why is she leaving, did she give an reason? There has to be more to it.

          • Warrior

            Well Claire,

I didn’t see any reason given but knowing what a talented individual she is I’m not surprised. There are probably many fortune 100 companies attempting to hire her to manage their gatherings. Oh such a social butterfly!

          • libertytrain

Claire – it looks like it is a direct result of her failure to keep the uninvited guests out of the Whitehouse – though the Secret Service took the blame, she apparently is supposed to be there as guests check-in…rather than socializing with the other guests — that’s what NBC reported this morn.

          • Claire

libertytrain—To me, she should have been doing her job. If she had been there checking the guests then perhaps that goofy couple would not have been allowed in. The people that were responsible should have been on the ball. The way the world is nowadays, a terrorist could have gotten in and then guess what would have happened. This is not acceptable and it could have resulted in dire consequences. It does not matter who the current Presidentis. These are crucial times and we do not need another problem to add to the growing list.

          • libertytrain

Claire, I agree, she should have been doing her job – however, she probably assigned it to one of her 40 assistants – just kidding she probably only has 10-20.

          • Claire

libertytrain–I sometimes think it would be disastrous in more ways than one if something should happen. I think you know what I am getting at. On a happy note, your family will be home soon!! It will be a joyous time.

          • libertytrain

Claire – ain’t that the truth – and I’ll be much happier when they are totally done with this tour – one in June and one in September.

To think that govt. jobs are just jobs for everyone, just remember, govt jobs do not produce ANYTHING (except red tape). You need the pvt. sector to hire people, to produce widgets, to pay the taxes to keep the govt running. W/O pvt companies, large and small, we have nothing. Look at the Soviet Union and every other communist country. Everyone worked for the govt. and got paid squat unless you were a party insider.
BO/Biden, Pelosi, Reid, are nothing but amateurs that haven’t a clue, but will tell you one lie after another. Then contradict what they said the next week. The Dems in Congress follow suit. Where were you guys when George Bush was on TV on October 2008, just before the election, telling us how important it was to stimulate the ecomomy with this 3/4 Trillion loan to banks and businesses or else we would all loose our retirements and stuff? Heck, the whole economy was going to collapse without it.

Geo was the biggest bungler we ever had in office. All of this started and was set inplace on his watch. He must be a democrat.

    • JeffH

perry, where were you? I don’t recall hearing anything on anything from you? In case you haven’t heard or been interpreting comments on this site, very few people, if any, offer total support for GW.

Actually, George Bush was a Fiscal Liberal, just like his Dad. But guess what? George is gone. It does no good at all to cry over spilled milk, just clean up the mess!

    • L, USA

Please look past your nose when you post. The short of it is that President Bush gave us a LAST CHANCE try to save the good ship America, as we knew it then. Yes, the biggest caper of Chicago gangsterism has been/being pulled in DC. Even if the grassroots survives a full blown socialist takeover attempt, Welcome to the first floor, from being on the top! That is, if the brake on the ‘elevator’ even gets pulled!!!

      • L, USA

Also, study how world (national) governments rise and how they fall. When the tipping point is past, the best hope is in breaking the landing. One thing to think about is that the $500 thousand thousand thousand is only the tip of the iceburg to what has gone thru the democrat(ick) funnel. It will never be returned to the Ameircan people for nothing.

        • L, USA

And one more thing, When not if the changes in American government happen, the most important thing to consider is to prevent mass suffering and death on a megalithic scale across the continent because to much of the pioneering day self-reliance knowledge/strength is now non-existant, along with mass depletion of natural resorces. In other words, without food, clothing, shelter and personal protection, all the gold in the earths crust is worthless!

    • George E.

      Perry,

My recollection is that GWB’s administration told us the banking industry was in peril (triggered by subprime mortgage defaults which was a favorite program of certain Democrats in Congress), and as a result proposed the TARP bill to “loan” money to the banks to help them get through the danger of default. I don’t believe he ever proposed massive bail-outs (give aways) to businesses, like Obama did with General Motors and Chrysler (which was done to save the unions). While the TARP program was controversial, it did strengthen the banking system, and much of these loans has already been repaid to the treasury. If our banks had defaulted in mass, the economy would have really tanked like it did in the 1930′s great depression. So, while I’m reluctant to encourage federal intervention into the private sector, I’ve come to believe there is a role for the fed in managing the banking system.

  • Keith H

This economic crisis was created by the elites so they can legitimize taking 3/4 of a trillion dallers from the american people, and then Bernaky turns around and makes himself into a hero by saying he saved us from a depression. The largest transfer of wealth in the history of this country could only be pulled off by creating a crisis. The primary reason in which capitalizm operates is to maximize profits, and people comes second. So you see why those big inshurance corperations will never create a healthcare system that benefits all americans, it will only take money out of our pockets to make themselves wealthier. Our biggest mistake was to make it a profiting system.

    • DaveH

      Keith,
Don’t confuse Free Market Capitalism with Crony Capitalism. They are two different animals. Crony Capitalists only succeed with the help of their “enforcer”, i.e. Big Government.
In a Free Market, the consumer is king. If the companies don’t please the consumer they are soon out of business. Free Markets also address a lot of perceived employment wrongs much simpler and without the expensive involvement of the Government Meddlers. For instance, say one company is ignorant and hires its workers based on the color of their skin. In a free market, that company is going to fall prey to the companies that hire the best, most productive workers regardless of skin color. In an unfree market, companies just find ways around the well-intentioned but misguided rules.
The only way the Discriminatory Company can succeed is with the aid of force given by Governments (Crony Capitalism) in a heavily regulated economy.

      • Keith H

Dave I know the difference between the free market and croony capitalizm, The type of capitalizm that our health care system is involved in is to make people believe they’re getting good sevice by charging them a 35 or 45 daller copay just to see the doctor for 5 minuts and make them believe they’re getting there moneys worth when they’re not, because a monetary system breeds corruption, because a car salesman will lie to you to get your money, there is a way to make honest money, but greed always lead to corruption,I only support a honest form of capitalizm.

        • Joe H.

keith, I don’t know where all you people get your Dr.s from. She is the one that started me on 50,000 units of vitamin D twice a week, started me on vitamin E to help my diabetes, all sorts of things like that. You guys need to shop around a bit. If the doc doesn’t fit you then find one that does!!! I’m very satisfied with my dr. and that’s what worries me about Obummers plan!!!

            Joe H,

I agree. With the exception of one or two in the past 10 years or so….my Docs spend anywhere from 15-30 minutes, depending on how many questions I might want answered.

Funny story (sort of): I recently switched to a new Doc closer to my home, because when I saw him about a year ago due to a bad case of bronchitis and my Doc could not get me in for a couple of days (and I was quite pleased with him). He is polite, but frank and he occasionally cuts me off….well….I reminded him a couple of times…he does not let me finish when I answer his questions….well…he said…”You don’t mind challenging your doctor, do you?”…..I said…”Of course not; why should I”, and I told him about the “last doctor that I felt responded to me in a demeaning way because I asked about alternative treatments for migraines…I just threw that doctor out of my exam room”. He busted out laughing…and I said…”it’s true”. He apologized and said he will work on being a better listner; he even came back a few minutes and apolgized again and tried to clarify his position in a very respectful manner.

Anyway, long story short….I let my doctors know that I will follow their advice, IF they can convince me there is no alternative treatment that will be effective…and they will need to take my concerns into consideration for my treatment. So far, so good (except for the one or two yoyo’s).

I just think if we go in there as if the Docs are the only one’s in control of our health….well that’s what we’ll end up with. We do have more control than we realize and more than we utilize (IMO)….and we have to be willing to invest in the important dialogue with our doctors. Just my thought.

Thanks Joe H, for your comments.

            Joe H,

            Continued from previous post:

I’d like to add, I also think HMO’s / PPO’s are what causes a lot of problems between patients and their doctors. Many, if not most doctors now belong to HMO’s / PPO’s and have restrictions and quota’s (IMO) placed on them. It’s kind of like a double-edged sword. I will say the doctors I’ve dealt with are in those categories, but with the 2 exceptions I referenced above….when I put them on polite, but firm notice of my health care expections…they still seem to come through. Maybe I’ve just been lucky to get those doctors that will pay attention, when you shine that bright light in their faces.

Where are those JOBS, obummer? Most of those “JOBS” are new government jobs. It’s obummer’s way of buying votes [I got you a job, and YOU OWE ME]. I wouldn’t put it past Obummer to learn how many government employees vote for vote-buyers who rely on easy votes.

Gerloff–Regarding the guy that called in to Limbaugh’s radio show–I heard him too. I was driving home for lunch and I was horrified. He was threatening all of us if anything happens to Obama. And I do think there would be an uprising if anything like this would happen. It would be a critical situation. There are many unstable people in the world, and all it takes is something to set them off. I do not wish evil on any President, regardless of who he/she is. This is not the path to take. If people are unhappy, vote the politicians out of office, simple as that.
I remember the Kennedy situation. Although I did not agree with everything he did as President, nonetheless he was our President and it was horrific. The crying and the weeping—from the Democrats as well as the Republicans. I do not want to ever see this again.

Barry and smooth Joe will continue to lie to the people for there corporate owners that put them in office.
The economic problem of our great country is all the fault of the american people themself. Everyone sold there country down the road for there imidiate satisfaction and greed showing no patriotizm to there own country buying all the imported cars lead filled toys and all the other cheap imported materialistic items, and buying homes and property that they could not afford. And when it all fell through they cry and blame the government and expect the worthless lying socialist that the eleiteist, corporate cronies and the people that feel the government should take care of them and owes them something put into office to fix it. The Auto company’s and other manufacturing would not have had to move jobs out of the country had they not had to compete with the cheap and slave labor that all these imported products are built with.
So keep buying your imported junk and it will never change. If you want job’s buy American and make job’s and stop the illegals from taking them.
It is every Americans duty to suport there country and the American people.
Why is it that church and state are to be sperate but corporations and state are not? Stop the corporations and and special instrest from buying our elections and give the govenment back to the people.

If corporations and special intrest where not permited to contribute to election funds then the government would return to the people.

For all the Odumbass lovers , his runnaway spendind has caused more companies to cut back on hiring because as the lesson learned in the past dem. adminstrations, dems love to tax the job creaters of our sountry. Government jobs don’t keep money turning over because it drains money from tax payer and since government workers are so ineffenct, more money is wasted. All government jobs are cost negative, instead of cost postitive. Postal Service is a classic examole, cost keep climbing and service sliding to ziltch. When postal service privatized the movement of mail between cities and towns, it got cheaper and faster. It would be faster, if the hubs weren’t a bunch of unionized lazy assed “it isn’t my job” work force. Another problem this country has is, from the 30′s on, we went from people in power who actually worked in the real world, instead the eleit professor types with pedigree college degrees. Oidoit is a classic example of an over educated dumb ass out of the his realm of theories and mud ball dreams. That is the condesending beltway schlubs in both parties. Bammee thinking eveyone needs a college degree is a joke, unless you want more brain dead idoits that are non-thinking theorist planning how to make jobs and pay off our national debt. Some body has to have real world experience and has done more than go to school and get good grades and have poor work habits, like it is too phyically hard to do and I might get my hands dirty.

OK,we are stuck with Barry for a few more years, lets look at what MIGHT help this country.

Bring many of the jobs that have gone to India, and other countries, that answer the phone to “plain me how to operate my computer” Penalize the big companies that send these jobs there, for a few dollars a day and eliminates many jobs here that pay a few dollars per hour,I especially like when I phone AMERICAN EXPRESS! ” What it is I can do for you”? “My name is John, I am here to help you solve yu ploblem”( not a spelling error)

Dell, IBM, AMEX, the list goes on, we are supporting the economy of other countries , Bush said to just go out and spend money, which I am sure al he meant was to help companies here employ people to serve you, but he overlooked the fact that hardly everything now is MADE someplace ELSE!
I recently toured a furniture warehouse and not one box said ” MADE IN USA” China, VietNam, Maliasia , etc. etc, Not one American BOX… WHY THE UNIONS made it too expensive for us to purchase American made items. Who supports Barry… DA Unions… Why? They get to keep their jobs with Govt Money, and continue to pay income taxes.
Government employees around the world get so many benefits that I can only wish that I got a Govt job when I was much younger, 20 years I get all the benefits.
I Washington, there were many 20 year retired Military ( at age 38-40) that got another job with the Govt , Double Dipping They called it, I could not believe my ears of what they were making and how little they were doing( they sat at the next table)
IT IS TIME FOR CHANGE, the first diaper is full!

    • DaveH

      Dan,
Your last paragraph hits on the real problem. Our oversized Government is draining our financial resources. On top of that, they rarely contribute to productivity. In fact, usually they get in the way of productivity. There are impoverishing our Country, and then like magicians they divert our attention and blame the Corporations for our problems.
The Corporations are only doing what they have to do if they want to be competitive with the foreign corporations, and offer the spoiled American people cheaper goods.
The only way we’re going to get our once-great economy back is to get the Government out of the marketplace and give consumers back their power. And put those high-paid Government workers ($70,000/year average) back to productive pursuits in the private sector.

Retired Military do not get a pension as soon as they retire. They have to be over, I believe, 55 years old or more. We have a son and daughter who are retired military and neither one can draw a pension yet. Our son still works for the Navy in computers and our daughter is a nurse who works in a hospital.

      • Fed Up Gal in NM

        American Citizen,

Those retiring from regular active duty (full career) do begin to draw their retirement when they retire which could be early 40′s. I’ve worked with several retired (from full AD service) and all are drawing their retirement, even if under 55.

I was active duty for part of my military service, but did not stay on AD for my entire career. I switched over to National Guard and served one weekend a month + 2 weeks of annual training (and occasional other activations). I served a total of 21 years (combined), but am not able to draw my retirement until age 60. I think the theory is that you don’t have as much time invested, but personally I believe everyone should be able to draw their retirement at the same age. Those with less AD time, will be drawing less retirement pay anyway. Just my thought.

Fed Up Gal – as far as I know you are correct however, there are changes in the wind for career military as far as getting their pension immediately when they retire after their 20 plus years – My daughter had mentioned it before they deployed and I can’t ask them now so perhaps someone else will verify the new changes the guy at the White House has in store for the military. Whether they already went into effect or if it’s going to be in some level format like those in after 2000 don’t get the pension immediately upon retiring.

          • Fed Up Gal in NM

            LT,

Yes, I think you’re right; I think changes are on the horizon. There’s been discussion about such changes for the past few years.

On a somewhat different note: My real concern is that Obama will push such a change through, even after he recently made it possible for retired Federal (civilian) employees to go back to work with the Feds and continue drawing their retirement. I will admit, I have not researched this in the past couple of months, so there could have been changes. If not, here’s my thoughts regarding retiring or retired federal civilians being allowed to return to federal employment and still drawing their retirement from federal service:

While I think it’s acceptable to do that with military retirees, I personally don’t agree that it’s right to do that for Federal civilians who retire, then return to work with the Feds as a civilian (except possibly in the relatively few cases where those Federal civilians were serving in combat related situations).

I am [currently] a Federal civilian employee, but I just don’t think that’s right, and especially if the military retirees will not be able to draw their retirement immediately. It’s just not right, in my opinion.

Thanks for your feedback, LT. It helps to have all the data, so I appreciate yours’ (always).

So Pres, you had specifically stated you were going to go line by line through every earmark attached to every bill and cut all unnecessary spending. Seeing as over 9,000 earmarks were included and approved in the Stimulis Bill, could you inform the American public as to how many earmarks you cut out of that bill and maybe give us a couple of examples of those as well as who may have introduced them?

That may be well and good, but I lived in Delaware (Biden land) for over 35 years (closer to 40) and when Joe ran for president, he attempted to sound like JFK. It was no surprise that he did not carry Delaware, because we knew too much about him. He is still a dolt! As the toilet bowl economy of the US swirls slowly down the tube -
will we only argue about who pushed the handle? Or would we look within, to find the kingdom – meaning, remove our projections on our leaders, and not be incensed at their actions?

Its easy to think we would be more honest, or morally decent, and not cheat on our spouses or capitulate to lobbyists to pass laws limiting corporate liability – but until we have that access to power, we won’t know. We may call them bad and us good, but allowing their actions to dictate our feelings towards them makes us reactive slaves, not sovereign individuals.

From our position, the best we can do is find equanimnity – to see good and bad in everyone, including ourselves. Reducing our ‘charge’ with our leaders, removing the hate of Fed Res Bankers, AMA staffers, or Congressmen/women – all that leaves us free to be radiators of love. Not pollyanna’s, just true coaches of humanity, who see the Walter Paytons in the Maurice Claretts – who know we are all one step away from cascading events that take us down the rocky road. Let us strive to hold them (mentally), as Goethe would say, to being as they could or would be …

Maybe we should even thank them for relieving us of the responsibility for playing this part. The fall of our society was predicted in Mayan calendars and Biblical theory, and if we are alive at this time, we could just be thankful we are not them – that we are free to be proactively loving and forgiving. Not to be doormats, but simply waiting for the platform or common cause that will rally us together to civil disobedience that Ghandi or MLK, Jr. would approve of.

George Bush did everything wrong——why is Obama out– doing Bush????

    • buddhamaster

      James Corbin,

Where have you been in the last 8 years or so. GWB have screwed-up big time. And BHO has been trying to fix it but the republicans has been blocking every changes he is trying to do. The republicans would not agree to participate in a bipartisan debate and input to settle the issue by a vote in Congress. They simply do not want to participate to address the issue. They have effectively tied up Congress by filibustering, it is a technique to stall and delay by endless speaking or talking out a bill to prevent a vote.

Now BHO is trying to ram the watered down Health Care reform Bill without bipatisanship participation. The democrates will try to do it alone to pass the bill. Health Care cost is rising double digit, more people will not be able to afford it as rate increases and so will be without health care. This Health Care Reform Bill will allow 50 Million more american to be covered at a cost of $100 Billion dollars to the tax payer over a 10 year period.

Think for a moment, the republican are doing their best to block the bill from passing. Those republicans in office do not want the bill to pass because BHO will take credit for passing the health Care Reform Bill, The bill is good for BHO but bad for the republican party as a whole.

The midterm election is coming. and if the bill is passed, the republicans may very likely lose a few more seats. They can not afford to lose more seats being a minority political party. These people are republicans first and americans second.

The recent U.S. Supreme Court ruled 5-4 for giving corporations and unions with “Person Right” can excercise free speech. And allow these entities to spend Corporate funds without limits to support or opppose candidates seeking public office during elections. This effectively open the flood gate of corporate influence to the the election processes, which will undermine the balance of influence against the voice of the people. The limitless money corporations have will certainly go to candidates that is frienly to the corporation and will do what the corporation ask of him when he is elected. We will have effectively a dictatorship by corporate interest. This will be the death of democracy in America.

So who are the U.S. Supreme Court Justices that made this landmark ruling 5 for and 4 against? There are presently 9 U.S. Supreme Court Justices. BHO have appointed one Justice after he took office last year. Do some research on the internet find out who voted for and against the ruling and which president nominated the justice to the Supreme Court Office. You can connect the dots.

These 5 Justices that voted for the ruling have betrayed the trust they have sworn to protect and uphold the constitution practically throw away the democracy in which American is founded. This is the most serious attack against american democracy

If you are a true patriot you should strive to open your eyes. get your facts right and separate the truth from the lies. If Everyone will do their homework, then America will be great again and God Bliss America, If people don’t care, then America will become history because the individual simply don’t care. then God Help America.

America will still be here, only it will be under corporate dictatorship and the humans will only be the corporate slaves. By then it will take a revolution to depose the corporate dictator, but could a people’s revolt be succesfull against the corporate dectatorship?

buddhampster…you are allowed to have your opinion and I am allowed to have mine. We aren’t living in the past.

ALERT: Did you think that, just because Barack Hussein Obama called his meeting this week a “bipartisan healthcare reform summit,” that the Democrats were serious about starting over and including the Republicans’ ideas in their plans?

WRONG!When Sen. Lamar Alexander opened the President’s health care summit for the GOP by saying the Democrats should renounce the idea of using parliamentary tricks to pass health care, Obama concluded that the American people were not concerned with the arcane processes of the Senate and would be “comfortable with a majority vote.”

My request is this, that before we go further today, that the Democratic congressional leaders and you Mr. President, renounce this idea of going back to the Congress and jamming through on a partisan vote, through a little-used process we call reconciliation, your version of the bill.
Obama refused to renounce “reconciliation” to pass his plan! So, in other words, Obama is LYING about compromising on his healthcare plans, and Reid and Pelosi are preparing to use a parliamentary trick to ram ObamaCare down the throats of the American people!

IT’S TRUE — so WE have to make sure that Obama, Reid, and Pelosi FAIL in their trickery!

The dabate and discussion has been going on long enough and its not going any where. Right now the most important issue is the matter of those 40 million americans who are without health care for they could not afford to pay for the medical insurance. These are the everyday people that you see in the streets, who may have lost their job, or rejected and abandoned by their medical insurance provider. They are denied health care. The BHO Health Care Reform Bill is trying to address this issue. What will happen to these people if the bill failed to pass, Who and where will these people turn to? Do you have compassion towards these unfortunate people? Please set aside your political differences for now and commiserate with their health care problems. BHO is trying to help these people to provide them health care by using tax payer’s money to the tune of $100 billion dollars spead over 10 years. Also medical insurance premiums are increasing double digets. This bill will also put some control to the rate increases, because it will provide more competition to the industry thus breaking the monopoly they hold over the country. Like allow people to buy medical insurance from out of state. Help and Support your fellow american with of your kindness and generousity.

          • Warrior

That’s good Bud. Why don’t they just pay for the uninsured with the huge savings that they will acquire from the govs claim of all the waste, fraud and abuse of the medicaid/medicare systems? Now that these wasteful monies have been identified, we’re probably going to experience the savings very shortly I would imagine.

          • George E.

            Budd,

It’s my understanding that everyone who needs health care can get it today by going to the emergency room, so no one is denied health care because they don’t have health care insurance or the ability to pay. Further, if we do finally decide to give health care insurance to everyone at taxpayer expense, I really see no reason whatsoever that we should pay to give illegal immigrants the same level of health care that legal American citizens receive. That should reduce the number by about 15 million people, I believe.

          • George E.

            Warrior,

If the government really knows how to eliminate all of the waste, fraud, and abuse in the Medicare program, wouldn’t you think that they would have already eliminated it? They’ve been talking about this issue for years, but so far nothing has been done to correct the problem. These dots don’t connect for me. Either they don’t know where to look, or they can’t stop it, or it will cost more to police the system than they will gain by eliminating the waste, fraud, and abuse.

          • Palin12

During the democratic primary debates, Obama said his health care plan differed from Hillary’s in that there was no individual mandate to buy health insurance. Then what happened? As soon as he got in the White House, he changed it to Hillary’s position: fines for non-compliance, having to show proof to the the IRS, even possible jail time. Obama lied to the American people and I will not support Obamacare! I have taken reasonably good care of my health and I am not going to spend money on those who haven’t: 400-pounders waddling around, crack-heads, illegal aliens, and homosexuals with various STDs.

Because you don’t like it??? You are in a shrinking minority bud!!!

          • budd hamster

            ‘Joe H’

A shrinking minority?. I am not going to dispute your statements. You are perfectly entitled to your opinions.

However the presidential election has been decided, BHO clearly and undisputedly won a majority mandate to govern by the decision of the people legally and fairly. The people has spoken. Please respect the voice of the majority.

America is broken in many ways by dysfunctional and misguided policies and practices of previous administrations (such as Economic, Financial and Corporate issues, Military and National Security issues, Educational and Scientific issues, Out of Control Health Care issues, Degraded Moral, Ethical and Religious issues). Some issues develop within and others from outside America. This condition presented the most serious treath to the survival of the democratic republic. It is time to put the political differences aside and strive to get out of this downward spiral to distruction. Every citizen’s help is necessary to pull out of this abyss.

WellPoint Inc. announced health care premium increase of as much as 39% per cent effective Mar.1.

And just yesterday I watched CNN reporting that some Heath care provider are billing $1000 for a tooth brush and $46 for one tylonol pill. Clearly the system is out of control. It begs to be repaired. Don’t you think that the health care provider and the Insurance provider colluding by are padding the bills to gouge the poor smucks and generate enormous profits to pay for massive executives culpable bonuses for it was unethically obtained.

WASHINGTON — Some unemployment benefits could dry up Monday. Newly laid-off workers wouldn’t get federal help with health insurance premiums.
Road and transit bills could go unpaid, Medicare payments to doctors would stay high and rural satellite reception could be affected, all thanks to Sen. Jim Bunning’s decision to block legislation that would keep alive a host of programs that expire Sunday night.

            http://news.yahoo.com/s/mcclatchy/20100226/pl_mcclatchy/3437997

Just think of this. One Senator can torture and make hell the lives of hundreds of thousands of people. This is not democracy for the people. of the people, and by the people. this is democracy for the republican, of the republican and by the republican. Sen. Bunning should be able to speak his opinion but not have the power to block a bill by himself single handedly. This is a classic example of a miscarriage of democracy.

I have nothing against the republican party, The senators and representatives are sure doing a good job to destroying the party. Because people will remember comes election time.

To answer your question. my opinion is these people (regardless of their political appellation) from their actions are not working for the people or to the party. They are only looking after number one, and is worried about keeping their office. that is all they care.

budd hamster, Thank you very kindly. I remain.

            Palin12,

I guess that’s the kind of “change” Obama meant………huh?

          • Fed Up Gal

            Budd,

We’re simply tired of the emotional blackmail tied to stealing our hard earned money. While I agree times are rough now (for most of us), I don’t agree that ‘forcing’ citizens to pay a higher percentage of their income to off-set the hardships of others is kind nor generous…it is however, theft. If a serious effort were being made to be fair and reasonable to ALL citizens, then everyone would be paying the exact same percentage of their income for taxes.

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry when you say Obama is trying to adress this for the unfortunate ones who have lost jobs, health insurance, etc. I do not believe he is ramming this down the entire country’s throat for purely altruistic reasons. Remember, he said things would be different….things would change….well things are changing, but not for the good of ALL. ALL means ALL!

Let’s talk for a moment about the individual responsibility we all have in planning for our futures. I’m tired of people who have a hole burning in their pocket…to purchase things that are not really necessary, just desired….all while rarely (and in some cases never) putting some or their own money toward health insurance. I know it’s not cheap, but it is each person’s responsibility to look out for their health and the health of their family above all else. Why do many have a house full of technological toys, high speed and wi-fi internet, cable or satellite dish TV, designer clothes, one or more of the the newest and coolest automobiles, frequent movie theatres, salons, bars and clubs regularly….yet they can’t seem to part with their own money to pay for their own insurance. It’s just like folks who use up all their sick leave at work when they’re not really sick, don’t plan for short or long-term illnesses…because good ole’ taxpayer will bail ‘em out like they did the car companies, etc.

Maybe people should put more thought into what’s really important in life, so they may off-set much of the negative impact to their health and lifestyles that will invariably pop up in this life. I’m sure it sounds harsh to some, but it’s not everyone’s responsibility to babysit grown people. No wonder there’s groups like the Tea Party Express….I hope groups like the Tea Party folks are successful in making REAL CHANGE a reality….you know change that is good for ALL!

            Fed Up Gal

          • Fed Up Gal

            Budd,

“However the presidential election has been decided, BHO clearly and undisputedly won a majority mandate to govern by the decision of the people legally and fairly. The people has spoken. Please respect the voice of the majority”. Well, Budd…..as legally and fairly as can really be determined in our current state of affairs. If anyone dared to question this, they would be branded a racist for certain.

Those who voted for this Hollywood version of the POTUS can now choke on their votes. They got what they asked for (whether directly or indirectly)…a liar and a thief. Yes, now I’m ticked. Enough is enough. Get off the emotional blackmail train…it does not help your cause with me…and my guess is…not with most (likely only those who are choking on those votes now).

Sorry about those dried up (potentially) unemployment benefits. A smart thing to do is to prepare when things are good, by putting some extra away and not blowing it on unnecessary “wants”. I do feel bad for people affected negatively, but where does it stop? I personally have had some huge financial obstacles over the last 2 or 3 years from things that I did not cause, but I and I alone took the responsibility of digging my way out.

It amazes me that you describe Senator Bunning’s actions as “torture and making hell of people’s lives”. Like you said before…we all have a right to our opinions, and mine is that Obama/Biden and Congress has placed us ALL in a financial and social death camp….That’s the real torture….the real miscarriage of democracy and justice.

As usual the liberals justify everything they want in terms of “at all cost”. Hopefully, that path will be no more….the line is being drawn in the sand at this moment in time!

in europe its the same way. people over extended themnselves. goldman sachs cooked the books and now we are headed for the worst depression in history.but then who cares because with 65% of the cities having flouride in their water ahhh flouride it calms you while your bone cancer kills you, and good old gmo foods along with mercury as a base additive to our meds, we are really in good shape. melamine is now ok to give to our children and clear plastic bottles that cause learning disorders and is a life time contraceptive for males,we find that the World Bankers thru their food specialists monsanto and dupont are making sure we dont over stay our welcome here on earth. and i can back up what i am saying. its too bad that im too introverted by the water to say anything though. as my liver seems to not be functioning properly and my hair is falling out. i guess ill go to the kitchen and have a corn taco with milk. dam i forgot what i was writing about.

Reading the previous comments just makes me sad. The astounding conflagration of ignorance, prejudice, stupidity, obtuseness, irrational thought, AND, YES, blindness of political reality, is expressed in such poor writing, lacking basic reasoning (not to mention the reliance on unsupported references to unrelated emotional, religious, and nonsensical biased beliefs created by obliviousness of ACTUAL HISTORICAL and POLITICAL PROCESSES) that I simply am unable to respond. Plato’s objections to democracy, thoroughly discussed in “The Republic,” are proven once again, 2500 years later! Uneducated, unthinking, angry citizens, hoodwinked and bamboozled by corrupt, greedy, self-serving, bought-and-paid-for politicians (whose hubris and avarice have now evolved to planet controlling levels!) are allowing these career politicians to destroy the Republic. Plato saw no solution; I tend to agree.

    • George E.

      Bruce,

Aside from your references to our ignorance, I’m pretty sure most of the folks on this board would agree with the following comment:

“Uneducated, unthinking, angry citizens, hoodwinked and bamboozled by corrupt, greedy, self-serving, bought-and-paid-for politicians (whose hubris and avarice have now evolved to planet controlling levels!) are allowing these career politicians to destroy the Republic.”

Please enlighten us as to what you would propose should be done to correct this problem.

  • ONTIME

Ignorance abounds and you will never convince a lib to listen or use logic because it would interfere with their agendas. Remember, you will find that libs love to tell you all about what they do not know and expect you to listen to their every word as though it were written in stone.

Curly Joe and the boobs he hangs out with are very clever crooks but the recent mistake, to have them meet the Republicans face to face on a national exposure was devastating to them, these liars and thieves do not do well when exposed to sunlight and counter argument, they have nothing substantial to offer only more sob stories to jerk the tears from your eyes and steal you blind. I am now convinced that now more than ever the American public has just awakened to this blarney and blather they like you to listen to and they are in for a hard time now wherever they appear, November is going to be their Little Bighorn and the loss they are about to experience is going to drive them go underground to plant more landmines and hope for another crisis to develop, like the one they just engineered. It will always be hard to maintain the freedoms in this Republic but it is what we are expected to do, forever….Freedom is not free.

Yes, Viginia thre is a crook or two in your party and we will clean out the RINO’s but I can bet your lib crooks will stay and thrive.

All of this partisan bickering is what the “man” wants us to do to mask the real cause of all these problems. If you study history at all and see what has happened to the monetary systems of past governments when they have the right to create money out of thin air with no controls. People are still the same, we are doomed to repeat past mistakes of mankind. Why do people think that governments can spend with no self control any more than an out of control families with credit cards. Governments can get by a lot longer, but it catches up with them just like an out of control consumer.I think its here and people don’t know whats happening so we resort to partisanship instead of facing the truth.

    2) After BO’s visit, I will now vote against Reid…17%
    Latest poll…Sue Lowden (R) 51% , Harry Reid (D)39%.

Too bad they are censoring humor now steph. I saw your post before they removed it, and IT WAS FUNNY! Even the liberals would have been laughing. What a pity.

      ‘Stephaan’

What They censored your post? I can’t believed this. I absolutely enjoyed your post, I laugh so hard and fully appreciate your very creative joke completely. I have read somewhere that a good laugh does stimulate your auto-immune system. keep’s one in good health. Who needs health care is we have people like you to keep us all healthy and blushing with joy.

budd hamster, thank you very kindly.

        Budd,
Glad you liked it. Laughter gives your body a huge shot of endorphins, similar to adrenalin, only waaaaay better. It is also better than any kind of drug whether legal or illegal, and like you say, promotes good health. :-)

Thank you for your information. You are very knowledgeble. I appreciate your sharing it with me. I can not help but surmise that you probably have a medical background.

budd hamster. Thank you very kindly.

        Budd,
Even though Stephaan is an ultra conservative, I must admit I liked his joke too. My family & I were laughing our butts off. I think maybe the censor deleted it so they could steal it, and claim it as their own when they sent it to their email friends, because it did not appear to be against this sites rules.

    Reality!

  • You are dummies just like palin

Budd hamster is smarter than all of you. Even if you disagree with his political views, his use of logic and reason make his detractors sound like grade school dropouts.

    • Dylan

Funny how the biggest detractors of Palin, are the ones that know absolutely nothing about her.
If you think budd hamster is smarter than all of us, then it’s clear to us that HE IS A LOT SMARTER THAN YOU, since he has fooled you so easily!
As for budd hamster, he needs to clean out the hamster cage a little more often. He appears to be getting high off the smell of the hamster pee.

Either quit posting under another name or say THANKS MOM!!!!!

  • Sweetness4Rock

That is one scary a** picture of Obama above.

    • Joe H.

      Rock,
show me one that isn’t!!! He scares the hell out of me!!!!

  • http://wwwNRA.com Stephaan

The pics of Osama that scare me the most, are all of them that show him turning his back on the American flag. Every body else is saluting the flag and saying the pledge of allegiance, or singing the National Anthem, and Osama in looking down and has his hands folded and is probably reciting some passage from the koran.

    • cr747

      Stephaan,
I think he is singing,”My Ding-a-Ling—My Ding-a-Ling,” I’m sure you all know the rest of the song.

    • budd hamster

      ‘Stephaan’

Come now stephaan, BHO may possibly also be reciting passages from the Torah or the Holy Bible, or maybe a passage from Tibetan Buddhist text since BHO received the Dalai Lama in the white house 2 weeks ago.

The founding fathers have wisely provide by means of Constitutional quarantee the freedom to worship or belief. as long as separation of state and church is duly respected. And so no body can dictate what god one chooses to worship. It is entirely a matter between the individual and his god or what ever he believes in, including atheism, satanism or bullshitism (the belief or worship of bullshit). The state and the church must be keep separated. The church can not impose influence on the state and vise-versa. Historically, the majority of the founding fathers that drafted the constitution were free-masons, and they strongly believed that the church should not be involved in the matter of state’s business.

Can you imagine the nightmare it would have been? There are the Democrats and Republicans and the Churches! (think Catholic, Protestans and its many Churches, Islamic Moques or Mormons). I believe it would be letterally be like Hell. They need to sort out who is the most powerful god to be fit to rule.

So it boils down to the premise that one’s belief is to be respected fully. No matter what one believe in. It is parallel to the idea of freedom of speech that one’s opinion is to be respected because it is quaranteed in the Constitution.

budd hamster, thank you very kindly.

      • George E.

        Budd,

I don’t profess to be a constitutional scholar, but I believe our founding fathers were trying to ensure that our government didn’t endorse one religion as the official state religion like many of the European nations had done, rather than separating religion, in general, from all governmental affairs. In this country, all religions are to be respected, so long as they abide within our laws. However, that doesn’t change the fact that the origins of our government and laws were largely defined within Judeo-Christian values.

        • budd hamster

          ‘George E.’

The words “Separation of state and church” does not literally appear within the U.S. Constitution, First Amendments (Bill of rights).

The wordings as found in The U.S. Constitution referring to ‘separation of state and church is written as follows.

In 1789, the first of ten amendments were written to the Federal Constitution; they have since been known as the Bill of Rights. The First Amendment reads:

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”

This was ratified by the States in 1791.

The interpretations has been actively debated from time to time.

The U.S. Supreme Court have ruled on the issue and have been consistent in it’s interpretation over time since ratification.

An instance of Supreme court decision regarding the issue of our discussion regarding your contention of the origins of government and laws being largely defined within Judeo-Christian values.

‘ExpertLaw’ have published some Supreme Court ruling on the subject. I provide a link for your perusal. You can of course verify the article to your satisfaction.

          http://www.expertlaw.com/library/misc/first_amendment-2.html

Where a monument is placed in a government building for a non-secular purpose and has the primary effect of endorsing religion with no historical background, the placing of the monument is in violation of the Establishment Clause.29 In Moore, the Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court placed a two-and-a-half ton granite monument engraved with the Ten Commandments (and other references to God) in an Alabama State Judicial Building.30 The monument portrayed the Ten Commandments as the “moral foundation of law.”31 Justice Moore specified that by the term “God,” he specifically meant the “Judeo-Christian God of the Holy Bible and not the God of any other religion.”32 Installed without the knowledge of the other eight justices (including their opinions on the size, shape, color, location and wording on the monument), the monument was immediately visible upon entering the building.33 The Court held that “for a practice to survive an Establishment Clause challenge, it ‘must have a secular legislative purpose, . . . its principal or primary effect must be one that neither advances nor inhibits religion, . . . [and it] must not foster an excessive government entanglement with religion.’”34 The Court reasoned that the Chief Justice, by placing the monument in the courthouse, had both a non-secular legislative purpose, and the primary effect of advancing religion.35 Therefore, the Court held that the monument had to be removed because it violated the First Amendment’s Establishment Clause.36

So Judeo-Christian value carry no special position in the the interpretation of the U.S. Constitution as ruled by the U.S. Supreme Court relating to “separation of state and church”

      • http://wwwNRA.com Stephaan

        Budd;
You are correct, and I agree that the Constitution guarantees every American “citizen” freedom of religion. My issue with Osama (as far as religion) is he has flip flopped back and forth on whether he is a Christian or a Muslim so many times that we can’t keep it straight from month to month!
He needs to pick one and STICK WITH IT!
For me it comes down to this: Was he lying to us THEN, or is he lying to us NOW?
I know that he lies to us EVERY DAMN DAY about other things, but why lie about his religion? A person IS, what they believe. How can he change his mind about his religious beliefs so often? Maybe once or twice in your lifetime, your beliefs “could” change, but Osama has made this a bi-annual event, and sometimes it’s even monthly.

        • budd hamster

          ‘Stephaan’

Please ‘Stephaan’, You need to re-examine your rationalization. Your contention that one should not flipflop on one’s religion is flawed. Since what one does with his religion is one’s personal business, It does not matter what one choose to worship or how one chooses to worship. So if one chooses to flipflop to worship it is entirely his prerogative. It does not matter if one changes his mind a hundred times a minute, that is his freedom as well. If you forbid someone from flipfloping on his choice of worshipping. One is denied the freedom to flipfloping worship, it is identical to suppressing one freedom to worship.

budd hamster. Thank you very kindly.

          • http://wwwNRA.com Stephaan

The point is Budd, that he isn’t changing his religion every week or month. He is just “claiming” to be one or the other, (Christian or Muslim), depending on which group he is trying to appease. That means that he is LYING HALF the time.
Have you EVER KNOWN ANYONE who lied about what their religious beliefs are? The guys a bigger flip flopper than slick willie clinton, which leads most people to think that we can’t believe ANYTHING that he says, regardless of the subject!

  • Sweetness4Rock

I’m still shocked that the majority of people in America voted for these clowns…..oh wait………

  • budd hamster

    ‘Stephan’

I shall attemp to answer your contention about BHO claiming that he is a pious Christian as well as a devout Muslim. Basically if you accept that the religions (Christianity and Islamism) are equally valid as a bone fide religion, then proclaiming association with one religion such as Islam does not necessarily invalidate or negate the other in this case (Christianity), or vise versa. Rejecting other religion apart from your own is called religious intolerance.

This mentality have cause relentless religious wars throughout history, Such as wars between Catholics and Protestants in England, persecutions of the Quakers by Catholic in the Netherlands, and not to mention genocide of the Jewish people and other ethnic groups, race, religion or political appellation committed by the German Nazi State to murder during the second world war. It is precisely this intolerant religious mentality that foster this untold human sufferings and deaths.

Judaism, Christianity, Islamism all claims and share a common origins. They all worship the same God. The God of their patriarch Abraham. The fact is each respected religion were founded by different founders to different people at differently time. Each religion is historically just as valid as the others. Remember they are worshipping the same God.

So Stephaan are you religiously intolerant?

budd hamster. thank you very kindly, I remain.

  • http://wwwNRA.com Stephaan

    Budd;
I don’t have a lot of time on here to debate religion with you, or to try and determine what you say are actual facts as opposed to your personal opinions. You seem to be trying to lure me into one of the typical liberals “circular phases of logic”

Just STAY ON TASK and answer my question from above please. The issue is obamas flip flopping on whether he claims to be Muslim or Christian, depending on which group he is trying to appease.

    So I ask again:

Have you EVER KNOWN ANYONE who lied about what their religious beliefs are?

    To answer your question:
Budd asks:—> So Stephaan are you religiously intolerant?

No Budd, I am not religiously intolerant! If you have read many of my posts you would realize that.

I am however intolerant of religious wars and Islamic (muslim) terrorists who choose to kill innocent civilians, and Christians, and even other innocent Muslims, to further their religious agenda.
How do they justify this IF THEY ARE RELIGIOUSLY TOLERANT??

Have you ever known of any Christians who killed other Christians, any innocent civilians, or any Muslims since the time of the crusades?

    • Dylan

      Stephaans question to Budd Hamster:
      So I ask again:
Have you EVER KNOWN ANYONE who lied about what their religious beliefs are?
      ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Steph, I hope you’re not waiting for Budd “the politically Hampered” to answer that question! He’s had 3 chances and he hasn’t answered you yet! He is ignoring it because he CAN’T answer it without making Obama look like the hypocrite that he is! He has been posting elsewhere on these blogs since you posted it the 3rd. time at 2:02pm on 3-5-2010 but he hasn’t bothered to answer you because HE CAN’T!
He also won’t answer any of the other ques. that you asked him in your last post. The questions are too tough for a him because Budd is just a wanker!! ;-)

      • budd hamster

        ‘Dylan’

        Regarding Stephan’s question;

“Have you EVER KNOWN ANYONE who lied about what their religious beliets are?”

        I did not think it was worth responding and ignore it as such because I believed my response to his question was clear and simple enough. I took the effort to explain it as such;

“Please ‘Stephaan’, You need to re-examine your rationalization. One is denied the freedom to flipfloping worship, it is identical to suppressing one freedom to worship.”

Please Dylan, If one’s religion is solely his own, it is only a matter between himself and the god he wants to worship. if he also worship other gods such as the “buddha” or “Satan” simultaneously or flip-flopping when ever he like to is also acceptable. Is it a lie for one to worship more than one god? Absolutely not.

        So to answer Stephan’s question;

“Have you EVER KNOWN ANYONE who lied about what their religious beliets are?”

“NO”, I do not know of any for it is not of my concern to start with. And it is permissible to worship more than one god (think polytheism) and is also quaranteed by the U.S. Constitution, under the First Amendment, Bill of Rights.

That was a very polite way to saying it is nobody’s business. And allow me to reiterate, It is neither of yours.

I trust my response is to your liking.

budd hamster, thank you very kind for your post.

For those of you who question WMD’s in ARAQ during the reign of SADDAM, please read “Saddam’s Secrets” by Georges Sada.Georges Sada was the Ace pilot in Saddam’s Air Force. He sat next to Saddam in many meetings and had first hand knowledge of the inter workings of Saddam.
