Jamie Foxx is one of a bevy of Hollywood celebrities who appear in a new video urging Washington to come up with a plan to end gun violence. Chris Rock, Amy Poehler, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Aniston and Will Ferrell join Foxx in pleading: “For the children of Sandy Hook, we demand a plan.”

But of course, like liberals everywhere, they’re talking about more controls over you and me — not what they do in their own lives. Or even more significantly, the on-screen violence that pays many of them so well. A majority of the films that received a Best Picture nomination this year are replete with bloodshed. Take gun violence out of “Zero Dark Thirty,” “Django Unchained,” “Argo” and “Lincoln” and there wouldn’t be much a movie left. Hey, murder and mayhem sell.

The ultra-violent flick “Django Unchained” has already raked in more than $129 million at the box office. Foxx plays a revenge-seeking ex-slave.

While hosting “Saturday Night Live” last month, Foxx bragged about all the bloodshed in the Quentin Tarantino-directed movie.

“I kill all the white people in the movie,” he boasted. “How great is that?”

That’s actually a bit of an exaggeration. Django doesn’t kill all the white people — just a whole bunch of them.

And, of course, all of the violence in “Django Unchained” and others like it is portrayed with as much realism as possible, which these days means very realistically indeed.

But movies are just one source of the mindless violence that permeates our society these days. Cable television has always been known for pushing the borders of sex and violence. Now, broadcast TV is following suit. “The Following,” a new series on Fox Television, literally wallows in blood as star Kevin Bacon tries to stop a serial killer and his cult of followers.

I’ve seen estimates that by the time the average teenage male reaches high school, he has witnessed more than 10,000 killings on TV and in the movies. If he’s a fan of ultra-violent video games — as was the case for Adam Lanza, the deranged shooter in Newtown, Conn. — that number is no doubt considerably higher.

Michael Medved pointed out in his syndicated column: “The fact that violent entertainment doesn’t influence everybody doesn’t mean that it fails to influence anybody. The habits of prolific mass murderers — including the insane shooters at Columbine,Aurora and, apparently, Newtown — reveal a taste for brutal diversion.”

Yet don’t anyone dare suggest there could be some sort of relationship with a fascination for on-screen violence and the fantasies of a mentally unstable young man. The Entertainment Merchants Association, which represents video game makers and other parts of the home entertainment industry, sent an open letter to Vice President Joe Biden warning him against even investigating any possible relationship between movies, video games and real-life violence.

And former Senator Chris Dodd, who is now the head of the Motion Picture Association of America, has been quoted as saying: “What we don’t want to get involved with is content regulation. We’re vehemently opposed to that.”

Of course they are. And, as a matter of fact, so am I. The only thing worse than the present situation would be to give some committee in Washington the power to dictate what we are allowed to see. I’d hate to see what would happen to Personal Liberty Digest™ if that were ever allowed to occur.

It should come as no surprise that there is nothing in President Barack Obama’s latest gun control proposals that will do anything to change the culture of violence that pervades Hollywood today.

Interestingly enough, even with all of the publicity and the emotional outpouring that followed the terrible tragedy in Newtown, most Americans do not believe that more gun control is the answer. In a new Gallup survey, when asked to identify “the most important problem” facing the country, responders rated “gun control” No. 6.

What were the five issues that were of much more concern to a majority of Americans? You won’t be surprised to learn that the economy was in first place, followed by the Federal budget deficit, dissatisfaction with government, unemployment and lack of money.

A recent Washington Post-ABC News poll found similar results. “Enacting stricter gun-control laws” ranked fourth on a list of priorities that the public wants Washington to address. No surprise what was No. 1: It was the economy again. “Reducing federal spending” came in second. No. 3 was “restructuring the federal tax system.”

But none of this matters to the zealots in the White House and their liberal allies. Remember what Rahm Emanuel, Obama’s former chief of staff, said three years ago: “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. … the opportunity to do things that you think you could not do before.”

That is precisely why we are seeing such an aggressive push on gun control today by the Obama Administration and their friends. Remember: When promoters talk about additional gun control measures, what they’re really talking about are more measures to control you and other law-abiding Americans. Virtually none of the 23 executive orders promulgated by Obama will have any effect on deranged people who obtain weapons and then attack innocents in schools, theaters and other “gun-free” places.

That said, I’m not too worried about horribly restrictive new gun control measures being passed by Congress. In fact, it won’t surprise me if one of our best allies on this issue turns out to be Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. Here’s why:

There are 34 seats in the U.S. Senate that will be decided in 2014. Of those, 14 are held by Republicans, 20 by Democrats. But get this: Many of the latter seats are in bright red States. In fact, Obama lost seven of those 20 States in November’s election.

That’s why Ted Cruz, the newly elected Senator from Texas, made this interesting observation: “There have got to be some Democrats who are up for reelection in 2014 who are very, very nervous right now that President Obama is picking this fight. The citizens of their states are not interested in the federal government banning gun ownership for law-abiding citizens.”

Yes, I’m sure we’ll see a slew of new gun-control legislation being submitted in the new Congress. Most of it will have three things in common:

  • One, it will be ineffective.
  • Two, it will be unConstitutional.
  • And three, I’m happy to say, it won’t get approved.

Yes, this is one battle we can win — despite all of the hype, hoopla and emotional rhetoric the left will use against us. Of course, this doesn’t mean we should relax one iota. Eternal vigilance is still the price of liberty.

So until next time, keep some powder dry… and your Congressmen on notice.

    I could not care less what any celebrity’s opinion is on any subject. Especially some scumbag like Foxx. Most can’t even tell you their own name if they don’t have a script written for them. I have absolutely no respect for them, whether they be Democrat or Republican, liberal or conservative. If I’m watching a news show and one comes on, I immediately switch the channel.

          It depends on how the question is asked. If you poll Republicans, majorities will be in favor of almost all of what Obama is trying to accomplish – background checks, limiting clip size, even banning assault weapons. But if you ask Republicans if they approve of the Obama Plan, the approval rating diminishes by at least 50%. Does this tell you anything about personal demonization?

        ProtectThyStudent, funny you should come up and compare no seat belts in buses with women’s rights, and a few other things the right seems to abhor. The seat belts in buses goes dead against the total design of buses, confining children in such a way as to ensure injuries and deaths, rather than leaving them slightly freer to move about, but with only well padded surfaces to interact with, rather than that not so giving belt. And, it has been proven that a child WILL have a better chance of survival in the currently designed buses than in anything short of a full five point racing harness, at a cost of roughly a thousand dollars a seat, assuming all the kids are going to be approximately the same size. Even worse, those harnesses will have to be tossed and replaced at least ONCE a school year, and quite likely three to five times a year due to damage inflicted BY THE STUDENTS. Talk to some bus drivers and learn a bit before you go blowing off about how something would work so very well in a bus.

        Hey Robert Smith, whether or not TV and movies have a significant impact on motivating psychos (and there can be no doubt there is at least some), considering this hypothesis is at least addressing the source of the problem – the psycho. This is much better than the typical progressive/status droning about inanimate objects – guns.

        So if you want to criticize those who point to violent entertainment as a root cause, that’s fine with me, as long as you admit that gun control freaks are even more inane.

        What planet are you from Protect the Student; Sorry to inform you but there is some global warming,abortion is an individual choice not your interference in a woman’s life, yes there is over population,there is no such thing as a gun free zone as you interpret it,(another misnomer by pro gunners), vaccines save far more lives than they harm,yes humans are responsible for dwindling fish species ,(where have you been living in a cave?) and loose gun laws give more access to criminals to more guns. Oh well back to your cave!

        Well they sure go a long way toward the problem. Those and video games, the actions and speech of their parents and movies. Just look at the previews of the movies that are shown on the TV. Is there any remorse for shooting or killing someone on them? I don’t see any. In one preview one guy says you can’t just kill him like that and Stalone says why? I just did ! Sorry but I believe this all has a great deal to do with everything.

        Robert Smith, you miss the point. I am saying if you criticize those who think media violence contributes to gun violence, which is a sort of a “let’s not overreact to something and come to a simplistic solution” approach, that’s fine. But at the same time the same thought process should bring you to the conclusion that new gun laws restricting access to weapons is even more inane than increased controls on entertainment production.

        If you don’t follow that logic then your promoting for gun control is rooted in other ulterior motivations, not in an interest in preventing “Sandy Hooks” in the future. That would make you a “gun hypocrite”.

      I like watching actors and actress’s practice their craft. I thought that Jamie Foxx’s role of Ray Charles was one of the best roles I have seen.

      But they should stick to what they know, which is acting, and stay away from what they do not know, which is politics.

      I have had several actors as clients and the artistic mind makes for great roles, but is a detrement to other aspects of life

        If these actors are so commited they could always turn down roles that conflict with their political beliefs. Like that will ever happen. Truth is actors say what they are told to say, stand where they are told to stand so whos to say where their politics come from.

        P.S. I know this is not P/C but what kind of outcry would take place if on national TV any other race made the statement that they got to kill all the blacks?

I wonder who writes their “it’s a wonderful; day in the neighborhood” scripts. They never cover anything that might reflect badly on the King, if they do, they might get demerits from Soros.

    Mr. Wood, Based on exactly what evidence have you deduced that Adam Lanza was: One, and fan of ultra violent video games and two, the shooter at Sandy Hook. These are allegations, but besides simply being told these things by the main stream media, there is really little evidence to support the official narrative as presented. I question that narrative as it was set up, by design, to be questioned. It is without question, causing divisiveness amongst the sheople and critical thinkers in hopes of conflict. Keep that in mind.

      I agree with Ray. I really don’t see how an allegedly autistic/Aspergers Syndrome person could do what Adam Lanza allegedly did on his own with such speed and accuracy, not to mention hauling all of those heavy firearms on such a skinny frame. I was under the impression that the military arms the more beefy guys like that when necessary. It all sounds very fishy to me. He wasn’t even mentioned in his mom’s obit.

      As for those in “Hollyweird”, how can anyone take what they say seriously? They want to make movies with lots of blood and gore, yet have the nerve to make these ludicrous commercials and public statements calling for gun control. I say hit them all in the pocketbook and stop going to their movies, which aren’t very good anyway.

      Ultra Conservative Mel Gibson directed the movie The Passion of Christ. One of the most bloody movies ever made where pain reeked with every crack of the whip. Should a movie sugar coat the violence perpetuated by mankind and pretend that no one suffers or dies? Not sure why Richard wants the alphabet stations boycotted because of movies and sound like more of a pre programmed knee jerk reaction from him.

        I haven’t yet seen any of the movies mentioned in the Article, but there’s a big difference between violence needed to tell a story and gratuitous violence. I don’t see how one could tell any story about Lincoln’s war years without showing scenes of violence from the Civil War. Now, Quentin Tarantino, I admit, can be an acquired taste. I loved “Inglourious Basterds” but I do not share Tarantino’s love of blood and gore.

        As for the celebrities, I think all of them would be better off hiring private security (That goes for athletes, as well) than carrying guns. I suspect that is what most of the intelligent ones do. If you live the life of a movie star, rock star, or star athlete, there are temptations galore, women, parties, etc. I know Chip would never fall victim to such temptations, but then I suspect no nubile young woman has ever shown an interest in what he has to offer. Why add to that the possibility of mishandling a gun while inebriated or driving drunk when you have enough money for an army of private security and a fleet of limousines?

        I forgot to mention that while violent movies and video games may desensitize one to violence, I doubt there’s a causal connection. People in other countries watch the same movies and play the same video games but don’t have our gun death rates. Could it be they have fewer guns available? In some cases, yes and in some cases, maybe not. Don’t Japanese kids watch all the same violent crap our kids do? [My son is 16 and loves violent video games although he's never played some of the worst like "Grand Theft Auto." Fortunately, he's not really big into violent movies although I recall sitting through one of the Transformers movies with him a few years ago. Aside from watching Megan Fox, the movie was just one explosion after the other. I thought I was watching a movie in Chinese but without the subtitles.]

        Benjamin – “The Passion of the Christ” was a very powerful movie and pretty much followed what happened to Jesus. At the time I was still a Christian and it made me even more faithful. It was a very powerful movie that brought Christ’s suffering to life.

      Did you notice that Chip denounces the violence in movies but then wrings his hand and claim there is nothing we can do about it because of free speech. Says he “is vehemently opposed to it” (censorship). So typical to expose the problems yet not offering any solutions to those problems. Not much different with gun violence which is hard for him to even admit. Most Hollywood movies are so unrealistic with crashing cars,bombs going off and the hero never dying that it’s hard to separate fantasy from reality. Me and my wife watched an old Japanese Samurai movie (1961) last night. By the end of the movie most of the town’s citizens were dead and the city obliterated. So these types of movies have been going on for some time and not only in the USA. Although people died in Ben Hur and thousands in Spartacus they didn’t overplay the blood and violence to the point of nausea.

      Who do you think is profiteering from gun violence? Are they the ones who want to limit gun sales or are they the ones who want to increase gun sales? Most of those who want some kind of sensible control of guns and ammunition are not profiting from their efforts. The money behind the opposition for any kind of gun regulations are those who are in the business of producing and selling the product.

Gun dealers know exactly what their product is capable of accomplishing and we have those who continually give them the green light in selling any type of weapon imaginable. Movies don’t kill either but are they harmful or not?

      trying to ban semi automatic rifles and extended magazines is not going to end in the gubmint taking all of your weapons, but I think the shooter had the choice between five weapons, an AR15, two semi automtic handguns and two that werent, and guess which weapons he took. Doesnt take a genius to figure out why they are trying to ban extended clips and semi automatic rifles with anywhere from 30 to 100 round magazines, and if you were not so paranoid you would see it too. Quit watching red dawn, lol

        Check your murder stats for this country, and the weapon of choice. Then check firearm related murders, and see how many involve an assault weapon(s). Outside of gang shootings, only about 1% to 2% of the murders by firearm were done with an “Assault” weapon. The ‘nut’ proof the world, if you try, you’ll need ban steak knives, baseball bats, tire tools and hammers as well as automobiles of all kinds! The weapon(s) involved in some mentally deficient person’s come-apart, does NOT WARRANT the banning or confiscation of these types of weapons!

        It is often stated that more folks are killed by .22 rounds than any other. I haven’t been able to substantiate it conclusively, but it is certainly an inexpensive, readily available, and relatively low noise.

        BTW, Japan has a much higher suicide rate than America but they don’t use guns as much. I think we should look at causes of suicide and not mess with guns because of suicide.

The Taliban has ruled that country with guns and a myriad of weapons and yes they do kill women and children if it suits their purpose. An armed nation is not always a polite nation by any stretch of the immagination and it only evens out the score a little quicker. This has been one of the biggest problems in Libya right now where a year ago all the weapons arsenals were looted. That means every rebel,Gaddafi supporters,freedom fighter and thugs have guns to keep that nation in turmoil. Revenge killings and even the Benghazi deaths can be tied to the loose laws and a lack of gun control. Everyone has them and the country is in chaos so more guns don’t equal a sane society!

The right wing needs to help put in place meaningful means to track criminals and crazy folks. No more of the right wing “privacy” crap that has sidetracked things for almost three decades.

        If you insist on identity cards for voters, how’s ’bout being able to identify crazy and criminal folks?

Did you approve of or disapprove of Reagan’s attempted assassination of Gaddafi? Yes it does matter in the proliferation of guns in any society.         Your reading of history is rather limited KenPoland. The German population was disarmed by Hitler because he didn’t trust the possibility that the population “may” resist him. The majority didn’t resist him and then the majority bullied the population into submission. Losing jobs, school position, professorships, dismissing doctors from hospitals, factory work, etc., made the nwilling Germans hop in line.
        Don’t think that this will not happen in America, it may already be happening as the Leftists take over the colleges, hospitals, factories, stores, farms, etc., and the population will be bullied into submission.

        No, I agree, they were great men – but they were also hypocrites. And Jefferson acknowledged as much in his own later writings and in his essays on the immorality of slavery. There was a strong and well-known Enlightenment critique of slavery that the Founding Fathers were aware of. They were sufficiently ashamed of slavery that they referred to it, and regulated it but refused to name it explicitly in the Constitution. On every other topic they were quite explicit.

The best way to stop all the violent movies, shows & video games is to NOT watch them nor buy them! Simple product & demand method. Numerous U.S. presidents and politcial leaders of both parties throughout the last 70 years have always claimed that America’s goal is to promote peace in the world. In reality, the United States is the world’s leading merchant of death. We sell more lethal weaponry and horrific mass-killing armaments than any other nation on earth. For a while during the Cold War, the Soviets were neck-and-neck with us but with their collapse, we have far superseded them.

        This is another U.S. hypocrisy that both parties embrace, which far exceeds the hypocrisy of Jamie Foxx and Hollywood, as this literally leads to the deaths of hundreds of thousands and even millioins of people of color overseas.     I hate to say this, but even gun owners agree there should be sensible gun control laws. People dont believe that individual citizens should be owning military style weapons. I was in the army, but prior to that I never owned a gun and still don’t to this day. I dont see why someone who owns a gun should be paranoid that the government is coming to take them away because they dont want you owning an assault weapon or being able to use a 30 round or 100 round drum that can cut down other people as fast as you can pull the trigger. And I dont understand how you can defend a weapon like that. If you are in vietnam and are surrounded by charlie, I can see it, if someone is breaking into your home, you dont need 30 rounds to protect yourself and if you do, then you need to learn to shoot and shouldnt be owning a gun anyways because of all the innocents you hit while you missed your target.

    Here is something that contributes to the problem of the crazies out there. When your own,not Controlled ,Agencies(who we did not vote for) allow corporations to poison the children and adults to be sick in not only heath but mentally. I Write of the FDA. The FDA and it’s minions allow poison drugs that murder and not cure, allow thousands of toxins in the food supply, yet no news media or your elected official ever brings this to light. Why? To give you an Idea here is a quote from one their own:”THE THING THAT BUGS ME IS THAT PEOP0LE THINK THE FDA IS PROTECTING THEM. IT ISN’T. So, your can see that the unelected rule us and your politician has sold us out just for the their 30 Pieces of Blood Stained Silver. So, fools out there eat you Staff Of Life Bread filled with items like AZODICARBONAMIDE, High Fructose corn Syrup (Diabetes anyone),Ammonium Sulfate, Mono & Triglycerides, Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate,Tartrazine(a coal tar waste) all linked to behavior disorders & Allergies in children. The list goes on and on. When I write or bring to attention of my Corrupt Congressman or Senators, all I get back is propaganda. Why? They are afraid that it will reduce the amount of Blood Stained Silver that they receive.Now we get into the Pharmaceutical Industry, which now leads all other industries in FRAUD against the Federal Government and of course the murder of the Citizens.The FDA is responsible for 140,000 heart attacks and over 60,000 deaths of Americans and yet Congress and our New Messiah of a, Snake Oils Salesman does nothing except increase the powers of the FDA. The FDA now has it own Gestapo Swat Teams & Kangaroo Court System which has already proven to use Terror Tactic Against Family and small Children with a big gun pointed at their heads. I Know that this will go unheeded as our Corrupt News Media is more into Soap Opera type of coverage as who did who. So, Comrades eat your poison foods and take your poison drugs, Bend over with heads low and back side up to get shafted again while your Child is being poison in mind and body.       Don’t feel left out in the cold and as though nobody is listening because you are not alone. I have been saying the same things for years and it always falls on deaf ears. Food additives are the worst crime in this country because you don’t have much of a choice but to eat them if you are someone that is very busy and can’t fix everything from scratch. I raised 5 children and 2 grand children that all had and still have reactions to food additives. These additives are called excito toxins for a reason and they work on the brain. It takes a minimum of three days to begin to get them out of the system and sometimes it takes a month or better. Once you get them out then some loving teacher will give her students a treat of some dye spiked juicy drink or a cookie or candy or even a cute little tatoo to put on their arm ! Now you have to go through the whole thing all over again. These things are causing a lot of kids to have ADHD and instead of eliminating the cause from the food they will pump the kid full of drugs. Yes the drugs work at first but then the kids don’t like the way they feel on them so they refuse to take them and you are right back to the same ole same ole ! Same thing with flu shots and what ever you can think of to stick in the newborns butt or leg. Don’t let your kids ingest mercury but let the medical industry pump it into them with their vaccines that are preserved with mercury. Do you have a choice or are you told this is what you have to do or you can’t put your kid in school. We are being exploited from every direction and it is time to stop before we become robots . !

    What difference does it make what people who earn their living to be somebody else think? Should I put my bible on the shelf and pay homage to actors opinions? We’re all Americans and everyone of our opinions are of equal value. It was said: “I am smarter than no man in that I can learn from all of them”. Sure I see the wheels of propaganda are churning to twist our minds so that we will programmed into think the way DC wants us to think. The Globe, National Inquirer, MSN front page, more that I can think of, are trying to put blinders on us to make us like Pavlov’s dogs. Look up people, not around at all the dainties their throwing our way. Personally, I wouldn’t give an actors opinion anymore value than I would give any of the posters here. Most of these people at least research their thoughts before they post. Do people pretending to be someboby else do that? Turn the page. That’s all their comments are worth.

    When the sheriff comes to your door and demands your guns what will you do? You stand up for your rights and he leaves. Soon heavily armed federal agents come to your door and won’t take no for an answer. I’ve read the bumper stickers saying they’ll have to take my gun from my cold dead fingers but this isn’t realistic. They will take your guns. If your dead all the better for them.

    In my area every federal agency has gun carrying law enforcement agents that weren’t there just a few years ago. I do not like the direction this country is going. I’m not Bible thumping religious but prayer looks to be the only answer.

      Patriots plan for resisting the Globalist agenda:
      Develop Secure Community Co-ops (Interactive Neighborhood Watch on steroids). Groups should be from about 5 to 15 people in the same general area, neighborhood. All members should be conservative/responsible adults.
      Members should work at fortifying local, county and state govts. as well as joining Shrf. Reserve Forces (as long as the shrf. is an oathkeeper), Constitutional Sheriffs Assoc./ USCDA, State Militias, Constitutional Militias, etc. Also, should be involved in TP, 9-12, John Birch Soc., etc.
      SCC’s should have a liason with other like-minded grps. in order to give/obtain support when needed.
      The states should and hopefully will be the first line of defense against an overreaching tyrannical govt.(Don’t count on it if you are living in a Blue State) Next, it would fall on the counties and local communities, working in concert with the various State Militia units, Co. Shrfs’ Depts., Constitutional and SCC elements. After that, if needed, Bug Out procedures should be implemented. Hopefully, to safe areas.

    It appears that no one ever saw Adam and his “mother” at the local gun ranges practice shooting.

    Obviously what we really need to control violence is Movie-control, Video Game-control, TV-control.

    We can then move to the 13th, 14th, 19th Amendments and have voter-control. In order to eliminate the commission of mass-stupidity in voting booths we must institute testing for voters. This will allow us to determine who is qualified to vote. It will help eliminate the low-information voters who are too lazy / stupid to be allowed access to voting booths.

    You can’t do that!? Those are protected rights under the Constitution!

    Really? If they can disregard one amendment, they can disregard as many as they want. What’s to stop them? A DISARMED citizeny?

    We must do it for the chilen!

If you do, your inviting a tyrannical communist government to overthrow our Constitutional republic. Our rights are a gift from God, and the liberties that go with them. Because we have those gifts, we form governments to protect them. If government decides itself to encroach on those gifts, then it is an illegitimate government. Laws must be in line with our gifts. Anything else are nothing but edicts imposed on the people by a criminal government.

In the real lfe they think their some kind of god because we treat them that way. I worked with Charles Bronson on Death Wish 111 and had a chance to observe how people act around movie stars. In a word, it was sickening. Even he thought that. I’m in this game because our lives, liberties and properties are at stake, and I don’t trust some star to tell me how to take care of them. Most of them can’t hold a marriage together, much less know how to hold a country together.

    I hope these sentiments are true Chip…really I do.
    But lets look at what is happening before our very eyes,and focus on what we know as being true.Our children are being taught anti-gun sentiment in the schools.They are young and impressionable,and know nothing of the world and its fallacies.
    Yet in the very near future many of them will be churning out into the voting public.
    This does not bode well for their rights or ours.Why?
    Because they are being taught that we(in political speaking..terms,our nation)are a democracy,and they believe it.They dont care about what they havent learned,but rather easily cling to societal standards being given to them by their marxist instructors.
    They see what they are shown on television and on the computer and they know nothing…not one iota more.
    This makes them likely to go along with the crowd,and vote for what “seems” right.
    Our future is’nt all as bright as you would like to assume.
    We have turned from our right ways in our comfort to tolerate bad behavior in our society(and if this isnt registering,then just listen to some of the commentators here on this blog),and it will come back to bite our posteriors.
    In fact it is taking a large heaping chomp at them right as we write these posts.
    You cannot stop what God has set in motion.
    Not that for one moment I think that He enjoys punishing us for our sinful behavior,but how can we be His children and go unpunished when we have been living against His will?
    This is why liberals and progressives cannot fathom God’s great patience with us…because they go by what they can sense with their senses,and not by what they can learn from their mistakes.
    But sooner or later God’s patience wears thin,and then the comeuppance occurs,falling on both the guilty and the blameless,becuase they will not turn back to Him in their shame and repent of what they have done with truly penitent hearts.

    I begin my treatise with these words from the Declaration of Independence. These words are as true today as they were when penned. We find ourselves today as Americans being abused by a government that has usurped our rights, and it appears the present administration is intent on “a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism”. Our freedoms under the Bill or Rights are being abused and assaulted daily. We can no longer speak freely about anything without the worry of “offending” someone, anyone, everyone, and if the folks who espouse this reasoning have their way it will be written into law under what penalties Heaven only knows. We cannot practice our religion freely. Books are being banned. Our right to keep and bear arms is being assaulted. Our children are being taught this reasoning. The Constitution no longer matters. We have a President who ignores it, and a Congress and Courts who allow him to get away with it, and a press and news media that defend him, and theirs is the only right under the First Amendment. It appears to me that the period of “while evils are sufferable” is upon us, and most citizens are unaware of or don’t care about it. We seem to have a certain part of society whose main interest is obtaining their living on the hard work and acumen of everyone else, and a President who appears intent on seeing that they get it. A President who gained his office through lies and deceit and thinks that he cannot be held accountable for it, and if reports are to be believed there was voter fraud involved in his election. His belief that he will not be held accountable is probably true because we have a Congress which is not doing it’s job of checking him so that the power is balanced in his favor, and a majority of citizenry who idly sit by and watch it happen.

    The time has never been more urgent than it is today. We the people must act by using our combined political power to induce our will on the people who supposedly represent us. They appear to espouse the same ideology as the President, and that is not representing the people. If you want to see what is coming to us I recommend that you search on “quotes of Vladimir Linen”. To paraphrase him “a lie told often enough becomes the truth”, “the objective of socialism is communism”, “one man with a gun can control one hundred men without one”. If you don’t see this happening today then you are asleep or blind. We are receiving a wake up call that is warning us that our lives as a free people is about to end if we continue on this path. It is urgently required that we use our political power to change this situation. I urge you to write to your representatives and senators to put an end to this man’s plans or face a loss of office in the next election. We have the power to do this if we stand together. The President can do nothing without the consent of Congress. Executive orders are meant to guide officers of the departments of the government in executing laws as approved by Congress, and cannot be used to infringe on our rights under the Bill of Rights. The only laws we are bound by are those which the Congress votes into law. The President is NOT a power unto himself, and we must do something to remind him of that. The Constitution denies him that power, and not that it means anything to him, but he is sworn to uphold it. He is not a legislator but an executive who carries out the laws passed by the legislators. The Constitution to him is “flawed” so he believes he has the right to ignore it, but he is wrong.

    These are the thoughts of the men who won our freedom and passed it down to us. It shows the greatest of disrespect to the sacrifices made by our forefathers to diregard the product of those sacrifices, those being the Declaration of Independence, which in essence was the first law of the land, and the Constitution with it’s Bill of Rights which established us as a united people with the right to govern ourselves. The power of governance lies solely with the people, and according to our Declaration of Independence it is our right, and our duty to “throw off such government” as we suffer under today. This we can do if we stand together. This can be done by civil process using our political power, or through force should that ever become necessary, and having served myself it would truly be difficult for me to join such a cause to face my comrades in arms on the battle field, such a decision I would no take lightly, but make no mistake I would willingly join in a struggle to maintain my freedoms against anyone who stood between me and them. People look past it and make what I consider to be false interpretation of it, but my interpretation of the Second Amendment that is gives us the right to keep and bear arms in order to form a militia that is armed in order to protect ourselves from oppressive and depotic government. That becomes plainly obvious when you read the reasoning and thoughts of the people who passed the Constitution down to us, and when you espouse the reason why we revere the Declaration of Independence. It is time we got back to the roots of our freedoms and independence and begin to rule ourselves.

    It is blantantly obvious that we function under a corrupt regime, and it’s policies are leading to a complete infringement and intrusion into our personal lives and basic rights. I would like to share with you some of the views of our forefathers through their quotes and writings. This is indeed not a complete list but a few quotations as concerns our rights and our government, of course including the above quote from the preamble to the Declaration of Independence:

    “THESE are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.     It would be nothing but fair to include views from the other side of the political argument. Since it is obvious that the leanings of this government is to the left, and the more votes it attempts to buy or steal, will ensure it’s permanentcy and it’s ability to usurp and infringe on our rights under the Constitution of the United States of America. It may be a slow process, but make no mistake, it is the intention of the the left to destroy the foundation of our liberties and invade the private and personal lives of every citizen of this country, and that includes those who support it. It is obvious that this administration won it offices on lies and deceit of the voters of this country, who were the first to become agitated at the taxes on the middle class, which everyone knows the President promised wouldn’t happen. It is good enough for them, and maybe they will learn to use their crap detectors next election the same as those who didn’t vote. I have given you some quotes from the most prominent man of the socialist persuasion, at least the most famous in modern times, and I will present to you some more of his ideology in the following paragraphs, including some of those who have confronted it:

    I leave you with a transcription of the Bill of Rights, which were included in the Constitution to delineate basic rights and freedoms of the people to protect them from what some of the founders believed could be a central government so powerful that it might override the rights of the governed who themselves are the true holders of power in this Republic. The federal government can hold no power that they are not allowed by the people, and according to the documents passed down to us by the founders we have a right, nay, a duty of recourse by political power or armed resistance to a government which does not have the will of the people at heart. We find ourselves in a crisis as urgent as any we have faced. I fear not what this one government can do. I personally hold the philosophy of doing what I think is right and if I am wrong I am willing to accept responsibility for it. My fear is that this government is raising a mass of voters to perpetuate it’s agenda by the reasoning of the above quote by Lyn Nofziger. If that happens then you can kiss your freedom and rights good bye. We have seen our rights trampled on by the left to the extent that we have no control over what we can say or do and what our children are taught. Our rights under the Second Amendment are under attack at the moment with threats of an executive order basically taking away our right to self denfense of our families and property, and extending to our right to protect ourselves from a despotic takeover of the government which disregards the will of the people by appealing to the to the greed and envy of those who have only their personal wants at heart. Enough said, I will leave you to your own thoughts and opinions of what you read here. It is not my intent to preach, but to bring notice to that which we cannot treat so lightly as to have it take away from us. I draw your attention to the ninth amendment which does not allow limitation of other rights we might have. If you think at all about it you will find that all the others have already been “denied and disparaged”.

    For all of you slamming actors for knowing nothing about politics, it seems you are overlooking one of your very favorite presidents. Ronald Reagan was an actor, both stage and screen, long before he got involved in politics, and the same can be said for a very recent California governor. Of course, Arnie was a weight lifter before he became an actor, and seems to have been a LOT better as a weight lifer than an actor OR a governor. But, didn’t you know, to be a politician, you have to have a bit of stage blood in you so YOU could stomach some of the things you have to say and do to get into office, let alone stay there.

      I don’t think anybodies slamming actors, they’re just putting them in their place when it comes to politics. They’re one vote with one opinion, nor more valid than the rest of us. We create our own idols, not the actors. When they get there is when they can be dangerous to us and to themselves.     No Mo Movies, do you watch any television at all? How about any of the cable shows? If you watch any of that, you are paying actors, even if YOU don’t feel it. Seems all those shows are paid for by the people who sponsor them to run on some channel or network, or both, and you get to watch the ads that are used to pay for these shows. Now, if you can honestly tell me that you watch no television, listen to no radio, and rent no dvd’s or video tapes, then I will agree, you MIGHT NOT be paying any actors, directly. You do buy gasoline, bread, meat, cereals, and vegetables, unless you live totally self sufficient, and maybe sell some surplus, you are supporting actors. Seems like pretty much anything you do that involves using or buying something nowadays will have ads somewhere, and those ads generally use actors at some point in their development, and maybe even in the final product.

    I wish these Hollywood types would do a little homework instead of just kissing Obama/Davis’ ass on matters like this. Honest citizens do not kill people unless they are threatening them, their family or their things. To address the real problem…we must recognize people with sickness’ and make sure they get the help they need. Another thing that just jumps out at most people ….is the need to stop the violence in the movies and the video games, etc. that the children are definitely influenced by. Your Hollywood crap especially. Thing like this did not happen years ago….because violent crap was not the daily menu for kids. So just shut up and try doing something constructive for a change

      Jan – “Years ago” much of what happens today happened then and even more. The early 20th century saw a great deal of violence. The rate has only dropped in the past 20 years.

    I’ll never forget the interview, where Rosie O’Donnell blind sided Tom Selleck with her anti-gun tyrade. Here’s a fact, which is that all the liberal Hollywood and New York celebs are surrounded with guys that carry guns, in order to have “protection.” You see, you and I are the “little people” and we have to be told what to do by actors, who are, by nature, proffessional liars. It’s their jobs to lie and promote fantasies about life. And, who are the people behind them? Try the ultra-rich elite, who own the media. You see, these camera whores rely on media owners for their meal tickets. If they tell them to support an anti-gun agenda, it’s not out of conscience, but rather, out of greed for money and desire to remain in the entertainment lime light. Bottom line, is that you, Joe and Jane public, can’t be trusted with weapons, particularly guns. Only government thugs and criminals are supposed to have guns. By the way, the Australian ambassador to the USA was being interviewed by Dan Rather, and has also been interviewed recently by other reporters and the guy said this “criminals have enough sense not to give guns to crazy people.” In other words, this jerk, and the repressive Aussie government, treasures the judgement of criminals, over their citizens. It was the studipest pro-gun ban statement I’ve ever heard. Well, Australia did begin as a prison colony, so, I suppose that it’s all just one big jail down there. Instead of citizens, their just all inmates in an ultramodern British prison colony of the UK.
